Walmart-Backed OnePay to Add Bitcoin and Ether Trading to Finance App: CNBC

by admin October 5, 2025

Walmart-backed fintech OnePay plans to roll out cryptocurrency trading and custody features in its app by the end of the year.

The service will let users buy, hold, and convert bitcoin and ether within the app, with crypto infrastructure provided by Chicago-based Zerohash, CNBC reports , citing sources familiar with the matter.

Though OnePay hasn’t publicly confirmed the rollout, the move would put it in line with competitors like Venmo, Cash App, and PayPal, which already offer crypto trading to U.S. users.

Founded in 2021 by Walmart and venture firm Ribbit Capital, OnePay has been building what it calls an “everything app” for digital finance. Its existing services include high-yield savings accounts, debit and credit cards, peer-to-peer payments, and buy now, pay later options.

By adding crypto, OnePay is banking on the idea that its users, many of whom shop at Walmart’s nearly 4,600 U.S. stores, will want to spend, save, or transfer crypto on the same platform they handle cash.

Though OnePay is closely tied to Walmart, the app is operated as a separate company to appeal to a broader user base, particularly Americans underserved by traditional banks.

Last month, Zerohash raised $104 million+ from firms including Morgan Stanley and Interactive Brokers to expand its crypto services for banks and fintechs.

Speculative Retail Trading is Good for Financial Markets, Actually

by admin October 4, 2025

Traditional investment firms all have the same mantras: “time in the market beats timing,” “move slowly,” and “big money is in the waiting.” It’s an action plan that made sense 20 years ago, but today, it’s a sure strategy for getting steamrolled by forces most of these firms refuse to acknowledge.

The uncomfortable truth is that markets no longer run on just earnings reports and balance sheets; they run on stories, memes, and cultural ideas that gain momentum through social communities like X and Reddit and move faster than analysts can reliably keep track of. As much as we want to call GameStop a glitch, it’s only a preview of how markets now work. Crypto investors had an outsized role in driving this shift that spilled over into traditional markets.

And now, retail investors have evolved from spectators to active market movers and makers, armed with platforms that let them coordinate, analyze, and act upon market intelligence at scale and unprecedented speed. While not every retail investor can outpace professional analysts, the most plugged-in communities have shown they can collectively move faster than institutions still operating by outdated playbooks. Look at Reddit’s WallStreetBets users, who drove the 2021 GameStop rally that led to massive losses for short sellers, citing that retail traders were the real force behind the market upheaval. Investors who have learned to read the cultural signals and narratives alongside financial ones will stay ahead.

Markets Don’t Crash From Speculation

A Wall Street secret is that markets don’t crash because of meme stocks — they crash because of stubborn loyalty to yesterday’s winners. The historic Dot-com Bubble didn’t burst because traders shifted their attention, but because both institutional and retail investors were in denial about industry over-valuation. Instead of recognizing the underlying stories that showed early signs of tech stocks’ crumbling prices, they chose to put their trust in past performance.

Crashes happen when conviction in positions hardens into blind faith and unquestioning belief, and markets force a hard reset. Speculation keeps markets honest by forcing constant reevaluation. Retail investors do this daily by actively debating a stock or token’s prospects or deep diving into company fundamentals with fellow market participants. When they engage critically and stress-test every narrative in real time, they perform an invaluable and increasingly rare service as the active asset management industry shrinks in favor of passive investing strategies.

The smartest retail investors ride a stock or token’s momentum but pivot as soon as the story changes. Their willingness to be wrong and adapt quickly helps prevent the kind of slow-moving institutional groupthink that leads to massive corrections, while still acknowledging that even retail communities can fall into faster, more volatile herd behavior. This mix of flexibility and collective attention makes them a uniquely influential force in today’s markets.

Retail Runs the Show – and It’s About Time

Retail stock trading is up to 20-35% of volume in the U.S. and UK alone, while crypto trade volume has also surged this past month exceeding a total market cap of $4T, but the change they’re forcing isn’t numbers — it’s intelligence. They’re networked, fast, and often spot trends before your dad’s broker does. Communities on platforms like Reddit and Discord can collectively analyze news, filings, and earnings calls, surfacing insights that sometimes catch institutional investors off guard. During the AMC rally, coordinated attention from retail communities amplified price swings and forced institutional adjustments. Today, AI-driven tools and educational platforms are making retail investors more capable and informed than ever, allowing them to process data and sentiment in real time. They might not always be right, but they’re influential enough to matter.

Taking a page out of what crypto has been doing for years, some companies are starting to get it: CEOs now engage directly with retail communities, and IR departments track social sentiment. They understand the passion retail investors have for their stocks and are more willing to stick with them through poor performance than with an institution that’s judged on quarterly performance.

Fighting Speculation is Fighting Reality

It’s 2025 and talking heads are still warning about how the gambling mentality is ruining price discovery, pointing to meme stocks and crypto volatility as proof that retail has turned markets into a casino floor. They say that embracing speculation encourages poor decision-making, market instability, and over-exposure to risk. This way of thinking misses that prices have always been driven by collective beliefs about future values. Now that more people are able to participate, it’s just happening faster.

Crypto is the ultimate example. Early critics called it pure speculation, divorced from the fundamentals of market movements, but it was actually just genuine price discovery happening at warp speed. The crypto market tested more ideas in a few years than traditional VCs could explore in a decade. While some ideas were garbage, the winners were massive.

How Do You Win in the New Game?

Don’t throw the fundamentals out the window just yet — success involves a hybrid approach of solid analysis and narrative awareness. More often than not, a great company with a boring story will underperform a decent company with a compelling narrative. Success means knowing narratives can change quickly and taking positions that capitalize on that.

By diversifying based on assets and stories, risk management is more comprehensive. It allows investors to stay plugged into the communities and platforms where market-moving conversations are happening, while being willing to admit being too certain about any position means you may be setting yourself up for a painful lesson in market dynamics. However, it’s also about being able to distinguish between market volatility and noise, and recognizing the distinction between legitimate analysis and the misinformation that can spread rapidly in these communities.

Adapt or Get Left Behind

Retail is here to stay — the technology exists and the communities keep growing. By acknowledging this is the new normal and learning to navigate social intelligence and narrative-driven momentum, all investors like will thrive. The future belongs to those who are flexible and can expand their toolkits beyond earnings reports and balance sheets to a world where information flows instantly and communities coordinate buying and selling in real time.

Speculation lets investors read both the fundamentals and social sentiment to spot undervalued assets and emerging narratives before the crowds catch on. Read the signals and adapt, or watch from the sidelines.

Walmart’s OnePay App to Include Bitcoin, Ethereum Trading: CNBC

by admin October 4, 2025

In brief

  • OnePay, a fintech firm owned by Walmart, is reportedly adding crypto trading and custody to its mobile app.
  • The platform was developed in 2021 via a collaboration between Walmart and investment firm Ribbit Capital.
  • The OnePay app has jumped inside the top 5 among free finance apps in both the Apple and Google Play app stores.

OnePay, a financial technology firm owned by retail giant Walmart, is reportedly adding Bitcoin and Ethereum trading to its mobile app, sources familiar with the matter told CNBC.

The firm is said to be working with stablecoin and crypto infrastructure startup Zerohash to implement custodying and trading solutions into its mobile banking application later this year.

“The move means that crypto is increasingly seen as a core offering that exists alongside traditional banking services like savings accounts, credit cards, and wealth management,” said CNBC reporter Hugh Son on the network’s Squawk on the Street show.

OnePay was developed in 2021 via a strategic partnership between Walmart and investment firm Ribbit Capital with the goal of delivering “modern, innovative and affordable financial solutions,” to its users.

Its mobile banking app currently offers features like a digital wallet with Walmart rewards, a high-yield savings account, and a debit card. Specific details about what crypto features it may offer, beyond trading and holding select assets, are not available.

A representative for Zerohash declined to comment. The infrastructure firm rumored to be powering OnePay’s crypto initiatives recently announced a $104 million raise led by brokerage firm Interactive Brokers. The raise pushed the firm’s valuation to $1 billion.

Initially released to app stores as early as 2020, OnePay’s mobile banking application has shot up the app popularity charts in both Apple and Google Play stores, jumping at least 50 spots in each store over the last month in overall app rankings—now ranked at #58 and #73, respectively. It currently ranks inside the top 5 mobile applications in the finance category in both stores.

The app’s potential move into crypto isn’t the first time that Walmart has been connected to the space this year. In June a report from The Wall Street Journal indicated that the Arkansas-based retailer was considering the introduction of its own stablecoin.

That headline was later denounced by consumer advocate and noted crypto skeptic senator, Elizabeth Warren.

Representatives for OnePay nor Walmart immediately responded to Decrypt’s request for comment.

Public Keys: Robinhood Takes Flight, GM to Walmart, and Never Not Trading

by admin October 4, 2025

In brief

  • Robinhood stock surges nearly 47% in a month, approaching $150 as it explores expanding prediction markets to the U.K.
  • Walmart’s OnePay payment app adds Bitcoin and Ethereum trading for its 3+ million monthly users.
  • CME Group plans 24/7 trading for crypto futures and options starting early 2026 in response to record volumes.

Public Keys is a weekly roundup from Decrypt that tracks the key publicly traded crypto companies. In this week’s roundup, we’ve got the latest on CME, Walmart’s crypto play (for real this time), and Robinhood flying high:

All-time highs for HOOD

Stock and crypto trading app Robinhood saw a new all-time high this week on reports that it’ll extend its prediction market offerings outside of the United States.

Reports surfaced this week that the company has been speaking with the U.K.’s Financial Conduct authority about expanding there, but the company didn’t immediately respond to confirm or deny the news.

There have been projections that the prediction market space could eventually account for more than $82 billion, according to Grand View Research.

But things move fast. At the start of the week, a new all-time high for Robinhood meant the company’s shares had breached $140. But the gains have kept rolling in. Robinhood’s stock is now closing in on $150 with more than an hour left before the closing bell on Friday.

The company, which trades under the HOOD ticker on the Nasdaq, has gained 21.69% in the past five days and nearly 47% in the past month.

The latest news from CEO Vlad Tenev is that Strategy preferred stock offerings, like Stretch (STRC) and Strike (STRK), are now available on its platform.

“We’ve heard from many Strategy investors that this was an important factor before moving their accounts to Robinhood, and we’re excited to unlock this for them,” Tenev said on X.

Meanwhile, Strategy had its own bullish news this week, but hasn’t gotten anywhere near its all-time high of $473.83. The company had been bracing for a hefty 15% tax bill on the unrealized gains of its hulking Bitcoin treasury. But now, the company thinks it has dodged that bullet.

Big box embrace

Walmart’s Apple and Google Pay contender, OnePay, has added crypto trading and custody to its mobile app.

The news, first told to CNBC by unnamed sources, will bring BTC and ETH trading to the platform’s more than 3 million monthly active users. But Walmart has been aggressive about trying to funnel more users into the app.

The retailer doesn’t allow Apple or Google Pay in its brick and mortar stores—just OnePay and WalmartPay, a feature of its own app.

Don’t worry, so far this hasn’t gone the way of the Litecoin news that got debunked in 2021.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the Walmart-owned firm is opening its app to crypto. Parent company Walmart has signaled it’s interested in trying out a stablecoin.

Another all nighter

CME said it’s looking to move to “24/7” trading for its crypto futures and options—right now Bitcoin and Ethereum. But Solana and XRP options will soon join them.

The change would take place in early 2026.

CME framed the move as a response to record 2025 volumes and client demand. Right now crypto assets can be traded all the time. And there are plenty of crypto derivatives exchanges—Deribit being the largest—that offer the same always-on hours.

But CME said clients have said they want around-the-clock risk management on a regulated venue.

CME said it’s officially planning to make the move—but it all depends on regulatory review. There’s already been signs that regulators are on board with allowing certain assets to be tradeable all the time.

In fact, the SEC and CFTC said as much a month ago—but that was about making securities tradeable all the time.

In the 154 years since continuous trading debuted on Wall Street, such markets have always followed a strict schedule, which since 1985 has kept markets open only during certain business hours on weekdays.

Other Keys

In a Galaxy not far away… Samsung is integrating Coinbase access within its wallet app for U.S. users, which means crypto holdings could now be used through Samsung Wallet and Samsung Pay. That’s 75 million Samsung device users who now have easier access to crypto.

Call it a comeBAKKT Securities research firm Benchmark has more than tripled its price target for Bakkt Holdings. The company has been many things over the years—including almost broke. But now analysts are keen on the addition of crypto industry investor Mike Alfred to its board.

CME Group to Launch 24/7 Crypto Futures and Options Trading in Early 2026

by admin October 3, 2025

CME Group, a prominent exchange among institutions, announced plans on Thursday to offer around-the-clock trading for its cryptocurrency futures and options markets, a shift that would bring one of the largest regulated derivatives venues closer in line with the nonstop nature of crypto markets.

The service could start in early 2026 pending regulatory approval, the firm said.

“Client demand for around-the-clock cryptocurrency trading has grown as market participants need to manage their risk every day of the week,” Tim McCourt, CME’s global head of equities, FX and alternative products, said in a statement. “Ensuring that our regulated cryptocurrency markets are always on will enable clients to trade with confidence at any time.”

Currently, trading in CME’s crypto products pauses on weekends and outside business hours. Under the new model, traders will be able to access products such as bitcoin BTC$120.346,87 and ether ETH$4.504,16 futures and options through CME Globex at any time and day, with the exception of a short weekly maintenance window. Holiday and weekend trades will still settle on the next business day, maintaining consistency in reporting and clearing operations.

The move could appeal to institutions that want the stability of a regulated exchange without the constraints of traditional trading hours. If approved, CME’s around-the-clock access could give it an edge over offshore platforms that already offer 24/7 trading but operate with less regulatory oversight.

CME Group’s trading venue is a key marketplace for U.S. institutional investors to trade crypto derivatives. It’s the world’s leading exchange for BTC and ETH futures by open interest, with $16.8 billion and $9.8 billion in notional value of contracts, respectively, CoinGlass data shows.

Monthly perp trading surpass $1t for the first time

by admin October 2, 2025

In September, monthly trading volume on Perp DEXs broke through $1 trillion for the first time in history, reaching as high as $1.14 trillion amidst the boom in perp trading.

Summary

  • In September 2025, monthly trading volume on Perp DEXs surpassed $1 trillion, marking a historic first for the crypto community.
  • DEX trading has been on the rise lately, with more CEXs adopting DEX functionalities

According to data from DeFi Llama, trading volume for perpetual decentralized exchanges exceeded $1 trillion in monthly trading volume for the first time ever in September 2025. Compared to the previous month of August, this number indicates a nearly 50% month-over-month surge from just $766 billion.

The surge in monthly trading volume was driven by several decentralized protocols, such as Aster (ASTER), Hyperliquid (HYPE), and Lighter each crossing the $150 billion mark in trading volume over the past 30 days. In the past week alone, perp trading has climbed up by 161%.

Aster leads the charge with a monthly perp volume of $493.61 billion, making up for nearly half of the total perp trading volume in September alone. This number is followed by Hyperliquid with $280.7 billion in the same period. Lighter is in third place with $165 billion in monthly trading volume.

Perp trading volume on DEXs have risen to $1 trillion for the first time in history | Source: DeFi Llama

Within just a month, Aster managed to dethrone Hyperliquid as the dominating market holder of perpetual futures. What took Hyperliquid one year to achieve, Aster was able to do in just a few months. Back in August 2025, analysts estimated that Hyperliquid accounted for 80% of the total perp trading market.

In the past 24 hours, Aster’s perp volume has reached $80.47 billion. Meanwhile, Hyperliquid’s volume is only at $9.47 billion. The large nealy-1000% gap between protocols showcases the rapid growth of Aster DEX in the crypto space after gaining support from former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao.

Perp trading on the rise

Compared to just a year ago in September 2024, the trading volume for perpetual futures was still stuck at around $131 billion. In just the span of a year, that number surpassed $1 trillion for the first time in history due to advancements made in the space.

The boom in perpetual trading can be attributed to the many new features introduced through Aster, Hyperliquid and many more DEX platforms. Many Perp DEXs run on high-throughput chains or Layer-2 solutions, reducing latency, lowering gas fees, and enhancing execution speed.

As a result, barriers that once made derivatives trading unattractive on-chain have been diminished.

Another key driver is the rewards model deployed by DEXs to attract more users to trade on their platforms. Most recently, more protocols are using token incentives, yield sharing, revenue redistributions, and “point-farming” schemes to bootstrap volume and liquidity on their respective platforms.

Projects like Aster have leaned heavily on this kind of incentive engineering to rapidly grow trading activity and attract users.

Not only that, centralized exchanges like OKX have begun to integrate support for DEX trading, in hopes of luring in more users with a hybrid model that combines CEX and DEX functionalities. At the moment, the program is still in its limited public beta test phase.

According to the announcement, the exchange plans to distribute 1,000 experience codes worldwide, giving users the chance to test the DEX support feature with zero trading fees. Transactions will be executed directly within the interface of the OKX exchange.

BBVA Teams With SGX FX to Launch Retail Crypto Trading in Europe

by admin October 2, 2025

Spanish bank BBVA has partnered with Singapore’s SGX FX to allow retail customers to trade digital assets directly through its platforms.

The integration, marking a first for the European market, the companies said on Thursday, will initially support bitcoin and ether, offering 24/7 trading with the same framework BBVA uses for foreign exchange.

SGX has been a digital assets and blockchain tech enthusiast for several years, while BBVA has also been at the forefront among banks when it comes to crypto.

SGX FX provides banks with aggregation, pricing, distribution and risk-management tools while maintaining operations across key global data centers in London, New York, Tokyo and Singapore.

“SGX FX has built its reputation over 25 years by delivering a platform hardened by decades of live trading for the global FX markets. By tightly integrating digital assets into our existing FX offering, we enable banks like BBVA to move quickly, launch seamlessly, and serve growing client demand – all without the need for a full stack replacement,” said Vinay Trivedi, COO, SGX FX Sell-side Solutions.

The European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation has opened the path for highly regulated firms to offer crypto services and by working with SGX FX, BBVA positions itself to comply with these requirements while meeting rising client demand.

“Digital assets are rapidly becoming an integral part of the global finance system. It’s natural that our customers want to be able to trade these assets using the same trusted system,” said Luis Martins, Global Head of Macro Trading at BBVA.

Bullish to Offer Bitcoin Options Trading With Top-Tier Consortium of Trading Partners

by admin October 2, 2025

Bullish (BLSH), the NYSE-listed digital assets platform focused on institutional investors and parent company of CoinDesk, will tentatively launch crypto options trading from Oct. 8.

These bitcoin BTC$111,480.33 options will be margined and settled in the regulated, dollar-pegged stablecoin USDC, which boasts a market cap of $73.85 billion at press time, the second-largest in the stablecoin industry. Additionally, they will be European-style options with expiries ranging from three weeks to three months. The contract multiplier will be 1, meaning one contract represents one full BTC.

The exchange plans to list options tied to ether, as well as other single assets and multi-asset indices, such as the CoinDesk 20 and CoinDesk 5, in the future.

Bullish’s decision to launch options is part of a broader industry trend marked by increasing demand for hedging instruments across the full spectrum of crypto products. This growing appetite is exemplified by the rising popularity of options tied to BlackRock’s spot Bitcoin ETF, which now rivals Deribit’s BTC options.

“Bullish is investing significantly in its institutional offering,” said Chris Tyrer, President of Bullish Exchange. “Our journey began with spot trading, expanded to include margin, then perpetual and dated futures, and now reaches a new milestone with the introduction of options.”

He added that the new product aims to deliver a complete derivatives product suite with capital efficiency and risk mitigation, all accessible through a single, unified trading account.

Options are derivative contracts that grant the holder the right, but not the obligation, to buy or sell a specific asset, such as bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies, at a predetermined price within a set time frame. A call option gives the right to buy, representing a bullish bet on the market, while a put protects against potential price losses.

The special thing about options is that they facilitate three-dimensional trading, allowing traders to bet on the price direction, the degree of price volatility and leverage time to expiration. This multi-faceted nature enables traders to create synthetic positions by combining spot, futures, and options markets, allowing them to manage risk with more tailored and flexible strategies.

Consortium of day-one trading partners

Bullish’s new options have been designed in close collaboration with leading options market makers, technology providers, and brokers to ensure they are specifically tailored to meet the needs of institutional investors.

More importantly, from day one, these options will be supported by a range of confirmed industry heavyweights as trading partners, including Abraxas Capital Management, Ampersan, B2C2, BlockTech, Cumberland, FalconX, Fig Markets, Flow Traders, Galaxy Digital, Monarq Asset Management, Pulsar, SignalPlus, Wintermute, and Qube Research & Technologies.

“Galaxy is excited to support the next chapter of Bullish’s journey,” said Jason Urban, Global Head of Trading at Galaxy. “The addition of options to its product suite is a strong step forward – enhancing liquidity, deepening price discovery, and strengthening the overall maturity of the crypto derivatives market.”

Unified margin system

The global crypto options market is valued at over $50 billion in notional open interest, with Deribit alone accounting for more than 80% of the activity. In other words, the exchange has a massive head start compared to the impending Bullish options contracts.

Still, Bullish’s announcement stands out due to the platform’s unified margin system, according to Tyrer.

“Bullish clients access all products via our unified account structure, allowing them to trade spot, perps, dated futures and now options with risk offsets and portfolio collateralization. This setup is designed for maximum capital efficiency, which is of paramount importance to our institutional client base,” Chris Tyrer, President of Bullish Exchange, said.

On Deribit, Segregated Standard Margin is the default margin system, which means that standard margin, the initial margin and maintenance margin (MM) requirements are calculated separately for each position in the account. These requirements are then summed together to generate the total margin requirements for the account.

Lastly, Bullish already has vibrant futures and spot markets, which are often seen as a prerequisite for a successful options product.

Since its launch in November 2021, Bullish has surpassed $1.5 trillion in cumulative trading volume. This year, the platform has executed over $2 billion in average daily volume and ranks in the top ten exchanges by spot volume for bitcoin and ether.

The business is licensed by the New York State Department of Financial Services, German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority, Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, and the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission.

SEC Halts QMMM Trading After 959% Surge on Crypto Treasury Manipulation Concerns

by admin October 1, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has temporarily suspended trading in QMMM Holdings after the stock rocketed 959% in under three weeks on the back of a splashy crypto-treasury pivot.

In its suspension order, the SEC flagged potential manipulation via social-media “recommendations” by unknown parties that appeared designed to inflate price and volume. The halt took effect Monday and is slated to run for 10 trading days while regulators dig in.

QMMM announced it would allocate a $100 million portfolio across Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana, and also launch a crypto analytics platform.

The news triggered a sharp rise from around $11 to an intraday peak near $207, before the stock last traded around $119.40 before the freeze.

BTC’s price trends upwards on short timeframes. Source: BTCUSD on Tradingview

A Wider Crackdown on “Crypto Treasury” Pop-and-Drops

The QMMM halt comes as the SEC and FINRA expand investigations into unusual trading activities linked to corporate crypto-treasury announcements.

This year, over 200 companies have announced plans to raise funds through token purchases, often following sharp price increases before the announcements. Regulators are examining potential insider leaks and Reg FD violations related to the selective sharing of material information.

Hype-driven stock promotions and speculative treasury strategies can cause share prices to drift away from their true value, leaving late traders vulnerable when market realities catch up.

Recent reports indicate this strategy has become overcrowded, with some firms turning to financial engineering after crypto-related rallies decline, prompting the SEC to accelerate efforts to halt trading and investigate suspicious surges.

What the QMMM Halt Means for Investors Now

For holders, the suspension locks in positions until trading resumes, and outcomes vary from an orderly reopen to potential enforcement actions if wrongdoing is discovered.

Expect increased demands for detailed disclosure: audited wallet attestations, treasury risk policies, and clear business rationales beyond simply “numbers go up.”

The QMMM episode highlights a new baseline: crypto adjacency alone won’t suffice, especially when social-media promotion is involved.

Key levels to watch after the halt include liquidity conditions, opening auction volatility, and any SEC updates clarifying the scope of the investigation. Overall, investors seeking equity exposure to digital assets may prefer experienced operators and transparent balance-sheet strategies over sudden pivots.

With regulators indicating ongoing scrutiny of the crypto-treasury relationship, due diligence, on both the tokens and the corporate narratives, has never been more important.

HBAR Drops 3% as Institutional Trading Volume Signals Market Repositioning

by admin September 30, 2025

Hedera Hashgraph’s HBAR token slipped nearly 3% in the 24 hours through September 30, falling from $0.22 to $0.21 as institutional investors pared back exposure to enterprise-focused cryptocurrencies. The decline came after HBAR met resistance at the $0.22 level during evening trading on September 29, with volumes climbing above 34 million tokens as corporate holders began to take profits.

Market participants said support around the $0.21 threshold initially held through the morning of September 30, but heavy selling in the afternoon pushed volumes sharply higher, peaking at nearly 55 million tokens in the final hour of trading. Analysts suggested that the move reflected growing caution among corporate treasuries in the wake of evolving regulatory frameworks for enterprise blockchain adoption.

By late afternoon on September 30, HBAR briefly recovered before slipping again to intraday lows around $0.21. Elevated trading activity during the final hour—topping 5.9 million tokens in a single interval—highlighted the intensity of institutional rebalancing. The token ended the session with modest stabilization near $0.21, but market watchers warned continued volatility may persist as corporate strategies adapt to shifting regulatory headwinds.

HBAR/USD (TradingView)

Market Analysis
  • Resistance established at $0.22 during September 29 evening trading with institutional profit-taking on above-average volume.
  • Support zone identified around $0.21-$0.21 with multiple corporate buying opportunities throughout morning sessions.
  • Volume surge to 54.88 million tokens in final hour indicating accelerated institutional risk management protocols.
  • Extraordinary trading activity reaching 5.90 million tokens during 3:10 PM interval and 4.51 million at 3:11 PM.
  • Break below established support zone suggesting potential continued corporate de-risking in enterprise blockchain sector.
  • Price stabilization efforts near $0.21 level by session end with sustained institutional trading volumes.
