Robo.ai turns smart cars into economic actors with built-in digital wallet

by admin October 4, 2025

Robo.ai has unveiled a prototype where a vehicle’s unique VIN forms the core of its compliant digital wallet, merging the car’s legal identity with its new capacity for economic activity.

Summary

  • Robo.ai and Changer.ae unveiled Roboy339, a smart car with a regulated digital wallet tied to its VIN.
  • The prototype enables autonomous payments for tolls, charging, maintenance, and leasing.
  • Backed by $300 million funding, the project aims to scale the model to aircraft, taxis, and logistics vehicles, forming a machine-driven digital economy.

In a press release dated Oct. 3, Robo.ai Inc. and Abu Dhabi-based custodian Changer.ae announced the joint unveiling of “Roboy339,” a smart vehicle prototype, at the TOKEN2049 event.

The demonstration marks the first public showcase of a car equipped with its own natively integrated, regulated digital wallet, a project born from a strategic partnership forged between the two firms this past August.

From prototype to blueprint for the machine economy

The Roboy339 prototype is designed to function as a self-sufficient financial entity. Its compliant digital wallet, secured by Changer.ae’s ADGM-regulated custody, enables the vehicle to conduct autonomous, real-time micropayments for essential services, according to the press release.

This includes settling tolls, paying for charging sessions, financing its own maintenance, and even processing lease payments. The system also allows the vehicle to receive authorized income, creating a closed-loop economy where the asset can theoretically earn revenue to offset its own operational costs.

Per the statement, the broader ambition is to extend this framework beyond a single prototype. Robo.ai and Changer.ae plan to connect other devices such as eVTOL aircraft, autonomous taxis, and unmanned logistics vehicles to the same ecosystem. The goal is to create a foundation where machines act as economic agents, carrying their own digital identities and participating in financial markets at scale.

“The era of autonomous economics for intelligent devices is upon us. The name Roboy339 is derived from the last three digits of its unique VIN number — it is not only its bank account but also its digital ID. With the support of investors, partners, manufacturers, financial institutions, and regulators, Robo.ai stands at the intersection of the ‘machine economy’ and the ‘digital economy’,” Robo.ai CEO Benjamin Zhai said.

This ambitious vision is backed by significant capital. The development follows Robo.ai’s recent announcement that it secured approximately $300 million in strategic investment from U.S. firm Burkhan Capital LLC.

Modder turns Lego Game Boy into real working handheld

by admin October 2, 2025

The Lego Game Boy set was officially released on October 1, 2025, but one modder has already gone further than Lego and Nintendo. Australian creator Natalie the Nerd has turned the brick-built handheld into a functioning console.

Lego first announced the 421-piece Game Boy replica at San Diego Comic-Con in July, with preorders opening the same month.

The set, priced at $59.99, includes swappable cartridges styled after Super Mario Land and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, along with lenticular screens that simulate motion. While the buttons press and the cartridges slot in, Lego confirmed the model was never intended to play games.

Article continues after ad

Now, one modder has managed to turn the sought-after Lego set into a playable device straight out of the ’90s.

Modder makes Lego Game Boy play actual games

Instead of using an emulator or Raspberry Pi, she designed and built a custom circuit board with genuine Game Boy chips, small enough to fit inside the Lego shell.

Article continues after ad

The biggest change is that the screen is backlit, making it a lot easier to see while playing a game on it.

The build plays real cartridges, supports working buttons, and charges via USB-C with a rechargeable battery. She told The Verge she had to remove a few bricks to fit in the smallest available display kit, and is currently working on mounting the buttons to a 3D-printed Lego-compatible piece.

Article continues after ad

The project is still in progress, but Natalie confirmed she plans to release the design once it’s finalized. Already known in the modding scene for aftermarket Game Boy components, she said the Lego version will eventually join her shared circuit board projects.

Amazon Turns To AI Snoop Dogg To Save Failed Cloud Gaming Service

Amazon Turns To AI Snoop Dogg To Save Failed Cloud Gaming Service

by admin October 2, 2025

Luna, Amazon’s video game cloud-streaming service, is shifting gears. While the service will still feature AAA video games like Fallout and Dead Island, the retail giant has announced new plans to “reimagine” Luna as a way for families to play casual, easier-to-learn games using their phones. And the first one of these games Amazon revealed is a courtroom comedy game featuring an AI-powered Snoop Dogg as the judge. Hmm.

Launched back in 2020, Amazon Luna followed in the footsteps of Google’s video game streaming service, Stadia. But unlike Stadia, which died back in 2022, Amazon has continued to support Luna, offering a subscription service with access to over 100 games as well as giving Prime members a small catalog of games to play for free. It’s never felt like Luna was a big hit, though, despite some publishers like Ubisoft and EA continuing to support it. Well, Amazon seems to have admitted it wasn’t working, because the company just revealed big plans to rebrand Luna as a more casual experience built around couch co-op and new, unique games.

On October 1, Amazon announced that later this year, Luna will change. While the service will still allow you to buy and play AAA games, Amazon is going to target, as explained in a press release about the pivot, “the 100s of millions of people who want to experience the magic of playing games on the big screen but feel left out” due to games being too complicated or consoles being too expensive. Amazon’s play is to turn Luna into a place where friends and family members can gather around the TV, pull out their phones, and play less complicated games together. If this sounds a lot like Jackbox, well, congratulations, you too can be an Amazon Gaming executive.

The big centerpiece of this rebrand is Game Night, a new Amazon-developed hub within Luna that will offer a variety of Jackbox-like, family-friendly, casual games. Players just scan a QR code using their phone, and a few seconds later, they’re having a great time playing… a Snoop Dogg courtroom game powered by AI?

Yeah, the big game revealed today is Courtroom Chaos: Starring Snoop Dogg, which Amazon describes as an “AI‑powered improv courtroom game where players invent outrageous characters, spin wild stories, and do whatever it takes to defend their testimonies before Judge Snoop Dogg.” Gather around, grandma, pull out your Cricket Wireless smartphone, and let’s yell at an AI-powered recreation of a famous rapper who has, let’s say, made some bad choices in recent years.

Will this big pivot work out? I have no idea. A lot of this pitch reminds me of the same stuff Google said about Stadia and what Intellivision promised about the disaster that is the Amico console. Maybe Amazon will find success where others haven’t? Maybe. I mean, it’s not like Luna’s setting the world on fire at the moment. We’ll find out when the big pivot happens later this year.

Turns out a relatively important plot point in The Witcher games shouldn’t exist at all, so says the books’ author

by admin September 30, 2025

The thing about an adaptation, is that sometimes you’ve got to twist things slightly to better do what you want to do. Whether that’s the right choice or not depends on how militant you are about the concept of faithfulness. When it comes to The Witcher series, however, I expect most people won’t care, except for the author of the original books Andrzej Sapkowski himself. His personal gripe? The very existence of different witcher schools.

In The Witcher games, there’s various Witcher schools that crop up here and there, with Geralt of Rivia coming from the School of the Wolf. Except according to a recent AMA with Sapkowski on Reddit (thanks, PC Gamer), the whole idea of schools was completely blown out of proportion. “The issue of ‘witcher schools’ requires – I apologise – a longer explanation,” Sapkowski wrote. “A single sentence about some ‘school of the Wolf’ mysteriously made its way into The Last Wish. I later deemed it unworthy of development and narratively incorrect, even detrimental to the plot.”

For some context, The Last Wish is the first book he wrote in the series. The author goes on to explain that he didn’t include any references to any other schools in any of his other books from that point on. “However, that one sentence was enough. Adaptors, particularly video game people, have clung to the idea with remarkable tenacity and have wonderfully multiplied these ‘witcher schools.’ Completely unnecessary.”

Sapkowski also noted how he’s not sure how he wants to go about dispelling this idea of schools, suggesting removing any mention of them in future editions of The Last Wish, or even just outright expanding and clarifying the idea in future books. “Perhaps I’ll shed some light on the issue of Witcher medallions, their significance, and their connection to specific individuals? There are many possibilities, and the sky is the limit.”

I have to admit, this does tickle me quite a bit. I’m not a mega Witcher fan, I enjoyed the third one enough, but the schools did feel important enough to be relatively memorable. And they’re just not really a thing apparently!

Ultimately Sapkowski’s comments don’t really matter as the games have obviously taken on a very large life of their own. I doubt there’ll be anyone at CD Projekt Red who’s going to lose any sleep over this either.

In any case, there was meant to be one last Witcher 3 patch this year, but that recently got the boot to 2026. I’m sure you can wait a while longer for your cross-platform mod support.

Bitcoin Turns Bullish 3 Reasons Why $120K Could Be Next

Bitcoin Turns Bullish 3 Reasons Why $120K Could Be Next

by admin September 29, 2025

Key takeaways:

  • Clearer digital asset regulation, highlighted by this week’s high-profile SEC–CFTC roundtable, could strengthen investor confidence.

  • A temporary resolution of the looming US government shutdown may ease risk aversion and boost Bitcoin price.

  • Labor market data and Strategic Bitcoin Reserve expectations could fuel renewed momentum toward the $120,000 level.

Bitcoin (BTC) reclaimed the $114,000 mark on Monday, recouping part of the losses from the previous week. Interestingly, this rebound came despite heavy outflows from the spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs), prompting investors to question whether the rally is sustainable and what catalysts might drive Bitcoin toward the $120,000 level.

Roughly $900 million flowed out of US-listed spot Bitcoin ETFs last week, sparking moderate concern among traders, especially as long-term whales sold 3.4 million BTC. According to Glassnode, about 90% of the coins moved showed profit-taking for the third time in this cycle, increasing the likelihood of “a cooling phase ahead.”

SEC-CFTC joint roundtable, US government shutdown and labor market data

Three events scheduled for this week could shift investor sentiment toward Bitcoin, starting with a joint roundtable on digital asset regulation hosted by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). SEC Chair Paul Atkins is set to open the event on Monday.

The event in Washington, D.C., is designed to bring greater regulatory clarity to jurisdictional tests, listings, and exchange oversight. Panelists include Jeff Sprecher, CEO of ICE-NYSE, Adena Friedman, CEO of Nasdaq, and Terry Duffy, CEO of CME Group, along with executives from leading crypto-focused firms and representatives from JPMorgan, Bank of America, and Citadel.

Another potential catalyst for Bitcoin’s price is the looming risk of a US government shutdown on Oct. 1. US President Donald Trump has scheduled a meeting with congressional leaders on Monday to try to avert the crisis. Without action from Congress, thousands of federal employees could be furloughed, and numerous services, including small-business grant programs, would be disrupted.

Bitcoin’s price has historically reacted negatively when traders become more risk-averse. About $1.7 trillion in “discretionary” spending that funds agency operations is set to expire at the end of the fiscal year on Tuesday. The House of Representatives narrowly approved a bill on Sept. 19 to fund government agencies through Nov. 21, leaving final approval now in the Senate’s hands.

The next major factor that could unlock a Bitcoin rally to $120,000 is the US job market data, the Federal Reserve’s top focus following core inflation that matched market expectations at 2.9% in August. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics is scheduled to release the JOLTS survey of job openings on Tuesday, followed by the nonfarm payroll report on Friday.

Signs of weakness in the labor market could steer investors toward assets viewed as safer, such as gold and short-term government bonds.

US Strategic Bitcoin Reserves  hopes create a psychological support

Another reason Bitcoin has managed to hold the $109,000 level is optimism surrounding plans for a United States Strategic Bitcoin Reserve. Jan3 founder Samson Mow recently noted that the Trump administration is “pushing forward” budget-neutral strategies to acquire Bitcoin. Some analysts also highlight the possibility of a reevaluation of the US Treasury’s gold reserves.

By repricing gold’s official value from the $42.22 level set by Congress in 1973, the US Treasury could potentially unlock nearly $1 trillion in credit, though US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has dismissed speculation of such a move. Even so, analysts remain confident in the government’s ability to successfully launch a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve in the coming months.

Key drivers that could push Bitcoin above $120,000 include clearer regulation across the digital asset industry, a temporary agreement to avert a looming US government shutdown, and reduced risks reflected in upcoming US job market data. Meanwhile, even the possibility of the US Treasury adding Bitcoin to its reserves provides a psychological support level for the market if those broader events turn unfavorable.

Philippines Turns to Blockchain After Mass Protests Over Corruption

by admin September 25, 2025

In brief

  • Integrity Chain, built by BayaniChain, logs DPWH contracts and milestones as digital assets validated by independent civic groups.
  • The launch follows protests on September 21, during which 130,000 people demanded accountability over $33 billion in alleged infrastructure corruption.
  • The project aims to rebuild trust using cryptography and open validation systems.

The Philippines has launched a blockchain-based transparency system for its Department of Public Works and Highways after mass protests over alleged corruption in flood-control projects worth billions.

Integrity Chain, developed by BayaniChain Ventures, was unveiled on Wednesday as a platform to record DPWH contracts and project milestones on a tamper-proof ledger.

The goal is to turn “government records into digital public assets that are immutable, verifiable, and openly validated,” BayaniChain CEO and co-founder Paul Soliman told Decrypt.

Once expanded from the DPWH to other agencies, the initiative could later help “protect the entire annual budget of the Philippines,” estimated at roughly $98 billion, he said.

The project is part of a broader effort “to reshape accountability across every department and every peso spent,” making accountability “permanent, measurable, and unavoidable,” Soliman said.

“Public trust will be rebuilt not on promises, but on cryptography, open validation, and a system where citizens themselves can verify outcomes,” he added.

The rollout comes in the wake of mass protests drawing an estimated 130,000 people on September 21, which marked the 53rd anniversary of martial law declared by former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr., father of the current president. The declaration is remembered for widespread human rights abuses, censorship, and corruption.

Protests demanded accountability after revelations of overpriced contracts, substandard construction, and ghost projects in the country’s flood-control program under the DPWH’s oversight.

Over $33 billion was allocated to flood-control projects across 15 years, according to the Australian Institute of International Affairs.

On-chain civic accountability

Similar to an earlier implementation at the Department of Budget and Management, Integrity Chain ingests data directly from DPWH systems, minting each contract, budget release, and project milestone as a digital public asset.

Prismo, the orchestration layer, manages data handling, encryption, and validation. The platform runs on Polygon’s Proof-of-Stake network, an Ethereum-compatible scaling solution that serves as its consensus and transparency layer.

The records are then cryptographically time-stamped and anchored on-chain before reaching independent validators, so that “any attempt to withhold or manipulate information becomes visible rather than hidden,” Gelo Wong, chief growth officer and co-founder at BayaniChain, told Decrypt.

Validators include independent civic organizations, non-governmental organizations, universities, and media groups, among other sectors. These validators would review and attest to the entries, with their own actions logged as public records to maintain accountability.

Keys for validators are “hardware-secured, rotated periodically, and assigned to reviews through randomization,” with each validator action “recorded on-chain as its own public asset, ensuring that misconduct or bias is transparently logged,” Wong explained.

Asked about safeguards, Wong pointed to the framework’s one-organization-one-vote model, which prevents any sector from dominating the process. More than 40 non-governmental organizations participated at launch, providing a “wide and diversified base of civic accountability,” he added.

UXLINK scrambles to contain $11.3m hack, turns to police for action

by admin September 22, 2025

UXLINK admitted its wallet was compromised when attackers stripped admin rights and rerouted tokens across Ethereum and Arbitrum. The Web3 social platform is now working simultaneously with central exchanges to freeze the stolen funds and with law enforcement to initiate formal investigations.

Summary

  • UXLINK confirmed an $11.3m hack after attackers seized admin rights and rerouted funds across Ethereum and Arbitrum.
  • The Web3 social platform is working with exchanges and law enforcement to freeze assets and recover stolen funds.
  • The breach comes just months after UXLINK marked its third anniversary, celebrating 55m+ users and global growth.

On Sept. 22, blockchain security firm Cyvers flagged a series of highly suspicious transactions originating from a UXLINK protocol address. Their analysis revealed a sophisticated attack vector, with an Ethereum address executing a “delegateCall” to effectively seize control by removing the admin role and adding a new owner with threshold permissions.

Cyvers said the attack enabled the hacker to drain approximately $11.3 million in assets, including $4.5 million in stablecoins, WBTC, and ETH, before swiftly bridging and swapping portions of the haul across networks in an apparent attempt to launder the funds. Within minutes, another address received $3 million worth of UXLINK tokens, some of which remain unswapped.

UXLINK responds as breach overshadows recent milestones

UXLINK acknowledged the exploit less than an hour after Cyvers’ alert, issuing what it called an “urgent security notice” to its users. While the official communication did not specify the exact figure, it confirmed that a “significant amount of cryptocurrency” had been illicitly transferred to both centralized and decentralized exchanges.

“We have already reached out to major CEXs and DEXs to urgently freeze suspicious UXLINK deposits and are coordinating closely with them to prevent further movement of funds. The incident has been reported to the police and relevant authorities to accelerate legal action and recovery efforts,” the team wrote on X.

UXLINK’s move to involve law enforcement underscores the severity of the incident and the project’s intent to pursue all available avenues for restitution. Notably, the timing of the hack carries added weight for the Web3 social platform.

Just three months ago, the Tokyo-headquartered project celebrated its third anniversary in July, an event that highlighted a period of remarkable growth. UXLINK reported its registered user base surging to over 55 million, with a presence in more than 100 countries, and emphasized its commitment to regulatory compliance and product innovation.

The hack now poses a direct challenge to that very narrative of maturation and stability. The breach of a core administrative wallet stands in stark contrast to the image of a robust, compliance-first infrastructure provider that UXLINK has carefully cultivated.

The platform has yet to issue another update as of press time.

Xbox Turns Up the Fun With Friends, and It’s Crashing the Price of Its Wireless Controller

by admin September 20, 2025

Having a Xbox but not enough controllers kind of kills the fun, especially when playing with friends and family. What makes the console truly cool is those multiplayer moments, and nothing beats sharing the game with extra controllers on hand. The catch? Controllers aren’t always the easiest or cheapest to grab. That’s why timing your buy is key, and right now there’s a Black Friday-level deal on Amazon that’s too good to miss: The latest Xbox wireless gaming controller is available for $53, down from its original $64.

See at Amazon

Contemporary Design Coupled with Comforting Play and Intelligent Features

Its modernized design features sculpted surfaces and refined geometry that fit comfortably in your hands, and keeps you gaming longer without fatigue. The textured grip on the triggers, bumpers and back case is there to make sure your fingers stay steady and controlled. And the new hybrid D-pad adds precise directional control which is a big deal whether you’re navigating tricky menus or battling opponents.

The Share button is perhaps the best feature of them all since it lets you snap and share your gameplay—screenshots, video, whatever—without breaking stride. It’s a simple way to share with friends or easily record your best victories.

The controller supports Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth which makes it simple to connect to many devices. If you’re playing on your Xbox console, alternating to playing with your Windows computer, launching games on Android or iOS, or even attaching it with Fire TV Sticks, smart TVs, or VR headsets, this controller lags behind none. With so much flexibility, you won’t need to keep multiple different controllers occupying valuable space.

And, to boot, players also have a lot of selection with sound: The 3.5mm headset jack will work with any supported headset, so you can simply plug in and talk or be completely enveloped in the game’s sound. The USB-C port lets you plug directly into your Xbox or PC for plug-and-play installation which is perfect if you are enthusiastic about a wired connection or charging during gaming.

All things considered, snagging this controller at $53 is a smart move whether you’re replacing an older one or expanding your multiplayer setup.

Turns out Battlefield 6 won’t have PlayStation and Xbox crossplay without PC players after all

by admin September 18, 2025

Battlefield 6 won’t include console-only crossplay after all, despite reports to the contrary.

Eurogamer reported yesterday, based on an interview from IGN with Battlefield 6 senior combat designer Matthew Nickerson and technical director Christian Buhl, that console players across PlayStation and Xbox would be able to play together without PC players.

It now transpires this is not the case, as per a clarification from EA to Dexerto. EA has not responded to Eurogamer’s request for comment.

Battlefield 6 Official Reveal TrailerWatch on YouTube

So how will crossplay work in Battlefield 6?

Nickerson was at least correct in how crossplay will work for console players when the toggle is turned on. Here, PlayStation and Xbox players will be prioritised before PC players are added to fill a lobby.

However, if crossplay is turned off, players will only play with others on their current platform. As such, Xbox and PlayStation players won’t be able to play together exclusively without PC players. They also won’t be able to party up with or join players on other platforms.

This will be disappointing for fans who had hoped to play across platforms, but without PC players.

That’s because cheating tends to be more prevalent on PC, something console players are keen to avoid.

“Obviously, cheating is much more prevalent on PC than on console, but we are taking a lot of effort, putting a lot of work into prioritising fighting against cheaters,” said Buhl. “We’ve turned on secure boot. We’ve got Javelin, our new anti-cheat system, which is required in order to play.

“So, we’re doing a lot on the PC side to clamp down on cheating as much as possible. We have a whole team within Battlefield dedicated to anti-cheat, which includes engineers, analysts who are reviewing things and banning players, and figuring out what the latest cheats are. We have another whole dedicated team at EA to anti-cheat that we work closely with. That’s what I can say. Now, we can never win against cheaters, right? Cheaters will always be there. It’s a never-ending cat-and-mouse game. I can’t promise that there will be zero cheaters if you’re playing against PC players. That’s just simply not possible, but I can say that we are being extremely aggressive. We see this as critical to the success of – to the health of – the game.”

Battlefield 6 will be out on 10th October across PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, but don’t expect a Switch 2 version any time soon.

Crypto Investor Turns $1k Into $1M In 8 Years, as BNB hits $1,000 ATH

by admin September 18, 2025

A long-term cryptocurrency investor has turned $1,000 into $1 million, underscoring the payoff of patient holding strategies in digital assets.

The “diamond hand” cryptocurrency holder turned their original $1,000 BNB (BNB) investment into over $1 million, marking a 1,000-fold return in eight years.

The investor acquired their stash for just $1,000 when the Binance ecosystem’s native token traded for around $1 back in 2017, according to blockchain data platform Lookonchain.

Despite the 1,000-fold return, the trader continues holding their BNB tokens instead of taking profits, according to data from blockchain intelligence platform Nansen.

The near $1 million profit comes as the BNB token rose to a new all-time high of $1,005 on Tuesday, according to Cointelegraph data, signaling growing investor expectations for an incoming altcoin season.

Three weeks ago, Raoul Pal, founder and CEO of Global Macro Investor, predicted that the crypto market is in the “waiting room” ahead of the next phase of the price discovery stage, which may extend the market cycle top to the first or second quarter of 2026.

“Our work suggests (probabilistically speaking) that the cycle extends into Q1 2026 and possibly Q2 2026 due to slow business cycle forcing more liquidity for longer,” he said in an Aug. 29 X post.

BNB all-time high driven by native utility

A combination of growth factors contributed to BNB’s new all-time high above $1,000, including the token’s native “utility,” according to Marwan Kawadri, DeFi lead and head of EMEA at BNB Chain.

BNB is a “unique” network token with growing utility in centralized exchanges, seeing increased demand from institutional investors due to the “growing momentum of DATs coming in with a focus on high-quality assets like BNB,” Kawadri told Cointelegraph.

“[BNB] continues to see strong growth momentum: more developers, more protocols, more capital, more users.”

This creates a “flywheel for the network and native token,” he added.

“Watching #BNB go from $0.10 ICO price 8 years ago to today’s $1000 is something words cannot explain,” said Binance co-founder and former CEO Changpeng Zhao in a Thursday X post.

“We had our challenges along the way, but we worked hard, we built, and we held,” he added.
