Borderlands 4 details first paid DLC plans as 2K continues to struggle with PC performance issues

by admin September 29, 2025

Gearbox revealed its first DLC vault hunter for Borderlands 4 during the Tokyo Game Show over the weekend. C4SH will be coming to the game in Q1 2026 alongside the game’s first story pack.

C4SH was revealed via a short cinematic teaser at the Borderlands 4 Tokyo Game Show panel, and is a former casino dealer robot who’ll use a degree of chance across all three of their skill trees. A full ability breakdown is set to take place in the near future, though there’s no date just yet.

The new character will arrive alongside a story pack called Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned. This pack will bring new main missions to complete, new gear, a new region on the map, a load of new cosmetics, and of course C4SH to tie it all together.

Here’s the C4SH teaser for Borderlands 4.Watch on YouTube

While the future of Borderlands 4 was shown off proudly in Japan, the game is still tackling technical hurdles in the present. While a recent patch has gone a ways in tackling performance issues, it has brought with it additional problems with Gearbox telling some on PC to clear their shader cache if things aren’t stable within 15-minutes of play time.

In addition, Borderlands 4’s Switch 2 version was delayed to an unspecified date for “additional development and polish time”. Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford advised those on X unhappy with Borderlands 4 performance issues to refund the game in the days following its release.

Still, those able to get the game running well are having a good time with the sci-fi shooter. Eurogamer’s Borderlands 4 review states: “Borderlands 4 brings a more sensible script and a true open world to its pseudo-cel-shaded gun-show. But these moderate improvements are undermined by frustrating exploration and combat that takes too long to properly shine.”

Tech Tanks in Latest Jobs Report As Most States Struggle to Keep Them

by admin September 7, 2025

Last week’s disappointing jobs report showed U.S. job growth stalled significantly in August, with just 22,000 new jobs added, and an unemployment rate that has risen to 4.3%.

It was the worst August report since the pandemic and the market treated it accordingly, welcoming it for the potential rate cuts it may herald but wary of the slower growth it may portend.

“The labor market is showing signs of cracking,” Heather Long, Navy Federal Credit Union senior economist, wrote in a note to investors on Thursday. “It’s not a red siren alarm yet, but the signs keep growing that businesses are starting to cut workers.”

Tech was not spared

Recent employment data confirms an increasingly uneven landscape within the technology sector, reflecting a shift away from the rapid job growth that characterized the early post-pandemic years.

According to a recent analysis by research think tank CompTIA, the sector has experienced a net decline of approximately 2,700 jobs over the past year, a 0.1% decrease.

This contrasts sharply with the period from late 2020 through 2022, when tech companies collectively added over 628,400 jobs across 29 months.

However, the last two years have seen almost 100,000 of those positions cut, indicating a recalibration amid the broader economic and geopolitical shifts.

“Unevenness in the data means acknowledging the employers and job seekers struggling with a multitude of challenges but also recognizing it is not all doom and gloom,” Tim Herbert, chief research officer, CompTIA, said. “Hiring intent data continues to show employers pursuing tech talent across a range of disciplines, from AI and data science to tech support and cloud engineering.”

The hottest spot for hiring was unsurprisingly in the AI skills job listings, which leapt 94% year-over-year according to CompTIA’s AI Hiring Intent Index.

For job postings themselves, 16% were for workers with eight or more years of experience; 21% for workers in the zero to three year range; and almost a third were for workers with four to seven years of experience.

Tech is booming in some surprising areas

Who is hiring and where is also an interesting standout.

Large tech companies showed signs of large hiring sprees: Software publishers like Microsoft and Oracle have collectively added 16,100 jobs in the past year, signaling ongoing strength in areas linked to cloud computing and enterprise software.

But other marquee-name companies like computer-systems designers such as IBM and Booz Allen Hamilton have shed 28,800 roles, reflecting a tilt toward automation and project-specific staffing.

“Only three states, Maine, Delaware and Idaho, saw tech job postings increase in August. In each instance, the increase was less than 100 new postings,” the report found.

“The story was similar at the metro level, with just four markets recording growth. San Jose saw an increase of 127 job postings, from 5,808 in July to 5,935 in August. Little Rock had the biggest percentage increase (+ 10%) in job postings, from 987 in July to 1,090 in August.”

Nancy Tengler, CEO of Laffer Tengler Investments, attributes this trend to increased corporate investment in technology infrastructure and automation rather than direct employment.

“Companies are investing in technology instead of human capital,” she notes in the report.

While some segments remain resilient, the disparate nature of job growth is clear.

The CompTIA analysis underscores the broader narrative of an industry undergoing structural transformation, shifting gears from hiring sprees to strategic investments in technology.

As firms prioritize capital over traditional labor, questions about the future of tech employment and how the workforce can adapt to these changes remain central for policymakers and industry leaders alike. For more details, consult the full report at Morningstar here.

The Flippening? Ethereum ETFs Attract $4 Billion This Month, While Bitcoin Products Struggle

Ethereum (ETH) exchange-traded funds (ETFs) are set to close August 2025 with total net inflows exceeding $4 billion, significantly outpacing their Bitcoin (BTC) counterparts, which recorded more than $600 million in outflows during the same period.

Ethereum ETFs Outshine Bitcoin ETFs

According to data from SoSoValue, spot Ethereum ETFs have attracted $4.04 billion in net inflows so far this month. In contrast, spot Bitcoin ETFs saw $628 million in net outflows in August.

Among Ethereum-focused funds, BlackRock’s ETHA ETF leads the market with $16.88 billion in net assets as of August 28. Grayscale’s ETHE follows with $4.80 billion, while Fidelity’s FETH holds $3.56 billion.

The total net assets tied in spot ETH ETFs currently stands slightly above $29.5 billion. This figure represents almost 5.5% of Ethereum’s total market cap.

On the Bitcoin side, BlackRock’s IBIT remains the leader with $83.8 billion in net assets, followed by Fidelity’s FBTC at $22.45 billion and Grayscale’s GBTC at $20.01 billion.

Although BTC ETFs still dominate in overall value, the latest data suggests the gap between Bitcoin and Ethereum investment products is narrowing. If the current momentum continues, August 2025 could mark the month when ETH ETFs outperformed BTC ETFs by their widest margin yet.

One of the major factors driving Ethereum ETF inflows is ETH’s growing appeal as a balance sheet asset. Corporate adoption of ETH has accelerated this year, bolstering confidence in its long-term role in institutional portfolios.

This year, several notable companies announced plans to add ETH to their balance sheets. For instance, SharpLink Gaming recently doubled down on its ETH bet, adding another 56,533 ETH to enhance its ETH reserves.

Similarly, ETHZilla – an Ethereum treasury company – recently increased its total ETH holdings to more than 102,000 ETH. Data from CoinGecko shows that, currently, BitMine is the leading publicly-listed company with the largest ETH reserves – holding over 1.7 million ETH.

Will ETH Surge Past $5,000?

Institutional sentiment toward ETH continues to strengthen. VanEck CEO Jan van Eck recently described ETH as “the Wall Street token,” highlighting its growing role in enabling stablecoin transfers across financial institutions.

Despite its recent rejection from close to $5,000, the overall demand for ETH remains vehemently strong. As a result, ETH reserves on exchange continue to dwindle at a rapid pace, which may lead to quick price appreciation for the digital asset in the near-term. At press time, ETH trades at $4,340, down 4% in the past 24 hours.
