Black Ops 7 teaser goes live on Cordis Die channel

by admin June 20, 2025

The teasing of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has begun. Twelve years later, the Cordis Die channel (Cordis Die is the main antagonistic faction of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2) has uploaded a new video. The events of Black Ops 2 have occurred this week (Black Ops 2 takes place in 2025 with several main plot points during June 18-20). Apparently, all of that was just the beginning… Now to wait for the next teaser.

The devs are excited to, and in the new COD Pod that just dropped (Call of Duty Podcast for those unfamiliar), the crew gave us a little more intel on what’s coming in Black Ops 7. A big piece of information: No wallrunning or jetpacks, although the next evolution of Omnimovement will be present. As someone who loved how Modern Warfare III iterated on Modern Warfare II, I can’t wait to see it in action and get it in hand. All the details below!

The Call of Duty Podcast episode this round is not to be missed. In Episode 006, Miles Leslie, Associate Creative Director at Treyarch dives deep into the Black Ops 7 teaser, breaking down hidden details, easter eggs, and cryptic clues — including the ones even the most die-hard fans might’ve missed.Plus, the team answers some burning fan questions about Black Ops 7 — including movement mechanics and a few first-look shots of gameplay. But that’s just the beginning. They then go behind the curtain to explore the high-impact world of Capture and Animation, with an exclusive look at how iconic Finishing Moves and Cinematics are brought to life with Phillip Lozano (Animation Director, Treyarch and Mikal Vega (Performance Capture Director, Treyarch).

Ending the Xbox Summer Game Fest Showcase with COD: Black Ops 7 was a terrible decision, even though it no doubt made perfect sense

by admin June 10, 2025

Xbox had a really good showing on Sunday, its showcase at the tail end of a Summer Game Fest period that has at times felt rather glib managing to make people feel happy about video games again – at least for a little bit. It was full of the kind of quirky and interesting-looking games that in years past would have been reserved for PlayStation’s E3 showcase, with only a smattering of what you might call Big games with a capital B. That was until the end.

Phil Spencer, CEO Microsoft Gaming, appeared on the pre-recorded showcase to wrap things up, tantalisingly teasing 2026 releases for Gears of War E-Day, a new Forza (presumably Horizon), and the next Halo. These big games were absent (as were many others – Fable 4 and Perfect Dark, most notably), and Phil I think wanted to acknowledge that. As with showcases of this nature, especially during key moments of the year, there’s always that hope for a “one more thing” mic drop. And it came… and went.

Maybe it’s just me, but this final reveal (as much as the whole thing is marketing as much as it is an event) needs to be something unexpected. Perhaps a sequel to a franchise that’s been dormant for years, maybe a brand-new game series from a big developer, maybe a big blowout on a game fans have been desperate to see more on. What it shouldn’t be, ever, is the game announcement equivalent of announcing the sun will rise and then fall, that another day is coming tomorrow, or that the tide will be in and then out. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 didn’t need to be at the Xbox Showcase and the Xbox Showcase didn’t need Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.

The Xbox showcase. Phil Spencer comes on at 1 hour 5 minutes to wrap up the show and tease one more thing.Watch on YouTube

Imagine for a moment that EA held its own big showcase event this year, as it used to do back in the days when E3 was really pumping out the events. The publisher has dropped reveals for a new Madden, Battlefield, and Need for Speed, then we’re given the “one more thing” mic drop… and it’s a new FIFA (EA FC). At first, though, you don’t realise it’s EA FC, the snazzy and really pretty cool trailer making you comb through your mind to figure out what this neat looking teaser is revealing. Then, just as the lead character morphs into a football and is kicked by Harry Kane, EA FC 27 flashes onto the screen. You’d feel duped, and somewhat confused.

I understand that Call of Duty is a game series so huge a large portion of people are going to want to see a trailer for the next entry, and that from a business perspective it might seem ludicrous to not give it top billing, but it honestly sucked all the air out of the room. I’m not naive enough to expect something equivalent to an Elder Scrolls 6 reveal at the end of every show, but that moment matters. It’s an important beat that can last long in the memory. It was a moment wasted for Xbox.

If we go back just a couple of days to PlayStation’s pre-SGF State of Play (a lower stakes event, but still a presentation of new games), it ended with Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls. Not a game I’m personally excited about because I can’t get into fighting games, but it was a big surprise reveal, a big license with Marvel, and it went pretty deep into the whole thing. PlayStation is seemingly courting the fighting game fan, and for that audience this was a big moment and a big win. It was everything the BLOPS 7 reveal wasn’t.

Had an alien been given the basic rundown of the video game world here on Earth, I have no doubt they’d read this article and shake their head in disbelief and confusion. What can I say, sometimes vibes matter more than numbers. The best option isn’t always the biggest.

Call of Duty team “committed” to bringing series to Nintendo, as Black Ops 7 release omits Switch 2

by admin June 9, 2025

The next Call of Duty installment was announced over the weekend, along with its release platforms: Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is slated to debut across Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PS4, and PC.

Black Ops 7’s omission of a Switch 2 release (at least presently) from the launch platform line-up has raised some eyebrows due to the fact that, back in 2023, Microsoft announced a deal with Nintendo to bring Call of Duty to its platforms on “the same day as Xbox, with full feature and content parity”.

However, while for now there is no word of a Switch 2 release for Black Ops 7, the team is “committed” to bringing the Call of Duty series to Nintendo, Activision has told Eurogamer.

In a statement shared with Eurogamer, Activision confirmed: “We’re committed to getting the franchise on Switch. Both teams [are] working on it. Will share details when ready.”

On its release, Black Ops 7 will be able to be played solo or with friends “in a thrilling and innovative” co-op campaign, while also having the series’ “signature” multiplayer experience. This will include new maps and more from Zombies.

The upcoming game is being helmed by Treyarch and Raven Software, with the developers promising the “most mind-bending” Black Ops release yet. It stars Heroes and Gilmore Girls’ Milo Ventimiglia as David Mason.

We can expect further details on Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 later this summer, the team has said, so stay tuned for more.

Black Ops 7 is a sequel to Black Ops 2, and it’s bringing co-op campaign back to Call of Duty

by admin June 9, 2025

Xbox couldn’t end its summer Games Showcase without teasing the next Call of Duty, which, just like rumours and reports have long suggested, is a Black Ops sequel. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is the first consecutive release within the Black Ops series, and it arrives later this year.

Also as expected, the game will be released on last-gen consoles (PS4, and Xbox One) alongside PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. No release date has been announced, but we are going to learn more later this summer.

Treyarch, and Raven Software once again return to co-develop the game, which is essentially a Black Ops 2 sequel – though it also follows on from the events of Black Ops 6. The headline feature this time around is the ability to play the campaign in co-op, which we’ve not seen since Black Ops 3 a decade ago.

Black Ops 4 did not have a campaign at all, but reports at the time strongly suggested that an ambitious co-op campaign with open maps was in the works, before it got scrapped to make the game’s release date.

As for the trailer, it was the ‘one more thing’ shown at the Xbox Games Showcase. Only the sharpest of Black Ops fans would’ve figured out that it was David Mason being shown exploring some sort of robotics facility – but not everything is as seems. Just like every Black Ops game, Black Ops 7’s narrative will incorporate some mind-bending elements, and we certainly do some of that in the footage.

Watch on YouTube

The story takes place in 2035, a decade after the events of Black Ops 2. Psychological warfare is the name of the game, and the villan (Menendez) is a manipulator who uses cutting-edge tech to weaponise fear against their enemies.

Black Ops 7 is also bringing back round-based Zombies. As for multiplayer, expect near-future weaponry and a host of new maps – which really makes it a BO2 sequel. A full reveal will take place “later this summer,” but the teams want players to get more time out of Black Ops 6 and Warzone before everyone’s focus shifts to the new game.

Black Ops 7 is a day-one Game Pass game, available at no extra cost to Ultimate, and PC Game Pass members.

Activision debuts Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 at Xbox Games Showcase 2025

by admin June 9, 2025

Microsoft and Activision revealed Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 in a dramatic cinematic trailer during the 2025 Xbox Games Showcase. Having two Black Ops games release consecutively is a first for the franchise, and Activision’s Treyarch and Raven studios teamed up to make it happen following 2024’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

The Black Ops 7 trailer is a trippy thing, like something you might expect out of Remedy’s Alan Wake series, with scenes of the protagonist appearing to experience a fragmented consciousness, a moment where a cityscape folds in on itself Inception-style, laughing TV sets, red butterflies made of data, and talking robot butlers escorting someone through a suspiciously, eerily calm executive suite. While we’re not entirely sure what’s going on, we do know who’s leading the charge this time: David Mason, the lead from Black Ops 2 whose last appearance was in 2018’s Black Ops 4.

“The year is 2035 and the world is on the brink of chaos, ravaged by conflict and psychological warfare following the narrative events of Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 6,” the game’s official description reads on Xbox Wire. “With cutting-edge technology in hand, the Black Ops team led by David Mason must fight back against a manipulative enemy who weaponizes fear above all else.”

Activision said Black Ops 7 will support solo play and multiplayer squads in a new co-op campaign, and you’ll have “near-future weaponry” to take on the challenge. Black Ops 7 will also include a standalone multiplayer mode with new maps and a zombies mode that continues the Dark Aether storyline.

There’s no Black Ops 7 release date yet, but when it does launch, it’ll be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.

The Next Call Of Duty Is Black Ops 7

by admin June 9, 2025

Screenshot: Activision / Xbox / Kotaku

The next main entry in the blockbuster Call of Duty series has been announced. Players can look forward to Black Ops 7, which is described as a direct sequel to Black Ops 6. The upcoming FPS doesn’t have a release date yet, but if history is any indicator, it will be out around October.

This Modern Warfare 3 Gameplay Feature Spices Up A Weak Campaign

During Xbox’s big Summer Game Fest event, the company ended the whole thing with a final trailer which ended up being Black Ops 7. Here’s the trailer, which confirms a new zombies mode will be included.

And here’s Xbox and Activision’s official description of the new Call of Duty:

The year is 2035 and the world is on the brink of chaos, ravaged by violent conflict and psychological warfare following the events of Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 6. Wielding cutting-edge technology, the Black Ops team led by David Mason must fight back against a manipulative enemy who weaponizes fear above all else.

According to Xbox Wire, Treyarch and Raven are developing Black Ops 7, which directly follows last year’s Black Ops 6. The game will include a co-op campaign, near-future weaponry, and a new round-based Zombies map.

Interestingly, Call of Duty Black Ops 7 will not be skipping last-gen machines. Xbox confirmed that the big sequel will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, alongside Xbox Series X/S, PC, PS5, and Game Pass. It’s wild to see Call of Duty sticking around on such old hardware for this long, but at this point, it seems like the tech powering these recent games works fine on the older consoles. So I guess Activision and parent company Xbox see no reason to leave money off the table… yet.

Xbox also announced that we’ll learn more about the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 during a bigger reveal later this summer.

Possible New Call Of Duty: Warzone Map Teased In Black Ops 7 Trailer

by admin June 8, 2025

Activision announced Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 during the Xbox Games Showcase, and the reveal trailer could also be hinting at Warzone’s next big map for battle royale.

Near the end of the Black Ops 7 reveal trailer, there is a scene of four soldiers dropping down onto a map, which looks very much like a squad diving into a Warzone match together. The map in question also looks similar to the rumored Avalon map found in Black Ops 6’s spectator mode, with both featuring a cluster of islands connected by bridges. This specific scene was saved for the end of the trailer and shown alongside a brief tease of Treyarch’s Zombies mode for Black Ops 7, so it is possible Activision is teasing Avalon for Warzone.

Now Playing: Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 | Official Cinematic Teaser Trailer

However, fans shouldn’t get their hopes up too soon. Black Ops 7 is revealed to be a co-op campaign, so it is possible the scene in question is just a section of the campaign used to show off four-player co-op. Additionally, known Call of Duty insider “The Ghost of Hope” claims the Avalon map was scrapped for battle royale and would be used for campaign and Outbreak Zombies mode for Black Ops 7.

Of course, we’ll likely learn more about Black Ops 7 and Warzone in the coming weeks, as Activision says more details will be revealed later this summer.

Season 4 is currently live in Black Ops 6 and Warzone. The season features a crossover event with the Ballerina movie, which is part of the John Wick universe. Players can earn free cosmetics and unlock a new marksman rifle during the Ballerina event in Black Ops 6 and Warzone.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 now shows you microtransaction ads when you swap weapons

by admin June 1, 2025

Eagle-eyed Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 players have spotted a new feature on the weapon selection menu.

Right at the top there now sits advertisements promoting premium weapons and skins, so players get exposed to ads for microtransactions in-game.

As some players point out, it’s not an advert in the classic sense, and no one’s trying to flog you a cheeseburger or a pair of jeans every time you swap a weapon. Nonetheless, it’s a new and insidious addition that we haven’t seen in Call of Duty games before.

“One of the unwelcome changes I’ve noticed with Season 4 is that they’ve now inserted a new ad spot at the top of the list of your weapon specifics builds,” wrote one player. “So now every time you toggle between weapon builds you get to stare at ads for $20-$30 skins. I’m sure the Activision developer who suggested this terrible feature is very proud of themselves.

“This change is especially unneeded because you could already toggle from Builds to Shop on any given weapon and apparently not being thrown directly in our faces didn’t make them enough money. Many of us payed [sic] $60-$100 for a feature game and don’t want to be bombarded with additional ads.”

“Actively witnessing Call of Duty become [SpongeBob SquarePants’] the Krusty Krab,” replied another.

“Well guys looks like COD can suck a fat one,” replied someone else. “This ad mess is ridiculous. They make huge bank already for them to even do this should be illegal. I’ve never been done with a COD this fast ever. But she’s getting deleted. You can’t scrounge people for money and not have a decent game. I’m not asking for a great game, just not a buggy game.”

In a separate thread that’s been upvoted almost a thousand times, one player opined: “I wouldn’t even be mad if this was just in warzone, a free game, but putting it in a pay-to-play premium title, with how expensive they’re getting?”

“Agree 100%, it really feels like one of those free cell phone games from a tiny indie studio begging you for money at every turn. Pathetic for a full price, stand alone game from a huge developer,” replied another.

Earlier this year, in a update shared on social media, developer Treyarch said it recognised cheaters “are frustrating and severely impact the experience for our community” but insisted it was addressing the issue, and will continue to do so “throughout 2025”. At the same time, it confirmed 136,000 ranked play accounts were banned for cheating across both Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone.
