Baldur’s Gate 3 custom campaign mod Path to Menzoberranzan breaks silence with update on development re-think and character reveal tease

by admin October 4, 2025

The modders behind a Baldur’s Gate 3 custom campaign dubbed Path to Menzoberranzan have put out their first progress update in a few months, having gone silent just after getting their first build working around June. The reason for that quiet spell, according to the group, has been a “wild” summer in which they’ve had to revamp their development pipeline to better fit the scale they’re aiming for with the mod.

They’ve also teased full reveals of three characters who’ll be playing roles in what the Path to Menzoberranzan team have thus far pitched as a custom adventure through some returning locations from previous games in the series to the Drow city that serves as the mod’s namesake.

“It’s been a while since our last progress update, but rest assured that we’ve been working hard behind the scenes,” Path to Menzoberranzan community manager Andrew Simone wrote in this latest announcement on the mod’s Discord server. “We promise the silence has been for a very good reason.”

“The past few months have been wild: what started as a rebuild of one area of Baldur’s Gate II has grown into a full-scale campaign,” he explained. “That leap has meant re-thinking a lot of our processes, from how we collaborate to how we build content. Our summer was spent tightening up our production pipeline so we can deliver something truly special!”

Simone went to on the add that the mod’s team “is kicking back into high gear, more so than ever before”, before teasing full reveals of “some unique individuals” including “a Drow cleric of Eilistraee, a swashbuckling human, a man resembling Frankenstein’s monster, and more!”

There’s no mention of the demo which the modders looked close to releasing around the time of their June update, with a Q and A section of the mod’s Discord that was last updated in June reading: “The team is working towards the first playable demo. At this time, the timeline for this demo is under review.” So, it’d seem the need for these few months of rejigging has led the group to move away from their original plan of aiming to release said demo around 2025’s midpoint.

Those sorts of changes or delays understandably always lead to folks wondering whether the project’s in danger of fizzling out, given how many ambitious mods have suffered that fate. Though, it’s worth noting that there have also been plenty of big mods which’ve still delivered despite certain elements taking longer than originally expected. While it’s a mod that’s been in development much longer than Path to Menzoberranzan, Fallout: London developers Team FOLON have only just released their first DLC, announced all the way back in December 2024. Some extra work on future save compatibility was acknowledged as part of the reason why that ended up being the time it took.

This latest Path to Menzoberranzan update concluded with an announcement that the modders are recruiting for six roles across their technical, user experience and design departments. These gigs are for a systems programmer, an integration programmer, a UX designer, a systems UX lead, an emotional UX lead, and game designer. If you’re interested, more details can be found via the recruiting channel of the mod’s Discord server.

The 'Stranger Things' Brothers Tease Their Paramount Plans

The ‘Stranger Things’ Brothers Tease Their Paramount Plans

by admin September 28, 2025

2025 will end with the end of Stranger Things, after which creators Matt and Ross Duffer will be at Paramount. While the pair are knee deep in putting the finishing touches on their Netflix hit, they talked up what’s to come once they’re exclusive to the Mission: Impossible and Transformers studio.

Movie-wise, the brothers intend to focus on original things, but they also told Variety they wouldn’t mind tackling a known property owned by Paramount. However, they stressed any IP they took on would have to be ones they “really responded to,” not just something that’s popular or would make a good headline. They didn’t offer more specifics in terms of criteria, but Matt brought up “botched” properties where “someone swung and missed, [and] then you have an opportunity to do it properly.”

When they’re not tackling movies, the Duffers hope to find and foster new talent, akin to what Shawn Levy did for them by backing Stranger Things. They don’t want to get as big as Bad Robot, though, so they’ll just focus on “identifying really talented people and then just helping them get their vision made and then mostly staying out of the way.”

As for the Duffers’ TV ventures, they intend repeat what they did with Stranger Things and make event shows in the eight-to-10 episode range. Shows with 20-episode or more seasons are “fatiguing,” said Matt, and neither brother grew up a fan of that model. But they want to continue making shows with shorter seasons and a “when it’s done” model, with Matt calling the traditional way “a diminishing return. I like the buildup.” Brother Matt also acknowleged that it’s strange the two even ended up in TV to begin with when they grew up on movies and aren’t really fans of television—but hey, look forward to the last run of Stranger Things episodes beginning November 26.

"Here comes the feeling" promises Kojima in latest maddening tease for Metal Gear-like Physint

“Here comes the feeling” promises Kojima in latest maddening tease for Metal Gear-like Physint

by admin September 23, 2025

Dear Hideo Kojima, you’d better give us a proper update on your new Metal Gear-style action-espionage game-movie wotsit Physint soon, because for every hour that passes, I think of another unbearable title pun.

I’m not very Physinterested in Physint right now, a game defined by what it Physisn’t. Perhaps I’d be more Physinto it if Kojima Productions would share a proper outline and explore the Physintricacies. But this is Hideo Kojima, a man of *grunts, strains* Sphysint-like enigma. Still, at least we now know that Don Lee from Train To Busan is in the stealthy film-o-game, together with Charlee Fraser from Furiosa and Minami Hamabe from Godzilla Minus One.

In a livestream last night, Kojima discussed working with 3Lateral to model each performer’s face. He shared some early renders of Hamabe in-engine. Yep, sure looks like a face.

Image credit: Push Square / Kojima Productions

He also shared some concept art from Physint, which certainly underlines the Metal Gear connections. There is a man in a flapping coat with a high collar. Or half a flapping coat, anyway. I can’t work out where the coat ends and his utility belt ends. He’s got a lot of weird harness wrapped around his right shoulder. Doubtless, this is Tactical.

Also, a rifle with a scope and a stock and a silencer. We can expect a mix of sneaky and open firefights, I expect. Behind the man there are tall forbidding buildings with a lonely bird visible against slate clouds. Hang on, the lonely bird is just a stray coffee grain on my laptop screen. Let me wipe it away. Ah, now I feel sad about the missing bird.

Is this sadness the Feeling referred to by the caption “Here Comes the Feeling”? Probably not. When will the Feeling actually arrive? In at least “another five or six years”, Kojima commented in May.

Physint is at least actually “in development”, now, following the release of Death Stranding 2 on console. Kojima decided to make a new game in the vein of Metal Gear following a recent illness. Here’s hoping the next trailer or livestream at least features more legible Tactical apparel. Physint, reveal thyself!

Nintendo Didn’t Tease A New 3D Mario During September’s Direct

by admin September 13, 2025

Today was the first big Nintendo Direct to happen since the company launched the Switch 2 earlier this year. 2025 is also the 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. So I was excited that the pre-recorded event started with a whole section dedicated to Mario. And then I was very sad.

Super Mario Odyssey launched all the way back in 2017 as a very early Switch game. And it was great. A truly wonderful 3D platformer. There wasn’t a more perfect time than today for Nintendo to announce the next mainline 3D Mario game. But that didn’t happen.

Instead, Mario’s dad, Shigeru Miyamoto, came out and talked about a marathon, some ticket designs, a theme park, a lightshow, an art museum, and then revealed the first look at the new Mario movie. I’d be fine with all that, except after showing off The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, Miyamoto said this:

“The movie will be the main event of the Super Mario Bros. 40th Anniversary event.”

Oh… well, uh, I guess that’s one way to celebrate video gaming’s most iconic character. And don’t worry, Chris Pratt is back to voice him.

The rest of the section dedicated to Mario’s 40th Anniversary was a bit better. Super Mario Galaxy 1+2 are coming to Switch and Switch 2. Super Mario Wonder is getting a Switch 2 upgrade and new co-op modes. And Mario Tennis Fever was revealed.

But then, Nintendo had one more announcement. Finally, it was time to end this section all about Mario’s big milestone with the thing we all wanted. And then Nintendo announced… a (very cute-looking) Yoshi game.

Welp, I guess no 3D Mario game is coming anytime soon. That’s a shame. And while I understand that Donkey Kong Bananza likely is the reason, and that game is awesome and I love it, I can’t help but feel like Mario’s 40th anniversary event was a dud.

Call the police. Call the Mushroom Kingdom’s law enforcement agency. Put out a missing person report. Mario is missing folks, for real this time, lost in the ever-expanding ambitions of Nintendo, a company once dedicated to games, that now has its fingers in so many other things.

The devs behind Nine Sols tease a possible follow-up with a mysterious, fictitious, creepypasta video essay

by admin September 11, 2025

It is always an exciting time when Red Candle Games are up to something. The sheer variety they’ve put on display with Detention, Devotion, and most recently Nine Sols is nothing to sniff at. Now, it appears they’re gearing up for the next project in an appropriately mysterious way. Earlier today, the official Red Candle Games YouTube channel shared a video titled “The Dark Legacy of the Sun Tribe,” and it certainly is… something.

The whole thing is done in one of those creepypasta kinda video essays, the kind where the voice over has either been pitched down, or performed by a robot, or both. And it’s all a bit, well, for lack of a better word, creepy. It opens up with the line “are you really human?” which is a question I thought only Yoko Taro was allowed to ask in video games, but nevertheless, an off putting way to start things.

Watch on YouTube

What proceeds is something that sounds like a conspiracy narrated by someone called Yuuki about human evolution, and that aforementioned dark legacy of the sun tribe. A tale is spun about an ancient bamboo scroll written in a language never seen before, a real Chinese alchemist named Xu Fu who sought after immortality by venturing to a place called Penglai, and a civilian scholar desperate to learn more.

A couple things worth noting here: the beginning of the video talks about people born with four fingers. Yi, the protagonist of Nine Sols, is a member of a race called the Solarians, who all have four fingers. Solarian obviously stems from solar, much like the sun tribe mentioned in this teaser. Immortality also comes up in Nine Sols, and Penglai is the name of the planet that Solarians are from. So, I don’t know about you, but this sure does seem like something Nine Sols is on the way.

A sequel? DLC? Something else entirely? It’s possible, the metroidvania did get a prequel manga earlier this year. For now, we’ll just have to let the conspiracy unravel itself…

The Creators of ‘Wednesday’ Tease Their Season 3 Plans

by admin September 8, 2025

The second season of Netflix’s Wednesday came to a close earlier this week, and with season three on the way, creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar have just one objective: “Make it the best season of [the show] we possibly can, and continue digging deeper into our characters,” according to Millar.

In a recent Tudum blog, the duo teased some things viewers can expect the third time around. While keeping mum on spoilers, they told audiences to examine season two’s final episode, which lays “a nice breadcrumb that leads audiences to wonder…what the new adventure for Wednesday will be.” Things ended with Nevermore Academy shut down, giving Wednesday the freedom to go with with Fester and Thing to find Enid up north. But finding her missing ahem, friend isn’t the only thing she’ll have to contend with: in the episode’s final moments, Wednesday’s maternal aunt Ophelia, who she previously had a vision about, used her blood to write of the Addams’ daughter’s death.

What’s coming for Wednesday that Ophelia knows about? Millar and Gough didn’t say, but they promised viewers would see and learn more of the Addams’ extended family. More light will also be shed on Nevermore—maybe paving the way for a spinoff starring another Addams? Either way, Millar and Gough called the show “such an alchemy of writing, directing, acting, crew, streamer, studio, and fans. We remain grateful and excited to continue this journey and tell these stories with all of our partners.”

No release window for Wednesday season three yet, but we’ll have more on it as news emerges.

XRP Breakout Delayed? Bollinger Bands Tease Next Move

by admin August 29, 2025

XRP is witnessing a delayed breakout move as the price dips by over 5% in the last 24 hours. Activities on the XRP marketplace suggest lingering selling pressure might be responsible for keeping XRP down. However, a technical indicator shows a breakout remains possible.

XRP’s support at $2.83 remains critical for bulls

According to data, XRP’s Bollinger Bands on the three-hour chart are showing huge dilation. This accounts for the intense volatility that the asset is experiencing on the market.

A close analysis of this technical indicator shows that prices have already hit the lower Bollinger Bands at $2.85.

This development suggests that despite the delays, a breakout is on the horizon. Once XRP can overcome this volatility and find stability, prices are likely to regain the $3 level at around $3.08.

The decline was triggered as traders exited positions after the coin plunged below $3. There appears to be an air of uncertainty among investors in the broader financial space, resulting in cautious trading.

The coin slipped from an intraday high of $3.02, breaching the psychological $3 level to its current position.

As of press time, XRP is changing hands at $2.83, which represents a 5.68% decline in the last 24 hours. However, trading volume remains up by 8.64% at $7.59 billion within the same time frame.

Long-term outlook points to eventual breakout

As previously reported by U.Today, the current $2.83 price level remains a critical spot for the coin. The support was where bulls stepped in to prevent further decline in the past. The asset’s upward journey in the event of a breakout will have to overcome the $3.10 resistance level.

Meanwhile, Raoul Pal, Global Macro Investor chief executive, believes XRP is in long-term consolidation and would break out soon.

How soon this will be for an asset that has shown resilience in recent times is what investors have to wait and find out.

Fallout Season 2 Images Tease New Vegas Before The Bombs Fell

by admin August 19, 2025

The second season of Amazon Prime’s live-action Fallout show arrives later this year, but before then, we have some new images of the post-apocalyptic series, and one in particular featuring a shot of Las Vegas before the bombs dropped and turned it into New Vegas is very, very intriguing.

On August 18, Amazon shared seven new images of the upcoming season of its hit Fallout TV show. The new screenshots show a variety of characters and locations, but the one that immediately caught my eye was a single shot of Howard Cooper (Walton Goggins) in a car driving down the Las Vegas Strip. (After the bombs fall, it becomes New Vegas.) In the window is a reflection of the Lucky 38’s large and iconic sign, first seen in 2010’s Fallout: New Vegas. In the show, Cooper survives the bombs falling and becomes the decaying bounty hunter known only as the Ghoul. But before that, he had a life pre-war that intersected with Vault-Tec and the company’s nefarious plans. And now it seems like he might have met Mr. House, a villain from New Vegas who was teased back in season one. Okay, Fallout season two, you have my attention.

The other teaser images released by Amazon include looks at Ella Purnell’s loveable Lucy and Aaron Morten’s Maximus. We also see Lucy’s dad, played by Kyle MacLachlan, who was revealed to be a pretty bad guy at the end of the show’s first season. He ran off in a power suit to New Vegas, and it seems we’ll be catching up with him later this year. Of course, this isn’t actually the first time we’ve seen some of this stuff, as set leaks earlier this year hinted at some pre-war flashbacks set in Las Vegas.

Last year, after premiering in April, the Fallout series received rave reviews, big ratings, and lots of award nominations, leading to a spike in people playing old Fallout games. Amazon quickly announced a second season, which wrapped up filming in May. The highly anticipated new season of Fallout arrives on Amazon Prime this December, and the show has already been picked up for a third season. Here’s a teaser for the show’s second season:
