NVIDIA releases the next generation of its cutting-edge ‘robot brain’

by admin August 25, 2025

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang is bullish on the future of robotics, and sees it as the chipmaker’s biggest opportunity outside of AI. Today the company announced the next generation of its Jetson AGX system-on-module called Jetson Thor. The developer kit and T5000 production modules are computers designed for physical AI and robotics.

The company has been iterating on these robot brains for a few years now, with each model more powerful than the last. The newest generation is powered by NVIDIA’s Blackwell GPU architecture and offers 7.5 times more AI compute and 3.5 times greater energy efficiency than its predecessor, the Jetson Orin. These chips can run generative AI models, including large language and visual models, to help robots interpret the world around them. “We’ve built Jetson Thor for the millions of developers working on robotic systems that interact with and increasingly shape the physical world,” said NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang.

The module is powered by NVIDIA’s full-stack Jetson software platform, which is purpose-built for physical AI and robotics applications. The company counts Amazon, Meta, Agility Robotics and Boston Dynamics among its robotics clients using Jetson chips, which should give you an idea of who the target audience for this technology is. The Jetson AGX Thor is now on sale for $3,499 as a developer kit, and NVIDIA will sell the Thor T5000 modules for installation in production-ready robots. These will be sold at a wholesale price of $2,999 per module for a minimum order of 1,000 or more.

Howl’s Moving Castle Deluxe Limited Edition Novel Is Only $23, Releases Next Month

by admin August 17, 2025

If you’re a big fan of Studio Ghibli’s animated movie Howl’s Moving Castle, you may be interested in adding a gorgeous new edition of the novel it’s based on to your bookshelf. Diana Wynne Jones’ beloved 1986 fantasy novel will be reissued in hardcover on September 9. Howl’s Moving Castle Deluxe Limited Edition is available to preorder at Amazon for $23.24 (was $25). Fans can also preorder a new paperback box set containing the entire World of Howl Trilogy for only $32.

The Deluxe Limited Edition and World of Howl Box Set would look great displayed next to the Steelbook Edition of Howl’s Moving Castle. The 2004 adaptation written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki strays considerably from the source material, but both the film and novel are magical in their own ways.

$23.24 (was $25) | Releases September 9

The Deluxe Limited Edition of Howl’s Moving Castle features beautiful new jacket art, full-color endpapers by artist Devin Elle Kurtz, black-and-white illustrations throughout the novel, and more premium flourishes. The publisher recreated a starry night sky by digitally printing the blue page edges. Bright white streaks resemble shooting stars.

If you remove the dust jacket, you’ll find gold foil-stamped text and shooting star graphics on the front/back covers and spine. The front cover features a well-known line from the novel: “Howl’s quite heartless, you know.”

As this is a limited-edition release, Howl’s Moving Castle fans may want to preorder their copy of the new 352-page hardcover soon. The $25 list price is lower than many standard hardcover fiction releases.

If you’ve never read the novel, Howl’s Moving Castle follows Sophie Hatter after she accidentally attracts the attention of the Witch of the Waste. Transformed into an old woman, Sophie’s only chance at breaking her curse lies within the Wizard Howl’s castle, a mobile base ruled by an infamous heartbreaker who is tormented by dark secrets from his past.

$32 | Releases October 7

Just a few weeks after the Deluxe Limited Edition’s release, Greenwillow Books is publishing Diana Wynne Jones’ complete trilogy as a paperback box set.

Howl’s Moving Castle is the first book in the World of Howl Trilogy. It was followed up by Castle in the Air in 1990 and House of Many Ways in 2008. All three books are standalone stories with different protagonists, but Howl appears in both of the follow-ups, so you should definitely read Howl’s Moving Castle first.

Castle in the Air follows unsuccessful carpet salesman Abdullah as he daydreams about a more adventurous life. House of Many Ways focuses on Charmain Baker as she explores a family home that can bend time and space.

All three novels are also available individually in paperback, and standard edition hardcovers with durable library bindings of the first two books are in print, too.

World of Howl Series:

  • Howl’s Moving Castle
  • Castle in the Air
  • House of Many Ways

Howl’s Moving Castle Deluxe Limited Edition

Studio Ghibli’s Howl’s Moving Castle on Blu-ray

As mentioned, the 2004 Studio Ghibli film deviated quite a bit from the book, as it featured a different aesthetic, certain characters stuck around for much longer, and even the dynamic between Sophie and Howl plays out in an unconventional way.

If you want to add the Studio Ghibli adaptation to your home movie collection, you can get the Howl’s Moving Castle Limited Edition Steelbook for only $16.29 or the standard edition for $15. Both editions come with Blu-ray and DVD versions of the film as well as a nice selection of special features, including storyboards, documentaries, interviews, and the original promotional materials. Howl’s Moving Castle has a star-studded cast of voice actors, including Christian Bale, Jean Simmons, and Billy Crystal, who voiced various characters.

Howl’s Moving Castle on Blu-ray

You can pair the Blu-ray with The Art of Howl’s Moving Castle, an excellent official companion book published in 2005. Priced at $19.44 (was $35), The Art of Howl’s Moving Castle offers a sprawling collection of concept sketches, fully rendered character and background drawings, paintings and cell images, and commentary from the Studio Ghibli crew that worked on the movie.

Howl’s Moving Castle is just one of numerous Studio Ghibli animated films inspired by a novel, short story, or manga. We’ve rounded up some of the other adaptations and their source materials below. We only included Ghibli films that pull from source material that’s readily available in English. At the bottom, you’ll also find a few examples of the reverse situation: written and illustrated stories adapted from Studio Ghibli films.

Kiki’s Delivery Service

Written by. Eiko Kadono and illustrated by Akiko Hayashi, Kiki’s Delivery Service is a popular Japanese children’s novel originally published in 1985. Hayao Miyazaki wrote and directed the 1989 animated adaptation. The adaptation has an official art book as well as a comic adaptation of its own.

  • Read the novel:
  • Watch the adaptation:
  • Books based on the movie:

Tales from Earthsea

The Books of Earthsea: The Complete Illustrated Edition | Shuna’s Journey

The 2006 Ghibli film Tales from Earthsea is a notable one here because Goro Miyazaki–Hayao Miyazaki’s son–adapted parts of Ursula K. Le Guin’s Earthsea series as well as his father’s graphic novel Shuna’s Journey. The film pulls from the first four novels in Le Guin’s classic fantasy series. A Wizard of Earthsea, the first novel in the fantasy series, was published in 1968. Humorously, the film gets its name from the fifth book in the series, but it doesn’t include elements from its namesake.

Shuna’s Journey, meanwhile, was published in Japanese in 1983 and received an English translation in 2022. It has beautiful watercolor artwork by Hayao Miyazaki. We’d also highly recommend The Books of Earthsea: The Complete Illustrated Edition, a lavish 1,008-page hardcover collecting Le Guin’s full series.

  • Read Ursula K. Le Guin’s novel series:
  • Read Hayao Miyazaki’s graphic novel:
  • Watch the adaptation:

The Secret World of Arietty

The Borrowers, a 1952 fantasy novel written by Mary Norton was adapted by Studio Ghibli in 2010 as The Secret World of Arietty. Hayao Miyazaki wrote the screenplay, and Hiromasa Yonebayashi directed the film.

  • Read the novel:
  • Watch the adaptation:

When Marnie Was There

When Marnie Was There, a 1967 children’s novel by Joan G. Robinson, was adapted to a film of the same name in 2014. Yonebayashi directed and co-wrote the psychological drama.

  • Read the novel:
  • Watch the adaptation:

The Cat Returns

Baron the Cat, a 2002 manga by Aoi Hiiragi, was adapted the same year as The Cat Returns. Aoi Hiiragi’s manga was translated to English in 2005 with the title Baron: The Cat Returns. The Baron from the book and movie previously appeared in Studio Ghibli’s 1995 film Whisper of the Heart. This is because Aoi Hiiragi also wrote the original manga it’s based on. Unfortunately, the 1989 manga Mimi o Sumaseba has never received an English translation.

  • Read the manga:
  • Watch the adaptation:

Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind

Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind Manga Box Set (Hardcover)

Hayao Miyazaki has adapted exactly one of his own published works: Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. First published in 1982, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind is Miyazaki’s only manga series. He based the screenplay for the 1984 film adaptation on parts of the first and second volumes of what eventually ended as a seven-volume series in 1994. Since the manga ran for a decade after the film’s release, it’s no surprise that the 1,100-plus page series is markedly different than the movie. The Nausicaa manga is available in trade paperback or in a deluxe, two-volume hardcover box set with a display case, fully illustrated endpapers, and a watercolor poster. Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind’s Blu-ray and DVD combo pack is one of many Studio Ghibli films available with a steelbook case.

  • Read the manga:
  • Watch the adaptation:
  • Read books about both:

My Neighbor Totoro

My Neighbor Totoro: The Novel and Picture Book

My Neighbor Totoro isn’t like the films and books listed above. Written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, My Neighbor Totoro released in 1988. A four-volume ani-manga released in Japan almost simultaneously. Viz Media translated those volumes to English in 2004-05. Just last year, all four were reprinted as My Neighbor Totoro Film Comic: All-in-One Edition. The nearly 600-page hardcover book is available for the bargain price of $30. The film was also adapted into a picture book the same year it released. For Totoro’s 25th anniversary, author Tsugiko wrote a novelization of My Neighbor Totoro with illustrations by Miyazaki.

  • Watch the movie:
  • Read the books based on the movie:

My Neighbor Totoro and Kiki’s Delivery Service aren’t the only Studio Ghibli films to receive ani-manga (film comics in the US) adaptations. Fans can also get omnibus editions of comics adapted from Spirited Away and Ponyo. The 856-page Spirited Away Film Comic: All-in-One Edition is on sale for $25.60 (was $35). Ponyo’s All-in-One Edition released in July and is up for grabs for $25.87 (was $30). Ghibli fans can also preorder the Princess Mononoke Film Comic: All-in-One Edition ahead of its publication next January.

Google releases more teasers for the Pixel 10 event, and photo AI features heavily

by admin August 17, 2025

  • Google has posted more Pixel event teasers
  • Phones, watches, and earbuds are expected
  • Several celebrities will be in attendance too

Google is going to be launching the Pixel 10 phones, the Pixel Watch 4, and the Pixel Buds 2a this coming Wednesday, August 20, and several new and official teaser clips have made their way online promoting the event.

One of the teasers that’s appeared on the Made by Google feed on X is promoting AI photo technology: adding people into images after they’ve been taken, and going beyond the normal zoom levels to get even closer to a subject.

While these AI-powered editing tools are already available on the current Google Pixel 9 handsets, the suggestion is that we’ll get more features along the same lines when the four expected Pixel 10 devices are unveiled.

Another teaser focuses on the fact that the launch event is being held in New York, with special guests Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Curry, Lando Norris, and the Jonas brothers said to be in attendance, amongst others – so there’ll be plenty of celebrities on show.

The other teasers posted in the last few days show off the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold, and comment on a lack of innovation in the phone industry – possibly having a dig at Apple, which has yet to join Samsung and Google in launching a foldable.

In terms of aesthetics and content, these teaser clips match up with other previews we’ve already seen from Google. It looks like the gray/silver color that’s apparently going to be called Moonstone will be featuring prominently.

One of the clips also shows a Pixel Watch and a pair of Pixel Buds, confirming that we can expect these devices to show up alongside four phones: the Pixel 10, the Pixel 10 Pro, the Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

The rumors that have appeared online have covered everything from the Pixel 10 going eSIM-only, to it adding an upgraded telephoto camera, and in just a few days we’ll know for sure what Google has been busy working on.

PlayStation Boss Reacts To Microsoft’s Pivot To Multiplatform Releases

by admin June 16, 2025

Microsoft is shaking things up with its new strategy of launching its own games on rival platforms, and now Sony has reacted to Microsoft’s latest moves. As part of an investor fireside chat, Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Hideaki Nishino was asked to respond to speculation from investors that Microsoft is “moving away from the console.”

To be clear, Microsoft has made no announcements about moving away from building hardware, and in fact, the company has already said it’s working on its next console. In any event, Nishino responded by saying Microsoft trying something new and creating an additional competitive element in the gaming landscape by launching more of its games on rival systems is “healthy and pushes us to innovate.”

“There are multiple participants who together drive the overall game industry, and while there are new engagement models being explored, we ultimately think this is a good thing,” he said. “However, as I mentioned earlier, we are confident and committed on our current strategy, and there isn’t an urgent need for us to pivot. We will continue to monitor play patterns and invest appropriately as required.”

The next big Xbox game to come to PlayStation is Gears of War Reloaded, which debuts in August, representing the first time the Gears franchise will be available outside of Xbox and PC. Microsoft recently launched Doom: The Dark Ages on PlayStation, and the company’s biggest series, Call of Duty, is developed for both Xbox and PlayStation systems.

Microsoft’s Xbox platform is understood to be the lowest-selling of the main three when compared against Sony’s PlayStation and Nintendo’s Switch devices. Microsoft is no longer pushing Xbox hardware as much as it once was, as it’s rolled out a new marketing campaign saying you don’t need to buy an Xbox because many of the products you may already own can play Xbox games.

Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer said Xbox’s goal is to increase the number of people playing on Xbox, but “playing on Xbox” doesn’t mean a dedicated Xbox console. “It means somebody who is logging in and playing a part of our ecosystem, whether first-party or third-party. And it could be on an Android phone. It could be on a Switch. It could be on a PC. That’s how we think about it,” he said.

Game consoles make money, but games and services are more lucrative. This is why Microsoft is pushing Xbox Game Pass so hard. Creating more subscribers gives Microsoft a regular and recurring revenue stream. Bringing Xbox games to PlayStation and Nintendo devices is another way Microsoft can make more money as well.

Spencer has time and again repeated his comments that Xbox is a business, and his job is to grow that business, even if it means laying people off, closing studios, and cancelling games.

Also during the presentation, Sony management briefly discussed the PlayStation 6 and responded to the record-breaking launch of the Switch 2. Sony also discussed its strategy for PC releases.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound Getting Physical PS5 And Switch Releases

by admin June 14, 2025

While Ninja Gaiden 4 might be the most anticipated ninja title of 2025, we’re also getting a retro-inspired side-scroller Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound a few month earlier on PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PC on July 31. The initial launch will be for the digital version of the game on all platforms. However, Nintendo Switch and PS5 are also getting physical editions packed with cool collectibles launching on September 12–including Special Edition that comes with a cloth map, double-sided medallion, pins, and more. Preorders for the physical Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound editions are available now. Copies are currently exclusive to the game’s publisher, Silver Lining Direct, but other retailers like Amazon, Walmart, and Target are expected to carry the game soon.

$40

The standard edition of Ragebound gets you a copy of the game, a digital copy of the official soundtrack, and a retro booklet. That’s a pretty nice bundle for just $40. It’s available on PS5 and Switch.

$70

Spring for the Special Edition, and you’ll get a bunch of collectibles. Along with everything from the standard edition, it includes the following:

  • Cloth map
  • 4 metal pins
  • Double-sided hero medallion
  • Pixel stage standee
  • Double-sided poster
  • Premium collector’s box

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound Special Edition

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound is a 2D sidescroller that takes place while Ryu Hayabusa is traveling to America. However, a demonic army invades Hayabusa Village while he’s gone–and it’ll be up to the young Kenji Mozu, this apprentice, to fend them off. But do to that, he’ll need help from the infamous Black Spider Clan.

Ragebound will feature dual protagonists (Kenji Mozu and Kumori), and you’ll need to master both their skills to survive. The game is looking to combine modern gameplay mechanics with old-school visuals, and it’s shaping up to be a unique addition to the iconic Ninja Gaiden franchise. If you can’t wait to play until September 12, the digital version launches on July 31.

Be sure to also check out Ninja Gaiden 4 preorders, as there’s a nice bonus for reserving a copy in advance. Three different versions are up for grabs, including a Deluxe Edition that gets you heaps of in-game gear to kickstart your adventure.

XRP Bullish Structure Remains Bullish: Analyst Releases 3 New Targets

by admin June 13, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

Crypto analyst Klejdi has assured that the XRP bullish structure remains intact despite the recent pullback. The analyst indicated that the pullback is part of the bigger picture, while highlighting three targets the altcoin could hit once it reverses to the upside.

XRP Bullish Breakout Still On The Horizon

In a TradingView post, Klejdi suggested that XRP’s bullish breakout was still on the cards, although a pullback could come before the gains. This came as he noted that the altcoin had broken out of a larger bullish pattern, signaling the end of its accumulation phase. However, he added that short-term uncertainty could XRP lower with the market’s attention on the US-China trade deal and the Trump-Musk developments.

Klejdi predicted that the XRP price could drop to around $2.17 due to this market uncertainty. However, despite the short-term volatility, the crypto analyst remarked that the altcoin’s broader bullish structure remains intact, indicating a strong upside potential in the coming days or weeks.

He also revealed that $2.4, $2.6, and $2.8 were the targets that XRP could reach on this potential move to the upside. A rally to $2.8 could pave the way for a rally above the psychological $3 level.

Source: Kledji on X

Crypto analyst CasiTrades also recently commented on the XRP price action and revealed what to expect. The analyst declared that the altcoin could break out of its consolidation structure by June 16, which is also the deadline for the SEC to submit a status report on its filing for an indicative ruling in the XRP lawsuit. She predicted that the altcoin could rally to as high as $13 if this marks the bottom.

However, XRP and the broader crypto market are facing a lot of uncertainty following Israel’s strike against Iran. Iran has retaliated, further escalating tensions between the two countries. Similar attacks in the past have had a significant impact on the crypto market.

XRP Could Still Drop To As Low As $1.55

In an X post, CasiTrades declared that the support levels at $2.01, $1.90, and even $1.55 are still very much in play as long as $2.25 holds as resistance for XRP. She claimed that the altcoin is also heading straight into the apex of this macro consolidation, with very little time left. The analyst added that this is likely a final support touch before a major breakout.

This aligns with Klejdi’s analysis that XRP could suffer a significant pullback before the massive gains. Crypto analyst CasiTrades also believes that deeper support levels are more likely to get tested before the breakout to the upside.

At the time of writing, the XRP price is trading at around $2.09, down over 6% in the last 24 hours, according to data from CoinMarketCap.

Gears of War: Reloaded is not releasing on PS5 in Japan, but Xbox or PC releases will go ahead

by admin June 11, 2025

Despite passing certification on Xbox Series and PC, Gears of War: Reloaded will not release on PS5 in Japan.

According to IGN, the game – scheduled to release on August 26 – will not be available on PS5 due to “regional rating restrictions” and “platform policies.”

“Due to regional rating restrictions and platform policies, Gears of War: Reloaded will not be released for PlayStation 5 in Japan,” Microsoft wrote in a machine-translated statement.

“Domestic players will still be able to play the game on launch day through Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, Game Pass, and Steam. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience caused to players in Japan who have been waiting for the release of this game.”

It’s thought, but not confirmed, that Gears of War: Reloaded was denied release on PS5 due to the ability to slice up enemies, as Japan’s rating board, CERO, has previously taken issue with mutilation, banning both The Callisto Protocol and the Dead Space remake on consoles for that reason.

Interestingly, Gears of War: Reloaded on the Microsoft Store also doesn’t sport a CERO rating, either, but it does say it’s been classified by the International Age Rating Coalition (IARC) instead. It’s not known if the remake failed to secure a CERO certificate first.

KFC releases ‘Gravy Drip’ luxury fashion collection including a $1,900 jacket

by admin June 10, 2025

KFC has teamed up with London fashion house Aries to release a series of luxury items as part of its ‘Gravy Drip’ collection.

When it comes to wild crossovers, KFC may be king. Earlier this year, the restaurant released its own chicken-flavored toothpaste and in 2020, the colonel unveiled a video game console that’s capable of keeping chicken hot.

Now, KFC is back at it again, this time in the form of a collab with Aries that combines street wear with “liquid gold.”

Article continues after ad

The ten-piece collection is out now with some items even being sold out on the online store.

KFC launches wild luxury fashion items

As reported by Branding In Asia, the line is inspired by Roman banquet scenes and merges those art motifs with streetwear.

“When we thought about bringing the nation’s gravy obsession into the world of fashion, we knew there was only one brand iconic and fearless enough to do it with us – Aries,” KFC UK & Ireland Brand Manager Phoebe Syms explained.

“This is more than just a collab, it’s the ultimate gravy drip, a love letter to our liquid gold.”

Some of the items include a $130 drumstick necklace that’s already sold out, a $54 gravy boat, $270 pants, and a pair of $100 shirts.

The most elite item, a leather jacket, comes to just over $1,897 USD.

“We wanted to create something beautifully executed with a subtle touch of irony. The idea of reverence, ritual and indulgence evoked the spirit of a Roman feast and a celebration of excess,” Aries founder Sofia Prantera said.

In an odd twist, KFC isn’t the only chain embracing Rome. Earlier this month, McDonald’s unearthed an “ancient” Roman mosaic in Italy in the form of a wild art installation.

McDonald’s says it took 18,000 individual tiles to construct the mosaic and make it look authentically Roman.

It’s anyone’s guess what KFC cooks up next as the brand continues to think outside the bucket for wild collabs. Just one month prior, KFC turned its gravy into ice cream after partnering with Hackney Gelato.

Bitcoin Core Releases Fundamental Statement

Bitcoin Core Releases Fundamental Statement

by admin June 9, 2025

The fundamental philosophy of the projectб including user autonomy transaction policy and the function of software in the Bitcoin ecosystem, were recently reaffirmed in a statement issued by the developers of Bitcoin Core. The statement highlights Bitcoin’s decentralized structure and reaffirms that ultimately users, not developers or organizations, determine how the cryptocurrency functions.

The statement’s main component is Bitcoin Core’s ongoing opposition to required or automated software updates. In order to guarantee that no central entity can unilaterally change node behavior, developers reiterated their long-standing policy of avoiding auto-update mechanisms. This position safeguards the decentralization of the network and gives users the autonomy to select their own software and policies.

You Might Also Like

Additionally, the Bitcoin Core team explained its stance on transaction relay policy. Although the software has denial-of-service (DoS) and spam filters, developers made it clear that reliably mined and economically significant transactions should not be blocked. Censoring transactions that would otherwise be part of blocks, they claim, forces users into alternate communication channels, undermining transparency and decentralization.

You Might Also Like

Rather, Bitcoin Core promotes moderate and realistic spam filtering that tries to represent what is likely to be mined. In order to preserve competitive neutrality in mining, this strategy guarantees faster block propagation, better miner inclusion and more accurate fee estimation. Regarding non-monetary applications of the Bitcoin blockchain, like inscriptions and other data payloads, the statement treads carefully: it acknowledges that censorship-resistant systems will inevitably be used in ways that are not universally acceptable, but it neither supports nor denounces such applications.

In the end the developers reiterated their dedication to the long-term viability of Bitcoin, declaring that choices will be made in accordance with reasonable miner incentives, network efficiency and upgrade safety. The assertion that Bitcoin will always be a tool for users rather than a product under the control of its maintainers serves as both a technical guideline and a philosophical pledge.
