Bitcoin Set For ‘Massive Political News’ Tuesday: Dennis Porter

Dennis Porter, CEO and co-founder of Satoshi Action Fund, spent much of Sunday, September 21, stoking anticipation for what he called a watershed moment for Bitcoin policy in the United States, promising “MASSIVE POLITICAL NEWS COMING FOR BITCOIN TUESDAY THAT WILL RESHAPE THE TRAJECTORY OF BITCOIN POLITICS. THIS WILL BE A DEFINING MOMENT.”

In a late-US-hours video posted to X, Porter told followers that the announcement, to be unveiled during a coordinated X Space “with one of the largest shows in the space,” is intended to “potentially reorder the political conversation for Bitcoin across the country.”

What To Expect From The Bitcoin News On Tuesday?

Porter framed the reveal as part of a broader effort to move US policy onto “a better pathway” and away from what he described as a “dangerous pathway,” adding that the initiative is designed to build durable momentum for federal-level legislation.

“If you really want to see something like a strategic Bitcoin reserve (SBR) bill get passed at the federal level, if you want to see Bitcoin rights get passed at the federal level, then you’re going to want to pay attention to what’s happening on Tuesday,” Porter said. He stressed expectations should be political rather than market-moving in the short term: “This is not going to be some country buying 10 million Bitcoin.”

Porter positioned Tuesday’s reveal as a foundational step toward converting executive-branch direction into statute. “If you live by executive order, you’ll die by executive order,” he said, arguing that any US SBR must ultimately be codified by Congress to survive future administrations.

The comments arrive in a year when state-level experiments—and federal debate—over public-sector BTC holdings have accelerated. In May, New Hampshire became the first US state to enact a SBR law, authorizing the treasurer to allocate up to a fixed share of certain public funds into Bitcoin under specified conditions. The Granite State was followed by Arizona and Texas.

Many other states have introduced bills or are considering legislation for SBRs. Some bills have passed out of committee; others have failed to advance or were vetoed. For example, proposals in Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, and Florida have been brought forward; however, they have not succeeded into law.

Satoshi Action Fund, the advocacy group Porter leads, was a primary architect of this state-by-state strategy. Its public materials and social-media profiles claim involvement in “9 bills in 8 different states,” alongside grassroots campaigns aimed at mobilizing constituents behind pro-BTC policy. Porter reiterated that record on Sunday while thanking “over 2,500” supporters and the lawmakers who “put their careers on the line” to advance the cause.

While Porter did not preview the specific contours of Tuesday’s announcement, his remarks outlined two immediate objectives: entrenching “Bitcoin rights” at both state and federal levels, and advancing a statutory framework for a US SBR. He suggested Satoshi Action has been working “quietly” on multiple “stealth projects” to “reshape the conversation and make sure that we generate more political momentum for Bitcoin,” signaling that further disclosures will follow the initial reveal.

For now, the only clear facts are those Porter put on the record: the announcement will be political in nature; it will aim to “set the foundation” for a federal strategic-reserve bill and for nationwide “Bitcoin rights”; and it will be unveiled on Tuesday, September 23, during a high-profile X Space. Everything else—what the initiative specifically entails, who is backing it, and how quickly it could translate into draft legislation—will be answered when the details are made public. As Porter put it, “This is going to be a very big piece in making sure that we get to that final place with a strategic Bitcoin reserve bill.”

At press time, BTC traded at $114,264.

AI industry pledges $100m to Super PACs, copying crypto’s political playbook

by admin August 26, 2025

Tech billionaires, including Andreessen Horowitz, Greg and Anna Brockman, already pledged $100 million to change AI regulation in the U.S.

Summary

  • The AI industry is putting $100 million into influencing U.S. policy on AI
  • Andreessen Horowitz, Greg, and Anna Brockman are among the backers
  • The move comes after the crypto industry’s success in the November 2024 elections

The AI industry is copying the crypto playbook, hoping to shape U.S. regulation in the coming years. On Monday, August 25, a group of major AI firms and tech billionaires launched the Leading the Future platform, set to influence regulations around AI technology.

With funding that already reached $100 million, the organization will lead federal and state Super PACs, funding candidates with a pro-AI agenda and opposing others. These Super PACs will target races in both primary and general elections.

The organization will also focus on drafting policy proposals, lobbying, and rating lawmakers on their voting track record. What is more, they will also engage in public relations, aimed at changing the public’s perception of the AI industry.

Supporters of the platform include Andreessen Horowitz, Greg and Anna Brockman, AI firm Perplexity, Ron Conway from SV Angel, and Joe Lonsdale from 8VC.

AI industry copies crypto’s playbook

Leading the Future’s playbook largely reflects that of crypto groups, such as Fairshake, which was the largest Super PAC in the 2024 elections. Notably, Andreessen Horowitz was one of Fairshake’s major backers, while others included industry giants such as Coinbase, Ripple Labs.

Fairshake used more than $200 million in funding to support pro-crypto political candidates while opposing those that don’t align with the industry. By the group’s own standards, the results were a resounding success. After the November 2024 elections, over 250 pro-crypto candidates joined Congress. Most of the new pro-crypto candidates were Republicans, and the Super PAC managed to oust some long-time incumbents.

European Technology Sovereignty Watch

Europe’s silent tech crisis deepens as entire industries run on American systems while sovereignty slogans collapse under Washington’s shifting political winds and corporate dominance

by admin August 25, 2025

  • European firms are deeply locked into foreign office suites and systems
  • American platforms manage the communication backbones of Europe’s largest corporations
  • Reliance on external providers exposes utilities and healthcare to foreign oversight

For years, European governments and corporations leaned heavily on American technology offerings instead of nurturing local alternatives.

That choice now carries visible consequences, as sanctions and shifting trade rules brought in by the Trump administration drastically reshape the balance of power.

A recent analysis of business email domains across Europe by Proton shows a striking majority of publicly listed firms rely on American providers such as Google and Microsoft.

Data reveals the depth of reliance

Behind the rhetoric of digital sovereignty, the reality is that much of Europe’s digital infrastructure rests on technology stacks that entities outside its borders control. This is not just about convenience software but also about essential systems that underpin finance, healthcare, and utilities.

Email may appear mundane, but it often serves as the gateway to office software, online collaboration platforms, and cloud-based storage.

When a company commits to a provider for email, it usually adopts the full suite, embedding foreign technology deep into its operations.

This trend is not limited to smaller economies but also includes the continent’s largest players, where dependence cuts across industries from energy and telecommunications to pharmaceuticals.

In countries like Iceland, Norway, Finland, and Sweden, over 90% of publicly listed companies rely on American services for email and related infrastructure.

However, the shocker is probably Ireland, which is at loggerheads with the US on several policies, but 93% of its businesses depend on American tech.

The UK, although mostly an ally of the US, has an alarming 88% of businesses relying on US tech, while other European heavyweights like Spain, Portugal, and Switzerland recorded 74%, 72%, and 68% of businesses relying on US tech, respectively.

Even France, which often champions its own autonomy, sees two out of three (66%) companies tied to US providers.

Eastern European countries like Bulgaria (16%) and Romania (39%) are the least dependent on American tech, and Russia is not even on the list of nations dependent on the US.

National security concerns emerge when utilities, transport systems, and healthcare facilities communicate through networks governed by foreign jurisdictions, but perhaps not when the network belongs to the US.

The reliance stretches far beyond convenience; it embeds itself in the very systems Europeans use every day – dependence on foreign technology does not just present a financial vulnerability; it raises questions about surveillance, geopolitical leverage, and the future of innovation.

AI training programs outside Europe’s control can sweep in sensitive business data, while reliance on external platforms exposes companies to warrantless legal demands.

This arrangement has also fostered a talent and capital drain, as engineers and investors direct their focus toward Silicon Valley rather than strengthening European ecosystems, whether through proprietary services or alternative Linux distros.

Some argue that American technology simply offers the best tools available, which may be true in terms of efficiency and global reach, yet the consequences of reliance are increasingly hard to ignore, since the US can turn off the switch at any time, and thousands of companies will be in crisis.

The fact that so many European firms cannot operate without American software demonstrates the fragile nature of Europe’s autonomy.

Rather than securing independence, Europe risks locking itself further into external dependencies at a moment when political winds in Washington are shifting.

Zenless Zone Zero 2.2 gets political with its focus on power struggles in the Waifei Peninsula

by admin August 22, 2025

HoYoverse has delivered some more fresh gamescom week news – and no, it’s not the big Genshin Impact update we covered yesterday. This time, it’s all about Zenless Zone Zero, which itself is preparing for its next major update.

The big Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night chapter, otherwise known as Version 2.2, has a release date and everything.

ZZZ’s version 2.2 arrives September 4 across all platforms. The narrative is set after the Defence Force dealt with the Exaltists’ conspiracy, and stars Seed and Orphie & Magus from the Defense Force’s Obol Squad. They’ve been dispatched to investigate the power struggles in New Eridu.

Part of their mission is to eliminate any remaining Exaltists, but there’s a bit of a mystery surrounding Obol Squad itself that they’re going to uncover, shedding light on its past.

Newcomer Seed is an S-Rank Electric Attack Agent, who, together with the Seed Sr. mecha, offer big combat bonuses. Seed is made to work well with other Attack Agents, mainly because they can boost the sustained damage output of the squad. Orphie & Magus is another S-Rank Attack Agent, except with a Fire elemental speciality.

As the squad’s captain, they work well as assist. Orphie is able to gather Bottled Heat, and get all squad members in a Zeroed-in state each time enemies are hit. This boosts attack damage, and even allows Aftershocks to go through a portion of enemy defences.

Mercury is another new arrival, an S-Rank Bangboo who supports the squad from inside the tank that they drive. Returning Agents for this update will be Trigger (S-Rank Electric Stun) and Evelyn (S-Rank Fire Attack).

HoYoverse also teased the return of Soldier 0 – Anby, who’ll be arriving back in the game at some point soon, once she’s done with her training.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a new update without in-game events. Band of Brave Bangboo, the Bangboo tower defence event, is getting new maps, enemies, and mechanics, and a free A-Rank Excaliboo once you’ve cleared enough stages. There’s also the more chill Rhythm Rave event, which as you might expect is a bit of a rhythm minigame.

Finally, you can expect some general quality of life tweaks and other optimisation. For example: you’ll now be able to pick between Belle and Wise before starting companion events, such as Quality Time. A happy day for whichever sibling was being denied a social life in your game until now!

As ever, our Zenless Zone Zero codes page has been updated with that good, free stuff. Check it out.
