This year’s Counter-Strike 2 event at the Esports World Cup (EWC) has begun. 16 teams from all over the globe have participated, and only one will be crowned the champions of EWC 2025.

The opening games have been nothing short of exhilarating. NAVI, the winners of EWC 2024, were eliminated right in the first match by 3DMAX, while G2 Esports were made to head back home by Team Falcons on Aug. 21.

At the time of writing, quarterfinals, semi-finals, third place match, and the grand final remain. So, here’s everything you need to know about the CS2 Esports World Cup 2025 schedule, competing teams, and more.

CS2 Esports World Cup 2025 start and end dates

The CS2 Esports World Cup 2025 playoffs will run from Aug 20 to 24. The tournament features a single-elimination format.

A total of 16 teams are taking part in the CS2 Esports World Cup 2025. While 15 teams are chosen based on the June 2025 Valve Regional Standings (VRS), the last slot is reserved for the Asian Champions League 2025 winner.

The Schedule 1 recipe calculator is a cool user-generated tool that can be useful for beginners and veterans alike.

While the game has three base drugs, you can mix them with different items to manufacture unique strains. The strains add new effects and raise the value of your products. But not all mixes are built the same, and that’s where the recipe calculator comes in.

What is the Schedule 1 recipe calculator?

A recipe calculator helps you discover a lot more recipes, and some will even increase the amount of profits you get from selling a product. There are several options available over the internet, but this is the one that I use on a personal basis.

The most important feature you can get is the recipes, as many users have already shared amazing recipes that they have unearthed on their saves. The following section will give you an idea on what you can do with the tool.

How to use the Schedule 1 recipe calculator

The exact usage will depend on which recipe calculator you’re using. However, some functions are common for any good calculator.

  • Database of recipes that other users have found. You can use them to produce the same strains on your own and sell them.
  • Experiment with what strains can be made with different ingredients before you actually make them inside the game. This will save you the trouble of buying the wrong ingredients/producing the wrong strains.
  • Know more about the best strains available inside the game so that you can maximize your profits.
  • Some calculators also allow a reverse calculation method. If you have noticed a popular strain, try to trace the ingredients required for it.

  • The Mix Calculator section allows you to create strains before actually making them inside the game.
  • The Reverse Calculator provides you with the recipe for a final product.
  • The All Mixes section has all the recipes uploaded by the players. You can sort them based on their base variants (drugs), number of Mixers used and more. You can also rank them based on their likes (to have an understanding on which recipe works) to know which one works better.
  • The Most Upvoted Mixes is an extension of the above, and provides you information for the absolutely best recipes currently available.
  • While creating an account on the website isn’t mandatory, doing so will allow you to share the recipes you create, and add some of the community creations to your favorites.

A recipe calculator makes your Schedule 1 life easier and maximizes your profits. While there isn’t an official product available, the community-based tools are quite amazing to use, and most of them are updated regularly to support all the available recipes in the game.

Dota 2 PGL Wallachia Season 5: Schedule, brackets, and more

PGL Wallachia Season 5 is set to be the last tier one Dota 2 championship before the Esports World Cup and The International 2025. This tournament will be the last chance for all the top teams to get some practice before diving into the two biggest championships of the year that the Dota 2 esports scene has to offer.

Earlier, PGL had revealed a full list of Dota 2 championships, spanning till 2028, each of which will feature a million-dollar prize pool, including Wallachia Season 5. The upcoming tournament is expected to be played out on a subpatch for 7.39 after it was released in the middle of DreamLeague Season 26 on May 23.

Dota 2 PGL Wallachia Season 5 schedule and format

Although PGL has yet to release the schedule and format for Wallachia Season 5, the organiser has confirmed that the tournament will kick off on June 21 and will run through June 29. While the structure has yet to be confirmed by PGL, judging by previous iterations of the tournament, it is expected that the championship will feature a Swiss-system group stage, followed by playoffs.

After the group stage, the bottom eight teams will be eliminated, while the top eight teams will compete in the playoffs. We will ensure that this section is updated with the latest schedules and results as soon as PGL releases them.

Where to watch Dota 2 PGL Wallachia Season 5

PGL Wallachia Season 5 will be live-streamed and co-streamed across multiple channels on Twitch and YouTube. However, the official streams will happen from PGL’s Dota 2 Twitch channel. Additionally, all of the VODs from the tournament matches are available on the official PGL Dota 2 YouTube channel.

A new patch in Schedule 1 means plenty of new additions and tweaks.

Schedule 1 recently received a new update, and Patch v0.3.6 includes several changes, including one that the community has been requesting for a long time. Now you can transfer your employees between your various properties to get the highest possible efficiency for your business empire.

Apart from that new feature, this update includes several other changes, as well as numerous tweaks and bug fixes that will significantly enhance the in-game quality of life. TVGS has also confirmed that the infrastructure for the community voting system is now in place, and the first vote is expected to occur soon through the in-game main menu.

Update v0.3.5 introduced numerous new additions, as well as several bug fixes and tweaks. Similarly, Patch v0.3.6 also features numerous additions, as well as quality-of-life changes. The developer has also confirmed that it has taken them longer than expected to release this patch. Having said that, here are all the changes and additions to Schedule 1 with update v0.3.6.

All new additions

There are three major new additions in Schedule 1 with this update. These additions are:

  • Added lockers. These work as a replacement for employee beds. However, all your previous saves with assigned beds will still exist, while you will be able to use lockers moving forward, even in those saved worlds.
  • Added filters for items slots, allowing you to whitelist or blacklist items on specific slots to ensure your employees place all their items in their respective slots.
  • Introduced the option to transfer employees across your various properties.

The full list of tweaks and bug fixes in Patch v0.3.6 for Schedule 1 includes plenty of changes that will improve your in-game experience. These changes are:

  • Increased storage unit employee capacity to 3.
  • Consolidated all NPC save files.
  • Consolidated property save files.
  • Consolidated business save files.
  • Changed the trash can pickup area to be square instead of circular.
  • The trash can pickup area is now visible while you’re placing the trash can.
  • Fixed occasional NPC long-distance pathing failures.
  • Fixed occasional employee pathing failures.
  • Fixed employees sometimes attempting to pick up items that they don’t have the inventory capacity for.
  • Fixed botanist-related performance issue.
  • Fixed police showing question marks above their heads while they’re unconscious.
  • Fixed viewmodel drifting.
  • Fixed an incorrect statement regarding how dealers are unlocked.

Most of the changes featured in Schedule 1 update v0.3.6 were already confirmed to be in the works with the patch notes for v0.3.5. Although the patch notes have not confirmed what the future holds, Tyler, the developer of the game, has confirmed that they are “excited to get back into the swing of things and get to work on the first major Schedule 1 update.”

Additionally, the first community vote is scheduled to be held on this patch, allowing players to express their opinions through a voting prompt available on the main menu once the vote goes live.

The forces behind the astonishing success of drug dealing simulator Schedule I

Schedule I is one of the most surprising success stories of 2025. TVGS’ drug manufacturing and dealing simulator rocketed to the top of Steam’s Global Top Sellers when it released in late March, and has remained among the bestselling games on the platform ever since.

More remarkable still, Schedule I was created by a solo developer with minimal marketing budget.

How, then, did Schedule I navigate a fiercely competitive Steam market, which in March saw major releases like Split Fiction and Assassin’s Creed Shadows alongside dozens of indie games, to become one of 2025’s biggest hits? The answer is a combination of an appealing theme, a potent mix of mechanics that appeal to numerous audiences, broader shifts in player tastes, and good old-fashioned luck.

The most obvious contributing factor to Schedule I’s success is its subject matter. A game about building a criminal empire through the manufacture and distribution of drugs, Schedule I blends business management, open world exploration, driving, and combat all linked together through the theme of criminality.

In this manner, Schedule I bears many surface similarities to Grand Theft Auto, which likely played into its appeal. “With Grand Theft Auto 6 on the horizon – albeit delayed until May 2026 – players are eager for something to fill that space, and indie developers are much faster at responding to trends than larger gaming companies,” says Katie Holt, senior research analyst at Ampere Analysis.

Indeed, players have been waiting for a new Grand Theft Auto for more than a decade, and few games have attempted to fill the gap left by Rockstar across that period. This is very different from twenty years ago, when GTA had numerous imitators (like the Saints Row and True Crime series) that aspired to carve a slice of its criminal empire.

“[Crime] is a subject matter that many major publishers steer clear of, despite Grand Theft Auto proving that there is a massive opportunity for more gritty gameplay experiences,” Holt observes.

Yet while Schedule I shares a theme and some broader systems with GTA that may have attracted some fans of Rockstar’s games, it’s built upon different foundations. Schedule I is all about the process of drug dealing, featuring detailed systems for manufacturing various narcotics and a comprehensive management layer for controlling the day-to-day operation of your business.

Part GTA, part sim

This enabled Schedule I to capture another significant Steam audience, simulation enthusiasts. “Schedule I has a great twist on the ‘first-person levelling-up’ simulator grind,” says Simon Carless, founder of GameDiscoverCo. “Since Supermarket Simulator unlocked a perfect combo of resource management and small business grind in February 2024, there’s been a series of ‘simulator’ games that are easy and intuitive to control, and have the gameplay loop dialled-in. Schedule I is really a continuation of this.”

Crucially, Schedule I’s simulation is rich enough to appeal to sim lovers, but it isn’t so interactively detailed as to put off players who come to it for GTA-style criminal shenanigans. Its drug manufacturing process is presented as a sequence of fun, highly tactile minigames, while its art-style is cartoonish and lighthearted.

“PlayWay-adjacent hit Drug Dealer Simulator always felt more grim and fiddlier than Schedule I, which has South Park-ish characters and wit. So there’s just something that’s a bit more intuitive and mass market about it,” Carless adds.

Alongside the underlying quality of the game and the overlapping audiences it is able to court, Schedule I may also have benefited from a broader shift in gaming tastes. “Over the past couple of years, we have seen viral hits made by smaller developers pop up all over. Balatro, Content Warning, Lethal Company, Chained Together, etc,” says Michael Wagner, Senior Market Analyst at Newzoo.

“There have also been notably fewer AAA titles (outside of the annual release titles like Call of Duty and EA FC) that have been showing up since 2023. This may be creating more breathing room for these types of titles to get in front of more players.”

All three analysts agree that a key element in Schedule I’s success is the inclusion of cooperative play. “Having a robust co-op mode can aid in the longevity of a title, particularly when a strong community is built around it,” Holt explains. Wagner further points out that like many co-op games, Schedule I has a relatively low price point. “These titles are often more accessible from a price perspective ($20 and less), particularly for co-op games, making it easier for entire friend groups to pick up copies and play together.”

Carless, meanwhile, notes that Schedule I has been “getting a lot of added juice and influencer reach from super-entertaining co-op gameplay. Your favorite streamers hiding in a dumpster from the cops? It’s a big multiplier of interest.” Indeed, without any coordinated marketing, Schedule I has relied on viral sharing to attract its huge audience.

“The significance of virality cannot be overstated, it has the potential to put a title in front of millions of players, something that is simply out of budget for many indie developers,” Holt says.

She points out that several large streamers played the title, with a CaseOh stream peaking at over 78k views on Twitch [according to Twitch Tracker] and a Penguinz0 video reaching over 1.7m views on YouTube. Tiktok was also a significant source of attention for Schedule I. As of May 12, 82,000 posts were made using the hashtag ‘schedule1’.

Of course, there are no guarantees as to whether or not a game will go viral. “It often takes an incredible amount of luck for a game like Schedule I to make a pop like it has,” Wagner notes. “A big streamer happens upon it and gives it reach. Maybe it gets picked up by the TikTok algorithm.

But sometimes, it is just the right game at the right time.” Holt, though, points out that viral success is “part luck and part skill: Schedule I would not have gone viral without its unique combination of mechanics and solid gameplay loop.”

There is one other key element to Schedule I’s viral spread: its demo. In December 2024, roughly four months before Schedule I released into Steam early access, TVGS offered a ‘Free Sample’ demo that exploded in popularity prior to the game’s launch.

“Schedule I’s ‘Free Sample’ demo started blowing up with influencers at the beginning of March,” Carless explains. “The game made GameDiscoverCo’s unreleased Steam ‘trending’ chart multiple times [that] month. So it wasn’t a complete surprise if you’d been looking at CCU for unreleased Steam game demos.”

All of this contributed to making Schedule I an instant hit. What remains to be seen is the longevity of that success. While the game remains high on Steam’s list of Global Top Sellers, it has dropped down the rankings slightly over recent weeks. Player counts have also dwindled significantly in the last month.

This isn’t unusual for a game with a limited amount of playability, however. Moreover, Schedule I is unfinished, with TVGS planning regular updates to the game for several years before it is complete. Given its existing audience, a consistent run of updates could well maintain Schedule I’s success for years to come.

Xbox Games Showcase & The Outer Worlds 2 Direct – June 8

Microsoft will be hosting its big summer event during the traditional Sunday slot it’s held dating back to the height of E3. Since then, the tech giant has gobbled up half the video game industry and started taking its first-party releases multiplatform. Its 2025 Xbox Games Showcase will likely contain updates on things like the next Fable, Gears of War, and Call of Duty, with a second mini-showcase dedicated entirely to The Outer Worlds 2 set to take place afterwards. While the company is rumored to have backed off making a dedicated gaming handheld, an Xbox-branded version of the next Asus Rog Ally will probably get unveiled during the event this weekend.

PC Gaming Show – June 8

The PC Gaming Show hosted by Sean “Day9″ Plott returns with the perfect livestream to find out what’s coming next in the world of PC gaming-ass genres like real-time strategy and assembly line crafting sims. Is there a June Nintendo Direct?

Nintendo has traditionally held some sort of event in June to tease its summer games and fall lineup, but you might have heard that it’s currently in the middle of launching the Switch 2. Current rumors are that the Mario maker has no Nintendo Directs scheduled for this month, though things could always change. In the meantime, fans will have Mario Kart World and a cornucopia of Switch 2 ports to feast on later this week when the new console arrives.

Where is Sony’s big summer showcase?

Sony is also MIA at the moment. Having abandoned E3 long before it was dead, the company has been especially quiet in the PlayStation 5 era, rarely tipping its hand about upcoming projects and news. The last Sony summer showcase was in May 2023, with the company skipping last year and dividing up its announcements among smaller State of Play livestreams. The rumor is currently that Sony will be hosting some sort of smaller showcase in June, though the exact timing is still unclear. With Death Stranding 2 just around the corner and Marathon and Ghost of Yotei due out this fall, it’s already a big year for first-party PlayStation games, though what the rest of the studios have cooking amid a live-service strategy that never panned out remains a mystery.

DreamLeague Season 26 will be the last chance for teams to qualify for this year’s Dota 2 championship in the Esports World Cup 2025. With 29,200 EPT Points available for teams to secure qualification to EWC, the qualified teams have everything to play for. Every team’s performance in this tournament will also play a big part in receiving an invite to The International 2025.

Dota 2 DreamLeague Season 26 schedule and format

Similar to previous iterations of DreamLeague, Season 26 will feature two separate group stages before heading to the playoffs. The first group stage will kick off on May 19, 2025, from where the top eight teams will make their way into the second group stage, while the bottom eight teams will be eliminated from the tournament.

A total of four teams will make their way into the playoffs after the second group stage, as the top two placed teams will fight it out in the upper-bracket final for a spot in the Grand Final. However, the third and fourth-placed teams from the second group stage will start their playoff journey from the lower-bracket semi-final, while all the teams placed between fifth and eighth in the second group stage will be eliminated after this point.

All the matches from the first group stage featured best-of-twos, and teams have moved on to the next round based on their performances. The second group stage features eight teams playing best-of-threes against each other, with the top two teams making it into the upper bracket, and the third and fourth placed teams into the lower bracket while the bottom four teams are eliminated from the tournament.
