‘South Park’ Season 27: When Does the Next Episode Come Out?

by admin September 4, 2025

Comedy Central/Video screenshot by CNET

If you’ve been around for the start of South Park season 27, you know its rollout has been hectic. The hit animated show had its season 27 premiere date pushed by two weeks and then announced its second installment would drop two weeks after the first. We’re now several weeks in and it’s easier to predict when new South Park episodes will debut.

According to the show’s website, South Park will continue to release episodes every other week at least through episode 5. Episode 4, “Wok is Dead,” airs on Comedy Central later today. The forthcoming installment has a trailer and a description: “Butters experiences the reality of tariffs when he has to buy a Labubu doll for his girlfriend’s birthday.”

While we don’t have additional details on future South Park episodes, another aspect of the show is more definitive: its new streaming home. With the signing of a deal in July, 50 new South Park episodes and the show’s back catalog will be on Comedy Central and Paramount Plus. Forthcoming episodes of season 27 will stream on Paramount Plus in the US the day after airing on Comedy Central. The show is no longer available on HBO Max as of early August.

If you want to watch the 27th season of the show co-created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, here’s what to know.

Don’t miss any of our unbiased tech content and lab-based reviews. Add us as a preferred Google source on Chrome.

South Park season 27, episode 4 release date and streaming details

Episode 4 will air on Comedy Central on Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 10 p.m. ET, 10 p.m. PT or 9 p.m. CT and stream on Paramount Plus the next day (the first three episodes are already on the streaming service). Episode 5 will air on Comedy Central on Wednesday, Sept. 17.

Season 27 episodes will hit Paramount Plus in the US the day after they air on Comedy Central. If you don’t want to wait that long to watch without cable, you might want to consider a live TV streaming service like Philo, Sling or YouTube TV. More on that below.

James Martin/CNET

Paramount Plus has two plans: Paramount Plus Essential and Paramount Plus Premium, which used to be called Paramount Plus with Showtime. Essential costs $8 per month and includes ads and a sampling of Showtime programming. Premium removes ads and unlocks more Showtime titles, among other perks.

Philo

Philo is a live TV streaming service that provides more than 70 channels, including Comedy Central. A subscription costs $28 per month and also includes access to AMC Plus content. Rivals like YouTube TV come with more channels but Philo could be a good fit for you if you like its smaller selection for a lower price.

Sarah Tew/CNET

Sling is between Philo and YouTube TV in price. Sling’s Orange plan costs $46 a month and its Blue plan costs between $46 and $51, depending on where you live. Sling Blue and Orange include Comedy Central and you can compare the rest of their channel lineups here.

Marvel Rivals Season Four Adds Daredevil and Angela To The Roster, Launches Next Week

by admin September 3, 2025

Season four of Marvel Rivals is officially known as The Heart of the Dragon, and it’s introducing one character fans of the (super) hero shooter have been hoping for: Daredevil. In the cinematic reveal trailer, he faces off against Angela, the long lost sister of Thor and the other character joining the roster. You can check it out for yourself below.

The trailer shows the two characters seemingly acting as representatives of Heaven and Hell. This is a particularly interesting take on Daredevil, as his stories, especially in the recent live-action series, traditionally focus on street-level crime with minimal super powers. In this trailer, he also seems to unleash energized punches and a powerful devil form. It’s hard to tell what his canonical abilities are, versus what are stylized visuals for the animation, but Marvel Rivals sometimes provides original takes on characters and their origin stories, so it could go either way.

“The Timestream Entanglement has drawn the Seven Capitals together, forming the Heart of Heaven. After Knull’s fall, Hela is imprisoned in the An’Hay-Zhidi, where Dizang—Devil of the Eighth City—dares her to atone for her sins,” the video description reads. “But Angela will not forgive her betrayal. She arrives in the Heart of Heaven demanding Hela be handed over, yet its guardian refuses to surrender someone under his protection. Justice will be served and a debt will be paid.”

In a following, more detailed video, the developers at Netease confirm that Angela would be a vanguard, using her ichor to form weapons and a shield. She’ll also get a team-up with Thor, who will be able to throw a thunder spear which he can jump to, dealing damage upon landing. Other team ups are adjusting as well: Magik and Black Panther are losing theirs, but Magik is getting a tether ability as a part of the team up between Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange, while Black Panther is joining the team up between Namor and Hulk.

Season four will also bring other, more minor new features. A new arcade hub will hold new and returning modes like big brain blast, clone rumble, conquest, conquest (annihilation), and doom match, along with free fight, which removes limits on duplicate heroes. You’ll also be able to mark your preferred heroes into a favorites tab, other players can see custom ultimate effects, and, hilariously, they’re adding a slow walk setting to the PC version of the game because they “heard how much you like slow walking for superhero aura farming.”

Lastly, they announced that rank placement matches are coming to the game eventually, but won’t be ready in time for season four. Players have expressed frustration that each season resets them so far down the competitive ladder that it’s frustrating to have to fight through lower ranks with less skilled players to get back to their standard challenge, and placement matches are a possible solution to that.

Angela and the rest of Marvel Rivals season four come to the game for free a week from Friday, on September 12.

Wednesday Season 3 will deliver exactly what the Addams Family need

by admin September 3, 2025

Wednesday Season 2 climaxed in open-ended fashion, and it looks like Season 3 will do something very different with the Addams Family.

Wednesday Season 2 was split in half by Netflix, and while Part 1 was something of a disappointment, Part 2 is a vast improvement.

Admittedly, the Lady Gaga appearance was little more than a cameo, but Steve Buscemi’s Principal Dort got a great arc, while the central mystery managed to tie together Slurp the zombie, missing Willow Hill patient 1938, and the return of Tyler Galpin. Even Thing got his own mini-story.

Season 3 has already been announced, and the ending of Season 2 sets that story up in intriguing fashion. Warning: spoilers ahead!

Wednesday Season 3 will leave Nevermore

Netflix

Seasons 1 and 2 of Wednesday have played a little like the Harry Potter books/movies, with each focusing on strange stories unfolding over the course of a school year.

Wednesday has left the confines of the Nevermore Academy for local events, trips to Jericho, and a recent camping trip that harked back to Addams Family Values. But for the most part, key action happens within the academy walls.

That’s going to change in Season 3, however, thanks to Enid’s plight at the end of Season 2. During Part 2, Enid realizes she’s an Alpha, which means that should she turn into a werewolf during full moon, the character will stay that way.

Enid did everything in her power to avoid that fate, but when Wednesday is buried alive, she springs into action, and turns in the moonlight to speedily dig her up. Enid manages to save Wednesday’s life, but potentially condemns herself to a life in fur.

At the end of the final episode, Agnes reveals that wolf Enid has been caught on a wildlife camera, heading north just five miles from the Canadian border, and we get a brief glimpse of the creature sheltering from the rain in a forest.

Netflix

Wednesday won’t leave her in such a state, so she teams up with Uncle Fester, and they speed in Enid’s direction, meaning Season 3 will break free from Nevermore, and potentially kick off in a foreign land.

The other two sub-plots launched at the end of Season 2 involve Tyler joining a support group for Hydes, and Hester Frump keeping Aunt Ophelia in her basement, both of which should also progress outside of the Nevermore confines.

As for what else to expect, co-creator and co-showrunner Alfred Gough says: “Our goal for Season 3 is the same as it is for every season: to make it the best season of Wednesday we possibly can. We want to continue digging deeper into our characters while expanding the world of Nevermore and Wednesday.”

While his co-collaborator Miles Millar adds: “We will be seeing more Addams Family members and learning more family secrets in Season 3!”

Wednesday Season 3 has been confirmed, though there’s no word yet on when it will happen. Until then, check out our pick of new TV shows streaming this month, while these are the best TV shows of 2025 so far.

Wedneaday Season 2 Part 2 review: Netflix hit is creepy, kooky, but only halfway spooky

by admin September 3, 2025

Wednesday Season 2 Part 2 has landed on Netflix, and though it still doesn’t reach the gothic heights of the Addams Family’s glory years, it’s a marked improvement on Part 1. Why? It remembers to have fun.

Christina Ricci immortalized Wednesday Addams in the ‘90s, with her razor-sharp wit and disdain for normalcy showing all the outcasts of the world that it’s okay to be weird. A Gen-Z revival for Netflix shouldn’t have worked, and yet Season 1 defied our expectations, a massive reason being Jenna Ortega nabbing (and nailing) the title role.

Article continues after ad

Despite a three-year gap, Season 2 Part 1 failed to capture the macabre magic of its predecessor. As we said in our two-star review, the “overstuffed narrative and meandering subplots” left it feeling, at times, boring.

Thankfully, Part 2 is much better. While it doesn’t fix everything, Episodes 5-8 are injected with new energy, tighter character arcs, and a few moments that feel destined to go viral. Oh, and Lady Gaga finally makes her debut.

What is Wednesday Season 2 Part 2 about?

Following the cliffhanger ending of Episode 4, Wednesday Season 2 Part 2 picks up where we left off. Don’t fret – of course she isn’t dead (that isn’t a spoiler). However, she has picked up a new spirit guide in the form of Principal Weems, played to perfection by Gwendoline Christie.

Article continues after ad

The Willow Hall case might be solved, but Wednesday still has to find a way to stop Tyler (Hunter Doohan) and save her bestie Enid (Emma Myers). And the threat may not be solely on Enid: as is revealed in the trailer, the entire Addams Family is at risk.

This is far from the only mystery at hand. What happens now Tyler doesn’t have a master? Who is the mysterious Willow Hall patient Wednesday saved? What is Principal Dort (Steve Buscemi) really up to? And why, oh why, does Isadora Capri’s American accent sound like that? (Just kidding on the last one, Billie Piper still does a great job).

Netflix

All of these questions and more are answered throughout the course of Part 2. Enid also continues her journey of self-discovery, Bianca gets drawn deeper into Nevermore’s power struggles, and even Thing takes on a surprisingly pivotal role. Add in Grandmama Hester Frump, cult entanglements, and a zombie subplot, and you’ve a lot going on in just four episodes.

On paper, it sounds thrilling, but in practice, it’s often overstuffed. Particularly in Episode 5, where it feels like the writers are trying to explain their way out of the labyrinth they built in Part 1. The biggest issue is pacing, with the Netflix show meandering from one topic to the next in a bid to fit it all in.

Article continues after ad

Instead of letting the Addams’ oddities breathe, the dialogue often feels like a Wiki page being read aloud. You can’t look away for fear of missing a vital line of lore, and yet it’s hard to care when the stakes are constantly diluted by subplots.

Article continues after ad

Episode 6 is Wednesday at its best

Netflix

Still, buried amongst the clutter are moments that remind you why this show became a hit in the first place, and it’s well worth sticking with, especially Episode 6 (no spoilers, but it’s the most fun the show has ever had).

Article continues after ad

Enid’s arc in general is stronger here, salvaging what looked like a baffling detour in Part 1 and turning it into a moment of growth. Ortega and Myers are still the beating (and snarling) heart of Wednesday, and Episode 6 proves just how good the show can be when it leans into their chemistry.

Elsewhere, Evie Templeton shines as Agnes, whose storyline feels both earned and engaging, and there’s a brief but welcome turn from Lady Gaga that reminds you the show can still pull off a celebrity cameo without it feeling like stunt casting.

Article continues after ad

The wider ensemble – Luis Guzmán, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Fred Armisen, Joanna Lumley, Piper, Buscemi, and more – are all back, and though there are almost too many to keep track of, they all give fantastic performances.

Season 2 is another Tim Burton feast for the eyes

Netflix

Visually, Wednesday remains untouchable. Every set piece has director Tim Burton’s fingerprints all over it, from baroque interiors to mist-choked graveyards, and the costume department goes ham when the cast aren’t in their Nevermore uniforms, decking them in renaissance ballgowns during one notable event.

Article continues after ad

And yes, there’s another dance scene destined to go viral on TikTok – Netflix clearly knows what its audience wants. The same goes for the horror elements, which are ramped up in Part 2 with some genuinely spooky (and gruesome) scenes.

The finale also deserves credit: it ties up loose ends, delivers some satisfying pay-off, and even plants a genuinely intriguing twist. It’s a neat hook for Season 3, even if the road to get there was shaky.

Wednesday Season 2 Part 2 score: 3/5

Wednesday isn’t dead on arrival anymore, but it’s not quite alive either. Part 2 is an improvement over Part 1 – funnier, more confident, and great to look at. But it’s still a muddle of competing tones and overloaded storylines.

Article continues after ad

Thankfully, Ortega and Myers raise the experience, and the finale at least wraps the many subplots up in a satisfying way. Here’s hoping Season 3 can resurrect the show for good (preferably without the three year wait).

2025 NFL season sim: Predictions, surprises, playoff teams

If you don’t want spoilers for the 2025 NFL season, look away.

I typically write about the NFL in terms of probabilities — the chance the Eagles repeat as Super Bowl champions, the probability the Bengals get back to the playoffs, the odds the Browns are actually the best team in football (OK, maybe not that one).

But every so often, we need to inject certainty into a forecast. After all, the upcoming NFL season will play out only one way. So why not simulate the season one time and see what happens?

That’s what we’re doing here. We’re detailing the story of a single simulation from ESPN’s Football Power Index, which normally uses 10,000 simulations to build its projections. To be clear, this is not my prediction or ESPN Analytics’ prediction of how this season will unfold. (Vikings fans still in my mentions about Minnesota’s 4-13 record in last year’s simulation — please read that sentence.) This is simply simulation No. 4,091 — what definitely, absolutely, certainly could happen in 2025. Let’s play it out.

See FPI’s full projections for the 2025 season

Both Super Bowl LIX teams miss playoffs

Eleven months after the Chiefs and Eagles squared off in Super Bowl LIX, both teams cleaned out their lockers following Week 18. Neither managed to make it back to the playoffs, easily the shocker of the 2025 campaign in this simulation.

The Eagles were actually done before the final week. Thought to be infallible heading into the season, the Eagles were 5-4 after Week 10 — a game behind the Cowboys but still seemingly in control of their postseason destiny. But that turned into a 6-8 record, leaving Philadelphia in pure panic mode. In the end, the Eagles couldn’t make up the gap, falling short in the NFC East and wild-card battle.

The Chiefs’ collapse was much more startling. Kansas City controlled its destiny in the AFC West after beating the Broncos on Christmas Day to improve to 9-7. It needed to only to beat the Raiders to secure its 11th straight playoff spot. But Patrick Mahomes’ clutch gene was nowhere to be found as the Chiefs fell 28-19, allowing the Broncos — who won their Week 18 game — to win the division on a tiebreaker. No wild-card bid for the Chiefs either.

The two defending conference champions weren’t the only surprising teams to miss the playoffs in 2025. The Commanders, 49ers and Packers all missed the postseason, too.

Aaron Rodgers experiment fails, Mike Tomlin has first losing record

The Steelers’ bid for the aging superstar quarterback was always a long shot upside play. Ultimately, the poor play that started in Green Bay in 2022 and continued in New York in 2024 couldn’t be reversed.

Things started OK. Rodgers got his revenge on the Jets in Week 1, and a 3-2 start prompted optimism. But a five-game losing streak hit, with losses to the Bengals, Packers, Colts, Chargers and Bengals again. At that point, it was clear that the Steelers’ season — and Rodgers’ career — was over.

Broncos steal AFC West crown

The AFC West wasn’t so tough after all. Despite optimism from all four teams entering the season, no one separated from the pack or put up a gaudy record. But someone had to prevail.

Denver became the first team in a decade to dethrone the Chiefs from their AFC West crown. Tied with the Chargers at 8-8 entering Week 18, the Broncos secured the division title with an 18-15 win over Justin Herbert, Jim Harbaugh and the Chargers.

The win was indicative of the Broncos’ strengths, as the offense provided just enough help for a smothering defense. Denver finished the season ranked first in defensive EPA per play.

Cowboys win surprise NFC East title

Like in the AFC West, it wasn’t that another team took the division crown from the Eagles as much as Philadelphia being sucked into the division’s overall mediocrity. And when the Eagles stumbled, Dallas took advantage.

Maybe we shouldn’t be that surprised that the Cowboys made the playoffs (even if winning the division seemed unlikely). Though the preseason chatter was all about Micah Parsons and his eventual trade, the remaining foundation of this team still included Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens. Considering Prescott finished second in QBR in 2023, Dallas was always capable of having a quality offense, and it was good enough in this case to make up for missing Parsons. Young pass rushers Donovan Ezeiruaku and Sam Williams stepping up helped, too.

In the end, the Cowboys won the division with a 9-8 record, though they fizzled again in the postseason with a wild-card loss.

Colts win AFC South; Titans earn wild card

Even in a season when the Chiefs and Eagles missed the playoffs, what happened in the AFC South turned heads. Somehow, Colts coach Shane Steichen unlocked the 2022 version of Daniel Jones, leaning on the legs of the former Giants quarterback while Lou Anarumo and the new-look secondary turned around the defense. The result was a 10-7 record and playoff berth.

But the real AFC South story was the red-hot start of Cam Ward and the Titans. Tennessee began the season 9-3 as Ward took the league by storm. He was the talk of the NFL through 13 weeks and had a lock on the Offensive Rookie of the Year race. But the Titans proceeded to rattle off a five-game losing streak as the league caught up to the rookie QB, and Tennessee limped into the playoffs with a 9-8 record.

While the Colts stole the division from the Titans, Tennessee was able to turn the tables in the wild-card round. The result? A 34-13 blowout in Tennessee’s favor at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Ravens edge Bengals for AFC North title

With the Browns and Steelers nonfactors, it was clear by midseason that the AFC North would come down to Baltimore and Cincinnati. The race peaked in Week 15, when the two teams — then tied at 7-6 — squared off for their second meeting.

It was a classic in Baltimore. Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson traded big throws against seemingly helpless defenses — the quarterbacks combined for an outrageous eight touchdown passes. But the Ravens finally got the stop they needed, and rookie Tyler Loop finished off the Bengals with a 43-yard field goal as time expired to give the Ravens a 41-38 victory. The win put Baltimore up a game in the standings and also gave it a head-to-head tiebreaker against the Bengals. It was needed, as the Ravens and Bengals both finished 10-7.

The lack of home-field advantage proved costly for the Bengals, who lost a wild-card heartbreaker in Denver 35-32. The Ravens took advantage of playing at home, dispatching the Dolphins 34-17 in the wild-card round and the Broncos 24-22 in the divisional round to go to the AFC Championship Game.

Cardinals win a playoff game

With all the surprise NFC playoff misses, spots were available. And the Cardinals were one of the upstarts that took advantage. Arizona had a good, but not great, 9-8 season in which quarterback Kyler Murray played quite well, wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. took a small step forward and the defense was mediocre. That was enough for a wild-card berth, and the Cardinals made some postseason noise.

Arizona routed the NFC South champion Falcons 35-14. Playoff Josh Sweat sacked Michael Penix Jr. multiple times, while Murray threw two touchdown passes to Zay Jones. But the Cardinals didn’t carry that momentum into their divisional round matchup with the Vikings, losing 28-22 when their attempted game-winning drive stalled out in the final minute.

Saints get first overall pick, prompting Arch watch

Sometimes preseason expectations hold. FPI predicted the Saints to be the worst team in football, and they were just that. The easy schedule worked in their favor, too. New Orleans was tied with the Jets and Browns for the worst record at 5-12, but it earned the No. 1 pick on the schedule-strength tiebreaker.

Before the season, Archie Manning predicted that his grandson Arch Manning would remain with Texas for the 2026 season. But when the Saints — Archie’s former team — earned the first overall pick, speculation about the youngest Manning speeding up his NFL timetable began to grow.

No. 7 seed Buccaneers go on unlikely Super Bowl run

For much of the season, the Buccaneers looked like a mild disappointment, as quarterback Baker Mayfield couldn’t quite match his 2024 success with new offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard. Entering Week 18, Tampa Bay sat at 8-8 on the outside looking in at the playoffs — a game out of the NFC South and wild-card berths. The Bucs needed that final week to break their way, and it did.

The division was out of reach once the Falcons beat the Saints, but the Buccaneers kept their playoff hopes alive with a 20-15 victory over the Panthers. They got the help they needed, with the 49ers losing to the Seahawks 24-17 and the Bears falling to the Lions 38-9. That allowed Tampa Bay to grab the last wild-card spot with a 9-8 record.

The Bucs entered the playoffs with low expectations but shocked No. 2-seeded Detroit 27-24 in the wild-card round, keyed by a Yaya Diaby sack and a deflection of a Jared Goff pass that was intercepted. Tampa Bay then surprised the top-seeded Rams 27-22 in the divisional round thanks to a clinical Mayfield performance. Todd Bowles’ defense got the job done in the NFC Championship Game, confusing J.J. McCarthy and the Vikings and winning 28-13. Emeka Egbuka and Bucky Irving had big days, and the Bucs were Super Bowl bound — where they met the Bills.

In a wild NFC playoffs, five of six road teams won their matchups. Here’s how the overall postseason played out leading into the Super Bowl:

Bills win Super Bowl LX

Bills Mafia, rejoice. Buffalo really did it. After coming up short four times in a row in the early 1990s and then knocking on the door in recent years with Josh Allen, the Bills finally burst through with a statement win.

Buffalo was the best team in the regular season, winning 13 games to earn the No. 1 seed in the AFC. Allen won his second straight MVP award — no controversy this time — and the Lombardi Trophy was considered Buffalo’s to lose.

The Bills’ No. 1 seed earned them a divisional round matchup against a plucky Titans team that wasn’t ready for the moment. The Bills won 28-14. The real test came in the AFC Championship Game — the last game ever in Highmark Stadium.

With snow flurries falling in true Buffalo fashion, the Bills hosted their fiercest challenger, the Ravens. Allen put on a top-tier performance, recording a 91 QBR and throwing a go-ahead fourth-quarter touchdown pass to tight end Dalton Kincaid. Allen and the Bills outdueled Jackson and the Ravens 24-20 to advance to Super Bowl LX.

The betting market pegged the Bills as 7.5-point favorites over the Buccaneers, which was more than enough. The Bills opened with a two-score lead in the first eight minutes on a 56-yard touchdown run by James Cook. It didn’t get closer, so Allen hardly needed to make big plays. Cook took home Super Bowl LX MVP with his three touchdowns, and the Bills were finally victorious, trouncing Tampa Bay 55-23.

Altcoin Season Suggested by Bullish Options Action

by admin September 2, 2025

Sharp gains in alternative cryptocurrencies could define the year-end, with SOL, XRP, and TRUMP poised to lead the charge, crypto options and derivatives platform PowerTrade said Tuesday.

“Traders were placing bets for altcoin season running into year-end with strong upside call activity for end-of-December expirations in AEVO, AR, DOGE, ENA, HYPE, LINK, MOG, PAXG, SOL, TIA, TRUMP and ZRO,” Bernd Sischka, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer at PowerTrade told CoinDesk, explaining the market flows in August.

The platform registered a cumulative trading volume of over $1 billion in August – with call options making up roughly 68% of total trades—an unmistakable sign that investors are leaning towards upside plays rather than protective hedges. A call option gives the holder the right, but not the obligation, to purchase the underlying asset at a predetermined price on or before a specific date, representing a bullish bet on the market.

Solana stood out again, attracting heavy call buying in September and December expirations, with strike prices set well above current levels. Traders appear confident that the native token of the Solana blockchain will chalk out a breakout rally in the fourth quarter.

Meanwhile, XRP experienced unusually large block trades in the December expiry calls, suggesting growing optimism around potential regulatory clarity or ecosystem developments. In a quirky twist, traders took massive call spreads in TRUMP options, anticipating a volatility boom.

Meme coins like dogecoin DOGE$0.2139 and pepe PEPE$0.0₅9774 drew mostly retail interest, but tokens like WIF witnessed rising open interest, signaling that institutional investors are quietly building positions, especially in more established altcoins.

The platform emphasised that institutions are playing a larger role, engaging in block RFQs (request-for-quotes) on bitcoin and ether volatility, as well as sizable altcoin trades that combine hedging and speculative bets. “With Fed policy steady and liquidity returning, stars are aligning for a monster altseason end of year,” it said.

Broadly speaking, PowerTrade’s report revealed growing speculation in the broader market, extending beyond bitcoin and ether, with both retail and institutional participants preparing for significant gains in altcoins in the coming months.

While PowerTrade’s overall trading volume remains significantly smaller compared to industry giant Deribit, it distinguishes itself by offering options tied to smaller altcoins. This specialization allows traders to hedge their exposure and capitalize on price movements in these more volatile, less widely covered tokens, an opportunity often not available on larger platforms.

Apple’s MLS Season Pass drops to as low as $25 for the rest of 2025

by admin September 1, 2025

The end of any sports season is usually the most exciting part, and MLS fans can watch the climax of the 2025 campaign for a discount. As it has done each year around this time since it locked up the rights to the top North American soccer league, Apple is offering the MLS Season Pass at a discount for the remainder of the season. Apple TV+ subscribers can get access for $25, while everyone else can snag the season pass for $29.

This is just the latest MLS Season Pass price cut of 2025, as Apple slashed it in half to $49 in July. However, it’s not quite as great a deal as latecomers got on the pass last year. Apple’s end-of-season discount for 2024 saw the season pass drop to just $10 in early September.

We’re now well over halfway through the 2025 season. Teams have between five and nine games of the regular season left to play. Inter Miami have the most games remaining due to the team’s participation in the Club World Cup, so Lionel Messi fans might get to see quite a bit more of him — especially if his squad makes the MLS Cup playoffs. You’ll also have the chance to check out a few new high-profile imports to MLS, including Son Heung-min at Los Angeles FC and Thomas Müller at Vancouver Whitecaps. The season will end with the MLS Cup final, which will take place on December 6.

The Pitt season 2: everything we know so far about the hit HBO Max show’s return

by admin August 29, 2025

The Pitt season 2: key information

– Will arrive in January 2026
– Teaser trailer released in August 2025
– Production began in June 2025
– Main cast set to return
– New recurring characters revealed
– Season 2 will time jump to 10 months ahead
– Hopes for future seasons

The Pitt season 2 is coming in January 2026, only a year after the popular HBO Max show premiered on the streamer. The medical drama saw ER‘s Noah Wyle as the dynamic Dr. Michael ‘Robby’ Robinavitch taking charge of an incredibly stressful day at the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital.

And traumatic it most certainly was, culminating in a rather dramatic finale that fortunately, viewers won’t have to wait too long to find some resolve. But, in true hospital fashion, as one intense shift ends, another begins (though with a time jump, which I’ll get into more below) as the medical staff begin another day with even more drama. Here’s everything we know so far from release date, confirmed cast, plot synopsis, and more.

Full spoilers for The Pitt season 1 to follow.

The Pitt season 2 release date has been confirmed – and it’s January 2026. Revealed by Max CEO Casey Bloys in conversation with Vulture back in March, he said: “The second season will premiere in January of 2026, a year later. This model of more episodes cuts down on the gap between seasons.”

With season 1, we were treated to an epic 15 episodes worth of emergency room drama. And it appears season 2 will follow suit, Bloys added: “What I love about something like The Pitt is, I can get 15 episodes in a year. That’s a really great addition to what we’re already doing on the platform. And I’d like to do more shows in this model.”

After a February 2025 renewal, the show headed into production on season 2 in June amid official news from HBO Max that the series had stayed among the top three of the streamer’s most-watched titles globally.

Watch On

The Pitt season 2 got its first official teaser trailer in August and it reveals more high-octane medical drama unravelling in the emergency room as doctors struggle with an overwhelming rush of patients in dire need of help.

But, it did make us say, hang on, hasn’t The Pitt season 2’s first trailer spoiled a major season 1 cliffhanger? In the first five seconds, Dana can be seen back at work, standing behind the desk. Surprising news considering the season 1 finale saw her seriously questioning whether she could keep doing the job. She’s back and I’m not mad about it, quite the opposite.

The Pitt season 2 teaser trailer is also great confirmation for other cast members, alongside Dana, returning for the next installment.

Spoilers follow for The Pitt season 1.

Thanks to the teaser trailer, here’s The Pitt season 2 confirmed cast we know so far:

  • Noah Wyle as Dr. Michael ‘Robby’ Robinavitch
  • Katherine LaNasa as Dana Evans
  • Fiona Dourif as Dr. Cassie McKay
  • Patrick Ball as Dr. Frank Langdon
  • Supriya Ganesh as Dr. Samira Mohan
  • Taylor Dearden as Dr. Melissa King
  • Isa Briones as Dr. Trinity Santos
  • Shabana Azeez as Dr. Victoria Javadi
  • Gerran Howell as Dr. Dennis Whitaker
  • Shawn Hatosy as Dr. Jack Abbot

Dr. Heather Collins won’t be returning for season 2 (Image credit: HBO Max)

There’s one character that won’t be returning for The Pitt season 2 and that’s Tracey Ifeachor as Dr. Heather Collins, as confirmed by Deadline. While it’s not clear the reasons behind her exit, Ifeachor posted on her official Instagram to say: “It was an absolute privilege to play Dr. Heather Collins in such a groundbreaking season and piece.”

We also know about some new characters joining The Pitt season 2. Lawrence Robinson will play Brian Hancock, “a sweet, charming and kind-hearted patient who turns a soccer injury into a possible meet-cute with one of the doctors” (as per Deadline).

Sepideh Moafi also joins as a series regular playing an attending physician, as well as Charles Baker, Irene Choi, Laëtitia Hollard and Lucas Iverson in recurring roles, as exclusively revealed by Deadline.

Finally, in another reveal by Deadline, Zack Morris is also joining as Jackson Davis, “a patient brought to the ED after an uncontrollable outburst in the college library.”

The Pitt season 2 story speculation

The Pitt season 2 picks up on Langdon’s first day back (Image credit: HBO Max)

Full spoilers follow for The Pitt season 1.

For The Pitt season 2, the cast will pick up in the emergency room 10 months after the intense shift that unravelled in season 1.

This time jump was revealed during Deadline’s Contenders TV panel in April and it was further explained by the creative team that season 2 will take place over the Fourth of July weekend for another 15 hours and 15 episodes of medical emergencies.

And when it comes to the reason for this time jump, the show’s creator R. Scott Gemmill revealed to TVLine that it has a lot to do with Dr. Langdon’s recovery.

The season 1 finale saw Dr. Robby tell Langdon that if he wants to return to Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center, then he has to check himself into a 30-day inpatient rehab. Of course, that’s not 10 months. But, recovery isn’t linear.

Gemmill said: “Thirty days is probably the minimum he would have to do. You can do 60, 90… and part of [the time jump] is driven by when he can shoot in Pittsburgh.”

He added: “Nine, basically 10 months later, gives a lot of room for us to have developed a few stories in the interim and catch up with everyone. And with it being Langdon’s first day back, we get to catch up as he catches up with all those people.”

And like season 1, the next season will follow the same 15-hour schedule running from 7am to 10pm and all the intense medical situations that can bring in, especially over the Fourth of July weekend.

While the season 1 finale saw Dana’s return unclear, she’s back (Image credit: HBO Max)

The recovery wasn’t just for Langdon though with Dr. Robby having to address his own mental health issues and speaking to TVLine in April, Gemmill said: “Getting himself mentally healthy against is part of his journey.”

With such stressful jobs, the pressure was unsurprisingly getting to the doctors and none more so than Dana Evans who we last saw packing up her things in the season 1 finale and telling Dr. Robby she was thinking about leaving the ER for good.

Fortunately, we know she didn’t commit to this, appearing in the first official teaser trailer very much still part of the team (despite a stern look pointed towards Dr. Robby).

And with new characters joining for season 2, there’s plenty of new faces – both doctors and patients – that I’m sure will bring their own personal dramas (and medical cases) to The Pitt.

What they won’t be doing in the 15 hours that will unfold on our screens though, is ever leave the ER. Gemmill explained: “The reality is that we don’t really leave our set. We don’t leave the ER. We did a few things at the very end where we saw people going home and stuff.

“But beyond that, I don’t expect us to go anywhere beyond the hospital and the ambulance bay until the last episodes of next season, and maybe we’ll see a couple other parts of the hospital.”

The real-life medical landscape is reflected in season 2 (Image credit: HBO Max)

And although they’re not stepping outside of the hospital, it doesn’t mean they can’t address real-time and real-life concerns that affect medical care in the US.

Speaking to Variety, executive producer John Wells explained that this includes President Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill’, outlining a 12% cut to Medicaid spending: “The Medicaid changes are going to have a significant impact, and you don’t have to take a political position to discuss what the impact is actually going to be.”

Gemmill added: “We take out platform very seriously. I think one of the things when you can reach 10 million people – and this was true back in the day on ‘ER’ as well – is with that amount of people listening, you have to be responsible for what you put out there.”

Will The Pitt return after season 3?

Could The Pitt become an annual drop for HBO Max? (Image credit: Max)

With The Pitt season 2 landing on HBO Max in January, there’s no news yet of a season 3… and beyond. It doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll have to wait until January for news of more though, given season 2 was treated to an early renewal.

But, for now, I don’t have much to report other than Gemmill joking with Deadline that: “If there’s a season 12, we’ll do a musical. Right now, we kind of want to stick to what was working for us, but we’re still learning. It’s a process.”

While season 12 sounds crazy to talk about now (and a musical even crazier), ER did run for 15 seasons. So, maybe it’s not all that wild of an idea after all.
