Momentum Shift Amid Plasma (XPL) Integration

by admin October 3, 2025

The native token of oracle network Chainlink LINK$22.62 pulled back slightly on Friday, establishing a higher low, posting a 6.7% gain this week. The price action has been supported by a string of news headlines about institutions and protocols tapping Chainlink’s services.

Plasma (XPL) said on Friday it has joined Chainlink Scale, adopting Chainlink’s oracle services for its stablecoin payments-focused blockchain. The network has integrated Chainlink’s Cross-chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), Data Streams and Data Feeds services, supporting developers to build stablecoin use cases on Plasma.

“By adopting the Chainlink standard and joining the Chainlink Scale program, Plasma is demonstrating how new layer-1 networks can launch with enterprise-grade stablecoin infrastructure from day one,” said Johann Eid, chief business officer at Chainlink Labs, the development organization behind Chainlink.

The news follows Swiss bank UBS starting a pilot with Chainlink earlier this week, integrating the CCIP protocol with SWIFT’s messaging system for tokenized fund operations.

Meanwhile, the Chainlink Reserve, a facility that purchases tokens on the open market using income from protocol integrations and services, bought another 46,441 LINK on Thursday, bringing total holdings over 417,000 tokens, worth $9.5 million.

Technical indicators signal bullish momentum is returning for LINK, establishing a clear higher low but facing resistance at the $23 level, CoinDesk Data’s research model suggested.

  • LINK changed hands within a $0.96 range between $22.13 and $23.09, representing a 4.27% fluctuation during the 24-hour period.
  • Established critical support at $22.13 with substantial buying interest at an elevated volume of 1,409,489 units, above the daily average of 1,178,000.
  • The token carved out a clear higher low pattern, suggesting renewed upward momentum towards the $23.10 resistance zone.

Plasma Partners With Chainlink to Power Stablecoin Infrastructure

by admin October 3, 2025

Plasma, a newly launched layer 1 blockchain built specifically for stablecoins, has announced a partnership with Chainlink to integrate decentralized oracle services into its network. The collaboration will enable Plasma to provide accurate and high-performance data feeds for stablecoin transactions.

Stablecoin rails for global money movement require accurate, high performance data feeds.

We are partnering with @Chainlink to provide oracle services on Plasma so builders can use digital dollars to create life-changing financial applications for those who need it most. https://t.co/FSt7zHSTwZ

— Plasma (@Plasma) October 3, 2025

Following this partnership, Plasma has joined the Chainlink SCALE program, giving developers access to Chainlink Data Feeds and the Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP). These integrations provide tamper-resistant pricing, real-time payment data, and secure cross-chain messaging to more than 60 other blockchains. Builders on the Plasma network will now be able to create a digital dollar application aimed at delivering accessible and secure financial services.

According to Chainlink, Plasma surpassed $5.5 billion in stablecoin supply just one week after its launch, highlighting rapid demand for stablecoin-focused blockchains.

Aave live at launch

Highlighting the ecosystem push, Aave, the largest liquidity protocol, went live on Plasma at launch. Backed by Chainlink’s infrastructure, Aave brings deep stablecoin liquidity into the Plasma network and expands its reach to a new class of builders and users.

Paul Faecks, founder and CEO of Plasma, said, “Stablecoins are one of the most important use cases in crypto. They give everyone, everywhere permissionless access to core financial services, including saving, spending, and earning. Plasma is building the infrastructure for this global financial system, and we are thrilled to join Chainlink Scale and adopt the Chainlink data and interoperability standards. With Chainlink, Plasma can scale our onchain ecosystem, strengthen our stablecoin rails, and bring mainstream adoption closer to reality.”

Stani Kulechov, Founder and CEO of Aave Labs, said, “Stablecoins are foundational to DeFi’s growth, and Aave secures over 70% of all stablecoins across DeFi lending. Bringing that deep liquidity to Plasma from day one—alongside Chainlink’s leading oracle infrastructure—extends it to a high-throughput network and a new community of builders. Together we unlock instant, low-cost stablecoin movement and secure cross-chain connectivity for real-time payments and next-generation onchain finance.”

Addressing market concerns

The announcement follows a turbulent week for XPL. On October 2, 2025, Plasma Labs issued a statement to counter speculation after its token came under heavy selling pressure. The team clarified that no member or inventor has sold tokens. Plasma stressed that all XPL allocations remain locked for three years with a one-year cliff.

Co-founder Paul added that while some employees previously worked at Blur and Blast, others came from global firms like Google, Meta, Goldman Sachs, and Temasek. Plasma also denied rumors of any ties to market maker Wintermute, confirming it has never contacted them.

Regulatory Backdrop

Plasma’s push comes against a shifting backdrop. In Washington, lawmakers recently passed the Genius Act, the first federal framework for stablecoins. The law requires issuers to be licensed, hold reserves entirely in cash or treasuries, and publish regular audits. It also bans yield payments directly from issuers, as it aims to give the sector long-awaited legal clarity.

Projects like Plasma, which emphasizes transparency and dependable stablecoin rails, may benefit from the legislation if its ecosystem aligns with these standards. Partnerships with established oracle providers like Chainlink are likely to become crucial in meeting expectations for accuracy, security, and compliance readiness.

Plasma Confirms XPL Lock, Denies Wintermute Link

by admin October 2, 2025

Plasma Labs issued a statement to counter speculation after its native XPL token faced heavy selling pressure in recent days. On Thursday, October 2, 2025, the company clarified that no team members or investors have sold tokens. Instead, all XPL allocations remain locked for three years with a one-year cliff. The firm also denied any ties with Wintermute, a leading market maker, stressing it has never contracted with them.

We’ve seen a number of rumors circulating since the launch of XPL and want to set the record straight.

1/ No team members have sold any XPL. All investor and team XPL is locked for 3 years with a 1 year cliff.

2/ Of our team of ~50, three spent time at Blur or Blast. Our team…

— Paul (@pauliepunt) October 1, 2025

The statement came after rumors linked Plasma’s core team to prior ventures and questioned token distribution. “No team members have sold any XPL. All investors and team XPL is locked for 3 years with a 1-year cliff,” said Paul, a Plasma co-founder. He further clarified that while some employees previously worked at Blur and Blast, others hail from Google, Facebook, Goldman Sachs, and Temasek.

Market Action and Chart Signals

XPL has experienced sharp volatility, with its price down more than 40% since its peak. Analyst Luke Martin noted on X that the $0.85 level is now crucial. The TradingView chart show the price moving down in a steady pattern, making lower highs and lower lows. But at $0.85, buyers stepped in strongly, pushing the price back up. This bounce hinted that people see value at that level and are willing to defend it.

This is the first $XPL setup since the selloff started that looks appealing for a bounce.

Combined with the team announcing they sold 0 tokens and not working with winternuke.

Would not be surprised to see this trading above $1.2 soon.

Second target: trillions pic.twitter.com/7TilTfsmIT

— Luke Martin (@VentureCoinist) October 1, 2025

Moreover, historical levels remain important. Resistance lies around $1.01, which must be reclaimed to shift momentum. Until then, the market could remain range-bound. “This is the first $XPL setup since the selloff started that looks appealing for a bounce,” Martin stated. He added that the team’s assurance of zero token sales strengthens sentiment.

Machi Big Brother’s $11M Loss

Celebrity trader Jeffrey “Machi Big Brother” Huang has taken heavy losses on Hyperliquid. Just two weeks ago, his 5x leveraged XPL long position showed $44 million in profit.

Today, according to Hyperdash data, it sits at an unrealized $10.9 million loss, with liquidation looming at $0.4555. Besides this, Huang holds a 15x Ether long worth $1.2 million, which carries more than $500,000 in unrealized profit.

XPL faces a decisive moment at the $0.85 level. Plasma’s clarity on token locks could restore trust, but volatility remains a major risk.

‘Trillions’ Meme Coin Surges to $60 Million Market Cap on Stablecoin Network Plasma

by admin September 29, 2025

In brief

  • Stablecoin network Plasma has meme coins now after entering “mainnet beta” last week.
  • The Trillions token hit a $60 million market cap on Sunday, before falling sharply.
  • It references a meme at the foundation of the Plasma thesis, predicting the total stablecoin market cap to be in the trillions of dollars.

A meme coin deployed on the Plasma stablecoin network peaked at a $60 million market capitalization on Sunday. It follows Plasma hitting “mainnet beta” last week, attracting $5.5 billion in total value locked, and its XPL token soaring to a $2.3 billion market cap.

The Trillions token is based on a meme at the core of the Plasma thesis, with the project referencing it as early as December 2024. However, it wasn’t until February 2025 that the meme took off both internally and externally, a Plasma representative told Decrypt before the network hit mainnet.

White House AI and Crypto Czar David Sacks said that stablecoins could create “trillions of dollars of demand for U.S. treasuries,” due to tokens often purchasing treasuries for their reserves. Plasma simply reposted this clip in February saying “trillions,” and it went viral despite the network having a small following at the time. A meme was born.

Plasma is a layer-1 network that’s optimized for stablecoin transactions, such as gasless USDT transfers. However, it is still a permissionless blockchain, meaning that anyone can build on top of it. And, with its “mainnet beta” launch being an apparent success, crypto degens have flocked to the stablecoin network to trade meme coins.

And it’s not only the Trillions token that has hit a market cap in the millions: other Plasma meme coins like Bankless, dog-themed coin Luna, and a Pepe clone have also soared. It appears that most of these coins are being created on the multi-chain launchpad, DyorSwap.

Despite the meme coin buzz, Plasma declined to comment as the project does not endorse meme coins on the chain. However, a Plasma representative previously explained to Decrypt how the trillions meme originated and evolved.

Following Sacks saying “trillions” and the Plasma post going viral, the company decided to embrace the meme. It became a way for Plasma employees to sign off social media posts and hype each other up—akin to the Milady cult signing off posts with “Milady.”

The trillions meme later evolved to also include “pre-trillions,” a Plasma representative previously explained, as a nod to the pre-rich meme that had taken over the crypto community.

When Plasma entered mainnet beta last week, users celebrating their XPL airdrop on social media adopted the “trillions” kicker. That same day, the Trillions meme coin was created, bubbling below a $10 million market cap before exploding to $60 million on Sunday. It has since plunged to an $18 million market cap, according to DEX Screener.

Such a market cap is notable in the current meme coin landscape, with activity in the Solana trenches hitting a six-month low. It comes as crypto traders look to highly leveraged perp futures bets to feed their taste for degenerate trades.

Jokes aside, Plasma believes that the stablecoin industry will grow to be worth trillions of dollars, and hopes to host a sizable chunk of that. Less than a week after its debut, per DefiLlama, Plasma is the fifth-largest network for stablecoins ahead of the likes of Hyperliquid, Aptos, and Base.

At the time of writing, according to DefiLlama, the total stablecoin market cap is $297 billion, meaning a 236% increase is needed for a trillion-dollar valuation to be achieved.

Plasma Unveils First Stablecoin-Native Neobank, Targeting Emerging Markets

by admin September 23, 2025

Plasma has launched Plasma One, the first neobank built entirely around stablecoins, aiming to make saving, spending, and earning in digital dollars seamless, the company said in a press release Monday.

The platform is designed to fix what the company calls a broken user experience for stablecoin holders, who often face clunky interfaces, limited local options, and friction when converting to cash.

Stablecoins are cryptocurrencies whose value is tied to another asset, such as the U.S. dollar or gold. They play a major role in cryptocurrency markets, providing a payment infrastructure, and are also used to transfer money internationally.

“The dollar is the product, and most of the world is desperate to access it,” said Plasma CEO Paul Faecks.

“Plasma One is our answer to the distribution problem as it puts us directly in the hands of people who face financial exclusion, delivering permissionless access to saving, spending, earning, and sending digital dollars,” Faecks added.

Plasma One offers card payments with rewards, zero-fee USDT transfers, and fast onboarding, all built on Plasma’s own blockchain and payments stack.

The company is focusing on emerging markets where dollar access is most critical, using local teams and peer-to-peer cash networks to drive adoption.

The rollout comes ahead of Plasma’s mainnet beta launch on Sept. 25, with access set to expand in stages.

Plasma to Launch Stablecoin-Native Neobank After This Month’s ‘Mainnet Beta’

by admin September 22, 2025

In brief

  • Plasma One will allow users to load the card with stablecoins and pay from their balance with a physical or virtual card.
  • The new neobank is set to roll out after Plasma’s stablecoin-optimized layer-1 blockchain hits “mainnet beta” on September 25.
  • Its card promises to offer 4% cashback on spending, over 10% yield on stablecoin balances, and coverage in more than 150 countries.

Plasma is preparing to launch its own neobank, Plasma One, sometime after its stablecoin blockchain hits mainnet later this month. Its card claims it will offer 4% cash back on spending, an over 10% yield on balances, and international coverage.

Users of Plasma One will be able to load their card with the stablecoins of their choice—starting with USDT and slowly expanding—and then pay directly from this balance via the physical or virtual card. The prepaid credit card is set to use the Plasma blockchain as its payment rails and will be issued by Rain—the company behind the Avalanche Card and others.

“Stablecoins provide a fundamental, permissionless way to hold and move dollars anywhere,” Paul Faecks, CEO of Plasma, said in a release shared with Decrypt. “Plasma One is our answer to the distribution problem, as it puts us directly in the hands of people who face financial exclusion, delivering permissionless access to saving, spending, earning, and sending digital dollars.”

Last week, it was announced that the stablecoin-centric blockchain will hit “mainnet beta” on September 25. Afterwards, Plasma will prepare to roll out its neobank in multiple stages. Users can now sign up for the waitlist on the Plasma website.

What is Plasma?

Plasma is a stablecoin project primarily known for building a layer-1 blockchain with optimizations tailor-made for stablecoin users. It caused a stir earlier this year by attracting $1 billion in pre-deposits ahead of its XPL initial coin offering—which will not be a stablecoin.

The company has also raised $24 million across its seed and Series A funding rounds in February, with support from Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino, PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel, and more. Ardoino and Thiel also serve as advisors to the project.

Plasma One promises to offer zero fees on USDT transfers—an offering the Plasma blockchain is also seeking to deliver. It also claims that users will be able to claim over 10% yield on their stablecoin balances with no lockup period required. A Plasma representative told Decrypt that the yield will be generated from Plasma’s DeFi ecosystem.

For context, Plasma is currently offering a 2% yield on USDT holdings on Binance. It was in high demand on its August launch, quickly attracting $1 billion worth of lock-ups. It’s worth noting, of course, that a 10% yield is a significant step up from this offering.

The Plasma team is eyeing September 25 for its mainnet beta release, and then it’ll be full steam ahead with the launch of its very own neobank.

Crypto Lender Maple Expands to Tether-Backed Plasma

by admin September 16, 2025

Cryptocurrency lending platform Maple Finance has deployed syrupUSDT on Plasma, a payments-focused blockchain backed by Tether, in its first major move to expand the product beyond Ethereum.

Starting tomorrow, users will be able to deposit the token into a Midas-hosted vault that offers yield while distributing rewards tied to Plasma’s upcoming mainnet launch and token generation event. Future integrations with decentralized finance protocols on Plasma are planned as the network builds out.

“This launch underscores our excitement over Plasma and its importance as a payments ecosystem,” Maple CEO Sid Powell said in a statement. He added that distributing yield-bearing dollar products across chains is central to Maple’s push to grow liquidity and hit $5 billion in assets under management by the end of 2025.

Plasma is designed to process transactions quickly while focusing on USDT as its base asset. For Maple, the chain’s infrastructure could provide a natural fit for products like syrupUSDT, which package stablecoins into vaults that generate returns.

The launch continues a year of rapid growth for Maple, which has already expanded to Solana and Arbitrum. Its syrupUSDC recently crossed $1 billion in supply, underscoring the demand for tokenized yield products across blockchain ecosystems.

Crypto Trader Banks $250M on Trump-Linked WLFI Token After $38M Plasma Win

by admin September 2, 2025

A trader who made $38 million trading last week’s plasma (XPL) volatility secured another heft payday on Monday, profiting $250 million on the release world liberty financial (WLFI), a decentralized finance (DeFi) token linked to U.S. president Donald Trump’s family.

Etherscan data shows that the wallet in question, belonging to a trader known on derivatives platform HyperLiquid and X as Techno Revenant, invested $15 million in the WLFI token sale last year before being distributed 1% of the total supply on Monday, worth around $250 million.

The nine-digit score comes after the trader made $38 million on HyperLiquid last week, trading XPL as it spiked and wiped out $130 million in open interest on the futures market.

XPL/USD (TradingView)

WLFI began trading on Monday, spiking to 40 cents before retreating to 25 cents in a rollercoaster session that experienced more than $5 billion in trading volume.

While Techno Revenant calmly collected a $250 million payday, others were not as lucky as hackers ran a targeted phishing campaign against WLFI token holders.

Security experts labeled it a “classic EIP-7702 phishing exploit” as hackers exploited a loophole tied to Ethereum’s recent Pectra upgrade.
