9 Great Switch Games Are Up to 80 Percent Off This Weekend

by admin May 23, 2025

Memorial Day weekend invites important questions like what to marinate the kebobs in, whether it’s warm enough to put the pool up or not, and which new game you should buy while continuing to ignore your backlog. The Switch eShop currently has a few sales running that are worth a quick peek while waiting for the 45 minutes of coming attractions ahead of Mission Impossible 8 to end.

Fallout Season 2 Teaser Confirms Lucy and Ghoul are Heading to New Vegas

If you’re looking at physical Switch games, there are a few good deals going around at the moment. Advance Wars 1 and 2 Re-Boot Camp is currently just $30 at GameStop (half off) while Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake is just $40 (33 percent off) at Amazon. 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, Catherine: Full Body, and Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster are all heavily discounted as well at VGP.

Meanwhile, in the digital world of the eShop, the following games are all great and pretty cheap right now:

  • Prince of Persia The Lost Crown – $20 (50 percent off)
  • It Takes Two – $20 (50 percent off)
  • Tales of Kenzera: ZAU – $8 (60 percent off)
  • Monster Hunter Rise + Sunbreak Deluxe – $20 (71 percent off)
  • Dead Cells – $12.50 (50 percent off)
  • Penny’s Big Breakaway – $15 (50 percent off)
  • Doom 2016 – $4 (80 percent off)
  • The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Complete Edition – $15 (75 percent off)
  • Rayman Legends Definitive Edition – $8 (80 percent off)

The Witcher 3 port is just short of ugly on Switch, but if you have no other way to play the grim fantasy RPG it’s well worth picking up, especially on the game’s 10th anniversary. Doom 2016 runs and looks better, and should help sate the urge to rip and tear for Nintendo fans who can’t access Doom: The Dark Ages. If you just want a fun, colorful throwback to pass the time, my suggestion is Penny’s Big Breakaway, one of last year’s great unsung Dreamcast 3D platformer homages.

There are two other Switch games that are only slightly on sale but might be of interest. The Chrono Trigger-like Sea of Stars is currently $22.75 (around 30 percent off), but just got a big free Throes of the Watchmaker DLC that adds a new eight-hour quest, additional character, and more classes. Labyrinth of the Demon King, meanwhile, is a lo-fi horror dungeon crawler that just came out last week and is already turning heads. It’s $16 this week (20 percent off). If you’re interested in what might end up on the list of 2025’s most overlooked games, I’d give this one a shot.

MasterClass subscriptions are 40 percent off for Memorial Day

MasterClass subscriptions are 40 percent off for Memorial Day

by admin May 23, 2025

If you’re on grilling duty this Memorial Day and stressing about getting the steak and veggies just right, we’ve got a deal for you. The MasterClass Memorial Day sale, running from May 22 to 26, offers up to 40 percent off all subscriptions to the video learning platform. Starting at $72, you can learn how to grill from legendary Texas BBQ master Aaron Franklin, then enjoy other courses for a full year. Just make sure to subscribe before the end of Memorial Day itself to take advantage of the discount.

When you take a MasterClass course, one of the world’s top experts guides you through a series of videos on how to approach their craft. The Memorial Day deal drops the cost of a Standard subscription to $6 per month when billed annually, which comes out to $72 in total. That gives you access to more than 200 courses for a year, though you can only watch them on a device connected to the internet. It makes an excellent gift for someone you love — or for yourself.

The MasterClass Memorial Day Sale takes 40 percent off 12-month subscriptions.

$72 at MasterClass

MasterClass is also discounting its higher tiers for Memorial Day. With a Plus subscription, you can watch MasterClass courses on two devices at once, and download them to watch offline whenever you want. A Premium subscription boosts the number of devices to six. The latter also includes access to MasterClass On Call, which lets you chat with AI recreations of MasterClass experts (Although, as our review notes, that feature still needs a bit of polishing.)

After you’ve wowed your friends and family with your new grilling skills, MasterClass has plenty of other lessons that you can explore to continue your education. Creative writers can check out the BBC Maestro course that “resurrects” Agatha Christie, using her notes, an actress and AI rendering to teach the art of crafting a killer mystery. The platform also just launched a 20-episode series on healthy skin, featuring a panel of accredited dermatologists and cosmeticians.

Sonos portable speakers are 25 percent off for Memorial Day

Sonos portable speakers are 25 percent off for Memorial Day

by admin May 21, 2025

Sonos’ speakers are known for their premium price tags, but if you’re looking for a more affordable entry-point to the ecosystem, you can get up to 25 percent off some of the company’s portable speakers and speaker bundles for Memorial Day. That includes $113 off the Sonos Move 2, which brings the speaker’s price down from $449 to $336.

The Sonos Move 2 was introduced in 2023 as the more expensive follow-up to the original Move, Sonos’ first “portable” speaker. You can argue over it’s portability — the Move 2 makes more sense as something your carry to your backyard than take on a hike — but the speaker packs a punch and lets you play music over both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. We liked the Sonos Move 2 when we originally reviewed it, but took issue with how expensive it was, so this sale helps make splurging on it more palatable.

Sonos

Sonos’ powerful portable speaker is available for $339, $113 off its normal price.

$336 at Sonos

If you’re looking for something even more portable and affordable, the Sonos Roam 2 is also on sale for $45 off. Like the Move 2, the speaker has the ability to connect to a smartphone over Bluetooth outside while still being able to hook into your larger Sonos sound system over Wi-Fi at home. The Sonos Roam 2 offers some key improvements to the original Roam’s design, too, like new colors and easier to understand buttons, while still providing the company’s signature sound profile and 10 hours of battery life.

On top of the two speakers, you could also buy a bundle of a speaker and an accessory, like the Sonos Roam 2 and an OtterBox case, or a bundle of multiple speakers. You can get two Roam 2’s for $268 or a Sonos Roam 2 and Sonos Move 2 for $479, for example.

Sonos has faced issues in the last year ironing out software problems — the bugs and missing features were so bad the company’s CEO stepped down — but the fundamentals of how the company’s speakers sound have remained great. With the ship mostly righted on the software side of things, a sale is a great time to see what all of the fuss is about.

The Witcher 3 Is Just $4 As Whole Trilogy Goes 88 Percent Off

by admin May 20, 2025

For less than the price of a Mission Impossible 8 movie ticket, you can hear the wind howling across three hardware generations just like our dear friend Geralt of Rivia. That’s because The Witcher 3 and the rest of CD Projekt Red’s fantasy RPG series is just $15 as the most recent entry celebrates its 10-year anniversary.

What Is Dragonsplague? Dragon’s Dogma 2’s Devastating Contagion Explained

If you don’t already own these games, what are you doing with your life? Or if you do, maybe you have a close acquaintance, or even a not-so-close one, who you’re looking to finally get Witcher-pilled? The Witcher sale on PC and console is the perfect time to do it. Running through May 25, you can get the entire trilogy for very cheap, including The Witcher 3 for as little as $4 on Steam and GOG which, quite frankly, might be pound-for-pound the best deal in gaming if, like me, you agree it’s one of the best games ever made.

Go up to $10 and, on PC, you can get 3‘s Complete Edition which includes the Heart of Stone and Blood and Wine DLC expansions, which are every bit as good as the base game, and in some ways even better. That version is $12 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, both of which received a “next-gen” upgrade in late 2022 that added a 60fps performance mode, better reflections, and tons of other improvements.

But don’t overlook The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings which is currently just $3 on PC and Xbox (the PS3 version never got ported forward). Less refined but also more linear than its successor, the second game in the trilogy still tells a gripping story of magic fables and grim politicking across a much less overwhelming map. You can get in and out in just 25 hours if you want, with smaller zones to explore and fewer RPG systems to tinker with, but still tons of great story scenes and character writing.

The Witcher 1 is also decent in its own way, though it’s much more of an acquired taste. Some still swear by it but I’ve found the fiddly menus, archaic controls, and opaque directions a chore to muddle through, even if the storytelling lays necessary groundwork for the sequels and goes to places you only ever hear about in the latest game. At just $1.50, though, there’s really no reason not to scoop it up with the rest. The Gwent-based campaign spin-off, Thronebreaker, is also just $4, or you can play the card game for free (it’s no longer updated by CDPR but is still maintained by the community).
