Wolverine Is Spilling A Ton Of Blood When it Arrives Next Fall

Wolverine is going to kill a lot of people. That was the main takeaway from the first gameplay trailer for the upcoming PS5 exclusive Marvel’s Wolverine, which was shown off during Wednesday’s State of Play. Who’s ready for some true, next-gen blood tech?

Alongside its first big trailer, Insomniac Games confirmed that Marvel’s Wolverine will be Sony’s big fall 2026 blockbuster. For anyone who worries Logan might be taking it easy in a more family-friendly superhero blockbuster, fear not: the X-Men icon appears to have no qualms about slitting throats and slashing vital arteries in his first solo video-game outing in years.

Wolverine will be played by actor Liam McIntyre, who portrays a version of the comic book character trying to uncover his past. Apparently there are a bunch of weird cyborg enemies who don’t want that to happen. “He’ll leave an impression on his foes with fast, fluid, and rapid attacks and techniques that’ll dismember or break anyone who gets in his way,” writes Insomniac’s Aaron Jason Espinoza on the PlayStation Blog. “Wolverine might be distant, but he isn’t afraid to get up-close and personal when it counts.”

This journey will take Logan around the world, from the Canadian wilderness to the neon-lit streets of Tokyo. Along the way he’ll come face to face with Omega Red, Mystique, and others, including one of the game’s enemy factions called the Reavers. Espinoza says the development team is looking to marry the violent gameplay with a nuanced story, and is also trying to break new ground with a game that’s “much darker and more brutal than you might expect from Insomniac.”

That’s great news, even if some of the shots in the trailer gave me the familiar queasiness of a Mortal Kombat fatality. Can Marvel’s Wolverine be more than just a hyper-violent showcase of next-gen cinematic storytelling? I hope so. Insomniac says fans can expect to see more of the game in the spring.

TON Strategy Starts Share Buyback, Treasury Staking After Shares Plunge 40%

TON Strategy Company (TONX) has repurchased over 250,000 shares of its common stock at $8.32 per share, well below its stated treasury asset value (TAV) of $12.18, the company said.

The move is part of its recently launched $250 million buyback program and follows its pivot to position toncoin TON$3.2026 as the company’s primary treasury asset.

The company also announced that it has begun staking its TON holdings to earn rewards by helping secure the blockchain networks, effectively using idle treasury assets to generate yield.

Data from StakingRewards shows that yield could be as high as 4.8%. The company on its website says it owns 217.5 million TON tokens, with each currently trading at $3.24. That would lead to an annual yield near $34 million if the entire treasury were to be staked.

TON Strategy shares are down more than 43% in the last 30 days, and saw a 9.2% drop in Friday’s trading session.

TONX shares have in after-hours trading moved up 3.7%.

We’re about to get a ton of new games coming out this fall, but if you want to catch up on older stuff you already missed, a recent sale on physical Switch games is a great place to start. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl, and more are all decently discounted right now.

Super Mario Party Jamboree has an upgraded version on Switch 2 with new DLC for $80, so with this deal you can effectively save $16 off that completely new release. Unfortunately, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, which both look outstanding on Switch 2, aren’t part of the current sale.

Mario Kart World is already on sale for $10 off

It’s also worth noting, for anyone who didn’t get the Mario Kart World Switch 2 bundle, that Nintendo’s newest racer is part of the current Woot sale. It’s currently $70 for the physical edition, which doesn’t feel like saving much, but hey, welcome to the world of $80 games. Of course, if you were somehow coming to the Switch ecosystem for the first time and had to choose between either Mario Kart World or Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, I would definitely recommend the latter. It’s cheaper and it feels like a more classic Mario Kart experience that benefits from years of post-launch updates and support, including dozens of extra characters and tracks in the form of a paid DLC add-on.

Monolith Soft’s remaster of the Wii U open-world RPG only came out earlier this year and the Woot discount is its cheapest price yet. It’s $47 for a physical copy (the international version) which is 22 percent off the standard $60 price. It’s the definitive version of a great game that belongs in every RPG lover’s Switch collection. I suspect physical copies of it will become harder and harder to find, too. The soundtrack is great, the mechs are fun, and the world is sci-fi as hell.

Perhaps the most telling comparison is with Pyth Network (PYTH), which erupted for a nearly 60% single-day gain. This monumental pump was not triggered by an exchange listing, but by a foundational development: a formal partnership with the U.S. Department of Commerce for onchain data verification.
