Solana (SOL) Golden Cross Canceled, XRP Key Breakthrough Incoming, Shiba Inu (SHIB) Reveals Key Pattern

by admin June 25, 2025

  • Solana rally canceled
  • Shiba Inu recovery imminent

With the much-anticipated golden cross setup now formally off the table, Solana has once again failed to secure a sustainable bullish breakout. Even though the shorter-term moving averages briefly hinted at a possible crossover of the longer-term trendlines, the momentum quickly waned, pushing the asset back below significant resistance levels.

A classic bullish signal that frequently precedes major rallies is the golden cross, which is usually created when the 50-day moving average crosses above the 200-day moving average.

The 50 EMA was unable to break decisively above the 200 EMA in Solana’s case, despite a brief convergence of the moving averages in early June. Rather than that, the averages just touched before diverging once more, suggesting that Solana’s recent price action lacked strength. A bearish tone throughout the chart has been strengthened by this technical failure.

SOL/USDT Chart by TradingView

SOL is currently having trouble holding below all important moving averages, including the 26, 50, 100 and 200-day EMAs after failing to maintain above the $150 USDT zone initially. The asset has not maintained its slight recovery from last week’s lows of about $130, and it is currently trading close to $143. There is no genuine buying interest, as evidenced by the volume’s continued downward trend.

Because of the RSI hovering around the low 40s, market participants are reluctant to take on risk and momentum is still muted. Structurally speaking, Solana’s rejection close to the 200 EMA, and the absence of volume support imply that unless there is a resurgence of overall market strength, the asset may continue to be stuck in a sideways or even downward pattern.

As of right now, traders should exercise caution because the golden cross setup’s invalidation eliminates a crucial bullish narrative, and Solana looks ready to consolidate, or worse, revisit support levels around $125, in the absence of fresh volume or a macro catalyst.

Solana rally canceled

Following a surprising recovery from the recent decline to the $2.10 level, XRP is once again at a critical technical juncture, testing the 26-day exponential moving average. Bulls are trying to regain momentum and push the price above important resistance levels, and the asset’s current battle with the 26 EMA is looking like it could make or break the asset. XRP was able to recover successfully from the 200 EMA, which has historically served as dynamic support after forming a descending wedge pattern.

The 26 EMA, which is currently serving as immediate resistance, was directly approached by the upward movement that followed. A successful breakout above this line would be a bullish technical signal that might open up more upside particularly if volume is also rising.

But that is where the trouble starts. The volume profile is still unimpressive, even though the price on the chart is resilient. A lack of notable traction or whale accumulation is reflected in on-chain indicators and trading activity has been gradually decreasing. Put more simply, this move is not supported by any real firepower, at least not yet. The fact that XRP’s RSI is in the neutral zone indicates that there is still potential for movement in either direction, but it lacks conviction.

The bounce might become a brief fakeout instead of the beginning of a more extensive reversal if the current move is not backed by stronger volume inflows and on-chain confirmation. All eyes are still on the 26 EMA in the near future. A move toward $2.30 and possibly higher can happen if XRP breaks through and stays above it. However, if this is not done, the $2.10-$2.00 support range might be retested. Traders should exercise caution for the time being, as XRP is showing promise but not strength.

Shiba Inu recovery imminent

Although Shiba Inu has shown a slight market recovery, a closer examination of the daily chart indicates that prudence might be necessary. SHIB was able to recover the $0.0000120 zone following a significant reversal from the recent local low at around $0.0000110 USDT. This was made possible by increasing momentum on the Relative Strength Index (RSI), which rose from oversold conditions.

The foundation of the current rally has been this increase in RSI, but it may not be sufficient. Even though the short-term price action appears to be positive, the existence of a shooting star candlestick pattern raises doubts about how long this move can last. The shooting star pattern, which usually shows up at the top of upswings and indicates possible exhaustion, is distinguished by a long upper wick and a small real body close to the session’s low.

You Might Also Like

This might be seen as a warning that the recent buying pressure on SHIB is already abating. Volume indicators are still comparatively muted, which makes it impossible to verify how strong the bounce was. The market may experience a brief retracement before any long-term breakout is possible because it is unable to produce meaningful follow-through at this point.

The 26 EMA (approximately $0.0000134 USDT) is now SHIB’s direct resistance. To move sentiment from recovery to a complete reversal, there would need to be a clear break and consolidation above that level. In the meantime, the combination of a bearish candlestick pattern and low volume strongly suggests exercising caution.

Dogecoin Price Rocked By Market Collapse, Analyst Reveals When To Buy

by admin June 23, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

As the crypto market has succumbed under the pressure of rising war tensions, the Dogecoin price has not been left out of the onslaught. Over the weekend, the meme coin saw an over 5% decrease as it broke below the critical $0.16 level, and is seemingly in free fall. This has naturally led to panic among investors, leading to more sell-offs in the market. Amid this, a crypto analyst has revealed the best time to buy DOGE.

When Is The Best Time To Buy Dogecoin?

The Dogecoin price has already fallen to the $0.15 territory and continues to trend low after the market crash. Despite this decline, a pseudonymous crypto analyst on the TradingView website has said that this is still not the time to buy. The reason behind this is that the meme coin’s price still has a long way to go before it is done crashing.

From here, the crypto analyst still expects the Dogecoin price to fall by another 10%, and that would send it back to the $0.13 level. The analyst explains that investors should first wait for the digital asset to actually approach this area of interest. The why behind this is that the range support has been aligning here with the weekly support, and this has led to a strong confluence zone for a potential entry.

Due to this formation, it makes it anywhere in the $0.13 range to start buying the meme coin. Furthermore, with the support forming at this level and a lot of liquidity expected to flow in, the Dogecoin price could see a major bounce from this buy zone.

As the analyst points out, it is possible that the Dogecoin price will almost double from the buy zone. A target of $0.25 means an over 90% increase in price by the third quarter of the year, putting investors back in the green once again.

Declining Volume Supports Further Decline

Alongside the steady decline in the price, there has also been a steady decline in the Dogecoin daily trading volume. Looking at historical performance on the Coinglass platform, it supports the expectations that the Dogecoin price will continue to fall from here.

In the month of June, the DOGE daily trading volume has seen a notable decline from its $5.1 billion highs to below $3 billion on average. If the market decline does continue , then it is possible that this figure would end up falling below $2 billion before the month is over, and could inadvertently see DOGE go back toward $0.13.

Magic: The Gathering Team Reveals Which Final Fantasy Character They Regret Not Including

by admin June 22, 2025

After half a decade in development, two years spent building up anticipation, and months of teases and reveals, Magic: The Gathering’s Final Fantasy collaboration has finally hit shelves. Even before its official release, the set made history as Magic: The Gathering’s best-selling set of all time, and the weeks that have followed have only further cemented the launch as one of the most significant in MTG’s history.

At this year’s Summer Game Fest, GameSpot had the chance to speak with one of the collaboration’s lead designers, senior game designer Daniel Holt, about the collaboration and how it feels to see folks finally playing with the new cards. We also chatted about preventing Final Fantasy spoilers, how the team manages its regrets, and if he thinks “power creep” is a prevailing issue in the new collection.

GameSpot: You have been working on this set for basically half a decade at this point. What is it like seeing all of this out in the wild–seeing folks playing with these cards?

Holt: It’s wild. It was so secretive for so long. I hear people across the street and they’ll say, “Sephiroth.” And I’m like, “Wait, have we shown that card? Oh, that’s right, it’s all out.”

It’s just crazy that it’s all out there right now and it’s exciting to see the passion that the fans are bringing to it. Something we’ve been taken aback by is the fact that every character or story moment is someone’s favorite. With every single one of these side story characters that aren’t the main party members, we see someone say like, “I can’t believe they included this. This is my favorite character.” It’s that kind of excitement that we’re so excited to see.

Sephiroth as seen on one of his Magic: The Gathering cards.

It really is impressive how the team managed to fit so many characters and moments into the set. What was the biggest struggle with taking over 30 years of content across 16 games and condensing it into one Magic set?

We had to take the approach of [knowing] we’re not going to get everything in. Then, we used a tier system coined by [principal designers] Dillon [Deveney] and Gavin [Verhey]. Tier 1 are those main characters and moments that, if you think of that game, you’re going to be like, “Okay, that character, that moment, has to be here.” Tier 1 is where the main set stayed because they [covered] Final Fantasy I through XVI, so needed to stay in the top level stuff. But for me, on the Commander decks, where each deck is a full game of a hundred cards [dedicated to a single game], I got to go deep into Tier 2 and even Tier 3 moments. I got to include side characters and story moments that maybe you only saw after you put 200 hours into the game.

How did you balance fully capturing some of Final Fantasy’s most iconic moments without spoiling anything?

We had to be a little cheeky about that. We didn’t want to spoil things, and Square [Enix] didn’t want us to spoil things. So you have cards like Sephiroth’s Intervention in here where, you see Sephiroth coming down with a sword. It’s just a cool moment if you’ve never played Final Fantasy VII, but for us that know… we know exactly what story moment is about to happen. In the same vein, Aerith has a death trigger on her ability, so we tied that together. One of my favorite cards in the Commander decks is Farewell in the Final Fantasy X deck. It’s Yuna and Tidus embracing and you don’t know literally what’s going to happen 10 seconds after that moment unless you play the game.

How did you end up deciding which four games to use for the commander decks? It’s got to be hotly debated for sure.

Oh, yeah. Right at kickoff, Final Fantasy VII was, I think, the first one we put in there. Remake and Rebirth are new, it’s on everyone’s mind, and it’s a classic. You know Cloud, you know Sephiroth. Then XIV was the next one we thought of. It has such an active player base and such a large community behind it, we’re like, “This just makes sense.” Fun fact on that one, I’d never played XIV until this product. I put in 200 hours in the first month. I had to go hard on it, just to get that authenticity in there.

As for the other two, Final Fantasy X is my personal favorite and it’s our lead product architect Zakeel [Gordon]’s favorite, too. I might’ve pushed a little hard for that one to be one of the decks. Then wrapping it up was Final Fantasy VI, which is [principle game designer] Yoni Skolnik’s favorite. He pitched the World of Ruin and us focusing on the second half of the game for the deck. I was so charmed by that. Also, VI marks the end of the pixel era, so we actually got one of the pixel games into the four. I think that was important to do.

Now that we’ve seen all of the cards, we know there are certain characters, like Eiko from IX for example, who don’t have a card. How did you deal with knowing that certain characters are not going to have a card and that’s just going to be what it is?

I think you touched on it right there. And I think Eiko is one that… we’re like, “Okay, if we were to do it again, we’d probably try to get her in.” We got her in on the Sleep [Magic] of the set, and we tried to show characters on cards like that.

But me and Gavin, we worked really close together to make sure a lot of characters were represented. For the Final Fantasy X deck, for example, he didn’t have a Lulu or a Wakka in the main set so I made sure to get those in the Commander deck, and vice versa on certain characters. If he had them there, I was less pressured to get them in my decks, but I knew there was a responsibility of that if they weren’t there. Matoya I think is one of my favorite characters from Final Fantasy XIV. I would’ve 100% put her in the Commander deck if Gavin didn’t already have her in the main set.

Crystal Fragments and Sleep Magic cards, both featuring Final Fantasy 9’s Eiko.

When it comes to designing Commander decks alongside the main set itself, how does that process work?

Mostly it comes down to examining what characters might overlap, and using the mechanics. For example, Job Select and Saga Creatures both come from the main set and [the] Final Fantasy X [Commander deck] is a “counters” deck and all about Yuna’s journey collecting the summons leading up to her fight against Sin, so the Saga Creatures work in that deck because you can remove the counters with Tidus and now they stay longer. So it’s about finding synergy there.

Then Job Select cards [work] with Final Fantasy XIV because they’re non-creature spells and will trigger all of your Scion members, but they also build you a board by creating heroes so you’re not wide open to attacks. So it really is synergistic between those.

My real work when selecting the characters and the themes is really working with the creative team. Dillon Deveney was the lead creative for this, and every morning I’d message him, “Hey, I want to put this reprint in the deck. Can it work for this concept?” And he’d be like, “Yes,” or, “No, [but] maybe try this.”

Were there any cards that were particularly difficult either to implement or to come up with an idea for, or that maybe just were imbalanced initially and you really had to work to figure out?

Yeah, Y’shtola in the Final Fantasy XIV deck was actually probably the hardest Commander to do because, originally, that deck’s Commander was going to XIV’s Warrior of Light. That’s what you would think would be the face of Commander. But when we tried that, we’re like, “There are like, 20-something jobs, and everybody customizes their character.” [We decided] the player character wasn’t going to work as a face Commander. We couldn’t make a satisfying, single card for that. So we’ve moved to Y’shtola, G’raha Tia, and the other Scions.

But a lot of the cards in the deck make hero tokens, so you can still feel [the Warrior of Light’s presence]. That’s why we have so many hero tokens. My character was a dancer in the game, so I made sure to get a dancer weapon in there… and I might’ve pushed for the character to be a blue-haired Miqo’te in the art.

Oh, that’s great.

Yeah. But, I think Y’shtola was a little tricky to do. When we got to her and the theme of the deck, I went with non-creature because in Final Fantasy XIV, you’re casting spells, managing cooldowns, et cetera… So I wanted to capture that gameplay with it. I think Transpose really captures the Black Mage abilities. That card having Rebound was the meta of, “That’s your cooldown. You have to wait till your next turn and then it’s ready again.” I designed that because I played a little Black Mage in the game, too.

Two versions of Magic: The Gathering’s Final Fantasy hero tokens.

There’ve been some people who have said that the power creep is very real with this set, but what do you think?

I don’t think that’s true, certainly not for Commander. You have all of Magic’s history to work with here. And I really think it just came down to being true to the characters, doing what the abilities there do, and I think it really plays into the larger environment of Magic.

Have your feelings on Final Fantasy as a game series changed during this process? Are there games you used to maybe not appreciate or like as much and then come round on?

It’s been a lot of rediscovering my love for them. I dug up this old picture of me dressed as Tidus when I was 17, one of my first cosplays. VII was one of my first ones, and then I played older ones like IV and II, et cetera, while going to college.

We all grew up with the series. We’ve all played these for so long. It is really just rediscovering them and the passion. And, like XVI? XVI came out during development, so we all jammed that over the weekend. [I remember being] like, “Oh my God, it’d be so cool if we got Dion in here,” It was so important to me as a person to get that in here. And Gavin was like, “Yep, happy to put him in.”

Has there been any interest in coming back to this series and going into stuff like Final Fantasy Tactics or Final Fantasy X-2–titles outside of the mainline 16?

We certainly have a lot of fans in the office that love those games. I love X-2, I love the dresspheres system. And I need to play Tactics, I know that’s bad that I haven’t. But [as for revisiting Final Fantasy in Magic: The Gathering,] that would be too far in the future right now.

This interview has been edited for both brevity and readability.

Analyst Who Puts Dogecoin Price At $10 Reveals The Trend That Will Drive The Surge

by admin June 22, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

A crypto analyst has shared a new bullish forecast for the Dogecoin price, predicting that the world’s largest meme coin could soar to a double-digit valuation of $10. Although Dogecoin still trades significantly below $1, the analyst remains confident in this bold target. He points to a unique trend tied to Bitcoin’s market behavior, which he believes could be the key catalyst behind this projected bullish rally.

Dogecoin Price To Reach $10 As Bitcoin Hits ATH

A widely followed crypto analyst, known as Dima James Potts, has projected a long-term bullish surge for Dogecoin, believing that a price rally to $10 and beyond was inevitable. This prediction is based on a recurring logarithmic arc pattern that has accurately tracked Dogecoin’s multi-year market cycles.

According to Potts’s weekly Dogecoin price chart, the meme coin has repeatedly followed a clear sequence: starting with an extended consolidation along a lower curve support, followed by a sharp breakout toward an upper curved resistance. This unique pattern has held through multiple cycles since 2014, with each new rally beginning just after Dogecoin breaks above a descending trendline, typically marked with a dramatic spike in volume and price.

In this cycle, Potts notes that the recurring historical structure has taken a long time to develop due to an early peak in the 2021 bull market, which has led to Dogecoin’s prolonged accumulation phase. However, the chart shows DOGE still respecting the lower curve, suggesting that the roadmap and build-up for a massive upward move may be underway.

Source: Dima Potts on X

Notably, the critical point of this bullish forecast will arrive when the Bitcoin price secures a weekly close above its previous all-time high above $109,450. Currently, its price is still sitting below past highs around $103,528 after falling below the $100,000 mark due to broader market volatility and political uncertainty.

Based on Potts’ analysis, Dogecoin’s performance and potential to hit $10 are contingent on Bitcoin reaching a new all-time high. Once this occurs, Potts believes that DOGE will begin a parabolic rally, with the potential to form a cycle peak around the final week of October.

Key Elements And Timelines Strengthen Bullish Case

Beyond the price targets, Potts’ chart analysis highlights critical structural elements supporting Dogecoin’s optimistic outlook. A series of descending yellow trendlines on Potts’ chart have historically acted as resistance in previous cycles—with each major breakout occurring shortly after the meme coin’s price had closed above these lines.

Also marked are purple vertical lines that show the timeline of Dogecoin’s cycles. Each peak in previous years followed soon after these markers, with the next one set for October 27, 2025. Another notable factor is the accumulation length. Past rallies emerged after more than 1,400 days of sideways price action.

The current cycle has already surpassed that duration, with over 1,600 days of gradual buildup and moderate trading volume. These recurring market behaviours seen in past cycles add weight to the projection that Dogecoin may be preparing for its most significant rally yet.

Sega reveals Sega Store Tokyo is on the way

by admin June 21, 2025

Sega is launching a new store in Tokyo, Japan: Sega Store Tokyo.

Sega didn’t share any specifics when it announced the news on social media, but the new store is expected to open in Shibuya’s Parco department complex, near the official Capcom store, a Pokémon Center, and Nintendo Tokyo, too.

The accompanying 18-second teaser doesn’t give much away, sadly, but Sega’s transmedia boss Justin Scarpone told VGC last year that it was time to put the Sega brand – and not just Sonic – “in front of consumers”.

“Our portfolio is very broad, but the common thread is the Sega brand,” Scaprone said at the time. “Sega already has a surprising amount of fandom as a brand, and we need to look after those fans and offer new experiences to them, while putting the stamp of Sega on it more proudly.

“It’s really exciting, and we need to do a lot more of that, because Sega is a consumer brand that is surprisingly not in front of consumers enough. Sonic is, but Sega isn’t.”

A second store is also expected to open in Shanghai, but as yet there’s no news of an expansion into Europe or America.

Alex recently caught up with Takashi Iizuka, the Sonic series producer who first worked on the franchise just two years into his career and has stuck with the blue blur for all these years.

NetEase Reveals Its ‘First Triple-A Single-Player’ Game, Blood Message, And It Looks Awesome

by admin June 21, 2025

Chinese publisher NetEase Games, which is behind multiplayer titles like Marvel Rivals, FragPunk, and Naraka: Bladepoint, has revealed its first-ever triple-A single-player game, Blood Message. Set during the final years of China’s Tang Dynasty, Blood Message is an action-adventure game being developed in Unreal Engine 5 by 24 Entertainment. There’s no word on when it’s coming out, but it’s due on consoles and PC.

NetEase says Blood Message puts players in control of a nameless messenger and his young son during a critical uprising in Dunhuang. “Caught in the crossfire of a righteous uprising and driven by loyalty to both family and country, players will embark on a perilous eastward journey to deliver a message that holds the fate of their war-torn homeland,” a press release reads. “Amidst the shifting sands of history, they will etch a final tale of loyalty.”

Check out the Blood Message reveal trailer for yourself below:

As this nameless messenger, players will embark on a 1000-mile odyssey back to Chang’an, the heart of the Tang Empire. To do so, they’ll cross lethal landscapes like desolate deserts and the wilderness of East and Central Asia while surviving brutal sieges, unforgiving terrain, and more. NetEase says the game’s setting in the last years of the Tang Dynasty “provides a cultural landmark of Chinese history that frames the story with customs, culture, and rich history of the era.”

Regarding gameplay, NetEase describes Blood Message as narrative-driven and anchored in cinematic storytelling with “visceral, realistic combat blending stealth and survival mechanics.”

“As our first completely single-player focused experience from NetEase Games, after two decades of deep dedication to the gaming industry, we are prepared to deliver a truly epic and cinematic experience for our players around the world,” NetEase executive vice president Zhipeng Hu writes in a press release.

Crypto Pundit Reveals Why This Bitcoin Bull Market Feels Different As Crypto Enters ‘New Era’

by admin June 20, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

Crypto pundit Luca has provided insights into why this Bitcoin bull market feels different from other market cycles. As part of his commentary, he also described this bull market as a new era, with a shift occurring that could sideline retail investors.

Why This Current Bull Market Feels Different

In an X post, Luca agreed with market participants who have declared that this Bitcoin bull market feels different. He explained that in previous cycles, as the Bitcoin price climbed, active addresses surged alongside it, as retail investors flooded in to invest in the flagship cryptocurrency. However, this market cycle is different.

The crypto pundit noted that active addresses are declining this time around, indicating that there isn’t much interest in BTC from retail investors in this Bitcoin bull market. Luca remarked that there are fewer retail participants, which is why Google searches for “Bitcoin” are at the same levels they were in the bear market.

Luca stated that institutional players like Michael Saylor’s Strategy are now taking over, and move differently from retail investors. He suggested that this is why there are fewer wallets, larger holdings, and less noise in this Bitcoin bull market. The pundit asserted that this shift isn’t just a detail but a structural change in how the market moves. He added that this isn’t just another cycle but a new era.

Indeed, this Bitcoin bull market has been different as it is the first with major involvement from institutional investors. Other companies have begun to adopt Saylor’s strategy, like Semler Scientific and Metaplanet, by establishing a BTC Treasury. Meanwhile, institutional adoption has also occurred through the Bitcoin ETFs. BlackRock’s IBIT recently became the fastest ETF to hit the $70 billion mark in assets under management (AuM). This highlights the massive interest in BTC from Wall Street investors.

Institutional Adoption Is Helping Stabilize BTC Price

Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas once made a case for how institutional adoption in this Bitcoin bull market has helped stabilize the BTC price. In an X post, he opined that the positive inflows, especially from BlackRock’s IBIT, explain why the flagship crypto has been stable. The analyst added that the new BTC owners are more stable.

Balchunas also stated that over the last 15 months, ETFs and Saylor have been buying all the ‘dumps’ from the “tourists. FTX refugees, GBTC discounters, legal unlocks, and government confiscations.” Essentially, there has been a significant shift in ownership, with retail investors leaving the scene and institutional investors coming on board.

He added that Saylor is obviously not selling and that the ETF investors are much stronger hands than most think. The analyst opined that this should increase stability and lower volatility and correlation in the long term.

At the time of writing, the Bitcoin price is trading at around $104,400, down in the last 24 hours, according to data from CoinMarketCap.

Dune: Awakening creative director stands firm on PvP direction, reveals planned frequency of major updates

by admin June 20, 2025

A Dune: Awakening Reddit AMA has provided insight into when the next major update may be coming, as well as a firm stance on the design direction of the PvP endgame.

The AMA was handled by Funcom developers including creative director Joel Bylos. It was Bylos who responded to questions regarding the endgame PvP, which has proven controversial among those torn on the orniphopter-laden meta that has formed in the game’s opening weeks.

When asked whether the team was considering removing missile launchers for scout orniphopters – the source of much ire – Bylos responded with considerations from the team.

Check out our history of Dune games here!Watch on YouTube

“Equipping a Scout Ornithopter with rocket Pods [could] reduce overall maneuverability and max speed. This will help solidify this module selection as a desire to engage in combat and balance it versus other combat-focused vehicles,” said Bylos. He also noted other ideas, like an increased impact on the scout orniphopters’ heat when shooting missiles, as well as a baseline speed increase to orniphopters with boosters equipped to make escaping easier.

As for the overall endgame experience, Bylos expanded his thoughts as to explain more macro goals the team desire.

“We want players to make meaningful decisions about what they bring with them and how they outfit their vehicles,” Bylos stated. “Once players have engaged in PvP, we want the experience to be reliable, responsive, and clearly understood. This determines how PvP as a whole feels and how players make their moment to moment decisions in a fight.”

Bylos would conclude by addressing concerns regarding connection-related troubles: “To ensure a more reliable experience in ground combat, we are continuing to address issues with movement desyncs and rubber banding, as well as ability activation reliability.”

When asked whether or not a Deep-Desert-style zone without vehicles was being considered, Bylos outright stated no, elaborating: “a lot of our adjustments and balancing are going to drive combat towards the core vision, which is people competing over points of interest in the Deep Desert”. Bylos continued: “The current balance between vehicles and on-foot is not tuned to our liking and there are multiple changes in the pipeline to address this (above and beyond bugs we will fix).”

So it’s certainly been made clear that quality of life changes are being worked on, like the removal of vehicle ramming damage in PvP, the team stood firm for their ideas on how the Deep Desert works. Which is good, in my opinion. Filing down this “vision”, as Bylos puts it, risks removing a substantial amount of character from the game.

The AMA wasn’t just focused on PvP! Other interesting tidbits were revealed by the team, such as a quality-of-life update coming in July, the fact that major Dune: Awakening updates are planned to release every three-four months with new PvE and story stuff to play through, as well as plans to add new contracts to the game.

In Eurogamer’s Dune: Awakening review, the endgame was described glowingly: “It feels less like structured group activities you’d see in a traditional MMORPG raid, and more like grouping up in Classic WoW for a world boss. Or joining a hunt train in Final Fantasy 14. It’s organic community play, something that forms bonds, strong friendships, and undoubtedly tense rivalries.”

Donkey Kong Bananza’s Direct Reveals A Truly Smashing Game

by admin June 20, 2025

Nintendo’s Donkey Kong Bananza Direct went out June 18, revealing a vast amount of new information about the forthcoming Switch 2 exclusive, and the more it went on, the more we found ourselves absolutely pumped for the game. You can watch the entire 15-minute video below.

Tears Of The Kingdom’s Newspaper Questline And The State Of Hyrulean Journalism

While we already knew that Donkey Kong Bananza was going to be a 3D open-world action adventure starring Mario’s first-ever enemy and that nearly everything in every level is destructible, it was hard to get a sense of exactly how the game would play. After fifteen minutes in its company, that feels completely different. This looks like it could be very special. (Jump to 29:30.)

DK is accompanied on Ingot Isle by Pauline, who, it seems, was trapped inside that purple rock we saw in earlier glimpses of Bananza? Who knows. But the important thing is, the two of them are then free to smash their way around layer after layer of adventure, each level set below the last, until you reach the core of the planet.

As the video goes on, we learn that DK can pretty much go anywhere at any point, climbing anything, and then also smash through or down any part of the level. It seems you really can bash down just about anything, which will hopefully lead to some excellent videos as people attempt to destroy entire levels. Oh, and he can turn into a zebra and an ostrich?! Amazing. He’s doing all this with the goal of finding Banandium, a precious banana-shaped gem, while also trying to help Pauline return to her non-ape-based reality.

As Kotaku watched the video, one by one we all declared our astonishment at how much is going on in this game, and how much we want to be playing it. However, like everyone else, we’re going to have to wait a month. The game is out on July 17, with pre-orders open now. Remember, this is a Switch 2 exclusive, and there’s no version for the original Switch. Presumably this was once intended to be a launch title, but needed an extra couple of months.

This really does look like the big title the Switch 2 is desperately lacking. This definitely doesn’t look like it’s some sort of stop-gap before the proper Super Mario title, but rather a full-fledged Super Donkey Kong action game to occupy our summer. You know, if it plays as good as it looks. We’ll find out soon.

Hades 2 reveals Narcissus, and he’s sexier than anyone imagined

by admin June 19, 2025

Hades 2 has been in early access for a year now, and while the game was functional and had most of the gameplay elements that will ship in the final game, many of those features initially sported placeholder art. Sometimes, that artwork was a rough draft of the design, but other times, Hades 2 relied on a generic, green-hooded character who stood in for the god in question. For most of this stretch, the self-obsessed character of myth, Narcissus, was shown in Hades 2 with this mysterious artwork. But as of Tuesday’s big Unseen update, Narcissus has a real appearance. And…Supergiant is really going for it, huh?

The indie studio has historically leaned into the erotic aspects of Greek myth in an effort to best capture the culture that would come up with the concept of, say, a party god. There’s also no way around the fact that many of the stories revolve around sex; Zeus alone has an alarming rap sheet.

In the first game, this often meant sultry voice performances for major characters, some of which the player could romance. The actors were given directions that included the words “mischievous” and “suggestive.” The recordings were so intimate, you could trace the rasp of a character’s voice.

Then there was the soundtrack. It was as if every pluck of the Turkish lute placed you in the audience of a storyteller so grand, that performance must have helped cement the stories we now know and love. Characterizations of gods were also written in a charged way that made it obvious everyone had a history with one another, and some of that unfinished business might’ve not been entirely platonic. Players could be forgiven for forgetting they weren’t playing a romance game in between combat encounters.

Hades 2 doubled down on its carnal tendencies by allowing players to essentially take characters out on dates, including an entire bath house sequence where everyone is dressed down and soaking. Dionysus wears a thong now. That this series would come up with a hot version of Narcissus is expected. That he would look like a twink who is actively getting in position still stands out as a bold choice.

“okay but if i was narcissus and i looked like this? i’d never stop looking at myself either,” one X user says.

The Narcissus change stands alongside a few other character revisions, like Prometheus, who is less clean cut and now actively bleeding from the mouth. The next round of fan art that spurts from this will be inspired, I’m sure.

I’m psyched to see the direction Supergiant took this in, but part of me enjoyed the enigma of the placeholder art. It was weirdly fitting; here’s this man who is so deeply beautiful, us mere mortals aren’t allowed to rest our gaze on him. We can only imagine what he looks like, and our conceptualization will probably fall short. The only person who can see Narcissus actively dies in the process.
