Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked rolls the dice on a release date and lands on this November

by admin October 4, 2025

I could probably quite safely bet some money that many of you are still happily ticking away at Baldur’s Gate 3, but for those of you that would like newer pastures to get your TTRPG fix in video game form, there’s some good news. The board game-esque tactical RPG Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked at long last has a release date!

You won’t be waiting long for it, as it’s slated for release this coming November 20th. No pound sterling or euro pricing for the game yet, but in USD it’ll set you back $30 – it’s also cross-platform and cross-device compatible, so no biggie if your friends aren’t on PC! And if it being more Dungeons & Dragons something or other, relatively affordable, and cross-everything isn’t enough for you, when Steam Next Fest kicks off next October 13th you’ll be able to try out a demo for yourself.

Watch on YouTube

This demo lets you try out a couple of encounters, with four heroes to choose from, including Jessix, a “human ranger seeking retribution” that is apparently a new reveal alongside this release date announcement! Plus, playing the demo will unlock an exclusive cosmetic for your d20s in the full game. Free stuff! Nobody hates free stuff!

If you haven’t even heard of Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked before, well, it’s a crossover between Demeo, which is also a fantasy, board game-esque tactical RPG, albeit set in its own world, with (you guessed it) D&D! You move little figures around a board while going through different campaigns, a big selling point being that it has online multiplayer, something Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked will also have. And you’ll be able to play it in VR too if that takes your fancy!

Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked is out November 20th, later this year.

China Rolls Out Its First Talent Visa as the US Retreats on H-1Bs

by admin October 2, 2025

The bottom line is that, unlike the US, China is not a country of immigrants. In 2020, only about .1 percent of the mainland population was made up of foreigners, according to one estimate by researchers from the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. That’s roughly 1.4 million people in a country of more than 1.4 billion. In the United States, by contrast, 15 percent of the population is made up of immigrants. Even other East Asian nations, like Japan and South Korea, are home to far more foreigners than China in terms of their relative population size.

Because the US already has a large immigrant population from all over the world, it can be easier for new arrivals to adjust. Local companies operate in English, the language of global business. Colleagues and friends communicate through platforms like Gmail and Instagram, which are available in most parts of the world. And when it comes to creature comforts, H-1B recipients from India or China who land in San Francisco or New York will have no trouble finding restaurants (even good ones!) that serve food that tastes like home.

In China, however, newcomers must navigate a corporate landscape that operates largely in Chinese, a language few foreigners study in grade school or while pursuing a STEM degree. The country’s tech ecosystem is also totally unique. New arrivals face not only an unfamiliar language and culture, but also a suite of unfamiliar programs and apps, most notably WeChat.

Better Reputation

There are signs that more people might be willing to overcome these barriers to experience the benefits of living in China, a place now increasingly associated with high-speed trains, electric cars, and futuristic cities. In places like Greece, Spain, and Germany, the majority of people now view China as the world’s top economic power, according to the Pew Research Center. Africa, the continent with the world’s youngest and fastest-growing population, already sends more students to study in China each year than to the US or UK.

I’ve personally noticed that my American friends and family seem to have much more positive impressions of China than they did a few years ago. That might be in part due to the popularity of Chinese exports like TikTok, Temu, and Labubu. Several friends have even told me they specifically want to visit Chongqing, a Chinese megacity that didn’t attract many foreign tourists until videos of its skyline and hot pot restaurants went viral on Instagram and TikTok.

Whether this growing curiosity translates into people actually moving to China will depend in part on how the government handles programs like the new K visa. The policy lowers barriers for people who want to study or work there, but it has also stirred anxieties at home. For now, it’s unclear whether it will become a genuine gateway for new waves of international talent, or falter in the face of the same rising nationalist sentiments reshaping politics around the world.

YouTube rolls over and pays $24.5 million to settle Trump lawsuit after suspending his account in the wake of the Capitol riots, president calls himself a ‘shadowbanned patriot’

by admin October 1, 2025

YouTube has joined the ignominious list of tech companies rushing to settle lawsuits brought by US president Donald Trump. The Alphabet-owned platform has agreed to pay $24.5 million to settle a lawsuit filed after it suspended Trump’s YouTube account following the riot at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.

Trump has accused various tech companies including YouTube of political bias and censoring conservative voices, and both Twitter/X and Meta have already settled lawsuits relating to the suspension of his accounts. In January 2025 Meta agreed to a $25 million settlement, with $22 million of that going to Trump’s presidential library, and in February X settled for a reported $10 million.

At the time of the Capitol riots, these firms had said that Trump’s posts risked inflaming tensions and inciting further violence. All of Trump’s accounts on these platforms have been reinstated.

Needless to say, Trump took to social media to celebrate the win, posting an AI-generated image on X of what appears to be a distressed-looking Neal Mohan, CEO of YouTube, handing over a giant cheque for $24.5 million to the president, who is grinning and giving a thumbs up. The cheque reads: “Settlement for Wrongful Suspension.”

On Trump’s Truth Social platform the same picture comes with a wall of triumphant text, featuring the president’s typical fondness for caps lock:

“YouTube SURRENDERS! Pays President Trump $24.5 MILLION for illegal ban! This MASSIVE victory proves Big Tech censorship has consequences. Every shadowbanned patriot deserves justice! Trump fought for free speech and WON! Repost if ALL banned conservatives should be paid!”

All very normal. YouTube has been feeling the heat from the Trump administration more generally, and has not exactly covered itself in glory. It and other social media firms have agreed to take steps to loosen content moderation on their platforms, and last week YouTube said it intended to restore accounts that had been banned for posting misinformation about the 2020 presidential election and Covid, among other topics.

Keep up to date with the most important stories and the best deals, as picked by the PC Gamer team.

“YouTube values conservative voices on its platform and recognizes that these creators have extensive reach and play an important role in civic discourse,” says a YouTube statement sent to a Republican-controlled congressional committee.

Under the settlement YouTube does not admit any wrongdoing, nor agree to make any policy changes. The $24.5 million will see $22 million going to the Trust for the National Mall, a group aiming to raise $200 million for the construction of a new White House ballroom. The remaining $2.5 million will be paid to other plaintiffs in the case, including the American Conservative Union.

Faustus Decline god rolls and how to get them in Destiny 2

by admin October 1, 2025

It’s rare for random world drops in Destiny 2 to be meta picks, but there are a few sleeper weapons. Even though there are technically no world drops in the Portal, Faustus Decline is on the same level of appeal: unremarkable but powerful.

Faustus Decline is a Stasis Lightweight Frame sidearm. While simple on paper, Lightweight sidearms have their own niche in the Destiny 2 sandbox, and this one comes with decent perk combinations regardless of what you’re about to play.

Here are the Faustus Decline god rolls in Destiny 2 for PvE and PvP.

What is the Faustus Decline god roll in Destiny 2?

One roll down, one to go. Screenshot by Dot Esports

Faustus Decline PvE god roll

  • Barrel: Corkscrew Rifling
  • Magazine: Appended Mag
  • Perk one: Rimestealer or Demolitionist
  • Perk two: Headstone
  • Masterwork: Handling

Faustus Decline PvP god roll

  • Barrel: Hammer-Forged Rifling
  • Magazine: Ricochet Rounds
  • Perk one: Lone Wolf
  • Perk two: Kill Clip
  • Masterwork: Masterwork

In PvE, the god roll is Rimestealer with Headstone. Rimestealer grants a stack of Frost Armor when defeating a frozen target or shattering a Stasis crystal, and Headstone creates a Stasis crystal when getting a precision final blow, synergizing perfectly with Rimestealer. Frost Armor can be a weak buff unless you’re leaning into it with your subclass, so there’s always Demolitionist to get 10 percent grenade energy per kill.

In PvP, Lightweight Frame sidearms serve as a solid backup if you’re not running a Special weapon. Heliocentric QSc has been one of the top choices, with perk combinations like Heal Clip with Kill Clip, and Faustus Decline serves as an alternative for the Kinetic slot.

On Faustus Decline, there’s Lone Wolf in the third column for increased aim assist and airborne effectiveness. The base buff is five aim assist and 15 airborne effectiveness, doubling when there are no allies nearby.

Much like on Heliocentric QSc, there’s Kill Clip in the fourth column to get a 25 percent increased damage for five seconds when reloading after a kill. You could also go for Sword Logic. It doesn’t require a reload but only provides a 15 percent damage buff in PvP. Sword Logic’s strength is that you can refresh the buff’s time with additional kills, allowing for more chain kills in 6v6 playlists.

For hip-fire enjoyers, there’s also Hip-Fire Grip with Offhand Strike. Both increase the weapon’s performance when firing from the hip, and work well with Exotic armor pieces that focus on hip-fire, like Radiant Dance Machines.

How to get Faustus Decline in Destiny 2

There are quite a few weapons in the pool. Screenshot by Dot Esports

Faustus Decline drops from Solo and Fireteam Ops in the Portal. It’s one of the many weapons, including newer additions like Unfall and Drang, that can drop as a completion reward or a Bonus Drop if you’ve been keeping up with your daily challenges.

The best way to farm Faustus Decline (or any weapon in the Portal) is to wait until it becomes a Bonus Focus reward for any of the activities with the daily reset. Completing that activity with a grade B or higher has a chance of dropping the featured weapon.

Indonesian University Rolls Out On-chain Records At No Cost to Students

by admin September 30, 2025

In brief

  • Indonesia’s Universitas Gadjah Mada will pilot verifiable digital credentials, beginning with English proficiency courses.
  • Students receive digital wallets preloaded with tokens for paying tuition and course fees, with no added costs.
  • The pilot rollout will cover 60,000 students and run alongside a separate AI lab initiative.

Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), one of Indonesia’s oldest and largest public research universities, announced Tuesday that it will begin storing student course records on-chain by adopting Space and Time, a decentralized database platform.

Students who complete courses will have their records written directly to the Space and Time network, creating an immutable credential they can share with employers or other schools.

The education framework is intended to help provide “expanded, modernized education access to the unbanked” and give students “a way to prove their educational achievements to any institution or employer in the world,” Scott Dykstra, co-founder and CTO of Space and Time, told Decrypt.

By onboarding students on-chain, Space and Time is hoping its database platform could help students overcome “intermediaries or traditional financial infrastructure” and “come out the other side with a traceable, verifiable record of what they’ve accomplished,” Dykstra said.

UGM‘s rollout for its estimated 60,000 students begins with English proficiency courses as the initial use case for on-chain credentialing, with planned expansions to other courses. The university also announced a new on-campus AI lab using Dreamspace, a tool built on Space and Time, which will provide courses on building and deploying AI applications.

The initiative was introduced following a partnership between Indomobil Group, one of Indonesia’s largest automotive conglomerates, and the Space and Time Foundation, which now oversees the decentralized database network originally developed by MakeInfinite Labs.

Space and Time’s custom chain pulls data from multiple blockchains and distributes it across a validator network, where each query is backed by cryptographic proofs, allowing applications to verify results without relying on a single data source.

Verifiable education

Speaking with Decrypt on Tuesday during the week leading to TOKEN2049 Singapore, a representative for the Space and Time Foundation explained the education program’s components.

The first centers on verifiable education. By placing course completions and diplomas on-chain, students avoid fragmented records across institutions and instead create a single, immutable record that employers or universities beyond the local can confirm.

The second component involves financial access through SXT, the native digital asset of Space and Time. Each student will receive a wallet preloaded with tokens to pay tuition and course fees directly, in a system the company says is designed to reach those without traditional bank accounts. Space and Time confirmed with Decrypt there will be no costs to students.

Still, some scholars caution that the promise of blockchain-based use cases in education comes with risks.

A 2025 ASEAN report on higher education mobility noted that digital credentials can support cross-border recognition of qualifications, but warned that gaps in digital readiness could worsen inequities for students and institutions with fewer resources.

mXRP rolls out as the first fully DeFi-compatible XRP yield product

by admin September 22, 2025

Midas, in partnership with Axelar and Hyperithm, has launched mXRP, the first XRP yield product of its kind that is fully composable in DeFi.

Summary

  • mXRP lets users mint a transferable ERC-20 token by depositing XRP as collateral, tracking market-neutral yield strategies.
  • The product targets a 6–8% base yield paid in XRP, with additional returns possible through deployment across DeFi protocols.
  • The launch comes amid a surge in XRP yield offerings, but unlike traditional “Earn” products, mXRP stands out as fully DeFi-compatible, offering composable utility.

Tokenization platform Midas has launched mXRP, a tokenized XRP product that operates on the XRP Ledger’s EVM sidechain, with infrastructure and interoperability provided by Axelar.

Users can create mXRP by depositing XRP as collateral, which then follows the performance of underlying yield strategies such as market-making and liquidity provision. Hyperithm, a third-party asset manager, will act as the “risk curator,” managing these strategies, Dennis Dinkelmeyer, co-founder and CEO of Midas, told The Block. The product targets a base yield of 6–8% paid out in XRP.

In addition to the base yield, users can deploy mXRP across DeFi protocols to maximize earnings from their XRP holdings. “Much of the XRP supply has been dormant for years; mXRP provides a transparent mechanism for users to access onchain strategies,” Dinkelmeyer explained.

Georgios Vlachos, co-founder of Axelar, described the structure as making mXRP a “perpetual buyer” of XRP, with yield generated from strategies used to purchase additional XRP that is then distributed to mXRP holders. Vlachos added that if mXRP’s AUM grow to $10 billion by June next year, the product could generate $700 million in annual buying pressure for XRP.

Access to mXRP is restricted in the U.S., U.K., and other sanctioned jurisdictions.

How mXRP sets itself apart in XRP yield market

The launch of mXRP comes amid a rising number of XRP-focused yield products entering the market, such as Doppler Finance’s self-custody XRPfi Prime, which unlocks yield within a hardware wallet, and XRP yield accounts recently launched by MoreMarkets.

However, as Dinkelmeyer explained, those “Earn” products function like traditional savings or lending accounts, whereas mXRP is a transferable ERC-20 token compatible with DeFi. “That composability gives mXRP real utility beyond just holding it,” he said.

It’s also worth noting that XRP yield is beginning to attract significant institutional interest. Notably, Nasdaq-listed VivoPower has recently partnered with Flare to deploy $100 million in XRP through Flare’s scalable FAssets framework, generating institutional-grade yield while reinvesting returns into its holdings.

Destiny 2 Submersion god rolls & how to get

by admin September 21, 2025

Submersion is Destiny 2‘s second-ever Combat Bow, worth farming for its unique qualities, but it’s not the easiest weapon to come by.

Introduced to the looter shooter’s sandbox in Edge of Fate‘s mid-season Ash & Iron update, Submersion is currently the only crossbow in the game obtainable outside of raid content, making it the most accessible version of the weapon type.

Fortunately, this bolt-throwing powerhouse also comes packing some serious heat, including some perks that Stasis lovers will find too tantalizing to ignore. Even if you’re not currently running the Darkness subclass, though, there’s still plenty Submersion has to offer for your neutral game needs.

Submersion PvE & PvP god roll – Meta analysis

PvE God Roll

PvP God Roll

Rail: Empowered Rail
Bolt: Charged Bolts
Perk 1: Auto-Loading Holster
Perk 2: Chill Clip
Masterwork: Persistence

Rail: Mag-Lev Rail
Bolt: Explosive Bolts
Perk 1: Impulse Amplifier
Perk 2: Chill Clip or High Ground
Masterwork: Velocity

In a meta where some Special weapons have started teetering on the edge of surpassing Heavies in power, it can be difficult to justify running any option other than a Sword for the mobility they offer. Likewise, extremely high ability uptime has seen the likes of Rocket and Grenade Launchers fall out of favor.

Article continues after ad

However, Submersion offers an alternative choice as a beastly fire-and-forget DPS tool. Combat Bows excel at dealing persistent rather than burst damage, with their unique Persistence stat dictating how long a fired bolt fired stays lodged in an enemy dealing tick damage.

Article continues after ad

Empowered Rail and Charged Bolts pair perfectly for these purposes, increasing Persistence and tick damage respectively.

As you’ll want to be prioritizing other sources of DPS after firing, Auto-Loading Holster’s automatic reloads allow you to switch Submersion in and out to let additional bolts loose before returning to chucking out Abilities and the Special weapon (probably a Rocket Sidearm or Pulse Rifle, let’s be real) of your choosing. For the second perk slot, Chill Clip provides Stasis synergy and even more damage over time.

Article continues after ad

While Combat Bows haven’t really found their place in the PvP meta yet, you can get decent mileage out of Submersion with Impulse Amplifier paired with Chill Clip or High Ground, but honestly, you’re probably better off running a Sword or Machine Gun instead.

Article continues after ad

How to get Submersion

Currently, Submersion can only be obtained as a potential reward from Weekly Events. Following the conclusion of Reclaim, Ash & Iron’s launch event, the Combat Bow is now obtainable as a random drop from Iron Banner. Once that concludes on September 23, you’ll have to wait until the next Weekly Event to get additional drops of Submersion.

Article continues after ad

That’s a wrap on everything you need to know about Submersion, but it’s far from the only weapon dominating Destiny 2 right now. Check out our god roll guides for Seraphine Haze and Unfall for more build ideas.

Grayscale Rolls Out First Multi-Token Crypto ETF In The US

by admin September 20, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

Digital asset investment platform Grayscale, is making significant headlines in the cryptocurrency space with the launch of the first multi-token exchange-traded fund (ETF) available in the United States.

The Grayscale CoinDesk Crypto 5 ETF, which begins trading on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the ticker “GDLC,” combines the five largest and most liquid digital assets: Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), XRP, Solana (SOL), and Cardano (ADA).

Grayscale CEO Declares New Era Of Crypto Index Investing

Peter Mintzberg, CEO of Grayscale, emphasized the nature of this new launch, suggesting it heralds a new era of crypto index investing.

In an interview with CNBC, he stated, “We are typically in the first mover position. Grayscale will continue innovating at scale for investors to access the fastest growing asset class of the last 10 years.”

The increasing demand for diversified exposure to cryptocurrencies is evident among both institutional and retail investors amid rising prices.

The movement towards mainstream acceptance of digital assets has gained momentum, particularly under the Trump administration, which facilitated the inclusion of cryptocurrencies in retirement plans and a new regulatory framework.

The GDLC fund allocates approximately 70% of its assets to Bitcoin and 20% to Ether, and it has been trading in various forms since 2018, most recently in over-the-counter markets.

In 2025, Grayscale’s GDLC has already achieved major growth, surging over 40% as many cryptocurrencies reach record highs. Notably, the fund has outperformed Bitcoin by nearly 11% since June, thanks to the strong performance of its other constituent assets.

Analyst Predicts Over 100 New Crypto ETFs

Experts are optimistic that this new standard will streamline the process for launching similar products, potentially ushering in a wave of cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds.

Eric Balchunas, a Senior ETF Analyst at Bloomberg, noted on social media that the last time a generic listing standard was implemented for ETFs, the number of launches tripled. He predicts a surge of over 100 crypto ETFs could enter the market in the coming year.

Supporters of this initiative argue that it could position digital assets on equal footing with traditional financial products, a goal that past SEC commissions have been hesitant to embrace.

Greg Xethalis, General Counsel at MultiCoin Capital, commented on the SEC’s previous regulatory stance, noting that prior commissions often used regulatory frameworks as a means of imposing merit regulations on well-established product structures, despite the novelty of the underlying assets.

He remarked, “As shown by the Bitcoin ETP launch, the market wants this product option, and this latest move both heeds that call and is a welcome return to normal course at the Commission.”

In addition to the GDLC launch, the SEC is reportedly on the verge of approving Bitwise’s BITW, an index fund that tracks the top ten cryptocurrencies by weighted market capitalization.

Next month, the SEC is also expected to consider a series of individual spot crypto ETPs, including those focused on Ethereum staking, Litecoin (LTC), Solana, XRP, and Dogecoin (DOGE).

Snapchat rolls out Group Streaks and ‘Infinite Retention’ for chats

by admin September 14, 2025

Snapchat has introduced a couple of new features it says are “highly requested” by its users. The first is “Infinite Retention,” which as its name implies will allow you to keep a chat history like you could on a messaging app and prevent your messages from disappearing. “We’ve often heard from our community that Snapchatters want to save their chats forever and wish they could build streaks with their favorite groups,” its announcement reads.

The app has been testing the feature since 2024, and now it’s being rolled out broadly. You could already save messages in the app by tapping on them inside the chat, but this one makes things easier. It’s a setting you’ll just have to switch on or off for each conversation. If you enable the setting, the other person in the conversation will get a notification that you did, and they will be able to switch it off if they want. You can, for instance, switch Infinite Retention on for a close friend but keep it off for acquaintances.

In addition, Snapchat is rolling out Group Streaks that will let you contribute to a collective Streak with your friends. To keep up individual Streaks, you’ll have to send and receive at least one photo or video Snap with a friend every day. Group Streaks are easier to keep going, since several people can participate. You can also restore a Group Streak within a week in case it ends.

Jim Lanzone, the CEO of Engadget’s parent company Yahoo, joined the board of directors at Snap on September 12, 2024. No one outside of Engadget’s editorial team has any say in our coverage of the company.

OpenAI rolls out ChatGPT Projects to free users

by admin September 3, 2025

OpenAI has announced that it’s making its Projects feature available to free users of ChatGPT. Projects let you organize chats with the company’s AI assistant around a specific subject, and were previously one of several privileges only enjoyed by paid subscribers.

While on some level Projects are glorified folders for ChatGPT conversations, the ability to set custom instructions for how the AI responds or limit what information and files it can reference, makes the feature a useful option for power users. As part of this rollout, OpenAI is also increasing the number of files that can be added to a project for ChatGPT to reference. Free users can upload five, Plus subscribers can upload 25 and Pro subscribers can upload 40. Whether you pay for ChatGPT or not, you’ll also be able to customize the color and icon for your project, too.

OpenAI has made a habit of slowly trickling down paid features to its free users over the last few years. Things like Deep Research and ChatGPT Voice started off as exclusives for the company’s subscribers before becoming available to everyone. Offering a formerly premium feature with limits is itself a way to get free customers to become paid ones. OpenAI’s decision to make the recently released GPT-5 model available to everyone at launch, but with harsher limits on how many times free users can use it follows a similar logic.

Projects are available for free users on the web and in the ChatGPT app for Android. OpenAI says the iOS ChatGPT app will receive the feature “over the coming days.”
