DICE lead responds to criticism that Battlefield 6 beta maps were ‘not how Battlefield should be,’ urges everyone to ‘go play some smaller/medium maps in BF3 and BF4 to get a good example of the intensity curve’

by admin August 18, 2025

By all reasonable metrics, the Battlefield 6 beta was a resounding hit. Not only is BF6 already very fun based on the handful of maps and modes we got our hands on, but the two-weekend playtest period broke records for the series on Steam.

The beta wound down this morning with players clamoring for its October 10 launch day, but not without reservations. Among longtime fans, the loudest criticism surrounded map size: The beta lacked a truly big map that captured classic Battlefield chaos.

DICE lead producer David Sirland has been the one to field these complaints over the last few weeks. After the first beta weekend, Sirland assured folks that ‘large maps exist’ in BF6, but the studio chose to test small ones to show it could handle the “full-octane” chaos of CoD.

Then, well, it added yet another small map in weekend two, reinforcing concerns that the full map pool of nine will prioritize CoD run ‘n gunning over Battlefield’s traditional spaced-out firefights.

“That’s not how Battlefield should be,” X user Blasts4Satan replied to Sirland on August 15. “Listen to the veteran players, not the CoD fanboys. This is y’all’s last chance and it’s already looking a little too much like the other game in the room.”

We are very much looking back at our past modern incarnations when it comes to pacing. I’d urge everyone to go and play some smaller/medium map BF3 and BF4 to get a good example of the intensity curve. It is slower and more deliberate on the larger maps, as it was in the past.August 18, 2025

Returning to the thread days later to reply, Sirland reaffirmed that BF6’s pacing is on the same trajectory as the games it’s most inspired by, Battlefield 3 and 4.

“We are very much looking back at our past modern incarnations when it comes to pacing. I’d urge everyone to go and play some smaller/medium maps in BF3 and BF4 to get a good example of the intensity curve,” Sirland wrote. “It is slower and more deliberate on the larger maps, as it was in the past.”

Keep up to date with the most important stories and the best deals, as picked by the PC Gamer team.

It’s true that close-quarters, high-intensity maps are nothing new for the series: BF3 and BF4 had loads of smaller, linear meat grinder maps that folks remember fondly. I remember the disappointment when the only map available in the 2011 BF3 console beta (the PC version got an extra, larger map) was Operation Metro, a cramped trek through grass and tunnels that was unfriendly to vehicles.

Watch On

At the time, I thought BF3 didn’t feel much like Battlefield, but I warmed to it at launch after playing Caspian Border: a wide valley of rolling hills, military compounds, and jet runways that checked every Battlefield box.

Still, Sirland repeatedly saying “large maps exist” and pointing to a 14-year-old game for proof doesn’t inspire much confidence. If large maps were a focus of BF6, you’d think we’d know what they look like by now. It’s reasonable to conclude that the BF6 beta was BF Studios debuting the primary identity of the game: Pretty and destructible maps, cramped gunfights, and sometimes vehicles.

Can The Shiba Inu Developer Push SHIB Price To $0.01? Expert Responds

by admin June 14, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

The vision of Shiba Inu (SHIB) reaching $0.01 has long been a carefully nurtured dream within its community—one rooted in both hope and strategic belief. Supporting this vision, a crypto market expert is convinced that Shiba Inu could ultimately reach the $0.01 bullish target. However, the catalyst behind this explosive price increase reportedly involves the Shiba Inu developer and the series of groundbreaking developments he has allegedly planned for the meme coin’s evolving ecosystem.

Shytoshi Kusama And The Shiba Inu $0.01 Dream

A prominent crypto analyst, Luis Delgado, on X (formerly Twitter), has sparked speculation across the Shiba Inu community, claiming that Shytoshi Kusama, the lead developer of the SHIB ecosystem, still has “several aces up his sleeve.” According to the market expert, these supposed behind-the-scenes developments could act as bullish catalysts, potentially triggering a dramatic shift in the crypto space once revealed.

Delgado’s cryptic message, which concluded with the tag “#1CentDreanSHIB,” has ignited fresh discussions around the long-standing community ambition of seeing Shiba Inu reach the $0.01 mark—a dream that has fueled investor passion since the meme coin’s early rise. While the analyst did not disclose specifics, the statement about Kusama hints at strategic upcoming developments, innovations or even partnerships yet to be deployed within the Shiba Inu roadmap.

With past initiatives such as the Shibarium layer-2 solution, the ShibaSwap Decentralized Exchange (DEX), and the SHIB metaverse laying foundational infrastructure, the stage appears set for the next wave of innovative ecosystem expansions. These prior efforts and milestones have not only strengthened SHIB’s utility and growth but also signaled a long-term vision—one that may soon be accelerated by the Shiba Inu developer’s anticipated plans.

Although $0.01 is an ambitious target for Shiba Inu due to its currently low price, confidence and optimism surrounding the possibility continue to grow within the community. If the analyst’s claim of upcoming developments materializes, they could serve as powerful launchpads to propel SHIB’s next breakout phase. For now, all eyes remain on Kusama and his next moves, despite his continued silence on social media since May 29, 2025.

$0.01 May Be A Dream, But Analyst Says $0.00023 Could Happen

‘Crypto SHIB,’ a market analyst and dedicated SHIB supporter, has just issued a bullish forecast, projecting that the second-largest meme coin could be on the verge of a massive 17X surge in the near future. The analyst maintains strong confidence in SHIB’s future outlook, urging traders and investors to “just hold and be patient.”

Notably, a 17x surge from the Shiba Inu price, which is currently sitting at $0.000011, would propel it to an impressive $0.00023 high. This target is significant, as it effectively eliminates a zero from SHIB’s value and positions the meme coin well above its current all-time high near $0.000088, achieved during the bull run in October 2021.

Splitgate 2 developer responds after Summer Game Fest controversy

by admin June 7, 2025

Ian Proulx, CEO of Splitgate 2 developer 1047 Games, continued his criticism of modern first-person shooters on social media after explicitly calling out Call of Duty during Summer Game Fest.

During the June 6 showcase, Proulx, appearing on stage alongside host Geoff Keighley to promote Splitgate 2, said he was “tired of playing the same Call of Duty every year,” had spent his youth playing Halo, and his desire to see a third Titanfall game.

Primarily appearing at SGF to promote a free battle royale mode for the sequel, Proulx’s choice of headwear, a hat featuring the slogan ‘Make FPS Great Again’, combined with his comments on Call of Duty, drew criticism from viewers.

“I’m not here to apologize but I am here to clarify,” Proulx stated in a post on the official Splitgate 2 Twitter/X account, adding, “This is not a political statement, it is quite literally what it says, so take it at face value.”

“The state of multiplayer FPS games is tragically stale. We hope to fix that, whether you want Arena, Battle Royale, Onslaught, or Map Creator,” he continued.

Following Proulx’s comments, numerous responses pointed out that Splitgate 2 features numerous in-game microtransaction options, many being comparable in their contents to Call of Duty.

“So Splitgate 2 stealth drops a Resurgence-style BR for free, which is cool,” YouTuber JGOD said, adding, “But also decide to drop a $140+ bundle that is advertised as 45% off. ‘Make FPS Great Again, though, hahaha.”

“You threw shade at Call of Duty on stage but copied Warzone’s mechanics for your battle royale and dropped an $80 bundle in Splitgate 2,” one response to Proulx’s post stated.

“I don’t think the game is bad at all. I loved the first Splitgate too. I played it and put money into it. I just pointed out the dissing of other FPS games, then bringing those practices to your game,” the same poster added, prompting 1047 Games to respond.

“We think we’ve put a unique spin on the aspects we share with other games. Monetization is always controversial, but it’s also optional. Glad to hear you enjoyed the last game, hope you enjoy this one too.”

What exactly Proulx meant by calling modern FPS games “tragically stale” isn’t clear but, at least as far as microtransactions go, fans of the genre clearly aren’t convinced that Splitgate 2 does enough to distance itself from the competition.

Hasan responds after being banned from Twitch

by admin May 25, 2025

Banned on Twitch on May 25, 2025, Hasan responded to the suspension notice on the same day, revealing why the streaming platform took action against his account.

The streamer, who primarily broadcasts political commentary and discussion, confirmed on his X/Twitter account that Twitch had issued a “global suspension” on his account.

While the ban is expected to remain in effect for 24 hours from the point of commencement, this is unconfirmed, as Twitch’s correspondence didn’t specify how long the ban would last.

Twitch cited “Improper handling of terrorist propaganda” as the reason for the action taken.

In his May 25 follow-up on X/Twitter, Hasan said: “I covered the motives of the Israeli embassy staff shooter. Twitch ToS dictates a suspension for even critical examination of the manifesto.”

“I believe this is a bad policy for news and press freedom,” he continued, adding, “I’ll take the suspension, but hope Twitch changes this policy in the future.”

In their community guidelines, Twitch states that the platform “does not allow content that depicts, glorifies, encourages, or supports terrorism, or violent extremist actions or acts. This includes threatening to or encouraging others to commit acts that would result in serious physical harm or significant property destruction.”

Hyperliquid responds to CFTC on perpetuals and 24/7 Trading

by admin May 23, 2025

Decentralized finance protocol Hyperliquid submitted formal responses to the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s recent requests for comment on perpetual futures and 24/7 trading.

In a May 22 Medium post, the Hyper Foundation said it submitted two letters to CFTC to help shape emerging U.S. regulatory frameworks. The team described how Hyperliquid’s (HYPE) onchain system already manages trading 24/7 while upholding strong risk controls, user security, and openness.

According to Hyperliquid, its platform lowers risk by utilizing pre-funded collateral and automatic liquidations. The system is more open and resilient than traditional markets because trading occurs continuously and all trades, margin adjustments, and liquidations are visible to the public onchain.

Hyperliquid noted in its remarks on perpetual derivatives that these crypto-native products are already in use and provide advantages like improved liquidity, no rollover requirements, and simpler smart contract integration. Rather than trying to force new products into outdated categories, the team urged the CFTC to adopt a flexible regulatory approach that prioritizes risk and user safety.

The CFTC’s request for comment, which closed on May 21, was aimed at understanding how these fast-growing crypto markets work and whether new rules are needed. No new regulations have been announced yet, but the agency may take action in the future.

With almost 70% in monthly trading volume share among decentralized perpetuals platforms, Hyperliquid has emerged as a market leader. In May, the platform also reached all-time highs for USD Coin (USDC) total value locked at $3.2 billion, fees at $5.4 million, and open interest at $8.9 billion. HYPE is up 85% in the past 30 days, and has risen almost 500% from its April lows.

The team said it hopes to continue working with regulators and sees Hyperliquid as a working example of how DeFi can improve modern markets.
