Free League releases OGL for Coriolis: The Great Dark

by admin September 7, 2025

Free League Publishing has released an open game license for their new TTRPG Coriolis: The Great Dark. This allows the community to create and publish their own material freely while using the system:

Free League Publishing today officially released an open game license for their new original sci-fi RPG Coriolis: The Great Dark, allowing community creators to publish material for the game freely, without paying royalties. The license text, and the special logo to be used for the third party publications, are available at the Free League website.”Our vision for Coriolis is for the game’s boundaries to be as vast and endless as space itself,” says lead designer Kosta Kostulas. “We can’t wait to see what stories and worlds the Coriolis community will build.”Free League previously has open game licenses for the award-winning Dragonbane fantasy RPG and the Year Zero Engine game rules system. Dozens of products have been successfully published under these licenses, some of which are listed here and here.

As with the previous third party licenses, the Coriolis: The Great Dark community content license is royalty-free and irrevocable, meaning that it can be updated, but creators will always be able to use any published version. At this point, the new license only covers Coriolis: The Great Dark, not the previous edition Coriolis – The Third Horizon.

Lego's September Releases Set Sail in More Ways Than One

Lego’s September Releases Set Sail in More Ways Than One

by admin September 2, 2025

Thought Lego would take a break from the realm of big boats after it launched One Piece as part of its blockbuster August? Well, thanks to last week’s surprise announcement of a new Pirates of the Caribbean set, we can think again. And yet, it’s not the only boat on the horizon for this month.

After going all out for its big summer release wave in August, things are definitely a bit quieter in September for Lego. But that doesn’t mean big things aren’t coming: the new Black Pearl and a funky Charlie and the Chocolate Factory set bring the boats, while a whole new wave of Wicked sets prepares us for For Good‘s arrival in a couple months. And that’s even before you get into the Spider-Verse swinging in for Lego’s next wave of Collectible Minifigures!

Check out our breakdown below for all the must-get Lego releases this month.

Lego Batman Arkham Asylum

© Lego

A grand upgrade on the classic Arkham Asylum playset from years ago, this nearly 3,000-piece set comes with a whopping 16 minifigures, from Batman and stalwart allies Batwing, Batwoman, and Robin to Arkham Guards and a whole host of deadly inmates like Joker, Harley, Killer Croc, Penguin, Poison Ivy, and more to fill out the myriad wings of the asylum—which itself is jam-packed with Easter eggs and references to Batman history. ($300, available here from September 9)

Lego Wicked Sets

Lego’s off to see the wizard once more—and this time, it means it. While the first Wicked movie got some support from the brickmaker with a couple sets, the arrival of For Good means the company is going all the way out with a huge line, with minidoll sets inspired by key events from the new film. But collectors yearning for minifigure Wicked goodness should rejoicify: there’s both a set of bookends and a huge new Ozian entry to the Lego Wall Art range that brings Glinda and Elphaba to minifigure life alongside the Fab Five themselves from Wizard of Oz and other key characters from the musical.

Lego Wall-E and EVE

© Lego

Years after Wall-E controversially hit the Lego Ideas lineup (remember that issue with the head joint? What a time to be alive), the pint-sized Pixar droid returns, and this time he’s brought some very adorable friends. The newly updated Wall-E build now includes an EVE to pair him up with, alongside M-O, the cleaner droid, and even lil’ Hal, the cockroach! ($70, available here)

Lego Icons Pirates of the Caribbean Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Ship

© Lego

Announced just last week, Lego’s long-awaited return to Pirates of the Caribbean brings us a fresh take on the legendary Black Pearl and some very key minifigures. Of course Jack is included, but Will, Elizabeth, Barbossa, Gibbs, and more flesh out the roundup. ($380, available here from September 12 for Lego Insiders, September 15 widely)

Lego Advent Calendars

It might not even be Halloween yet, but that’s not stopping Lego from getting into a different kind of holiday spirit as it prepares its annual swath of calendar sets. There’s quite a range available this year, but it’s no surprise our favorite of the selection this time around might just be the droid-themed Star Wars calendar, filled with fun minifigures and builds to flesh out your own seasonal workshop.

Lego Ideas Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

© Lego

The next major Ideas set takes us to a world of imagination and the classic 1971 take on Roald Dahl’s whimsical, confection-filled adventure. As well as a host of minifigures inspired by the beloved movie (including, of course, Gene Wilder’s Wonka), this zany build includes a moving chocolate waterfall, Willy’s office, and plenty of candy-themed flora dotted alongside the chocolate river. And yes, there are plenty of golden tickets included. ($220, available here from September 18)

See Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory at LEGO

Lego Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Collectible Minifigures

© Lego

The newest blind-box Collectible Minifigures range returns to the world of Marvel with a twist, swinging into the animated Spider-Verse with a whole series inspired by the second movie in the trilogy, Across the Spider-Verse. The 12-strong lineup includes stalwarts like Miles, Gwen, Peter B. Parker (and Mayday), and Miguel O’Hara; deep cuts like Spider-Byte and the Webslinger; and perhaps a contender for Minifigure of the Year in Werewolf Spider-Man. ($5 each, available here)

The First ‘Tron’ Movies are Finally Getting Modern Releases

by admin August 31, 2025

If Tron: Ares has you wanting to watch the first two movies again, you’re in luck: they’re getting new and improved versions on September 16.

During its Destination 23 showcase, Disney announced full remasters of the original Tron and its 2010 sequel Legacy are coming to Ultra 4K HD and digital. (It’s been a long time since either had physical versions, the last edition was a two-movie Blu-Ray bundle back in 2014.) Physical versions of the two films will come with fancy new steelbook editions seen below and are expected to have the special features at the time of their respective DVD releases back in the day. At time of writing, there’s no word on a price point, and it seems Disney’s got no inclination to re-releasing either film in theaters ahead of October’s Tron: Ares.

© Disney © Disney © Disney © Disney

Speaking of Ares, Disney also used its Destination showcase to reveal Nine Inch Nails’ music from the film will be used in the Tron Lightcycle Attractions at Walt Disney World Resort and Shanghai World Resort, beginning September 15 and 16, respectively. The score and red overlay seen throughout Ares’ marketing will be featured at the attractions for a “limited time.” There’s also a new promo for Ares hyping up its titular hero and the incoming invasion of digital beings to the human world he’ll play a key role in.

Pre-orders for the Tron and Legacy steelbooks aren’t up yet at time of writing, but should be soon. Meanwhile, Tron: Ares hits theaters October 10.

Deus Ex Co-Composer Releases OST Demo Tracks For Free

by admin August 27, 2025

The Deus Ex prequel games, Human Revolution and Mankind Divided, know how to strike a mood, with their excellent art direction, cryptic stories, and of course, the music, which contains gorgeously crafted synth sounds and atmospheres that inspire the mind to sink into their dystopian setting. If, like me, you loved the soundtracks in these games, I’m happy to share that composer Sascha Dikiciyan, known as Sonic Mayhem, has released a bunch of demos from Mankind Divided’s soundtrack entirely for free.

Dikiciyan’s work can be heard on titles spanning from the late ‘90s, like Quake II and Unreal, to more recent games like Mass Effect 3, Borderlands 2, and season nine of The Division 2. In the recently released batch of Deus Ex demo tracks, Dikiciyan has given listeners and fans “direct access (in a way) to my audio hard drive.”

Fragments of the Machine [Data Archive Vol.1] by Sonic MayhemDikiciyan describes the demo tracks, some of which never made it into the official soundtrack release, as “unmixed, unmastered, and even unfinished,” stating:

Between 2015-2016, I composed a large body of music for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and its DLCs. The official soundtrack featured a curated selection, but much of what I wrote for the game–including cues for cinematics, trailers, in-game clubs, as well as drafts, ideas, and even demos–never made it beyond the official release. Until now.

The demos are entirely free, though Dikiciyan asks folks to check out another game he produced the soundtrack for, an upcoming cyberpunk shooter called Metal Eden from Reikon Games (there’s a demo on Steam if you’re curious).

Dikiciyan has also been busy releasing Deus Ex music on his YouTube channel, including long-form cuts of tracks perfect for chilling out to late nights on Neuropozyne (or another substance of your choosing).

NVIDIA releases the next generation of its cutting-edge ‘robot brain’

by admin August 25, 2025

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang is bullish on the future of robotics, and sees it as the chipmaker’s biggest opportunity outside of AI. Today the company announced the next generation of its Jetson AGX system-on-module called Jetson Thor. The developer kit and T5000 production modules are computers designed for physical AI and robotics.

The company has been iterating on these robot brains for a few years now, with each model more powerful than the last. The newest generation is powered by NVIDIA’s Blackwell GPU architecture and offers 7.5 times more AI compute and 3.5 times greater energy efficiency than its predecessor, the Jetson Orin. These chips can run generative AI models, including large language and visual models, to help robots interpret the world around them. “We’ve built Jetson Thor for the millions of developers working on robotic systems that interact with and increasingly shape the physical world,” said NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang.

The module is powered by NVIDIA’s full-stack Jetson software platform, which is purpose-built for physical AI and robotics applications. The company counts Amazon, Meta, Agility Robotics and Boston Dynamics among its robotics clients using Jetson chips, which should give you an idea of who the target audience for this technology is. The Jetson AGX Thor is now on sale for $3,499 as a developer kit, and NVIDIA will sell the Thor T5000 modules for installation in production-ready robots. These will be sold at a wholesale price of $2,999 per module for a minimum order of 1,000 or more.

by admin August 19, 2025

The August Patch Update is here! While we normally direct people to our Patch Updates on social media, Demiplane Discord, and forums, this one is massive and warrants an email to our fantastic community.

We also have two BIG releases for Daggerheart + Vampire: the Masquerade fans listed below!

Daggerheart: Motherboard Campaign Frame

At launch, Demiplane supported the Witherwild and Age of Umbra campaign frame custom rules, with the plan to support additional frames afterwards. The first of those is now available!

The Motherboard campaign frame includes numerous special features and functions that will change how you experience the Daggerheart sheet, including the Clank being restricted, characters having a customizable Ikonis, and your currency being swapped for Quantum. You can even track and roll for scrap, and use that scrap to craft upgrades for your Ikonis.

We hope you enjoy using this new update! We’re already starting work on the next campaign frame, and can’t wait to share it with you.

Unlock the core and experience Motherboard!

Vampire: the Masquerade: In Memoriam
