WLFI token debuts today: can it reach $0.50?

by admin September 1, 2025

The WLFI token is making its highly anticipated debut today, with a 5 billion token unlock and over $5 billion in derivatives trading volume setting the stage for explosive price action once trading opens.

Summary

  • WLFI derivatives volume surged past $5 billion in 24 hours, with OI up 25% to $850 million, signaling high volatility ahead.
  • Long/short ratios above 5:1 on Binance and 6:1 on OKX show traders are heavily betting on upside.
  • About 5 billion WLFI tokens are entering circulation today, creating a $1.6–$1.7 billion market cap at current prices and setting the stage for a battle between selling pressure and speculative demand.

The World Liberty Financial (WLFI) token is officially launching, with Binance becoming the first exchange to list it. Trading for the new spot pairs—WLFI/USDT and WLFI/USDC—will begin today, Sept. 1, at 13:00 UTC, with deposits having already opened and withdrawals scheduled to begin on tomorrow. Other major exchanges have also confirmed plans to list WLFI, including KuCoin, Gate, Bithumb, Upbit, Kraken, OKX, HTX, MEXC, LBank, and Bitrue, making it available on all the major trading platforms.

The listing closely follows a community-driven decision to allow WLFI tokens to be traded, which had previously been non-transferable to comply with regulatory restrictions. On August 22, the World Liberty Financial community voted to unlock 20% of the supply (~5 billion of WLFI tokens) held by early supporters on Sept. 1 at 12pm UTC, creating the first opportunity for these holders to move or trade their tokens on CEXs.

WLFI token price prediction

Based on derivatives data from Coinglass, the WLFI token is already attracting significant speculative attention. Futures trading volume surged to $5.0 billion in the past 24 hours, up more than +400%, while OI climbed 25% to $850 million. Such an expansion in leveraged positioning typically signals heightened volatility ahead.

The long/short ratio across major exchanges suggests a bullish tilt. On Binance, the ratio of long to short accounts is over 5.4, while OKX shows a similar ratio above 6.3. Even among top traders on Binance, the long/short ratio stands firmly above 5.2, suggesting that market participants are positioning for upside.

On the price side, WLFI futures have already pushed toward the $0.30–$0.32 range, supported by steadily climbing OI. If momentum persists and speculative capital continues to flow in, WLFI could realistically test the $0.40–$0.50 zone in the short term.

Source: Coignlass

The upcoming unlock is critical for price discovery. At the current price of around $0.32–$0.34, the circulating market cap would sit at approximately $1.6–$1.7 billion. If WLFI were to trade at $0.50 post-unlock, circulating market cap would rise to $2.5 billion, firmly placing it in the mid-cap tier of cryptocurrencies, while its FDV would rival or surpass several of the top 10 assets by size.

However, it’s important to note that the unlock introduces a potential supply overhang, as some early investors may take profits after steep paper gains from earlier private sale rounds at $0.015 and $0.05. At the same time, surging derivatives interest suggests strong speculative demand could absorb much of this selling pressure. The net effect will likely determine whether WLFI consolidates in the $0.30s or makes a decisive move toward the $0.40–$0.50 range in the near term.

Today in video games – 1st September: a new month begins and Silksong approaches

by admin September 1, 2025

September is here so we’re also here with another daily report, collating all of today’s gaming news and events in one place.

As September arrives, the fabled release of Hollow Knight sequel Silksong approaches. The game we seem to have been waiting an eternity for releases this week. Will it have been worth the wait?

September also marks the beginning of an uptick in big releases as the holiday shopping season approaches – I can’t believe I’m alluding to Christmas already – and today we see the review-results of one of them: eerie action adventure Hell is Us. It was a mixed bag for Ed.

Onwards!

What Happened In Crypto Today

Today in crypto, Investor and analyst Jordi Visser predicts AI will drive BTC investment, California Governor Gavin Newsom says his planned memecoin is meant to expose the absurdity of Trump’s crypto ventures. Meanwhile, crypto social media activity suggests potentially more downside ahead for the market.

AI to “speed up” rate of change, drive investors to Bitcoin as safe haven

Market analyst and investor Jordi Visser said AI will make stocks obsolete in the coming decades by exponentially reducing the innovation cycle and increasing the rate of change in society, ultimately driving investors to Bitcoin (BTC).

Visser told podcaster and investor Anthony Pompliano that AI will speed up innovation so much that slow-moving public companies will not maintain profitability or even get off the ground in an age of such rapid change. He said:

“If the innovation cycle is now sped up to weeks, we are in a video game where your company never hits escape velocity, and in that world, how do you invest? You don’t invest, you trade.”

Visser said the change would force investors to seek an alternative store of value like Bitcoin, which would outlast conventional investment vehicles and publicly traded companies.

California governor teases ‘Trump Corruption Coin’ in jab at MAGA memecoins

California Governor Gavin Newsom has teased plans to launch a “Trump Corruption Coin” as a direct response to Donald Trump’s controversial involvement in crypto, especially through memecoins.

Speaking on the “Pivot” podcast, Newsom, a Democrat, said the planned memecoin, named explicitly after Trump’s alleged scandals, is part of his broader “Campaign for Democracy” initiative, with proceeds from the coin going toward redistricting efforts and voter outreach.

“We’re about to put a meme coin out,” Newsom said during the interview. “And you know what, Donald Trump? We’ll see how well your coin does versus our coin.” When asked if it would be called a “Gavin Coin,” the governor replied: “No, it’s Trump Corruption Coin.”

“We’re just trying to turn up the heat and tune people into the absurdity,” he added. “This is one of the great grifters of our time,” Newsom said of Trump. “None of this is normal.”

Gavin Newsom: “We’re about to put a meme coin out.”

Kara Swisher: “Is it going to be gold Gavin Coin?”

Newsom: “No, it’s Trump Corruption Coin… this is one of the great grifters of our time… His family is sent out before these foreign trips doing deals. The crony capitalism… pic.twitter.com/HNknqlm9Gi

Crypto ‘buy the dip’ calls are spiking, which may signal more downside

The rising number of “buy the dip” calls following Bitcoin’s 5% drop over the past week could signal more downside ahead for the crypto market, according to sentiment platform Santiment.

“Clearly, overall, in the markets, people are getting antsy and trying to find some entry spots now that prices have cooled down a bit,” Santiment analyst Brian Quinlivan said in a video published on YouTube on Saturday.

Santiment said in a separate report published on the same day that social media mentions of “buy the dip” have increased significantly amid the crypto market downturn, which may be a warning sign for the market.

“Don’t interpret ‘buy the dip’ chatter as a definitive bottom signal. A true market floor often coincides with widespread fear and a lack of interest in buying,” Santiment said.

“History is repeating itself” The real-world inspirations of Hell is Us are as relevant today as they were 30 years ago

by admin August 28, 2025

“The true horrors of war are a very important narrative pillar of the game. We wanted to do it justice. It’s never done gratuitously, it’s never done in a grotesque way, [but] we want to depict human conflicts as realistically as possible.”

I am speaking with technical designer Simon Girard about Hell is Us, the upcoming action-adventure game from Rogue Factor. In Hell is Us, players take on the role of Rémi, who is searching for his parents in the fictional country of Hadea. However, Hadea is being ravaged by infighting and in the midst of a civil war.

This set up immediately brings to mind the current situation in Gaza, and the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people, which begs the question: Did real world events inspire Hell is Us?

“Our creative director Jonathan Jacques-Belletête is a huge history buff, and one of his topics of interest is armed conflict, specifically civil wars, because the nature is of neighbours-against-neighbours,” Girard says of the general civil war theme. “It’s not one country against another. It’s people who are the same, right? They’re divided amongst either geographical or cultural or religious lines, but they’re one in the same.”

So while Hadea is a fictional country and Hell is Us is telling a fictional story, Girard says this has been a topic Jacques-Belletête had been wanting to explore for some time now, and inspiration was taken from 90s wars, which is shown in the clothing. “But, in terms of answering your question, the two main themes we explore with war are the human emotions that are causing this conflict, because the exacerbation of certain emotions can lead to conflict, and the cyclical nature of violence,” Girard continues. This cyclical nature is central to Hell is Us’ overall narrative, and Girard says it is “uncanny” that 30 years later, we are once again living in a world where a civil war is at the centre of many news stories on a daily basis.

“History is repeating itself, and I think without us taking a moralising approach – that’s not what we are about – there is something that resounds with a lot of people because yes [Hell is Us] is far away, is fictional, but at the same time, it has a powerful echo in it.” He reflects on the announcement trailer for Hell is Us, which showed a female civilian executing a soldier kneeling down in front of her, saying his people killed her family. That trailer happened to come out around the time of 2022’s Crimea attacks.

“We find a big echo in our own reality.”

“The studio wanted to create this fictional story. It had no basis in modern history, had no pretence in being a mirror-like reality. It’s a fictional story in a fictional country. But then this happens, right? So, again, we find a big echo in our own reality,” Girard says. He notes Hell is Us has over 160 NPCs, and all of them have been impacted by the war going on around them, be they victims, bystanders or participants.

“No one is left indifferent,” he says.

More generally, Hell is Us has “three different narrative layers”, Girard tells me. The first is Rémi’s own story and his motivations. The second is of the civil war going on in Hadea, and the third is of The Calamity, which resulted in the appearance of supernatural creatures that also inhabit the land (see image below).

“They’re all intertwined somehow, and all these layers are very important to the story, or the multiple stories that you’ll get out of this experience,” Girard says, without giving too much away for fear of spoiling something. He adds, however, there are “strong narrative and mechanical links and implications” between everything that has been teased so far, but it is up to the player to find out just what they are.

“It’s a very rich environment for us to play with and tell stories with.”

“It’s a type of game I am sure will have subreddits of people trying to [piece together] the same things,” the developer says, talking about the many different items and “information elements” players will be able to find scattered throughout Hell is Us, and which will help shape the world’s narrative. “I am sure people will go very meta outside of the game and try to draw links between some stuff, and reorder things historically or phonologically,” he says, likening it to Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings adaptations. “You see this three hour long movie, and it’s a full set piece from beginning to end. But, it’s based on material that’s much larger, right? There’s this whole world behind it.”

The team has built Hell is Us’ world from scratch, Girard continues, and that includes weaving in a fictional history dating back hundreds of years. This means players will be able to find out why Hadea became a hermit kingdom, and discover more about the ruins that lie among more modern settlements. “It’s a very rich environment for us to play with and tell stories with,” Girard says.

But while Hell is Us will include plenty of lore to untangle, the developer isn’t including what some would say are video game staples – a map and quest markers. The team has instead focused on environmental cues to guide players to where they should go, and a compass to allow them to orient themselves.

“It transpires in the level design, it transpires in the environmental design.”

Girard tells me about a settlement players will come across early on in Hell is Us. At one entrance, they may come across a military captain, who mentions an outpost in the town. “But let’s say you enter the town another way, and you miss the captain, the first thing you can find is either the blacksmith shop [which is illuminated], or there are other characters you can talk to who will also have threads you can fold in that will bring you into what you need to do for your main quest,” he explains. “It’s important to give multiple entry points into the main storyline at all times… and you may even stumble into story elements organically. Your exploration and time is always rewarded in different ways, ranging from the main story, secondary quest lines or just lore elements.”

The Hell is Us team decided early on that they weren’t going to include a traditional map, with this idea being a “design philosophy” for everything else. “It transpires in the level design, it transpires in the environmental design, it gives you different vistas in the background that also represent places that catch your eye from afar that you want to go to,” Girard elaborates. “In interior dungeons that can be very maze-like, we think ‘how can we make each room stand out so you can orient yourself’. So, the frescos [in these areas] are all unique, so you are never lost as a player.”

Hell is Us also features audio cues, which players can follow to help find their way through the world. An example of this happens early in the game, and those who have played the demo will recall it – the wind chimes in the woodland area. “If you’re playing on a 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound system, you could close your eyes and just navigate using the audio at that point,” Girard says. “It’s a small segment, but it’s such a nice touch.”

My time with Girard is coming to an end, but it is clear the developer has so much more he wishes he could share. “It’s been a labour of love and passion from our team,” he says, catching sight of the time. “We began pre-production of this before the pandemic in 2020, so it’s five and a half years in the making. We began with 35 people, we are now 55. The studio has grown, we’ve built up pools and pipelines and ways of communicating and working together which are now defining what the future of Rogue Factor will be like for us, beyond everything commercial.”

“Don’t get me wrong, the more copies we sell the happier we are,” he closes with a laugh, “but beyond that, for us to be able to say this is Rogue Factor now, this is who we are and these are the types of experiences you can expect from us going forward, that was our main driving force… to find our own space and our own identity, where we can welcome people and have something interesting to present to them.”

Hell is Us – which stars Elias Toufexis, aka Adam Jensen from the Deus Ex series, as Rémi – is set to release next week, on 4th September.

Why is the crypto market going up today? (Aug. 27)

by admin August 27, 2025

The crypto market is going up today, Aug. 27, as investors wait for the upcoming Nvidia earnings and after Federal Reserve’s John Williams sounded optimistic about interest rate cuts.

Summary

  • The crypto market is going up today, with the market capitalization soaring to $3.87 trillion.
  • The jump was in anticipation of the upcoming NVIDIA earnings.
  • Federal Reserve’s John Williams hinted of a potential interest rate cut.

Bitcoin (BTC) jumped to $111,140, while Ethereum (ETH) soared to $4,600. Some of the top gainers were altcoins like Hyperliquid, Livepeer, and Numeraire.

Crypto market going up ahead of Nvidia earnings

One potential reason why the crypto market is rallying is the upcoming Nvidia earnings. Its numbers matter because it is the biggest company in the world and the biggest player in the artificial intelligence industry.

Historically, Nvidia earnings have had implications for the stock and crypto markets. Strong numbers and guidance will lead to a risk-on sentiment and push these assets higher.

On the other hand, a weak report could drag shares lower overnight and into the market open on Thursday.

Analysts anticipate the company’s revenue to come in at $48 billion, a 52% jump from last year.

Hopes of Federal Reserve interest rate cuts rise

The crypto market is going up as investors remain optimistic that the Federal Reserve will cut interest rate on Sep. 17. Jerome Powell hinted about that in his speech at the Jackson Hole Symposium on Friday.

John Williams, New York Fed President, also hinted that the bank may cut. He said that he expects the next meeting to be “live” amid balanced risks. By balanced risks, he was referring to recent data showing that inflation and the jobless rate were rising.

Soaring open interest and falling liquidations

The crypto market is also going up amid rising activity in the derivatives market. CoinGlass data shows that the futures open interest rose by 2% to $207 billion.

Bitcoin’s open interest jumped to $82 billion, while Ethereum’s rose for three consecutive days, reaching a high of $64 billion. Other top cryptocurrencies like Solana, XRP, and Dogecoin also experienced higher open interest, a sign of rising demand.

At the same time, liquidations dropped by 72% to $200 million. Falling liquidations mean that exchanges are not forcefully closing positions, triggering more selling pressure.

Potential dead cat bounce

It is still too early to predict whether this surge will last, as recent surges have been short-lived.

As such, there is a risk that the ongoing crypto market rally could be a dead cat bounce. A DCB is a situation in which an asset in a downtrend stages a temporary rebound and then falls again. A good example of this is when cryptocurrencies rallied on Friday after Powell’s speech and then resumed their free fall during the weekend.

Our favorite smart lock is on sale for the first time today

by admin August 25, 2025

Setting up a smart home security system is important, even if you never want to think about having to use it. Thankfully, Kwikset’s Halo Select — the best smart lock we’ve ever tested — is currently down to $259 ($20 off) at Amazon, Lowe’s, and The Home Depot, marking the first time the lock has been on sale since its launch late last year.

In her review, Verge reviewer Jennifer Pattison Tuohy praised the Halo Select for supporting four entry methods: a physical key, Kwikset’s app, a location-based auto-unlock feature, and a pin code. The lock was also easy to install thanks to the detailed instructions Kwikset provided, along with its intuitive mobile app. Out of the box, the Halo Select works with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Kwikset’s app via the cloud. If you have a Matter controller and Thread border router — such as a current-gen Apple TV, a recent Echo speaker, or an Eero router — you can connect to those platforms locally, and gain the ability to control the lock using Apple Home or Samsung SmartThings.

In our tests, using the Halo Select over Matter significantly improved its battery life. However, using the Halo Select via Matter meant giving up its auto-unlock feature, which worked reliably. Having your door unlock itself as you’re walking up to it is very convenient, but Matter doesn’t currently support auto-unlock, door sensing, fingerprint access, or facial recognition. The auto-unlock feature also requires you to have Kwikset’s app open on your phone in the background. Still, if you want a futureproof smart lock that can do almost everything (even if you have to make a tough choice about which features to prioritize), it’s our top pick.

Why PEPETO soars above other crypto in the market today

Why PEPETO soars above other crypto in the market today

by admin August 25, 2025

Disclosure: This article does not represent investment advice. The content and materials featured on this page are for educational purposes only.

Analysts are weighing whether Cardano, Solana, Hyperliquid, or presale token Pepeto could lead the next crypto bull run.

Summary

  • Established cryptos like Cardano and Solana face limits in speed, adoption, and network stability, while newer projects like Hyperliquid remain largely untested.
  • Pepeto combines meme-driven culture with functional tools, staking rewards, and verified audits, attracting early investor interest during its presale.
  • Analysts see Pepeto as a rare opportunity in this bull run, offering both early exposure and infrastructure that sets it apart from older or purely speculative tokens.

Cardano and Solana remain established names with track records, while Hyperliquid is trying to push new concepts in DeFi. Yet a different contender is beginning to stand out. Pepeto (PEPETO), still in presale at just $0.000000149, has already raised more than $6.3 million and is building real tools to go alongside meme-driven culture. The real question is whether Pepeto can move past these older projects and become the defining crypto of this bull run.

Cardano secure but slow to deliver

Cardano (ADA) is often seen as a research heavy project with an academic style of development. Its rollout of smart contracts came only after long delays, and although its community has stayed committed, adoption has lagged behind other chains. Features that should have been quick to launch have taken years, leaving its ecosystem behind in DeFi, NFTs, and memecoins where quicker networks lead. Daily liquidity remains weak and developer growth is modest compared to rivals.

Because of these limits, Cardano is unlikely to emerge as a leader this cycle. It may remain a choice for long-term believers, but it lacks the speed and adaptability needed to capture attention in a fast-moving bull run.

Hyperliquid promising tech, unproven market position

Hyperliquid (HYPE) is a recent arrival in the decentralized trading space. It offers zero gas transactions and an on chain matching system, but these features are not lasting advantages as other platforms are already rolling out similar ideas. Real adoption remains very limited, and it faces established competition from platforms like dYdX and GMX that already dominate the market.

Its token HLP is still highly speculative with little real use or demand, leaving its value dependent on adoption that has not happened yet. This makes Hyperliquid a less convincing option this cycle, particularly when set against Pepeto, which already shows clear retail demand before launch.

Solana high speed, high risk

Solana (SOL) is known for fast and inexpensive transactions, which made it popular for NFTs, DeFi activity, and token launches. But the weaknesses are hard to ignore. The network has faced repeated outages that completely shut down activity, a major issue for long-term investors.

Its ecosystem is filled with pump-and-dump tokens that add heavy volatility and keep serious capital away. It also faces competition from other high-performance blockchains, which limits its ability to dominate. With such a large market cap already, even an 5x price move is nearly impossible, making Solana an unlikely leader in this bull run.

For that reason, many investors are beginning to look beyond Solana toward newer names like Pepeto that pair meme culture with real utility and room for expansion.

PEPETO meme power meets real utility

Why are analysts pointing to PEPETO as one of the coins most likely to lead this cycle? Because it combines the elements memecoins need like hype, community, and culture with real utility that older projects never offered.

Pepeto is already becoming one of the most discussed presales of 2025, rewarding buyers before its official launch. At just $0.000000149, early entries secure billions of tokens at the ground floor. With over $6.3 million already raised, which analysts see as very likely to grow further, and staking rewards at 238% APY, Pepeto gives investors both early benefits and exposure before Tier 1 exchange listings drive wider demand.

Branded as the God of Frogs and rumored to have links to an ex-PEPE founder, Pepeto fuses meme culture with working tools. Products like PepetoSwap for zero fee trading and PepetoBridge for secure cross chain transfers give it the infrastructure missing from most meme plays. Its tokenomics are built to protect holders with no tax on trading, no team wallets, and verified audits from Coinsult and SolidProof.

The math explains why so many are watching Pepeto. A $20,000 presale position secures more than 135 billion tokens. If Pepeto simply reaches PEPE’s current price of $0.00001003, that stake would be worth over $1.35 million. At 2x PEPE’s price, the value climbs past $2.7 million, and at 5x it could exceed $6.7 million, a result many analysts consider very possible in this cycle. These kinds of setups are exactly what created the biggest winners of past bull runs, and Pepeto is being seen as one of the few coins with real 100x to 200x potential in 2025.

Final takeaways

In today’s market where the fastest moves often deliver the largest rewards, Pepeto is showing itself to be more than just another presale. It represents a rare chance to position before the crowd. While Cardano and Solana face serious limits and Hyperliquid has yet to prove itself, Pepeto delivers meme power backed by infrastructure, tokenomics designed for fairness, and real products ready for adoption. At $0.000000149 with more than $6.3 million already raised and 238% APY staking live, the setup offers exactly the kind of asymmetry analysts look for.

Crypto Markets Today: Bitcoin Dominance Slip While Hyperliquid's Volume Soars to $3.4B

by admin August 25, 2025

What would a market that refuses to rally sustainably on the back of positive catalysts be called? A weak one, presumably.

Looking under the hood, there is more than one single catalyst that's driving this market's volatility.

Bitcoin (BTC) has retraced back to roughly where it was before the Fed Chairman Jerome Powell spoke dovishly on Friday. More losses could be in the pipeline if the support near $107,500 gives way, technical charts indicate.

Meanwhile, spot and options market flows point to a rotation into ether from bitcoin.

“BTC dominance slipped from 60% to 57% on the rotation. While still above the sub-50% levels of the 2021 altcoin season, positioning is feeding talk that whales expect ETH to outperform. If staking ETFs for ETH win approval later this year, that narrative would gain further support,” Singapore-based QCP Capital said in its daily market update.

Derivatives Positioning

  • BTC and HYPE's global futures open interest have increased by 1% and 3%, respectively, in the past 24 hours, bucking the broader trend of outflows observed in other top 10 tokens.
  • Cumulative open interest in USD and USDT-denominated perpetual futures across leading exchanges such as Binance, Bybit, OKX, Deribit, and Hyperliquid remained flat on Friday despite the price rally. However, since then, open interest has risen from approximately 260,000 BTC to 282,000 BTC, indicating a “sell on rally” sentiment among traders.
  • The opposite is the case in the ether market, where the OI ticked higher during Friday's rally and has retreated with the price pullback. This pattern suggests a temporary pause in bullish momentum rather than the establishment of new short positions, indicating a bullish breather rather than a shift toward bearish sentiment.
  • Speaking of funding rates, except for ADA, most tokens see positive rates, indicating a net bias for bullish long positions.
  • Altcoin futures OI exploded by more than $9.2 billion in a single day on Friday, pushing the combined total tally to a new high of $61.7 billion. “Such rapid inflows highlight how altcoins are increasingly driving leverage, volatility, and fragility across digital asset markets,” Glassnode said.
  • On the CME, open interest in ether options hit a notional record high of over $1 billion on Friday. This follows a record number of large holders in the futures market early this month. Ether futures OI hit a new high above 2 million ETH.
  • Notional open interest in BTC options rose to $4.85 billion, the highest since April, as futures activity remained subdued.
  • On Deribit, BTC options continued to show a bias for puts out to the December expiry, contradicting the post-Powell bullish sentiment in the market. In ether's case, calls traded at a slight premium.

Token Talk

  • Hyperliquid hit a new 24-hour spot volume ATH of $3.4B, powered by surging BTC and ETH deposits and trading via Hyperunit.
  • This spike positioned Hyperliquid as the second-largest venue for spot BTC trading, across both centralized and decentralized platforms, with $1.5B in BTC volume alone.
  • Such volume milestones improve Hyperliquid’s appeal by proving its ability to handle institutional-scale order flow.
  • The platform’s architecture — built on HyperCore (Layer‑1 with HyperBFT consensus) and HyperEVM — delivers sub-second finality, high throughput, and EVM compatibility, making it highly attractive to both high-frequency traders and DeFi builders.
