Gears Of War Reloaded Beta Is Getting Extended With More Maps

by admin June 19, 2025

Last weekend, Gears of War Reloaded had its first multiplayer beta test, and testing will resume this coming weekend. However, the team behind the game wants players to know that it has listened to comments about the first beta, and expanded the hours and the options for the second weekend.

On the game’s social media accounts, Gears of War Reloaded developer The Coalition announced the changes. The start time remains June 20 at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET, but the test has now been lengthened by nine hours to Sunday, June 22 at 9 PM PT / June 23 12 AM ET.

We heard you.

As noted in the post, Execution has been added to the beta alongside King of the Hill on Gridlock, Raven Down (Courtyard and War Machine), and Canals. Team Deathmatch and Gold Rush options are also available.

Gears of War Reloaded is the second remaster of the original game from 2006. All of the post-launch content from the game’s first remaster, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, will be included. Microsoft has also been sending free upgrades for Reloaded to anyone who already has Gears of War: Ultimate Edition.

Microsoft will drop Gears of War Reloaded on August 28 for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC. Cross-platform play and cross-progression will be supported. This will be the first time that Gears of War has appeared on a PlayStation system. Microsoft has yet to confirm that the next game, Gears of War: E-Day, will be cross-platform when it launches in 2026 as part of Xbox’s 25th anniversary.

Gears of War Reloaded second beta weekend extended following a bumpy start last week

by admin June 19, 2025

Gears of War Reloaded developer The Coalition has extended the second weekend of the game’s beta, which along with more time will also include more modes and more maps for participants to check out.

The upcoming weekend’s beta will now run between 20th June 8pm UK time until 23rd June 5am UK time, and feature five maps for both Social Team Deathmatch and Competitive King of the Hill and Execution. Initially, things were planned to be wrapped up within 48 hours and with less variety.

As to why the team has decided to do this? Well, “we heard you,” is what it wrote in a post on social media.

You see, the first Gears of War Reloaded beta weekend didn’t exactly go all that smoothly for the developer, and there were multiple reports from players of server instability as well as technical issues. Many were quite vocal about their experiences.

“Most of the Twitch stream thumbnails are of people sitting trying to find a match. When you eventually can get into a match, everybody is laggy and when you start shooting somebody they just disappear and then randomly you die or they stutter back and forth taking multiple full clips and not dying,” read one such post on social media following the first beta. “I knew the beta was probably gonna be bad but this is just terrible and unacceptable.”

Hopefully things will go a bit better this weekend.

Gears of War Reloaded – which is a revamped edition of the original Gears of War game – will be making its full arrival on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on 26th August.

It will feature faster frame rates and “deeper visual fidelity”, with the studio promising “clarity, smoothness, and immersion that matches the power of today’s hardware”.

Gears of War Reloaded Beta not working

by admin June 14, 2025

It’s been almost 20 years, but chainsawing an enemy or popping their head in Gears of War is as satisfying as ever. And now you can do it on PS5!

Gears of War: Reloaded introduces the third-person shooter to a new generation of youthful gamers who destroy my old ass even though I was playing it likely before they were born. That’s a personal problem, but a bigger problem for more than just me is server issues.

The beta test for Gears of War: Reloaded was flooded with players when it went live, and it appears there was an adverse effect on the game’s matchmaking capabilities. That’s a bummer, but getting domed by zoomers who somehow know exactly where the sniper spawns on each map feels way worse.

Here’s what we know so far about the servers for the Gears of War beta.

Gears of War beta not working – How to fix

Screenshot by Destructoid

The Gears of War: Reloaded beta was having some serious server issues around the time that it launched on June 13 at 2pm CT. The server issues continued into the night, but started to subside a bit.

If you’re still having issues with Gears of War: Reloaded beta not working, it’s worth resetting your console or PC, restarting the beta, or ensuring you have the best settings possible for crossplay to make sure you have the best chance at finding a game.

You can widen your matchmaking search by going into Settings, Account, and then making sure Crossplay is set to On. The other options, Off or Console Only, may limit your ability to find players to match with.

Gears of War Reloaded beta – How to check server status

The best place to check server status for Gears of War is DownDetector. On the launch day of the beta, June 13, there were many reports of the servers having issues, so players quickly found out they were not alone.

Keep in mind, however, that Gears of War: Reloaded is in beta which means there may be more server issues than a normal game launch throughout its two weekends of the test.

Other places to check include @XboxSupport to see if there are any problems, and also the official @GearsofWar account may mention if something is wrong. Otherwise, it may be time to try some other games and come back to the beta to see if it stabilizes hopefully sooner rather than later during the weekend.

Gears of War: Reloaded is not releasing on PS5 in Japan, but Xbox or PC releases will go ahead

by admin June 11, 2025

Despite passing certification on Xbox Series and PC, Gears of War: Reloaded will not release on PS5 in Japan.

According to IGN, the game – scheduled to release on August 26 – will not be available on PS5 due to “regional rating restrictions” and “platform policies.”

“Due to regional rating restrictions and platform policies, Gears of War: Reloaded will not be released for PlayStation 5 in Japan,” Microsoft wrote in a machine-translated statement.

“Domestic players will still be able to play the game on launch day through Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, Game Pass, and Steam. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience caused to players in Japan who have been waiting for the release of this game.”

It’s thought, but not confirmed, that Gears of War: Reloaded was denied release on PS5 due to the ability to slice up enemies, as Japan’s rating board, CERO, has previously taken issue with mutilation, banning both The Callisto Protocol and the Dead Space remake on consoles for that reason.

Interestingly, Gears of War: Reloaded on the Microsoft Store also doesn’t sport a CERO rating, either, but it does say it’s been classified by the International Age Rating Coalition (IARC) instead. It’s not known if the remake failed to secure a CERO certificate first.
