Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked rolls the dice on a release date and lands on this November

by admin October 4, 2025

I could probably quite safely bet some money that many of you are still happily ticking away at Baldur’s Gate 3, but for those of you that would like newer pastures to get your TTRPG fix in video game form, there’s some good news. The board game-esque tactical RPG Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked at long last has a release date!

You won’t be waiting long for it, as it’s slated for release this coming November 20th. No pound sterling or euro pricing for the game yet, but in USD it’ll set you back $30 – it’s also cross-platform and cross-device compatible, so no biggie if your friends aren’t on PC! And if it being more Dungeons & Dragons something or other, relatively affordable, and cross-everything isn’t enough for you, when Steam Next Fest kicks off next October 13th you’ll be able to try out a demo for yourself.

Watch on YouTube

This demo lets you try out a couple of encounters, with four heroes to choose from, including Jessix, a “human ranger seeking retribution” that is apparently a new reveal alongside this release date announcement! Plus, playing the demo will unlock an exclusive cosmetic for your d20s in the full game. Free stuff! Nobody hates free stuff!

If you haven’t even heard of Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked before, well, it’s a crossover between Demeo, which is also a fantasy, board game-esque tactical RPG, albeit set in its own world, with (you guessed it) D&D! You move little figures around a board while going through different campaigns, a big selling point being that it has online multiplayer, something Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked will also have. And you’ll be able to play it in VR too if that takes your fancy!

Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked is out November 20th, later this year.

SORT BY

Story orderRelease order

Halo is one of the most iconic series in gaming, and knowing the Halo games in order helps you understand how its vast universe and storytelling have evolved over the years. In this guide, you can explore the franchise in two ways: by story lore order, which follows the chronological timeline of events across the Halo universe, or by release order, which highlights how the series developed from its early days to modern entries. Use the buttons on this page to switch between these views and trace the legendary journey of Halo.

Halo Wars

In this unique installment in the Halo franchise, players experience the epic battles that marked the beginning of the Covenant War. With the UNSC Spirit of Fire at their disposal, players fight in the intense and enormous conflicts that would define humanity’s relentless heroism in its darkest hour.

Halo: Reach

Halo: Combat Evolved

Halo 3

  • Release date:

    September 25, 2007

Platforms:

What it’s about: Halo 3 is a shooter game where players primarily experience gameplay from a first-person perspective. Much of the gameplay takes place on foot, but also includes segments focused on vehicular combat. The balance of weapons and objects in the game was adjusted to better adhere to the “Golden Triangle of Halo”: these are weapons, grenades, and melee attacks, which are available to a player in most situations. Players may dual-wield some weapons, forgoing the use of grenades and melee attacks in favor of the combined firepower of two weapons. Many weapons available in previous installments of the series return with minor cosmetic and power alterations. Unlike previous installments, the player’s secondary weapon is visible on their player model, holstered or slung across the player’s back. Halo 3 introduces “support weapons”, which are cumbersome two-handed weapons that slow the player, but offer greatly increased firepower in return. In addition to weapons, the game contains a new class of gear called equipment; these items have various effects, ranging from defensive screens to shield regeneration and flares. Only one piece of equipment can be carried at a time. The game’s vehicular component has been expanded with new drivable and AI-only vehicles.

Halo 4

  • Release date:

    November 6, 2012

Platforms:

What it’s about: Halo 4 marks the start of an epic new saga within the award-winning Halo universe. The Master Chief returns in this award-winning first-person shooter developed by 343 Industries. Shipwrecked on a mysterious world, faced with new enemies and deadly technology, the Chief returns to battle against an ancient evil bent on vengeance and annihilation…the universe will never be the same.

Halo 5: Guardians

  • Release date:

    October 27, 2015

Platforms:

What it’s about: Halo 5: Guardians delivers epic multiplayer experiences that span multiple modes, full-featured level building tools, and another chapter in the Master Chief saga. The Master Chief saga continues, with solo and up to 4-player cooperative experience that spans three worlds. A mysterious and unstoppable force threatens the galaxy. The Spartans of Fireteam Osiris and Blue Team must embark on a journey that will change the course of history and the future of mankind.

Halo Wars 2

  • Release date:

    February 21, 2017

Platforms:

What it’s about: After decades adrift and declared “lost with all hands,” the brave crew of the UNSC Spirit of Fire are mysteriously awoken above an ancient Forerunner haven known as the Ark. In Halo Wars 2, Captain Cutter and his crew will face one of humanity’s most formidable threats yet: The Banished – a fierce and powerful Brute faction led by a cunning and lethal warrior known as Atriox. Halo Wars 2 delivers real-time strategy at the speed of Halo combat. Get ready to lead armies of Spartans and other Halo fighting forces like Warthogs, Scorpions and exciting new units in a brutal war against a terrifying new enemy on the biggest Halo battlefield yet.

Halo Infinite

  • Release date:

    November 15, 2021

Platforms:

What it’s about: The Master Chief returns in Halo Infinite – the next chapter of the legendary franchise. When all hope is lost and humanity’s fate hangs in the balance, the Master Chief is ready to confront the most ruthless foe he’s ever faced. Step inside the armor of humanity’s greatest hero to experience an epic adventure and explore the massive scale of the Halo ring.

Moonlighter 2 delayed to November due to overstuffed October release schedule

by admin October 1, 2025

The early access release of Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault has been delayed by a month due to the amount of games being released in October.

Developer Digital Sun and publisher 11 Bit Studios had originally planned to release its RPG shop-sim adventure sequel on 23rd October, but now it’ll be out on 19th November.

October has “filled up with so many other great releases that we feel it has become too crowded for us” they wrote in a statement shared on Steam. “And as every wise shopkeeper knows, even the most precious gem can be overlooked in an overstuffed showcase.”

Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault | Early Access Date Reveal TrailerWatch on YouTube

In the meantime, closed playtests will run soon on Steam and the Microsoft Store, with details expected soon.

October’s release schedule is certainly looking stacked. The 23rd, specifically, sees the release of Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted, Once Upon a Katamari and Double Dragon Revive.

However, there are other big games due out the rest of the month, including:

  • Ghost of Yotei – 2nd October
  • Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 – 2nd October
  • Digimon Story: Time Stranger – 3rd October
  • Battlefield 6 – 10th October
  • Little Nightmares 3 – 10th October
  • Pokemon Legends: Z-A – 16th October
  • Jurassic World Evolution 3 – 21st October
  • Ninja Gaiden 4 – 21st October
  • Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 – 21st October
  • The Outer Worlds 2 – 29th October
  • Arc Raiders – 30th October
  • Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake – 30th October

Still, even with the move, Moonlighter 2 will now compete with Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 on 14th November.

While it’s certainly a wise move to not have quite so much competition on release, it’s near impossible to find a quiet release date to stand out with so many games released these days.

Plenty of games shifted release date in the wake of Hollow Knight: Silksong’s surprise launch, but has this set a worrying precedent?

Silksong’s surprise release in particular was described as “a little callous” by Hell is Us creative director Jonathan Jacques-Belletête, believing it impacted sales of the sci-fi adventure.

The early access release for Moonlighter 2 was announced back in August. The game is a follow-up to 2018’s Moonlighter, and sees a shift from top-down to 3D worlds.

Dune Awakening developer Funcom suffers layoffs after biggest release in studio history

by admin October 1, 2025

Dune: Awakening developer Funcom has announced it’s laying off staff today as part of a restructuring process across the studio, with an undisclosed number of staff losing their jobs.

In a statement to GamesIndustry.biz, the Norway-based developer stated it’s laying off staff as part of a restructuring effort towards: “releasing new content, features, and enhancements.”

The statement continues: “The transition from development to long-term live operation, while also building towards a major console release next year, will require us to restructure our teams and focus our resources from across projects and studios. Unfortunately, this also means having to say goodbye to cherished colleagues.

Watch the Dune: Awakening launch trailer here.Watch on YouTube

“This difficult process is starting now, and we cannot yet determine the exact impact. We are working to find new opportunities for those affected.

“Our focus now is to provide these team members with the support and guidance they need, and we ask for your understanding at this time as we will not make further comments during this process.”

Dune: Awakening, as mentioned both in the statement and widely reported, was a massive success for Funcom. The game had a Steam concurrent player count of roughly 190,000 players during its launch, with around 100,000 coming from a more expensive priority access version of the game. In recent months, the game is floating around roughly 20,000 concurrent daily players.

Funcom, a studio with ample history in both the MMO and survival game genres, had plans to continue supporting the game post-launch and recently rolled out its first major free update to the game. This, unfortunately, was not enough to stave off layoffs.

Pax Dei, the medieval EVE Online-esque MMO, gets its 1.0 release next month

by admin October 1, 2025

What if EVE Online was a bit less sci-fi, and a lot more medieval? You would, in theory, get Pax Dei, a game that first entered early access in June last year. Responses to it so far appear to be, well, mixed, but as seems to be quite common with These Kinds Of Games, everyone that’s played it appears to be going through some kind of Stockholm syndrome kind of situation, as the game is still going. It’s going so far as to launch into 1.0 in fact, and developer Mainframe Industries have even put a date to it.

That release date is October 16th, about half a month away at the time of writing (assuming I still know how to read calendars). Mainframe outlined what you can expect in the leadup to the launch, as well as what will happen at launch itself in a recent Steam news post too.

From October 6th until the 14th, servers for the game will be completely offline. On the 14th, at 3am PDT, anyone that owns a founder’s pack will have access to the game’s 1.0 servers, and then on the 16th at 8am PDT, the MMO will be available to everyone. Something to note is that with the launch of 1.0, everyone that has been playing so far will have everything wiped – shards, characters, plots, inventories, skills, and more. This is the final wipe though, Mainframe explained, so you won’t have to worry if you’re new to the game.

One big difference is that Pax Dei will also have a subscription model. You can just play the game by buying it, but memberships give you a whole bunch of extras that do seem a little bit unfair. In particular, depending on which membership plan you go for, you’ll get a number of plot tokens, which let you literally own certain pieces of land – that you have to continuously pay for with said tokens. Yes, this is essentially digital rent. Whether this works out or not, well, we’ll find out in the next few months.

As Square Enix release Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles on PC, I renew my demand for my mate Richie to return the PSP copy I lent him 15 years ago

*cavernous, torturous, 20-second-long sucking-in of breath*

RICHAAAARRRRD. RICHAARD WAAAAALKER. RICHARD WALKER, DEPUTY EDITOR OF XBOX ACHIEVEMENTS. RETURN IT TO ME, RICHARD. RETURN WHAT IS OWED. YOU KNOW OF WHAT I SPEAK. J’ACCUSE, RICHARD. J’ACCUSE YOU OF DÉROBING MA JEUX PORE LE ORDINATEUR. VOULEZ VOUS COUCHER AVEC MON TACTICS RPG, RICHARD?? LE VAUTOUR ENCERCLE LA CARCASSE, LE BOL EST SUR LA TABLE – COMMENT PUIS-JE ME RENDER CHEZ LE BOULANGER????

The year was 2010 when you took it from me, Richard – the mother of all grid-based battlers, one of the greatest digital fables of all time, a thrilling study in dynastic intrigue and medieval warfare. I had yet to even finish the game myself, having long coveted it as a youth consigned to PS1 PAL purgatory. But I could not resist your overtures, Richard! I assumed that you would return it to me in a month, perhaps two. Little did I know that Final Fantasy Tactics’ acclaimed branching Job system would school you in the dark arts of back-stabbing and betrayal, that it would poison your dove-white temperament and set you upon the road to villainy.

I thought we were bros, Richard! Kindred spirits forged in the flame of mutual incompetence! We came up in this business together! Remember when I held your dictaphone for you while you interviewed BioWare’s Ray Muzyka, Richard? I was terrified it wouldn’t pick up his audio, so resorted to kneeling between you like a penitent sinner, waggling the mic back and forth! We looked like idiots, but it’s fine! It’s fine! We got over it! I barely ever think of the scalding embarrassment and humiliation!! Muzyka is some kind of magic medicine brewer now, anyway – who gives a fuck what he thinks? The key thing is that it was a bonding experience, a foundation for everlasting trust! What did I ever do to you, Richard!? What crime have I committed for you to treat me this way?!?!

I name you, Richard, I name you in the public forum, in the court of our peers. With bleeding hands I carve these words in ten-feet high letters upon the mausoleum of posterity: “Here stands indicted Richard Walker, bastard. Faithless one! Breaker of oaths! Smudger of covenants! Pact-shirker! Dog-leech! Cut-purse! Larkspell! Trencher-mouth! Let none welcome him. Let all faces turn from him. Let all doors be closed to him! Let his food taste like ashes and his favourite videogames play like The Lord of the Rings: Gollum!”

You thought I had forgotten, Richard. And to be honest, I did forget, because it has been such a very long time, Richard, but Square Enix did not forget – today, they release a new version of the game on Steam with enhanced visuals, and lo do I rouse in horrified recognition from my dreamless sleep in the murmuring silt of the abysmal sea, lo do I rise in the coruscating incandescence of my absolute fury and indignation to burst upon the surface world and accost the traitor!

RICHAAAARD. RICHAAAARD WAAAALKER. My PSP’s battery may have swollen up like a diseased appendix, but I still have my 32MB Memory Stick Duo with a campaign save. It cries out to me for vengeance! Vengeance upon that great unclean soul and fugitive from justice, Richard Walker, Deputy Editor of Xbox Achievements!

Soulmask Shifting Sands DLC gets new trailer and release window

by admin September 29, 2025

Today at the PC Gaming Show, CampFire Studio and Qooland Games announced that Soulmask, currently in Early Access, will fully launch in Q4 of 2025 alongside the Shifting Sand DLC.

Today at the PC Gaming Show, and following a milestone of over 700,000 players in Early Access, Soulmask revealed the highly anticipated launch trailer for Shifting Sands Egypt DLC, transporting players deep into a unique ancient Egyptian world that blends mysticism with sci-fi. Soulmask v1.0 and DLC will release together globally in Q4 2025.Presented in striking cinematic style, the trailer takes players on a breathtaking journey across desert sands, forgotten tombs, and temples steeped in the whispers of gods. From mind-bending aerial shots of golden dunes to daunting close-ups of new bosses and monsters, the reveal showcases a daring new blend of history, mythology, and sci-fi.

In Shifting Sands, ancient myths collide with alien technology. Players will equip the masks of Horus, Anubis, Amun-Ra, and Sobek, unleashing godlike abilities that may redefine combat and exploration. Anti-gravity solar ships hint at a new survival meta: Craft and assemble modular ships to traverse deserts, rivers, and the skies, expanding possibilities far beyond traditional sandbox play.

Together, these elements set the stage for the DLC’s key features:

Egyptian Gods’ Themed Masks – Each with unique, extraordinary abilities, such as Horus, the sky god, who can fly and control the sky; Anubis, the guardian of the underworld, who can resurrect; and masks incorporating alien technology that manipulate gravity for enhanced combat and exploration.

Anti-Gravity Solar Ships & Floating Bases – Modular construction with weight & module limits for strategic depth.

Harsh Survival in the Scorching Lands – Explore ancient Egyptian-inspired new biomes with dynamic day-night cycles and harsher survival challenges, fully immersing players in the style and atmosphere of Egypt’s legendary landscapes.

At its core, Soulmask: Shifting Sands draws inspiration from Ancient Egypt’s philosophy of the afterlife. The game’s central theme of “soul transfer” and “immortality through masks” echoes mummification rituals, Ra’s solar barque, and the eternal cycle of death and rebirth. This mythological depth intertwines with sci-fi mystery, inviting players to uncover how forgotten dynasties, alien relics, and divine power coalesce into one living mythos.

The DLC arrives as Soulmask reaches a milestone moment: its full 1.0 release. For a detailed look at the development journey and what’s new in version 1.0, check out the official developer log here.

The update introduces three game modes — Survival, Management, and Hero — giving players freedom to focus on exploration, tribe building, or high-stakes combat. Tribe AI is smarter and more specialized, with better job assignments and a new training system that lets tribesmen learn from each other. Players can issue text or even voice commands for a more immersive connection with their tribe. Mask progression has been reworked with a new tutorial and tribe-level system tied to “civilization rebuilding” quests, while the improved management interface offers real-time oversight of storage, production, and logistics. Together, these upgrades make Soulmask v1.0 the most advanced and feature-rich survival sandbox to date.

With over 80% positive reviews in Early Access, and the well-praised Sanxingdui DLC, with 95% positive reviews on Steam, Soulmask has cemented itself as a survival sandbox innovator. Now, with Shifting Sands, it takes aim at bridging historical authenticity and speculative science fiction in ways unmatched within the genre, setting it apart from peers in the genre.

Soulmask: Shifting Sands launches worldwide alongside Soulmask v1.0 in Q4 2025 for PC. Fans can experience the base game now in Early Access via Steam, now available at a 30% discount.

Saros: Release Date , Platforms, And Everything We Know So Far About The Next Housemarque Game

by admin September 29, 2025

One of the big upcoming first-party PlayStation Studios titles is Saros, the next game from developer Housemarque. A spiritual sequel to Returnal, Saros builds on the foundation of that roguelike action game and is described as the “ultimate evolution” of the company’s approach to gameplay-first adventures. Here’s everything we know about the game so far, ahead of its upcoming release in early 2026.

When will Saros be released?

Housemarque has set a release window of March 20, 2026, for Saros.

Preorder Saros

Preorders are not yet available for Saros.

Saros trailer

The first trailer for Saros was released during the February State of Play event–check it out below. The trailer spotlights the setting, tone, and story. We think it looks pretty great.

Saros platforms

Saros will launch on PS5, but Housemarque hasn’t mentioned a PC release yet. Its previous game, Returnal, did come to PC two years after it first arrived on PS5, and with Sony adopting a multiplatform release strategy, it’s likely that Saros will eventually find its way to this platform in the future.

Will Saros be PS5 Pro Enhanced?

Creative director Gregory Louden did confirm during State of Play that Saros will be PS5 Pro-enhanced, although what those exact enhancements are remains to be seen. Housemarque makes some of the best-looking games around, with Returnal being one of the more graphically impressive games on PS5 when it first launched. If that game is any indication, you can probably expect some terrific monster designs and particle effects for days when Saros launches.

Saros story, setting, and characters

Set on the planet Carcosa, Saros puts you in the boots of Arjun Devraj, a powerful Soltari Enforcer who ison the hunt for answers on this lost off-world colony that is currently caught in the shadow of a very ominous eclipse. Housemarque says that it has crafted a haunting story for the game, one full of nightmarish monsters judging by the teaser trailer.

The studio also added that the game will feature a grounded voice-over, cinematics, audio logs, and conversations with several non-playable characters. There are also Soltari Holograms detailing what happened on Carcosa as you explore the planet, and collecting them will reveal what exactly happened on that planet. Housemarque added that there’ll also be more surreal and mysterious storytelling sequences, but it won’t be sharing details on them just yet.

A familiar face

Your eyes are not deceiving you, that is indeed actor Rahul Kohli lending his voice and likeness to Devraj. According to Housemarque, the Midnight Mass actor delivers a “grounded” performance in Saros. “Every time the sun dies, madness reigns, then everything begins again. “But after every death, I always come back stronger,” Devraj says in the trailer.

Saros gameplay

Saros looks to be a game where aggression pays off, as Arjun wears an advanced combat suit that gives him several enhanced abilities. Every time you start a run, you can select your loadout from a mix of Soltari human weaponry and Carcosan alien weaponry. The September 2025 State of Play deep dive showed Arjun wielding the Soltari Phosphorous Shotgun, a weapon that can melt through enemies.

The other big difference between Saros and Returnal is that Arjun can charge straight into danger, thanks to the Soltari Shield. By holding R1, Arjun can absorb the energy from lethal projectiles and charge up a Carcosan Power Weapon to hit hard. Essentially, you can harvest the attacks of your enemies and throw it right back at them. The catch here is that Power Weapons also transform Arjun’s right arm into an eclipse-fueled weapon, corrupting him in the process. It’s a double-edged sword, but one that he can swing to gain an edge in combat.

If Arjun does fall in battle, he will have a “second chance” to cheat death and get right back into the thick of things. After discovering how to use eclipse corruption energy to rise back up on first death, Arjun can come back stronger and future runs will give him the option to upgrade his Soltari advanced combat suit and abilities.

“After every death you will face a changed world, but in Saros you will be able to choose and permanently upgrade your loadout from an evolving set of weapons and suit upgrades to ‘come back stronger’ to overcome the challenges you face on Carcosa,” Housemarque explained.

Possessor(s), the sort of Metroidvania from the devs behind Hyper Light Drifter, gets a November release date

by admin September 28, 2025

Heart Machine have had a busy year. It was only in January that they launched Hyper Light Breaker into early access, a surprise follow-up to their beloved indie action RPG Hyper Light Drifter. That launch didn’t go amazingly due to a myriad of reasons, and even now the game hasn’t completely managed to find its footing yet. And then there’s Possessor(s), their search action (not Metroidvania) game that at long last has a release date!

That date is quite soon, too: November 11th, less than two months away. This date came with a new little gameplay overview trailer, showing off some of the tools the game’s protagonist will be able to use on her journey. I’m quite into the concept behind them, they’re all just things you’re likely to find left behind in a ruined city; a computer mouse, an electric guitar, a pair of sunglasses, all usable in combat that’s apparently partially inspired by games like Smash Bros.

Watch on YouTube

The overall concept is a tantalising one too. You play as Luca, a teenage girl caught up in the mess of a quarantined city whose body becomes so damaged she’s forced to let a demon named Rhem in to fix it. This city is in ruins because of some experiments conducted by an evil corporation (the evil being a bit moot there because when isn’t a corporation evil), with other demons having possessed everyday household objects.

Possessor(s) marks a bit of a departure for Heart Machine having transitioned to a 2D, sidescrolling plane. There’s certainly the hallmarks of the studio with its fresh concept and killer art direction, I’m just hoping they’ve managed to pull off a hit given how Hyper Light Breaker has been put through the ringer. We’ll find out in a couple of months!
