Creator of Stardew Valley doesn’t charge for collabs with other games, does it to please players

by admin August 22, 2025

The creator of Stardew Valley – Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone – has revealed he’s never made any money directly from in-game crossovers. Instead, Barone agreed to implement these updates because he’s a fan of the games, or thought players would like them.

Barone shared a statement on X (formerly Twitter) soon after the announcement of a crossover event with Infinity Nikki, in which a Junimo can be seen landing in Infinity Nikki. This makes sense, Junimo’s being adorable little spirits that fit quite well within the cute aesthetic of Infinity Nikki, but the collaboration was met with surprise and criticism from some Stardew players.

Stardew Valley crossovers are quite rare! Back in 2022 there was a Terraria crossover, and relatively recently Stardew Valley made an appearance in Balatro. But aside from that, the farming simulator has been happy staying in its own lane.

Check out the crossover trailer for Infinity Nikki x Stardew Valley here!Watch on YouTube

In response to Concerned Ape’s post on the matter, the official Infinity Nikki account shared the team’s view of working on this collaboration. It reads: “We really appreciate you sharing your feelings on this. Any unintended stress was the last thing we wanted. It was our way of saying thanks – a free love letter to Stardew Valley from our team and for the community. Working on it felt like we were all tending a little farm together. The care and detail you pour into your world is exactly why we want to make cosy games too. We’re still learning from you every day.”

Should Barone be making some money off these crossovers? Probably, yeah. Though it is his choice ultimately whether he wants to financially benefit off such endeavors. It’s not as though Stardew Valley has been hurting for sales after all. As of December 2024 it has sold over 41m copies. I should hope Barone isn’t too concerned about the money.

This is a news-in-brief story. This is part of our vision to bring you all the big news as part of a daily live report.

Silicon Valley Throws $100M at AI-Powered Mattress With a Subscription

by admin August 21, 2025

In brief

  • Eight Sleep landed a $100M Series D from Founders Fund, Y Combinator, and F1 investors, pushing sales past $500M
  • It’s AI “Sleep Agent” system adjusts temperature and heart rate, but users gripe about leaks, glitches, and black-box data
  • Celebrity fan club includes Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and Scarlett Johansson—while Reddit calls it a “glorified water bed”

Eight Sleep, a startup that sells $3,000 AI-powered mattresses with a monthly subscription fee, just raised $100 million in Series D funding, hoping to bolster a relatively novel idea within the consumer discretionary sector.

The round—led by Founders Fund, Y Combinator, Valor Equity Partners, and HSG (formerly Sequoia China)—also drew investments from F1 driver Charles Leclerc and McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown.

The deal pushes the company’s valuation to about $500 million, with more than $500 million in Pod sales reported since launch.

Eight Sleep’s “Pod” system uses water-filled tubes in a mattress cover to adjust bed temperature between 55°F and 110°F (13-43 °C).

Built-in sensors track heart rate, breathing, and heart rate variability, which an AI system called Autopilot uses to tweak the environment in real time.

Prices start at $2,500 for the mattress topper, and climb over $4,000 for the whole system. Then there’s a $17–$25 monthly subscription for “advanced features”—because yes, even your mattress now needs a membership plan.

The company has amassed a high-profile fan base, including Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg. Scarlett Johansson swears by it, and biohacker Bryan Johnson, who spends $2M a year on anti-aging, is another user.

“This new funding enables us to accelerate the deployment of AI for sleep optimization, expand into medical applications like menopausal sleep and sleep apnea, and bring our technology to millions of people around the world,” CEO Matteo Franceschetti said in the announcement. The former lawyer, turned sleep obsessive, founded the company in 2014 after struggling with his own sleep issues.

But not all the feedback has been positive. On social media, users have shared stories about glitches that cause the system to stop working entirely, leaving them with an expensive, non-functional bed. Others have reported issues with water leaks and connectivity problems.

Woke up because my AI controlled bed is too cold. Went to adjust temperature and I can’t because the Eight Sleep app is currently broken. Can’t adjust by hand because I have a Pod3, not the upgraded Pod4 with physical controls.

Now I am stuck in a cold bed. This feels dystopian.

— Theo – t3.gg (@theo) June 16, 2025

The system’s AI has been called a “black box” by some users, who complain it does not provide transparent data.

Eight Sleep’s new funding will support the development of what it calls a “Sleep Agent,” an AI that will run thousands of nightly simulations to further refine a user’s rest. The company is also seeking FDA approval for medical applications of its technology, including treating menopausal hot flashes and sleep apnea..

The company says its AI models have processed over 1 billion hours of sleep data. With $100 million in fresh capital, the bet for Eight Sleep remains that its blend of hardware and software will continue to find a decent resting place, no matter the price.

Monument Valley, Hades and more leaving Netflix

by admin June 26, 2025

Netflix is removing a number of mobile games from its subscription service, including the Monument Valley titles and Hades.

The following games will be leaving the service in July:

  • Battleship
  • Braid, Anniversary Edition
  • Carmen Sandiego
  • CoComelon: Play with JJ
  • Death’s Door
  • Diner Out: Merge Cafe
  • Dumb Ways to Die
  • Ghost Detective
  • Hades
  • Katana ZERO
  • Lego Legacy: Heroes Unboxed
  • Ludo King
  • Monument Valley
  • Monument Valley 2
  • Monument Valley 3
  • Rainbow Six: SMOL

  • SpongeBob: Bubble Pop F.U.N.
  • TED Tumblewords
  • The Case of the Golden Idol

8 Hades Tips You Should Know Before Playing. Watch on YouTube

Hades – the widely (and rightly) praised indie roguelike from Supergiant games – will be leaving Netflix on 1st July.

“Greek gods bring family charm to this glittering headlong pelt through the underworld,” reads Eurogamer’s Hades review.

The remaining games will then leave the service on 14th July. That includes Monument Valley 3, which released exclusively on Netflix last year. The game, which sees players “quest through a series of mind-bending illusions and atmospheric puzzles”, will be released on Steam on 22nd July. On Valve’s platform, ustwo games is listed as both developer and publisher.

“At each stage it’s astonishingly beautiful, offering poised, perfectly balanced images and landscapes that you yearn to explore if the game would let you. But the rigours of how it unfolds are too tight. It doesn’t want to be ugly, or let you find your own solution, even if it’s a bodged solution,” reads Eurogamer’s Monument Valley 3 review.

As to why the games are being removed, in a statement shared with What’s on Netflix, the streaming service said: “Just like with series and film, games will be removed from Netflix as licenses expire. Players will notice a ‘Leaving Soon’ badge and be notified by the app itself well in advance of removal.”

Earlier this year, Netflix additionally announced it was removing its Black Mirror interactive special Bandersnatch from the service. In November of last year, a Netflix spokesperson confirmed to Eurogamer that “almost all” of its interactive titles would be leaving the service that December.

How To Get Married And Have Kids In Stardew Valley

by admin June 22, 2025

Stardew Valley allows you to start a new virtual life, moving to a small town to take over an abandoned farm. As part of this new life, you can develop relationships with the other townsfolk, and for some of them, you can even start a romantic relationship. There are a few hoops you will have to jump through to settle down with someone and start a family with them.

You will need to improve your relationship with people by giving them gifts they like. If you need a list, check out GameSpot’s All Stardew Valley characters, birthdays, and gifts guide, which details the favorite gifts of every character in Stardew Valley.

How to date in Stardew Valley

Pierre’s sells bouquets once you reach eight hearts with a marriage candidate.

Before you can propose marriage to someone, you need to date them for a bit. In order to date someone, you need to first reach eight hearts with one of the potential marriage candidates. Once you reach that cap, the following morning, Pierre will send you a letter informing you that bouquets are now being sold at his store for 200G. Giving this to a marriage candidate at eight hearts will act as a proposal to date. You can date multiple people without penalty, although there are special cutscenes related to dating every male or female marriage candidate.

How to get married in Stardew Valley

The Old Mariner appears on the eastern part of the beach when it is raining.

After you start dating a marriage candidate, the heart level cap is raised to level 10. Once you hit 10 with a marriage candidate, you will receive a letter from Lewis informing you that a Mermaid’s Pendant is the traditional way to propose marriage. In order to get one, you need to buy it for 5,000G from the Old Mariner. The Old Mariner appears on the eastern part of the beach, which is accessible after repairing the bridge with 300 wood. Once you have access to that area, he will appear on rainy days, but you have to do the first farmhouse upgrade and be at 10 hearts with a marriage candidate; otherwise, he won’t sell it to you.

After giving it to your future spouse, an icon will appear on the in-game calendar, marking the wedding day. After getting married, your spouse will move into your farmhouse, and the heart relationship level cap will be raised to the max. If you want to get divorced, you can find the option in the Mayor’s House for 50,000G. You cannot get married to multiple people at once.

How to have kids in Stardew Valley

You can have up to two total kids.

The option to have kids becomes available after getting married and purchasing at least the second upgrade for your house. Once the requirements are met, there is a chance to be prompted to either have kids or adopt them (depending on if you and your partner are the same gender), to which you can either say yes or “not now,” with the yes option resulting in a kid arriving 14 days later. You can have a total of two children, and it will always be one boy and one girl, and they never age past the toddler stage.

How to get rid of kids in Stardew Valley

Somewhat darkly, there’s also a way to remove your kids from your life. If you want to get rid of the children, you can do so by unlocking the late game area, The Witch’s Hut via the Goblin Problem quest. There you can use a Prismatic Shard to turn the children into doves, permanently getting rid of them, although your partner can prompt you to have children again afterwards, so long as you still meet the requirements.

How to give a clumsy villager his favorites in Disney Dreamlight Valley

by admin June 20, 2025

He may be clumsy, but at least he’s lovable.

Published: Jun 19, 2025 09:09 pm

Star Path events in Disney Dreamlight Valley are full of riddles for you to solve in exchange for redeeming reward tokens. One difficult example is giving a clumsy villager his favorites. Who is this mysterious clumsy villager, and what are the favorites the task is referring to?

That’s what we’re here to answer today. Let’s dive into exactly how to find a clumsy villager in Disney Dreamlight Valley, the best ways to give them their favorite gifts, and why you might want to do so.

How to find a clumsy villager in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The clumsy villager you’re looking for is Goofy. While some would argue that characters like Donald Duck and Olaf are clumsy, Goofy is the character you’ll have to give gifts to for this Star Path duty. By finding Goofy in Dreamlight Valley, Eternity Isle, or the Storybook Vale, you can give him three gifts and quickly knock out this duty without any issues.

Screenshot by Destructoid

If you can’t find Goofy anywhere, there’s usually one of three reasons. The first is that he’s asleep if you’re logging on between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. Outside these hours, you may not notice his portrait if he’s in a busy location, such as inside Chez Remy or Scrooge McDuck’s shop. Alternatively, if you have the Rift in Time or The Storybook Vale expansions, he may be roaming around Eternity Isle or the Vale rather than Dreamlight Valley.

What are the clumsy villager’s favorites in Disney Dreamlight Valley?

Goofy’s “favorites” refers to his three daily preferred gifts. Depending on the Star Path event, this can range from three to five required items. You can find this exact list in the Collection log under characters. Hovering over his portrait reveals his three favorite items for the day, which you can gift him to complete the Star Path task.

The exact requirements and rewards vary with each Star Path even you complete. During this task’s first appearance, Majesty and Magnolias, you received 20 tokens for gifting three favorite items to Goofy. With the more recent Adventures in Never Land Star Path, you obtained the same reward but need to give him five gifts instead of three.

In other words, you can complete this in one to two days if you gather all three gifts per day. Otherwise, if you’re missing one or two, you’ll have to wait another day to wrap up the task and claim your reward. Since events like Adventures in Never Land raise the objective to five gifts, you’ll need at least two to three days to finish this task instead. Plan ahead so you can complete this in time for the event’s end.

How to unlock Peter Pan in Disney Dreamlight Valley

by admin June 19, 2025

Before you can embark on the epic adventure to unlock Peter Pan in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you need to complete the Poetic License quest and have the A Forgotten Name quest available. To do this, you’ll need to meet the Forgotten anywhere in the valley, where they’ll tell you that they’ve found a red feather outside of Skull Rock, which the two of you should investigate.

When you talk again outside of Skull Rock on Dazzle Beach, you will be prompted to give them a name, and that will add them to the valley like a normal villager. From here, you’ll be able to enter Skull Rock and begin completing the quests you need to unlock Peter Pan.

How to complete the Shadows on the Wall quest

Once you’ve teamed up with the Forgotten, head into Skull Rock and explore. Wander around and look for anything hidden, such as chests, before heading back to the Forgotten. They’ll explain how they found a few pixie dust orbs, and you’ll then need to find three broken lanterns around Skull Rock to house them.

Related articles

You can find these in the following places:

  • Next to the Winches where you speak to the Forgotten the second time
  • Either side of the dock—you will need your rod to fish these two up

When you’ve gathered them all, you will need to find the following materials to mend the lanterns as part of the quest:

  • 3x Gold ingots
  • 9x Glass
  • 9x Vitalys Crystal

Now you’re ready to catch the three pixie dust orbs the Forgotten originally told you about. You can find these anywhere around the valley and they’ll put up quite a fight when you do track them down. I found them in the Glade of Trust, the Forest of Valor, and in the Forgotten Lands. Once you’ve snagged them out of mid-air, go to a crafting table and create three Pixie Dust Lanterns. Place them on the three winches next to the Forgotten in Skull Rock.

This will trigger a shadow to appear on the planks to the right, which looks suspiciously like Peter Pan. Interact with the Shadow to introduce yourself and he will try and show you something. But, because all three lights are on him, he can’t. Move the light closest to the next gate to face the doorway next to it, and speak three Jade skulls to the right of the gate to solve their riddles as the next part of the quest. Here are the answers you need.

Swipe to scroll horizontally

Riddle

Answer

I’m used to exploring the waters and shores, a swaying home atop the sea-foam. What am I?

A pirate ship

I’m a winged creature, small and bright, with magic dust to grant you flight. Don’t be fooled; I’ve courage twice my size. Date to doubt; that’s just unwise. What am I?

A pixie

I’m an instrument of wind, and for him I’ll always play as he laughs and grins to lead the way. What am I?

A pan flute

When you’ve answered all three correctly, you will be able to turn the winch to open the gate and end this quest.

How to complete the A Ship of Gold quest

Follow both the Shadow and the Forgotten through the gate, and then speak to the Forgotten. They will tell you that you need to look for another winch, which can be found to your right buried by a barrel. You will need to use your pickaxe to break the jagged rocks and reveal some pixie dust, a pixie dust orb, and said winch.

Follow the pixie dust orb as it flies around and collect the pixie dust it guides you to. This is usually hidden beneath the jagged rocks, so you will once again need to use your pickaxe to break them. When you’ve collected all six pixie dust drops and the pixie dust orb, you’ll need to use that dust to make something fly, namely: the giant ship in the middle of Skull Rock. Interact with the boat, and you will be able to add in the six pixie dust to make it float. When it’s in the air, head across the boat to speak with the Forgotten once again.

They will then tell you how the barrels in front of you look suspicious, as if they could be part of a puzzle. Match the symbols by rotating the barrels to face one another in the following order:

  • Hook and Clock
  • Sewing Needle and Shadow
  • Pixie and Bell

This will unlock the Captain’s Key from the barrel behind the Forgotten. Once you’ve grabbed it, head down to the Captain’s Cabin on the bottom floor of the ship. There is another winch on the floor in the middle of the room. Pick this up, and take it back to where you retrieved the Captain’s Key. Place here, and interact with it to complete the quest.

How to complete The Music’s On the Walls quest

For this final quest, speak to the Forgotten and they will mention that the Shadow is gesturing to something, before instructing you to follow a glowing musical note. A silver key will also appear on the ground next to the Forgotten that you need to pick up before you begin the chase. Catch the note by the ship, pick up the memory, and go back into the Captain’s Cabin to unlock the chest.

You’ll receive a treasure map, which you need to report to the Forgotten. If you hadn’t guessed, it’s now your responsibility to find the five musical notes and the hidden treasure buried on the map. Leave Skull Rock and use the off-shore raft to go to a separate island and dig up the buried treasure to the left of where you arrive on the island. You’ll get a Pan Pipe alongside a number of gems and ingots. As for the glowing musical notes, head to the following areas to find them:

  • Dream Castle
  • Dazzle Beach – Ursula’s Cave
  • Skull Rock – Jade Skulls
  • Frosted Heights – Olaf’s Cave
  • Forgotten Lands – Treehouse surrounded by Night Thorns

Take it all back to the Forgotten and you’ll be prompted to place the Pan Pipe you retrieved from the buried treasure and the glowing notes onto the music stand in front of you. Now, match the glowing notes on the walls either side of the music stand with the ones on the sheet in front of you. You can do this by pressing the buttons on the floor to raise or lower the notes. Interact with the Pan Pipe back at the stand, and the Shadow will fly across the top of your screen, knocking the notes down.

Speak to the Forgotten once again, and the two of you will come up with a plan to trap the Shadow. You need to craft another Pixie Dust lamp to do this, but the Forgotten will give you the broken lamp to use as a component, so you only need to gather glass, Vitalys crystals, and a gold ingot. Return with the fixed lamp and angle all three lanterns to shine their light at the wall directly in front of the music stand to trap the shadow, and then readjust the notes on the walls to complete the puzzle again. Play the pan pipe again, and Peter will appear.

However, he won’t want to move to the valley right away. Instead, he will initiate a game of hide and seek to prove you are still a child at heart. You can ask villagers for clues or follow the pixie dust trail, but if you don’t fancy the wild goose chase, head straight to the Dark Castle. He’s hidden behind some night thorns right at the very top.

When you speak to him, he will agree to live in the valley but ask you to help him find his shadow. Don’t worry though, he gives you the house before this so you can unlock him, before going on any other wild quests. Place the house and unlock it with the sign for 20,000 Star Coins and you’ll now be able to hang out with Peter Pan whenever your heart desires.

Monument Valley 3 breaks free from Netflix on July 22

by admin June 8, 2025

Monument Valley 3 is finally coming to more platforms, after being a Netflix exclusive since December. The game will be released on July 22 for PC, Switch, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Remember, Switch games are playable on Switch 2, so it should also technically be available on Nintendo’s new console.

Monument Valley 3 is considered a solid entry in the franchise, with plenty of fresh puzzles that play with perspective. You navigate a character through bizarre mazes and strangely-designed levels.

These games are partially inspired by artists like M.C. Escher, as the pathways don’t necessarily follow the laws of physics. It’s a whole lot of fun, and sort of plays like a more psychedelic version of the Switch exclusive Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker.

The third entry in the franchise brings in a new gameplay mechanic in the form of a sailboat that freely moves between sections. The vibes are top-tier, with gorgeous art and a great ambient soundtrack. We don’t have a price yet, as Monument Valley 3 was free with a Netflix subscription, but Monument Valley 2 ranged from $5 to $8 depending on the platform.

This news comes from today’s Wholesome Direct livestream, which happens during Summer Game Fest. The announcements are coming in fast and hot from SGF, so stay on top of things right here.

All Critters favorite foods in Disney Dreamlight Valley

by admin June 4, 2025

There are a lot of adorable critters running around the Valley and Eternity Isle in Disney Dreamlight Valley, and each of them has its own unique tastes and behaviour. Each critter can become a companion if they trust you enough, but earning that trust is easier said than done.

Whether you’re desperate for a Raccoon to follow you everywhere you go or want a Cobra to be your best bud, you need to learn their likes and dislikes as well as how to approach each animal.

While some critters don’t mind your presence, others will repeatedly run away and entice you into chasing them. There’s a lot to remember, but it soon becomes second nature, especially for your personal favorites. Let’s uncover every Disney Dreamlight Valley critter’s favorite foods and some tips for approaching each animal.

How to befriend critters in Dreamlight Valley

How to feed Squirrels

Image by Destructoid LocationFavorite foodHow to approachPlazaPeanutsSquirrels don’t run away, so you can simply approach them directly.

Squirrels are the first critters you’ll encounter in Disney Dreamlight Valley. They live in the Plaza and have a preference for peanuts. You can purchase peanuts from Remy’s restaurant shop. Squirrels won’t run away from you when you approach them, letting you freely interact and feed them.

How to feed Rabbits

Image by Destructoid LocationFavorite foodHow to approachPeaceful MeadowCarrotsRabbits will run away three times. Chase after them until you can interact with them.

Next up is rabbits, who you’ll mainly find in Peaceful Meadow early in your playthrough. Their favorite food is carrots, which you can purchase from Goofy’s stall or grow from seeds you obtain from the Meadow’s Night Thorns. Unlike squirrels, you’ll have to chase rabbits around three times before they stop and let you feed them.

How to feed Turtles

Image by Destructoid LocationFavorite foodHow to approachDazzle BeachSeaweedAs you approach, a Turtle will hide inside its shell. Wait a few moments until it reappears before interacting with them.

On the right side of Disney Dreamlight Valley’s map is Dazzle Beach, a coastal biome that houses adorable sea turtles. Their favorite food is seaweed, which you can find in any biome. Your best strategy for obtaining this resource is to avoid bubbling ripples while fishing.

The sea turtle is the first critter you need to be cautious around. As you approach it, it’ll hide in its shell for a few second before reappearing. When the turtle hides, stop moving for a second and wait for it to reveal itself again before moving again. Repeat this until you’re in range to feed it.

How to feed Raccoons

Image by Destructoid LocationFavorite foodHow to approachForest of ValorBlueberriesApproach only when the Raccoon’s head is down, or they will run away. Interact once you are close enough.

Right above Dazzle Beach is the Forest of Valor, a wooded region full of raccoons. Raccoons love their regional food, with blueberries being their favorite. You’ll find blueberries inside bushes scattered around the forest.

As you enter their detection range, they’ll go on alert, searching the area for predators and fleeing when it finds one. In this case, it’s you. As they do this, stop moving until their head’s down before continuing to move, repeating until you’re within the raccoon’s range. It’ll then become passive, letting you feed it some blueberries.

How to feed Crocodiles

Image by Destructoid LocationFavorite foodHow to approachGlade of TrustLobsterApproach only when the Crocodile’s head is down, or they will run away. Interact once you are close enough.

On the opposite side of the map is our first mid-game region, the Glade of Trust. Within the glade, you’ll find several crocodiles waiting to eat their favorite food, lobsters. You can find lobsters by fishing in orange fishing spots within the Glade of Trust.

The crocodile has an identical movement and detection pattern to raccoons. Its head will go up once you’re in range, so you’ll need to wait until relaxes before approaching.

How to feed Foxes

Image by Destructoid LocationFavorite foodHow to approachFrosted HeightsWhite SturgeonFoxes will run away three times. Chase after them until you can interact with them.

Directly north of the Forest of Valor is Frosted Heights, a frozen tundra where you’ll find numerous foxes. The fox’s favorite food is the White Sturgeon, a rare fish you catch by fishing in orange spots within Frosted Heights.

The fox has the same movement and detection pattern as rabbits. They’ll run away as you approach, so keep chasing them down until they relax, allowing you to feed them some White Sturgeon and take one step closer to recruiting them as companions.

How to feed Sunbirds

Image by Destructoid Color variantFavorite foodEmerald SunbirdGreen or yellow HouseleekGolden SunbirdOrange or purple HouseleekOrchid SunbirdPink or purple HouseleekRed SunbirdRed or purple HouseleekTurquoise SunbirdPink or green Houseleek

Sunbirds are a critter native to Sunlit Plateau, the desert-like region north of the Glade of Trust. They differ from other critters, as each differently colored Sunbird has it’s own favorite food. Their favorite food is Houseleek, a flower also found on Sunlit Plateau, with the bird’s wing color determining the exact type.

Sunbirds are friendly critters that will approach you without hesitation, much like squirrels. By the time you collect a few Houseleeks, you’ll likely already have one nearby, ready to eat. If not, chase one down until it stops and lets you feed it some flowers.

How to feed Ravens

Image by Destructoid LocationFavorite foodHow to approachForgotten LandsAny five-star mealSimply walk up to them, as Ravens don’t fly away upon approaching them.

Our last critter within Disney Dreamlight Valley’s base game is the raven, an animal only found within the Forgotten Lands. They have an expensive taste, with five-star meals being their favorite food. Like squirrels and sunbirds, you can easily walk up to them to feed them.

The easiest five-star meal to produce is a Large Seafood Platter, as it simply requires four Shellfish—Clams, Oysters or Scallops from Dazzle Beach’s shores—and a Lemon, which can be foraged from trees in the Forest of Valor or Glade of Trust.

How to feed Monkeys

Our first Rift in Time critter is monkeys that reside in Ancient’s Landing. Their favorite food is the banana split, which you can create using the following ingredients:

  • Slush Ice
  • Banana
  • Milk
  • Sugarcane
  • Any sweets

They have the same movement pattern as rabbits and foxes. Once you approach them, they’ll mischievously run away. Continue chasing it until it stops and lets you feed it some delicious banana splits.

How to feed Cobras

Next is the Cobra, a critter native to the Glittering Dunes. Their favorite food is eggs, which you can easily buy from the Chez Remy restaurant’s kitchen shop. Like raccoons and crocodiles, you’ll need to watch its head while approaching it.

How to feed Capybaras

Image by Destructoid LocationFavorite foodHow to approachWild TangleCabbageJust walk up to them. Capybaras don’t run away when approached.

Our final A Rift in Time critter is the capybaras of the Wild Tangle. Their favorite food is cabbages, available from Goofy’s Wild Tangle stalls. Like the real world, capybaras are chill creatures. You don’t need to watch for any special movement patterns with them. Just walk up to them and give them a cabbage to make them happy.

How to befriend critters in Storybook Vale

How to feed owls

Image by Destructoid LocationFavorite foodHow to approachThe BindBarleyJust walk up to them. Owls don’t run away when you approach them.

Our next set of animals are those from the Storybook Vale, with The Bind’s owls being the first you’ll encounter. Their favorite food is barley, a grain purchased from Goofy’s stall in The Bind. Like regular birds in Disney Dreamlight Valley’s base game, you can walk up to owls and feed them without them going on alert or flying away.

How to feed Pegasuses

LocationFavorite foodHow to approachMythopiaFour-star vegetable-based mealsThe Pegasus will run away when you approach. Chase after it until you can interact with them.

Next is the Pegasus, an adorable critter that runs around Mythopia. They have a peculiar diet, eating only four-star or higher meals that are vegetable-based. If there’s any meat within the dish, they won’t be a fan.

Like rabbits and foxes, Pegasuses will run away as you approach them. You’ll need to chase them down to tire them out, letting you feed them some food and get another step closer to unlocking every critter as a companion.

How to feed baby dragons

LocationFavorite foodHow to approachEverafterPure Ice and MagmaApproach only when the dragon’s head is down, or they will run away. Interact once you are close enough.

Our last Storybook Vale critter is the baby dragons within Everafter. They have two favorite dishes—Pure Ice and Magma—that you can find within Everafter and Mythopia. Unlike owls and Pegasuses, they’ll go on alert as you approach them, so watch their head patterns and move carefully to avoid scaring them.

Over time, you’ll notice that every animal has different colors and appearances. Although this doesn’t affect their behavior and favorite food, you can unlock each variant as unique companions. However, they only appear at specific times, so knowing every Disney Dreamlight Valley critter’s schedule will help narrow down your search.
