Turns out a relatively important plot point in The Witcher games shouldn’t exist at all, so says the books’ author

by admin September 30, 2025

The thing about an adaptation, is that sometimes you’ve got to twist things slightly to better do what you want to do. Whether that’s the right choice or not depends on how militant you are about the concept of faithfulness. When it comes to The Witcher series, however, I expect most people won’t care, except for the author of the original books Andrzej Sapkowski himself. His personal gripe? The very existence of different witcher schools.

In The Witcher games, there’s various Witcher schools that crop up here and there, with Geralt of Rivia coming from the School of the Wolf. Except according to a recent AMA with Sapkowski on Reddit (thanks, PC Gamer), the whole idea of schools was completely blown out of proportion. “The issue of ‘witcher schools’ requires – I apologise – a longer explanation,” Sapkowski wrote. “A single sentence about some ‘school of the Wolf’ mysteriously made its way into The Last Wish. I later deemed it unworthy of development and narratively incorrect, even detrimental to the plot.”

For some context, The Last Wish is the first book he wrote in the series. The author goes on to explain that he didn’t include any references to any other schools in any of his other books from that point on. “However, that one sentence was enough. Adaptors, particularly video game people, have clung to the idea with remarkable tenacity and have wonderfully multiplied these ‘witcher schools.’ Completely unnecessary.”

Sapkowski also noted how he’s not sure how he wants to go about dispelling this idea of schools, suggesting removing any mention of them in future editions of The Last Wish, or even just outright expanding and clarifying the idea in future books. “Perhaps I’ll shed some light on the issue of Witcher medallions, their significance, and their connection to specific individuals? There are many possibilities, and the sky is the limit.”

I have to admit, this does tickle me quite a bit. I’m not a mega Witcher fan, I enjoyed the third one enough, but the schools did feel important enough to be relatively memorable. And they’re just not really a thing apparently!

Ultimately Sapkowski’s comments don’t really matter as the games have obviously taken on a very large life of their own. I doubt there’ll be anyone at CD Projekt Red who’s going to lose any sleep over this either.

In any case, there was meant to be one last Witcher 3 patch this year, but that recently got the boot to 2026. I’m sure you can wait a while longer for your cross-platform mod support.

MSTR stock plot thickens as Strategy’s mNAV and Bitcoin price crash

by admin September 26, 2025

Strategy stock price crashed below an important support level as Bitcoin fell below $110,000 and as its mNAV multiple reached its year-to-date low.

Summary

  • MSTR stock price has crashed below an important support level.
  • There is a risk that it will form a death cross pattern soon.
  • Bitcoin price has formed a head-and-shoulders on the daily chart and a rising wedge on the weekly.

Strategy stock price traded $297 on Thursday, its lowest level since April, and 35% below its all time high. This crash has brought its market capitalization from the year-to-date high of $129 billion to now $84 billion.

MSTR stock plunged amid the ongoing crypto market crash. Bitcoin (BTC) fell below $110,000 for the first time since Sep. 1. Worse, as the chart below shows, it has formed a head-and-shoulders pattern, pointing to more downside in the near term.

Bitcoin has also formed a giant rising wedge on the weekly chart, meaning that this could be the start of a prolonged bear market.

A prolonged Bitcoin price crash would be negative for Strategy, a company that has become the biggest holder globally. It holds 639,835 coins, currently worth $69 billion. The same coins would be worth $80 billion if it was at its all-time high of $124,200.

Most importantly, the falling BTC price means that the company’s premium has plunged. The closely-watched mNAV multiple has dropped to the year-to-date low of 1.195, down from the November high of 3.4.

The falling mNAV multiple is risky for the company because it uses its premium to raise capital, which it uses to buy Bitcoin. For a long time, Saylor’s rule was that he would not issue shares if the mNAV moved below 2.5. He changed it in August, opening the door for more dilution.

The daily timeframe chart shows that the MSTR stock price has crashed from a high of $457 in July to $295 today.

It dropped below the important support level at $318, where it failed to move below several times this month.

Worse, the stock is about to form the risky death cross pattern as the spread between the 50-day and 200-day Exponential Moving Averages has narrowed.

A death cross would lead to more downside, potentially to the important support level at $230, its lowest level in April this year. This target is about 25% below the current level.

Everything we know about Death Stranding Mosquito: Anime movie cast, plot, more

by admin September 24, 2025

An animated Death Stranding movie is in the works, yes, alongside a live-action movie as well, and we’ve got the early rundown on all there is to know. From cast details to the plot, here’s the full overview.

Hideo Kojima is a busy a man. Hot on the heels of Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, one of 2025’s best games, he’s now working on a plethora of gaming and non-gaming projects.

From OD and Physint to a live-action Death Stranding movie and now, even an animated film as well. The Death Stranding universe continues to expand beyond the scope of Sam Porter Bridges and his continent-hopping journey, as the anime film titled Mosquito has a different focus.

While it’s early days yet and the film is very much in active development, here’s an early rundown on everything we know thus far.

Is there a release date?

No, there’s currently no release date or even rough release window for Death Stranding Mosquito.

All we know is that the anime film is in the works, but there’s no quite telling when it might be finished. Animation can take years to nail down, as we’ve seen with the likes of the Spider-Verse trilogy.

Given we’ve only seen a small glimpse with its reveal in 2025, it’d be wise not to expect this one imminently. If we had to hedge our bets, we’d look to a 2027 release for this one.

What’s the anime movie about?

Kojima has confirmed the animated movie will not focus on Norman Reedus as Sam. Instead, it’s set to “chart a bold, original story,” according to a press release upon the film’s reveal.

Our first look came during the Kojima Productions 10th Anniversary Livestream on September 23, 2025. It revealed two new characters, one being the yet-unnamed protagonist.

Both look to be Porters for rival delivery companies, and they’re both equipped with Odradeks capable of scanning Beached Things (BTs) in the area. Exactly why they’re fighting so fiercely, however, remains a mystery.

Kojima teased the title of Mosquito has to do with the main character and “their ability. The character has the ability to suck something really important.”

It’s open to speculation but our guess is this character can separate the Ha and Ka, as the open shot of the trailer appeared to take place in The Seam. It’s here, in this realm before the dead are transported to The Beach, that our protagonist approaches the body of another and seemingly ‘sucks’ their life force in order to trigger repatriation.

Kojima ProductionsWe think the protagonist has a very important ability indeed.

Of course, we’ll just have to wait and see if that is indeed the case.

Death Stranding Mosquito cast & crew details

Little is known about the actors involved in the project at the time of writing. No Hollywood A-listers or voice acting legends have been announced, but there’s no doubt some big names are sure to be attached in typical Kojima fashion.

What we do know is who’s helping shape the story and the visual style. Aaron Guzikowski has signed on to write the anime film, following on from acclaimed works like Prisoners and Raised by Wolves. “He had a good idea,” Kojima said.

Meanwhile, Hiroshi Miyamoto is directing the anime itself, leading the charge for the mix of hand-drawn and digital artwork.

Our first look at Death Stranding Mosquito debuted during the Kojima Productions 10th Anniversary event alongside a litany of information on other projects in the works. Here, we got our initial glimpse at the unique art style along with key art featuring the protagonist.

Here’s The Street Fighter Release Date, Cast List, And First Plot Details

by admin September 4, 2025

In 1994, Capcom’s Street Fighter franchise hit the big screen with Jean-Claude Van Damme in the lead as Guile. While the team behind that film made the curious choice to emulate G.I. Joe instead of the arcade games it was based upon, the new Street Fighter movie is going back to the source material and taking fans back to the ’90s.

Legendary Entertainment has shared the first details about the Street Fighter reboot, which will be set in 1993. Unlike the previous live-action Street Fighter movies–including Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li–the focus will fall on Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo), two fighters who have become estranged from each other. However, Chun-Li (Callina Liang) reunites the pair when she recruits them for the World Warrior Tournament. The synopsis also teases the “deadly conspiracy” behind the battle royale, which will almost certainly lead back to the franchise’s primary villain, M. Bison.

As part of the announcement, Legendary revealed that Street Fighter will hit theaters on October 16, 2026. It’s the first film in a three-year distribution deal with Paramount Pictures. But it doesn’t affect Legendary’s Minecraft and Godzilla x Kong sequels, both of which remain with Warner Bros. under the terms of previously signed deals.

Legendary also shared the complete cast for Street Fighter, including two current WWE wrestlers: Cody Rhodes and Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i, who will portray Guile and Akuma, respectively. The rest of the performers are listed below.

  • David Dastmalchian as M. Bison
  • Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki
  • Eric André as Don Sauvage
  • Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim
  • Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog
  • Jason Momoa as Blanka
  • Orville Peck as Vega
  • Olivier Richters as Zangief
  • Hirooki Goto as E. Honda
  • Rayna Vallandingham as Juli
  • Alexander Volkanovski as Joe
  • Kyle Mooney as Marvin
  • Mel Jarnson as Cammy

Kitao Sakurai is directing the film, which is already in production. A gallery of the cast in the style of Street Fighter 2’s selection screen can be found below.
