Look inside Adin Ross’ new $25m home that broke sales records

by admin June 18, 2025

Adin Ross has purchased a $25 million home in Davie, Florida, and it’s actually a bit of a record-breaker for the Sunshine State.

For years, streaming and content creation has been as an incredibly lucrative career path. If you strike it big, you could easily buy a nice car and house, but we have seen some incredibly flashy purchases at times as well.

In the case of Adin Ross, he regularly splashes out on designer clothes, private jet trips, and cars – including an eight-car strong collection worth over $1 million.

Now, the Kick co-owner has shelled out in a big way, buying a $25.5 million home in Davie, Florida. The 10-acre property includes an 11,325-square-foot, seven-bedroom mansion that had been on the market for $32 million.

According to TheRealDeal, the land was initially purchased in 2009 for less than $1m, and has been built up over the years.

The stunning mansion includes eight bathrooms, landscaped gardens, fountains, a reflecting pool, a chef’s kitchen, a home theater, a spa, an office, an art studio, and a pool house.

Real estate broker Enzo Rosani, who helped with the deal, showcased the inside of the house in an Instagram tour video. “A new benchmark set. Highest sale ever in the area — and we made it happen,” he said.

According to a report from Compass, Adin has put down around $12 million to buy the house, with the rest coming via a massive mortgage.

The streamer previously said he was aiming to buy a beachfront property in Miami, but he has clearly changed up on that front. He is a 40-minute drive from Miami Beach, but the land he now owns gives him some big possibilities for new content ideas.

However, he is still a fair way off getting a spot on the list of most expensive homes owned by celebrities.

Ross Ulbricht’s Bitcoin donor tied to dark market Alphabay

by admin June 6, 2025

A crypto wallet tied to the defunct dark web marketplace Alphabay was reportedly behind the donation of $31 million worth of Bitcoin to Silk Road creator Ross Ulbricht, according to blockchain analysis.

Blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis told WIRED for a June 5 report that it had tied the 300 Bitcoin (BTC) donated to Ulbrich earlier this month to Alphabay, a predecessor to Silk Road that operated from 2014 to 2017.

Chainalysis suggested that the funds came from a major vendor on the platform who would have had access to such substantial amounts.

“We have reasonable grounds to suspect that these funds originated in AlphaBay,” Chainalysis director of investigations Phil Larratt said. “Looking at the amount, that would suggest they came from someone who was possibly a vendor on AlphaBay back in the early days.”

Independent blockchain sleuth ZachXBT confirmed the 300 Bitcoin did not come from Silk Road and noted suspicious patterns in how the donor moved the funds.

They used multiple mixing services to obscure the transaction trail and cashed out other cryptocurrencies in small amounts to avoid detection, which he suggested indicated criminal origins.

ZachXBT said on X that the donation appears to come from a “sketchy centralized mixing service,” called Jambler, whereas normal privacy enthusiasts use decentralized mixers such as Wasabi and the now-defunct Samourai.

The analysis suggested that the money was a “legitimate donation, but not legitimate funds,” ZachXBT told WIRED.

“Usage of multiple mixers, spreading out CEX [centralized exchange] deposits, etc, that is done typically if you are trying to avoid getting illicit funds frozen,” he said.

Alphabay takedown on BTC links

Chainalysis was instrumental in the identification of AlphaBay-linked Bitcoin addresses, which played a key role in the takedown of the darknet marketplace in an investigation known as “Operation Bayonet” that spanned 2016 and 2017.

Any BTC held since then would have appreciated dramatically, potentially over 40-fold, but the identity of the donor and their motivation remain unknown.

In January, US President Donald Trump fully pardoned Ross Ulbricht, who had been in prison for 12 years serving a double life sentence plus 40 years for running the Silk Road.

Here’s Who Sent Ross Ulbricht $31 Million in Bitcoin

by admin June 5, 2025

The $31 million Bitcoin donation that was recently received by infamous Silk Road founder Ross Ulbricht has been traced to another darkweb marketplace called AlphaBay by blockchain sleuth Chainalysis, Wired reports.

As reported by U.Today, the mysterious transaction, which was first recorded on May 31, puzzled the cryptocurrency community, prompting various theories.

Some assumed that the mysterious donation came from Ulbricht’s own coins that had been allegedly stashed before his imprisonment.

However, Chainalysis believes that the funds actually came from the now-defunct successor of Silk Road, which was known as the “Amazon of the dark web.”

AlphaBay, which was launched in late 2014, emerged as the leading darknet marketplace with hundreds of thousands of users before it was eventually shut down in 2017 by law enforcement authorities. At its peak, it was 10 times bigger than Silk Road. The website was accepting various cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and Monero. It relaunched in 2021 before eventually seizing operations less than two years later.

According to Chainalysis, he extremely generous donation likely came from a major player associated with AlphaBay, but their motive remains unclear.

Ulbricht was freed from prison in January after spending 12 years behind bars.

$31M In Bitcoin Floods In For Silk Road Founder Ross Ulbricht As Support Grows

Ross Ulbricht has received a massive gift from the crypto world. He was pardoned earlier this year and, within hours, 300 Bitcoins—worth about $31.4 million—were sent to his donation wallet.

He’s already seen support from big players like Kraken, which gave $111,111 in Bitcoin, and grassroots efforts that raked in roughly $270,000. Now he has enough to start over, and many in the crypto community are watching closely.

Community Support Flows

According to blockchain analysis platform Lookonchain, the 300 BTC landed in Ulbricht’s wallet just hours after it was sent. This isn’t the first time generous backers have reached out.

Earlier in 2025, Kraken quietly wired over $111,111 to help him adjust to life outside prison. A group called Free Ross has claimed more than $270,000 in donations.

Another address tied to Ulbricht gathered $4,615 in Ethereum, USDC, Tether (USDT), and Binance Coin (BNB). All of this suggests that plenty of people still care deeply about his fate.

Presidential Pardon And Backlash

On January 21, 2025, US President Donald Trump signed a full and unconditional pardon for Ulbricht. He’d spent 11 years serving a double life sentence without parole after being convicted in New York in 2015 of narcotics and money-laundering conspiracy.

Based on reports, Ulbricht could have access to inactive Bitcoin wallets connected to Silk Road, and those wallets may hold roughly $47 million. That potential stash has only fueled more debate: some ask whether he really needs outside donations if he can tap into $47 million in dormant coins.

Auction Of Personal Items

Ulbricht has also turned to selling pieces of his past. Based on reports from Scarce City—the Bitcoin-powered collectibles platform—he’s raised about $1.8 million by auctioning personal items and art.

His prison ID card drew the highest bid: 11 BTC, now worth more than $1.1 million. An oil painting made with help from fellow inmate “Omega” sold for 1.01 BTC. Thirteen artifacts in all were up for grabs, including prison sneakers, a sweatsuit, a t-shirt, a prison notebook, and a locker lock.

Before his arrest, he’d owned things like a djembe drum, a backpack, and Vibram FiveFingers shoes. Bidders must complete payment by June 2, and Ulbricht has said he’s ready to move on from these physical reminders.

Ross Ulbricht Speaks at Bitcoin 2025: ‘You Didn’t Forget Me’

by admin May 30, 2025

In brief

  • Ulbricht thanked the Bitcoin community for years of support, including letters, advocacy, and fundraising.
  • “You never forgot me. You gave me hope,” Ulbricht told the audience.
  • He urged the crypto community to unite around the core values of freedom, decentralization, and unity.

A decade after being sentenced to two life terms plus 40 years without parole, Silk Road founder Ross Ulbricht took the stage at the Bitcoin 2025 conference on Thursday, a free man. No longer behind bars, Ulbricht was overwhelmed by how much the world, Bitcoin, and technology had changed since his imprisonment.

“Just a few months ago, I was trapped behind those prison walls and didn’t know if I would ever get out,” Ulbricht said. “Now I’m free, and it’s because of you.”

Choking up as he recalled the years behind bars, Ulbricht thanked the Bitcoin community for standing by him throughout his time in prison.

“You didn’t abandon me. You didn’t forget me. You wrote me letters. You raised money for my defense,” Ulbricht told the audience. “When I was silenced, you spoke up against the slander and the smears.”

He described his pardon as a ‘miracle’ and said it was disorienting to emerge into a world filled with drones, AI, and cryptocurrency apps.

“I effectively went into a time capsule in 2013,” Ulbricht said, comparing himself to Rip Van Winkle.

“When I walked out of prison a few months ago, I’d never seen a drone, used AI, or tried VR. I hadn’t even chatted with AI,” he said. “Now it’s all hitting me at once — the freedom, the technology, the fact that I have a future again.”

Agents with the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation arrested Ulbricht on October 1, 2013, for his involvement with creating and operating the Silk Road.  The dark web marketplace facilitated anonymous sales of illegal drugs and services using Bitcoin.

Ulbricht was charged with conspiracy, drug trafficking, and operating a criminal enterprise. On May 29, 2015, U.S. District Judge Katherine Forrest sentenced Ulbricht to two life terms plus 40 years without parole.

Ulbricht’s conviction sparked a global campaign to set him free. Spearheaded by Ulbricht’s mother, Lyn Ulbricht, the Free Ross movement included a Change.org petition that received over 600,000 signatures asking for clemency.

In the lead-up to the 2024 presidential election, then-candidate Donald Trump promised to free Ulbricht in a bid to appeal to the Bitcoin community.

After 11 years in prison, on January 21, 2025, President Trump signed the pardon that released Ulbricht.

“It took President Trump recognizing that an injustice had been done and that many of you demanded my freedom. I’m thankful we elected him. He’s a man who does what he says — he said he’d free me, and he did. He’s a man of integrity.”

Despite the years he spent in prison, Ulbricht urged the Bitcoin community to stay grounded in its core principles.

“With so much speed and chaos, it’s more important than ever to stay true to our principles. It’s easy to lose sight when everything happens at once and countless things pull at your attention,” he said. “Principles should be simple and few and today, I’ll mention three: freedom, decentralization, and unity. Remember those three.”

As he closed his speech, Ulbricht called for solidarity—not just among Bitcoiners but across the entire cryptocurrency community—and for renewed commitment to the values that had carried both him and the movement this far.

“We can argue, but never see each other as enemies. Those who oppose decentralization and freedom thrive on our division. Stay united,” he said. “If we agree that we deserve freedom and that decentralization secures it, we can stand together. Have each other’s backs, as you had mine. Freedom, decentralization, unity—stay true to these, and the future is ours.”
