by admin September 8, 2025

The second season of The Last of Us, which comprised seven episodes, has won its first Emmy.

At this weekend’s Creative Arts Emmys, The Last of Us took home the award for Outstanding Sound Editing for a Comedy or Drama Series for the second season’s second episode, known as Through the Valley.

You can check out the full list of this weekend’s winners via Deadline.

The first season of The Last of Us was nominated for 24 Emmys. It went on to win eight, including Outstanding Guest Actor for Nick Offerman’s portrayal of Bill.

The second season wrapped earlier this year, with a third season already confirmed to be in the pipeline. Back in July of this year, The Last of Us video game creator Neil Druckmann announced he was stepping away from his creative involvement in HBO’s TV adaptation, calling this a “difficult decision”.

This is a news-in-brief story. This is part of our vision to bring you all the big news as part of a daily live report.

The Creators of ‘Wednesday’ Tease Their Season 3 Plans

by admin September 8, 2025

The second season of Netflix’s Wednesday came to a close earlier this week, and with season three on the way, creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar have just one objective: “Make it the best season of [the show] we possibly can, and continue digging deeper into our characters,” according to Millar.

In a recent Tudum blog, the duo teased some things viewers can expect the third time around. While keeping mum on spoilers, they told audiences to examine season two’s final episode, which lays “a nice breadcrumb that leads audiences to wonder…what the new adventure for Wednesday will be.” Things ended with Nevermore Academy shut down, giving Wednesday the freedom to go with with Fester and Thing to find Enid up north. But finding her missing ahem, friend isn’t the only thing she’ll have to contend with: in the episode’s final moments, Wednesday’s maternal aunt Ophelia, who she previously had a vision about, used her blood to write of the Addams’ daughter’s death.

What’s coming for Wednesday that Ophelia knows about? Millar and Gough didn’t say, but they promised viewers would see and learn more of the Addams’ extended family. More light will also be shed on Nevermore—maybe paving the way for a spinoff starring another Addams? Either way, Millar and Gough called the show “such an alchemy of writing, directing, acting, crew, streamer, studio, and fans. We remain grateful and excited to continue this journey and tell these stories with all of our partners.”

No release window for Wednesday season three yet, but we’ll have more on it as news emerges.

The Last Of Us Season 3: Release Date, Cast, And Everything We Know About The Hit HBO Series

The Last Of Us Season 3: Release Date, Cast, And Everything We Know About The Hit HBO Series

by admin September 7, 2025

Following the conclusion of The Last of Us Season 2, the show was nominated for 16 Emmy Awards, including Best Drama. The first season took home eight Emmy Awards in 2023, including guest-acting wins for Nick Offerman and Storm Reid.

Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal may have gone home empty handed from the show’s first night at the Emmys, but their respective turns as Ellie and Joel have given new life to the franchise that began as a pair of critically acclaimed video games by Sony.

Season 2 began the adaptation of The Last of Us Part 2, which introduced Kaitlyn Dever as Abby and controversially featured Joel’s murder at her hands. That fueled Ellie’s desire for revenge against Abby, which went horribly wrong in the Season 2 finale.

Ahead of the show’s eventual return to HBO, GameSpot has put together this guide to everything you need to know about The Last of Us Season 3.

Will Bella Ramsey return for The Last of Us Season 3?

The cliffhanger ending of The Last of Us Season 2 has some fans worried about the fate of Bella Ramsey’s Ellie, since she was facing the business end of Abby’s gun in the closing moments. Abby had Ellie dead to rights in a scene directly lifted from the game.

The resolution of that scene is in The Last of Us Part 2. Fans who want to spoil the narrative can always jump to the game to see how those events played out. But the short answer is “yes,” Ramsey will reprise her role as Ellie. She just may not be as prominent in Season 3.

Will The Last of Us Season 3 be all about Abby?

As seen in the Season 2 finale, the perspective of the story has shifted and flashed back to Abby’s first day in Seattle. Subsequently, it has been confirmed that Season 3 will be Abby’s story, and viewers will learn more about her just as players did when Abby took over the narrative in The Last of Us Part 2.

Who is joining the cast of The Last of Us Season 3?

For now, there are no new cast members who have been announced.

Is The Last of Us Co-creator Neil Druckmann staying with the show?

No. Neil Druckmann announced his departure from The Last of Us in July, citing a need to resume his duties at developer Naughty Dog to prepare the company’s next game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. Through the first two seasons, Druckmann was the co-showrunner with Craig Mazin. In Druckmann’s absence, Mazin will be the sole showrunner going forward.

How many episodes will The Last of Us Season 3 have?

Mazin hasn’t confirmed any episode counts yet, but he has stated that Season 3 will be longer than Season 2. The first season of the show had nine episodes, while Season 2 had seven.

When will The Last of Us Season 3 be released?

Although HBO hasn’t formally set a premiere date for The Last of Us Season 3, HBO content chairman Casey Bloys has suggested that the show is “definitely planned for 2027.”

Will The Last of Us end with Season 3?

Since there isn’t a third video game to draw upon and it’s unknown if The Last of Us Part 3 will be made, the story of Ellie and Abby will conclude when the show catches up to the end of The Last of Us Part 2. Previously, showrunner Craig Mazin said that Season 4 was essential to bring the show to a conclusion. However, Bloys has indicated that the show may wrap up its run with Season 3.

“Craig is still working it out whether it will be two more seasons or one more long season. It hasn’t been decided yet, and I’m following Craig’s lead on that,” said Bloys.

5 Things We Loved, 3 Things We Didn’t About ‘Wednesday’ Season 2 Part 2

by admin September 6, 2025

Season 2 of Wednesday is finally available to watch in its entirety on Netflix. And while the first half introduced a solid return, the second half almost holds up before a messy to-be-continued conclusion.

Tim Burton puts his whole Burtonesque business on full display with a third-act antagonist reveal that both works and doesn’t. The Addams family being at the mechanical heart of another mystery creates a lot of fun lore for Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) to discover about her parents. This time Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) isn’t the only Addams with a dark secret; Gomez (Luis Guzmán) and Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez) are also involved.

And it all, of course, ties back to what makes Nevermore the center of the drama, both in its past and in its present. But did it all come together in a satisfying way? Very nearly, as season two’s writers room finds its footing with a good blend of diverse voices led by Miles Millar and Alfred Gough but gets mired by falling back into building an anticipation for more in season three with no solid conclusion to stand on its own.

We loved: Weems’ return

© Netflix

All hail Gwendoline Christie’s return to Nevermore. Weems is the perfect mentor-slash-foil to push Wednesday around as her guide and fight for her legacy at the school. Just speculating here, but if the writers created some woo-woo magic excuse to materialize her enough to be a visible specter, we would definitely accept her coming back as the school’s immortal principal. It’s a supernatural world; let’s do it. Season three without Weems wouldn’t be the same.

We loved: The Addams family matters

© Netflix

If the show wasn’t an Addams Family spin-off, it would be a problem, but truly I love that at the core of a lot of the mystery is Wednesday’s family. They are the drama in this world and we love the goth telenovela aspect of it all. Morticia and Gomez have had murderous haters since high school; all her killings have been in defense of those she loves. They had it coming! Nevermore’s secrets being brought to light because of Wednesday is hilarious because so many of her mysteries would have been solved quicker if she and Tish had a better relationship.

We loved: Bianca and Ajax’s friendship

© Netflix

As the show finds better ways to balance its concurrent plots, we hope to see more of Bianca and Ajax stepping up as the leaders of Nevermore. While Wednesday has no interest in being a student body leader, they most resemble the archetype to protect the outcasts that Morticia and Gomez were established to have had when they were students. We didn’t get much of Bianca and Morticia bonding over that and I hope it’s seen in later seasons of the show. Ajax babysitting Pugsley and Eugene was awesome. Plus their last act of heroics against Dort really made them the school’s real MVPs.

We loved: Weird Wednesday

© Netflix

The Freaky Friday body swap between Enid and Wednesday was a delightful way to really help them understand one another. We needed more of them bonding since the first half separated them for so long and this was the perfect way to establish why they are the balance of dark and light at the core of the show. It really worked to set up why Wednesday goes after wolfed-out Enid at the end of the season to save her. Plus seeing Ortega go polar opposite and be a girly girl was too funny.

We loved: Lady Gaga making a monster meal of a small role

© Netflix

We’re still not convinced she’s Rosaline Rotwood. Why? Because a lot has been hinted about Rosaline and Ophelia’s Raven abilities, with a particular nod to supernatural vulnerabilities that Morticia wants to protect Wednesday from. Seeing Gaga as a trickster apparition who tests her was a joy, and we wouldn’t be surprised if she was a-possessed-by-Rosaline Ophelia. That ending reveal that Grandmama is holding the missing Frump in a secret room with the same white-blond hair makes us wonder if, in addition to possibly being possessed, she can astral project. We’re obsessed and want more Gaga in this universe.

We didn’t love: The ball dance minus Wednesday

© Netflix

We needed Wednesday to join in and make this the modern-day Mean Girls “Jingle Bell Rock” dance. The song, however? It eats the dancefloor up and we can’t wait to see it recreated online. Thank you Gaga for this spooky gift.

We didn’t love: The Hydes

© Netflix

Tyler being related to the big bad this season gave off “Palpatine is my grandfather” vibes. Not everyone has to be related! We loved Tyler’s origin as a normie being a journey he could go on as he realized he had a suppressed outcast identity within. It still makes little sense to have him blindly just follow along with anyone who calls themselves his master, first Marylin Thornhill, then his mom and uncle Isaac, who try to use their family drama to pit him against the Addams and force him to be normal. The Isaac reveal as being the rest of Thing’s body therefor also Tyler’s uncle further makes the “everyone is related” trope made the big bad reveal overkill.

Thankfully we got a moment where Tyler and Wednesday break the generational chains and might get a fresh start with their own extended will-they, wont-they. We hope Tyler figures his family drama out and returns with a better sense of maybe belonging among the students at Nevermore alongside Wednesday (we can’t help but ship)—not just trying to kill them all the time

We didn’t love: Enid’s curse

© Netflix

Finally getting Wednesday and Enid back together was short-lived in order to set up season three. We have to wait a questionable amount of time to see if Wednesday can help her friend return to her human form after discovering she’s an alpha who turned herself into a werewolf to dig Wednesday out of an early grave. From a pacing standpoint, it feels forced to entice fans to watch more but really left us on a cliffhanger that might take years to pick up on.

Wednesday is now streaming on Netflix.

Netflix’s animated Tomb Raider adaptation reportedly ending after second season

by admin September 6, 2025

Netflix’s animated Tomb Raider series seems to be coming to an end.

That’s according to Variety, which reports that the second season of Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft may be its last following its premiere on December 11, 2025.

GamesIndustry.biz has reached out to Netflix for further clarification.

Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft was initially announced in 2021, premiering on October 10, 2024. It was renewed for a second season shortly after.

The animated series isn’t the only recent adaptation of the video game franchise.

Yesterday it was announced that Amazon’s live-action Tomb Raider series will begin production on January 19, 2026, with Sophie Turner as Lara Croft.

The series was greenlit in May 2024, with Phoebe Waller-Bridge at the helm alongside Wayward Pines creator Chad Hodge and Shōgun director Jonathan van Tulleken.

Fan-favorite Black Ops 6 perk completely broken in Season 5 Reloaded

by admin September 5, 2025

One of Black Ops 6’s must-use perks is actually broken following the Season 5 Reloaded update, and Call of Duty fans aren’t pleased.

Call of Duty has always had a meta in some form or another in multiplayer. Everyone remembers the Heartbeat Sensor and Commando Pro from Modern Warfare 2 (2009), while more recent examples include the DMR, Grau, and DMR in Warzone.

Black Ops 6 has, of course, fallen into different metas at times too. The seasonal updates are meant to provide shifts in those popular choices with balancing adjustments. However, it doesn’t always work out like that.

Season 5 Reloaded has brought out some changes, but one unexpected tweak has fallen the way of Ninja. The perk wasn’t touched in the new update, but has become “broken” for a number of fans.

Ninja perk broken in Black Ops 6

Since the new update, which went live on September 3, players have reported that the perk no longer gives you silent footsteps when moving around the map.

“Completely broken. Playing some ridiculous S&D matches right now,” one fan said. “for some strange reason on all my weapon classes my ninja perk is like defective, im still able to hear my footsteps,” another reported.

“Not hopping back on until this is fixed, the maps don’t play very well without ninja,” complained another. “Something is wrong with footsteps for sure. At first, I thought it was Ninja not working, but I think teammates footsteps are louder too?” another chimed in.

As it stands, the Call of Duty devs have not flagged the issue on their CODUpdates page or their Trello board. Yet, that hasn’t stopped fans from asking for a fix.

“The perk can still be equipped but fails to function as intended (acting as if you don’t have it). Unclear how long the issue will last,” one fan said.

Others have claimed that Flak Jacket is also not working as intended, but it also hasn’t been flagged for a change in the patch notes.

“When adventurer Lara Croft discovers a trail of stolen African Orisha masks, she joins forces with her best friend Sam to retrieve the precious artifacts,” reads the season two description. “Lara’s thrilling new adventure takes her around the globe as she delves deeper into the hidden secrets of Orisha history, dodging the machinations of a dangerous and enigmatic billionaire who wants the masks for herself, while discovering these relics contain dark secrets and a power that defies logic. Power that may, in fact, be divine.”

Hayley Atwell returns for the second season as the voice of Lara Croft, as does Earl Baylon as Jonah. Joining the cast this season is Karen Fukuhara, who is known for The Boys and Suicide Squad. Fukuhara will voice Sam, a character first introduced in 2013’s Tomb Raider reboot.

All Marvel Rivals Codes August 2025 For Free Skins And Rewards in Season 3

by admin September 4, 2025

Marvel Rivals exploded into existence in late 2024 and hasn’t relented in pace since. While 2025 codes for freebies in NetEase’s hero shooter are scarce, the developer has been known to dish out rewards, including free skins, in the past.

We’ve got a full list of the current active Marvel Rivals codes, as well as any that were once active and have now expired. We’ll be regularly updating this guide as soon as new Rivals codes drop, so make sure to bookmark it.

New Marvel Rivals codes

There is a new Marvel Rivals code! See it below:

  • prt4qpdnxht – Doctor Strange Master of Black Magic skin

Expired codes

  • nwarh4k3xqy – Iron Man Model 42 Skin
  • HEREISTHETHING – The Thing skin awarded for singing up to Marvel Rivals Unlimited

Follow these instructions to redeem your Rivals codes:

  • Open the Settings menu
  • Click ‘Bundle Code’
  • Copy and paste your code from the list above
  • Click ‘Redeem’
  • Enjoy your rewards!

Free Marvel Rivals skins

Alongside codes, there are other ways to snag free Rivals skins. In the past, there have been giveaways, Twitch drops, and platform-exclusive freebies. The current Twitch drops event is giving away the following items between August 8 and September 5:

  • Mantis Will of Galacta Spray – Watch 30 minutes
  • Mantis Will of Galacta Nameplate – Watch one hour
  • Mantis Celestial Radiance Emote – Watch two hours
  • Mantis Will of Galacta Costume – Watch four hours

Then, once you’ve met the criteria above, login to your Twitch inventory and claim your freebies. The next time you log in to Marvel Rivals, your rewards will be in your inbox. Any streamer who has enabled drops playing Marvel Rivals in the correct category will count towards your progress, and you do not need to watch the same streamer for the entire duration in order to qualify for the free items. If you’re unsure how long you’ve been watching for, you can also check your Twitch inventory for your progression percentage.

Peni Parker’s Blue Tarantula skin

Another way to get free skins is by just playing the game. If you’ve reached far enough on the free version of the battle pass you’ll be collecting the in-game currency, Chrono Tokens. 400 Chrono Tokens can currently get you the Symbiote Flora Groot or Symbiote Rocket Raccoon skin from the battle pass pages, and these change each season. If you’re playing the game’s ranked mode, reaching gold by the end of the season will also get you the Emerald Blade skin. There are more skins to be redeemed if you’ve purchased the Luxury Battle Pass, too.

Finally, Marvel Rivals events come and go, and sometimes these provide free skins too. The current Milano Repair Logs event is offering the Symbiote Storm skin for clearing its missions. A Costume Coin can be earned by playing the Galacta’s Gift event. This Costume Coin can be used to grab a free skin from a small selection. You can also grab the The Thing Symbiote-Thing skin for completing the free reward path in the Codex event.

Who is Francoise in Wednesday? Netflix viewers left “disturbed” by Season 2 scene

by admin September 4, 2025

There’s a lot going on in Wednesday Season 2 Part 2, including the introduction of a key new character: Francoise. We have met her before, but the latest chapter reveals her true identity – and there’s a reason she’s left viewers “disturbed”.

At the end of Season 2 Part 1 of the hit Netflix series, Tyler transformed into Hyde and threw Wednesday out of the window after she freed the imprisoned outcasts at Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital.

Article continues after ad

Thankfully, she survives, and now she’s back on her mission to save Enid following that deadly premonition. Tyler is still at large, as is Slurp the zombie, and there’s also the question of what Principal Dort is up to.

At least one issue was solved in Episode 4: Judi Stonehearst’s reign of terror has come to an end. But what about the mysterious woman Wednesday saved at Willow Hill? Warning: spoilers ahead!

Who is Francoise in Wednesday?

Netflix

In Wednesday Season 2 Part 2, we learn that the woman, ‘Patient 1938’, is actually Francoise Galpin, the wife of the late Jericho Sheriff, Donovan Galpin. That means the theories were correct: she is, in fact, Tyler’s mother.

Article continues after ad

Article continues after ad

She’s also a Hyde, having passed down her genetics to her son. But without a master, Francoise’s health is declining, and this is where Slurp comes in. Turns out, he’s not just a mystery meat-eating zombie – he’s Isaac Night, Francoise’s brother.

Isaac was presumed dead, but he was reanimated by Pugsley in Season 2 Part 1. The Netflix series reveals he’s the genius who created the outcast-reversal machine stolen by Augustus Stonehurst for his mad experiments.

Article continues after ad

Decades ago, his plan was to use the technology to remove the Hyde powers from his sister in a bid to save her life. However, in order to do so, he was willing to sacrifice his best friend at the time: Gomez Addams.

Netflix

Thankfully, Morticia managed to put a stop to it before the procedure killed Gomez, and the explosion from that night seemingly killed Isaac. After he was revived in the present day, he feasted on brains and, by Season 2 Part 2, he’s looking a lot more like his human self.

Article continues after ad

Article continues after ad

Francoise is later reunited with Tyler before Isaac pays them a visit. Together, the brother-sister duo decide to try and take back control of the machine at Nevermore and carry out the procedure, sacrificing Pugsley instead.

In short, the Night family are a gang of homicidal maniacs – except when it comes to their own.

Did Francoise deserve to be locked away by the Stonehearts all those years? Given his motives and the conditions of her imprisonment, no. Yet, the fact she’s willing to kill innocent people in order to save her own life (or her son’s) shows she’s a danger to society.

Article continues after ad

But there’s another characteristic of hers that has left an impression on viewers – not the good kind.

Francoise Galpin and Isaac Night accused of “incest” relationship

Netflix

Francoise and Isaac’s relationship seems a little too close in Wednesday Season 2, with the pair often embracing in a way that would suggest they’re lovers rather than siblings, and this is something that’s been picked up on by the fans.

Article continues after ad

This isn’t Game of Thrones, after all.

Taking to Reddit, one wrote, “Did anyone else get really off vibes from Isaac and Francoise? They seemed more like lovers than siblings and it was so uncomfortable to watch,” to which another replied, “Yeah it feels so incest-y.”

Article continues after ad

A third agreed, “The part where they’re looking in the mirror together and quickly pull apart when Tyler comes in really gave off that incest vibe. Like I’m not gonna dramatically pull away from a hug with my sibling if someone walks in, it’s just a hug.”

One viewer had to double check they weren’t reading it wrong. “I even Googled if they’re actually lovers who pretended to be siblings because there is no way siblings act around each other like that,” they wrote. “That hug before Tyler barged in was… so uncomfortable to watch.”

Article continues after ad

Netflix

Others highlighted the fact that, despite her clear affection for her brother, Francoise didn’t hesitate to show her dark side to Tyler, even slapping him around the face.

Article continues after ad

“For real, all they focused on was showing this lovey-dovey sh*t and we weren’t able to even see Tyler bond or like ask stuff to his mother, also that slap was crazy,” said one, with another writing, “I know right?? I thought it’d be more loving but she was just awful.”

Article continues after ad

“Got Thornhill flashbacks when she called him sweetie right after slapping him and when she said love you and finger kissed him while he was bound and begging her to let him go,” commented a third.

At least one fan was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, writing, “Honestly that scene where they were embracing in front of the mirror was kinda jarring to me (totally gave weird vibes).

“But I chalked it up to the visible age difference and the fact that they are both pretty uniquely unhinged (even amongst outcasts) and the only ones who could truly understand each other since they grew up together.”
