Bitcoin is at a crossroads, with analysts divided on its next move. According to fresh data from CryptoQuant, Bitcoin just flashed a significant signal. The Bitcoin Scarcity Index on Binance, the world’s largest trading platform, spiked yesterday—the first such move since June. This sudden jump usually suggests a major shift in market structure, often triggered by large withdrawals of BTC from exchanges or a sharp drop in sell orders. Both scenarios reflect a tightening of supply, making Bitcoin scarcer in the open market.

Historically, such spikes have coincided with the entry of institutional players or large whales buying aggressively. While this points toward accumulation, it also underscores the high-stakes environment. With the Fed’s decision imminent, the market could be on the verge of a decisive move that sets the tone for the rest of the year.

Bitcoin Scarcity Index Signals Market Crossroads

According to Arab Chain on CryptoQuant, the recent spike in the Bitcoin Scarcity Index reflects a sudden imbalance between buyers and available supply. The index jumps when immediate buying power overwhelms market liquidity, often creating a scenario where investors race to acquire BTC before prices move higher. Historically, such spikes have coincided with positive developments or inflows of fresh capital. In fact, the same pattern occurred last June and lasted several days, fueling Bitcoin’s rally to nearly $124,000.

If the current reading remains elevated for multiple sessions, it could signal the start of a strong accumulation phase. Such conditions often precede sustained uptrends as whales and institutions absorb supply, reducing the amount of Bitcoin available on exchanges. However, the index also carries risk signals. A sharp rise followed by a rapid decline, as appears to be unfolding now, may suggest speculative behavior or forced liquidations. This dynamic typically leads to a period of cooling, marked by sideways consolidation or even short-term corrections.

The broader context complicates the picture. In recent months, the index reached record highs—above +6—only to collapse back toward neutral and even negative territory. This stark contrast reveals that while price remains strong, underlying demand momentum may be weakening. If exchange withdrawals slow or supply increases, the scarcity effect could fade.

With the Federal Reserve’s decision on interest rates just ahead, the question remains whether this spike reflects true accumulation or another fleeting burst of speculative activity. The next few days will provide clarity.

Bitcoin Price Analysis: Testing Mid-Range Levels

Bitcoin’s 3-day chart shows the price consolidating around $115,479, following a recovery from early September’s dip near $110,000. The structure highlights a mid-range battle, as BTC trades between the 200-day SMA near $82,600 and resistance at $123,217, the level that capped the July rally.

The 50-day SMA at $109,580 is acting as dynamic support, preventing deeper retracement despite repeated tests. Meanwhile, the 100-day SMA at $101,291 remains comfortably below the current price, reflecting an overall bullish medium-term structure. BTC has consistently defended higher lows since April, suggesting accumulation remains present.

However, upside momentum appears capped, with sellers stepping in near $116,000–$117,000. A decisive breakout above $123,217 would likely trigger a push toward uncharted territory, potentially targeting $130,000+. On the other hand, failure to maintain support above $110,000 could open the door to deeper retracements, with $105,000 emerging as the first major downside target.

The chart reflects a market at a turning point: steady accumulation is supporting the price, yet resistance remains strong. With the Fed’s interest rate decision approaching, volatility is expected to rise. Bitcoin’s ability to either break past $123K or hold the $110K floor will define the next trend.

A New PlayStation Presentation, Possibly A State Of Play, Is Coming Next Week – Report

Sony is reportedly prepping a new PlayStation event for next week, according to reliable leaker NateTheHate2. However, it’s not clarified whether this could be a State of Play or Showcase, though there hasn’t been a version of the latter in over two years at this point.

The last two PlayStation State of Play events have each focused on a single game. The July presentation put the spotlight on first-party exclusive Ghost of Yotei, while earlier this month, Sony showed off the James Bond title 007: First Light from Hitman developer IO Interactive. If this recent report pans out, that would mean two major PlayStation events in one month. At the start of September, NateTheHate2 nailed when the latest Nintendo Direct would happen.

Now Playing: Marvel’s Wolverine | PlayStation Showcase 2021

One game that could be featured at the possible PlayStation event next week is Marvel’s Wolverine from Insomniac Games. On top of past rumblings about its appearance, a new report from MP1st states that Marvel’s Wolverine is slated to arrive in 2026. The game was first announced in 2021.

Other prospects for popping up include Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet from Naughty Dog, Saros from Returnal developer Housemarque, or any number of third-party titles. So far this year, Sony has held five different PlayStation State of Play events. Keep in mind the company hasn’t officially announced anything yet.

Inevitably, someone has made a cooperative take on A Game About Digging a Hole, where you play as burly shirtless men whose hands swell up when they flip each other off

As someone who grew up when true cooperative games were vanishingly rare, the sheer number of games that allow you to play with pals at your side these days is astonishing. Every other game seems to support larking around for up to four people. And in the increasingly unlikely event that a game doesn’t have co-op to begin with, chances are someone will make a version of it that does.

Such is the case with Keep Digging, which lifts the premise of DoubleBee’s surprise hit A Game About Digging A Hole, er, wholesale, opens up its shovelling shenanigans for up to eight players, then rests its hard hat over its eyes for a wee nap while the cash rolls in.

Like DoubleBee’s burrowing sim, Keep Digging sees players break ground using basic tools like spades and pickaxes, which they use to unearth valuable ores and treasures. These can be sold to purchase more advanced equipment like dynamite, wire rope, and batteries. I presume the latter are used to power some other excavation device, but the Steam page just reads “batteries” so it isn’t clear. Anyway, your descent also takes you through various biomes, such as an abandoned mine filled with dinosaur fossils, a ruined temple, and some kind of subterranean cathedral.

Aside from the co-op functionality, Keep Digging has a few other ideas of its own. While the game sees you play as burly white blokes by default, you can adjust their body shape, customise their appearance with various apparel (including shirts!). The Steam page also shows a clip of a chimpanzee getting in on the action, although it isn’t clear if this is an alternative character model or an AI NPC.

Yes, Keep Digging supports NPC companions for when human players aren’t around, Moreover, those AI miners will “continue mining autonomously when players are offline”, just in case you can’t be bothered to play the game yourself. Oh, and it has an emote for flipping other players off. This causes your character’s hand to swell up to twice its normal size, which A) seems like something a doctor should know about and B) is a feature every other game should have.

Like many of these co-op experiences (and arguably A Game About Digging A Hole too), Keep Digging does not appear to have much nutritional value. Then again, it’s also dirt cheap, selling at $5 (£4.29) RRP and currently running a 10% launch discount. So if you want to dig a massive hole with your mates, but don’t want to ruin the lawn, Keep Digging is the game for you. At least until another cooperative digging sim tunnels into Steam, which at the current rate of iteration will probably be next week.

Borderlands 4 Sets Record, But PC Players Are Struggling To Play

Borderlands 4 is out now on PC via Steam and the Epic Store. And the looter shooter sequel is already the biggest Borderlands launch on Steam, with over 200,000 concurrent players just a few hours after its release. But reviews on Steam aren’t great, as many players are struggling to even play the co-op FPS.

On September 11, Borderlands 4 launched on PC. The long-awaited sequel to Gearbox’s Borderlands 3 is a bigger, better, and wilder experience than the previous game, featuring a host of smart changes and additions to the classic looting-shooting formula. However, that’s only the case if you can actually play the game and enjoy it. And on PC, players are reporting lots of performance issues, even on hardware that Gearbox listed as meeting the needed specs.

As of 4:30 pm EST on Steam, Borderlands 4 has about 2,000 reviews that are perfectly divided between negative and positive, giving the game a 50 percent mixed status. That’s no good! Scrolling through reviews, the biggest complaints seem to be not about the content of the game, but about how poorly it performs on various hardware setups. Players are also complaining about stuttering and hitching, or being forced to use DLSS to play the game at a stable framerate. Others can’t even boot the game up, reporting crashes before they even get into the action.

Of course, there are also plenty of reviews from people saying they had no issues at all and claiming that people complaining need to upgrade their PCs. This is the internet, so of course it devolved into a war with various sides and factions.

In the reviews on Steam, the most popular culprits people are blaming for the bad performance include Unreal Engine 5 and DRM protection software Denuvo. Over the last year or so, Unreal Engine 5 has become a target online as players believe the engine isn’t well-suited to big games and is hard to optimize. The complaints have gotten so loud online that Epic CEO Tim Sweeney even stepped in recently to defend the engine and lay the blame on devs who aren’t focused on optimization early enough in the cycle.

My experience playing Borderlands 4 on PC

I’ve been playing Borderlands 4 on PC for the last week, and my experience has been up and down. When I first got the game, I was playing on an RTX 3070 and struggled to run it at 1080p at 60FPS. I upgraded my rig to an RTX 5070 (something I had been planning to do for a few months now), and Borderlands 4 ran much better. However, I still found that I needed to run the game with DLSS on and frame gen to reach 120 FPS at 1080 with some settings kicked down to medium.  Considering the specs in the machine, I was surprised by how power hungry the game is, and I’ll admit that I continue to be disappointed with Unreal Engine 5 games.

That said, ever since I found some settings that worked and downloaded the latest drivers, which weren’t available when I first got access to the game, I’ve been having a great time playing the game on PC. It mostly locks to 120 with my current settings and setup, and it feels great. I should also point out, though, that there’s been some chatter indicating that the day-one patch for the game, which arrived shortly before launch, may have caused problems that weren’t present when critics and content creators were playing it pre-release. In my quick tests, I’ve found the most recent patch, the one people are playing with on Steam right now, seems to bring with it some issues that weren’t present before the day-one patch. But I need to play more to really see if things are broken.

I hope Gearbox issues a patch on PC soon to help improve things a bit. Or at the very least, get rid of Denuvo ASAP.

Its grief-stricken creator must stop the carnage before the machine evolves into the embodiment of AI gone bad.”

Harness

Hot on the heels of upcoming sports-horror movie, Him, Variety has word that Fear Street trilogy director Leigh Janiak is attached to Harness, “a thriller set in a gruesome sect” of competitive horse track racers. The story involves “a wannabe female jockey and her trainer brother-in-law” who “become entangled in an illicit relationship full of blood, sweat, and sex that pushes the limits of their bodies and the law.”

Scary Movie 6

During a recent interview with Comic Book, Marlon Wayans listed off some of the movies Scary Movie 6 plans to parody.

I mean, you know, I’m just a fan of the whole genre, man. I Know What You Did Last Summer may have something in there. I think the Scream franchise is always a great one. I think Heretic was a wonderful film. Longlegs. Get Out. Nope. There are just so many great horror films to pull from that we plan on having a field day. Sinners.

My dream project is to do a limited series of Silence of the Lambs with Mads and Zendaya as Clarice Starling. If I could put anything out into the universe, I would put that into the universe.

It’s complicated now because Martha De Laurentiis died and she had a certain section of the rights, and now, Thomas Harris is trying to get the rights all under one umbrella. And I think that’s going to take a couple of years of straightening out. But the entire cast wants to come back: Mads, Hugh, Lawrence, Katie, Caroline – like everybody’s in. It’s just a matter of: Will the rights be able to be figured out again?

During his recent appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, Fred Armisen confirmed Netflix is moving forward with an Uncle Fester spinoff series.

SushiSwap price has broken out of a descending triangle pattern that had kept it in a downtrend since mid-July.

According to data from crypto.news, Sushi (SUSHI) was trading at $0.79 up 2% in the past 24 hours and 6.3% in the past 7 days. Its market cap stood at $153 million as of press time.

Despite its weekly gains, the token remains 62% below its July high, since when bears have brought the token down to $0.70 multiple times.

A few catalysts have emerged that could support further upside for SUSHI.

First, SushiSwap has recently gone live on HyperEVM. This enables swapping HyperEVM assets via its aggregator interface, marking a deeper integration with the Hyperliquid ecosystem. 

Such a move positions SUSHI at the center of a growing multi-chain liquidity network and expands its use case across more than 40 supported chains.

Another factor that could support its potential is the strong earnings recorded in Q3 of this year. Notably, earnings currently stand at $2.77 million, significantly higher than the approximately $200,000 reported in the previous quarter. A sharp increase in earnings indicates that DeFi protocols built on SushiSwap are being used more actively and that revenue efficiency has improved, a factor that could boost investor sentiment toward the token and, in turn, drive further interest.

On the daily chart, SUSHI price had formed a multi-month descending triangle pattern, a technical setup typically formed by a series of lower highs converging toward a horizontal support level, indicating sustained bearish pressure.

It has invalidated the pattern today, a sign that bears are losing control and marking a bullish reversal in technical analysis. This shift in trend is further supported by a golden cross that remains in play, after the 50-day simple moving average crossed above the 200-day SMA. The last time such a crossover occurred, SUSHI rallied by as much as 120%.

Based on these bullish technicals, the path of least resistance points to a target of $1.16, a level calculated by measuring the height of the descending triangle and projecting it upward from the breakout point. This target remains nearly 47% above the current price as of press time.

However, the setup would be invalidated if SUSHI loses the $0.75 psychological support, which would open the path to further losses down to $0.70, the level marked by its 200-day moving average.

Cillian Murphy Is Flattered Everyone Thought He Would Play an Emaciated Zombie in ’28 Years Later’

As soon as the teaser trailer for 28 Years Later dropped, pretty much everyone and their mom assumed the skinny zombie seen struggling through flowers looked uncannily like Cillian Murphy’s Jim, the franchise’s original main character from director Danny Boyle and Alex Garland‘s 2002 28 Days Later. The internet sleuths swiftly discovered the likeness was pure serendipity, but the Oscar-winning actor now says he was touched that fans had assumed the emaciated undead wanderer was him.

In an interview with The Observer, Murphy said that, depsite being terminally offline himself, his son had made sure that he saw the skinny zombie everyone had assumed marked Jim’s grim return to the franchise.

“That’s great people think I look like a zombie cadaver,” Murphy said, dryly, as The Observer notes. “It’s very flattering.”

Shortly after Sony Pictures debunked the rumor that the zombie was Murphy, model and actor Angus Neill revealed that he was the Murphy look-alike under all the makeup. According to The Guardian, Neill was “talent spotted by Bolye, who was much struck by his distinctive looks.” Those looks are that Neill is tall and gaunt with sharp cheekbones—all good things to have for cinematic purposes.

“Danny told me he’d always had me in mind for the role,” Neill told The Guardian. “So we met up, hit it off, and I agreed to take part … On set he has an extraordinary ability to hypnotize you, and working with him on the film was a very, very intense experience.”

But hey, just because Murphy wasn’t the zombie everyone thought he was, he is still set to come back to the franchise as bicycle courier Jim in 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, which also stars Ralph Fiennes and Jack O’Connell. Though Murphy has cautioned fans to temper their expectations for his part in the film, telling The Observer, he’s “only in it for a little bit” at the end of the movie. Still, Murphy did tease that his return is all in service of setting up an even bigger role in a future film.

“Everyone’s got to go and see the second one,” Murphy said. “I’m sure they will—it’s really, really good.”

In io9’s review for 28 Years Later, we said it was an incredibly tense, thoroughly fascinating zombie tale, writing, “While the ending isn’t as strong as the rest of the film, thankfully, this is the first film of a proposed trilogy, the second of which is out in January. We can’t wait to go back. There’s still so, so much to chew on.”

In the meantime, folks can look forward to streaming 28 Years Later when it arrives on Netflix on September 20. The sequel, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, hits theaters January 16, 2026.

NBA 2K26 Review: a basketball sim with a starring role for attacking play

When five-time NBA champion Dennis Rodman was interviewed during Netflix’s Last Dance documentary, he explained how he’d have friends shoot hoops from all angles well into the morning just to more accurately track rebounds and work out where he needed to be to scoop up possession.

Why do I bring that up when talking about basketball game NBA 2K26? Because, as much as rebounds are less show-stopping than acrobatic dunks, they’re the basis on which successful teams build attacks, and every single late-night session predicting angles and flight paths led to Rodman becoming an NBA legend.

While NBA 2K26 may not hit those heights (at least not yet), what’s here plasters over some of the cracks in last year’s game to offer the best digital basketball experience in years.

No More Bricks

I enjoyed my time with NBA 2K25, but I know I’m in the minority for that. A big reason that the community found itself divided by last year’s game was 2K’s commitment to revamping a core part of the experience, which we’ve been used to over the last decade and change: the shot meter.

While last year put an awful lot of emphasis on the ever-present danger of shooting a brick and fluffing your lines, this year it’s much more forgiving. It’s not quite a walkback to earlier games, but it feels like Visual Concepts has done an awful lot to rework the act of shooting the basketball, or driving to the rim, this time around.

You’ll still throw some absolute honkers if you’re not careful, but you always feel more in control, whereas last year things felt a little too random.

Last year, it took a major shine off of the otherwise stellar animation system that did a better job of making players feel like they were moving more realistically, and in vastly improving offense this year, the whole game feels like it’s faster. It’s not quite arcadey, but it’s a more exciting sim than it’s been in years.

Now, you’re not missing easy layups or having to spam dribbling moves to find a tiny opening, because all players feel much more capable of scoring points from anywhere, and player locomotion feels just a little slicker.

That also ties into the long-running player builds system. Last year, unless you invested a ton of stat points into your player (or real currency), you’d find yourself missing simple shots. This time around, the new ‘MP’ (your in-game avatar in MyPlayer) feels much more like the talented prospect they’re supposed to be at the start of the story.

Rags to Riches (Again)

That brings us nicely to MyPlayer, the mode from which many of NBA 2K26’s others flow. Let’s start with the good: Visual Concepts’ commitment to having a single, central created player remains something I wish rivals would adopt.

It’s awesome to be able to build up your version of MP in one mode before taking them online, and while the story here is pretty predictable, it remains a fun way to build your player’s legend from high school to the NBA.

Cutscenes look better, although they naturally pale in comparison to the on-court action, but what’s here is more of the same.

There’s a downside to that, too, and it’s VC. You’ll earn currency through playing, but as with any NBA 2K instalment, you can spend plenty of real cash to grow your player quickly and into one of the in-game archetypes.

My Small Forward has enjoyed a meteoric rise (at least according to the MyPlayer storyline), but he’s still nowhere near as impressive as anyone who’s thrown their currency of choice at the game.

Elsewhere, MyGM remains one of my favorite ways to play despite not having any major improvements this year after its re-emergence in 2K25. There are fresh long-term goals called Offseason Scenarios, and they feature real-world examples like a Bulls rebuild or weighing up how to follow up the Warriors’ Steph Curry era.

Jettisoning the controversial shooting meter from last year, NBA 2K26 feels like a game full of subtle changes that make scoring points more fun than ever, whether you’re in the paint or shooting from distance.

They’re not the kind of things that you’ll necessarily be entirely drawn into, but they’re a neat addition that gives you something to strive for. Still, for a longstanding NBA fan, the continued support for MyNBA Eras remains something that puts rivals to shame. You can now copy a MyPlayer into a classic era of the NBA, letting you rub shoulders with Larry Bird or Michael Jordan.

Speaking of dream scenarios, MyTeam is back and, as always, it’s very easy to throw VC points at pack openings. I do appreciate that the mode is pretty rewarding when it comes to offline play. I’m decent at 2K, but the game’s fervent community could slap me six ways to Sunday, so it’s nice to be in control of what I play if I want to push for better players for my squad.

This year sees the debut of the WNBA in the mode, which is a huge move that’s been a long time coming. EA FC has seen plenty of success by adding the women’s game into Ultimate Team, but the nature of basketball as a sport where height makes a big difference means that it’s not uncommon for one player to absolutely tower over another.

It perhaps wouldn’t be a huge issue if you could rotate your squad to place smaller, faster players in more attacking roles rather than expecting them to stop a 7ft 7 juggernaut, but that’s at odds with having players with roles and positions assigned to them when they’re fresh out of packs.

Back to the city

Look, I’ll be honest: I’ve never really enjoyed The City. The mode has always felt like a good idea that’s had too much executive input, designed to draw players in to drop their VC to build their player and buy clothing and shoes.

Last year took the smart step of finally shrinking the playspace, and NBA 2K26 goes one step further with interconnected areas that make it much easier to get to where you need to be.

Perhaps the best thing I can say about The City is that performance is vastly improved. Last year’s game got a PS5 Pro update, but it always felt laggy on Sony’s newest system. This year, it’s still not as responsive as playing on the court, but it’s noticeably easier to navigate.

That brings us, finally, to NBA 2K26’s presentation. Put simply, this is the best-looking sports game around, at least on PS5 Pro. When Visual Concepts boasted about being able to see the pores on players’ faces ahead of launch, I scoffed. As it turns out, you really can see the pores on player faces, as well as stitching on shoes, and those all-important reflective surfaces like the shiny court.

Accessibility

NBA 2K26 has a few accessibility features. You can adjust shot timing windows and visual cues, while there are difficulty settings, too. Vibration and DualSense triggers can be tweaked, too.

Perhaps most impressively is that the shot meter, which can be tricky to spot in the chaos of an ongoing match, can be customized with a variety of options. It’s not strictly there for accessibility purposes, but that customization could be a huge boon for those who need extra visual clarity.

How I reviewed NBA 2K26

Having reviewed multiple NBA titles across different platforms in recent years, I played this one on my PS5 Pro, with the standard DualSense wireless controller, the Astro A50 X headset, and on a Sky Glass TV.

I’ve most recently played NBA 2K25 in the last couple of months, so I have a good grasp of what’s changed. I built up a decent starting line-up in MyTeam during this current review period and spent some time working my way through the ranks in MyTeam.

I also explored The City, was destroyed by other players in pick-up games, and began the journey to take the Chicago Bulls back to a new era of dominance.

Pocket Scion is a synth you play with plants

A few years ago, artist Modern Biology became a viral sensation when he posted videos of himself controlling a modular synth with mushrooms on TikTok. Pocket Scion gives anyone similar capabilities, but without having to spend thousands of dollars on a Eurorack rig – and in a much more portable package.

A core part of Modern Biology’s setup is a module called Scion from Glasgow-based Instruo. Scion turns biofeedback, whether that’s from houseplants or your own skin, into CV (control voltage) for controlling other synth modules in a larger setup. Touching two sensors to your hand or a mushroom completes a circuit, and then electrical fluctuations in that circuit can be used to trigger different notes, or change the cutoff on a filter, for instance.

A little over a year ago, he approached Instruo about building something new. The fruit of that collaboration is the Pocket Scion, an affordable self-contained instrument that can turn small electrical changes from living organisms into MIDI data and create soundscapes using one of the four built-in sound engines.

The Pocket Scion has a number of advanced capabilities too, including MIDI out for controlling external instruments. There’s also a companion app for Windows, macOS, and Linux that exposes sound design tools for creating your own synth patches, and can send data over Open Sound Control (OSC), which gives it control over a ton of audio and video programs like Max/MSP, Pure Data, and Unreal Engine for creating visualization or complex reactive art installations. It’s more powerful than you’d expect given its $149 price.

The initial run of Pocket Scions sold out almost immediately. But you can place a preorder for when the next batch ships “early next week,” according to retailer Control Voltage.
