Star Trucker’s anniversary update adds wheel and joystick support to the space lorry sim, plus speed cameras

by admin September 5, 2025

Star Trucker, Raw Fury’s answer to what Euro Truck Simulator might look like in the year 3000, is now a year old, and has celebrated that fact with an update that finally lets you whip out your wheel and pedals.

Ever since I gave it a go with a controller prior to letting my Game Pass subscription crumble into dust, this is a day I’ve yearned for. After all, what good are truck sims, be they Euro, American or something more Snowrunnery, if you’re not operating the controls of your great metal haulage beast by flicking flappy gearbox paddles, or sawing away at a circle clearly designed for something a bit sportier?

That’s what this anniversary update for the interstellar hauler delivers, with wheels like the Thrustmaster T128 and flight sticks like VKB’s Gladiator NXT EVO being early additions to the devs’ handy tracking sheet of tested peripherals. There’s also a guide and FAQ rundown from Raw Fury to help folks get their hardware up, running, and fully bound to all the inputs space trucking requires.

Gear recognised by the game should set itself up with default bindings automatically, but I usually find creating my own basic set of essential buttons not that time-consuming, as long as the game wants to acknowledge your wheel exists. Just remember to bind a pause button, and stick the handbrake somewhere your finger can easily hold it when you want to see if your rig can finish a delivery with a 10/10 skid.

As a counterweight to all the wheel and pedal lorry mischief I planned the minute I clocked this update, it also comes with new speed checks. Yep, cameras, fines, the works. These camera checkpoints along the trails of the galaxy will even show you what speed you’re doing as you pass them, though the notes don’t mention if you get shown a little smiley face for not blasting through a Jupiter school zone at 120mph. You can also disable these checks via the settings, if the threat of having to attend a speeding course with the crowd from the Mos Eisley cantina is just too much.

Aside from that, there are a couple of updates to trailers, and a couple of optional truck goodies to commemorate the game’s first birthday. The latter includes a hologrammatic image of a cake you can display in your cab. Just remember to eat plenty before your next long haul.

If you’ve not given Star Trucker a go, our Nic dubbed it “a game that’s much more about the ‘trucker’ of it all than the stars, but the trucker of it all really does shine” in his review, writing:

When you exit the airlock to patch up hull breaches, little white spanner icons mark the offending damage. The symbol that marks the airlock to return to your truck is a home. I noticed it early, and then I kept noticing it. The more I did, the more perfect it felt.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to oversteer that home into an asteroid belt.

Going to Space Could Make Your Cells Age Faster

by admin September 4, 2025

Spaceflight pushes the human body to its limits, exposing astronauts to microgravity, high levels of radiation, and extended periods of isolation. These stressors affect their health in various ways, many of which scientists are still working to fully understand. But if we are ever to boldly go where no human has gone before, we need to know all the risks before we take the leap.

And now new research published Thursday, September 4 in the journal Cell Stem Cell offers clues to another facet of health in space. Researchers discovered that spaceflight can accelerate the molecular aging of blood stem cells, specifically human hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs). These cells play a critical role in blood and immune system health, serving as the foundation for all the body’s different blood cells. The findings suggest that HSPCs lose some of their ability to re-regenerate and make healthy new cells after spaceflight.

“Understanding these changes not only informs how we protect astronauts during long-duration missions but also helps us model human aging and diseases like cancer here on Earth,” co-author Catriona Jamieson, director of the Sanford Stem Cell Institute and professor of medicine at UC San Diego School of Medicine, said in a press release.

Tracking cellular shifts in space

NASA has been hard at work at understanding what space does to the body for years. The landmark Twins Study involving Scott Kelly and (now Senator) Mark Kelly, for example, showed that spaceflight can lead to changes in gene expression, telomere length, and the gut microbiome. But few studies have investigated how the extremes of space affect processes at the level of HSPCs, according to Jamieson and her colleagues.

They sought to fill that gap by looking at how these cells change during and after a trip to space. Partnering with NASA and Space Tango, a company that facilitates research and manufacturing in microgravity, the researchers developed a “nanobioreactor” platform made up of miniature 3D biosensing systems. This novel tool cultures human stem cells in space and monitors them using AI-powered imaging. The team sent their system to the International Space Station via a SpaceX resupply mission.

Microscopic changes, big health impacts

After as few as 32 and as many as 45 days of spaceflight, HSPCs showed clear signs of aging. For one, the cells became more active than typical, quickly burning through their energy reserves and losing their ability to rest and recover. This hindered their ability to regenerate over time. Their ability to make new, healthy cells also declined, and they showed signs of DNA damage, shortened telomeres, and inflammation inside their mitochondria. They even activated hidden sections of their genome that usually remain dormant in what appeared to be a desperate bid to maintain stability.

These changes can impair immune function, in turn increasing the risk of disease, according to the researchers. Notably, only some of the damage reversed when the cells were placed in a non-space environment. This suggests it may be possible to recover aged HSPCs after spaceflight, but there may be limits.

As humans aim to travel farther from our home planet than ever before, understanding the health risks associated with long-term spaceflight is becoming increasingly important. Jamieson and her colleagues plan to dive deeper into the cellular impacts with additional ISS missions and astronaut-based studies. “This is essential knowledge as we enter a new era of commercial space travel and research in low earth orbit,” she said.

Space Marine 2 unveils a roadmap for its second year of updates including a new playable class, bosses, weapons, and more

by admin August 29, 2025

Space Marine 2 – Year 2 Trailer – YouTube

Watch On

Good news for fans of Space Marine 2’s multiplayer modes, which Saber Interactive has committed to supporting for a whole ‘nother year. As the developer announced, patch 10, on the first anniversary of Space Marine 2’s release, will be the beginning of a second year of updates and additions.

Patch 10 is apparently the “biggest patch to date.” Due on September 4, it includes a new boss (the Chaos Spawn, in three variants), a new PvP arena and mode (Helbrute Onslaught, in which you can play as a big robotic Helbrute), three new weapons, a new PvE map and mode, and the Chaos Armour cosmetics pack (the U in Armour is part of the name because Warhammer is quintessentially British).

There’s another patch scheduled to be squeezed in before the end of the year, but the update kicking off 2026 looks like a more notable one since it includes the techmarine, a new playable class who comes armed with an Omnissiah axe. It’ll be interesting to see how an engineer fits in with the existing six classes, especially if they’re a melee-focused addition. In 40K, techmarines often serve as drivers and pilots, but also mix it up in hand-to-hand with their gigantic axes and a proliferation of mechanical arms that would make Doctor Octopus jealous. I suspect Space Marine 2 will probably embrace the latter depiction.

As well as all these free updates, Space Marine 2 is getting a second season pass of champion and cosmetic packs, so if you really want to cover yourself in the rad shark logo of the Carcharadon marines you’ll be able to do that when patch 12 comes out. There’s also a new chapter coming in patch 13: the Iron Hands. As the space marine chapter closest to the tech-priests, they’ll make a good match for techmarines.

While Space Marine 3 is currently in development, Saber Interactive is committed to continuing support for Space Marine 2. Which is nice for all the people who have stuck with its multiplayer modes. As someone who loved the original for its singleplayer campaign and found the sequel just kind of OK in that department, it’s a reminder that maybe I shouldn’t get my hopes up too high. At least Dawn of War 4 is doubling down on singleplayer to keep me and the rest of the cranky loners appeased.

Space Marine 2’s new Techmarine class, Helbrute mode and other update plans detailed in Year 2 video

by admin August 29, 2025

In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only more bloody downloadable content for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. Developers Saber Interactive are supposed to be working on Space Marine 3, but you wouldn’t know that from all the Stuff they’ve jammed into the previous game’s year 2 content schedule. There’s a major Anniversary patch due on 4th September, just in time for Silksong. Five more patches are coming over 2025 and 2026, plus nine DLC packs via season pass. The manufactorums are overflowing! Here’s a video to lay it all out.

Watch on YouTube

The standout upcoming option is probably the new playable Techmarine class, who don’t get any screentime here. What is a Techmarine? A Space Marine with a lot of spanners where parts of their anatomy should be. They’re good at fixing stuff, though one suspects that, like most Sparse Maureens in Spice Margerine 2, they’ll spend the bulk of their time murdering things.

Techmarines aside, the free updates will add new enemies, bosses, weapons, progression mechanics, PvE stratagems, Eternal War arenas, and operations. Also, the chance to play a Chaos Helbrute, which looks like a berserking tractor with a comically small humanoid head. It’s like Bruce Banner got 90% of the way through Hulking out and ran out of rage. Still, let’s see if you’re still laughing when it stands on your toes in the forthcoming Helbrute Onslaught PvP mode.

As for those paid DLCs, there will be the usual shower of cosmetics. The new battle pass kicks off with the Black Templars Champion Pack, which includes a Champion skin for the Bulkwark class and a Power Sword skin. Then there’s the Imperial Fists Cosmetic Pack, which comprises 40 new cosmetics. Future packs will include cosmetics for the Raptors, Iron Hands and Carcharodons. I’m pretty sure they made some of those Space Marine chapters up. Iron Hands, lol, as if.

The only thing missing from Space Marine 2’s roadmap, to my mind, is a mutual crossover with the Helldivers 2 universe – a prospect once dangled by Arrowhead’s CEO, many moons ago. Let us make the commodified fascists fight! Let us see whose space-bigotry is burlier! Arrowhead have already partnered with the goose-stepping Helghast from Killzone. Add Warhammer 40,000’s Space Marines to the mix and you’re basically playing an unofficial PlanetSide 3. Seriously, there’s like, at least six battle passes worth of content here.

Bethesda teases Starfield space travel update after datamined leak

by admin August 29, 2025

Bethesda has teased an upcoming update for Starfield meant to improve space travel, following a recent bit of data mining from the community that discovered hints of an overhauled “cruise mode”.

Now, a hasty patch was uploaded to remove hints of the cruise mode from the files, but since then Bethesda have come forward with its hands up and admitted that yes, cruise mode is real and is on the way somewhat soon.

This came out via a recent developer spotlight on Tim Lamb, a senior producer at Bethesda. In this video Lamb states: “We have some exciting things in development, including free updates and player-requested features, as well as a new DLC story.”

Starfield is packed full of Easter Eggs, if you didn’t know.Watch on YouTube

Lamb continued: “I can’t share all the details yet, but part of the team is focusing on space gameplay to make the journeys more rewarding. We’re also adding new game systems and some smaller surprises. Plus, there’s some exciting content coming from our Verified Creators.”

This little tease also comes in the wake of a Steam post promising exciting updates coming to Starfield later this year. With the game’s absence from Gamescom this year this has led to some confusion, but it looks like something big is on the horizon for Bethesda’s Sci-Fi RPG.

This is a news-in-brief story. This is part of our vision to bring you all the big news as part of a daily live report.

Jump Space opens the Early Access Airlock on September 19th

by admin August 28, 2025

gamescom gave us our first deep look at Jump Space (formerly Jump Ship), and during the Future Games Show we saw our first deep dive on gameplay, as well as an awesome announcement – it’ll be heading our way to Early Access on September 19th for Steam and Xbox Series X|S. If you’re unfamiliar with the game, here’s a quick snippet:

Manage Your Jump Ship

Upgrade and customise your ship as you face off against the challenges of space exploration, and scavenge resources to ensure your survival. Reinforce your defences, adjust your energy output for speed or bolster your ship’s attack capabilities – the choice is yours.

Immerse Yourself in Space

Experience fluid gameplay as you switch from steering your ship out of an asteroid field to jetpacking towards an enemy vessel to sabotage its core. Seamlessly transition between exploration, combat and traversal.

Improvise and Adapt; Together

Go on missions with your friends and take on roles, from piloting to engineering and field exploration. Work together to overcome enemy attacks, extinguish fires on the command deck or adjust your ship’s power grid on the fly. There are no set classes in Jump Space, improvise and decide how you want to engage.

The team also had a message for their would-be space travelers about the upcoming launch:

We are still thrilled that so many of you joined for our Next Fest demo!

Since then, we’ve been hard at work adding as many additional features and further polish to the Early Access launch as possible. You can expect improvements to moment to moment gameplay, persistent progression, new enemies, new weapons, a new player ship, public server browser, text chat – just to name a few.

Between now and September 19th, we will be posting a more detailed roadmap on what made it into our launch build, and what features will come after – both for this year and beyond.

The price will be revealed at the same time as the roadmap, so don’t worry about us forgetting.

You will be pleasantly surprised!

I’m excited for this one, and the Keepsake Crew seems to be combining the best parts of several of my favorite games and genres into one awesome multiplayer experience. The gameplay systems will undoubtedly evolve over Early Access, but what’s here and what I saw in the demo are already a blast of a gameplay loop. Best of all, we won’t have to wait very long to jump back in.

Stay tuned for all of the news for Jump Space and all the other awesome games coming this year and beyond right here at GamingTrend.com!

Avengers: Doomsday star says cast has “smaller roles” to make space for new characters

by admin August 27, 2025

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever star Tenoch Huerta has been speaking about his participation in Avengers: Doomsday, saying the dynamic is different as the film endeavours to make room for “twentysomething characters.”

Tenoch Huerta made his MCU debut as Namor in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The character came into conflict with Shuri, before finding common ground at the end of the movie, and making a truce.

But with no more Black Panther in the pipeline at present, it looked like that might be the last we saw of the Talokan king.

Article continues after ad

Then in March 2025, Marvel did a five-hour livestream in which cast members of Avengers: Doomsday were revealed via director’s chairs, and Huerta was one of the 26. Though he only found that out hours beforehand…

Namor actor told about Avengers: Doomsday role on same day

Speaking on late-night show La Resolana Con El Capi, and as reported by Deadline, Huerta said: “We were waiting on the green light and my agents in the U.S. were not sure about the news.

“They practically told us around 12 at night, and at 5:30 in the morning, the livestream started, and they told us, ‘Hey, the news is about to drop.’ It was surprising and it was cool.”

He added that the shoot has contrasted with his work on the Black Panther sequel, as “the dynamic has been different.”

Huerta explains: “There are twentysomething characters involved in the story, which means we are each going to have smaller roles because there needs to be space for all the characters and all the universes.

“This makes it a much more simpler role, in terms of time and energy of making a film like this.”

Avengers: Doomsday will be released on December 18, 2026, and you can head here for a twist theory concerning the movie, or here for a potentially major spoiler concerning Captain America. Alternatively, check out our ranking of the MCU movies.

NASA’s Largest Satellite Antenna Ever Has Just Unfurled in Space

by admin August 27, 2025

A Flower-like satellite has “bloomed” in outer space, unfolding to reveal the largest radar antenna reflector ever put into orbit. The NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR), a joint project between the US space agency and the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), launched on July 30 from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in southeastern India, before unfurling to its full size 17 days later.

The spacecraft is now ready to make full-scale observations of the Earth, and will use radar to track changes on our planet’s surface in unprecedented resolution. It can record the movement of ice sheets and glaciers, crustal deformation caused by earthquakes and landslides, and changes in forest and wetland ecosystems, down to an accuracy of a few centimeters for certain types of terrain. The aim is for NISAR data to help with decision-making in a wide range of fields, including disaster responses, infrastructure, agricultural policy, and food security.

“The successful deployment of NISAR’s reflector marks a significant milestone in the capabilities of the satellite,” Karen St. Germain, director of the Earth Science Division at NASA Headquarters, said in a statement.

A Satellite With Two Eyes

NISAR’s antenna reflector—the device it uses to transmit and receive radar signals—measures 39 feet across, making it the largest such device ever put into orbit by NASA. Made from gold-plated wire mesh, the reflector was attached to the satellite like a folded umbrella. During the four days following the launch, the satellite slowly extended its boom, before the frame of the antenna, which had been held under tension, was released on August 15, allowing the reflector to “bloom” to its full size.

NISAR is the first satellite to carry two types of synthetic aperture radar, or SAR: L-band and S-band. The former penetrates the forest canopy and clouds to detect crustal deformation and ice sheet movement. S-band is sensitive to moisture in snow cover and changes in vegetation. By combining the two, it is possible to record a multilayered record of diverse phenomena ranging from earthquakes and volcanic activity to deforestation. The giant reflector serves as the “eye” that is essential to both systems, focusing the transmitted radar when it is sent down to Earth and receiving and focusing these signals when they bounce back up to the satellite.

“Synthetic aperture radar, in principle, works like the lens of a camera, which focuses light to make a sharp image. The size of the lens, called the aperture, determines the sharpness of the image,” Paul Rosen, NISAR’s project scientist at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, said in a statement. “Using special interferometric techniques that compare images over time, NISAR enables researchers and data users to create 3D movies of changes happening on Earth’s surface.”

NASA and ISRO engineers working on the deployment of the antenna. The unfurling of the reflector took about 37 minutes.

Technology Decades in the Making

NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory has been developing radars for use on satellites since the 1970s, launching the world’s first ocean observation satellite, Seasat, in 1978, and revealing the topography of Venus’s cloud-covered surface with the planetary probe Magellan in the 1990s.

A culmination of knowledge gained over the decades, NISAR is a product of both US and Indian technology: NASA provided the L-band SAR and data communications equipment, while India’s ISRO was responsible for the S-band SAR and the satellite bus—the infrastructure that handles power, communications, and the satellite’s orientation. ISRO’s ground station was responsible for the launch and initial operations, and experts from both countries worked together to monitor the deployment operations.

This viral coin could outperform top coins in the crypto space

by admin August 25, 2025

Disclosure: This article does not represent investment advice. The content and materials featured on this page are for educational purposes only.

XRP and DOGE eye strong rallies, but analysts say Little Pepe could deliver a 77x breakout in a few months.

Summary

  • XRP and DOGE rally, but LILPEPE presale at $0.002 teases 77x upside in a few months.
  • LILPEPE has raised $20.5m, building a Layer-2 memecoin chain with real utility.
  • Analysts eye it as Q3’s breakout, with 7,500% gains forecast post-launch.

Ripple (XRP) and Dogecoin (DOGE) are both poised to enjoy impressive rallies exceeding investor expectations. While XRP is regaining institutional investor confidence after getting legal positive news, DOGE is still enjoying the support of retail investors, celebrities, and the general public.

But amid all the noise, a newcomer is emerging with the potential to outperform them both — Little Pepe (LILPEPE), a memecoin project combining viral appeal with real blockchain utility. Analysts tracking early-stage opportunities are eyeing an extraordinary 77x upside for LILPEPE over the next 90 days.

Ripple’s push toward a new high

Ripple’s year has been defined by one thing: certainty. After years of battling the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, XRP is free from the cloud of regulatory doubt that limited its growth.

This freedom has allowed Ripple to focus aggressively on expanding its cross border payments ecosystem, adding new partnerships with global banks and fintech firms. XRP’s price has been climbing steadily, holding above key support levels and showing signs of bullish continuation.

Many market watchers believe that if institutional adoption keeps accelerating, Ripple could approach $5 before the end of the year. While this growth would be impressive, its percentage upside is unlikely to match that of high-risk, high-reward early-stage projects.

Dogecoin’s momentum in the memecoin arena

Dogecoin remains the most recognizable memecoin in the market, with a loyal community and a steady flow of high profile mentions keeping it in the spotlight.

It has proven resilient through multiple market cycles, holding a unique position as both a joke and a serious investment for some traders. With the current bullish sentiment in crypto, DOGE is positioned to test higher resistance levels.

Analysts predict that if BTC continues pushing toward its next all time high, Dogecoin could revisit, or even surpass,  its previous peaks. Still, with its massive market cap, it’s harder for DOGE to deliver the kind of exponential growth newer, smaller tokens can achieve in a short period.

Little Pepe’s 77x opportunity

While XRP and DOGE focus on steady growth, Little Pepe is making waves with a presale that has already surpassed expectations. Now in stage 11, priced at $0.002 per token, LILPEPE has raised over $20.5 million and sold more than 13.3 billion tokens.

This funding gives the project a strong war chest to deliver on its ambitious roadmap. Unlike most memecoins that rely solely on hype, Little Pepe is building its own Ethereum Layer 2 network dedicated exclusively to memecoins.

This chain will feature fast, low cost transactions, a dedicated memecoin launchpad, and anti-sniper bot protections to make token launches fairer for everyday investors. The combination of viral branding and real blockchain utility is rare in the memecoin space, and it’s fueling speculation that LILPEPE could explode when it lists on major exchanges.

At its current presale price, even a moderate post-launch rally could generate large returns. Still, some projections see the token climbing over 7,500%, and potentially delivering 77x gains, within three months of trading.

Why retail investors can’t stop talking about it

Beyond its technical roadmap, LILPEPE has become one of the most discussed tokens on social media and crypto forums. The buzz has been amplified by the ongoing $777,000 giveaway, in which 10 winners will receive $77,000 worth of tokens each.

For retail investors, this visibility matters. In crypto, hype often drives liquidity, and liquidity can fuel price surges. The fact that LILPEPE is trending before even launching on exchanges suggests it could debut with significant momentum.

Conclusion

Ripple, Dogecoin, and Little Pepe tokens will mark one of the most promising chapters of the crypto bull run in the third quarter. Ripple is riding on the wave of institutional adoption and progress in legal proceedings. Dogecoin not only stays on the lips of people but on the market, and now LILPEPE is stepping onto the scene with the potential to have one of the most explosive debuts since 2021.

For investors seeking safer, established plays, XRP and DOGE remain strong candidates. But for those willing to take on higher risk in pursuit of higher rewards, LILPEPE stands out as the token with the potential to turn a small stake into life changing gains in a matter of months. With its mix of memecoin energy, technical innovation, and early stage pricing, Little Pepe could be the breakout story of Q3, and perhaps of the entire 2025 bull cycle.
