Bitcoin Falls Below $100K; Hayes, Schiff, Rochard React to Crash

by admin June 22, 2025

Bitcoin dropped below $100,000 over the weekend, triggering a wider crypto market crash as fresh tensions in the Middle East spooked investors. It started after the U.S. carried out airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear sites, and Iran hit back soon after. The headlines shook global markets and led to a quick sell-off in risk assets.

Bitcoin fell as low as $99,191, breaking below six figures for the first time in several weeks. It’s now down more than 6% compared to the previous weekend. Panic selling took over and forced liquidations, slamming crypto exchanges. Altcoins like Ethereum and Solana tanked too, both dropping in double digits.

This Bitcoin crash wasn’t just about crypto. Investors were pulling out of anything risky, from crypto to tech stocks, as tensions in the Middle East kept getting worse. The sell-off was made worse by liquidations in derivatives markets, which added to the downward pressure.

Commenting on the price movement, Pierre Rochard, CEO of the Bitcoin Bond company, wrote: “Bitcoin has dipped below $100k not because the network relies on the Strait of Hormuz, not because the asset is over-leveraged, but because it’s the easiest to sell globally 24/7 for deleveraging other assets. There’s utility in accumulating it when times are good.”

Peter Schiff, a longtime critic of Bitcoin, questioned buyer interest at current levels.

“Other than @saylor, who’s buying the dip below $100k?” He also pointed to Bitcoin’s relationship with traditional markets.

“Bitcoin is down over 4% from where it traded when U.S. stocks closed on Friday. Given Bitcoin’s positive correlation with risk assets and negative correlation with gold, that indicates that stock futures will open lower and gold higher. Tonight’s session could be interesting.”

Do you hear that? … it’s the sound of the money printers revving up to do their patriotic duty. This weakness shall pass and $BTC will leave no doubt as to its safe haven status. pic.twitter.com/PTfZaAXFp7

— Arthur Hayes (@CryptoHayes) June 22, 2025

Meanwhile, Arthur Hayes, former BitMEX CEO and one of Bitcoin’s most vocal backers struck an optimistic tone. “Do you hear that? … it’s the sound of the money printers revving up to do their patriotic duty. This weakness shall pass and $BTC will leave no doubt as to its safe haven status.”

Despite the sell-off, Bitcoin remains up significantly year-to-date. However, the latest crypto market crash has reminded investors of the asset’s sensitivity to global uncertainty and leverage unwinding. Analysts say continued geopolitical risk could keep volatility high in the near term.

With markets on edge and traditional trading sessions about to resume, Bitcoin’s next move will likely depend on how broader markets react to developments out of the Middle East. For now, caution dominates, and capital is flowing out of crypto as quickly as it entered.

House Advances Major Crypto Bill. Industry Voices React

by admin June 11, 2025

The House Financial Services Committee has advanced the CLARITY Act, a landmark crypto market structure bill.

The legislation passed the major hurdle with a vote of 32-19. It secured some minor bipartisan support, with Rep. Ritchie Torres (D‑NY) and Rep. Cleo Fields (D-LA) joining the Republicans to advance the legislation.

The bill aspires to establish a clear regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies.

It stipulates that the CFTC will oversee digital commodities while the SEC retains authority over investment contracts. Over time, some tokens might no longer be subject to SEC oversight. The two agencies are supposed to collaborate with each other in order to establish a cohesive regulatory framework.

“The CLARITY Act incorporates ideas and feedback from stakeholders, experts, and members of Congress from across the ideological spectrum. Crucially, this bill is going to cement the U.S. as the center of innovation in the digital asset space,” Red. Bryan Steil (R-WI) said.

The advancement of the bill is seen as another major legislative win for the cryptocurrency community.

Faryar Shirzad, chief policy officer at cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, has stated that this could be one of the biggest weeks for crypto in terms of crypto policy:

“By Friday, we could see clear rules around stablecoins pass the Senate and productive markups of the CLARITY Act in two House Committees,” he said.

‘Beautiful’ and ‘Hard to Read’: Designers React to Apple’s Liquid Glass Update

by admin June 10, 2025

Apple’s translucent design update for iOS 26, called Liquid Glass, is now available to developers, with a public beta scheduled for next month. The refresh—Apple’s first major interface overhaul in 10 years—makes app icons, buttons, menus, and pop-ups look like they are made of frosted glass, with blurred background colors peeking through.

The sweeping software changes are not just for iPhones. This glassy look—inspired by the operating system in the Vision Pro headset—will eventually roll out to the entire suite of Apple devices, from smartwatches to iPads.

After the WWDC 2025 keynote concluded on Monday, many design-focused developers WIRED spoke with were impressed by the major update but had lingering questions about how this translucent look could impact readability for users.

“It’s hard to read some of it,” says Allan Yu, a product designer currently building the workplace messaging app Output. “Mainly because I think they made it too transparent.” Yu suggests bumping up the blurring or adjusting the backgrounds to make onscreen designs more readable.

“Similar to the first beta for iOS 7, what we’ve seen so far is rough on the edges and potentially veers into distracting or challenging to read, especially for users with visual impairments,” says Josh Puckett, cofounder of Iteration, which helps startups with designs. Still, Puckett is optimistic, based on Apple’s past accessibility features, that readability will improve over time.

Serhii Popov, a design-first software engineer at MacPaw, the company behind the CleanMyMac app, is curious to see how the new operating system will look on Macs in bright light situations, where glare already impacts visibility. But overall, Popov is enamored with this “really fresh” look from Apple. “I think it will make everything look bigger and allow you to read or interact with the UI with more comfort,” says Popov. For him, the new design and updates look especially sleek on iPads.

Beyond readability concerns, the first impression from some designers is that this new look could be unnecessarily distracting for users.

“From a technical perspective, it’s a very impressive effect. I applaud the time and effort it must have taken to mimic refraction and dispersion of light to such a high degree,” says Adam Whitcroft, a designer at Owner.com, which makes apps and websites for restaurants. “But, sadly I haven’t seen a single example of where it’s pulled off in a way that’s complementary to the broader context it’s presented in.” Whitcroft points to the dispersion and refraction of layers beneath the apps as visually distracting, especially as the user interface is changing layouts. “If you’ve designed a UI that draws the attention of the eye away from the wider context, you’ve gone down the wrong path,” he says.

All Key Shiba Inu (SHIB) Indicators Are Bearish: How to React?

by admin June 1, 2025

Despite some brief price drops, Shiba Inu has been a popular target for cryptocurrency investors, and current indicators point to a bullish future. A combination of solid fundamentals and technical indicators that may portend an impending rally are revealed by analyzing the most recent data.

This is the situation and the potential response of traders. Just 4% of holders are at average, 36% are in the money and 59% of holders are in profit, according to the distribution. This points to a robust market structure and high investor confidence. Strong whale interest, which frequently predicts future price movements, was reflected in the large transaction volume of $185.86 million.

SHIB/USDT Chart by TradingView

Large holders own about 74% of SHIB, a concentration that can help lower volatility and provide stability because these investors are less likely to panic sell. Since SHIB and Bitcoin have a moderate correlation of 0.46, its price may move more independently and isn’t entirely tied to BTC. Furthermore, 78% of SHIB holders have been investors for a long time, which suggests that they have strong conviction and are not under as much pressure to sell.

You Might Also Like

The price of SHIB is gradually declining toward its annual high, and the rising trendline has been broken despite these bullish indications. Additionally, the trading volume is dropping quickly, which can point to a brief lull or period of consolidation before the next move. Since the market is dominated by long-term investors and large holders, the data supports holding.

Resilience is suggested by the high profit and concentration metrics. Keep an eye out for a volume rebound to verify a breakout. Though short-term bearishness may soon be overshadowed by the bullish fundamentals, the broken trendline calls for caution. It might be a good time to buy if support levels close to the annual high retest particularly if on-chain metrics hold firm.

Despite short-term challenges, SHIB’s primary indicators show a bullish outlook. By exercising strategic patience and paying close attention to volume changes, investors may be well-positioned for the upcoming upswing.
