Jack Black returns as Officer Dick in THPS 3+4

by admin June 26, 2025

The Mario movie. The Minecraft movie. The Borderlands movie. Jack Black is everywhere in pop gaming culture lately, and will even make another appearance (well, technically two) in next month’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 remake. Black will reprise his role as Officer Dick, in addition to voicing Constable Richard, Dick’s UK counterpart, in the game’s London level.

As a child, Dick, real name Richard Ennvee, “was mocked by other skaters and called a ‘poser,’” according to an Activision press release. “Overtaken by the need for revenge, Dick vowed to one day become what those skaters feared most – the long arm of the law!” Although the good constable doesn’t get as much of a lore drop, he is promised to be “every bit as hard-nosed and utterly ridiculous as Officer Dick.”

For those who don’t remember the officer from the older games, he’s been an unlockable character in the franchise since the original game, and remained as such until Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3. He returned in Tony Hawk’s Project 8 and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD before making an appearance in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 as Jables himself.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is out July 11 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

Alien Ant Farm Is Bummed Its Song Was Cut From THPS 3+4

Alien Ant Farm Is Bummed Its Song Was Cut From THPS 3+4

by admin June 19, 2025

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 will include some of the original songs found in the original PS2-era skating games. But not everything is making the leap to the remaster, including one Alien Ant Farm song, a move the band understands, but still called a “bummer” in a recent interview.

THPS 3+4 Does Away With The OG 4’s Career Mode, Here’s Why

Speaking to the BBC, as spotted by VGC, earlier this week, Alien Ant Farm band members Terry Corso (guitarist) and Dryden Mitchell (lead singer) were asked about a post on the group’s official Instagram account. The band’s official account replied with a single sad emoji face to the news of THPS 3+4‘s soundtrack reveal and confirmation that “Wish” won’t be included. The song was included on THPS 3‘s original soundtrack.

“Is it a bummer that we weren’t invited, or that they didn’t include us? Absolutely,” Corso told the BBC. “We understand that they’re trying to bring some new stuff onto these releases, and if you’ve gotta make cuts, you’ve gotta make cuts. I don’t know why it had to be us, I feel like our song was really good on there, and it did really well.”

“I kind of get it,” said Mitchell, “That skating feels a little bit more like the punk side and we’re not a punk band, but I think that’s what makes a cool soundtrack, is a collection, being different.”

If the band wants to blame anyone, they can directly blame Tony Hawk himself. In March, the skateboard legend and star of the franchise explained that he was the one who made the call on removing some classic songs from the upcoming remaster in order to replace them with new tracks.

“It was my choice to pick some different songs by the same artists featured in THPS3+4. I’m hoping that discovery is half the fun, and a big reason that these soundtracks resonated in the first place. So listen and enjoy the ride.”

There is, as far as we know, not a single Alien Ant Farm song in THPS 3+4. So either Activision and Tony Hawk included something like “Movies” in the upcoming remake, or he just doesn’t like Alien Ant Farm very much, and they were totally cut from the game.

Well, whatever, Mr. Hawk, you can’t stop me from including some Alien Ant Farm in this very post! Take that, buddy! Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 is set to launch on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, Switch 2, and PC on July 11, 2025.

The Villain From Tony Hawk’s Underground Is In THPS 3+4

by admin June 12, 2025

Players will be able to find a classic skater villain in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 when it launches in July on consoles and PC. And they’ll once again be able to defeat the asshole who first appeared back in Tony Hawk’s Undeground.

THPS 3+4 Does Away With The OG 4’s Career Mode, Here’s Why

In a recent video from Jeff Gertsmann, as spotted by VGC, he was able to play and stream an early build of THPS 3+4 and also showcase some b-roll footage of the game from Activision. THPS 3+4 is a full remake of the PS2-era games Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4, complete with new levels, improved visuals, and more. And it was in this video that Gertsmann revealed that Eric Sparrow from Tony Hawk’s Underground makes an appearance in Waterpark, which is one of the remake’s new levels.

Sparrow, sporting a new look, can be found in the waterpark-themed level and is part of an objective titled “Get Back at Eric Sparrow.” When touched, he will push the player and yell at them in a voice that sounds a lot like how he sounded in the OG PS2 game. Sadly, the build Gerstmann was playing didn’t let him actually complete the mission, so we aren’t sure yet how the player will “get back” at the THUG villain. It might involve grinding a piece of the map to knock over a large bucket filled with water above Sparrow.

If you’ve never played THUG, then it’s just a random and odd challenge in a level filled with other things to do. If you have played THUG, you’ll remember Sparrow is a real asshole who screwed you over and betrayed you in that game’s campaign.

So, is this a tease that Activision and Iron Galaxy have plans to develop a full remake of Tony Hawk’s Underground? Many fans of the series want that to happen. Even Tony Hawk himself has said he’d love a remake of THUG.

“I always have aspirations,” Hawk told ScreenRant in May. “It’s not up to me generally. I’ll campaign all I can, but I’m working with a much bigger company that’s a lot smarter than me.”

It’s also possible that while developing a brand new level in THPS 3+4, Iron Galaxy decided to pay tribute to a fan favorite game in the series with a cheeky little cameo. We’ll have to wait and see what happens.

People Are Already Pulling Off 100 Million+ Combos In THPS 3+4

by admin June 11, 2025

The new Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 demo is now live on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. And folks, after playing it, I’m really excited to check out the full game next month. And I’m excited to see people set new records in it.

THPS 3+4 Does Away With The OG 4’s Career Mode, Here’s Why

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 is nearly here. In case you missed it, the game was announced earlier this year and combines THPS 3 and THPS 4 into one big package. This is a similar setup to 2020’s excellent Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, and THPS 3+4 is even built on the same tech as that last game. This new release includes all the old skaters (even Bam Margera) and the classic levels, as well as new levels, skaters, tricks, and more. And ahead of the remake’s release in July, Activision has put out a demo for people who pre-ordered the game. I’ve put an hour or so into the demo, and I’m happy to report it’s very, very good.

The key to a good Tony Hawk game isn’t the music, the maps, or even the skaters. Those are important parts of the formula, for sure, but the real core of any good THPS game is how it feels. You gotta nail that snappy, arcadey, precise, but still fun and exaggerated skateboarding feel that people have loved since the first game launched back in 1999. And THPS 3+4 feels wonderful.

It definitely helps that developer Iron Galaxy has built this new remake on top of the old THPS 1+2 foundation. But if it ain’t broke (and THPS 1+2 wasn’t), don’t fix it. Within ten minutes, I had my THPS legs back under me and was effortlessly flipping, grinding, manualing, and hopping around the two maps included in the demo. I had a big grin on my face the whole time. And the moment CKY’s “96 Quite Bitter Beings” kicked in as I was in the middle of a combo, I was sold on this game. I want to play the whole thing right now.

Meanwhile, much better digital skaters than I are already pulling off sick high-score combos in the demo’s levels. Here’s someone nailing an insane 219 million point combo in Foundry.

And here’s another person pulling off a sick 105 million combo in College. In both cases, the players are using lines and tricks that worked back in the original games, a testament to how perfectly THPS 3+4 has nailed the feel of the old games, as well as making sure the fancy-looking levels still play (mostly) like you remember.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 launches July 11 on *deep breath* PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, Switch 2, and PC.
