Lost Soul Aside developer acknowledges cutscene issues, despite major day one patch

by admin August 30, 2025

Lost Soul Aside releases today, but its developer has acknowledged issues with cutscenes despite a major day one patch.

In a post on social media, the studio noted feedback regarding the performance of certain cutscenes. “Currently, some of these cutscenes are pre-rendered 4K/30fps videos, which may cause occasional stuttering during playback,” it wrote. “We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused and appreciate your understanding.”

A future update is planned to work on further optimisations and “deliver a smoother gameplay experience”.

Lost Soul Aside – Demo Trailer | PS5 & PC GamesWatch on YouTube

Still, it’s a somewhat worrying sign that issues remain following a major patch released on day one. As shared a few days ago on social media, the Day 1 Update Patch promises:

  • Comprehensive performance optimisations and stability improvements for smoother gameplay
  • Visually enhanced effects for deeper immersion in the dazzling world of unknown powers
  • Overall audio refinements for a more immersive sound atmosphere
  • Final polishing and gameplay upgrades throughout for a complete adventure

It’s due to this required patch that media has not had access to the game until release. And over on Steam, the game currently has a Mixed rating, with most negative reviews citing performance issues. One user called the framerate “wildly inconsistent”, while another was unable to “walk around town without feeling sick”.

If you’re keen to give the game a go yourself, there’s a demo available across both PC and PS5.

And for those not familiar with Lost Soul Aside, it’s been a decade since Chinese developer Yang Bing began work on a Devil May Cry and Final Fantasy 15 inspired fan project. Since then, he’s expanded his studio, received funding from PlayStation’s China Hero Project, and has now finally released the full game.

It’s also one of many action-RPGs coming from Chinese developers in the wake of Black Myth: Wukong’s success.

Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater issues acknowledged by Konami, patch on the way

by admin August 28, 2025

Konami has acknowledged issues with Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater, as the stealth game remake launches today.

Ahead of release, some reviews have noted disappointing performance, particularly with the PS5 Pro version of the game. Digital Foundry, for instance, noted issues due to the console’s PSSR upscaling, despite it overall being a beautiful game.

In a statement shared on social media and Steam, Konami said it had “received reports of several issues and are preparing a patch to address them”, though general performance is not mentioned beyond a couple of specific points causing crashes.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Review – A MUD-SLICK CLASSIC REBORNWatch on YouTube

The known issues acknowledged by Konami are as follows:

  • Performing an additional survival knife attack after completing a series of consecutive attacks to secure food may cause the game to crash under certain conditions.
  • Removing the Crocodile Cap from the Survival Viewer while it is equipped may cause the game to crash under certain conditions.
  • Collecting food when a hungry crocodile is nearby may cause the game to crash under certain conditions.
  • Transitioning from a roll into a crawl may result in the character model floating in mid-air under certain conditions.
  • In areas where the camera switches to Intrusion View, character movement may become restricted under certain conditions.
  • Opening the Radio Window under certain conditions may cause the game to crash.

Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater is available now across PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Eurogamer’s five star review of Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater describes it as “a surprisingly sensitive remake from Konami” that brings a legend back to life.

Overwatch 2 Season 18 Patch Breaks Cassidy, Wrecking Ball

by admin August 28, 2025

Overwatch 2’s 18th season began this week, and it’s overhauling every hero’s Perks. These are buffs and tweaks to each character’s abilities that the player chooses between over the course of a match. Cassidy, the gunslingin’ cowboy of the roster, has a pretty packed season between his new fire-based mythic weapon and being the face of the Luka Dončić collaboration event, but his greatest boon is that his new perk is absolutely busted.

One of Cassidy’s new perks is called Silver Bullet, and it replaces his rapid-fire “Fan the Hammer” secondary fire with a piercing shot that inflicts Bleed on its target. So not only does it shoot through enemies, but it inflicts damage over time on them as well. You can also zoom in when using it for more precision, which is always helpful for a hitscan hero. Its cooldown resets when you use his dodge roll, so you can pop these suckers off in rapid succession and do some real damage. Combine it with his mythic weapon Blazing Sun and you’ve got a fireworks show going on over the payload. However, it looks like it might be busted, as players found that if you press both primary and secondary fire at the same time, the damage is doubled.

So there is a bug with silver bullet that if you aim it and like instantly cancel it with roll and shoot in quick succession it does like double the damage it’s supposed to pic.twitter.com/QyNcbfmSQk

— Kaladin (@KaladinMeow) August 27, 2025

Fans are calling this latest patch one of Overwatch 2’s buggiest, but I guess when you’re overhauling a system like Perks there’s bound to be stuff that falls through the cracks. Wrecking Ball, the mech-piloting hamster tank, has been temporarily removed from standard play while Blizzard fixes a game-breaking bug that gave him too much momentum when moving while grappled to an object, and Hazard is able to use his block ability forever, rather than having to stop for a cooldown as he’s supposed to.

As indicated by the comments on @mi7supp’s video above, some players are reporting issues with Venture and Ashe as well. Hopefully Blizzard will have these squashed in the coming days. While it’s not a great start to the season, Overwatch 2 has a lot going on in season 18, including a Persona collaboration that will add new skins and cosmetics based on Atlus’ high school social sim RPGs.

League of Legends 25.17 Patch notes

by admin August 27, 2025

League of Legends Patch 25.17 officially marks the start of Season 3, and there’s plenty for the community to explore.

Season 3’s greatest highlight is Xin Zhao, along with a fresh battle pass with plenty of rewards. There are plenty of buffs and nerfs, along with the return of the regular Summoner’s Rift map. With new builds for your favorite characters and plenty to master, let’s look at all the key changes.

Complete League of Legends 25.17 Patch notes

The new patch officially commences Season 3, and the Act 1 battle pass lets you grind for plenty of valuable rewards. There are 48 levels of rewards to unlock, but you can get more items by completing Repeating Missions once you’re done with the main path. While the pass will allow you to get plenty of resources, this major patch has more key changes.

Season 3 Ranked

The patch officially starts Season 3 Ranked, available on Aug. 27 (server reset time). While ranked LP progression will be retained, you’ll have to grind through the new Victorious Mission to get fresh skin.

Xin Zhao

Xin Zhao has a new model, fresh animations, ability icons, and more. In short, he has been given a new coat of paint while the abilities and role remain the same. However, once the update is live, his Commando and Imperial skins will cost more RP.

Image via Riot Games

You’ll also get to enjoy an updated lore as you go through his development through the different seasons. The events of the third season, just like those of its two predecessors, are all directly connected to the developments of Arcane (for those who enjoyed the Netflix series).

Doom Bots and Trials of Doom

The new patch also marks the return of the Doom Bots mode with certain changes. This PvE gamemode will allow you to take on Veigar and his army. Survive the bots for 15 minutes, and then take on Veigar while protecting your nexus.

While the core gameplay remains the same, there are new bots, curses, and a difficulty level. This version of Domm Bots will also have something called Trials of Doom. Here, you’ll get to enjoy specific challenges required to defeat Veigar. You’ll find different challenges based on the first three patches before they are all reactivated.

The first trial is Veigar’s Evil, where all the boots receive Veigar’s passive: Phenomenal Evil. The enemies will gain Adaptive Force whenever they hit you with a spell, and Veigar’s spells will remain active for the entire time. In short, prepare your dodging spells if you and your allies want to survive the 15 minutes.

League of Legends Patch 25.17 improvements

Riot continues to make new improvements to the gameplay for the community to enjoy, and here are some major ones in the latest patch.

  • Changes to the third-party app policy will prevent you from enjoying a few features from external apps. Some of these features could eventually be added to the official version so that everyone has equal access.
  • Basic and Advanced minimap views allow you to track what’s happening around you. You can view different timers to track what’s emerging in the jungle, and when you should move in for a potential gank on the enemy.
  • Ultimates and recently used spells will be communicated better to help you analyze the gameplay. Any spells targeting you will be pinged and shown to help you understand what happened.
  • Death Recap has been moved out of the way to show how much damage you dealt, your contribution to the fight, and more.

Plenty of updates are being made to the champions in the latest patch, and we will update them soon in this guide.

A new playable hero is just the beginning of a large swath of changes coming to Overwatch 2 in season 18.

Balancing changes are abound when it comes to things like Perks, Stadium Items and Powers, and more. Summer Games 2025 also returns, while Junkrat’s Loot Hunt event comes back again in September to mark the occasion.

Here’s what’s coming to OW2 in the new season when it launches on Aug. 26.

Overwatch 2 patch notes – Season 18

This is a pretty hefty update for OW2, including a new hero, plus the overhaul of many of the Perks introduced a few seasons ago, while also changing up a bunch of content within Stadium mode as well.

Roadhog revamp

Image via Blizzard

Stop me if you’ve heard this before, but Roadhog is getting a rework again. Say goodbye to his Pig Pen throwable trap, and welcome back his classic dual-firing kit. Here’s how Roadhog is changing:

    • Reverted to classic Primary and Secondary Fire functionality.
  • Primary Fire
    • No longer includes a volley of 4 extra large, long-ranged projectiles.
    • Number of projectiles increased from 16 to 25.
    • Damage per pellet reduced from 6.25 to 6.
  • Secondary Fire
    • Initial volley no longer crits.
  • Pig Pen
  • Take a Breather
    • Moved from Secondary Fire to Ability 2.
    • The option to toggle on the ability is now on by default.
    • Added Ability 1, Primary Fire, and Secondary Fire as additional cancel buttons while
      toggled.
    • Minimum time before cancelable reduced from 0.8 to 0.6 seconds.

Advanced Info Panel

After a recent tease, OW2 confirmed it will add a new panel for Advanced Information regarding a multitude of facets of the game, like hero abilities.

“From precise damage numbers and healing output to cooldowns and other critical stats, every value will be laid out for you to make smarter plays and master your kits,” Blizzard said. “Whether you’re looking to fine-tune your aim in Competitive or curious about the real impact of your abilities, the Advanced Info Panel will give you the numbers you need to level up your strats and play with purpose.”

Hero Progression 2.0

Image via Blizzard Entertainment

Hero Progression changes in season 18 “rebuilds the system from the ground up” and is all about cosmetics to show off your proficiency and playtime for each hero. Here’s what leveling up your individual heroes can bring, with descriptions directly from Blizzard:

  • Progression Level represents how much you play overall. Every time you level up a hero, your Progression Level also goes up.
  • Your hero and account level badges are automatically prestiged after reaching certain levels.
  • Level up your heroes to earn Ascended borders, which displays in most areas during the course of a match. Opponents will not be able to see your Ascended prestige until after the match begins.
  • As you level up, kickstart your cosmetic collection for your favorite heroes by earning Highlight Intros, Emotes, Victory Poses, Player Icons, Credits, and more.
  • Additionally, unlock evolving Name Cards and Player Titles to show off your high level heroes!
  • Progression accolades can be hidden in Streamer Mode settings.

Competitive Play – Hero Skill Rating

SR is back in OW2, but this time for individual heroes, allowing players to analyze their skill level for the different characters in the game. This is purely cosmetic, though, and does not affect matchmaking in any way, with each hero skill level set between 1 and 5,000.

There’s also a rank reset with the new season, due to the plethora of different changes alongside the update.

The full, comprehensive patch notes for season 18 can be found on the OW2 website. The new season begins on Aug. 26 at 1pm CT.

Palia‘s next big update, Botanical Bliss, is now live on all available platforms, and there’s plenty in-store for the players to enjoy and explore.

The latest update gives us new ways to explore the magical world and deck out our housing plots. Additionally, 1st and 2nd Anniversary Plushies are also available to all as part of a limited-time login campaign.

All major Palia Botanical Bliss features

The new update has plenty of events to engage in. Completing the events will allow us to win special rewards.

Flower Bloom Event

This event will be available to all players at 12pm game time in Palia. You will have to take part in a co-op-focused flower-filled challenge to complete the tasks and unlock the rewards. You can also attempt to go solo, but it could be slightly tricky.

The event will be available to beginners and veterans alike. If you’re just starting in Palia, complete the tutorial to gain access to the event. You might be missing the watering can, but you can still enjoy the remaining content that the event has to offer.

To make matters easier, a new Bulletin Board is available for all. You can use the board to explore seasonal themes, take part in limited-time activities, and win various rewards. You can also find mini narrative-driven objectives to win even more rewards.

New decor items

If you’re looking to add more color and style to your house in Palia, make sure to explore the eight flower-themed nameplates. The nameplates are available from Flower Bloom Event rewards and Bulletin Board quests.

You can find more options in the Premium Store, which also gets new updates. Fresh items like the Beastslayer and Yacht Club outfit collections, Torocat Pet and Glider, and the Beastslayer Tool Skin will be available as part of Botanical Bliss.

You can also find new Plushes like the Floatfish Toadstool, Piksii, and Floatfish Midnight during the event.

New flora

Sticking true to the theme of the event, you will find ten new floras to explore, combined with nine stylish planters.

Here’s the complete list of all flora items/recipes and how to acquire them.
