Google Search uses AI-generated podcast hosts to answer your questions

by admin June 14, 2025

Instead of digging through all the top search results, you can now ask Google Search to give you a comprehensive AI-generated summary with its Audio Overviews feature. The AI feature uses Google Gemini models to create a short audio clip that sounds like a conversational podcast with two hosts.

It’s not ideal for your basic search queries like finding out when Father’s Day is, but it’s helpful if you want an in-depth and hands-free response to the history and significance of Flag Day. The Audio Overviews option pulls from the front page Google Search results and compiles them into an audio summary where two voices bounce off each other for a more engaging answer. You can also adjust the volume and playback speed between 0.25x and 2x. Audio Overviews even includes the webpages it pulls the info from, letting you continue down the Google Search rabbit hole.

It’s not the first time Google has offered its Audio Overviews tool, but it was previously reserved for its NotebookLM tool. Google expanded on this feature by making Audio Overviews within NotebookLM more interactive, allowing you to ask the AI hosts questions in real-time, and added a “Deep Dive” option to get the AI to focus on a specific topic. To test out the Audio Overviews as part of Google Search, you have to opt into the Google Labs feature on its website.

The Game Informer Show Podcast Is Back!

by admin June 5, 2025

Alongside the rest of the magazine and website, The Game Informer Show podcast took an unexpected hiatus last year. We’ve been hard at work getting our feet back under us, making lots of behind-the-scenes efforts on the website, and working toward bringing back the physical magazine. It’s kept us busy!

But ahead of the magazine officially returning, Summer Game Fest activities, and the launch of Switch 2, we wanted to make sure we had an outlet to share our conversations and have you listen in. Alex Van Aken, Marcus Stewart, Charles Harte, and I have the first episode in the can where we talk about the shutdown and how it affected us, what we’ve been playing, and lots more.

That episode isn’t available quite yet, but we wanted to make sure you know where to subscribe to the show when the first episode drops on Friday, June 6.

You can find some direct links below or watch a video version of the podcast on our YouTube channel. You can also search for The Game Informer Show wherever you listen to podcasts.

We’re looking forward to your feedback!

Pokimane & LilyPichu reveal how much money their podcast really makes

by admin May 27, 2025

Twitch stars Pokimane and LilyPichu have exposed how profitable their ‘Sweet N Sour’ podcast is – and the results may surprise you.

In September 2024, Pokimane and LilyPichu launched their podcast, ‘Sweet N Sour,’ where the duo would dig into hot topics in the streamer space and share info about their lives.

So far, the podcast has 37 episodes. On the May 24 edition, the two decided to dig into just how much money they’re making from it.

In a highly transparent presentation, Poki and Lily explained how much they had invested in the show, how Patreon plays a factor, and all sorts of other details.

To begin, the two revealed that in order to start up the podcast, it cost over $16,000 to start filming episode one because they needed to design a set and soundproof it.

From there, every month they spent $13,300 to pay their seven staff members and afford tools such as a Sony membership, Google Workspace and Tier 3 Patreon goodies.

However, through ads and Patreon, the two are covering their losses. In March, they made over $18,000, in April a little under $15,000, and in May, just under $16,000.

When all is said and done, their estimated monthly income on the low end is $2,700 and the highest is $12,500, with an average of $5,500.

The fluctuation all comes down to both ad numbers, sponsorships and Patreon memberships, as the most they’ve ever had so far has been 900.

“It’s crazy that even with 1,000-ish Patreon members, it’s making up half of our income. Without our Patreon members, we would not be running,” Poki explained.

Given that the podcast is still in its early days and hasn’t even yet celebrated its one year anniversary, expect to see Sweet N Sour become a lot more lucrative in the months ahead.

Pokimane and LilyPichu aren’t the only streamers to reveal how much they’ve made. Back in December, Asmongold exposed how much he makes from Twitch after finally monetizing his Zackrawrr alt account.
