Marvel’s Wolverine to launch in Fall 2026 on PS5

by admin September 25, 2025

Insomniac Games has revealed the launch window for Marvel’s Wolverine, set for release in Fall 2026 on PlayStation 5.

During PlayStation’s State of Play broadcast yesterday, the developer also showcased the Wolverine’s “much darker and more brutal” gameplay trailer.

“We’re breaking new ground with Wolverine, yes, but our penchant for telling stories about heroes overcoming colossal odds is as strong as ever,” Insomniac wrote in a blog post.

“We aim to deliver the ultimate Wolverine fantasy built on Insomniac staples like fast, fluid, and ferocious combat; exhilarating, action-packed set pieces; robust accessibility features; and a gripping story that taps into the core tenants of one of the most compelling comic book characters of all-time.”

Insomniac’s Wolverine was first announced in 2021. Two years later, the studio was victims of a ransomware hack with Wolverine being one of the many titles leaked.

Last October, Sony confirmed that Wolverine’s creative director Brian Horton had been replaced by Marcus Smith. He was previously creative director on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Miles Morales, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.

Horton moved from PlayStation to Xbox to become the creative director for The Initiative’s Perfect Dark. However, the reboot was cancelled earlier this year following mass layoffs at Xbox, resulting in the closure of The Initiative.

Wolverine’s game director Cameron Christian was also replaced by Mike Daly, with Christian remaining at the studio “in a different role.”

Marvel’s Wolverine at long last gets a borderline uncomfortably bloody gameplay trailer, and a PS5 release window

by admin September 25, 2025

After four whole years of silence, PlayStation and Insomniac have very graciously offered up a new trailer for Marvel’s Wolverine. With gameplay no less! Horrifically gruesome, violent, and bloody gameplay that is so intense you should probably give it 15 minutes or so if you’ve just had your supper.

Right, here’s what’s important. Combat looks like it’ll be borrowing from Spider-Man, which itself borrows from the Arkham series, as in that sort of rhythmic punching kind of thing, albeit with a lot more slicing and dicing. I’m talking claws up the skull, claws cutting off limbs, claws ripping bodies apart. A lot of claw action! Edwin also wanted me to make sure I mention how “sad and tender his eyes look while he’s slicing peoples’ elbows off,” because there was a behind the scenes featurette shown after the trailer that more or less pointed out just that.

Watch on YouTube

This featurette also confirmed who’ll be playing Insomniac’s Wolverine: Liam McIntyre, an Australian actor who is no stranger to superhero stuff (he was in the TV version of The Flash) or video games (he played JD Fenix in Gears of War 4). I’m sure someone will have some kind of complaint about this portrayal of the character, but he does have the iconic yellow suit at least.

You’ll also learn about how there’s some dedicated blood tech made for this game, which makes sense considering just how much of the stuff they packed into just two minutes of gameplay. Mr. Wolverine will also be a bit of a jet setter, as the game will take him to both the Canadian wilderness and Japan.

There’ll be some familiar comic book faces too, as Mystique made an appearance (arguably a more interesting protagonist for a game mechanically, but I digress), as well as Omega Red. Apparently there’s some hints for other characters too, you’ll have to wait for the “Top 10 Things You Missed In The Wolverine Gameplay Trailer” video that some YouTuber will push out by tomorrow to get a headstart on that SEO.

Oh, and there’s a release window too! It’ll be coming in the northern hemisphere’s fall, 2026, but it is worth noting that’s just on PS5. A PC release is all but guaranteed given that Marvel’s Spider-Man 1 and 2 have both received one, just a good while after their initial releases. There’s another look at the game coming in spring too, so for now, just enjoy Wolverine’s grunting and screaming and all the mess he makes. Again, seriously, don’t eat anything while watching this.

Check out the intricate, inky world of PS5 game Chronoscript: The Endless End

by admin September 24, 2025

One of the surprise announcements during Sony’s State of Play presentation today was the debut of a literary-themed game titled Chronoscript: The Endless End. It’s an action-adventure game with a very cool hand-drawn art aesthetic. Players will navigate the 3-dimensional world of a mysterious manor as well as the 2-dimensional world of illustrated manuscript pages.

The trailer mostly focused on those 2D sections, showing combat and platforming and seriously did I mention the very cool hand-drawn art? I would have been interested in this for the visuals alone, but throw in a story about writers and editors and I’m hooked.

Perhaps fittingly for this writerly endeavor, the game’s publisher is Shueisha, which is a heavyweight in publishing manga, including the popular Shonen Jump. The developer is DeskWorks, and the studio’s last project also boasted a lovely, illustrative style. We’ll have a little longer to wait before we can dive into the inky world of Chronoscript, however, because this game isn’t expected to arrive on the PlayStation 5 until some time in 2026.

Marvel’s Wolverine slices his way onto PS5 in fall 2026

by admin September 24, 2025

The rumors of Marvel’s Wolverine showing up during Sony’s September State of Play turned out to be true after all. The trailer was our first decent look (well, first official one, anyway) at the game since it was announced back in 2021. Sony and Insomniac Games revealed a release window too: Marvel’s Wolverine is coming to PS5 in fall 2026.

A gruff-sounding Liam McIntyre (Spartacus: Vengeance, JD Fenix in Gears of War 4 and Gears 5) is taking on the mantle of Logan here. As creative director Marcus Smith reminded us, Logan is an unreliable narrator with a patchy memory, which should make for an interesting wrinkle as the story plays out.

Unlike in Insomniac’s Spider-Man games, bad guys aren’t going to be magically webbed to the side of a tall building after you kick them off the roof. Oh, no no. Wolverine rips an enemy apart in fury with his adamantium claws within the first 30 seconds of this trailer. Not long after, he thrusts them upwards through a goon’s skull. We see him slicing off limbs too. Yeah, this isn’t going to be a game for younger kids.

Wolverine will encounter some familiar faces on his travels, including Mystique and Omega Red. And that’s not to mention a certain giant robot that shows up at the end of the trailer.

“We aim to deliver the ultimate Wolverine fantasy built on Insomniac staples like fast, fluid, and ferocious combat; exhilarating, action-packed set pieces; robust accessibility features; and a gripping story that taps into the core tenets of one of the most compelling comic book characters of all time,” Insomniac senior community manager Aaron Jason Espinoza wrote on the PlayStation Blog. “We’re breaking new ground with Wolverine, yes, but our penchant for telling stories about heroes overcoming colossal odds is as strong as ever. We’re eager to explore Logan’s story with you and tap into his signature spin on heroism, which is much darker and more brutal than you might expect from Insomniac.”

Although we’re a year or so away from Marvel’s Wolverine coming to PS5 and PS5 Pro, we won’t have to wait quite that long for more details. Insomniac promises to reveal additional info in spring 2026.

PS5 State Of Play September 2025: Start Time, How To Watch, And What To Expect From Today’s Event

by admin September 24, 2025

It’s a big week for gaming with events like the Tokyo Game Show, but right now, it’s time for Sony to show what it has been cooking up with a new State of Play broadcast today, September 24. We’ve rounded up all the details for the livestream, popped in a few links for where to watch, when it starts, and what you can expect from it. On September 25, you can also tune in for an Xbox livestream, which will be held at a very early time.

How to watch the State of Play

State of Play will be streamed live on Sony’s YouTube and Twitch channels and will be broadcast in English.

State of Play start time

The State of Play broadcast begins today, September 24, at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET and will run for approximately 35 minutes.

  • 2 PM PT
  • 5 PM ET
  • 11 PM CEST
  • 6 AM JST (September 25)

What to expect

Sony says that the event will feature reveals and news from developers around the world on third-party games and indie titles. On the first-party side, Sony has confirmed that there’ll be an extended look at Housemarque’s next game, Saros, with five minutes of PS5-captured gameplay. You can also look forward to updates from some of the teams at PlayStation Studios, but beyond that, Sony is keeping quiet on the specific details here.

Ghost of Yotei launches on October 2, so we’re expecting to see a quick trailer for the game, and this would be a great time to reveal a few new characters for the upcoming superhero brawler from Arc System Works, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls. Fans are also eager to see a fresh look at Insomniac’s Wolverine game, which was first announced way back in 2021. It has also been a year since Uncharted developer Naughty Dog revealed Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, so an update on that game wouldn’t be unwelcome.

If we’re digging into rumored reveals, then there might be some pleasant surprises today. Speculation about a new God of War game that will be smaller in scope and will see players return to ancient Greece has been doing the rounds for a while now, and everything from a Metal Gear Solid 4 port to a remake of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag have also been heavily rumored for a while now. The only way to find out will be to tune in today to see what the future of PlayStation looks like.

Battlefield 6 players on PS5 and Xbox can block PC users from crossplay, as studio takes "cheating extremely seriously

Battlefield 6 players on PS5 and Xbox can block PC users from crossplay, as studio takes “cheating extremely seriously

by admin September 17, 2025

Battlefield 6 will include console-only crossplay, meaning Xbox and PlayStation players can avoid those pesky cheating PC players.

Senior console combat designer Matthew Nickerson detailed to IGN the online shooter’s crossplay options, activated with a simple on/off toggle. Turned on, console players will be prioritised before PC players fill a lobby. Turned off, and only console players will be included across both PlayStation and Xbox. The option is turned on by default.

“We’re very confident but also very keen to what crossplay means for Battlefield 6,” said Nickerson. “We’ve gone the extra mile and put in a lot of effort in terms of balancing the inputs, understanding where the inputs lie [not just] in terms of relationship to general play styles but general performance of what they’re good at and maybe what they lack.”

Battlefield 6 Official Reveal TrailerWatch on YouTube

Cheating is a major issue across online shooters, with PC players being the most likely to cheat. That’s why console players often prefer to exclude them, if possible.

Technical director Christian Buhl said Battlefield Studios is “taking cheating extremely seriously”.

“Obviously, cheating is much more prevalent on PC than on console, but we are taking a lot of effort, putting a lot of work into prioritising fighting against cheaters,” he said. “We’ve turned on secure boot. We’ve got Javelin, our new anti-cheat system, which is required in order to play.

“So, we’re doing a lot on the PC side to clamp down on cheating as much as possible. We have a whole team within Battlefield dedicated to anti-cheat, which includes engineers, analysts who are reviewing things and banning players, and figuring out what the latest cheats are. We have another whole dedicated team at EA to anti-cheat that we work closely with. That’s what I can say. Now, we can never win against cheaters, right? Cheaters will always be there. It’s a never-ending cat-and-mouse game. I can’t promise that there will be zero cheaters if you’re playing against PC players. That’s just simply not possible, but I can say that we are being extremely aggressive. We see this as critical to the success of – to the health of – the game.”

Console players also use aim assist to balance play with PC players using mouse and keyboard for increased accuracy. But aim assist has been “completely redone” from Battlefield 2042, said Nickerson.

“We’ve added aim assist for what we call our ‘combat triangle’ now – and that’s infantry versus infantry, infantry versus vehicles, and vehicles versus vehicles – to give that cohesive experience if you are on controller, compared to, maybe, something that’s a little bit easier on keyboard and mouse. So [we’re] very dedicated to crossplay, and we’re trying to nail it across multiple vectors when it comes to crossplay. It’s just such an important aspect for us and for Battlefield 6.”

It’s all part of the studio’s console-first approach. It’s this that’s led to strong optimisation across consoles.

Buhl explained to Kotaku the team struggled to get the game running on Xbox Series S due to its lack of memory, with levels crashing. As a result, the team has optimised memory usage in the game which has in turn made the “whole game better and more stable”.

Battlefield 6 will release on 10th October across PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Just don’t expect a Switch 2 release any time soon.

Hit Viking Survival Game Valheim Is Finally Coming To PS5 Next Year

by admin September 17, 2025

Valheim, the hit indie Viking survival game from developer Iron Gate AB and Coffee Stain Publishing, is finally coming to PlayStation 5 in 2026. It’s currently unclear, though, if this version of the game will be 1.0 or Early Access.

Valheim launched into Early Access on PC back in 2021, quickly climbing up the Steam charts to become one of the most popular survival games of the year. That excitement continued well into 2022, with the audience growing in 2023 when Valheim launched into Game Preview on Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One, featuring cross-play as well. Now, Valheim is finally coming to PS5, and you can check out a new trailer celebrating the news below.

Since Valheim’s Early Access debut in 2021, it has garnered a 94 percent “Very Positive” rating on Steam, based on over 477,000 reviews and 12 million copies sold. Since that launch, Iron Gate AB has released various updates, including the following:

  • Hearth and Home: enhanced survival and base-building mechanics
  • Mistlands: introduced a new fog-shrouded biome filled with dangerous creatures and magic to master
  • Ashlands: introduced treacherous cliffs, boiling waters, and new threats
  • Call To Arms: the latest update, which updated combat and added new enemies, weapons, armor sets, and crafting materials

Valheim launches on PS5 in 2026. It is currently available on Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One (including Xbox Game Pass), PC via Steam Early Access, the Microsoft Store, PC Game Pass, and the Mac App Store.

Are you still playing Valheim? Let us know why we should be playing it in 2025 below!

New PS5 system update finally makes using a DualSense controller on multiple devices far less hassle

by admin September 16, 2025

A PS5 system update is due tomorrow that will finally add controller pairing across multiple devices.

It means if you’re using your DualSense controller across more than one console – or for PC or mobile play, for instance – you will no longer need to pair it each time.

This update was detailed by Sony back in July, but finally it will be available globally for users from tomorrow, 17th September.

The update will also add Power Saver mode, which will scale back performance to reduce power consumption. Future updates for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Demon’s Souls, and Ghost of Yōtei will make use of this feature.

Full details can be found on the PlayStation Blog.
