Hades 2 Reveals Every Big Change As It Finally Hits Version 1.0 On Switch 2

by admin September 26, 2025

Hades 2 is finally out of Early Access and Supergiant Games has rolled out the red carpet with patch notes showing every major change as the game enters version 1.0 on PC and comes to Switch 1 and Switch 2. The true ending to Princess Melinoë’s adventure is now live, along with fresh secrets and a bevy of balancing tweaks.

Supergiant Games put Hades 2 out in Early Access back in May 2024 and it was already pretty decent. The studio’s been adding more content and fine-tuning its more ambitious scope ever since. In addition to the True Ending and Epilogue, there are also new story events, gift events, keepsakes to discover and fresh artwork and music for players to enjoy. Most of the balance changes are buffs or bug fixes. Appearance rates for resources have undergone some changes as well—all Prestige are now Kudos—and Tablet of Peace and Rod of Fishing sequences have been sped up.

“While Hades 2 spent more than four-and-a-half years in development, including about a year and a half in Early Access, it’s also the culmination of all the experience we’ve gained together as a team since Supergiant Games started back in 2009,” director Greg Kasavin wrote in the game’s Discord. “Early Access development was foundational to the entire idea of the original Hades, and proved instrumental to this latest game as well. So, from all of us, thank you for inspiring us to do our best, and we hope you enjoy your time with Hades 2.”

Opinions may vary on how well this sequel builds on the foundations of the original, but Hades 2 is an impressive achievement for a studio that’s retained all seven of its founding members and continues releasing popular indie hits without a CEO or conventional business structure. “I don’t have some kind of magical explanation for why we’ve been able to stick around for this long while some others haven’t been as fortunate,” Kasavin told SFChronicle in a new interview. “I do attribute it to the value that we place on sticking together as a team, on keeping our ambitions relatively modest. We don’t have an ambition to grow big for its own sake.”

Ethereum Head & Shoulders Pattern Reveals New Target, A Crash Below $4,000 Is Coming

by admin September 25, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

Ethereum has now entered what looks to be another bearish phase after failing to reclaim a critical level. With all of the technicals pointing toward further downside, it now puts the Ethereum price at risk of crashing back below $4,000, a level which was hard-won by the bulls over the last few months. Most of this has to do with one seemingly simple formation, and that is a Head and Shoulders pattern that shows a downtrend after the pattern is complete.

What This Head And Shoulders Pattern Means For Ethereum Price

Crypto analyst Meliketrader shared a chart on the TradingView website showing the Head and Shoulders pattern that had been completed on the Ethereum 4-hour chart. The chart shows the pattern had begun to appear back in August, with the left shoulder toward the middle of the month. The head would appear close to the end of August, and the right shoulder would complete the formation in mid-September.

Interestingly, following the completion of the Head and Shoulders pattern on the 4-hour chart, the Ethereum price had experienced a large bearish candle, which ended up taking out the neckline. Once this was done, it was a confirmation that the altcoin was at risk of more downside.

The neckline, which lies between $4,200 and $4,400, holds the key here, and since the Ethereum price is, once again, retesting this level, what happens here will determine where the price goes next. In the case of a rejection from here, then the Ethereum price will suffer further crashes.

Such a crash from the neckline would send the price crashing back down below $4,000, since there isn’t much demand there. The analyst places targets around $3,850, calling out a range between $3,700-$3,900 during this time, which is all up to where the neckline is measured. “This level also lines up with the last major resistance zone, so it’s a natural magnet,” Melikatrader said.

Source: TradingView

Another development is that the RSI has shown divergence close to the head of the formation. The altcoin has also dropped into the oversold territory at this point, which is a pointer that momentum may be slowing down at this point.

Hope For The Bulls

In the event that the Ethereum price is to turn bullish from here, then there would need to be a successful breakout of the neckline at $4,320 and $4,400. If the altcoin is able to close back above this supply zone with conviction, then the analyst believes that this would invalidate the bearish Head and Shoulder thesis.

The Ethereum price would likely see a significant bounce if this happens, especially given that it is now in oversold territory. Nevertheless, the analyst advises investors to be cautious with sizing and manage risk during this time.

First gameplay trailer for Returnal follow-up Saros reveals a gentler roguelike that’s no less abundant in bullets

by admin September 24, 2025

Sony and Housemarque’s sci-fantasy shooter Saros got its first proper gameplay trailer at PlayStation’s latest State of Play this evening. If you were hoping for more Returnal, then pour yourself a huge brimming flagon of victory mead, for this is basically Returnal plus a gruff male lead, a sunnier shape-shifting wasteland, and a force shield that converts attacks into juice for your biggest guns.

Do people drink victory mead in the world of Saros? This is not a question answered by the trailer. Instead, we’re treated to a series of agile bangfights with enemies of all shapes and sizes. Some are robotic. Some are skull-themed. Some have more arms than seems strictly necessary. Some are large enough to give Kratos the cold sweats. See that Sony? Did you a cheeky bit of license cross-pollination there.

Watch on YouTube

As in Returnal – a game that took Housemarque’s shmup pedigree and applied it to a third-person roguelike shooter – most of these creatures are partial to spewing the most fantastically patterned fusillades of energy projectiles. It’s as though somebody had sneezed while downing their victory mead, and skilfully angled their lips and nostrils to produce a crowd-pleasing firework effect, rather than an excruciating faux pas. If you dislike being sneezed on by cosmic goblins, the game’s horizontal dash looks very effective providing you manage its cooldown.

The trailer blurb recaps the story premise. In Saros you play Arjun Devraj, voiced by Rajul Kohli. He’s a Soltari enforcer exploring the lost colony of Carcosa in the face of an eclipse that causes the landscape to shapeshift. I don’t find Devraj that compelling as a character so far, but he’s got a cool coat so we’ll call it even Stevens. There are also some sad holographic people you can query about Carcosa’s plight.

The key differences I can see over Returnal are 1) that energy shield, which also comes in handy up against laser beam traps and the like, and 2) a Second Chance revive mechanic, which sees Devraj slamming his fist into the ground and resurrecting in sheer petulance at having accidentally taken 400 bullets to the jaw. Housemarque have been keen to emphasise that this is a gentler roguelike than Returnal, with “permanent resources and progression making every death valuable”. See also the tagline, “Come back stronger”.

All we need now is a PC release date. The thing I’d most like to hear about next is the bestiary. I adored Returnal’s lore writing. I thought the 3D bullet hell stuff was bonkers, too, but mostly I’m here for knotty descriptions of exceedingly odd fauna.

Disclosure: RPS co-founder Alec Meer wrote for Returnal and is the lead writer on Saros.

Kojima Productions Reveals Three Cast Members, Poster For Action Espionage Title Physint

by admin September 24, 2025

Koijima Productions’ Beyond the Strand presentation revealed a few new details for Physint, the studio’s in-development action espionage title. Although studio head Hideo Kojima said earlier this year that the project was at least five years away from release, he unveiled a piece of key art along with some of its celebrity voice talents.

Kojima reiterates that Physint, which was first revealed during a January 2024 State of Play, is in the conceptual stages. However, he says the game’s technology will be more advanced than Kojima Productions’ upcoming horror game, OD. While we don’t see any in-game footage, Kojima revealed a Physint poster showing off the game’s protagonist.

While Kojima has not yet cast the main character, he does reveal three film actors playing unknown supporting roles: Charlee Fraser (Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Anyone But You), Ma Dong-seok AKA Don Lee (Train to Busan, Eternals), and Minami Hamabe (Godzilla Minus One). Kojima then shared images of Hamabe rendered in-engine, showing off the technology’s impressive realism.

Physint has no release window, but it will be coming to PlayStation platforms (likely Sony’s next-generation console). For more on Kojima Productions’ Beyond the Strand, check out the new teaser trailer for OD and the reveal of a Death Stranding animated movie.

Hideo Kojima Finally Reveals OD Footage, And It’s Utterly Terrifying

by admin September 23, 2025

Hideo Kojima’s OD finally has its first trailer, and yes, of course, it’s entirely cutscene, but oh my word, what a cutscene. You’ll oscillate between “Good grief, I can’t believe this is the Unreal Engine and not real life, and “Oh god, what the fuck is that?” throughout its three minutes.

During Kojima Productions’ tenth anniversary celebrations, Hideo Kojima finally revealed some moving images of his forthcoming horror game OD, a project he’s co-creating with horror maestro Jordan Peele. What we get is an incredibly tense scene in which the perfectly rendered hands of Sophia Lillis (It, I Am Not Okay With This) attempt to light a whole mess of candles. It’s tense because of far too many sounds, from Lillis’s own terrified breathing, the ambient sounds of adjacent apartments, and that infernal knocking at the door.

By the end, whoever was knocking clearly ran out of patience and let themselves in. We see the sinister, shadowy figure over Lissis’s shoulder (and note the face-shaped scars all over her own face), its thudding footsteps unnervingly slow, as it whispers demonically. Then, in case you were wondering if everything was going to be OK, it grabs for her and she screams. After the titles we cut back to see vast, grey hands clutching Lissis’s face in a truly iconic image.

Which is all lovely and scary! It, of course, tells us precisely nothing whatsoever about the game, other than that it’ll feature baby-shaped candles and be dreadfully frightening. There are so many horror elements taking place at once here, from the worms crawling out of a candle in writhing bundles to the awful image of the cartoonish baby-faced candle melting to reveal its wick, accompanied by the noises of a real baby screaming nearby. Oh, and the tall, awful demon-thing—I’m yet to be convinced he’s a goodie.

At the live event, there was all sorts of empty bluster about how the game will change the very fabric of reality, perhaps requiring that humanity once again reset the yearly clock to a new After OD era, while not actually saying anything at all about what happens in the game. Microsoft’s Phil Spencer declared it “truly visionary” while Kojima, modest as ever, added “this is totally different, even as a system.” But best was Kojima’s declaration that as he travels all around the world scanning spooky locations for the photorealistic game, “I want to scan a ghost for the first time, and I want to get an award for that.” Good luck with that.

Still, the trailer is freaking cool.

Fortnite Reveals Daft Punk Event, But Don’t Expect A Reunion

by admin September 23, 2025

Daft Punk, one of the biggest electronic dance music groups in history, is coming soon to Fortnite alongside some classic tracks, Lego skins, new emotes, and also a big confirmation from Epic that, no, they aren’t getting back together. Sorry.

On September 22, after some online leaks and teases, Epic officially announced that Daft Punk was coming to Fortnite as part of a large in-game event. The robotic duo will arrive in Epic’s ever-growing battle royale on September 27 as part of something called the “Daft Punk Experience.” This will be an in-game location that players can visit alone or with friends, and it will feature various activities, including the ability to remix Daft Punk’s music, a horde mode featuring robots, and a dance club.

But before all that, on September 25, cosmetic items based on the duo will be added to Fortnite’s in-game shop. Cosmetics include multiple Daft Punk outfits, emotes, weapon skins, in-game music tracks, and even some adorable Lego minifigs based on the famous robots.

©Epic Games / Daft Punk

Now, if you’re a big fan of Daft Punk like me, you might see all this news and start thinking that maybe, just maybe, the duo is about to get back together. Perhaps this is just a tease of something bigger. A new album? A new song? A new tour? Well, bad news: Epic makes it very clear in the post announcing all of the new Fortnite x Daft Punk content that, no, the group is not getting back together. First, Epic starts the post off with a mention of the group being “no longer” around and then, to make it very clear, Epic included this in the event’s FAQ:

  • Is Daft Punk getting back together?
  • No. The Daft Punk Experience is an immersive music experience based on the band’s beloved music. The band is not getting back together.

So there you go. Sorry about that. Of course, if they wanted it to be a surprise, that’s exactly what they would say. So perhaps there is still a chance… (Editor’s note: It’s not happening, Zack. Move on.)

Binance’s CZ Reveals Key Reason Why He’s Not Using Telegram

by admin September 22, 2025

Changpeng Zhao, former chief executive officer at cryptocurrency exchange Binance, has revealed that he does not use Telegram.

While Zhao says that he personally has nothing against the popular messaging app, he had to stop using the app after being inundated with a deluge of spam messages (to the point where his phone would start to lag).

The issue is that one cannot restrict messages from random users who know your handle, which was the case for Zhao.

Telegram does not offer an in-built setting that makes it possible to block messages outside one’s contact list. This, of course, leaves public figures of the likes of CZ highly exposed to incessant spamming.

In fact, Zhao claims that he personally complained about this issue to Telegram CEO Pavel Durov.

Paying for DMs?

After an X user suggested that there should be a feature that allows paying for DMs, CZ recalled that he had already tried this with ReachMe, a paid platform that the crypto mogul tested earlier this year.

Zhao initially intended to limit the volume of meaningful messages to roughly 10 per day, but it later turned out that scammers were “very willing” to pay.

Moreover, blockchain security firm SlowMist discovered a vulnerability that allowed users to avoid paying for direct messages.

Ethereum’s ‘Google Moment’? Vitalik Buterin Reveals Next Big Step for Blockchain

by admin September 21, 2025

According to Vitalik Buterin, the future of Ethereum (ETH) lies not in NFTs or meme coins, but in something far simpler — low-risk DeFi. In a new essay, the Ethereum co-founder likened this to how search became Google’s main source of income, powering every other service around the internet giant.

In short, the point is that Ethereum doesn’t need hype cycles to survive. What it needs is a solid foundation of payment systems, savings accounts, collateralized lending and synthetic assets that will stand the test of time. These are trustworthy tools that also keep ETH locked up and fees flowing.

The numbers show why this shift is important. Back in 2019, Ethereum DeFi losses amounted to more than 5% of the total value locked. By 2025, that figure had dropped to almost zero.

Protocols have become safer, risks have dropped, and the wild edges of DeFi have moved further away from the core. Buterin argues that, for millions of users, the risks in traditional finance are now greater than those in DeFi.

“Digital oil” or new Google?

Low-risk DeFi also creates opportunities for the road ahead. These include reputation-based lending without heavy collateral, prediction markets used for hedging and new forms of stable value, such as “flatcoins” tied to inflation indexes. All of these build on the safer foundations being formed today.

Buterin is clear in his message — Ethereum’s biggest application doesn’t need to be revolutionary. It just needs to work everywhere, reliably. Low-risk DeFi fits that role, and if he is right, it could be the piece that finally makes Ethereum both sustainable and integral.
