Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time Remake Shows Signs Of Life With Small Update

by admin June 17, 2025

Ubisoft has provided an update on its long-in-development remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. No, it’s not a release date, but it is confirmation that the game is, in fact, still happening.

A new post from the official Prince of Persia X account frankly states,

“Yep, we’re still deep in the game — exploring, building, and ensuring the sands move with purpose. This game is being crafted by a team that truly cares, and they’re pouring their hearts (and a lot of coffee) into every step. Thank you for sticking with us.”

Additionally, the post shares a new piece of artwork (posted in the header above).

It’s a rare update for the troubled title, which was first announced in September 2020. The remake of the 2003 classic was originally in development at Ubisoft’s Indian studios in Mumbai and Pune with a planned launch in early 2021. The game was initially billed as a ground-up remake with improved textures and lighting, modernized combat, new cinematics, and re-recorded dialogue from the original voice actors (including Prince actor Yuri Lowenthal).

A few months after its reveal, the game was delayed a few months, then postponed indefinitely. In 2022, development was transferred to Ubisoft Montreal, the studio behind the original Sands of Time, which effectively reset its development. During Ubisoft Forward in 2024, the publisher announced a 2026 launch window for the remake, and it’s unclear what the new scope of its improvements will be.

When it was announced, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake was slated to launch on last-gen consoles and PC. It’s unclear if the game will still launch on those platforms, as one would imagine development would shift to current hardware. Until we learn more, you can watch us revisit the original game in this episode of Replay.  Be sure to also check out our review of the last Prince of Persia title, 2024’s The Lost Crown, here.  You can also read our preview for another upcoming spin-off, The Rogue Prince of Persia, which is slated to launch out of Early Access in August.

GPU-disabled Ryzen 9000F support suspected in AGESA firmware update

by admin June 16, 2025

Rumors suggest that AMD might include Ryzen 9000 F-series support, or at the very least support for the Ryzen 7 9700F, in the upcoming AGESA microcode update 1.2.0.3e. Spotted by HXL on X, the firmware update allegedly sports “upcoming CPU compatibility,” according to an Asus BIOS update sporting the new microcode.

HXL provided additional context by linking to a ChipHell forum post where several posters believe AGESA 1.2.0.3e will support upcoming F-series Ryzen 9000 parts. Hugable Carrot in the aforementioned forum post wrote: “I checked here and found that AGESA 1203E does support a new model of 9 series without core graphics…”

Resident leaker on X, MegasizeGPU, also responded to HXL’s post, saying: “9700F, I guess”.

If the rumors are true, AMD will be launching either a lineup of F-series Ryzen 9000 series parts, or just the Ryzen 7 9700F, possibly sometime later this year. The F signifies a CPU model in AMD’s lineup that sports disabled integrated graphics, though Intel uses the same letter for the same purpose with its own CPUs as well. Selling CPUs with disabled graphics allows AMD to recycle bad chips that might have a perfectly working CPU, but defective integrated graphics, improving yields and reducing waste.

If AMD goes through with a Ryzen 7 9700F, it will undoubtedly be a graphicsless counterpart to the Ryzen 7 9700X, sporting eight Zen 5 CPU cores and 32MB of L3 cache. Ever since AMD started adding RDNA 2 integrated graphics to the SoC chiplet starting with Ryzen 7000, the company has been capable of making F-series versions of its high-performance desktop chiplet-based Ryzen CPUs in addition to its monolithic Ryzen APUs. Previously, F-series parts always signified a Ryzen APU based on a monolithic die, since those were the only Ryzen chips that had integrated graphics capabilities before the Ryzen 7000 series.

The Ryzen 7 9700F will represent the highest-end F-series part AMD has ever created (assuming it goes on sale). Up until now, AMD has had four F-series SKUs since the Ryzen 7000 series launch: two chiplet-style based, featuring the Ryzen 5 7400F and Ryzen 5 7500F, and two monolithic models, the Ryzen 5 8400F and Ryzen 7 8700F. The main difference between the monolithic and chiplet-style parts is the neutered 16MB of L3 cache on the monolithic APU models. By contrast, AMD’s Ryzen chiplet-style CPUs always have 32MB of L3 cache (not counting 3D V-Cache).

Potential new chips aside, AGESA microcode update 1.2.0.3e also rectifies a security vulnerability with Pluton TPM and AMD’s built-in fTPM that could allow attackers to disrupt the TPM’s functionality and/or gain access to sensitive data within the TPM.

Rematch June 16 update patch notes bring Rainbow Flick buff & fix netcode issues

by admin June 16, 2025

Rematch has officially arrived in early access, and it comes with an update to address some of the issues raised during the beta, including buffing the rainbow flick and fixing some netcode problems.

Whether you’re a fan of football, Rocket League, or both, chances are you’ve had your eye on Rematch, the new competitive 5v5 game from the team behind Sifu. Throughout its multiple betas, it’s received plenty of buzz, including from fans of EA SPORTS FC who are looking for something a little different.

But while these betas did a great job of getting players on board, they also highlighted some issues with the moment-to-moment gameplay. Now, as it launches in early access, an update has arrived to address some of these problems.

Here are the complete patch notes for the Rematch June 16 update.

Check out the full patch notes below, as shared by the devs on the official website:

Rainbow Flick

In response to the feedback gathered during the second beta, we reverted some modifications we made on the rainbow flick. The first interaction with the ball using the volley variation of the rainbow flick should be as fast and fluid as experienced in the first beta while some balancing changes still apply to chained flicks to avoid keeping the ball out of play for too long.

Mouse and keyboard tap

We corrected a lot of bugs and improved the overall feeling of the new tap aiming system on mouse and keyboard. Now it should be easier to aim 360 degrees around the character, without the aiming being “sticky” in some directions or going in the opposite direction from where you wanted to aim.

While using the new system, please remember that it requires you to consider the mouse as a joystick, so moving your mouse diagonally and not only horizontally will help you nail every angle. We are still closely monitoring this new system, and already have plans to keep improving it in the next updates.

Mouse and keyboard remapping

Remapping is now available for mouse and keyboard! You can remap inputs the way you want, and even choose to use or not the “modifier” option which rebinds lobbed actions on 2 inputs (modifier + tap, or pushball) instead of one.

You might encounter some bugs while using the remapping feature, but we’ll try to fix them as quickly as possible.

Controller remapping is also coming later this season, as well as more advanced remapping options.

Minecraft’s “Vibrant Visuals” update finally has a release date

by admin June 15, 2025

Minecraft’s Vibrant Visuals update finally has a release date: 17th June.

We’ve known for some time that Mojang was planning on a visual overhaul for Minecraft, and yesterday (14th June), the studio released a new video not only reminding us just what Vibrant Visuals brings to the game, improving “visual elements such as directional lighting, volumetric fog, and more”, but also how the team achieved it.

MINECRAFT’S VISUAL REFRESH!Watch on YouTube

And the new feature really does elevate the world of Minecraft. As the developer explains, “every biome has their own atmosphere”, so warmer biomes will look more orange and yellowish, while cooler ones will take on a crisper blue appearance.

“This is a visual enhancement – there are no changes to Minecraft’s gameplay,” Mojang said. “For example, visual shadows will not impact light levels in a game-mechanics sense, or affect where hostile mobs spawn. Vibrant Visuals will be easy to access and approachable for many more Minecraft players, as it will be available on many platforms as a simple menu toggle.”

“This is a start on this journey of modernising the look and feel of Minecraft,” explained Vibrant Visuals Lead, Dejan Dimic. “So we look forward to hearing more feedback from the players.”

Vibrant Visuals is coming to supported devices for those running Minecraft Bedrock Edition, and if your device can run it, you can expect the new feature to be on by default once it updates. It still isn’t yet available for Java, but Mojang insists it’s “actively working” on it.

Did you catch the news that the roster of Sonic Racing CrossWorlds is expanding outside of the Sonic universe to include other Sega characters and beyond? As announced at last week’s Summer Game Fest, joining the likes of Sonic, Tails and Knuckles, will be Joker from Persona 5, Ichiban from the Like A Dragon games, Vocaloid artist Hatsune Miku, and – the reason why I’m making this seemingly nonsensical tangent – Steve from Minecraft, too.

It is, of course, a flagship year for Minecraft, thanks to the unbridled popularity of its cinema-trashing live-action movie adaptation.

GTA Online's next update will let you pull off a classic, if slightly dull, type of crime: money laundering

GTA Online’s next update will let you pull off a classic, if slightly dull, type of crime: money laundering

by admin June 15, 2025

I feel like money laundering is one of those concepts you see in a lot of crime TV shows but it’s not really something that seems to come up much in games. I certainly can’t think of any games that feature money laundering as an actual mechanic, but I’ll be able to add one to the list next week: GTA Online. The multiplayer game is getting a new update this coming June 17th called Money Fronts, and is literally all about buying up small but generally lucrative businesses that you can sneak some money through.

There’s a few businesses you’ll be able to pick up but you’ll be starting off with a classic: the car wash, specifically Hands On Car Wash. You’ll get passive income through this from your criminal network, eventually allowing you to pick up the Smoke on the Water dispensary and Higgins Helitours, all of which will also bring in their own money from actual, legal business operations.

However, with the pro of lots of moola, there is a big con too. Operating these businesses this way will generate heat, and if that gets too high, you’ll have to actually step in as the local business owner you’re pretending to be to manage these companies the way they’re legally meant to be.

There’s a few new rides you can pick up too, like the Karin Everon RS or the Declasse Tampa GT (Muscle). Money Fronts is also bringing in some gameplay tweaks. More than 50 vehicles will have missile lock-on jammer capability, and all sources of arena points are being doubled. A number of cutscenes will be skippable on mission replays too, though which ones that’ll be weren’t specified.

More details will be coming, uh, at some point, Rockstar just said “stay tuned”. You only have to wait a few days for it anyway, you’ll live.

MindsEye gets patch update to make the dang game work

by admin June 14, 2025

Starting Friday, June 13, MindsEye will receive a series of hotfixes to optimize “performance and stability so that every player, across every device, can enjoy an equally high-quality experience.” The developer says a crashing issue was caused by a memory leak, and the first hotfix will address that as well.

The second hotfix will come sometime during the week of Monday, June 16, and will continue to address performance issues and the specific bug of wheels not spinning while driving. A third hotfix, coming later in June, will bring animation fixes, improvements to enemy AI, and (you guessed it) further improvements to performance and optimization.

“We will continue to provide frequent and transparent updates. Our team is committed to do everything possible to urgently action your feedback” the developers wrote on X. Build a Rocket Boy has a long road ahead of it to redeem MindsEye and make it more of a Cyberpunk 2077 and less of a The Lord of the Rings: Gollum.

Below are the full patch notes for the first hotfix:

MindsEye hotfix patch notes

Please note: This patch also fixes the memory leak issue that has been causing most crashes reported by players. Performance optimisation is our number one focus and an ongoing commitment that will take further time.

Two Point Museum’s latest update adds memorial exhibits for staff who vanish on expeditions, which you can put on display or sell for cold, hard profit

by admin June 14, 2025

It may not have caught the same attention as Clair Obscur or Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, but Two Point Museum is quietly one of the best games released this year. Two Point Studio’s latest management sim is comfortably its best yet, and a game that nudges the genre forward in small but meaningful ways. A big part of that is down to its expedition system, where you dispatch different brands of boffins on adventures to retrieve ancient, exotic artifacts for display.

This feature also happens to be at the heart of Two Point Museum’s summer update, which targets the adventurers who fail to return from your relic hunting missions. Now, when one of your experts goes missing, you’ll be granted a memorial exhibit that you can place inside your museum to commemorate the loss.

While hardly the sunniest new feature Two Point Studios could have added given the season, it is neat. Memorials vary depending on the MIA staff’s rank, role and gender, ranging from simple plaques for low-ranking staff, to glittering statues for your most intrepid explorers. You can display these like any other exhibit, but if you don’t want to recognise the deeds of your MIA experts, you can also just sell them so you can expand your gift shop filled with tat.

Related articles

In any case, it’s a clever way of ensuring you never come away from an expedition empty-handed. Memorials aside, the update also overhauls the underlying expedition system, aiming to reduce randomisation so players don’t have to repeat the same expedition ad nauseum to retrieve every available artifact. Two Point Studios says it’s using a “phased approach” to adding this feature in, starting with eight specific expedition locations on the map.

Two Point Museum: Update 3.0 Trailer | OUT NOW ON STEAM! – YouTube

Watch On

Elsewhere, the update adds 30 new posters to decorate your cafeterias and gift shops with, while also making several tweaks to the security simulation. Thieves who manage to nab one of your exhibits will now lug it around in a backpack, making it easier to tell the difference between infiltrating and exfiltrating robbers. In addition, burglars who have been revealed but haven’t nicked anything yet will play “more suspicious animations”.

All of this comes with the usual array of balance tweaks and bug fixes. You can now expect your robot staff to get their perks installed properly, while subtitles for the in-game radio show should now pause with the rest of the game. My favourite fix simply reads “added improvements to the Ransom Message”. Nothing like adding an air of mystery to your changelog.

If you’ve yet to check out Two Point Museum among 2025’s deluge of games, I thoroughly recommend that you do. Mollie was similarly enchanted by it in her Two Point Museum review, calling it ” one of the neatest, most approachable management sims in recent memory”.

Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time gets a visual boost thanks to Switch 2 update

by admin June 14, 2025

Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time has received an update that offers visual improvements when played on the Switch 2, a nice bonus for fans who want to pick up and play the RPG on the new console.

These improvements include graphic enhancements such as new shadow and reflection efforts, as well as an extension to the distance objects are rendered at. For example, you can now see a forest off into the distance clearly, whereas before it may have looked like a low-poly blur of green shrubbery.

In the official update blog post uploaded to the games’ official website, we see that exact example in a side-by-side comparison, as well as a pair of screenshots showing water effects on the Switch vs the Switch 2. Water now has lovely reflections of light on it. A little thing for some, but a little boost for those willing to make the leap to a new console, cosy RPG in hand.

You can check out an official Fantasy Life I trailer here!Watch on YouTube

Other features of this update include an automatic lock-on feature that should make combat a little easier, as well as an adjustment to the Hagram build feature allowing players to press the cancel button and return a moved object to its original position.

God’s Touch was adjusted too! It can now be cancelled by attacking or dodging, plus the button assigned to activating God’s Touch has been relocated on the game pad. Game pad users also have an increased selection of key configurations, and all players can benefit from a new depth of field graphical option.

For those unaware, Fantasy Life i; The Girl Who Steals Time is a very popular RPG that got off to an outstanding start, selling 500,000 copies in just three days. In response to this success, the developers offered free DLCthat included new recipes and expanded content earlier this year.

inZOI is on sale for the first time to celebrate the big June update

by admin June 13, 2025

It seems like things are getting exciting in the world of inZOI once again, after what felt like months of no comms and some patch delays. Earlier this week, the team behind the life sim finally announced a release date for its next update.

What was initially billed as the May update missed that window by quite a margin, but was officially given a proper release date – in June – just a few days ago. Update v0.2.0 arrives today, and with it, a discount that could maybe tempt those who have yet to jump in.

To see this content please enable targeting cookies.

Manage cookie settings

This is inZOI’s first-ever discount since its release back in March. It’s part of a larger sale for publisher Krafton, which also happens to be the company’s first publisher sale on Steam. 17 titles from the publisher’s catalogue are on sale from now until Thursday, June 26.

Sale percentages vary, and in inZOI’s case, the discount is a bit meagre, slashing the price by just 10%. Now, the game is still in Early Access, and never had the price of a AAA title to begin with, so it’s not exactly the sort of thing to get a bigger 20-30% off – at least not quite yet.

Watch on YouTube

The latest inZOI patch introduces official mod support to the game in the form of ModKit, adds same-sex relationships, the ability for Zois to have – and adopt – children, and much more besides.

Things are popping off elsewhere in the world of life sims and The Sims-likes, too. Paralives, a highly-anticipated, long-in-development Sims-like, recently set a release date for its Steam Early Access launch. The Sims 4 itself just dropped the first trailer for Enchanted by Nature, the game’s next expansion which is set to arrive in July.

      • With this change, the damage dealt simultaneously by a direct cannon shot and the explosion is reduced from 90.0 to 80.0.
  • Added a Series Weapon feature to Anarchy Battle (Series) for Rank S and higher.
    • In Anarchy Battle (Series) for Rank S or higher, Series Weapon Power will be measured for each weapon players equip. They will be matched with other players whose Series Weapon Power is similar to theirs for the currently equipped weapon.
    • Series Weapon Power is the same for all four modes.
    • Players can check their current Series Weapon Power for each weapon by pressing the ZL Button on the Equip screen to display the weapon’s details.
    • Series Weapon Power resets each time the season changes, but the highest value players have achieved will be recorded in SplatNet 3.
  • In Anarchy Battle (Open), increased the amount of change in Rank Points per battle by approximately 2.5x.
  • Made it so that call signs, which are automatically determined using factors such as equipped gear, will display in X Battles in place of nicknames.
    • After the battle ends, you can check players’ actual nicknames and IDs (the string of numbers and letters starting with #) on screens for checking results, such as the match menu and the lobby terminal.
    • For X Rankings, players’ actual nicknames and IDs will display.

Changes to SplatNet 3

  • Players’ Best Nine will now display.
    • “Best Nine” indicates the nine weapons with the highest Series Weapon Power out of all the weapons a player owns.
  • Best Nine rankings will now display.
    • Best Nine rankings are rankings where players compete for total Series Weapon Power for their Best Nine.
  • Notifications from SplatNet 3 will now display in the notifications box within the Nintendo Switch App.

Other Changes

  • Increased the maximum value for weapon Freshness to 10★.
    • Players can earn new badges for weapons by achieving Freshness 6★ to 10★.
    • Once the update has been applied, weapons that had received XP beyond the maximum value before applying the update will have their Freshness increase after one battle by an amount proportionate to the amount of XP received up to this point.
  • Added new badges players can acquire based on the number of weapons with Freshness ★★★★ or higher.
  • Made it so that other players a player has battled with in Anarchy Battle (Series) and Splatfest Battle (Pro) will not display in the Users You Have Played With system feature of Nintendo Switch/Nintendo Switch 2 consoles.

As a bonus update, in this update we added weapons and a stage, increased the maximum Freshness, implemented a Series Weapon feature for Anarchy Battle (Series), added a call sign feature to X Battles, and performed optimization of operations on Nintendo Switch 2.

For Anarchy Battle (Series), we implemented a new Series Weapon feature targeted toward players Rank S or higher.

With this feature, the Series Weapon Power will be measured for each weapon currently equipped, and players will be matched up against others with similar levels of power.

We implemented this feature in hopes that players will enjoy battling using a variety of weapons, including the Splatlands Collection – Barazushi / Emberz weapons added in this update.

Additionally, we made balance changes to multiplayer battles.

For S-BLAST ’92 and S-BLAST ’91, we have made adjustments to give players fighting against them more room to counter because, from the opponent’s point of view, there seemed to be no openings at any distance.

For the Crab Tank, we lowered the maximum damage of the cannon to decrease the frequency that the person being attacked is defeated without any opportunity to evade. We also made it easier for other special weapons to fight against the Crab Tank.

For Toxic Mist, we have reduced the amount of ink consumed to make it easier to fight in combination with main weapons. On the other hand, we have simultaneously extended the time before ink begins to recover so that this change does not lead to tactics where players simply continuously throw their sub weapons.

The next update will focus on multiplayer balance based on analysis of changes to the situation that come with these weapon additions.
