Hot Take: Ripple Ipo Would Likely Have 'Insanely Stupid Valuation'

Ripple IPO Would Likely Have ‘Insanely Stupid Valuation’

by admin June 9, 2025

The cryptocurrency world is currently abuzz with several initial public offering (IPO) speculations following the glorious success of Circle (CRCL) on its NYSE debut. Among major crypto firms, Ripple—the blockchain company behind XRP—is a leading name that is poised for going public, which would have an “insanely stupid valuation,” says a popular crypto advocate.

The timing of this speculated IPO aligns with hints from Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, who had previously indicated that the firm might reconsider going public by late 2025 or early 2026. However, Ripple has a long history of dismissing IPO plans due to its regulatory battles with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The claim posted on X by the anonymous user Pentoshi, who has over 866K followers, suggested that Ripple’s move could be inspired by Circle’s IPO, which saw a record-breaking first-day surge.

Pentoshi’s post, which has sparked a flurry of reactions on X, calls out that Ripple’s IPO is “coming” and likely to have an inflated valuation, connecting it to the $1.72 billion left on the table by Circle’s underwriters.

Feels only logical that Ripple will have an IPO of it’s own soon following the CRCL IPO

it’s coming, you know it, and I know it

and likely at some insanely stupid valuation $XRP

— 🐧 Pentoshi (@Pentosh1) June 8, 2025

The current valuation for Ripple stands at approximately $11.3 billion, according to market speculators. Though XRP’s market cap is currently sitting at $132.68 billion—as per CoinMarketCap data. But, given that XRP is treated separately, it could conflict with the actual valuation of Ripple Labs as a listed company.

For Circle, its valuation currently stands at $16.6 billion, but the fully diluted market cap for USDC stablecoin is over $60 billion. From this angle, predicting a potential valuation for Ripple is too uncertain.

While igniting Ripple IPO rumors, Pentoshi’s X post had received a remarkable reaction from the crypto community, with some noting it would have no such impacts on the XRP price, nor will it be influenced by XRP’s dominance in the crypto industry.

“Honestly, an IPO at this point feels more like a formality than a surprise,” said a user. “The valuation will probably melt faces, but the real test will be if $XRP finally decouples from the SEC drama.”

Currently, there has been no official announcement from Ripple Labs, but Circle’s notable “pop” on the first day is largely hinting at a trend that Ripple and other crypto companies might seek to emulate.

Joining this race, the cryptocurrency exchange Gemini has already started preparing to go public, with it submitting a draft registration statement to the SEC on 6 June.

‘100% Stupid’: MAGA World Is Cautiously Turning on Elon Musk

by admin June 7, 2025

Much of the right-wing media ecosystem appeared unsure how to react to the seeming public implosion of the relationship between President Donald Trump and Elon Musk on Thursday and into Friday morning. Outlets and influencers that typically react savagely to criticism of Trump played the spat more or less down the middle. Even much of the criticism of Musk was relatively genteel.

“He’s gotta let Trump be Trump,” former Fox News host Eric Bolling said on Steve Bannon’s broadcast network, Real America’s Voice. “You can be First Bro,” he said of Musk, “but you can’t be de facto president.”

Behind the scenes, they tell WIRED, Republican operatives could not help but be entertained at the torrent of messages flooding their group chats. They tended to take Trump’s side.

One Trumpworld consultant tells WIRED that the entire episode reminded them of a line in a recent Wall Street Journal report, about how Trump had privately described Musk as “50% genius, 50% boy.”

“After today,” the consultant says, “I think he’s just 100% stupid.” (Musk did not immediately reply to a request for comment.)

While Musk had been railing against the Republican budget reconciliation package formally known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act for several days on X, things turned ugly once Trump denounced the billionaire during an Oval Office appearance on Thursday with the German chancellor Friedrich Merz. “Elon and I had a great relationship,” Trump said. “I don’t know if we will anymore.” Musk subsequently agreed with an X user who called for the president’s impeachment.

Still, some presented the conflict as a positive thing, even while calling for it to end.

“I think the great thing about this is we all see it,” said Fox News host Greg Gutfeld. “Would you take a forceful president and a billionaire publicly feuding in public over an invalid president? … At least I know what is going on, and I can somewhat enjoy it, but I want them to stop. I’ve had it. I don’t want to see my parents fighting.”

By Friday morning, Fox & Friends cohost Brian Kilmeade was hoping for an end to the animosity, suggesting there could be a “big, beautiful truce.”

While many in the broader Trump coalition appeared hesitant to commit to one side or the other, this wasn’t true of everyone as Thursday afternoon’s bevy of rude posts bled into the night. After Musk posted “@realDonald Trump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public,” some MAGA loyalists were shocked. Alex Jones, though—the right-wing talk radio host and conspiracy theorist who called the Sandy Hook school shootings a hoax and was sued for defamation and found liable by default—wrote that Trump “needs to respond asap.”

One of the MAGA-verse’s most prominent accounts, Catturd, then went after Jones. “What a POS Alex Jones turned out to be – what a fucking fraud,” he tweeted. (Jones did not immediately reply to a request for comment sent to InfoWars.)

The Witcher 4 being about Ciri isn’t “woke” and all the fuss is “stupid” Geralt himself says, fittingly in a video where he offers advice about talking to girls

by admin May 20, 2025

Remember all that whinging from internet weirdos when Ciri was revealed as The Witcher 4’s protagonist late last year? Well, having come out in support of the move at the time, Geralt’s voice actor has now doubled down in even more emphatic fashion, suggesting that you’re a fool if you think it was a “woke” thing to do.

Doug Cockle did so in a video for Fall Damage which saw him react to some Witcher memes. Seriously, at one point he explains that he understands what the distracted boyfriend is, but doesn’t reckon it accurately reflects big Gerry’s love triangle with Yenny from the block and the ginger one.

Confronted with a post about people spamming “woke” when TW4’s trailer rocked up at last year’s Game Awards being “everything that is wrong with gaming culture”, the actor didn’t mince words.

“I wouldn’t say that’s everything that’s wrong with gaming culture, but I do think that’s just stupid,” he said, “It’s not woke. There’s nothing woke about it. It’s a cool character from The Witcher, and they’re gonna focus on that character, and that’s awesome.

“We can’t just have Geralt for every single game for The Witcher ad nauseam, out through eternity. Besides, we’ve seen the end of Geralt’s journey. Blood and Wine was supposed to wrap up Geralt’s journey. I celebrate Ciri. I celebrate her being the protagonist.” He then blew a raspberry at folks who still think it’s “woke”, whatever that word means aside from a thing I don’t like because it might be a tiny bit diverse.

Watch on YouTube

If you do still think it’s woke, the start of the video might help you. It sees Cockle advise us all to be a bit like Geralt and gather up the confidence enough to talk to girls – or whoever you might be interested in – because “they probably don’t bite”. Well, as the actor admitted, “unless you ask them to, probably”.

Later on in the video, Cockle also encounters one of those ‘I bet he’s thinking about other girls’ menes, and goes on to suggest that Geralt isn’t a distracted boyfriend, reasoning: “I think he’s pretty focused on the present. I think when Geralt’s with Yen, he’s thinking about Yen, and when he’s with Triss, he’s thinking about Triss.”

Yes, this is all as surreal to hear said in Geralt’s voice as you might think having just read it in text form.
