This week’s free Epic Games Store games have been revealed

by admin June 5, 2025

With the weekend finally in sight (we just need to make it through this year’s Summer Geoff Fest first), it’s all change on the Epic Games Store. A fresh set of freebies are now available to download and keep, and one of them is Arkane Studios’ ultra stylish Deathloop.

Epic’s latest free games – which replace last week’s offerings of Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands and Limbo – can now be claimed, and come in both PC and mobile flavours. You will, of course, need to be in the EU to access Epic’s mobile store on iOS, but it’s available worldwide via Android devices worldwide. But regardless of your point of entry, here’s what free right now:

  • Deathloop (PC)
  • Ogu and the Secret Forest (mobile)

Deathloop launch trailer.Watch on YouTube

Deathloop, if you’re unfamiliar, traps players on the 1960s-styled island of Blackreef, where they’ll need to assassinating eight key targets before they can out their escape. The trouble is, the entire place is court in a time loop, meaning everything needs to be done before the day resets. And worse, another assassin is on your trail. It’s part exploratory immersive sim, part chaotic shooter and was good enough to earn itself an Eurogamer Essential backing the day.

As for Epic’s other freebie this week, Ogu and the Secret Forest is a hand-drawn exploration adventure promising puzzles, mysteries, an more. “Befriend bouncy characters, explains the official blurb, “and defeat strange creatures to unravel the mystery of the charming world.”

Deathloop and Ogu and the Secret Forest are available to download and keep via the Epic Games Store right now and will remain so until next Thursday, 12th June. After that, Two Points Studios’ fantastic Theme Hospital spiritual successor Two Point Hospital, will take their place.

Nioh 3 officially revealed – and it’s not a PlayStation exclusive, even if there’s a demo you can only play on PS5

by admin June 5, 2025

As part of the PlayStation State of Play, we got treated to the surprise reveal of the next game in the Nioh action RPG series. It’s simply titled Nioh 3, and it’s going to be changing so much of what we know about Nioh.

Nioh 2 is set for release in early 2026.

First, the game is not a timed PlayStation-exclusive, which is great to see (and a first for Nioh). It will be available on PC and PS5 simultaneously when it arrives next year. The even more surprising news is that there’s a demo available right now, though sadly only on PS5.

This is the alpha demo, which implies there’s going to be at least one more demo – beta – prior to launch, if Team Ninja’s history with Nioh is anything to go by. The demo is available only until Wednesday, June 18

Nioh 3 takes place in Japan’s Sengoku period, and stars a new protagonist; a young warrior (Tokugawa) set to be the next Shogun. Obviously Yokai are in the mix here right alongside human enemies.

Nioh 3 is described as an “open field” game, which is a major change for the series. It’s interesting that Team Ninja didn’t call it outright open world, though perhaps the negative criticisms Rise of the Ronin drew for its open-world structure may have had a hand in that.

Regardless, gameplay areas look to be more open than past Nioh games, even if the trailer doesn’t show much of that.

Watch on YouTube

Perhaps the most interesting detail was made in this PlayStation Blog post, where Nioh 3 general producer Fumihiko Yasuda revealed that combat has two main styles: Samurai, and Ninja.

Both styles can be switched between on the fly. The Samurai style is described as the most similar to other Nioh games, though stances weren’t mentioned in the breakdown. The Samurai style also comes with new additions, so it’s not entirely similar. The post mentions Arts Proficiency, which boosts the power of martial arts – an area that’s typically been neglected in Nioh games. There’s also Deflect, which is effectively a parry system.

Then there’s the Ninja style, which has faster movements, and unlocks a host of aerial actions. This is where the Ninjitsu techniques now sit, and some of the abilities discussed include leaving behind a clone after attacking.

Nioh 3 looks to be a big step forward for the series, so we’ll have to wait until we get our hands on it to find out whether Team Ninja has been successful at evolving its formula this time around.

007 First Light revealed as Hitman devs take on James Bond origin story

by admin June 5, 2025

IO Interactive has finally pulled the curtain back on 007 First Light, a third-person action-adventure game about the origin of James Bond.

Revealed during the PlayStation State of Play on January 4, 2025, 007 First Light tells a completely original Bond story developed in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios.

What is 007 First Light about?

It’s IOI’s first outing with Bond, and it’s not connected to any of the movies or actors from the big-screen franchise. Instead, it introduces a younger, rougher Bond, before the tuxedos and martinis.

Article continues after ad

Set years before Bond becomes the 007 we know, First Light kicks off with a 26-year-old James Bond working as a Navy air crewman.

After a reckless but heroic act of bravery, he’s recruited into MI6’s toughest training program. From there, players will follow Bond’s transformation into an elite secret agent, learning when to shoot, when to sneak, and when to disappear.

“This is Bond as you’ve never seen him before,” IO Interactive said in their official reveal. “A man with sharp instincts, still learning the rules of the spy game.”

The game will feature iconic characters like M, Q, and Moneypenny, plus new faces like Greenway, Bond’s mentor.

IOI is known for its Hitman series, and we expect they’ll bring that same world-class stealth and sandbox gameplay to First Light. Expect a mix of stealth, gadgets, intense combat, and cinematic driving sequences, powered by the studio’s proprietary Glacier engine.

The reveal trailer showed off several globe-trotting locations, from snow-covered peaks to sun-drenched coastlines, promising the exotic flair fans expect from a Bond story.

Platform details & PS5 enhancements

According to the PlayStation Blog, 007 First Light is not only confirmed for PlayStation 5, but will be optimized for PS5 Pro and run at 60FPS in Quality Mode using PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR).

Article continues after ad

However, it’s not just coming to PlayStation, as IOI’s own website advertises that you can wishlist it on Xbox, Steam, Epic Games Store and Nintendo Switch 2.

Is there a release date?

IO Interactive has set a 2026 release window for 007 First Light. More details, including gameplay reveals and story breakdowns, will be shared during the IOI Showcase on June 6, 2025.

Everything Revealed During Sony’s PS5 State Of Play 2025

by admin June 5, 2025

Today, Sony held its latest State of Play and while it didn’t include some of the bigger games that people were likely hoping for, like a new God of War spin-off, it did include some cool surprises, including what might be the best-looking fighting game I’ve seen in years and a remake of a beloved Final Fantasy title.

Tears Of The Kingdom’s Newspaper Questline And The State Of Hyrulean Journalism

Here’s the full State of Play if you want to watch it all:

Lumines Arise

This fun announcement kicked off the 45-minute show. It’s from the devs behind Tetris Effect, and it looks (and sounds) awesome. This one is coming to PS5 and PSVR2 in Fall 2025.

Pragmata delayed again

Capcom had a new gameplay trailer for its long-awaited space-adventure-action-horror game featuring a young robot girl and a cool astronaut dude fighting robots. The game was set to come out in 2022, got delayed until 2023, and then got delayed again. Now it’s set to arrive in 2026.

Romeo Is a Deadman looks wild

Zombies attack, nearly killing Romeo, but luckily his grandfather shoves a big sci-fi thing into his head and turns him into a sword-wielding half-dead undead killer. Okay, I’m interested. This one is “maybe” arriving in 2026. No shock that Suda51 and Grasshopper Manufacture are behind this wild-looking game.

Silent Hill F arrives in September

I’m very happy that we’ve entered a new and better era for the Silent Hill franchise after so, so many years of crap and lukewarm slop. This latest entry looks very different than past games, but still seems properly foggy, spooky, and creepy. And that’s all I need in a Silent Hill sequel. Don’t have to wait long for this one as it launches September 25, 2025.

Bloodstained: The Scarlett Engagement is revealed

Surprise! We are getting a new Bloodstained game. What started back in 2015 as a crowdfunded attempt to make a new Castlevania-inspired 2D action game has expanded into a large franchise of its own. And it’s about to get bigger when this new entry arrives sometime in the future on PS5.

Digimon Story Time Stranger

Wow, it’s wild how much better Digimon games look than Pokémon games. This latest time-traveling RPG set in the universe features some slick visuals and a lot of people screaming about the digital world. As someone living in 2025, I’m fine with the digital world being burned to the ground. Time Stranger is out October 3, 2025.

Final Fantasy Tactics is finally getting a remake

You can read more about this in our story here, but suffice it to say that the legendary tactics RPG is, at long last, getting the remake fans have been clamoring for for ages.

And a montage of trailers and release dates:

Sony devoted a few minutes to sharing trailers and a few bits of info on these four games, one of which is launching on PS4. Wild.

Mortal Kombat Legacy Collection looks amazing

Digital Eclipse, the retro game wizards behind some excellent old-school video game collections, is taking on the Mortal Kombat series in 2025. Legacy Collection will contain a ton of games from the series, including handheld, console, and arcade ports, as well as rollback netcode and documentary content. I’m very excited to see more of this thing.

Sony is making a fight stick

Not much info beyond that. Here’s Sony’s official description of the device:

Join the fray at home or away with the Project Defiant wireless fight stick*. Take the fight to your opponents with the included sling carry case, and enjoy precise in-game response with ultra-low latency wireless and wired play options, along with a durable, ergonomic design that’s built for battle.

New Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater trailer

The Ape Escape mode is back and looks bigger than before. But the big news is at the very end, where Konami is teasing what looks like a multiplayer mode. Is Metal Gear Online returning? I hope so.

Nioh 3 is coming in 2026, a demo is out now

Team Ninja is back with Nioh 3. The game will let players swap between a samurai and a ninja on the fly during combat, and looks slick as heck. This one drops in 2026, but you can check out a demo for it today on PS5.

Thief VR spin-off coming to PSVR2 this year

When I saw this trailer, I thought, “Hey, this looks like a new Thief game.” And I was right. Thief VR Legacy of Shadow arrives in 2025 and is being co-developed by Eidos-Montréal and Vertigo Games.

Tides of Tomorrow looks like a colorful Waterworld game

I love colorful-looking games, so Tides of Tomorrow instantly caught my eye. The mix of online asynchronous gameplay and having to deal with other people’s decisions in a dying and flooded world sounds interesting. Tides of Tomorrow arrives in February 2026.

Astro Bot is getting even more levels!

One of the best PS5 games ever made, Astro Bot, is getting even more free levels later this month. Five new levels will soon be added to Astro Bot. And Sony is bringing back the fan-favorite Astro Bot PS5 controller that sold out instantly last year.

Sea of Remnants is another colorful pirate game

Wait a minute, another colorful and fun-looking ocean-based adventure game? That’s strange. But anyway, this third-person pirate game has a cool style and big bosses to fight. and ship gameplay. And mermaids. It arrives on PS5 in 2026.

Sword of the Sea is coming to PS Plus

The people behind Abzu and Pathless have a new game coming out, and it looks like you’ll be doing a lot of sick sword surfing. This launches on PS Plus on August 19.

More games coming to PS Plus Classic Catalog

  • Deus Ex’s PS2 port – Jun 17
  • Twisted Metal 3 and Twisted Metal 4 – July 15
  • Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 – Later this summer

007 First Light reveals its new Bond

“Bond is a bullet without a target. Let’s give him one.” This new trailer looks exciting as heck, but I’m really bummed by how boring the new Bond himself looks. This is out in 2026. Read more here.

Ghost of Yotei will get its own digital event

Sony is promising a big gamepaly deep dive for Sucker Punch’s upcoming samurai game. Expect to learn more in July.

Arc Systems Works is making a Marvel fighting game

Well, this is a wonderful surprise. Sony, Marvel, and Arc System Works (Guilty Gear, BlazBlue, Dragon Ball FighterZ) are teaming up to make a 2.5D Marvel Comics tag-team fighting game. And it looks sick as hell. Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is coming out in 2026 on PS5 and PC.

Here’s a separate video Sony posted about how the game came about and the work going into it:

007 First Light officially revealed as the title for Hitman dev’s James Bond game, and we’ll see it in action later this week

by admin June 3, 2025

IO Interactive has officially dropped the first real news on its in-development James Bond game since it was initially announced back in 2020. The game is called 007 First Light, and IO revealed it with nothing but a single piece of art on Twitter.

The good news is that we won’t have to wait too long to actually see more, because IO is planning some big events this week.

Alongside this teaser, the developer also announced its first-ever showcase. Dubbed IOI Showcase, the event is being held in person in Los Angeles this Friday, June 6. It’s also going ot be livestreamed, of course, kicking off at 6pm PT, 9pm ET, 2am UK.

As you may have already realised, that’s a few hours after Summer Game Fest’s kick-off show, which will be going live 2pm PT on the same day. It’s very likely that Geoff Keighley’s show will bring a first-look teaser that directs viewers towards the showcase taking place a couple of hours afterwards.

The IOI Showcase will deliver our first look at gameplay, but it’s also going to offer some updates on IOI Partners games such as the upcoming MindsEye, as well as some Hitman news for good measure.

007 First Light does not have a release target, and though it was initially announced as a multi-platform title (and the start of a trilogy), the only officially confirmed one of those is the upcoming Switch 2. The game will very likely also be released day-and-date on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. Friday’s event will no doubt clear all that up for us, and maybe even provide a proper release date for one of the most mysterious games currently in development.

007 First Light is an origin story with an original character that’s not based on any existing Bond portrayal in the films. It stars a young James Bond with his own stories in a separate canon.

The Witcher 4's northern setting revealed in new Unreal livestream

The Witcher 4’s northern setting revealed in new Unreal livestream

by admin June 3, 2025

The Witcher 4 will be set in the far northern region of Kovir, not yet seen in the previous games.

Earlier today, we saw a first in-game look at CD Projekt Red’s forthcoming Ciri-starring sequel at the State of Unreal livestream. It showed off how the studio is using Unreal’s technology, but also hinted at the game’s location.

The end of the trailer shows a first look at Lan Exeter, the winter capital of the Kovir region. In a press release, the studio has confirmed the sequel will take place in Kovir.

State of Unreal 2025 Official 4K Livestream I Unreal Fest OrlandoWatch on YouTube

The kingdom of Kovir and Poviss is to the far north of the world, beyond the Dragon Mountains. It’s fitting, then, that as Ciri peers out to the city beyond snow-capped mountains, a dragon flies overhead.

Earlier, the tech demo showed the city of Valdrest, which appears to be a new creation by the studio.

If Kovir sounds familiar, it’s referenced in The Witcher 3 by Triss as she’s asked to be court advisor to King Tancred in Kovir. Geralt is less keen to settle down in the region, though.

But perhaps he does ahead of The Witcher 4? Fans have speculated he may be the leader of the new Lynx Witcher school, from which Ciri learns her skills. And when that lynx medallion was first revealed it was in the snow, perhaps foreshadowing the cold northern region in which the game will take place.

The trailer also revealed Ciri’s horse Kelpie, just like in the books.

CD Projekt Red stated the game was running on a base PS5 at 60fps with ray tracing turned on. Here’s a look at some screenshots:

In the company’s financial call in March, CD Projekt Red stated The Witcher 4 won’t be out until after 2026, suggesting it could even be a next-generation game.

One Piece’s Chopper revealed in all his furry live-action glory

by admin June 1, 2025

After a tease in Netflix’s One Piece season 2 announcement way back in September 2023, Tony Tony Chopper, the Straw Hats’ resident reindeer-doctor, has officially boarded the pirate ship. Netflix revealed the beloved sidekick’s “live-action” look during its 2025 Tudum stream. Netflix also announced that actor Mikaela Hoover (Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3, July’s Superman) provided Chopper’s voice and motion-capture.

One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda, who has previously gushed over his experience working on the Netflix show, calling it his “last chance” to bring the manga to the masses, previously announced Chopper’s inclusion in the season 2 cast. And what would One Piece be without the wily doc? Not only has Chopper been around for most of Monkey D. Luffy’s quest to be the greatest pirate on the high seas, but his transformations over the years have served as a foundation for Oda’s evolving vision for the long-running series.

His look in the live-action series was a big question, answered with respectable levels of CG. In season 2, Hoover joins the original Straw Hats cast of Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero and Taz Skyla.

Season 2 will also see a slew of new actors and characters, many of whom will attempt to kill Luffy. Look at this list:

According to the aforementioned data source, the largest SHIB holder is the wallet that has been accepting unwanted Shiba Inu coins since early 2021 – one of the SHIB burn addresses. The @susbarium X account has addressed the Shiba Inu community, giving them an important warning about a new scam project targeting SHIB enthusiasts.

This time, scammers are using a major Shiba Inu partner, the Bad Idea AI (BAD) project.

To secure SHIB holders, the post published by @susbarium contains signs that help to spot this scam and specific guidance on how to stay safe and secure one’s crypto from being stolen.

The @susbarium social media post shared three additional signs of this scam. This portal mimics the design of the official BAD website. It requests that users connect their wallets to the platform to verify BAD rewards. The last sign is that this website issues “misleading messages suggesting eligibility verification before claiming tokens.”

Therefore, @susbarium warns, it is important not to connect wallets to suspicious crypto web sites. The second rule is the necessity to “verify official announcements from trusted sources before making transactions.”

The last recommendation is that it is important to report scams to SHIB community moderators and warn other SHIB holders as well.
