The latest Anker Prime charging devices are already 20 percent off

by admin October 3, 2025

Anker has a bunch of new Prime charging devices available and some of them are already getting solid discounts. The lineup includes a laptop-compatible Prime Power Bank (26,250mAh, 300W). The device’s Amazon page currently features a clippable coupon that will take $46 off the price, reducing it by 20 percent. That means you’ll be able to snap this powerbank up for $184.

This portable charger delivers a whopping 300W of total output between its two USB-C ports and single USB-A port. Anker says that, thanks to its 140W output (and if you’re using a 5A cable), you can top up the battery of an M4 Pro MacBook Pro to 50 percent in 27 minutes and an iPhone 17 Pro Max to 50 percent in 22 minutes. You can keep tabs on what’s happening on each port using the display.

Anker

Anker’s new powerbank can deliver total charging output of 300W, and it’s 20 percent off when you apply a clippable coupon.

$184 at Amazon

This is also the first Anker power bank that supports up to 250W of input recharging by using both USB-C ports simultaneously. This faster charging can top up the powerbank’s own battery to 50 percent in just 13 minutes, according to Anker.

This model has a capacity of 26,250mAh (99.75Wh), which is very close to the FAA’s limit of 100W. It’s TSA-approved, so you’ll be able to take it on flights. It’s capable of taking an M4 MacBook Pro from fully dead to an 80 percent charge. The power bank weighs 1.3 lbs — the same as about three iPhones, Anker says.

Other Anker Prime devices are on sale too. A new 3-in-1 MagSafe charger — which can top up the batteries of your iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods with wireless charging case simultaneously — also gets a 20 percent discount to $184 when you use a clippable coupon. While there are certainly less expensive 3-in-1 MagSafe options out there, this one includes Qi2 25W support for faster charging, as well as TEC active cooling. Anker suggests this can help speed up charging times and help guard against iPhone battery degradation over time.

A three-port GaN Prime Charger that plugs into an outlet is 20 percent off too, at $120 with a clippable coupon. Anker says it’s as compact as an AirPods Pro 3 case and can provide a total output of 160W, with up to 140W via a single USB-C cable. The charger is said to offer smart power distribution, and you can monitor what’s happening and adjust modes via an onboard display and controls.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Is Getting An Overhaul And A 50 Percent Price Increase

by admin October 1, 2025

After a few years in a console’s life cycle, its common to see dips in price for its older games and hardware, but in 2025, the opposite has been true. The latest culprit of the rising cost of gaming is Xbox Game Pass, which we learned today would be getting new features, but a massive increase in monthly fees. Ultimate, the highest tier of the service, will cost 50 percent more, going from $19.99 a month to $29.99 a month. A breakdown of the new tiers is included below.

Game Pass Essential (formerly Core)- $9.99 a month

  • 50+ games now playable on PC, console, and cloud
  • Unlimited Cloud Gaming
  • In-game benefits, including for Riot Games
  • Online console multiplayer
  • Play and earn up to $25 a year in the Store with Rewards

Game Pass Premium (formerly Standard) – $14.99 a month

  • 200+ games now playable on PC, console, and cloud
  • New Xbox-published games within a year of launch
  • Unlimited cloud gaming with shorter wait times
  • In-game benefits, including for Riot Games
  • Online console multiplayer
  • Play and earn up to $50 a year in the Store with Rewards

Game Pass Ultimate – $29.99 a month

  • 400+ games now playable on PC, console, and cloud
  • 75+ day one games a year, including all Xbox-published games day one
  • Ubisoft+ Classics and EA Play included, with Fortnite Crew coming in November
  • Unlimited cloud gaming at our best quality, with the shortest wait times
  • In-game benefits, including for Riot Games
  • Online console multiplayer
  • Play and earn up to $100 a year in the Store with Rewards

Xbox justifies the increase with a new lineup of upgrades. An Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription now includes Ubisoft+ Classics (a $7/month fee that includes access to select Ubisoft games) and Fortnite Crew (which offers monthly skins and V-Bucks), along with an upgraded version of Xbox’s cloud gaming service. It also retains its previous benefits, including day 1 releases, a library of 400 games, EA Play, and online gaming.

Lower tiers, however, are relatively unchanged, save for their names: Game Pass Standard is now Game Pass Premium, but remains $14.99 a month, while Game Pass Core, now Game Pass Essential, is still $9.99. New games also come to each service today; you can read that full list here.

Just last year, Game Pass Ultimate increased in price from $16.99 to its current $19.99, and that change was signaled two months in advance – these latest changes go into effect today. This also comes following last week’s news that Xbox’s ROG Ally handhelds will be $599.99 and $999.99, and two weeks after we learned Xbox consoles are getting their second price increase this year.

Only ‘two percent’ of Escape from Tarkov players may get to see its best ending

by admin September 28, 2025

Escape from Tarkov players may finally get the chance to escape from the fictional war-torn city in northwest Russia, but it won’t be easy. During a live Q&A at Tokyo Game Show, Nikita Buyanov, the game’s director, told the audience that there will be four endings that players can achieve, which will be determined by the playthrough’s completion and progression. Buyanov added that the “best ending” will be “really hard” and “not everyone will escape from Tarkov.”

“I think it will be something around two percent of all of the player base,” Buyanov said of how many players the team expects to reach the toughest ending. “It will be really challenging, and you can treat it as an achievement of your life to finally escape from Tarkov.”

After being in beta for more than eight years, Escape from Tarkov is scheduled for a 1.0 release, along with its debut on Steam. Even after the November release, Buyanov said that the team still has a ton of content planned for the game’s future over the next five years. Much of the new content is still being kept under wraps, as is whether or not the developer plans to do another wipe before the official release that would reset player progression.

Buyanov said during the Q&A that there will be seasonal characters subject to typical wipes, along with a permanent main character that can retain progress indefinitely. As for whether the current state of the game will see another wipe before the November release, Buyanov posted on X that a decision hasn’t been made yet but that the team is leaning towards “probably no wipe.”

One of our favorite video doorbells is 47 percent off in the run-up to Prime Day

by admin September 27, 2025

The Ring Battery Doorbell Plus is top pick for battery-powered doorbells, offering sharp 1536p video with a head-to-toe view that makes it easy to spot packages on the porch floor other doorbells might miss. It’s also the most responsive video doorbell our reviewer has tested, pulling up live feeds in about half the time of others.

Beyond that, the doorbell supports radar-based motion detection, which allows for more accurate notifications compared to previous models. It also retains support for color night vision, pre-recorded Quick Replies, and two-way talk, and, for $4.99 a month, you also get bonus features like package and people alerts. And because it works with Amazon Alexa, you can pull up the live feed on an Echo Show or Fire TV with just your voice for free.

The LCD Steam Deck is 20 percent off right now

by admin September 22, 2025

Steam’s seasonal sales are usually the peak moments to add new software to your library, but right now, Valve is offering a notable hardware discount. The Steam Deck starter model is currently on sale for 20 percent off its usual $399 price tag. That means you can snag yourself the gaming handheld with an LCD screen and 256GB of storage for $319. Steam hasn’t set an end date for this offer, so it might be worth acting quickly if you want to get in on this particular sale.

Valve

20 percent off the starter model of the gaming handheld.

$319 at Valve

The Steam Deck is still the go-to for most PC gamers who want a handheld. Its balance of power, portability and price have kept it one of our top recommendations, even three years after the product’s debut. But keep in mind before you add this to your cart that this iteration does have a few limitations compared to the higher end Steam Decks. The LCD screen doesn’t have the true blacks of the OLED option, and serious players may run up against the storage limits of this model pretty quickly. But if you’ve been curious about a Steam Deck and aren’t looking to have a full library of big AAA downloads available all at once, this is a good time to pick up one of your own. Besides, with the $80 you’ll save, you can also grab a copy of current indie darlings Hollow Knight: Silksong and Hades II and still have money leftover.

It’s the last chance to save 50 percent on annual subscriptions

by admin September 17, 2025

Sometimes, rising prices for streaming services feels as inevitable as death and taxes. So when a serious discount is available, we tend to sit up and take notice. Now, you can get a whopping half off an annual subscription to Paramount+ through September 18. A year of the Paramount+ Essential plan, which is ad-supported, will cost $30 compared to the usual $60. Paramount+ Premium, which is ad-free except for live tv programming, will cost $60 for a year instead of $120.

Paramount+

Get half off plans for new and returning customers through September 18.

$30 at Paramount+

This is a substantial deal that both new and returning subscribers can take advantage of; it’s not uncommon for this type of serious discount to only be offered to a first-timer. Anyone who signs up for a year-long subscription to Paramount+ from now through September 18 will be able to get this pricing. The only real caveat with this deal is that you have to pay for the full year in advance; month-to-month subscriptions will still cost the usual rate.

Paramount+ has some great programming options, particularly if you’re a fan of anything involving RuPaul. It’s also the home of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and Star Trek: Lower Decks, which are arguably the best modern additions to the sci-fi show’s canon, as well as the other past and present Star Trek series. The platform offers a solid lineup of sports as well. And if you opt to go for the Premium plan, you’ll also be granted access to Showtime titles such as Yellowjackets and the rebooted Dexter: Resurrection.

Opendoor Board Chair Thinks the Company Should Cut Its Workforce by 85 Percent

Opendoor Board Chair Thinks the Company Should Cut Its Workforce by 85 Percent

by admin September 14, 2025

If you work for Opendoor, the online real estate platform, you might consider polishing up your resume. The chair of the company’s board recently let it slip that he thinks the firm could stand to lose almost all of its employees.

During a recent appearance on CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street,” Keith Rabois, a former member of the PayPal Mafia, told a reporter that he felt that the majority of the people at his company were expendable. “There’s 1,400 employees at Opendoor. I don’t know what most of them do. We don’t need more than 200 of them,” Rabois remarked. He added that “the advent of AI and other technologies” made the workforce reduction a “simple problem” to solve.

Rabois’ apparent disinterest in maintaining a majority of Opendoor’s workforce is somewhat humorous given how well the company’s been doing lately. Indeed, the company’s stock is up 500 percent this year. That said, the stock performance appears to largely be the result of a wave of retail investors becoming interested in the firm due to online advice spread by a hedge fund manager. As a result, the company has been dubbed a “meme stock,” which Rabois disputes.

It’s unclear whether Rabois’s ruthless comment was just an effort to inspire confidence in the profitability of the company. After all, if you fire almost everybody at a firm, there’s a much bigger chance you’ll turn a profit.

The stock soared this week, but other developments also helped buoy investor confidence—namely, the appointment of former Shopify executive Kaz Nejatian as its new CEO. CNBC notes that “investor” pressure had spurred the exit of former Opendoor CEO Carrie Wheeler. On Thursday, the company’s stock rose a whopping 78 percent, before dipping down 13 percent on Friday, the outlet notes.

Rabois had more to say about his efforts to transform the online real estate platform: “The culture was broken,” he said, of the firm’s previous management. “These people were working remotely. That doesn’t work. This company was founded on the principle of innovation and working together in person. We’re going to return to our roots.”

Rabois also took the opportunity to dunk on the company’s diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, noting that, under its previous leadership, the firm had gone “down this DEI path,” and that Rabois intended to “fix all that.” Gizmodo reached out to Opendoor for more information about its apparent plan to upend its workforce.

Anker magnetic power banks are up to 42 percent off

by admin September 13, 2025

One of our favorite magnetic power banks is on sale for 42 percent off right now. The Anker 622 Magnetic Battery is down 42 percent to $28, which is almost as low as we’ve ever seen it. This steep discount is also available at Anker’s online store with a coupon code that the company provides. This 5,000mAh MagSafe-compatible charger with a foldable stand is a slim and portable battery that can keep your devices going on long days away from a charger.

Anker

Close to a record low price for this slim and portable MagSafe compatible charger.

$28 at Amazon

Anker says the 622 Magnetic Battery can recharge a dead iPhone 16 or 16 Pro to just over 80 percent, and an iPhone 16 Pro Max to just over 60 percent. In our hands-on review of the portable charger, we liked the magnetic stand that folds out into a 30-degree angle. Users can rotate their phone to either portrait mode or landscape mode while charging.

The Anker 622 is an older charger, so it outputs a maximum of 7.5W when charging wirelessly. If you need to refill your battery faster than that, you might want to pick up one of the newer Qi2 power banks. Though a Qi2 power bank will, of course, cost more, some of our favorites are having great sales right now.

The Anker Ultra-Slim 10,000mAh battery pack can charge an iPhone 16 Pro to 50 percent in just 26 minutes, thanks to its Qi2-certified 15W of wireless charging. Right now it’s 25 percent off, priced at $60 down from $80. It’s got a bare-bones design, opting for a slim profile instead of a stand.

If you prefer one with a stand and you like the idea of a display that tells you how much charge your power bank has left, then check out the Anker 10,000mAh battery pack with smart display and foldable stand. In our rundown of the best power banks, this was our top pick for iPhones. Not only does this battery pack offer Qi2 wireless charging at 15W, it also offers 27W when using USB-C for fast charging.

Metaverse Shows Signs of Life with NFT Sales Up 27 Percent

by admin September 12, 2025

Metaverse-related non-fungible token sales rose 27% in August from the month prior, suggesting people could be “slowly sneaking back into virtual worlds,” according to an analyst from DappRadar.

There was $6.5 million in metaverse trading volume across August, down slightly from July but coming from 13,927 sales, representing a 27% increase from last month, according to the report published on Thursday.

“It’s the 2nd month of steady activity, hinting that users may be slowly returning to virtual worlds like Sandbox, Mocaverse, Otherside and Decentraland,” it wrote on X.

The metaverse saw peak hype in 2021 and 2022, driven by speculation and excitement about what the technology could achieve, slowing down in 2023 and beyond after its initial burst of popularity.

Source: DappRadar

People “sneaking back” into the metaverse

In July, DappRadar recorded sales of $6.7 million and trading volume of 10,900 in metaverses, a significant jump from just $3.7 million in sales and 12,800 in volume in June.

DappRadar analyst Sara Gherghelas said August figures show the “metaverse isn’t dead yet,” and people appear to be “sneaking back into virtual worlds.”

However, January has still been the best month for sales this year, with $7.7 million, while April and May have been the best for trading after clocking more than 19,000 in volume each.

Platforms focusing on long-term infrastructure

At the moment, Gherghelas said the top platforms are focused on building for the long term, with a focus on infrastructure.

The Sandbox, a metaverse-focused subsidiary of Hong Kong-based Web3 firm Animoca Brands, had its largest Land auction in July. The Mocaverse, a Web3 ecosystem and NFT project, is preparing to launch Moca Chain, with a testnet expected this quarter.

At the same time, Otherside, a metaverse platform developed by Yuga Labs, released AI-powered world-building tools in August.

Decentraland, a browser-based 3D virtual world, announced a major engine upgrade, and HYTOPIA, a Web3 gaming platform and metaverse, replaced its $TOPIA token with the new $HYBUX token. The team also expanded its creator fund.

Related: Animoca’s Sandbox overhauls as co-founders confirm new strategic roles

“While volumes continue to remain modest, leading platforms are shifting their focus toward long-term infrastructure, identity, and creator tools,” Gherghelas added.

Metaverse projects still in the works

Companies are still working on launching metaverses as well, with artificial intelligence startup, Infinite Reality, acquiring the music-pirating app turned music streaming service Napster in March with plans to add a music-focused metaverse.

Meanwhile, the Donald Trump-owned company DTTM Operations filed for trademarks back in February, connected with a metaverse and NFT marketplace built around the US President’s brand.
