FBI tracks down man suspected of plotting major crimes via chats on Roblox

by admin June 22, 2025

The FBI tracked a man to his home in Texas after they suspected him of making threats in Roblox to commit real-world crime.

In an affidavit submitted to a Texas court on May 16, 2025, FBI special agent Carletta Carter described how authorities received a report from an unnamed Roblox player claiming to have witnessed a “possible domestic terrorist incident being discussed on Roblox.”

In images and statements provided by the witness, a Roblox user known as Crazz3pain was believed to have made threats in-game to “attack a Christian concert or event.”

With billing information associated with Crazz3pain provided by Roblox, the FBI traced the account to an address in Texas, where they identified James W Burger.

RobloxRoblox hosts millions of user-created games.

After executing a search warrant on Burger’s home, the FBI discovered that a family member had installed a keylogger (records inputs on a keyboard) on their computer, with the latter subsequently providing the logs to authorities.

The logs – recording access to “RobloxPlayerBeta.exe” – were combined with Burger’s other devices, including an iPhone, to establish their involvement.

In a voluntary interview with the FBI at his home, Burger provided login information for the Crazz3pain account and admitted to making similar statements to those shown in screenshots provided by the witness. Burger said his end goal was to “[G]et the hell out of the US and…if I can’t…then, martyrdom or bust.”

In searching Burger’s iPhone, the FBI discovered a note explaining “how to prevent leaving any DNA or fingerprints behind,” searches for firearms and ammunition, and phrases, including “festivals happening near me,” and “what is the most effective knife type.”

Carter also described how Burger had taken screenshots of his user name, crazz3pain, being banned from Roblox. “According to Burger in the interview, being banned in Roblox was a familiar occurrence,” Carter noted.

The affidavit concluded by recommending that courts issue a warrant for Burger’s arrest.

GPU-disabled Ryzen 9000F support suspected in AGESA firmware update

by admin June 16, 2025

Rumors suggest that AMD might include Ryzen 9000 F-series support, or at the very least support for the Ryzen 7 9700F, in the upcoming AGESA microcode update 1.2.0.3e. Spotted by HXL on X, the firmware update allegedly sports “upcoming CPU compatibility,” according to an Asus BIOS update sporting the new microcode.

HXL provided additional context by linking to a ChipHell forum post where several posters believe AGESA 1.2.0.3e will support upcoming F-series Ryzen 9000 parts. Hugable Carrot in the aforementioned forum post wrote: “I checked here and found that AGESA 1203E does support a new model of 9 series without core graphics…”

Resident leaker on X, MegasizeGPU, also responded to HXL’s post, saying: “9700F, I guess”.

If the rumors are true, AMD will be launching either a lineup of F-series Ryzen 9000 series parts, or just the Ryzen 7 9700F, possibly sometime later this year. The F signifies a CPU model in AMD’s lineup that sports disabled integrated graphics, though Intel uses the same letter for the same purpose with its own CPUs as well. Selling CPUs with disabled graphics allows AMD to recycle bad chips that might have a perfectly working CPU, but defective integrated graphics, improving yields and reducing waste.

If AMD goes through with a Ryzen 7 9700F, it will undoubtedly be a graphicsless counterpart to the Ryzen 7 9700X, sporting eight Zen 5 CPU cores and 32MB of L3 cache. Ever since AMD started adding RDNA 2 integrated graphics to the SoC chiplet starting with Ryzen 7000, the company has been capable of making F-series versions of its high-performance desktop chiplet-based Ryzen CPUs in addition to its monolithic Ryzen APUs. Previously, F-series parts always signified a Ryzen APU based on a monolithic die, since those were the only Ryzen chips that had integrated graphics capabilities before the Ryzen 7000 series.

The Ryzen 7 9700F will represent the highest-end F-series part AMD has ever created (assuming it goes on sale). Up until now, AMD has had four F-series SKUs since the Ryzen 7000 series launch: two chiplet-style based, featuring the Ryzen 5 7400F and Ryzen 5 7500F, and two monolithic models, the Ryzen 5 8400F and Ryzen 7 8700F. The main difference between the monolithic and chiplet-style parts is the neutered 16MB of L3 cache on the monolithic APU models. By contrast, AMD’s Ryzen chiplet-style CPUs always have 32MB of L3 cache (not counting 3D V-Cache).

Potential new chips aside, AGESA microcode update 1.2.0.3e also rectifies a security vulnerability with Pluton TPM and AMD’s built-in fTPM that could allow attackers to disrupt the TPM’s functionality and/or gain access to sensitive data within the TPM.

Suspected French crypto kidnappings leader arrested in Morocco

by admin June 5, 2025

A man accused of being one of the masterminds behind a string of recent kidnappings in France to gain access to crypto has been arrested in Morocco.

At the request of French authorities, Morocco’s national police and intelligence service arrested Badiss Mohamed Amide Bajjou — a 24-year-old French-Moroccan man who was reportedly found in possession of multiple bladed weapons and several mobile phones.

France’s Minister of Justice, Gérald Darmanin, praised the arrest in a June 4 X post after French news outlet Le Parisien reported the arrest.

“I sincerely thank Morocco for this arrest, which demonstrates the excellent judicial cooperation between our two countries, particularly against organized crime,” Darmanin said.

Interpol issued a red notice for Bajjou’s arrest in 2023, alleging he was tied to other kidnappings and criminal activities.

Two crypto kidnappings and a failed attempt

The latest incident occurred in broad daylight on May 13, when multiple assailants allegedly attempted to kidnap the daughter and grandson of Pierre Noizat, CEO of French crypto platform Paymium.

A video of the alleged attack filmed by passersby shows Noizat’s daughter fending off masked men with the help of bystanders, forcing them back into a nearby waiting van, where they fled the scene.

On May 3, Paris police freed the father of a crypto entrepreneur who was held for several days in connection with a 7 million euro ($7.8 million) kidnapping plot.

A few months earlier, in January, the co-founder of crypto wallet provider Ledger, David Balland, was abducted from his home in central France during the early hours of Jan. 21 and was held captive until a police operation on the night of Jan. 22 secured his release.

French law enforcement is reportedly boosting security for crypto executives and their families to fight against the wave of crypto-related kidnappings.

The measures include priority access to police emergency lines, home security assessments and safety briefings from French law enforcement to ensure best practices are being followed.
