Complete History Of Middle-Earth Collector’s Box Set Restocked With $170 Discount

by admin October 4, 2025

After selling out earlier this week, The Complete History of Middle-earth: Collector’s Box Set is back in stock at Amazon with a massive discount. The 5,440-page, three-book collector’s set is on sale for $80.65 (was $250) in Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days book promotion. The 68% drop–nearly $170 off–is the steepest price cut offered by Amazon since William Morrow published the collector’s set in 2020. Since Amazon has already sold out of this deal multiple times this week, you probably shouldn’t wait too long to snag this one. Like many other J.R.R. Tolkien and Lord of the Rings book deals Amazon is offering this weekend, you need to be a Prime member to get The Complete History of Middle-earth for this low price.

Alternatively, all four of the 2024 hardcover box sets collecting The History of Middle-earth and The Silmarillion are on sale for up to 66% off.

$80.65 (was $250) | Restocked on October 4

Published in 2020 with an MSRP of $250, The Complete History of Middle-earth is a wonderfully designed and constructed box set. Each book is heavy, but even the 2,000-plus page second volume offers a pleasant reading experience. Each book comes with a dust jacket and can be stored and displayed in a premium, custom-built case emblazoned with J.R.R. Tolkien’s iconic logo.

Based on Tolkien’s Legendarium–a massive collection of backstories, lore, and notes covering Middle-earth throughout thousands of years–The History of Middle-earth was originally published from 1983-1996. Christopher Tolkien, the author’s son and literary executor, compiled, edited, and added to the legendarium to create 12 distinct books.

The Complete History of Middle-earth contains all 12 volumes in their original publication chronology:

  1. Book of Lost Tales, Part I
  2. Book of Lost Tales, Part II
  3. The Lays of Beleriand
  4. The Shaping of Middle-earth
  5. The Lost Road and Other Writings
  6. The Return of the Shadow
  7. The Treason of Isengard
  8. The War of the Ring
  9. Sauron Defeated
  10. Morgoth’s Ring
  11. The War of the Jewels
  12. The Peoples of Middle-earth

At 5,440 pages across three books, it’s probably safe to say that these would be the largest books on most fans’ bookshelves. Each of the three volumes was also published individually on the same day as the box set, but at current prices, you’d spend more for two of them than you would for the box set.

The History of Middle-earth Box Sets (2024)

The History of Middle-earth 2024 Box Sets

Though The Complete History of Middle-earth is the most economical way to read all 12 volumes in physical format, the 2024 box sets are certainly worth a look, too. These gorgeous sets include splashy, fully illustrated dust jackets and display cases. If you prefer a more traditional look, the other side of the reversible dust jackets feature the original graphics with solid-color backgrounds.

All 12 volumes are included as individual books across the four sets, but if you go this route, you’ll also get a few extra books. Publisher William Morrow decided to include The Silmarillion as the first book in Box Set 1. The Silmarillion, Tolkien’s best-known work besides The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, is often lumped in with The History of Middle-earth these days–and it makes sense why. Early drafts and parts of the 1977 classic are actually in the 12-volume series. Box Set 1 also includes Unfinished Tales, while the final set has a book-length index.

William Morrow continued its series of decorative Tolkien hardcover box sets this summer with Tolkien Myths and Legends, a four-book box set that’s on sale for $53.70 (was $125), and The Great Tales of Middle-earth, which contains Tolkien’s final three novels and is on sale for $75 (was $125).

Amazon’s early Prime Big Deal Days book sale is filled with Tolkien books, including multiple collectible editions of The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and The Silmarillion.

Back To The Future Trilogy 4K Steelbook Preorders Restocked At Amazon

by admin September 28, 2025

Back to the Future’s upcoming 40th Anniversary Steelbook Edition 4K Blu-rays are back in stock and discounted at Amazon. Fans of the classic film trilogy can preorder Back to the Future’s Steelbook Edition for $30; Back to the Future II is up for grabs for $28, and Back to the Future III is only $25. The 40th Anniversary Trilogy Box Set is available to preorder for $45. Unfortunately, Amazon’s exclusive Limited Edition Gift Set remains sold out, and it’s unclear if it will be restocked again. All Back to the Future 40th Anniversary Edition products launch October 14.

Quick look: Back to the Future: 40th Anniversary Trilogy Lineup

$30 (was $35) | Releases October 14

Back to the Future’s new Steelbook Edition is a three-disc set with 4K Blu-ray, 1080p, and digital versions of the movie. The third disc is strictly for the extensive collection of bonus features.

The front cover shows Marty McFly staring at his watch (yet again) and the DeLorean Time Machine is seen speeding toward the iconic Back to the Future logo. All three cases remix the original movie posters with memorable snapshots from the movies. The interior artwork recreates one of the letters Marty writes to Doc Brown in Lou’s Cafe as well as the newspaper clipping about saving the clock tower and other notes and documents from the movie.

Here’s the list of brand-new special features that are exclusive to the new Back to the Future Steelbook Edition and 40th Anniversary Trilogy box sets.

Back to the Future: New 40th Anniversary Special Features

  • 40 Years Later: Reflecting on Back to the Future
  • Back to Hill Valley
  • Untold Stories of Back to the Future
  • TCM Classic Film Festival Panel
  • A Mystery in History

Co-writer and producer Bob Gale reflects on the cultural impact of the films in one of the new documentaries. There’s a tour of the location that was used to create the town of Hill Valley in the movies, crew members share untold stories of the production, and there’s even a featurette about tracking down one of the iconic props from the first movie. All of the bonus content from previous 4K and 1080p releases is included, too. We’ve included that list with the 40th Anniversary Trilogy collection.

$28 (was $30) | Releases October 14

Back to the Future II is generally considered the weakest entry in the series, with most fans favoring either the first or third movie. It also happens to have the smallest list of bonus features. Unlike the other two movies in the trilogy, Back to the Future II doesn’t need an extra disc just for special features. It still comes with 4K, 1080p, and digital versions of the film, and the case art is awesome.

Back to the Future 2: Special Features

  • Audio Commentary with Bob Gale and Neil Canton
  • Q&A Commentary: Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale
  • Tales from the Future: Time Flies
  • The Physics of Back to the Future
  • The Making of Back to the Future Part II
  • Making the Trilogy: Chapter Two
  • Production Design
  • Storyboarding
  • Designing the DeLorean
  • Designing Time Travel
  • Hoverboard Test
  • Evolution of Visual Effects Shots
  • Photo Galleries
  • Theatrical trailer
  • Outtakes
  • Deleted scenes

$25 (was $30) | Releases October 14

Like the first movie, Back to the Future 3 comes with 4K Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and digital editions of the movie as well as an extra Blu-ray dedicated to an extensive list of bonus features. You’ll notice near the bottom of the list that you get two episodes of Back to the Future: The Animated Series. If you want to watch every episode, you can grab the four-disc DVD box set for only $10.88 (was $17).

Back to the Future 3: Special Features:

  • Audio Commentary with Bob Gale and Neil Canton
  • Q&A Commentary with Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale
  • Tales from the Future: Third Time’s the Charm
  • Tales from the Future: The Test of Time
  • The Making of Back to the Future Part III
  • Making the Trilogy: Chapter Three

  • 2015 Commercials
  • ZZ Top “”Doubleback” Music Video
  • FAQs about the Trilogy
  • The Hollywood Museum Goes Back to the Future
  • Back to the Future: The Musical Behind the Scenes
  • An Alternate Future: Lost Audition Tapes
  • Could You Survive the Movies? Back to the Future
  • Doc Brown Saves the World
  • OUTATIME: Restoring the DeLorean
  • Looking Back to the Future
  • 2 Episodes from Back to the Future: The Animated Series

$45 (was $56) | Releases October 14

With Amazon’s discount, the 40th Anniversary Trilogy is only five bucks more than the existing Ultimate Trilogy.

If you haven’t watched the trilogy on 4K, you’re in for a treat. All three movies support Dolby Vision and even HDR10+, which isn’t all too common. With Dolby Atmos and Dolby TrueHD 7.1 surround sound, Huey Lewis and the News really shine when they perform their signature track, The Power of Love.

All told, the 40th Anniversary Trilogy is an eight-disc collection with over nine hours of bonus content. All of the special features listed under each Steelbook Edition are included. As mentioned, the 1985 original has plenty of other extras beyond the five new featurettes and panels. Here’s the rest of the list:

Back to the Future (1985) Additional Bonus Features:

  • Q&A commentary with director Robert Zemeckis and producer Bob Gale
  • Feature commentary with producers Neil Canton and Bob Gale
  • The Making of Back To The Future
  • Making The Trilogy: Chapter One
  • Tales From The Future: In the Beginning
  • Tales From The Future: Time to go
  • Tales From The Future: Keeping Time
  • Back to the Future Night
  • Michael J. Fox Q&A
  • Original Makeup tests

The car has working gull-wing doors, a lightning rod ready to receive 1.21 gigawatts of power–but please don’t stand outside in a storm with it–a detailed interior, a flux capacitor light brick, and an optional Mr. Fusion energy reactor. Master And Commander Limited Edition 4K Steelbook Restocked At Amazon

by admin September 25, 2025

Back in 2003, audiences were introduced to oceanic battlefields with the release of Master and Commander: Far Side of the World. Featuring an ensemble cast led by Russell Crowe, the film was a big hit thanks its depiction of naval battles during the Napoleonic Wars and strong performances. Last month, Master and Commander finally launched on 4K Blu-ray in the US, but many fans were unable to preorder a copy due to how fast Amazon sold through its stock. If you’re still interested in picking it up, Amazon is once again taking orders for Master and Commander’s Limited Edition Steelbook.

Amazon is “temporarily out of stock” of the recently released Steelbook Edition, but you can place an order and Amazon will deliver it as soon as it replenishes its inventory.

The Steelbook Edition is the only 4K Blu-ray edition available in the US. A region-free standard edition with a slipcover released in Europe, but this version is only sold by third-party sellers in the US and is much more expensive than the $40 Steelbook Edition.

$40 | Available to order on September 25

Master and Commander’s Limited Edition Steelbook features a striking cover of Crowe’s character Captain Jack Aubrey alongside his ship, the HMS Surprise. The back cover has a compass motif, and there’s a subtle cartography influence for the maritime background. The interior artwork shows Aubrey staring out at the ocean.

This is a native 4K remaster (2160p) based on the original camera negative with support for Dolby Vision, HDR10, and Dolby Atmos. The two-disc set includes 4K UHD and 1080p Blu-ray editions of Master and Commander. You’ll also get a voucher to claim the digital edition on Movies Anywhere.

For the extras, there are deleted scenes, a trivia track for history fans, and a pop-up map that tracks Aubrey’s ship across the film.

One thing that’s worth noting here is that the DVD release of Master and Commander offered a greater variety of special features, which never made their way onto previous standard Blu-ray releases of the film. That two-disc DVD edition has been out of print for ages now, and while there are still copies of it available, it can be pricey. Still, if you’re looking to really dive deep into Master and Commander, it makes for a nice companion piece as it has several in-depth documentaries.

Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World 4K Steelbook Edition

Master and Commander has held up very well in the decades since it was first released. The movie is a loose adaptation of the epic historical fiction series by English author Patrick O’Brien, and it tells the story of Captain Aubrey and his pursuit of a deadly French warship–the privateer ship Acheron–that threatens Britain’s naval supremacy. Torn between duty and his friendship with ship’s surgeon Dr. Stephen Maturin (Paul Bettany), Aubrey chases after the Acheron.

Just like several other historical movies released around the early 2000s, Master and Commander had an air of authenticity that helped elevate it. Naval warfare movies were relatively rare back then, and this movie featured period-accurate costumes and language. Filming took place on an actual ship–the HMS Rose–and a specially built full-scale replica that floated inside of a massive tank at Baja Studios in Mexico.

Speaking of Russell Crowe, an Amazon-exclusive Gladiator 2-Movie Steelbook Collection released in May and is in stock for $68. Crowe starred in the original Gladiator (2000), and Paul Mescal took on the lead role in the long-awaited 2024 sequel. Ridley Scott directed both films. Here’s a quick rundown of the 4K Blu-ray editions of Gladiator and Gladiator II that are in stock at Amazon.

Gladiator 4K Blu-rays

Gladiator 2-Movie Steelbook Collection

Another great Ridley Scott film to check out is Kingdom of Heaven, as it recently got a 4K restoration, too. This is the Director’s Cut that includes a ton of extra content, greatly fleshing out several scenes that never made it into the theatrical version. Sadly, the Steelbook Edition of Kingdom of Heaven’s Director’s Cut has been hard to find in stock, but you can get a region-free 4K standard edition.

Set during the Crusades, Kingdom of Heaven follows Balian (Orlando Bloom) as he joins his father, Baron Godfrey (Liam Neeson), on their journey to Jerusalem to reclaim it from the forces of the Ayyubid Sultan Saladin.

Spider-Man Magic: The Gathering Set Restocked Ahead Of Next Week’s Launch

by admin September 16, 2025

Spider-Man swings into the Magic: The Gathering universe next week in the latest crossover set. Most of the MTG Spider-Man products have been sold out since preorders opened back in March, but Amazon has restocked the Marvel’s Spider-Man Play Booster Box and is offering a discount. Normally $209.70, the 30-pack Booster Box is available to preorder for $192 ahead of the Spider-Man set’s September 26 release.

If you’re interested in picking up the Marvel’s Spider-Man Bundle, the Gift Bundle, or Spidey’s Spectacular Showdown Scene Box, we’d recommend checking the links below frequently. Amazon has restocked all three recently. Unfortunately, these Spider-Man MTG products never remain in stock for very long, which isn’t surprising since this is a crossover set starring arguably the most popular superhero in the world.

Magic: The Gathering x Marvel’s Spider-Man:

Take a closer look at all of the upcoming Spider-Man Magic: The Gathering TCG products below. If you’re still looking for cards from Magic’s exceedingly popular Final Fantasy crossover, check out our Final Fantasy x Magic: The Gathering restock tracker. At the time of writing, Amazon has the Starter Kit in stock for $20 and deals on the Commander Decks. You can even get the Commander Deck Bundle for a massive $110 discount that drops the price to $170 (was $280). We’ve rounded up more Magic: The Gathering TCG crossover sets at the bottom of this story, including Avatar: The Last Airbender, which is slated to launch November 21.

$192 (was $209.70)

Magic: The Gathering’s Spider-Man Play Booster Box includes 30 packs. With Amazon’s current preorder discount, you’re saving close to $20. In total, you’ll get 420 Spider-Man-themed MTG cards in each Play Booster Box.

Here’s the breakdown of the card types you’ll pull in each 14-card pack. Each pack also includes a non-foil double-sided token.

  • 6–7 Commons
  • 3 Uncommons
  • 1 Wildcard of any rarity
  • 1 Rare or Mythic Rare
  • 1 Traditional Foil Card of any rarity
  • 1 Basic Land
  • 0–1 MAR

$42

Spidey’s Spectacular Showdown Scene Box includes three Marvel’s Spider-Man booster packs as well as two different sets of six scene cards. You’ll get six Traditional Foil Borderless Scene Cards that you can use when playing the card game. The artwork on those cards is also found on six Art-Only Scene Cards. The art cards aren’t playable, but the Scene Box comes with a display easel to showcase the artwork. Together, the six cards form a cohesive scene featuring Spider-Man and a handful of Marvel villains.

Here are the Scene Cards you’ll find in the box alongside your display easel and trio of booster packs:

  • Grasping Tentacles
  • Venom, Deadly Devourer
  • Green Goblin, Nemesis
  • Doc Ock, Evil Inventor
  • Sensational Spider-Man
  • Pumpkin Bombs

$70

The Marvel’s Spider-Man Bundle has been difficult to find since preorders for the set opened in early March. This isn’t too surprising since MTG Bundles come with nine booster packs valued at $63 as well as numerous other goodies, including a promo art card, a Spidey-themed storage box, and everything you need to start building your deck to play the trading card game.

Here’s the full list of items included in the Marvel’s Spider-Man Bundle:

  • 9 booster packs (14 cards each)
  • 30 Basic Land Cards (15 Foil, 15 Non-foil)
  • 1 Traditional Foil Alternate-Art Promo Card
  • 2 Reference Cards
  • 1 Spindown Life Counter
  • 1 Spider-Man Storage Box

$90

The $90 Gift Bundle has largely been sold out since preorders opened, but Amazon has restocked it numerous times. The only problem is these restocks always seem to sell out in minutes, so you really need to get lucky.

The Gift Bundle comes with everything that’s in the regular bundle as well as a Collector Booster Pack with 15 Rare, Foil, and Special Treatment cards. Another cool aspect is the box itself. The Gift Bundle recreates the cover of Amazing Fantasy #15 (August 1962), the first appearance of Spider-Man.

  • 1 Collector Booster Pack (15 cards)
  • 9 Booster Packs (14 cards each)
  • 30 Basic Land Cards (15 Foil, 15 Non-foil)
  • 1 Traditional Foil Alternate-Art Promo Card
  • 2 Reference Cards
  • 1 Spindown Life Counter
  • 1 Spider-Man Storage Box

$40

Magic: The Gathering Collector Booster Packs are geared more toward enthusiast collectors, but these expensive boosters typically include some very cool foil cards. The $40 Collector Booster features 15 cards and an art card or traditional foil double-sided token:

  • 5 Traditional Foil Commons
  • 4 Traditional Foil Uncommons
  • 1 Traditional Foil Basic Land
  • 1 Traditional Foil Rare or Mythic Rare
  • 2 Non-foil Booster Fun Rare or Mythic Rare cards
  • 1 MAR card
  • 1 Traditional Foil Booster Fun Rare or Mythic Rare

$430

The Collector Booster Box comes with 12 of the $40 Collector Booster Packs detailed above. Though prices have varied–we’ve seen $430-$455–you’re likely to “save” by buying the pricey packs by the dozen versus individually. That said, just like the Collector Booster Pack, this has been sold out for months.

Lord Of The Rings Magic: The Gathering Commander Decks Restocked At Amazon

by admin September 7, 2025

Magic: The Gathering’s Lord of the Rings set is back in stock at Amazon. The retailer has Tales of Middle-earth Commander Decks for huge discounts compared to launch prices. The LOTR Commander Decks sold for $70 when the crossover set launched in June 2023, but Amazon is selling them for around $50 each. And if you’re also interested in the recently released Final Fantasy set, Amazon has the Final Fantasy Commander Deck Bundle for $175 (was $280), a new all-time low.

The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth Commander Decks:

The first three Commander Decks in the list above are shipped and sold by Amazon. Unfortunately, the fourth is currently sold out, but Amazon briefly had it in stock a couple weeks ago, so it’s worth checking the link just in case. Also, while Amazon normally doesn’t accept returns for trading cards, Riders of Rohan is listed as eligible for free returns.

Each Commander Deck comes with 100 Lord of the Rings-themed cards, including 20 unique cards you won’t find in any other Lord of the Rings MTG product. Commander Decks also include a foil-etched display card of the Commander on the box and a Collector Booster Sample Pack with two cards: one rare or higher Traditional Foil or special treatment card and one Traditional Foil special treatment common or uncommon card. You’ll also get the following accessories: deck box, 10 double-sided tokens, Helper card, Life Wheel, strategy insert, and reference card.

Tales of Middle-earth and other Lord of the Rings MTG cards are often only available via third-party resellers. This means prices tend to jump around quite a bit. While it’s not uncommon to find Scene Boxes for reasonable prices, Commander Decks can be a different story.

More MTG Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth Items:

Magic: The Gathering – The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth Scene Box

Tales of Middle-earth Scene Boxes are available for $39-$45 at Amazon. They are shipped by Amazon but are sold by resellers. The Scene Boxes launched with $41 price tags, so you won’t be overpaying if you pick one up. Each Scene Box includes: 6 Traditional Foil Borderless Scene Cards, 6 Art Cards, 3 Set Boosters, and a paper easel display.

It’s already been a massive year for crossover sets in Magic: The Gathering. The Final Fantasy set became the best-selling set in MTG history before its June release. Many Final Fantasy MTG products remain difficult to find for normal prices, but you can get Commander Decks and the Starter Kit. Marvel superhero Spider-Man slings into the MTG universe on September 26. Like with Final Fantasy, preorders have mostly been sold out for months, but Amazon recently restocked the Spider-Man Play Booster Box. Rounding out the year of crossovers is Avatar: The Last Airbender on November 21. Preorders opened in August, and most products sold out within a few days. As of September 5, the Beginner Box and Jumpstart Booster Box are in stock.

The Toxic Avenger 4K Steelbook Restocked With Huge Price Cut At Amazon

by admin September 4, 2025

The Toxic Avenger remake was considered to be an unreleasable movie for several years, but in 2025, the impossible has become reality. With the unrated cut of the film now out in theaters–and garnering positive reviews for its over-the-top violence and general weirdness–the home media release has been set for October 28. Three different Blu-ray editions of The Toxic Avenger are up for preorder now.

Amazon is offering a steep preorder discount on The Toxic Avenger Collector’s Edition Steelbook that drops the price to only $31 (was $50). There’s also a 4K edition with a lenticular sleeve, but it’s still selling for full price. The Toxic Avenger’s standard Blu-ray edition is discounted to $25.85 (was $38), but keep in mind the Steelbook Edition includes 4K and 1080p Blu-ray discs.

$31.13 (was $50) | Releases October 28

The Collector’s Edition Steelbook of The Toxic Avenger Unrated features the mutated face of Toxie–played by Peter Dinklage–while the back has a cool full-body image of the mop-wielding vigilante as he strikes an action pose. Inside, you’ll find promo images of the movie’s two villains, Bob and Fritz Garbinger, played by Kevin Bacon and Elijah Wood, respectively.

It comes with 4K and standard Blu-ray copies of the movie, and bonus features include a behind-the-scenes documentary, director Macon Blair’s audio commentary track, a video on why the world needs Toxie, a 40th anniversary tribute to the original movie, and the film trailer.

The Toxic Avenger Bonus Features

  • A Toxic Environment: Best of behind the scenes
  • Director’s commentary with Macon Blair
  • Toxic Shock with Tiffany Shepsis
  • 40th Anniversary of the Toxic Avenger retrospective
  • Trailer

$47 | Releases October 28

The Toxic Avenger’s non-steelbook Collector’s Edition comes with a limited-edition lenticular O-card sleeve featuring Dinklage’s character in human and mutated forms. When you remove the sleeve, you’ll see the cover art pictured above. Toxie is once again preparing for battle and is armed with his trusty mop.

Outside of the different packaging, this 4K edition is the same. It also includes a standard 1080p Blu-ray and the handful of special features found in the Steelbook Edition.

But unlike the Steelbook Edition, this hasn’t received a discount yet, making it significantly more expensive at the moment.

$25.85 (was $38) | Releases October 28

The standard 1080p Blu-ray edition is also billed as a Collector’s Edition, but the “collectible” component here appears to be reversible cover art. The unique cover displayed above shows Toxie doing his best Uncle Sam recruitment pose. The alternate cover art matches the 4K edition. The standard Blu-ray edition comes with the same bonus features.

The Toxic Avenger is also releasing on DVD and is available to preorder for $30.

A remake of Troma Entertainment’s 1984 Toxic Avenger movie, the new version spent several years in limbo. Outside of a few premieres in 2023 at film festivals, the future of the movie looked uncertain as finding a distributor to help release it to a wider audience proved to be especially challenging. As one anonymous producer remarked at the time, The Toxic Avenger was deemed an “unreleasable” movie due to its gory nature and a prediction that it would only attract a niche audience to theaters.

Fortunately, various other companies stepped up to the plate and The Toxic Avenger is now out in theaters. If you haven’t seen any of the trailers yet, The Toxic Avenger reimagines the 1984 original movie and stars Dinklage as Winston Gooze, a health club janitor stricken with a terminal illness thanks to his employer. After he approaches his boss for help and finds himself dumped into a vat of toxic waste instead, Gooze is mutated into a revenge-fueled vigilante hellbent on cleaning up his town using any and all violent means possible.

In addition to Dinklage, Bacon, and Wood, the movie also stars JJ Doherty, Jacob Tremblay, Sarah Niles, and Johnny Coyne. Like the original, this new take on the character is designed to be incredibly gory and silly, plus it has a punk-rock attitude. Basically, if you’re in the mood for some brutal violence and laughs, then this might be just the movie that you’re looking for.

The original Toxic Crusder still holds up well

The Toxic Avenger Collection

Even though it’s over 40 years old, the original Toxic Avenger is still worth checking out. You can grab the first film and all of its sequels in a 4K collection for $94.89 at Walmart. While the sequels showed signs of diminishing quality, the first movie is still a work of splatterpunk art thanks to its low-budget charm and low-brow humor. Make no mistake, this is a bad movie, but like several other pieces of media that reach this level, it’s so bad that it’s actually good, and it quickly became a cult-classic after it was first released. The “Toxset” features restored 4K scans of the four movies, as well as standard Blu-ray copies.

The standard Blu-ray version of The Toxic Avenger Collection is available for only $28.57 (was $50) at Amazon and Walmart.

For the bonus materials, there’s a very healthy selection on offer here. The first movie includes behind-the-scenes featurettes, an intro from Troma Entertainment president Lloyd Kaufman, and a few archival materials from the DVD release. The first sequel gives viewers more documentaries, commentary tracks, and interviews, the threequel offers a similar arrangement of extras, and Citizen Toxie, the fourth movie, has one of the best features here in the form of a documentary that runs for over two hours. The fourth Toxic Avenger movie is still divisive amongst the fandom, but this is an uncompromising look at how the movie was made with seemingly no part of the production being off limits for the camera crew.

Yes, there was even a Toxic Avenger animated series

Toxic Crusaders: The SERIES

Finally, you can also complete the collection with the animated spin-off, Toxic Crusaders: The Series for under $20 (was $35). Originally designed to be a not-so-subtle way to sell action figures in the ’90s–all the cool animated shows were doing it–this Blu-ray offers the original 13-episode run, a new introduction by Lloyd Kaufman, the original Toxic Crusaders toy commercials and TV spots, archival footage thought to be lost media, and extra cartoons. As an added bonus, there’s a documentary about the making of the Toxic Crusaders video game from Retroware.

Toxic Crusaders released on Blu-ray last December, and the current $19.84 price is one of the lowest yet.

Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion Limited Edition Preorders Restocked Ahead Of Friday’s Launch

by admin September 1, 2025

Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion’s Limited Edition is back in stock at Amazon and Walmart ahead of the mecha-action game’s September 5 launch on PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Titanic Scion’s Limited Edition had been sold out for most of the summer at all major retailers. The $100 edition is available for all three console platforms and comes with numerous collectibles for only $30 more than the price of the standard edition.

Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion Limited Edition

Developed and published by Marvelous, Titanic Scion’s Switch 2 physical edition includes the full game on the card, just like the other Switch 2 games the studio has made for Nintendo’s new console: Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, which was a Switch 2 launch game, and Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar, which released last week. Titanic Scion’s listed eShop file size is 22.9GB, so opting for the physical edition lets you avoid using 10% of the Switch 2’s 256GB onboard storage on the new mecha-action title. Unlike Guardians of Azuma and Grand Bazaar, Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion will not be available on original Switch hardware.

$70 | Releases September 5

Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion’s standard physical edition is available to preorder for $70 on PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X. The standard edition is in stock at Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, Target, and GameStop.

You’ll also find three different digital versions on Steam, the Xbox Store, the PlayStation Store, and the Switch eShop starting at $70. Digital preorders come with a few in-game items: Bahamut Arsenal Skin, Beguiling Suit, and Victorious Gleam Laser Sword.

$100 | Releases September 5

As mentioned, Titanic Scion’s Limited Edition had been sold out for most of the summer at all major retailers. Now, with less than a week remaining until launch, the $100 edition is back in stock for Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series X at several retailers. the Limited Edition is available on all three console platforms at Amazon, and Walmart has it in stock for PS5 and Switch 2.

The Limited Edition is packaged in an oversized display box with alternate artwork. Inside the box, you’ll find a standard boxed copy of Titanic Scion for the console platform of your choice and numerous collectibles, including an art book, acrylic diorama, and the official soundtrack on CD. Here’s the full list of contents included with the Limited Edition:

  • Physical game in standard case
  • Oversized display box with unique art
  • 3D Acrylic Diorama
  • Full-color Art Book
  • Original Soundtrack on CD
  • 3 Flight Tag Keychains
  • 3 Emblem Patches

That’s a lot of extra content for only $30, so it’s not surprising that the Limited Edition has been difficult to find in stock. Additionally, it’s worth keeping in mind that Guardians of Azuma’s Earth Dancer Limited Edition also dealt with stock shortages and is no longer carried by most retailers–Amazon does have the Earth Dancer Edition in stock at the moment, though.

Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion takes place in a world where people born with unique abilities rebel against the rest of humanity. Eventually, they take control of an array of orbital defense satellites and rule the planet below with an iron fist. What follows is a series of intense mech battles as the warring factions fight for control of the world. You can customize your Arsenal (mech) and explore Titanic Scion’s open world solo or alongside up to two friends in the online cooperative mode.

Titanic Scion is the sequel to the 2019 game Daemon X Machina, which was exclusive to Nintendo Switch at launch. Marvelous ported the first game to PC in 2020, but Titanic Scion marks the franchise’s debut on PS5 and Xbox. GameSpot awarded the original 7/10 in our Daemon X Machina review for its engaging mech combat and surprisingly deep lore.

Returning players will have an advantage when it comes to lore and understanding some references, but Marvelous says the sequel was made for newcomers, too. The story takes place 300 years after the conclusion of the first game, so all of the characters and plot points will be new to all players.

That said, if you want to play the original, be prepared to pay more than you’d probably expect. The digital edition still sells for $60 on the Switch eShop, and the physical edition has been out of print for years. Walmart has Daemon X Machina on Switch for $66 via a reputable third-party seller, and PC players can get a Steam key for $42.49 (was $50) at Fanatical with promo code FANATICAL15.

Disclosure: GameSpot and Fanatical are both owned by Fandom.

Marvelous Inc.’s Nintendo Switch 2 Games: Full file on Game Card

Marvelous Inc. Nintendo Switch 2 games

Titanic Scion arrives just one week after Marvelous launched Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar, the latest entry in the farming life sim series formerly known as Harvest Moon. Grand Bazaar also has two editions for Switch 2: a $60 standard edition and $80 Premium Edition. Guardians of Azuma, meanwhile, is on sale for $60 (was $70) at Amazon. The Earth Dancer Limited Edition only launched on Switch, but you can upgrade physical and digital versions of the new Rune Factory game to Switch 2 for $10 on the eShop.

As mentioned, all three of Marvelous’ Switch 2 games–Titanic Scion (22.9GB), Guardians of Azuma (18GB), Grand Bazaar (7.7GB)–include the full file on the game card. We included the digital edition file sizes in parentheses next to the game titles to roughly note how many gigabytes you’re saving versus buying digital editions.

Another notable third-party game that opted for the truly physical edition route is Cyberpunk 2077. And since the digital edition of CD Projekt Red’s impressive open-world adventure eats up 60GB, the physical edition is even more beneficial from a storage perspective.

Unfortunately, most third-party Switch 2 games available now and on the horizon utilize the Switch 2’s Game-Key Cards, which are license keys in cartridge format. Game-Key Cards grant you the ability to download the game from the eShop. Essentially, you’re buying a digital game, but the card must remain in the system to play it. To be fair, this allows you to sell the Game-Key Card, which you can’t do with eShop games, but the impact on storage space is the same whether you use a Game-Key Card or buy directly from the eShop.

Game Boy Lego Set Restocked At Walmart And Lego Store, Sold Out At Amazon

by admin August 30, 2025

In the latest sign that Lego may not be able to keep up with demand for its 421-piece Game Boy building set, preorders have sold out at Amazon. Up until now, Amazon was the only retailer to offer uninterrupted preorders throughout August. Other major retailers and the Lego Store have sold out multiple times since preorders opened in late July. The good news? The Lego Game Boy is back in stock at Walmart and the Lego Store for $60. The highly anticipated Game Boy Lego set launches October 1, just in time for the holiday shopping season.

If you’re interested in the Lego Game Boy for yourself or as a holiday gift, reserving one would be a smart move. Retailers rarely sell out of Lego preorders, but when they do–the Game Boy is always sold out at a couple of retailers–it can be challenging to find one at launch. It’s unknown if Amazon will reopen preorders, but it’s worth noting that preorders at Target sold out in July and never returned, so this could happen at other stores, too.

Lego Game Boy (72046)

The brick-built Game Boy is almost exactly the same size as the handheld that quickly became a worldwide sensation when it hit store shelves in Japan and North America in 1989. This looks like an awesome display piece, and retro Nintendo fans are sure to appreciate the nostalgic interactive elements.

Part of Lego’s display model series geared toward adult builders and collectors, the Game Boy building kit was teased in January and fully unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con in July. The Game Boy is tied with the Super Mario Piranha Plant as the most affordable display model in the Lego Nintendo lineup. It will be the eighth Nintendo-themed kit designed for adults since the pair kicked off their partnership with a replica of the Nintendo Entertainment System.

$60 | 421 Pieces | Releases October 1

Lego’s Game Boy looks like an authentic homage to the Game Boy DMG, all the way down to the font of “Dot Matrix with Stereo Sound” on the screen lens and the colors of the A/B buttons, D-pad, and Start/Select buttons. The switches and dials on the top and sides of handheld are located right where you’d expect them: power switch on the top left, contrast wheel on the left side next to the battery indicator light, volume dial across from it on the right, and the 3.5mm audio jack on the bottom.

The brick-built Lego Game Boy measures 5.5 x 3.5 x 1 inches, which is very close to the dimensions of the real Game Boy DMG (5.8 x 3.5 x 1.3 inches). Lego’s Game Boy can be displayed at an upright angle by connecting it to the buildable black stand shown above.

Load Super Mario Land or Link’s Awakening into the Game Pak slot.

Along with the Game Boy itself and a buildable stand, the set includes replica Game Paks (cartridges) of two timeless classics: Super Mario Land (1989) and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening (1993). The cartridges can be loaded into the Game Pak slot just like a real Game Boy. You can display the other cartridge on a second buildable stand.

The Game Boy doesn’t have any electronics, so it won’t interact with Lego Super Mario figures, but it does have a cool trick that makes it appear like a functioning Game Boy. The set comes with three swappable lenticular screens: the boot screen that greets you each time you flip the power switch, a still from World 1-1 of Super Mario Land, and the cutscene in Link’s Awakening where you sit next to Marin on a log and have a pretty strange (one-sided) conversation. Tilting the Game Boy creates the illusion of movement, so the the Nintendo logo slides down the screen just like the real boot sequence; Mario moves across the side-scrolling level; and the memorable Link’s Awakening cutscene (briefly) comes to life.

The Lego Game Boy’s interactive features such as loading carts and displaying scenes from actual games is reminiscent of the Lego Nintendo Entertainment System. Released back in August 2020 to launch Lego’s partnership with Nintendo, the 2,646-piece set included the console with a functional top loader, a Super Mario Bros. cartridge, a wired NES controller, and a CRT TV with a stand. There’s a crank on the side of the TV that moves Mario through a side-scrolling level. Even five years later, the NES is arguably the coolest gaming-related Lego set.

Unfortunately, the Lego NES was officially retired late last year, and it’s sold out at every major retailer. A couple months back we noticed Amazon restocked the discontinued set but with an extra $60 added to the price. When Lego Game Boy preorders opened, we wrote here that we wouldn’t be surprised if Amazon sold out of the Lego NES at the inflated $330 price. And that happened within days. At the moment, the Lego NES is only available via resellers, and some of the prices make $330 look like a deal.

Lego Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi launched last October.

Speaking of deals, Lego Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi is on sale for the first time at Amazon and Walmart. Released last October, the 1,215-piece build features pixel art versions of Mario and Yoshi based on their 16-bit sprites. Yoshi walks when you turn the crank on the side, and twisting the dial on the back recreates the animation of Yoshi sticking out his tongue.

The most recent addition to the Lego Nintendo “for adults” lineup is the 1,972-piece Mario Kart set with a large buildable Mario and his famous red kart. It launched in May on the Lego Store for $170 and arrived at major retailers in July. Check out our Mario & Standard Kart review for more details on this charming display piece.

While you wait for the Lego Game Boy to arrive, you could warm-up by building the 540-piece Piranha Plant from Super Mario Bros. The Piranha Plant and Super Mario World models are the only Lego Nintendo sets for adults on sale right now.

Lego Retro Gaming Hardware

Lego Arcade Machine (40805)

Lego has created a few other display model sets based on retro gaming hardware. The other big one is Lego Icons: Atari 2600, a wonderful 2,532-piece build that authentically captures Atari’s legendary home console. Unfortunately, Lego discontinued the Atari 2600 last year. Amazon restocked it recently for normal price, but it disappeared just like the NES.

The Lego Icons: Pac-Man Arcade is still available at major retailers for $270. This impressive 2,651-piece set has a bunch of cool interactive features that make it a stellar collectible for Pac-Man fans. But if you’re looking for a cheaper set in the vein of the Game Boy, check out the adorable 468-piece Lego Arcade Machine. As you can see in the picture above, this isn’t based on a real arcade machine, but it still looks awesome. Plus, the Lego Arcade Machine only costs $40 and includes a gamer-themed minifigure.

It’s not Lego, but there’s also an official brick-built Xbox 360. Part of Mega Bloks’ Collector Series for adults, the 1,342-piece Xbox 360 building set is only available at Target for $150.

Castlevania Complete Series Blu-Ray Preorders Restocked At Amazon

by admin August 30, 2025

Castlevania: Complete Series Limited Edition is finally back in stock at Amazon for $150 (was $155). When preorders first opened July 31, Amazon sold out in less than 24 hours. The pricey box set remained out of stock at Amazon throughout August. Castlevania fans who missed out on preordering the first time have another chance to reserve the collectible box set ahead of its September 30 release. If Amazon sells out again, Walmart also opened preorders for the same price–technically it’s sold/shipped by Gruv–and you can preorder at Crunchyroll for $155.

Castlevania: Complete Series includes all four seasons of Netflix’s original Castlevania animated series. The limited-edition box set is packaged in a fancy faux-woodgrain box that houses the Blu-rays and a handful of collectibles, including an art book Ouija board, Tarot deck, and more.

Castlevania: Complete Series – Limited Edition (Blu-ray)

Notably, this collection does not come with either season of Nocturne. Season 1 of the follow-up series released on Blu-ray last fall, but Season 2 remains stuck on Netflix. To complete your Castlevania Blu-ray collection, you can pick up Nocturne Season 1 for $23 (was $40) at Amazon. Prices in the sub-$20 range for individual seasons of the show are what make Castlevania: The Complete Series a steep ask at full price. At $150, the Limited Edition box set is roughly $95 more than you’d spend buying these three Blu-rays: Seasons 1-2 bundle ($18.77), Season 3 ($19.53), and Season 4 ($20).

$150 (was $155) | Releases September 30

Castlevania: The Complete Series comes with all four seasons of the original animated Netflix show across six Blu-ray discs. The total runtime for Castlevania’s 32 episodes is 13 hours and 20 minutes; episodes range from 22-31 minutes each. Castlevania: The Complete Series is bundled inside a woodgrain-style box with decorative gold trim and a portrait of the main characters.

Here’s the full list of physical and on-disc extras that come with the Limited Edition:

  • 72-page Art Book
  • Ouija Game Board with Planchette
  • Castlevania Tarot Card Deck
  • 2 Window Cling Art Pieces
  • Collector’s Box
  • On-disc bonus content:
    • Art Galleries
    • Storyboards
    • Trailers
    • Production Animatics
    • Voice Actor Interviews

Castlevania debuted on Netflix in 2017 with a four-episode arc. It was a huge hit out of the gate. Season 2’s eight episode arc dropped in 2018 and was followed up by two 10-episode seasons in 2020-21.

The Limited Edition Blu-ray box set looks like a cool collectible and display piece for big fans of Konami’s classic game franchise and Netflix’s stylish adaptation.

We’ve listed all of the Castlevania Blu-rays below for comparison. Buying the first two seasons together is cheaper than grabbing them separately, but there is a Season 1 bundle that includes a cool T-shirt for $20.

To spend even more time with Netflix’s Castlevania series, check out the superb official art book published by Dark Horse in 2021. Castlevania: The Art of the Animated Series is on sale for $27.74 (was $40) at Amazon.

A couple of Netflix’s other animated series based on video game franchises have upcoming Blu-ray releases, too. Season 2 of Arcane: League of Legends launches on 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray on October 21. Just like Season 1, Arcane’s final season is getting two different Limited Edition Steelbooks. Check out our Arcane 4K Blu-ray buying guide for more details.

As mentioned, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will finally release on Blu-ray this October as a Crunchyroll Store exclusive. Fans can preorder Cyberpunk: Edgerunners for $124 (was $155) ahead of its October 23 launch.

Sony’s XM4 Headphones Restocked at Nearly 50% Off, Perfect for Listening to K-Pop Demon Hunters Soundtrack

by admin August 29, 2025

What is good noise? “Golden” by Hunter/X from K-Pop Demon Hunters is good noise. New episodes of Jamie Loftus’ Sixteenth Minute (of Fame) podcast is good noise. The guns firing in the bank heist scene of Michael Mann’s Heat is good noise. What about bad noise? The couple on the bus with you arguing is bad noise. The turbine engines on flight is bad noise. Your cubicle’s neighbor punching away at their mechanical keyboard is bad noise. Wouldn’t it be swell if we could just cancel out the bad noise so we can focus in on the good noise? Well, you can do just that with the Sony WH-1000XM4 wireless noise cancelling headphones. For a limited time, Amazon has them for a whopping 43% off this labor day weekend. Normally priced at $348, you can currently pick them up for a solid $150 off. That means you only have to pay $198.

See at Amazon

The Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones utilize digital noise cancellation to ensure you can hear each and every note or word clearly with no disruptive sounds from your environment coming through. Two microphones in each earcup work together to capture and eliminate surrounding noise when listening to your music, podcasts, or audiobooks, removing it in real time with the help of the HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN1.

The noise-cancelling tech also works to amplify your voice during calls. Five microphones work to deliver clear voice quality. They isolate your voice from any background noise so the person on the other end hears you and just you.

The headphones are designed for all day listening. You can expect a full 30 hours of battery life on a single charge. That’ll last you the whole workday, your commute, and beyond. If you ever find yourself having forgotten to charge it, no need to worry. Just plugging it in for 10 minutes will let you listen for a solid five hours.

Multipoint Connection

One standout convenience with the Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones is that they can be paired with two Bluetooth devices at once. This is great as it allows you to be connected to your phone and a gaming console at the same time. It’s perfect for wanting to listen to your own music or podcasts through Spotify or something while playing a game on your Nintendo Switch. You can take a call without disconnecting and reconnecting anything.

Through Labor Day weekend, you can grab yourself a pair of the Sony WH-1000XM4 wireless noise-cancelling headphones for $150 off. The price is down to just $198 for a limited time.
