Honkai Nexus Anima revealed, a spin-off creature collector from Genshin Impact studio

by admin August 29, 2025

Honkai Nexus Anima has just been officially revealed. It’s a creature collection game where you gather up a team of friendly critters and have them duke it out in auto-battler style combat. You can sign up for the closed beta test now.

Coming from the same company behind Honkai Star Rail, Genshin Impact, and Zenless Zone Zero, Honkai Nexus Anima appears to be another drastic genre departure for the gacha developer. It’s been in rumoured development for a while, but today marks the first official showing.

When not duking it out in combat, the game is a third person adventure game where you and your gang of lil’ friends can run around, complete side activities, participate in minigames, and more. A small gameplay trailer has been released which you can watch below.

In-game footage from Honkai: Nexus Anima

*The game is under development, and subject to change.
*This Nexus Bond Test is available in 5 languages: Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean. Support for more languages will be added in the future.…

Those interested can sign up for the test via the official website, with the recruitment period lasting from now until 12th September. There’s also a giveaway going on to celebrate the event, where social media users who engage with the fresh Honkai Nexus Anima account can win access to the closed beta test, some cash, and a bobble box set.

As for when the game will leave the closed beta period, there’s no official word as of yet. However, Zenless Zone Zero and Honkai Star Rail moved quite swiftly from beta windows to a full release. So even if you don’t get in, keep an eye out for more news on Honkai Nexus Anima.

This is a news-in-brief story. This is part of our vision to bring you all the big news as part of a daily live report.

PlayStation Plus Free PS4/PS5 Games Revealed For September

PlayStation Plus Free PS4/PS5 Games Revealed For September

by admin August 28, 2025

The next batch of PlayStation Plus freebies is arriving next week and it’s a darn good haul of games, including the beloved indie blockbuster Stardew Valley.

On August 27, as is usual around the end of the month, Sony announced what next month’s free PS Plus games will be. These games are available to all tiers of PS Plus subscribers and will be available to grab and download starting September 2.  All of these games can be played on PS5 or PS4.  Here’s the full list:

  • Psychonauts 2 – PS4
  • Stardew Valley – PS4
  • Viewfinder – PS4, PS5

The star of the show is likely to be Stardew Valley, which appears to have never been given away as a PlayStation Plus game before. That seems wild to me! But hey, if you have not yet played this wildly popular cozy pixel-art life sim that features RPG combat, farming, and more, now is the perfect time to give it a shot. Personally, I’m more excited that more people will get a chance to play Psychonauts 2, a fantastic 3D platformer from Double Fine that I enjoyed a lot back in 2021. I highly recommend you set some time aside to play it. Finally, there’s Viewfinder, a neat first-person puzzle game with an interesting mechanic involving taking pictures and stepping into them. If you like Portal or other similar puzzle games, check this one out, too!

Oh, and don’t wait around too much longer to grab last month’s collection of PlayStation Plus free games. Lies of P, Day Z, and My Hero One’s Justice 2 won’t be free after September 1, so add them to your game library before then if you want to play any of them in the future. Also, keep in mind that you can only play these PS Plus games if you have an active PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra, or Premium membership.

Up, Down, Then Up Again? All Major Cardano (ADA) Price Scenarios Revealed

Up, Down, Then Up Again? All Major Cardano (ADA) Price Scenarios Revealed

by admin August 27, 2025

Cardano’s trading close to $0.87, but the charts do not look the same across different time frames. On the shorter time frame, ADA seems like it could go higher, but the daily chart does not look as good, with the Bollinger Bands showing pressure that could hold it back before it really breaks out.

On the 4-hour and 12-hour charts, ADA has been bouncing off the $0.82-$0.85 area a few times. That zone has become a short-term base, and as long as it holds, a move through $0.90 looks possible. If that happens, the price might move closer to $0.94, which could keep intraday action biased to the upside.

You Might Also Like

The daily picture is different. The Bollinger Bands show the price struggling with the $0.85 midpoint. Instead of acting as support, that line has become resistance, and the upper band near $0.98 has not been tested since early August. That makes the chart look heavier.

Source: TradingView

If the coin fails to stay above $0.85, another dip toward $0.82 or even $0.76 is possible.

In the end, what?

The weekly chart shows $0.96 as the focus. ADA has been capped under that level all year, and a clear move above it would mark a real reversal of the longer trend.

You Might Also Like

Basically, Cardano’s price success depends on the timing. If the time frames are smaller, the daily will lean down, and the weekly might show a bigger move if $0.96 is cleared. Right now, it is a roller coaster ride — up, down and maybe up again, depending on the chart.

2XKO's next character has been revealed early on the Riot Games support website

2XKO’s next character has been revealed early on the Riot Games support website

by admin August 27, 2025

The next character in Riot Games’ upcoming 2v2 fighting game – 2XKO – has been leaked on the official Riot Games support website. We’re going to say who they are in following paragraphs, heads up.

Art for the Blitzcrank was spotted by keen-eyed fans early this morning for the 2XKO, front and centre as both the the star of the banner at the top of the dedicated 2XKO page, as well as the character used on the 2XKO widget when browsing the wider Riot Games support website.

As of writing the art is still live on the support website. Blitzcrank would be the ninth character to come to 2XKO, though no word on when he’ll be implemented has been announced, officially or otherwise.

Here’s the Vi gameplay reveal for 2XKOWatch on YouTube

2XKO is set to launch into closed beta on 9th September, marking the end of a lengthy development journey. In recent months, online sentiment around the game has been tinged somewhat due to a demand for a wider variety of weirder characters. Blitzcrank, a big goofy robot, certainly fits the freakier category.

There’s a hint of irony here, given one of League of Legends’ most legendary support champions being revealed early via the support website. As for when we’ll see Blitzcrank revealed properly? Well, one would hope that with official Riot Games websites locked and loaded with official assets, it could be around the corner, but that’s entirely speculation. Who knows, maybe he’ll be a surprise addition to the closed beta?

What do you think of Blitzcrank? Let us know.

NBA 2K26's Highest-Rating Players Revealed, New MyGM And MyNBA Features Detailed

NBA 2K26’s Highest-Rating Players Revealed, New MyGM And MyNBA Features Detailed

by admin August 23, 2025

NBA 2K26 is right around the corner, and as is often tradition for sports games before launch, developer Visual Concepts is continuing to share what’s new with this year’s entry. A couple of weeks ago, we learned about a host of presentation upgrades coming to NBA 2K26, and today, 2K released a new post detailing the changes arriving in MyGM and MyNBA, the series’ long-term franchise mode. On top of that, we learned who the top-rated players in this year’s game at the start of the season will be.

This year, GMs have a wider array of scenarios that can play out in the 2025 offseason. Once you pick a team, you can choose between three goals that are distinct to that team’s roster and history. The tasks can include picking draft picks, signing free agents, or leading your team to the NBA Finals. Some of the scenarios involve building around a number-one draft pick, while others force you to choose between trying to make one more run with your aging superstars or holding a fire sale and starting the rebuild process.

As you play through MyGM and MyNBA, your achievements will be chronicled through dynamic banners that accurately update based on when you win championships. The experience is also highly customizable, thanks to Unranked MyGM, which lets you edit players, use custom rosters, import custom draft classes, and adjust sliders however you want. With MyPlayer DNA integration, you can even bring your MyPlayer into your franchise experience regardless of your Era.

If you’re more on the managerial side, the simulation mechanics have received various improvements based on player feedback, including giving players greater control over strategic decisions. As GM, you also start each season by meeting with your team’s governor to set the budget, goals, and core directives for the upcoming season. These will shape how secure your job is, as well as influence top free agents’ decision-making processes. Updating your team facilities can also go a long way to attracting top talent, and you can allocate Facility Points to update team training and recovery facilities, luxury box amenities, and perform arena renovations. Budgets have also been updated to accurately reflect the budgets of specific eras of teams.

On top of these announcements, we also got a list of the top 10-rated players in NBA 2K26 at the season’s start.

  1. Nikola Jokić, Denver Nuggets – 98 OVR
  2. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Oklahoma City Thunder – 98 OVR
  3. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks – 97 OVR
  4. Luka Dončić, Los Angeles Lakers – 95 OVR
  5. Anthony Edwards, Minnesota Timberwolves – 95 OVR
  6. Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors – 94 OVR
  7. LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers – 94 OVR
  8. Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics – 94 OVR
  9. Victor Wembanyama, San Antonio Spurs – 94 OVR
  10. Kevin Durant, Houston Rockets – 93 OVR

NBA 2K26 arrives on September 4. To read our review of last year’s game, head here.

No Path of Exile 2 1.0 release this year, as DDOS attacks blamed for server issues and huge new update revealed

No Path of Exile 2 1.0 release this year, as DDOS attacks blamed for server issues and huge new update revealed

by admin August 20, 2025

Path of Exile 2 developer Grinding Gear Games had previously and optimistically said a 1.0 full release might happen this year. GGG gave it a 65 percent chance of happening when I spoke with the studio in March. But those ambitions have now been ruled out.

Speaking after a presentation for the incoming Third Edict update, also known as 0.3.0, and answering a question asked by me, game director Jonathan Rogers said: “Yes I believe that we probably aren’t going to hit 1.0 this year.

“What it currently comes down to is there are two things we need to make sure of before we can have a release. The first one is that we have to have a campaign finished – that’s obviously important – and the second one is that we have to be in a balance-state where people are actually happy and things are going well. Until we’ve had a release where we’re sure both of those things are true, then we can’t release.

“It could be March [2026],” he added. “We release things every four months so December would be the next one and then March after that, so I would certainly hope that March could happen, but I’m not going to promise anything. Because ultimately it just comes down to: have we met those two criteria? At this point it would be quite hard to get Act 5 in December but we’ll see about that, and as for getting good balance: we have a little way to go with that. But I’m hoping things will be a lot better for this release.”

Watch on YouTube

The release he’s referring to is the Third Edict, the enormous incoming update for the Early Access version of Path of Exile 2, due 29th August. It will bring, among other things, the fourth act of the game, temporary interlude acts, the game’s first League, a new trading system, a crafting overhaul, a sprinting mechanic, an overhaul for Support Gems and a considerable rework of the existing classes and their skills. Note that there’s no new character class this time around but balance changes took precedence.

I’ll outline some of those changes but before I do there are two other pieces of more urgent news. One is in relation to server issues Path of Exile 2 has been having, which Rogers said were down to DDOS (distributed denial of service) attacks. “I’m very aware of the server problems and this has been a major thing that our server admins have been looking into over the last three months,” he told our congregated group of press. “It’s basically all down to DDOSing; we’re getting DDOSed continuously.”

Grinding Gear Games has, in response, gotten rid of server hosts that couldn’t deal with the problem and added DDOS protection to those that remain. “By the time we do the 0.3.0 launch,” he said, “everything should have DDOS protection in front of it. We’ve done a lot of work in this area. Right now the servers shouldn’t be having any problems because all of that infrastructure’s in place, so as far as I’m concerned, that problem should be fixed.”

Shark monsters, check; octopus-armed pirate captain monster bosses, check…

The other urgent piece of news concerns a free weekend for Path of Exile 2, which will coincide with the Third Edict update on 29th August. For that weekend, you won’t need the £24 Starter Pack in order to play. And I heartily recommend you do play.

Now, to the Third Edict update. The long-awaited fourth act of the game – the penultimate act – takes place across a Polynesian kind of archipelago which you can sail around in any order you please. There are eight islands, 16 new areas, 12 new bosses and more than 100 new monster types. And when you’re done with them, instead of being funnelled back to replaying the existing acts, as you are currently, you will now play new interlude acts. Three of them. These are bespoke versions of the existing acts designed to offer a new experience, meaning yet more new areas and bosses and ideas. But these are temporary; when Act 5 does arrive, they will go.

The big change to Support Gems comes via removing the restriction of having one Support Gem type per character, and from introducing higher tiers of them. There’s also a brand new kind of uber Support Gem called a Lineage Support, which drops from bosses and has the power and potential to redefine your entire character build.

Sprinting is available to all classes and lets you hold down a button to get to places quicker and to outrun enemies, which sounds useful, but if you’re hit while sprinting you will be knocked down, so there’s some risk to it.

…monkey bosses, check. | Image credit: Grinding Gear Games

The myriad class changes are too exhaustive to list, but every class has been looked at and quite significantly altered and buffed. Arguably the most important addition, I say completely without bias as a monk player, is the ability for monks to fight with their bare hands, rather than with a staff, courtesy of the new Hollow Palm Technique. Thank you Grinding Gear Games.

The new, fully asynchronous trade system, meanwhile, gives you a personal merchant – a nice lady called Ange – who’ll stand in your hideout and sell your wares for you. Your items will be listed on the trade website and when someone wants them, it will teleport them directly to your Ange who’ll sell to them, even when you’re not around.

The crafting changes have made it easier to transform and augment items into super-items. Essences and orbs have been reworked and higher tiers of them added, and there’s a brand new Exceptional base item to collect and apply all these juicy bonuses too.

Elsewhere, blocking and parrying have been reworked, more passive skills have been added to the already ridiculous passive tree – and passives with interesting abilities at that, not just percentage bonuses – plus attribute requirements for items have been lowered by a quarter across the board.

On top of all that we’re getting the game’s first seasonal League – the hope is to have one with each major update – called Rise of the Abyssal. This places you (a new you, I think) in a world plagued by abyssal invaders, and has you closing fissures and pits to the abyss that appear. It’s got some clever procedural ideas about the kinds of boss creatures that crawl out of the pits, and there’s the chance of finding a pit you can jump into, which will lead you to an abyssal city.

In other words: there’s a lot, and there’s more I haven’t covered here. It’s a significant effort by Grinding Gear Games to about-turn mixed recent reactions to the game. We’ll have to wait and see if it works.
