Here’s what’s in Skate’s ’90s-themed first season, arriving next week

by admin October 3, 2025

Following its early access launch, Skate’s first season will arrive next week, bringing new areas, events, challenges, and more.

Called Hesh & Fresh, the first season is inspired by the ’90s and will run from 7th October until 2nd December.

As mentioned last month, the season will bring an updated lighting system to ensure the city of San Van is “more grounded and lived in”, while the skate.Pass allows players to earn in-game seasonal currency (called Tix) with which to purchase cosmetic rewards.

Two events will be added this season. The first is Skate-o-Ween, based on Halloween (obviously) but with an emphasis on amusing outfits. It’ll run from 21st October to 11th November.

That will be followed by the 7-Ply Maple Harvest from 18th November until 2nd December, calling back to the 70s and the wood used for skateboard construction at that time.

Both events will have community parks updated in celebration, as well as themed cosmetics.

The season will also add 40 new challenges rotating weekly, new brands in the in-game store, and 21 new songs from 90s artists like Bad Religion, Dinosaur Jr., Ice Cube, and more.

Skate arrived in early access last month and has so far proven a success, in particular with players sharing their stunts on social media. It proved especially popular on its first day, leading to lengthy queues.

“After an absolute age, EA’s wheelie classic is back with great handling and a whole world of slightly jarring niceness,” reads our Skate early access review.

Skate is published by EA, which this week announced a planned private acquisition by a group of investors including Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund in a private transaction worth $55bn.

Marvel Rivals season 4.5 early patch notes

by admin October 2, 2025

A new month means a new major update for Marvel Rivals. October 2025 is about to get real scary.

The Man Without Fear, Daredevil, is just a fraction of what’s coming to Marvel Rivals in season 4.5. Quality of life changes, balancing updates, new and different hero team-ups, and, of course, new skins are all a part of the patch.

We’ve got the details in the patch notes ahead of its release on Oct. 10.

Marvel Rivals – Season 4.5 early patch notes

New hero: Daredevil

Daredevil, yet another Duelist, is the new hero in the midseason update. Matt Murdock’s devilish appearance looks to add yet another nightmare for Strategist players to deal with in the backline as he’s able to quickly close the gap on fleeing foes and beat them down with his billy clubs.

New and changed Team-Up Abilities

  • New: Bestial Hunt (Daredevil and The Punisher)
    • As the Team-Up Anchor, Daredevil gains a maximum health increase of 25 and a 5% boost in damage output.
    • The Punisher unlocks a new Justice Sense ability through his Team-Up with Daredevil.
  • New: Deep Wrath (Hela and Namor)
    • Namor now gains the Tidal Dirge ability through his team-up with Hela.
  • Changed: Gamma Charge (Hulk, Namor, Black Panther)
  • Removed: Ragnarok Rebirth (Hela and Thor)

Cross Progression testing

Finally! Cross Progression is coming to Marvel Rivals, allowing players to link their PC and console accounts to use the same skins and unlocks across platforms. It will roll out in limited testing form in season 4.5, but it will come to all players in November for season five.

Everything besides leaderboards, ranked play ranks, and stats will carry over between the platforms, so the feature will mainly be for unlocking and using skins and items.

Enlisting Walton Goggins for a Fallout 76 expansion in “total tonal tandem” with season 2 came “organically”, devs say, despite previous hint at “very limited” crossover

by admin October 1, 2025

Fallout 76’s upcoming winter map expansion, Burning Springs, wears its Fallout TV show trappings loudly and proudly, as you can read about in our full preview. That’s not necessarily a bad thing: many players rightly took issue with Bethesda providing very little fresh Fallout to jump into after they watched the show’s debut series last year.

However, Burning Springs, with its “total tonal tandem” with the upcoming season two, seemingly represents a U-turn for how Bethesda see their online survival-ish RPG meshing with the TV series – and how they might capitalise on the boom in Fallout popularity that it’s helped usher in.

Last November, while at a preview for Fallout 76’s playable ghoul update, I asked lead producer Bill LaCoste whether he thought he and his colleagues would opt to do more in terms of crossover with the second series of Prime Video’s Fallout series than they had the first. There had been some tying-in the first time round, but mainly in the form of standalone cosmetics and gear; only Fallout 4 got a major patch during the season one boom, and that was April 2024’s unenthusiastically received “next gen update”.

“I would imagine it would probably be along the same lines,” LaCoste answered at the time. “Because we have an appreciation for the TV show, the story it’s trying to tell and the characters it’s trying to [portray], and we also have an appreciation for the story of Fallout 76 is trying to tell. So, very, very limited amounts of crossover, where it actually makes sense, because again, we’re on extreme ends of the [Fallout] timeline as well.

“We probably won’t go out of our way to add a whole bunch of stuff specific to the show, because we don’t feel like we need to. We feel like it’s great to let the TV show do its thing and for people to love the TV show for what it is, but also love our game for what it is, and not just give fan service for just the sake of doing it.”

Fast forward to now and, with Walton Goggins’ ghoul as the face of a 76 update – one that’s openly leaning hard into the single-player Fallout vibes that Bethesda believe show viewers would want – the crossover certainly doesn’t feel limited, for better or worse.

However, speaking at a preview for Burning Springs attended by RPS, LaCoste and Fallout 76 creative director Jon Rush painted this as having been planned ever since the first season found success. “Once season one wrapped up, we immediately started planning for the content we wanted to make for season two. Now, we didn’t know exactly when season two was going to come out, but we knew we at least wanted to start planning that content and then once we found out about dates, start planning all the patches around that.”

Rush said that looping in Goggins came about “organically” as the team fleshed out the update and decided to make his character, Cooper Howard a.k.a. The Ghoul, the face of Burning Springs’ “hallmark feature”: a new bounty-hunting system. Meanwhile, the pair alluded to Howard’s ghoulified nature as the only justification they were willing to divulge for his presence in Ohio during the time of Fallout 76, nearly two hundred years prior to the show’s setting.

There are plenty of ways The Ghoul’s inclusion can be made less out of the blue, lore-wise, and being dogmatic with the particulars of lore to the point that it impedes the potential to do interesting things isn’t something I’d generally advocate. Besides, it makes sense for Bethesda to have switched things up, if that is what’s happened here, to capitalise a lot more on series two with 76. Like I said, it’s something lots of folks wanted to see the first time round. There’s also the matter of Microsoft’s mass layoffs in the past few years potentially pushing teams under the Xbox umbrella to go harder in acting on opportunities like the one the TV show represents for 76.

I just hope that in doing so, the 76 team are still able to stick to their creative guns as LaCoste alluded to in that interview last year. That said, there’s definitely a debate to be had as to whether 76 serving as the vehicle of choice for substantial TV show tie-ins is the ideal role for it at this point in its lifespan. Once Burning Springs arrives, we’ll see whether it’s possible to have the best of both worlds.

Battlefield 6's first season arrives just 18 days after launch and over two weeks before Black Ops 7
Game Updates

Battlefield 6’s first season arrives just 18 days after launch and over two weeks before Black Ops 7

by admin October 1, 2025

As a multiplayer game releasing in the year 2025 – and one that’s very much modelled after Call of Duty – there was very little chance Battlefield 6 wasn’t going to adopt the now-standard live service content pipeline.

But sometimes it’s good to get things in writing, which is what EA just did.

We’re about ten days away from the official launch of Battlefield 6, and this week, EA announced what its Battlefield Studios squad will deliver post launch – at least the first batch. The developer detailed Season 1, which will kick off October 28 – only 18 days post launch.

The season’s content rollout has somewhat of an unusual structure, but it’s one that looks to guarantee something new every month. Season 1 is split across three stages, each adding new content to the game.

Rogue Ops is the first one, arriving with the season’s kick-off on October 28. This phase adds a new large-scale map called Blackwell Fields, which EA says will support land, and air vehicles. The map is set in/around an airbase in the California badlands.

We’re also getting Strikepoint, a new 4v4 mode where each player gets a single life. Rogue Ops will expand the game’s content further with three weapons – the SOR-300 carbine, Mini Fix sniper rifle, and GGH-22 sidearm – as well as a new APC.

Another unusual thing about Battlefield 6’s seasons is the fact that they’re going to add new attachments for use with its weapons. In the first phase of Season 1, we’re getting the Rail Cover, and the Low Powered Variable Optic (LPVO).

California Resistance takes over on November 18 with another new map, Eastwood. This is another large map, though it only supports land vehicles, and helicopters. Eastwood is another California-set map located around a suburb and a golf course.

The new mode in this phase is Sabotage, an 8v8 affair where teams race to destroy as many sites as they can before time runs out. Teams alternate between attacking and defending each round.

California Resistance introduces the Battle Pickups feature to Battlefield 6, which are superpowered weapons anyone can pick up and use. They’re often scattered around the maps in fixed locations, but come with limited ammo.

Speaking of weapons, you can look forward to another two new arrivals: the DB-12 shotgun, and the M327 Trait revolver sidearm. The attachment pool grows with the Troy Angled grip, too.

The last stage of Season 1 arrives December 9 with Winter Offensive, which has the least amount of content compared to the other two. Rather than a new map, the game’s Empire State launch map is getting covered in ice for a limited time as part of the Ice Lock event.

The developer says the event will introduce a new mechanic called Freeze. It doesn’t explain how it’s going to work, but it does confirm that it’s a gameplay modifier, so presumably it will be available in Portal. Speaking of which, all the new content being added will also be available for use in Portal experiences.

The only weapon getting added with that last phase is the Ice Climbing Axe, which joins the game’s melee weapons roster.

More details about Season 1 will arrive closer to launch, but it’s safe to say this is a nice salvo of content to kick-start the game’s live service journey. Battlefield 6 is out October 10 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Battlefield 6 Season 1 to bring new maps, modes, weapons, more

by admin October 1, 2025

The launch of Battlefield 6 is just the start. Season 1 is already being detailed as EA has revealed new maps, modes, gameplay features, and a whole lot more set to keep players engaged. Here’s the full rundown.

When Battlefield 6 hits store shelves on October 10, players will immediately have access to a surprisingly deep campaign, a litany of multiplayer maps, and down the line, a Battle Royale mode too. However, that’s just the beginning, as EA has made clear.

In the live-service era, games with a multiplayer slant are typically supported for months and even years after launch. That’s no different here with the next mainline entry in the juggernaut FPS franchise.

Battlefield 6 Season 1 has already been unveiled in full as EA looks to hook players for the long run. From the start date to all the new content on the way, here’s what you need to know.

Battlefield 6 Season 1 start date

Battlefield 6 Season 1 kicks off on Tuesday, October 28. There’s currently no word on an exact start time, but we’re sure to learn plenty more in the coming ways, so stay tuned on that.

Article continues after ad

Of note, however, while that’s the start date for Season 1 as a whole, there are two other crucial dates to keep in mind. Rather than deploying all new content in one fell swoop, devs are drip-feeding bits and pieces over the course of three months.

New maps, weapons, limited-time modes, and more will all trickle out over time. Below is the full breakdown so you know what to expect:

  • October 28, 2025 – Season 1 starts with the Rogue Ops update
  • November 18, 2025 – California Resistance update
  • December 9, 2025 – Winter Offensive update

#Battlefield6 Season 1 begins Oct. 28 on all platforms. Free content rolls out across the season in three phases ⤵️

Two new maps throughout Season 1

Topping the bill are two new maps set to shake things up throughout Season 1. On October 28 comes Blackwell Fields, a vast open map set in a recommissioned American air base. It will support all types of game modes, ranging from the biggest playlists down to the bite-sized encounters.

Next up on November 18 comes Eastwood, another large-scale map designed with mostly all playstyles in mind. Of note, this one won’t feature jets. Once again set in the US, this map takes us to the hills of Southern California.

Last but not least, presumably to get us in the holiday spirit, an existing map will be reskinned on December 9. Empire State will freeze over, presenting new “environmental threats”, as the official blog teased.

Six new weapons in Season 1

From new assault rifles to sidearms, there’s plenty of extra firepower coming your way as Season 1 rolls on. Six distinct weapons in total are on the docket, and they are as follows:

  • October 28 – Rogue Ops update
    • SOR-300SC – Carbine
    • GGH-22 – Sidearm
    • Mini Scout – Sniper Rifle
  • November 18 – California Resistance update
    • DB-12 – Shotgun
    • M357 Trait – Sidearm
  • December 9 – Winter Offensive update
    • Ice Climbing Axe – Melee Weapon

Three new modes in Season 1

Players will be able to equip and level up their gear in a series of new game modes arriving throughout Season 1 as well.

On October 28 comes Strikepoint, a much smaller Battlefield mode designed for 4v4, round-based gameplay. It sounds incredibly similar to Call of Duty’s popular Search and Destroy game type.

Article continues after ad

Next up on November 18, we have Sabotage joining the rotation. A mode built for 8v8 combat, this one is all about pushing the pace. Teams take turns on offense and defense, with a simple goal: Destroy more objectives than your opposition.

Article continues after ad

Last but not least comes a limited-time mode on December 9 known as Ice Lock. Here, gameplay hinges around a Freeze mechanic that will seemingly have enemies locked in place for a brief period, perhaps even vehicles too, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

Best Altcoins to Buy as Altcoin Season Is Ready for Q4 Explosion

by admin September 29, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

Q3 was supposed to be altcoin season, but it never really showed up. Aside from a handful of standouts, most tokens stalled, and the sharp sell-offs in late September left many traders questioning whether the rotation from $BTC into alts had fizzled.

Now, as Q4 begins, the charts are starting to tell a different story. Altcoin dominance looks eerily similar to 2017, when a flat curve suddenly gave way to a vertical breakout that defined the back half of the bull run.

The total crypto market cap excluding Bitcoin has also passed the $1.49T level, a zone that previously acted as resistance in 2021 before flipping into support. Historically, these kinds of retests mark the foundation for trend reversals.

The macro backdrop adds fuel to the setup. The Fed’s recent rate cuts loosen financial conditions, and with more expected, risk assets like altcoins have more room to run.

Meanwhile, regulatory clarity in the U.S. has been improving, with multiple altcoin ETF applications slated for decisions before year-end. If approved, those vehicles could unlock institutional liquidity that flows directly into the alt market.

Why does this matter? Because altcoin season is often the signal that the bull cycle has entered its second and most explosive leg. With only three months left in 2025, the conditions are aligning for a rotation that could mirror past cycles.

And if history is any guide, projects like Bitcoin Hyper ($HYPER), PepeNode ($PEPENODE), and Aster ($ASTER) are among the best altcoins traders are already watching closely as Q4 kicks off.

1. Bitcoin Hyper ($HYPER) – Scaling Bitcoin for the Next Wave

Bitcoin ($BTC) still dominates over 50% of the crypto market cap, but as a network it’s showing its age. Transactions are slow, fees remain high, and it’s not exactly built for dApps or meme coins.

Bitcoin Hyper ($HYPER) is stepping in to change that, positioning itself as the first real Bitcoin Layer 2 powered by the Solana Virtual Machine (SVM).

What does that mean in practice? Sub-second transactions and near-zero fees, all while anchoring security to Bitcoin Layer 1 through zero-knowledge proofs.

Builders can launch dApps, meme coins, and DeFi protocols on top of Bitcoin Hyper without worrying about congestion, while cross-chain interoperability connects $BTC seamlessly with $ETH, $SOL, and other ecosystems.

The token itself drives the system: $HYPER covers gas fees, staking, governance, and access to new launches. Early buyers also get priority access to staking and airdrops, which explains why whales have been piling in.

Learn how to buy Bitcoin Hyper in our step-by-step guide.

The presale has raised over $18.8M so far, with the tokens priced at just $0.012995 and staking yields of 63% APY. Our Bitcoin Hyper price prediction sees $HYPER possibly reaching a minimum of $0.4 by 2030.

$HYPER looks like one of those rare asymmetric bets that only come around once in a cycle.

Visit the Bitcoin Hyper presale website today.

2. PEPENODE ($PEPENODE) – Gamified Meme Coin Mining

Meme coins have always been the life of altseason, but most projects stop at ‘buy and hold.’ PEPENODE ($PEPENODE) takes a different approach with the first mine-to-earn model, turning meme coin speculation into a gamified ecosystem.

Instead of chasing passive gains, holders build out virtual server rooms that act as mining rigs. You buy Mining Nodes, configure them for optimal yield, and climb the leaderboards against other players.

Alt text: PEPENODE ($PEPENODE) mine-to-earn meme coin.

Not happy with your setup? You can sell nodes anytime to reclaim liquidity. The kicker: top performers earn extra rewards in trending crypto coins like $PEPE and $FARTCOIN, creating a feedback loop between culture and competition.

Presale numbers suggest it could be one of the best crypto presales of the year, as $PEPENODE has already raised over $1.51M. Tokens are priced at $0.0010788, with our PEPENODE price prediction forecasting around a 2X from current prices in 2025.

Early stakers are also seeing eye-watering yields of 874% while waiting for the full launch of the mining platform. Read our how to buy PEPENODE guide to get your share of APY.

The USP here is accessibility. No hardware, no power bills, no technical barriers. Just virtual mining with a competitive edge and meme coin incentives drilled in. By combining staking, gamification, and meme culture, PEPENODE offers something stickier than most meme coins.

With altcoin season rotations historically favoring meme coins with utility, $PEPENODE feels built for the moment.

Visit the PEPENODE presale now.

3. Aster ($ASTER) – The DEX Challenger Backed by CZ

Perpetual trading has exploded into one of the fastest-growing corners of DeFi, with daily volumes reaching $109B across protocols. Among them, Aster ($ASTER) is quickly climbing to the front of the pack.

According to data, Aster recently overtook Hyperliquid in not just 24-hour volume (with a whopping $85.49B), but 7-day and even 30-day volume. Pretty impressive for a project that launched less than two weeks ago.

Source: DefiLlama

What sets it apart? Aster is built for multi-chain, supporting BNB, Ethereum, Solana, and more. It also introduces ‘hidden orders,’ a feature that allows traders to place invisible limit orders – a rare level of privacy in an industry where most order books are transparent by design.

That mix of liquidity and stealth has attracted both high-volume traders and DeFi enthusiasts. The project’s credibility is reinforced by its backers. YZi Labs (formerly Binance Labs) holds a stake, and Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) has publicly endorsed Aster on X.

Market data shows $ASTER trading at $1.84 with a $3.05B market cap. Its FDV of around $15 represents a massive leap from just $560M at its Token Generation Event (TGE).

If altseason sparks a flood of liquidity into DeFi infrastructure, $ASTER is well-positioned to capture a commanding slice.

Read about Aster’s tokenomics.

Together, $HYPER, $PEPENODE, and $ASTER each capture a different slice of the altcoin season narrative – Bitcoin scalability, gamified meme-coin culture, and DeFi infrastructure. If Q4 lives up to the setup, these could be among the projects leading the charge.

As always, this article does not constitute financial advice. Please do your own research (DYOR) before investing in cryptocurrencies, as markets remain volatile and unpredictable.

Zenless Zone Zero 2.3 takes full advantage of the new Spook Shack faction for its Halloween season

Zenless Zone Zero 2.3 takes full advantage of the new Spook Shack faction for its Halloween season

by admin September 29, 2025

If you’ve been enjoying the politics-filled 2.2 update for Zenless Zone Zero, which came out earlier this month, you’re probably on your way to finishing the new content. Which means, of course, it’s time for the next update to reveal itself.

Version 2.3, Memories of Dreams Bygone, was officially unveiled today, and it’s going to arrive on October 15 – so in about two weeks from now.

Zenless Zone Zero’s Version 2.3 immediately addresses one of the criticisms players had with earlier installments of Version 2, which revolved around the lack of the lack of Rupture characters in its banner events. 2.3 is adding three new Agents to the roster: Lucia, Yidhari, and Komano Manato.

Lucia is an S-Rank Ether Support Agent, who’s very much into the Ethereal. Her kit reflects that, too, because she can recreate Ethereals in combat. She calls on Dream Points to enter a Dream state and unleash Ether Veil: Wellspring, which boosts the max HP of all allies, and increases the team’s Sheer Force and Aftershock frequency.

Yidhari is another S-Rank Agent, only she’s the Rupture one fans have been missing. Her Ice attacks always deal Sheer damage, and she gains Sheer Force based on her max HP. Interestingly, however, Yidhari deals more damage the lower her HP is, which adds an element of risk/reward to her kit.

Komano Manato is the only A-Rank addition, joining as a Fire Rupture Agent. Likewise, his Sheer damage scales with his max HP. As far as returning favourites, Version 2.3 will bring back Vivian (S-Rank, Ether – Anomaly), as well as Ju Fufu (S-Rank, Fire – Stun) as part of its banners.

Watch on YouTube

In this chapter, you’ll get to visit Timesworn Hills, and team up with Spook Shack. The new region – and the update itself – very much share the spooky theme of abandoned research facilities where tales of experiments going awry are buried.

The narrative kicks off like a few good Halloween mysteries: a missing person’s case. Some miners and Porcelumex employees have gone missing, and you’re being sent in to investigate. Timesworn Hills is also rich in Lumite ore.

Memories of Dreams Bygone is bringing some gameplay changes to Soldier 0 – Anby, who’s getting a buff alongside some tweaks to her combat. You can also look forward to Threshold Simulation as a new challenge activity that tests your stamina by throwing you in back-to-back battles.

Zenless Zone Zero is getting a hint of turn-based combat in this update, too, with the arrival of the When Dreams Remain Unfinished event. In it, you’ll get to play as monsters with unique abilities. You’d want to play it, too, because completing the event guarantees getting Agent Komano Manato.

Photography event SNAP! Shining Strike returns as well, and it now offers more camera controls, filters, and frames.

As part of today’s news, we also got a glimpse at future Agents Banyue, Dialyn, Zhao, and Ye Shunguang, who HoYoverse said will be joining the game in “the near future.” Finally, if you log in during 2.3, you’ll get 600 Polychromes alongside 10 Encrypted Master Tapes, and 10 Boopons.

Before you go, it’s always a good idea to catch up on our updated Zenless Zone Zero codes. If you’re in a fighting mode, you may also jump into the comments of our Zenless Zone Zero character tier list and argue your case.

Alien: Earth season 2 release date prediction

Don’t look so concerned, Wendy – I’m sure Alien: Earth season 2 will be announced soon (Image credit: FX Networks)

Predictably, with the series yet to be renewed, Alien: Earth season 2’s release date hasn’t been revealed. Hawley has discussed the prospect of a sequel season, though, so let’s see what he had to say.

Chatting to Polygon, Hawley stated he was “pretty confident” that the cast and crew would “get to make more [seasons]”. And in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter (THR), Hawley expressed his hope that he’d learn if FX Networks wants to make another installment before the end of 2025.

On the basis that Alien: Earth is renewed, it’ll be some time before we get to see it. Speaking to Variety, Hawley revealed that no script work had been carried out, but he and his writing team were ready to go if and when a season 2 announcement is made. Additionally, Hawley told ScreenRant that he doesn’t want the series to be off the air for too long.

That said, given it’ll take months for those scripts to be penned, and then, at my estimate, at least 12 to 18 months to complete pre-production, film the next eight-part season, and carry out its lengthy post-production phase, I’d be amazed if Alien: Earth is back on our screens before mid to late 2027.

Alien: Earth season 2 trailer: is there one?

No. Alien: Earth hasn’t even been renewed for a second season, let alone begun filming, so it’ll be a long time before a trailer is released. Once one is, I’ll update this section.

Alien: Earth season 2 cast: who’s likely to return?

Wendy and Joe are nailed on to return in a possible second season (Image credit: FX Networks)

Full spoilers follow for Alien: Earth season 1.

Based on how last season ended, here’s who I expect to see if a second season is greenlit:

You may like

  • Sydney Chandler as Wendy
  • Alex Lawther as Joe ‘C.J.’ Hermit
  • Samuel Blenkin as Boy Kavalier
  • Babou Ceesay as Morrow
  • Timothy Olyphant as Kirsh
  • Essie Davis as Dame Sylvia
  • David Rysdahl as Arthur Sylvia
  • Adarsh Gourav as Slightly
  • Erana James as Curly
  • Lily Newhart as Nibs
  • Jonathan Ajayi as Smee
  • Adrian Edmondson as Atom Eins
  • Sandra Yi Sencindiver as Yutani

The only supporting characters who won’t return for another trip to Prodigy’s Neverland research facility are Diem Camille’s Siberian, Moe Bar-El’s Rashidi, and Kit Young’s Isaac/Tootles. The last one was killed by acid-spitting fly-like creatures in episode 6, while the other two were bumped off by the carnivorous plant-like monster that broke out of its laboratory confinement cell in the season 1 finale.

It’s possible that newcomers could be added to the Hulu and Disney+ show’s cast. For instance, it would be good to see the CEOs of Earth’s three other megacorporations – Threshold, Dynamic, and Lynch – make appearances. Their debuts in Alien: Earth season 2 are dependent on what direction the plot takes, though. Speaking of which…

Alien: Earth season 2 story speculation

What’ll become of Boy Kavalier in season 2? (Image credit: FX Networks)

Major spoilers follow for Alien: Earth‘s first season.

Alien: Earth season 2’s plot synopsis doesn’t exist yet. However, there’s stuff we can infer about it, thanks to its predecessor’s final episode.

I already covered many of the biggest talking points in my Alien: Earth season 1 ending explained piece, but let’s expand further on them with a little help from Hawley.

Let’s start with the Hybrids now ruling the roost at Prodigy HQ. With Boy, Dame, Morrow, Kirsh, and Atom all locked up and watched over by the xenomorphs under Wendy’s control, all seems well for Wendy and her fellow robot-humans (if they can be labeled as such).

However, it appears that their successful revolt will be short-lived. Weyland-Yutani forces are on their way to reclaim the dangerous alien lifeforms that Prodigy stole from them early in season 1. Will Prodigy’s rival take back what’s theirs and – potentially – the Hybrids, too? Or will Wendy and company steadfastly refuse to turn in themselves and the aliens?

Dame Sylvia is one of many Prodigy employees (and one from Weyland-Yutani) who are jailed in last season’s finale (Image credit: FX Networks)

Then there’s the worry that the xenomorphs could perform their own mini-revolution and rail against Wendy. Right now, she knows how to control them, and many fans believe they see her as their ‘queen’. Nevertheless, will her hold over them last? In conversation with Variety, Hawley suggested not, saying: “those of us who know xenomorphs are like ‘Well, maybe they can be controlled for a period of time…'”. Don’t be shocked, then, if Wendy’s pets eventually start disobeying their master.

Xenomorphs aren’t the only bioweapons Wendy and the gang have to contend with. The flesh-eating plant alien is now loose somewhere on the island. Meanwhile, everyone’s favorite eyeball monster – aka Trypanohyncha Ocellus, aka The Eye – is not only free, but has also taken over Arthur’s corpse following his death in episode 7. What will The Eye be able to do with Arthur’s body while it’s still in some usable state? And, once it’s too decomposed to be functional, will The Eye try to track down a new human host?

Will the xenomorphs continue to play nice with Wendy and company? (Image credit: FX Networks/Disney+)

On top of the numerous story strands left dangling after last season’s finale, there’s also the question about how Alien: Earth ties into two of the best movies in the Alien franchise. Those being, 1979’s Alien and 1986’s Aliens.

Speaking to TechRadar prior to the show’s two-episode premiere, Hawley and executive producer David W. Zucker confirmed Alien: Earth wouldn’t fully treat the Alien prequel movies as canon. Essentially, that means 2012’s Prometheus and 2017’s Alien: Covenant wouldn’t impact the story they wanted to tell with Alien: Earth.

However, with this series set in 2120, i.e., just two years before Alien, the former can’t necessarily ignore the lead-up to the 1979 original. So, how could Alien: Earth establish events to come in the franchise’s inaugural installment?

“I think there are bridges that you cross right when you come to them,” Hawley told Variety. “A big part of the world-building and the act of creation on these first eight episodes was to build something that was coherent to itself, that worked within the construct of… the first two movies. In a season 2 and beyond, then we really need to dig down and start to think about how these two stories are going to cohere together in the long term.”

And what of this TV show’s own ending? Whether it happens in Alien: Earth season 2 or not, Hawley told the Evolution of Horror YouTube channel: “I have a destination in mind story-wise, which allows me to know what the story is I’m telling, what it means. And I don’t know how long it takes to get there, but I do have a sense of where we’ll go.”

If, for whatever reason, FX chooses not to move forward with another season of Alien: Earth, Hawley said (via Polygon) of the prospect of the series’ open-ended nature: “A big part of what I try to do as a visual storyteller is always to engage the audience’s imagination. Too much of what we watch treats us as passive viewers. So, if the worst thing that happens is that the audience has to finish this story, I trust them to come up with some good ways to go forward”. Prepare to come up with your own canon ending, then, just in case Alien: Earth is a one-and-done situation.

Will there be more seasons of Alien: Earth?

How many seasons of Alien: Earth will characters like Morrow appear in? (Image credit: FX Networks/Hulu/Disney+)

We shouldn’t jump the gun about future seasons when a second one hasn’t been greenlit. Nevertheless, Hawley has expressed interest in making more than two installments if the opportunity arises.

In July, Hawley implied (via comicbook.com) that Alien: Earth could run for five seasons. However, he walked back that claim when talking to THR, saying, “I wouldn’t read too much into that”, before also telling Entertainment Weekly: “We always discussed it as a recurring series. I have a sense of where the journey goes in the long run, but I don’t necessarily know how long it’ll take me to get there.”

How many installments it takes to complete the sci-fi horror show’s overarching narrative, then, remains to be seen. Regardless of whether Alien: Earth season 2, its forebear, or another entry brings it to a close, we’ll be seated for every one of its chapters.

Peacemaker Season 2 needs to answer a big ‘Earth X’ question about Superman

by admin September 26, 2025

It’s official: the alternate dimension in Peacemaker Season 2 is ‘Earth X’ (or a version of it), and now that’s been revealed, we need to talk about Superman. Spoilers to follow…

Until Episode 6, everything seemed so much better in the other world. Chris’ dad is nice and caring, his brother is still alive, Harcourt is in love with him, and Peacemaker didn’t murder Rick Flag Jr.

However, as many have predicted, its dark secret has been revealed: it’s Earth X, a parallel universe where the Nazis won World War II. That means there’s a swastika on the American flag instead of stars and there aren’t any people of color walking on the streets (it remains terrifyingly unclear where they are, if there are any at all).

So, everyone is a Nazi, and the Top Trio are beloved superheroes. Where does that leave other characters… like Superman?

Will Peacemaker Season 2 include Overman?

DC

Peacemaker has yet to reveal if there are any parallel versions of other DCU characters, like Lex Luthor or Rick Flag. However, now we know that it’s Earth X, the show could include a Superman cameo with a shocking twist.

In the comics, Earth X has its own version of Superman: Overman, also known as Kal-L. His origins are very similar: he comes from Krypton, his parents send him to Earth, but he lands in Sudetenland instead of Kansas, and he ends up becoming the most powerful ‘hero’ at the helm of the Fourth Reich.

“My rocket from Krypton arrived in a field in the occupied Sudetenland in 1938. German rocket scientists retro-engineered the technology Herr Hitler used to win the war, and I… I and my kind inherited a Utopia built on human suffering. Mine is not any world you know,” he says in the comics.

It’s been widely speculated that Corenswet will appear in Season 2, especially after John Cena posted a selfie with him from the set. Gunn has also teased “one really, really, really big cameo near the end of the show.”

To be clear, Corenswet’s normal Superman could still appear; if Chris returns to his own world, what better way to make him feel welcome than the world’s mightiest hero patting him on the back?

However, it’s hard to deny how effective (and scary) it’d be to see Corenswet as a Nazi version of the Man of Steel, even if it’s brief.

“It’ll be peak if we see David Corenswet as Overman in the finale,” one viewer wrote. “This is gonna sound crazy but hear me out, I need an Overman appearance in Peacemaker so f**king bad,” another commented.

Does Arisu die in Alice in Borderland Season 3? Cliffhanger ending explained

by admin September 26, 2025

Alice in Borderland Season 3 sees Arisu and Usagi enter another round of deadly games. With so many twists and a shocking cliffhanger ending, here’s what you need to know if Arisu dies.

The third chapter of the Netflix series moves beyond Haro Aso’s manga, meaning new games and new characters, including the mysterious Ryuji Matsuyama (Kento Kaku), who draws Usagi (Tao Tsuchiya) back into the Borderland.

Sadly, fan favorites like Chishiya (Nijirō Murakami) and Kuina (Aya Asahina) aren’t back for the games, although there is a surprise for viewers at the end.

As for Arisu (Kento Yamazaki), it should come as no surprise that he heads back into the world he escaped from to save his wife. He would sacrifice his life for Usagi, but does he? Warning: spoilers ahead!

Does Arisu die in Alice in Borderland Season 3?

Netflix

No, you’ll be pleased to know that both Arisu and Usagi survive after clearing the Joker games, as does their baby, with the pair discussing the name for their unborn child in the final act.

Their peace is soon interrupted by an almighty twist (more on that shortly), but for now, they’re alive and well.

It’s touch and go for a moment in the Alice in Borderland Season 3 finale when the team plays ‘Possible Futures’ – a game in which they roll a dice and move between different rooms within a grid to reach the exit.

There are plenty of rules that raise the stakes. For instance, the number on the dice indicates how many players can move into the next room, they have to choose between variants of their futures, and if their 15 points reach zero, they’re eliminated (aka killed).

The question of Arisu’s survival comes up as he decides in the final round to sacrifice himself to save the rest of the team – including Usagi and their unborn child.

However, there’s a twist: it turns out that by sacrificing himself, he’s won the game. While trapped in the room, he sees Usagi, Ryuji, and the remaining players in a fake Tokyo as it collapses around them and starts to flood.

Against all odds, Arisu manages to save the team, aside from Usagi and Ryuji. When he goes back for his wife, he’s faced with Banda – one of two players who decided to stay in the Borderland after the Queen of Hearts was defeated in Season 2.

Banda is the whole reason Arisu is back in this place. He believes Arisu is the best player and so he drew him in by using Usagi as bait – essentially for his own entertainment.

In their final confrontation, Arisu says he’ll never accept his offer to stay and Banda goes to shoot him, thereby killing Arisu in the real world. But just before he pulls the trigger, he’s eliminated by the infamous beam of light.

A mysterious new character enters: the Watchman, played by none other than Ken Watanabe. His arrival sees time itself stand still, with the Watchman inviting Arisu to one final game.

Netflix

This involves two cards placed face down on a table. If Arisu picks the Joker, the Watchman gets to choose his fate.

When Arisu discovers both cards are Jokers, the Watchman gives him the choice: jump into the vortex and die, knowing that he’ll be back here one day and that death means no more suffering, or live and endure the pain that life brings.

Arisu chooses to return to the land of the living with Usagi, at which point time starts up again and he hears Usagi screaming. He’s able to find and save her, but Ryuji lets himself get sucked into the vortex while his real-life body flat-lines.

Usagi and Arisu survive and are seen preparing for their baby in the real world. But this is Alice in Borderland we’re talking about, and so of course there’s a twist.

Season 3 cliffhanger ending explained

Netflix

Right at the end of Alice in Borderland Season 3, the world is about to be rocked by a prophetic natural disaster, with the camera closing in on a waitress in LA who is wearing a name tag: “Alice”.

Article continues after ad

You see, during his conversation with Arisu, the Watchman claims that the space between life and death will soon be “flooded with many people” as something terrible will happen in the real world – something “much, much bigger” than the meteorite disaster.

Article continues after ad

It’s hard to tell if this is just the Watchman trying to mess with his head (it wouldn’t be the first time in the Borderland), and Arisu thinks nothing of it when he makes it back home with Usagi.

However, after Arisu conducts a series of interviews with previous players – including Chishiya and Kuina – he heads back to his office when all of a sudden an earthquake hits.

They decide to switch on the news, where it’s revealed that unprecedented seismic activity has been recorded in regions across the planet, including in Japan, Europe, and the US.

Alice in Borderland then pulls a Squid Game and cuts to America, where two men enter a bar and order a couple of drinks. The waitress, whose face isn’t shown, heads back to the bar and turns around, at which point the camera closes in on her name badge.

Article continues after ad

So, what exactly does this mean? Well, firstly, we’re probably getting a Season 4. Secondly, the Watchman was correct – a disaster unlike anything the planet has ever seen is coming.

Article continues after ad

It opens up a whole new world for the Netflix show, one in which we could see hundreds, if not thousands of new players entering the space between life and death.

But one big question you’ll no doubt have is: who the hell is Alice?

Netflix

Up until now, the “Alice” in the title comes from Arisu. His surname is a Japanese rendering of “Alice,” and the title is a play on Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

Article continues after ad

Given the series makes a point of showing us a woman named Alice, and an unprecedented natural disaster is set to impact the region she’s in the most, this could be seen as a setup for an American spinoff.

But like Squid Game’s ending, it’s unclear whether this is the true intention or if the creators simply wanted to end the series with an entertaining twist. Whatever the case, the cast and crew are game for more from this world – just keep in mind that no plans are set in stone right now.

In a recent interview, the Radio Times asked director Shinsuke Sato about the potential for future seasons, to which he replied, “If you’re asking me whether I’d be interested or not, I would certainly say yes.”
