Monster Hunter Wilds Tells Fans To Wait Until Winter For Fixes

by admin August 19, 2025

Monster Hunter Wilds latest update has given players plenty of new things to do, from grinding for new talismans to trying not to die to the new 9-star boss fights. But players on PC are still struggling with poor performance optimization, and Capcom now says no major fixes will be ready until the winter.

“To our hunters playing Monster Hunter Wilds on PC, we’re committed to listening to your feedback and improving both performance and stability of the game,” an update posted on X on August 18 reads. “Although we will continue to implement gradual improvements in the weeks ahead, we are targeting Free Title Update 4 this winter to implement a multifaceted plan, including CPU and GPU related optimizations, followed by a second stage of mitigation measures afterwards. We’ll share more information on the specifics in the future.”

The response from fans so far has been less than stellar. “It’s not normal to wait one year to get at least a small optimization for PC players,” wrote one. “We are paying for stability and performance as the same time free updates. I have a war machine and i have to play everything on LOW hoping it’s going well.” Another posted, “Love MHWilds I really do, but waiting almost a year for the game to run at least a little better is a bit crazy.”

Similar sentiments have been echoed across the game’s subreddit and recent Steam reviews where Monster Hunter Wilds still sits at just 25 percent, up from an all-time low earlier in the summer, but still far from where the overwhelmingly positive ratings other recent entries in the series sit. While not everyone’s facing issues, people on a range of machines are still reporting crashes, ugly textures, and unstable framerates even at 30fps.

There’s currently a new Title Update 3 scheduled for September to add a new monster and more balance adjustments to combat and progression, followed by Title Update 4 in the winter. There’s also the game’s first expansion, which new Monster Hunter entries tend to get 12-18 months after they ship. It’ll be a make-or-break moment for the players on PC who feel like the last six months have been closer to an Early Access experience.

Black Ops 7 release date spotted in the wilds ahead of Call of Duty’s latest Gamescom blowout

by admin August 19, 2025

True to the game’s billing as the twistiest of duty-shooters, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7’s release date trailer appears to have leaked ahead of a possible Gamescom Opening Night Live showing tonight. The new FPS will launch on 14th November, close to a month after rival Battlefield 6’s release on October 10th. Also, it appears to have jet packs and mechs.

The leak comes care of that ever-dependable source of military intelligence, a video advertisement that seems to have been accidentally published early. The ad has now been removed, but not before CharlieIntel spotted it and shared it on the Xeetbox, along with some thoughts based on the user’s own pre-release access. “Just to tone down expectations, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 does not have jet packs or double jumps as part of its movement,” CharlieIntel claims. Alas for Black Ops 3 and Halo: Reach players. Good news, I guess, for people who relish the ‘omnimovement’ of Black Ops 6.

Here is what we know of Call of Duty: Bleven for sure: it requires secure boot, to avoid cheaters. It’s got the usual co-op, zombies and competitive multiplayer bits. The campaign is set in 2035, hence the mechs and jet packs, and expands upon the global calamities unleashed in Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 6. It sees grizzly grumbleface David Mason chasing after an enigmatic new foe who “weaponise fear”. There will probably be hallucinations and other Manchurian Candidate-esque horseplay to wash down the gadgets and gunnery.

As reported by VGC, today’s release date whoopsie corroborates a previous leak that also included a price tag for the Standard Edition – $70 or €80 – with a Vault Edition priced at $100 or €110. If legit, this means that Microsoft has still yet to cross the Rubicon and raise the game’s base US price to $80, as they tried to do with The Outer Worlds 2 until the internet started screaming at them.

Capcom asks PC Monster Hunter Wilds players to wait until Title Update 4 this winter for “CPU and GPU related optimizations”

by admin August 19, 2025

PC gamers who are hoping Capcom updates Monster Hunter Wilds to improve performance will have to wait a little longer. A statement made on X.com via the official Monster Hunter account has told players that improvements are coming, but not until this winter.

To our hunters playing #MHWilds on PC, we’re committed to listening to your feedback and improving both performance and stability of the game.

Although we will continue to implement gradual improvements in the weeks ahead, we are targeting Free Title Update 4 this winter to implement a multifaceted plan, including CPU and GPU related optimizations, followed by a second stage of mitigation measures afterwards.

We’ll share more information on the specifics in the future.

The news comes alongside the release of Hotfix patch Ver.1.021.02.00, which has dropped on PS5, Xbox, and PC.

Hotfix patch Ver.1.021.02.00 details:

Bug Fixes and Balance Adjustments

  • Fixed an issue that reduced the invulnerability window upon successfully performing the long sword’s Iai Spirit Slash against monster attacks that have long hit detection durations.
  • Fixed an issue where, when the Item Bar Display option is set to Type 1, if you select an item using the Item Bar while in Aim/Focus Mode and then release Aim/Focus Mode, the selected item would revert to an empty slot.

This is a news-in-brief story. This is part of our vision to bring you all the big news as part of a daily live report.

After suffering an influx of overwhelmingly negative Steam reviews, can Capcom turn around Monster Hunter Wilds with the upcoming Title Update 2?

by admin June 23, 2025

Monster Hunter Wilds has been having a rough time of it lately. Over the course of the past week, Capcom’s seventh ‘main’ Monster Hunter title has racked up over 2,000 negative reviews. Most embittered reviewers are lamenting the game’s poor PC performance, whilst others criticise Capcom for the poor optimisation and lack of PC-specific support.

Others bemoan the much slower update cadence the game has received since launch – which is quite light when compared with the previous two games in the series, World and Rise. A popular post by Monster Hunter megafan and content creator, ShinCry, which you can see below, highlights the somewhat scant offering Wilds has had compared to the previous games in the same timespan.

ShinCry’s chart shows the discrepancy between the last three mainline Monster Hunter games. | Image credit: ShinCry

Whilst most of the reviews are fixated on the technical (specifically citing crashes, stuttering, and visual bugs in Wilds), others are getting frustrated with the lack of communication from Capcom, that has been somewhat tight-lipped on what – if anything – it plans to do about all the negative feedback. One complaint fans repeatedly raise about the game is the difficulty and the lack of end-game content – something very important in the health of a Monster Hunter title. “[Capcom] charged $70 for a game that feels like it has less content than its precursors,” reads one highly-rated Steam review, for example.

Some even claim that the updates Capcom has added since the game’s launch on February 28th have made PC performance worse. And that’s saying something. All eyes are on the next big content drop in the game, coming 30th June: can this update address all the issues players have with Capcom’s tentpole release for 2025? Probably not, but at least all of us carving enthusiasts have something to look forward to.

Lagiacrus is no joke, and many are hoping it will be a tough fight. | Image credit: Capcom

Officially, we know that we’re getting at least one “fan-favourite” monster as part of Title Update 2: Lagiacrus, the underwater leviathan. Thanks to a (now removed) update on the Monster Hunter Wilds page on the PlayStation Store, however, we also know more about what we can expect from the incoming update.

The page disclosed that we’re actually getting two “fan-favourite” monsters in this update. Datamines around the game suggest this may be Seregios – known to long-time fans of the series as ‘Steve’ for ridiculous fandom-related reasons – which will hopefully prove to be a tougher opponent than many of the monsters seen in-game to date. As well as the leviathan and Steve, which is based on the real-world Secretary Bird, we will also get an Arch-Tempered Uth Duna, layered weapons to satiate the needs of all the Fashion Hunters out there, and a couple more events over the coming weeks and months.

But will this be enough? Capcom still hasn’t said much about planned performance improvements for the title, nor has it promised balance changes or tweaks providing extra challenge to seasoned pros itching for more of a fight. We’re going to get more solid news about this update at this week’s Capcom Spotlight on Thursday, 26th June, but many fans are dubious about their actual issues being addressed.

At the time of writing, Monster Hunter Wilds has just one percent of the concurrent players it did at launch; that’s not surprising in itself, since we’re a good five months out from launch, but given how ‘sticky’ past Monster Hunter games have been, figures like that will no doubt be setting alarm bells off at Capcom HQ.

The numbers paint a bleak picture for Capcom. | Image credit: SteamDB

I love the Seregios fight, and I think the wounds system and slightly more mobile play style in Wilds will really suit the monster. So I know I’ll be jumping back in to enjoy that, and see how it all works within Wilds’ more developed ecosystem. But I play on console, and the version I play does not suffer from the same issues disenfranchised Steam players have been kicking up such a fuss about over the past week.

I also think a more robust and varied set of events can help turn things around for Wilds. So far, many of the special event quests added to the game have offered insignificant or otherwise forgettable rewards for players, and I wasn’t even that enthused by the Street Fighter collaboration that was added to the game in May, and I’m a bonafide Street Fighter apologist.

Capcom has generated a lot of positive consumer sentiment in the past few years. Between great quality games, a selection of interesting products across multiple genres, and – usually – pretty good comms with its players, the publisher has garnered quite the reputation. To see it marred by out-of-character post-launch support for Wilds seems odd. I know game development takes longer, and drinks more resources, than it did back in the World and Rise cycles, but you’d think the publisher would be keen to press that message publicly, instead of sitting back and letting players stew like they are as we’re awaiting the deployment of Title Update 2.

I think Capcom has what it takes to turn the fortunes of Monster Hunter Wilds around. It took seven patches for the publisher to figure out the issues with Dragon’s Dogma 2 back in 2024, and I’m just hoping Capcom can work that same engineering magic with Monster Hunter Wilds before it’s too late.

After all, I do not want to have to wait until the inevitable Sunbreak- or Iceborne-style DLC in order to really get the most out of what I think has the potential to be one of the best games in the series.

Capcom Spotlight Will Showcase New Monster Hunter Wilds Update, Resident Evil Requiem, And More Next Week

by admin June 20, 2025

The summer game showcase madness isn’t over yet! Resident Evil and Monster Hunter publisher-developer Capcom has announced it will hold a Capcom Spotlight next week to showcase several upcoming games and more, including the newest update for Monster Hunter Wilds. More specifically, it will air at 3 p.m. PT/6 p.m. ET on Thursday, June 26, and run for approximately 40 minutes.

“The Capcom Spotlight is a digital event that brings you the latest news from Capcom,” the show’s description reads. “We will be presenting the latest news on highly anticipated upcoming Capcom titles along with developer interviews. Please look forward to information regarding the newest update for Monster Hunter Wilds as well.”

If this description and accompanying teaser video, which you can view below, are any indication, it seems the new update for Monster Hunter Wilds will be the big highlight of the show. But, considering Capcom pulled back the curtains on Pragmata gameplay at Summer Games Fest, and recently revealed Resident Evil Requiem, Street Fighter 6’s Year 3 fighters DLC, and more, there’s plenty of Capcom games to go around.

The Capcom Spotlight showcase airs next week on Thursday, June 26.

In the meantime, read Game Informer’s thoughts on Resident Evil Requiem after a behind-closed-doors preview, and then check out our hands-on preview thoughts of Pragmata. After that, read about how Capcom’s sleeper hit Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess runs on Switch 2, and then read Game Informer’s Monster Hunter Wilds review.

What do you hope to see during next week’s Capcom Spotlight? Let us know in the comments below!

The next set of Monster Hunter Wilds Event Quests actually has new stuff to do, but there are still no Challenge Quests

by admin June 18, 2025

If you don’t intend to jump into any of the new games coming out this week and for the rest of June, you might want to check in on the latest batch of Monster Hunter Wilds Event Quests. Capcom, right on schedule, has published the full stack for this week, next, and the one after that.

This is all pretty standard, of course, even if it does look like the lists are getting smaller and smaller.

For instance, none of the three weeks have any Challenge Quests, meaning you’re looking at just Event Quests for all of them. Challenge Quests are often more difficult, and require certain equipment – but that’s the point.

Regardless, just like the last batch, and the one before that, the quests are rolled out together each week. You can play them as many times as you like, but make sure you finish your runs before the end of each week.

A good strategy is to prioritise quests with the rewards you want, because you’re not likely to get them on the first try. Once that’s over and done with, you can shift your focus to other quests.

Read on below for the latest Event Quest schedule:

Monster Hunter Wilds hits Mostly Negative on Steam despite stellar launch

by admin June 18, 2025

Recent reviews for Monster Hunter Wilds have plummeted all the way down to Mostly Negative, with overall reviews sinking to Mixed. Though it had a great launch critically, players who have sunk in hundreds of hours aren’t happy with the game’s current state.

With a metacritic score of 88, Wilds is one of the biggest critical hits of the year and immediately became Capcom’s fastest-selling game ever. It’s only a few points behind big hitters like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Blue Prince. But Steam reviews are a stark contrast.

Article continues after ad

Reviews are filled with people claiming that Wilds is much worse than prior entries like World and Rise, saying that the endgame lacks the same staying power as prior entries.

This, combined with performance issues that have only gotten worse in comparison to an already rocky launch, has landed Monster Hunter Wilds a much lower Steam rating than it had a few months ago.

Monster Hunter Wilds reviews experience a massive downturn

In Monster Hunter games, credits rolling on the main story is typically just the beginning. Getting to High Rank hunts and crafting the game’s best armor is what keeps players hooked for hundreds of hours.

Article continues after ad

However, those who are in the endgame claim that it’s way too easy, with fights being much shorter than prior entries. People looking for an endgame challenge don’t have much to look forward to going by reviews.

“As much as I love Monster Hunter, I cannot defend this game in any way shape or form. It runs terribly on PC, the game is ugly as hell compared to what MH World had to offer, the fights are underwhelming for what MH usually has (but I do hope that can be improved with a DLC),” said one Steam user.

Article continues after ad

“Monster Hunter Milds. Way too short, too easy, too streamlined, too expensive, and runs like trash,” said another.

Article continues after ad

One user even claimed that they haven’t been able to make the game run for almost a month on their PC, with them being blocked out from the game entirely after an update in late May.

CapcomNot even putting Akuma in Monster Hunter Wilds could lift review scores

“As of 5/28/2025, after 250+ hours of gameplay, the game will no longer boot up. I’ve tried re-installing, deleting shader caches, uninstalling REframework (which is basically needed to run the game smoothly at all), rolling back my NVIDIA drivers, re-installing again, restarting my PC a dozen times, nothing works,” they claimed.

Article continues after ad

With performance getting even worse since launch according to some users and people being unhappy with the general gameplay loop, many longtime fans of the series are recommending new players try old entries even after they’ve put 100, 200, 300+ hours into Wilds.

And, while many of these diehard fans are willing to wait for updates to try and add more engaging endgame content and improve performance, they’re keeping their reviews negative until Capcom makes some changes.

Get ready to grind: there’s not a lot going on in the Monster Hunter Wilds Event Quests scheduled for the next couple of weeks

by admin June 3, 2025

A new week brings with it a fresh set of Monster Hunter Wilds Event Quests, just like we’ve gotten used to since the introduction of the feature a little while after the game launched. This is somewhat of a quiet batch, however, possibly because Wilds recently received a big update that introduced Akuma as a playable character, as part of the game’s Street Fighter cross-over event.

Akuma comes with his own quests, of course, so perhaps Capcom didn’t want to take too much away from the raging demon’s big moment. Nevertheless, anyone logging in these next couple of weeks will have some quests to tackle.

This new set of Event Quests covers this week and next week. Put another way, you have May 28-June 3, June 4-June 10, and June 11-17. Notably, there are no Challenge Quests in any of those weeks, meaning you’ll just be dealing with Event Quests.

As always, once a quest becomes available, you’ll be able to attempt it as often as you’d like, until it’s gone. If you log in regularly, you’ll notice that quests repeat pretty regularly, so don’t fret if you miss something, it’s bound to come back again at some point.

Read on below for the full schedule:

May 28 to June 3

  • King of a Faraway Sky – 6 Stars (HR 31 or higher) – Hunt the Tempered Guardian Rathalos to obtain Artian materials for use in crafting Artian weapons.

  • Running Wild – 5 Stars (HR 21 or higher) – Hunt the Guardian Fulgur Anjanath to obtain Sealed Dragon Cloth α headgear!

June 4 to June 10

  • Three Tails Better Than None – 4 Stars (HR16 or higher) – Hunt the Quematrice to obtain special materials and earn the paw-some Faux Felyne α headgear.

  • Tongue-Tied – 5 Stars (HR 21 or higher) – Hunt the the Tempered Chatacabra to obtain Hard Armor Spheres and Advanced Armor Spheres.

  • Anguish and Atrocity – 5 Stars (HR 21 or higher) – Hunt the Guardian Doshaguma to gain a lot of Hunter Rank Points.

June 11 to 17

  • Three Tails Better Than None – 4 Stars (HR16 or higher) – Hunt the Quematrice to obtain special materials and earn the paw-some Faux Felyne α headgear.

  • Ballet in the Rain – 5 Stars (HR 21 or higher) – Hunt the Tempered Lala Barina to obtain Glowing Orb – Swords Decorations.

  • Sand-Scarred Soul – 5 Stars (HR 9 or higher) – Hunt the Doshaguma to obtain Glowing Orb – Armors Decorations.

Monster Hunter Wilds is a pretty dense game, so if you’re ever lost, our Monster Hunter Wilds guide is always here; ready to deliver.

Monster Hunter Wilds' Street Fighter collaboration is all about Akuma

Monster Hunter Wilds’ Street Fighter collaboration is all about Akuma

by admin May 23, 2025

Capcom has officially announced that, yes, in case all the teasers weren’t clear enough, the first Monster Hunter Wilds collaboration event will be with none other than Street Fighter. Collaboration events provide an opportunity for Capcom to bring elements and characters from other games into Wilds.

The Monster Hunter series certainly isn’t a stranger to that sort of thing, and this one appears to be following in the same footsteps.

First things first, the Monster Hunter Wild x Street Fighter event kicks off next week, on Wednesday, May 28. It’s going to arrive alongside a free patch, version 1.011 – though Capcom didn’t say what else we can expect from the update itself.

As for the Street Fighter event, it’s going to introduce Akuma to Wilds. The update will add a new side mission, completing which earns you materials that allow you to craft gear from the collaboration event.

The side mission will be available at Hunter Rank 21 and beyond, so it’s pretty accessible to most players. You’ll be able to pick it up from Quinn at the Oilwell Basin Base Camp. There are three sets of rewards you can expect to craft as part of this collaboration.

Watch on YouTube

There’s the Akuma full armor set and lawyered equipment, as well as a Blanka-Chan full armor set and layered equipment for your Palico. There’s also a hunter profile background, nameplate, pose and titles – all sporting new designs.

The mission itself will also unlock two new Arena Quests: Demonic Strength and True Strength, which will offer more ways for you to earn the materials required to craft all that gear. It wouldn’t be a collab without some paid cosmetics, of course, and so you can look forward to some new DLC in the store.

It’s all Street Fighter 6-themed, and includes two outfits for Alma that change her look to that of Chun-Li or Cammy, three gestures – Hadoken, Shoryuken, Tatsumaki Senpu-kyaku – a sticker set, and a Blanka-Chan Doll pendant.

Monster Hunter Wilds nabs Street Fighter 6’s Akuma, Chun-Li and more for a Capcom centric collab

by admin May 22, 2025

The unthinkable has happened, folks: Monster Hunter Wilds, from the one and only Capcom, is collaborating with Street Fighter 6, also from the one and only Capcom. This won’t be much of a surprise for many of you given that 1. Capcom own both titles and can arrange collabs like this pretty easily I assume and B. it’s been teasing it for days now. That isn’t to say the trailer showing off the crossover didn’t have anything concrete, as it did confirm that you’ll be able dress up as Street Fighter baddie Akuma.

The full armour set/ full layered armour set goes a bit further than just aesthetics too, as “equipping either set allows you to use Akuma’s unique item and gestures to perform his fighting moves.” Using the Assisted Combo: Akuma item command lets you a range of his combos like Gou Hadoken and Gou Shoryuken.

Watch on YouTube

Whatever weapon you have equipped will change how much attack power Akuma’s moves will have too. Capcom also shared that Street Fighter 6’s Drive Impact system has been recreated for this free update. Oh, your Palico will be able to dress up like Blanka-Chan too, which might be my favourite addition to the action game this update. In order to get all of these items, you’ll need to complete the side mission that comes along with it, Ultimate Strength.

On top of all of this, there’s a paid DLC pack on the way as well where you can dress up Alma in either a Chun-Li or Cammy outfit. The DLC also comes with a Blanka-Chan Doll pendant, Street Fighter 6 stickers, and gestures. These include classic moves like Hadoken and Shoryuken, which all have attack properties too!

Both the update and the DLC are due out next week, May 28th.
