Nintendo Switch 2 Pokemon Console Bundle Is Finally Up For Preorder At Amazon

by admin September 13, 2025

This bundle is essentially replacing the Mario Kart World launch bundle, which has always been listed as a limited-time bundle expiring this fall. An exact end date for the Mario Kart Switch 2 bundle hasn’t been revealed, but it seems likely that it’ll be gone when the Pokemon bundle hits store shelves on October 16.

Just like with the Mario Kart bundle, this bundle saves you money versus buying the $450 console and $70 game separately. You’re getting a $20 discount by opting for the bundle. But unlike Mario Kart World, Pokemon Legends isn’t a Switch 2 exclusive; the game will also be available on the original Switch for $60.

Alfred Hitchcock 15-Film 4K Blu-Ray Ultimate Collection Is Up For Preorder

by admin September 10, 2025

Alfred Hitchcock: The Ultimate Collection is finally releasing on 4K Blu-ray. The 15-film box set has been available on standard Blu-ray since 2012, but 4K Hitchcock collections up until now have been smaller, 5-film collections. That changes October 14 when The Ultimate Collection arrives on 4K Blu-ray for $125. The 15-disc box set includes over nine hours of special features, a collectible booklet, and digital versions of each film. You can add the films to your Movies Anywhere library to download or stream on all of your devices.

Universal Pictures is also reissuing the 1080p Blu-ray edition for the first time since 2017. The Blu-ray version also comes with digital copies of each movie and mirrors the 4K box set’s bonus features and packaging. Preorders for the 2025 edition of The Ultimate Collection on Blu-ray are available for $88 at Walmart and $101 at Amazon.

Let’s take a closer look at The Ultimate Collection compared to the existing Hitchcock Classics Collections on 4K Blu-ray. You should also check out the Amazon hub we created with notable Hitchcock box sets and 4K Blu-rays in one place. Amazon has limited-time deals on a pair of Hitchcock 4K Blu-ray box sets with five films.

$125 | Releases October 14

The Ultimate Collection comes with the following 15 Hitchcock movies on 4K Blu-ray and digital:

  • The Birds
  • Family Plot
  • Frenzy
  • The Man Who Knew Too Much
  • Marnie
  • North by Northwest
  • Psycho
  • Rear Window
  • Rope
  • Saboteur
  • Shadow of a Doubt
  • Topaz
  • Torn Curtain
  • The Trouble with Harry
  • Vertigo

All 15 movies have High Dynamic Range (HDR10) and support DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0. Some of the movies support DTS:X and/or Dolby TrueHD surround sound. Special features vary by film, with classics like Psycho, The Birds, and Rear Window having a more robust list of extra content compared to Frenzy or Family Plot. In total, The Ultimate Collection offers more than nine hours of bonus content, including documentaries, commentaries, interviews, and behind-the-scenes features.

The discs are spread across two oversized plastic cases and packaged inside the cardboard display box shown above. The Ultimate Collection also comes with a 64-page collectible booklet with storyboards, production photographs, letters, trivia, and more.

The full list of special features for all 15 movies can be found in the product description on Amazon’s store page.

$88 | Releases October 14

If you’re interested in the standard Blu-ray version of The Ultimate Collection, you have a decision on your hands. The upcoming edition is likely to have better video/audio since it’s based on the 4K restorations. It also comes with a voucher for digital editions.

The 2017 edition, meanwhile, has 15 hours of bonus features, 7 episodes of Alfred Hitchcock Presents, and 3 episodes of The Alfred Hitchcock Hour. The collectible booklet also appears to be the same or very similar. This version only includes Blu-ray, no digital. There is a substantial price difference between the two, as you can get the 2017 edition for only $56.63 (was $100) at Amazon.

Alfred Hitchcock: The Ultimate Collection on 4K Blu-ray

The Alfred Hitchcock Classics Collections (4K Blu-ray + Blu-ray)

All of the Hitchcock films in The Ultimate Collection are already available on 4K Blu-ray, and you can get all but one of them by purchasing the three Alfred Hitchcock Classics Collections below. The only movie not included in these sets is North by Northwest. Each Classics Collection retails for $70, though there are limited-time deals on two that drop their prices to around $30 each.

The digital codes in these box sets are likely expired, but it is worth noting the Classics Collection box sets come with 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray discs. You will miss out on the collector’s booklet by skipping The Ultimate Collection.

Alfred Hitchcock: The Iconic Film Collection – Limited Edition

Alfred Hitchcock: The Iconic Film Collection – Limited Edition

North by Northwest may not be included in the Classics Collection series, but it was one of six films chosen for last year’s Alfred Hitchcock: The Iconic Film Collection. This 4K Blu-ray and digital box set is limited to 5,150 copies and has a stunning book-style display case with storyboards, sketches, previously unseen photographs, and new artwork. The Iconic Collection has 15 hours of bonus features–even more than the upcoming 15-film Ultimate Collection. Five of the six movies are also in the upcoming box set, with the lone original entry being To Catch a Thief.

The Iconic Film Collection – 4K Blu-ray + Digital:

  • The Birds
  • North by Northwest
  • Psycho
  • Rear Window
  • To Catch a Thief
  • Vertigo
  • 15 hours of bonus features
  • Book-style packaging

The Iconic Film Collection retails for $180 and is on sale for $125.89 at Amazon, so it’s almost exactly the same price as the upcoming Ultimate Collection.

If you want The Ultimate Collection but are disappointed that To Catch a Thief isn’t included, it’s worth checking out the recently released, collectible 4K Blu-ray edition. To Catch a Thief’s Limited Edition Steelbook launched in July and is available for $26 at Amazon. There’s also a Paramount Presents Limited Edition from last fall for $30.79.

There are only a few Hitchcock 4K Steelbook Editions in print today. The Birds Limited Edition Steelbook launched last December and is up for grabs for $21.45 at Amazon.

Alfred Hitchcock movies on 4K Blu-ray

And if you only are interested in one or two Hitchcock movies, you can find 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray combo packs for the movies in all of the collections mentioned above. Several of Hitchcock’s most popular films are super cheap right now on 4K, including Rear Window and Vertigo for $12 each and Psycho for $14.

A New Astro Bot Funko Pop Figure Is Up For Preorder

A New Astro Bot Funko Pop Figure Is Up For Preorder

by admin September 8, 2025

If you missed out on the limited-edition Astro Bot with Protector Funko Pop that launched earlier this year, fret not: Funko has officially opened preorders for the similarly styled Funko Pop Astro Bot, which arrives on January 30, 2026. It’s not quite the same as the limited-edition model, but it gives fans another chance to add PlayStation’s newest mascot to their figure collection. Since the last Astro Bot Funko Pop sold out quickly, we’re expecting this new $15 model to be quite popular, too. Consider taking a peek at its Amazon page and preordering while you can.

$15 | Releases January 30, 2026

This upcoming 3.75-inch Funko Pop Astro Bot vinyl figure features the same mid-air pose as the sold-out, Limited Edition model. The only difference is that it sports Astro Bot’s standard white and blue design, rather than the Limited Edition’s chrome finish. While it’s not as flashy, the upshot is it matches Astro Bot’s in-game look, which is nice for those who want an authetic version of the cute platforming mascot to display. The figure comes with a display base and packaging.

If you don’t want to wait for this new Funko Pop! to launch next year, there’s a highly poseable Astro Bot Nendoroid available for $130. It’s likely a bit too expensive for all but the most diehard Astro Bot fans, but with three face plates, optional parts like a fuse, fuse lid, coin, and laser feet, it’s a deluxe choice for discerning collectors. You’ll also find a handful of Astro Bot shirts up for grabs. These are all priced at around $20, with a variety of colors available for each style. From Astro Bot taking a quick rest to a collage of the game’s most common enemies, there are some cool designs to peruse.

Astro Bot T-Shirts

Haven’t yet played Astro Bot? You can snag it for $53 at Amazon. Our glowing Astro Bot review gave it a 9/10, praising just about everything it has to offer. “Stranded in space following an attack from a googly-eyed alien, Astro’s mission is to repair their ship and rescue all 300 pals scattered across five main clusters of planets, each composed of individual levels,” wrote critic Mark Delaney. “It may be 2024’s most immersive game, and it achieves that without a line of dialogue. Instead, each level tells a story, clear as day, about where you ought to go next and what you should do there.”

Lenovo Legion Go 2 Handheld Is Up For Preorder

by admin September 8, 2025

The Lenovo Legion Go 2 is officially available to preorder ahead of its October release, and we also now know how much each of its SKUs will cost: $1,100 for the standard Z2 model and $1,350 for the higher-specced Z2 Extreme version. That makes the handheld gaming PC quite expensive, but the device does have some high-quality hardware inside of it.

Internally, the base model is powered by the AMD Z2 SoC, while the premium model has more power with its AMD Z2 Extreme chip. Other specs include a high amount of LPDDR5X RAM, with the Z2 model getting 16GB and the Z2 Extreme having 32GB. Both of these devices are equipped with a 1TB PCIe SSD–with an option to add up to 2TB of extra storage via MicroSD–an 8.8-inch 1200p OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, and a 74Wh battery.

The Legion Go 2 also has Switch-like functionality, as its TrueStrike controllers are detachable. This allows the unit to shift between handheld, tabletop, console, or FPS modes. Switching to FPS mode is especially interesting, as the TrueStrike controller adopts a joystick position.

The Legion Go 2 also has an updated thermal design that delivers up to 45% more airflow, 2W speakers with Nahimic and spatial audio, near-field dual mics, and a 3.5mm jack for wired gear. You’ll also get a voucher for three months of PC Game Pass, so you’ll have a library of games you can access right out of the box, like Hollow Knight: Silksong.

This isn’t the only handheld gaming PC coming out soon, as the ROG Xbox Ally is expected to launch during the holiday season. Xbox partnered with Asus on this Windows-based handheld, which will be available in a base model and a premium “X” edition.

The white base model Xbox Ally is equipped with an AMD Ryzen Z2A chip, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD with a 60Wh battery, while the black Xbox Ally X has an AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme APU, 24GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD, and an 80Wh battery. Both devices have the same 7″ 1080p screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, and in terms of ergonomics, they’re designed to feel more comfortable with their sculpted handles. The Xbox Ally targets a resolution of 720p, while the Xbox Ally X aims for a 1080p resolution.

The other big thing to note here is that both handhelds are running on a version of Windows that’s designed to make accessing games easier and smoother. The main issue with Windows-based mobile gaming PCs is that the flexibility they give users with accessing various storefronts is countered by an unintuitive desktop experience. At the end of the day, they’re still PCs, and accessing apps on them can be awkward due to the size of the screen.

With the Xbox Ally, the Xbox App now supports multiple storefronts like Steam, GOG, and Epic Games, allowing you to gather all of your downloaded games into a centralized launcher.

While the new Legion Go 2 is pricy, you can still get several of the previous models at a lower price. For an entry-level option, there’s the Lenovo Legion Go S for $650, which has an 8-inch 120Hz Lenovo PureSight display and an AMD Ryzen Z2 Go chip with Radeon graphics. This one doesn’t have detachable controllers, but with 16GB of RAM and a 512TB SSD, it’s still a solid option that can easily play a wide variety of games.

Best Buy also has the first-generation Lenovo Legion Go for $740. This model does have detachable controllers, the Z1 Extreme processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD. It’s not as advanced as the upcoming model, but it’s still surprisingly powerful.

2000 now available for pre-order

by admin September 6, 2025

A new campaign for Twilight: 2000 is now available for pre-order by Free League Publishing:

Free League Publishing announced that the next major campaign supplement for the award-winning fourth edition of Twilight: 2000, Operation Reset, is available now for pre-order through the Free League webshop. Pre-orders will receive early access to a complete PDF of the module once it is finalized, ahead of the physical retail release in spring 2026.

Twilight: 2000 is a roleplaying game about survival in mankind’s most desperate hour. Yet, in this bleak world, there is still hope. In the midst of utter destruction, you can start to build something new. Rally people to your ranks. Stake a claim and protect it. And maybe, if you live long enough, start turning the tide.

Operation Reset, written by Chris Lites and Tomas Härenstam, concludes the storyline introduced in Urban Operations and Hostile Waters, and asks the ultimate question: having brought itself to the brink of extinction, can humanity find a way to save itself in the end?

About Operation Reset

Walking through the ruins for two klicks at most and everyone looks like powdered donuts from the knees down. The ruins are pulverized, I mean totally. It makes dust that gets in your eyes, your hair and, when it rains, all over our booths and pants. But I don’t mind the paste the rain creates as much as the jagged edges of rebar, concrete, and brick. Kasia keeps making fun of me for wiping out in the wet mess. Finally, the rain stopped and a few fingers of sunlight found the destroyed city and it sparkled like diamonds. But that’s just because of all the shattered glass embedded in everything. I swear, the city itself wants us dead. Top told me to police that kind of talk when I said it out loud, but we’re all thinking it.

A spiritual successor to the classic Ruins of Warsaw supplement for the first edition of Twilight: 2000 by GDW, Operation Reset includes setting information for the devastated cities of Warsaw and Stockholm, but can be set in any major metropolis devastated in the World War III that never was. Key features:

  • Full-color book with new factions, encounters, scenario sites, and rich setting material.
  • New rules for mass battles between large forces.
  • New encounter cards tailored for the Operation Reset storyline.
  • Scenario site battle maps and modular battle maps for devastated urban environments.
  • A huge double-sided full-color map in format 34×22 inches (864x558mm) of Warsaw and Stockholm, for city travel and mass battles.

Astro Bot PS5 Controller Returns October, Pre-Order Go Live Soon

by admin September 2, 2025

Last year, Sony released a new PS5 Dualsense controller themed around the then-upcoming platformer Astro Bot. The game was a huge hit with critics and fans, as was the controller, which sold out quickly and became hard to find. But now, a slightly tweaked version of the popular gamepad is returning in October with pre-orders later this month.

On September 2, after some teasing in July, PlayStation revealed that the new “Joyful” version of the Astro Bot PS5 controller was officially launching just before Halloween, on October 30. And gamers who missed out on buying an Astro Bot controller last year will have a chance to pre-order the new version on September 12 at 10 a.m. local time via PlayStation’s own online store and “participating retailers.”

Astro Bot returns with a new delightful twist!

The limited edition Astro Bot Joyful DualSense launches October 30. Pre-orders start September 12 at 10am local time at https://t.co/y9oEB5a3CG and participating retailers. pic.twitter.com/TLqJEyEZSt

— PlayStation (@PlayStation) September 2, 2025

This isn’t the same controller that was sold back in 2024 and quickly gobbled up and scalped on eBay for more than twice the price. Well, it’s mostly the same controller. The only real difference is the touchpad. On the OG Astro Bot gamepad, the eyes were open and always watching you play. This time around, the eyes are slightly closed, simulating joy and happiness. It’s a bit less creepy, which is nice.

No price was shared for this new version of the controller, but last time PlayStation sold the Astro Bot Dualsense controller, it was priced at $80. Still, the new Astro Bot pad might cost a bit more. The boring and ugly Last-of-Us-themed Dualsense controller from Sony cost $85 earlier this year.

Whatever it costs, you can expect it to go for much more when resellers inevitably grab up a ton of them and sell them on eBay. Heck, the original Astro Bot Dualsense controller still goes for $110 to $160 sealed on the internet’s ancient auction house. So if you really want a joyful Astro Bot-themed Dualsense controller and you don’t want to pay $200 or whatever, I’d be hanging out at your computer on September 12, ready to pre-order the moment they go live. Good luck with that!

Preorder The Shining Film Vault Special Edition At Walmart Before It’s Gone

by admin August 24, 2025

Stanley Kubrick and Stephen King fans can secure a preorder for a highly collectible 4K Blu-ray edition of The Shining at Walmart. Part of The Film Vault collector’s series, The Shining Special Edition Steelbook is available to order for $100 at Walmart ahead of its September 2 release in the US. Along with the steelbook case with new artwork, this limited-edition release comes with cigar box packaging, a double-sided poster, and a bunch of art cards. It looks like the ultimate collector’s version of the legendary horror movie, so snag a copy while you still can. A cheaper edition without the extras releases the same day. The Shining Solus Steelbook Edition is $65 and has sold out at least twice already.

Created by Vice Press in partnership with Warner Bros. UK, The Shining Special Edition is one of two early ’80s horror films in The Film Vault Wave 3. The Shining will launch alongside the 1982 supernatural horror film Poltergeist. Walmart is also taking preorders for Poltergeist’s Special Edition Steelbook and Poltergeist Solus Steelbook. Both editions were in stock at the time of writing. The Shining and Poltergeist Film Vault limited editions come with region-free 4K Blu-ray and 1080p Blu-ray discs.

The Film Vault Wave 3 at Walmart

$100 | Limited Edition | Releases September 2

  • Steelbook Case with exclusive artwork
  • Cigar Box with new artwork and Acetate O-Ring
    • Remove O-Ring for text-free display box
  • Numbered Holographic Sticker
  • Double-sided Movie Poster
    • Side 1: New poster by Matt Ferguson & Florey of Vice Press
    • Side 2: Retouched version of Saul Bass’ iconic Theatrical Poster
  • Art Cards
    • 5 Character Cards
    • 3 Behind-the-Scenes Cards
  • The Shining on 4K Blu-ray
  • The Shining & Special Features on Blu-ray

Note: Both of the Film Vault editions listed on Walmart’s site, along with a couple of other retailer-exclusive versions, sold out months ago in the UK and at specialty Blu-ray shops.

Walmart will almost certainly sell out of both editions before launch. If you missed out on the 2025 Walmart-exclusive Steelbook Edition of The Shining, now’s your chance to grab one that looks much cooler. But you may want to move fast. I wrote an article about Walmart’s The Shining Steelbook when preorders opened last December, and it sold out the following day.

The Film Vault: The Shining Special Edition

The Shining Special Edition Steelbook by Vice Press & Warner Bros. UK

The Film Vault places the movie title and other text on acetate O-rings, allowing fans to choose whether to display the cigar box with or without words and logos. The new artwork by Matt Ferguson and Florey looks beautiful. The cigar box has a large silhouette of Jack Torrance with the fireman’s axe overlooking (sorry) the Overlook Hotel. On the back is Jack’s typewriter, and there are even words on the paper–likely the same sentence over and over again. The artwork on the steelbook case recreates the scene where Jack trudges through the hedge maze.

The steelbook artwork is also featured on the double-sided movie poster. The other side is a retouched version of Saul Bass’ well-known poster that was created for The Shining’s 1980 theatrical release. The eight art cards showcase memorable shots from the film as well as behind-the-scenes production photographs.

If you’re unfamiliar with The Film Vault, it’s a series of collectible editions of classic movies from the Warner Bros. and Universal Pictures film catalogs. The Film Vault was created in 2022 by Vice Press, a UK company specializing in officially licensed movie collectibles and artwork. All of the 4K Blu-rays released by The Film Vault are region-free discs, but as a UK company, these limited-edition versions of all-time classics aren’t regularly found at US retailers. We suspect The Shining is exclusive to Walmart in the US.

The Film Vault: The Shining Steelbook Edition

The Shining Solus Steelbook Edition by Vice Press & Warner Bros. UK

At the time of writing, The Shining Solus Steelbook Limited Edition is sold out–but we’d recommend checking to see if Walmart restocked it. It has already received at least one restock. It was sold out when I first found the store page August 22, but I was able to order a copy on August 23, just a few hours before writing this story.

The above image provides a look at the back cover of the steelbook case and the hedge maze landscape artwork on the inside covers. Just like with the Special Edition, the Solus Steelbook comes with an acetate O-ring with with the title and other text. It is worth noting that the Special Edition’s O-ring is for the cigar box–you won’t get a second O-ring for the steelbook case.

$124 | 2-Book Hardcover Box Set (1,396 Pages)

If you are interested in a $100 edition of The Shining, it’s a safe bet that you or someone you know is a huge fan. As a massive fan myself, I can say that if I had to choose between a fancy new edition of The Shining on 4K Blu-ray or the recently released compendium about the film, I would pick the compendium without thinking twice.

Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining is a two-volume, 1,396-page box set that offers a staggeringly comprehensive look at the making of the film. This beautiful slipcase collection was designed by M/M Paris and published by Taschen earlier this year.

Written by J.W. Rinzler and edited by Pixar director Lee Unkrich, this compendium is based on hundreds of hours of interviews and mountains of investigative research. The first book, which includes an introduction by Steven Spielberg, chronicles every step of the production. When I received my copy earlier this year, I was astounded by the level of detail provided throughout the roughly 900-page hardcover book. If there’s a more thorough making-of book about a single movie, I would be shocked. This book is nearly as long as all three volumes in Rinzler’s The Making of Star Wars series, which is also fantastic.

The box set also comes with a gorgeous scrapbook filled with a wide array of photographs, artwork, and documents related to the production of The Shining.

To put it simply: This compendium is the best collection of behind-the-scenes material–across any medium–I’ve ever read.

Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining is in stock at Amazon for $124, but it’s unknown how many copies the publisher printed and whether it will receive additional print runs. Amazon sold out when preorders opened last summer, and the box set remained out of stock until a few months ago.
