Bitcoin Unlikely To Reach Price Peak In Q4 2025: Analyst

by admin September 6, 2025

Traders who predict Bitcoin will reach its cycle-high price by the end of this year may be misunderstanding the principles of statistics, a Bitcoin analyst says.

It comes as several analysts have been forecasting the outcome for Bitcoin (BTC) in recent times.

“Anyone who thinks Bitcoin has to peak in Q4 of this year does not understand statistics or probability,” PlanC said in an X post on Friday.

“From a statistical and probability standpoint, it is equivalent to flipping a coin and getting tails three times in a row, then betting all your money that the fourth flip MUST BE tails,” PlanC said, explaining that relying on the three previous halving cycles doesn’t provide enough statistically significant data.

No “fundamental reason” for Bitcoin to peak in Q4

The analyst also argued that the halving cycle is no longer relevant to Bitcoin, following recent debate in the industry over its relevance, especially with the rise of Bitcoin treasury companies and significant inflows into the US-based spot Bitcoin ETFs.

“There is zero fundamental reason — other than a psychological, self-fulfilling prophecy — for the peak to occur in Q4 2025,” he explained. Q4 has historically been the best-performing quarter on average for Bitcoin since 2013, with an average return of 85.42%, according to CoinGlass.

However, if the halving cycle is still in motion, Bitcoin could enter a downtrend as early as October, analysts have previously pointed out.

Traders have been divided in recent times over whether Bitcoin will peak at the end of the year.

Industry debates whether bull market will last in 2026

On Aug. 17, Canary Capital CEO Steven McClurg said there is a “greater than 50% chance Bitcoin goes to the 140 to 150 range this year before we see another bear market next year.”

Related: Bitcoin price ignores major US payrolls miss to erase $113.4K surge

Others expect the bull market to continue into 2026. Bitwise chief investment officer Matt Hougan said in July, “I bet 2026 is an up year.”

Meanwhile, several analysts have predicted Bitcoin could reach $250,000 before the year ends. In April 2025, BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes projected that level, and just a month later, in May, Unchained Market Research Director Joe Burnett made the same prediction.

Hollow Knight hits new peak of over 71,000 concurrent players on Steam

by admin September 3, 2025

Hollow Knight hit a new peak of over 71,000 concurrent players on Steam yesterday ahead of the release of its long-awaited sequel.

As shown by data on SteamDB, Hollow Knight previously reached a peak of 56,192 players on August 29, 2025. The day after Silksong’s release announcement at Gamescom, it hit 21,000 concurrent players.

Prior to these new records, Hollow Knight’s highest concurrent player peak was 20,000 in May 2022. Of course, these numbers only represent players on Steam; Hollow Knight is available across multiple platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox.

Following Silksong’s announcement, almost five million people wishlisted the sequel on Steam according to data from Alinea Analytics.

Team Cherry co-founders Ari Gibson and William Pellen also spoke to Bloomberg about the game’s seven-year development cycle, confirming that Silksong was “never stuck or anything” and that “games take a lot of time” to make.

“The whole thing is just a vehicle for our creativity,” said Gibson. “It was never stuck or anything. It was always progressing. It’s just the case that we’re a small team, and games take a lot of time. There wasn’t any big controversial moment behind it.”

They also shared that Silksong was planned to be an expansion for Hollow Knight, but ended up becoming its own game as development progressed.

“You’re always working on a new idea, new area, new boss,” Pellen added. “That stuff’s so nice. It’s for the sake of completing the game that we’re stopping. We could’ve kept going.”

TON Gains Robinhood spot, but recovery to $8 peak remains elusive

by admin August 29, 2025

While Robinhood’s listing provided a predictable, though modest, price jolt, the sobering reality for TON bulls is a chart still painted deep red. The token remains a staggering 60% down from its historic peak, a chasm that seems too wide for a single listing to bridge.

Summary

  • Robinhood adds TON spot trading on August 28, briefly lifting its price from $3.12 to $3.25.
  • TON remains 61.6% below its all-time high of $8.24 set in June 2024.
  • The listing puts Robinhood ahead of Coinbase, which has not yet launched TON trading.

On August 28, Robinhood confirmed the addition of The Open Network’s Toncoin (TON) spot trading to its crypto lineup, widening its roster beyond recent listings like SUI, FLOKI, ONDO, and PENGU.

The debut triggered a brief price reaction, with TON climbing from $3.12 to $3.25 before retracing gains to trade at $3.16 by press time, according to crypto.news data. The move puts Robinhood ahead of Coinbase, which has yet to roll out support for the Telegram-linked token.

The uphill climb: contextualizing TON’s muted response

Despite the positive catalyst, TON’s weekly chart remains in negative territory, with the token down over 4% in the past seven days. More significantly, it continues to trade a formidable 61.6% below its all-time high of $8.24, a peak established during the market euphoria of June 2024.

This substantial drawdown underscores a persistent challenge: while listings provide visibility, they often lack the fundamental firepower needed to reverse deep-seated bearish trends on their own. The asset is not just battling for new buyers but working to convince a cohort of bagholders who bought near the top that a recovery is imminent.

This tepid performance stands in stark contrast to the explosive moves seen across the broader altcoin market on the same day. While TON remained relatively flat, other tokens leveraged specific, high-impact ecosystem news to generate monumental rallies.

Cronos (CRO) skyrocketed over 18% following the announcement that Trump Media Group would anchor a $6.4 billion treasury on the token. Solana (SOL) surged 3% after DeFi Development Corp disclosed a massive $77 million SOL acquisition for its corporate treasury. Chainlink (LINK) saw a steady 2% climb after Caliber publicized its strategy to accumulate LINK tokens.

Perhaps the most telling comparison is with Pyth Network (PYTH), which erupted for a nearly 60% single-day gain. This monumental pump was not triggered by an exchange listing, but by a foundational development: a formal partnership with the U.S. Department of Commerce for onchain data verification.

This event provided a concrete utility and legitimacy boost that fundamentally altered the project’s value proposition, an outcome far more potent than the simple increased accessibility provided by a new trading venue.

Bitcoin Hashrate Hits New Peak as BTC Price Struggles

by admin August 27, 2025

Bitcoin’s hashrate has now reached a new all-time high of 971 exahashes per second, according to data provided by CoinWarz.

Smoothing out randomness

It is worth noting that the hashrate used to occasionally spike above 1 zettahash per second earlier this month.

However, such brief spikes are not usually treated as actual record peaks, given that the randomness of block production does not have enough time to smooth out.

The all-time hashrate charts make it possible to smooth out randomness. Thus, some believe that true all-time highs are actually recorded on longer timeframes since they do not trick analysts with mere statistical noise.

Hashrate and price

It is typically believed that Bitcoin hashrate follows the price of the leading cryptocurrency, given that more miners tend to plug in machines when coins become more expensive.

Some also assume that hashrate could actually drive price, but there is no concrete correlation.

Nevertheless, the new hashrate peak bodes well for the fundamentals of the leading network, considering that it shows that the network is gaining more strength.

Meanwhile, Bitcoin is currently struggling price-wise, with the leading cryptocurrency recently dipping below the $111,000 level.

US in the lead

When it comes to the geographical distribution of the global hashrate, the US currently remains in the lead. It accounts for as much as 36% of the network’s computational power.

China, despite the mining ban, paradoxically remains among the biggest mining powers with a 14% share of the global hashrate.

CRKD’s Vortex is a twist on a Peak Design backpack, but for gaming

by admin August 26, 2025

Embracer Group-owned CRKD recently launched a backpack, the $99.99 Vortex 1.0. During a recent vacation, I swapped it in place of my go-to for the past eight or so years, the 20-liter Peak Design Everyday backpack, which CRKD has thoroughly cribbed the look of. However, the Vortex has handheld gaming pockets, which helps it stand out, especially at this price.

I generally like using the Peak Design backpack, except that bringing it on vacations means that I have to leave my handheld(s) at home. It’s not wide enough to accommodate even the original Switch once things are stuffed into its side pockets. The Vortex 1.0, on the other hand, let me bring both my Switch 2 and Steam Deck, thanks to its two dedicated handheld sleeves. It’s also wider and taller, which means its top zipper compartment can hold a 16-inch laptop and a tablet.

Despite its similarities with the Peak Design Everyday backpack, there are little details the Vortex should have (but didn’t) attempt to duplicate, like having multiple handles that let you carry it either vertically or horizontally, or having velcro-equipped shelves that let you tweak the height and width of each compartment.

The Vortex 1.0 is a third of the cost of the 30-liter Everyday backpack, making it a good value for gamers who don’t want to turn packing into a game of Tetris. But its materials and shoulder strap padding don’t feel as durable or breathable compared to my Peak Design bag, which still looks and operates in like-new condition after nearly a decade. In other words, the Vortex can’t compete toe-to-toe in some of the most important ways with the backpack that it’s trying to clone.

Hollow Knight Just Hit An All-Time Peak On Steam After Silksong Release Date Reveal

by admin August 25, 2025

2017’s Hollow Knight just reached a new all-time peak concurrent-player record on Steam, and the achievement came just after developer Team Cherry announced the release date for its sequel, Silksong.

Hollow Knight reached an all-time peak concurrent record of 23,819 on Steam today, August 22. Measuring a game’s popularity by Steam concurrent numbers is never a perfect or complete encapsulation of a game’s popularity, and Hollow Knight being an exclusively single-player game that doesn’t rely on people playing at the same time muddies the waters as well. But what is evident here is that Hollow Knight’s popularity on Steam is growing in the wake of the big Silksong reveal.

Now Playing: Hollow Knight: Silksong – Official Release Date Reveal Gameplay Trailer

Hollow Knight’s previously Steam concurrent record of around 20,000 players was achieved in May 2022. All of this data comes from SteamDB.

Steam’s own sales data shows that Hollow Knight jumped into the top 50 overall best-selling games on the platform. The game is also available on console platforms, but sales or engagement data is not available. Hollow Knight is also available on Game Pass (and Silksong will be as well).

At least three games have already been delayed due, in part, to Silksong. The game is set for release on September 4, and it’s been a long time coming.

“Hollow Knight: Silksong appears to be exactly what we all should have expected: a strong, well-designed, visually lovely game that carries forward the aesthetic and design philosophies of the original with thoughtful, if not earth-shattering, updates,” GameSpot’s Steve Watts wrote after going hands-on with Silksong at Gamescom this week.

Hollow Knight Silksong finally gets release date, out next month

Silksong excitement has seen Hollow Knight’s concurrent Steam peak record smashed over and over again

by admin August 24, 2025

People are getting ready for Hollow Knight: Silksong in the very best way possible – by replaying the original, Hollow Knight, in record numbers.

Ever since Silksong’s 4th September release date was confirmed at Gamescom last week, more and more people have been heading back into Dirtmouth, so much so that Team Cherry’s critically-acclaimed game has repeatedly broken its own concurrent peak player count on Steam over the weekend.

Hollow Knight: Silksong release date.Watch on YouTube

Right now (and “right now” is subject to change with alarming speed), Hollow Knight’s all-time concurrent peak of 39,356 players was set less than an hour ago. And while there are plenty of games that have eclipsed that over the last few weeks, don’t forget that Hollow Knight is an indie single-player game that’s eight years old now.

Of course, concurrent Steam peaks are precisely that – an indication of popularity on Steam – but it’s usually indicative of player counts on other platforms, too. But before the Silksong announcement, Hollow Knight’s concurrent Steam peak, set back in 2022, stood at a much more modest 20K.

Hollow Knight: Silksong will release on Thursday, 4th September 2025 for PC, Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Yet contrary to what you may believe, Silksong hasn’t been in development hell for that time, however – in fact, Team Cherry’s developers say they were just having too much fun making it.

Peak Is Now Steam Deck Verified And The Cannon Glitch Is Fixed

by admin August 23, 2025

Steam darling Peak’s latest patch changes the game for Steam Deck players and speedrunners who love nothing more than a good glitch.

Peak version 1.25.a makes a few major changes and a bunch of minor ones. The biggest alteration is that the game is now Steam Deck Verified.

“Finally…..the game is good on Steam Deck,” the team wrote in the patch notes. “Deck players will know it’s been good for a while! The Mesa Update added the last of controller support needed and with this patch we’ve added some text adjustments needed to get the Verified badge.”

There are a whole bunch of fixes and adjustments as well. Most prominently, it’s much harder to glitch your way to the top of the mountain than it has been over the last couple of weeks.

“Made fog walls taller so you can’t shoot over them to win the game in a minute with the Scout Cannon exploit,” Team Peak wrote. “A lot of you asked us not to change the Scout Cannon but no promises were made about the map.”

Previously, players could use the Scout Cannon to blast themselves so high that they were able to clear all five of the game’s biomes and reach the goal at the peak. With the fog wall change, cannons can still send players ridiculously far under the right circumstances, but they’re now much more likely to smack into the wall of shifting fog that separates each biome and fall to their deaths. That said, we did manage to use the cannon to clear at least a couple of biomes before crashing back to earth when testing the update, so ridiculous cannon stunts remain possible.

Interestingly, this patch also added the ability to toggle off The Looker, a character who could randomly appear behind certain rocks, and who would disappear if you got too close or looked at them for too long. Even if you do leave the feature enabled, the character’s appearance will be more rare moving forward.

One issue many Peak players have run into is that a bunch of the game’s merit badges, tied to its Steam achievements, don’t seem to unlock, even after doing everything required to earn them. Those issues have been resolved for the Cool Cucumber, Plunderer, Clutch, and First Aid badges.

Other issues addressed in this patch include problems with beehives (insect phobia textures work now, and you can’t put beehives into your backpack anymore), alongside several balance changes (hot rocks in the Kiln now damage players correctly, the Cure-All item can cure some thorns in the Mesa biome, and the Magic Beanstalk is faster to climb).

Peak is the latest and one of the best examples of the genre that gamers have began to lovingly (or not-so-lovingly) as “friendslop”–relatively simple co-op-first games that include an element of humor, such as R.E.P.O. and Lethal Company. Getting to the top of Peak’s mountain requires skill and knowledge, but things like exploding spores, the fact that you can lose consciousness and fall off the mountain, and lots of other hazards, are undeniably meant to cause laughter.

Peak has sold over 10 million copies on Steam according to Geoff Keighley, and has recently added features like a Mesa biome, cannibalism, and more.
