Mario Tennis Fever Preorders Are Live – First Mario Sports Game For Switch 2

Mario Tennis Fever is available to preorder for $70 at multiple major retailers ahead of its release next year on February 12, 2026. The latest Mario sports game is the first for Nintendo Switch 2 and will be exclusive to the new hardware. And like most Nintendo-published titles for Switch 2, Mario Tennis Fever retails for $70.

Mario Tennis Fever was unveiled on September 12 during the Super Mario 40th Anniversary section of the latest Nintendo Direct. The livestream also revealed Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2, which releases much sooner (October 2) and is available for Switch 2 and original Switch.

Mario Tennis Fever’s physical edition is up for preorder at Amazon, Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and GameStop. No preorder bonuses have been revealed, but retailers often have exclusive bonuses for Nintendo games. We’ll update this story if that happens with Mario Tennis Fever.

The full game is stored on the Switch 2 game card. Nintendo estimates a 10GB download for the digital edition of Mario Tennis Fever, which is available to preorder on the eShop for the same price.

Technically, Mario Tennis Fever is the second Mario sports game to release exclusively on Switch 2. Nintendo recently added Super Mario Strikers to the GameCube catalog for Switch Online + Expansion Pack members. But Mario Tennis Fever is the first all-new Mario sports game for Switch 2.

Mario Tennis Fever will have local and online multiplayer for up to four players. It supports button/stick controls as well as motion controls with the Joy-Con 2. You’ll be able to play as 38 different characters from the Mushroom Kingdom. The “Fever” moniker is a reference to this entry’s new twist: Fever Rackets. There are 30 Fever Rackets with unique special effects such as freezing the court and shrinking your opponent’s racket.

In the new Adventure Mode, monsters who inhabit a mysterious island turn Mario, Luigi, Peach, Wario, and Waluigi into babies. Donkey Kong is also in the campaign, but he isn’t a baby (sadly). Baby Mario and his friends will need to develop their tennis skills all over again to escape the island.

Other game modes include Trial Towers, Tournament, Ranked Matches, Online Room, and Mix It Up. Mario Tennis Fever will borrow from Super Mario Bros. Wonder by having Talking Flowers commentate matches in Tournament Mode and by introducing Wonder Effects to Mix It Up Mode.

Mario Sports Games for Nintendo Switch

The last Mario Tennis game, Mario Tennis Aces, released back in 2018 and was the first Mario sports title for the original Switch, too. Since the Nintendo Switch 2 is backward compatible, you can play the trio of Mario sports games for Switch on the new console: Mario Tennis Aces, Mario Golf: Super Rush, and Mario Strikers: Battle League.

More Nintendo Direct Game Preorders

Along with the new Mario games, Nintendo announced release dates for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment. Preorders are also open for seven new Amiibo, including a pair of Super Mario Galaxy figures. Mario fans should also check out Rosalina’s Storybook, a hardcover edition of the in-game book from Mario Galaxy published by Dark Horse. Preorders for Rosalina’s Storybook are live now for $25 at Amazon.

Nintendo Reveals Mario Tennis Fever, Launches On Switch 2 in February

Nintendo has revealed Mario Tennis Fever, the next entry in the long-running Mario-fronted tennis series, and it’s coming exclusively to Switch 2 in February. More specifically, it launches on Switch 2 on February 12. 

Nintendo announced the game during today’s Nintendo Direct with a gameplay trailer showcasing new footwork additions like the ability to slide, dive, and more. Plus, there are 30 different Fever Rackets to use; build up your Fever meter and unleash special moves with the Flame Racket, Ice Racket, Mini Mushroom Racket, and even the Shadow Racket. Each of these rackets comes with its own special ability, and you can pair them with 38 different playable characters.

Mario Tennis Fever features various modes like Tournament, Trial Towers, Mix It Up, which features Wonder Flowers, and Online Modes. Plus, you can use the Joy-Con 2’s motion controls via Swing Mode. In the Adventure mode, characters are turned into babies and you’ll need to teach them how to play tennis, defeat monsters, and advance through various worlds to get things back to normal.

Polish CEO’s company review bombed after stealing hat from a child at tennis game

A clip of a man snatching stealing a hat meant for a child from tennis player Kamil Majchrzak went viral, and it’s resulted in instant karma for the man identified as Polish CEO Piotr Szczerek.

Some sports fans are more passionate than others when it comes to getting their hands on memorabilia from big games, but most adults wouldn’t stoop to taking something meant to be given to a child by one of their favorite players.

However, one man did just that, and it was caught on camera for the world to see. Polish millionaire and CEO Piotr Szczerek snatched a hat that was meant for a child right out from under him. This resulted in a massive uproar to try and get that hat to the child it was meant for.

Not only did the young boy get to meet Majchrzak as a result of this whole debacle, but the CEO who snatched the hat is getting his business review bombed on Polish forums.

Tennis hat thief identified as Polish CEO Piotr Czczerek

The clip went viral all over social media, with the man now identified as Czczerek grabbing the hat right out of Majchrzak’s hand when it was clearly meant for the child rather than him.

Brock, the kid who had the hat stolen, could be seen pleading with Majchrzak, trying to get his attention to no avail. Once people saw what happened, the clip went viral and garnered tens of millions of views.

Fortunately, this story does have a happy ending. Majchrzak saw what happened and reached out to the child directly, giving him an autographed hat and meeting him personally.

The tennis star posted the meeting on his Instagram story, giving Brock his time in the spotlight and showing that he finally got the hat to the person it was intended for.

As for Piotr Czczerek, he’s the millionaire CEO of a paving company in Poland called Drogbruk. After being called out for it, he defended himself on a Gowork forum, saying the following:

“The recent incident at the tennis match has caused a disproportionate online uproar. It’s all about the famous hat, of course. Yes, I took it. Yes, I did it quickly. But as I’ve always said, life is first come, first served,” he claimed.

“I understand that some people might not like it, but please, let’s not make a global scandal out of the hat. It’s just a hat. If you were faster, you would have it. Regarding online hate, I remind you that insulting a public figure is subject to legal liability. All offensive comments, slander, and insinuations will be analyzed for the possibility of taking the matter to court.

“In the end, chin up, hats off, less venom, more sportsmanship.”

Hundreds of comments from people on the forum were calling him out, claiming the CEO is a “thief”, “jerk”, and “embarrassing” among other more colorful language.

The US Open broke records in 2024 by offering the largest purse in tennis history. The final Grand Slam tournament of 2025 is upping the ante this year.

The 2025 US Open will be the first tennis event to reach $90 million in total player compensation, topping the $75 million at stake last summer. The total marks a 20% increase. Reigning men’s and women’s singles champions Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka will look to defend their crowns in New York and take home a respective winning share of $5 million.

The Billie Jean King National Tennis Center looks primed to serve up a blockbuster finale to the Grand Slam season, as the world’s top players head to Flushing Meadows for two weeks of top tennis action at the 2025 US Open.

Below, we’ll outline the best live TV streaming services to watch every match of the tournament as it happens, along with a full US Open schedule. 

The men’s tournament looks likely to provide another chapter in the burgeoning rivalry between defending US Open champ Jannik Sinner and Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz. 

Ranked No. 1 in the world, Italy’s Sinner claimed the Australian Open title in January and followed that up by dethroning Alcaraz to win his first Wimbledon final in June. Meanwhile, Alcaraz, ranked No. 2, took the French Open title in an exhilarating final showdown with Sinner, described by many pundits as the greatest ever final at Roland Garros.

Outside of the big two, this year’s tournament also gives Novak Djokovic possibly a final opportunity to land a record-breaking 25th Grand Slam title, with the Serbian star hitting the grand old age of 38 back in May. 

Defending champ Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Świątek and Coco Gauff, meanwhile, headline a wide-open women’s field.

Sabalenka will be looking for redemption after suffering agonising defeats in the finals of the Australian and French Opens, followed by a disappointing semifinal exit at Wimbledon. The main threat to her crown looks set to come from No. 2 seed Świątek, with the in-form Pole following her Wimbledon win in July with victory at the recent Cincinnati Open.

This year marks the 139th edition of the US Open, with the men’s and women’s champions both set to earn $5 million.

US Open 2025: Where and when is it?

The US Open 2025 takes place between Sunday, Aug. 24, and Sunday, Sept. 7, at the iconic Billie Jean King Tennis Center in Queens, New York. Play usually begins at 11 a.m. ET each morning (8 a.m. PT,  4 p.m. BST in the UK and 1 a.m. AEST in Australia) and continues through the afternoon and sometimes well into the evening.

Livestream the US Open 2025 in the US

Linear TV coverage of the US Open this year will chiefly be shown on ESPN. The women’s singles will be shown on ESPN, ESPN Plus and ESPN Deportes, and the men’s singles final will be broadcast on ABC, ESPN Plus and ESPN Deportes. 

Those wanting comprehensive coverage of this year’s tournament will need to consider the all-new ESPN streaming service and its corresponding app. The platform will show every match of the tournament live, broadcasting each day at 11 a.m. ET and continuing until the close of play.

ESPN’s new flagship streaming service and app, called simply ESPN, costs $30 as a standalone service or $36 a month if bundled with Disney Plus and Hulu.

The new streaming service gives you access to the full suite of ESPN networks and services in one subscription, including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNEWS, ESPN Deportes, SEC Network and ACC Network, as well as ESPN on ABC, ESPN Plus, ESPN3, SECN Plus and ACCNX.

Sling TV/CNET

Sling TV’s Orange plan includes ESPN, while its Blue plan offers ABC only in a few select markets. Either option costs $46 per month. If you get ABC where you live and want all three channels for the US Open, you’ll need the combined Orange-and-Blue plan, which now costs $61.

Livestream US Open 2025 in the UK 

Viewers in the UK can once again stream US Open action through Sky Sports, which has the exclusive live broadcast rights for this year’s tournament.

If you already have Sky Sports as part of your TV package, you can stream matches via its Sky Go app, but cord-cutters will want to get set up with a Now account and a Now Sports membership to stream the action from New York.

Sky subsidiary Now (formerly Now TV) offers streaming access to Sky Sports channels with a Now Sports membership. You can get a day of access for £15, or sign up to a monthly plan from £35 a month right now.

Stream the US Open 2025 in Australia for free

Tennis fans Down Under can watch live coverage of select US Open matches, including the men’s and women’s finals, on free-to-air Channel Nine’s streaming service 9Now.

For dedicated tennis fans, pay-TV service Stan Sport is livestreaming every match on every court, ad-free.

Channel 9’s streaming service 9Now is free to use for viewers in Australia, with dedicated apps for Android and Apple devices, as well as Amazon Fire, plus a wide range of smart TVs.

Stan Sport will set you back AU$20 a month (on top of a AU$12 Stan subscription), but the streaming service is currently offering a seven-day free trial.

A subscription will also give you access to Premier League and Champions League soccer action, as well as international rugby and Formula E.
