PSA: Death Stranding 2’s full opening hour has leaked online

by admin June 22, 2025

The first hour of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach has leaked online, three days ahead of its formal release.

A YouTuber uploaded the opening hour earlier today (22nd June), writing “First part of Death Stranding [2] before everyone else”. At the time of writing, the video is still available, and it is not clear how the player obtained the early copy. Within five minutes of the footage, however, a pop-up appears, inviting the player to apply a new update, suggesting they may be playing a physical copy offline.

8 Things You Need To Know About Death Stranding 2: On The Beach.Watch on YouTube

As you may well imagine, this typically means spoilers – from story to characters to environments and everything in between – will shortly start appearing across social media, so if you prefer to go into games without prior knowledge, now would be the time to ensure your muted words list is up to date.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will release on PS5 later this week on 25th June.

Earlier this week, we learned Raised by Wolves creator Aaron Guzikowski is penning an animated film set in the world of Death Stranding. As for the live-action film adaptation, Kojima announced his company was partnering with A24 in December 2023. A24 is the production and distribution company behind the likes of Everything Everywhere All At One and Hereditary.

We also recently learned A Quiet Place: Day One’s Michael Sarnoski was attached to write and direct the Death Stranding adaptation.

Summer Game Fest 2025 Opening Showcase live stream and blog

by admin June 6, 2025

The annual cascade of Summer Game Fest broadcasts formally begins tonight with the Opening Showcase at 10pm UK time (11pm CEST/5pm EDT/2pm PDT). We’ll report all of the major announcements from it here, as they happen, while also chatting with you. So grab a tea or a coffee, or something harder if you like, and join us for the show.

Tonight’s Opening Showcase is expected to be a long one with a projected runtime of around two hours. It’ll be hosted by Geoff Keighley, as ever, although he’ll be joined this year by friend-of-Eurogamer Lucy James, which is nice. You’ll know her from GameSpot.

Keighley has kept a tight lid on announcements for tonight, although a couple of promo reels for the show have included footage from Death Stranding 2, new James Bond game 007: First Light, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, and a bunch of other games I don’t immediately recognise. There’s also been an uptick in Resident Evil 9 speculation ahead of the show, suggesting a possible unveiling tonight. Wouldn’t that be nice?

What’ve you got, Geoff, what’ve you got.Watch on YouTube

This week’s gaming festivities were kicked off on Wednesday by a PlayStation State of Play broadcast, which unveiled 007: First Light to the world, resurrected Capcom’s lost-in-development Pragmata, debuted Silent Hill F, revealed a new Lumines game, and more.

Tonight’s Opening Showcase will be followed directly by Day of the Devs, and then by a packed weekend of broadcasts including an Xbox Showcase on Sunday at 6pm UK time. I’ll return to live-report that show. We’ve compiled a full Summer Games Fest 2025 schedule elsewhere on the site.

Join us shortly before 10pm UK time for the show. In the meantime, speculate away – what would you like to see?

Let’s hope so! I can only imagine the comments if this does actually ever happen.

Good afternoon! Here we go, then. This is the big one. There should at least be an announcement or two in here to get excited about. Ian Higton just made a good point while asking what the rooster or chicken was about in the headline image, to which I said “I don’t know” because I didn’t put it there – the Summer Games Fest Twitter/X account did. Could it be a nod to Fable 4?

‘Wednesday’ Season 2’s Opening Scenes Introduce Us to Her Wild Summer

by admin June 1, 2025

During Netflix’s Tudum presentation, Tim Burton’s Wednesday star Jenna Ortega (Death of a Unicorn) presented the first six minutes of the second season of the Addams Family universe spin-off.

Watch the preview below of the strange and spooky series’ return as we catch up on the creepy, mysterious, and altogether ooky Addams Family. Of course, a new year at Nevermore Academy means more frightful dangers are in store, this time with brother Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez) joining Wednesday and her roomie Enid (Emma Myers) on a new macabre mystery. But before she returns to Nevermore, let Wednesday fill you in on what she got up to over her summer break… featuring a chance encounter with a very special guest star in the form of Haley Joel Osment.

Season two of the hit series, from the mind of director Tim Burton (Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice), will expand on the Addams Family history as we meet the extended members of the gothic glam clan. Joanna Lumley as Grandmama Hester Frump joins the ensemble cast that includes Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, Luis Guzmán as Gomez, and Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester.

Lady Gaga will also be appearing on the show after her Born This Way track “Bloody Mary” set to Wednesday’s dance from the show became a viral hit, but her role has not been revealed.

Ortega returns this time as not just the show’s lead but also as an executive producer. The actress told Tudum, “I’ve learned so much this season. It’s been so cool being a part of conversations—talking about the color of blood or the color of prosthetics. To be able to learn from someone like Tim [Burton] firsthand has been a very special experience.”

Wednesday season two part one premieres on Netflix August 6 and part two on September 3.

Metal Gear Solid Delta’s James Bond opening gets the remake treatment

Metal Gear Solid Delta’s James Bond opening gets the remake treatment

by admin May 25, 2025

Pull out the tuxedo and order a martini — shaken, not stirred — because Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater’s James Bond-esque opening has finally been revealed, and it’s different. Konami rolled out the 3-minute clip on YouTube, showing off new footage and audio from the forthcoming espionage game that reimagines Metal Gear Solid 3’s cinematic introduction.

Some key visual differences include the skeletal snakes from the original opening being more prominent in the remake. Additional shots of Snake being badass are scattered through the remade sequence, alongside shots from the original, now realized in incredible detail.

While Colonel Volgin is solely shown in the OG version, the new iteration includes even more key characters from the Cobra Unit, like The End (with his enormous eye), The Pain, and The Fear, with subtle redesigns that honor the original game’s vision. For good measure, Konami also throws in a shot of the dramatic showdown between Snake and The Boss.

The clip features new vocals from the great Cynthia Harrell, giving a softer performance compared to her original 2004 “Snake Eater” recording. Harrell’s ballad features noticeably less bass and fewer horn instruments than the 2004 edition, and leans heavier into psychedelic ambiance, emphasizing Harrell singing, “I’m still in a dream.”

Regardless of the changes, the sentiments from the original song — “concepts of why we have to live and why we have to go on,” as the song’s composer Norihiko Hibino told Polygon — remain intact.

At this point, you’re probably wondering whether or not players can still control the on-screen snakes like it’s 2004. Well, the short answer is yes.

According to the YouTube video’s description, players can engage with “interactive elements from the original, included in the in-game version of the opening.” And if Konami is honoring the snake mini-game, there’s a chance players can expect to hear a version of the song when you’re back climbing that unrealistically long ladder towards the end of the game — for James Bond dramatics, of course.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will be released on Aug. 28 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has revised iconic Bond-theme opening

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has revised iconic Bond-theme opening

by admin May 24, 2025

Konami has released the intro video for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, a remake of the iconic Bond-theme opening from the original game.

Singer Cynthia Harrell has re-recorded the theme song Snake Eater, while Kyle Cooper has re-done the visuals to match the revised main game.

While the song is essentially the same, the visuals are changed. The description states the staff credits will be included in the in-game version.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater opening movieWatch on YouTube

In the PS2 original the song comes after the initial prologue section as a credits sequence – just as you’d expect in a Bond film.

The new version has altered visuals in a similar style, but includes more gameplay footage, giving us another look at the improved graphics.

Before Snake Eater, Harrell also sang the theme song I Am The Wind for Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Steam on 28th August, complete with the Snake vs Monkey minigame.

Back in 2023, Konami confirmed Kojima Productions was not involved in the Snake Eater remake. Instead it’s been developed by Konami and Virtuos. Kojima and Konami infamously had a falling out, with Kojima leaving the company after Metal Gear Solid 5 to start his own studio.

Still, the game is a “doggedly faithful remake”, reads our Eurogamer Metal Gear Solid Delta preview.

Kojima himself is busy with Death Stranding 2, which releases next month, putting the two games somewhat in competition over the summer. He’ll then be working on his own new espionage game, Physint, but don’t expect it out for another few years.

Eagleopolis has fallen despite Helldivers 2 players slapping up 2.5 billion squids for an opening victory in the battle for Super Earth, leaving six Mega Cities to defend

by admin May 23, 2025

Do you want the good news or the bad news first? Well, good news, Helldivers 2 managed to win the first major order of the battle for Super Earth by slaughtering over two billion Illuminate. The bad news? It’s not stopped Eagleopolis from falling.

As it turns out, not even the biggest number of Helldivers the game’s had since last spring diving in to help try and hold off the invasion of fresh Illuminate baddies was enough to stop one of Super Earth’s seven Mega Cities being reduced to ruins. It’s ok, don’t cry. Hug your SEAF buddy and watch a clip of someone surfing on a Leviathan if that’ll help.

The previous major order, which was the Helldivers’ initial defense of Super Earth after the Illuminate invasion of their home planet began with the arrival of the Heart of Democracy update, ended this morning. Things looked good, the goal of casually killing 2.5 billion Illuminate had been achieved. Let the good times roll right?

Nope, said Arrowhead. “Eagleopolis, a venerable stronghold of Managed Democracy since time immemorial, lies in ruins,” the studio informed us all via its latest MO briefing, “Its tattered shopping centers stand in warning as to the fate that awaits the rest of Super Earth, should our mission fail.”

So, that’s one of the seven Mega Cities which make up Super Earth destroyed, but there’s still a long way to go in the battle for Super Earth, and that win has seen folks make some progress towards wiping out the entire Illuminate fleet or forcing it to retreat.

“Illuminate Fleet Strength currently stands at 49%,” Arrowhead continued, “Six Mega Cities remain standing. The Helldivers must dig in, alongside their SEAF allies, and continue to fight, day and night, to defend the heart of our Federation. The surviving Mega Cities must be defended at all costs. The Helldivers must deploy to the Mega Cities as Illuminate pressure shifts among them to prevent them from falling. Once they fall, they cannot be reclaimed.”

Hence the latest order’s goal – successfull extract from missions against the Illuminate 20 million times, in order to strike a further blow to the fleet’s big invisible health bar. And, of course, to avenge Eagleopolis, which I’m sure people on the game’s subreddit would be cut up about if they weren’t too busy post fan art about loving their SEAF trooper buddies in a fashion that totally isn’t getting a bit creepy.

Are you shedding super tears for Eagleopolis? Let us know below!

Check Out Metal Gear Solid Delta’s Remade Version Of The Iconic ‘Snake Eater’ Opening Movie

by admin May 23, 2025

Konami has released the remade version of Metal Gear Solid 3’s famous opening movie, which will kick off Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater when it arrives this August. This clean version of the intro cinematic allows fans and newcomers to more clearly enjoy the newly recorded vocals for the classic “Snake Eater” song.

Although this new version retains the James Bond-like motion graphics and slithering snake skeleton, it features completely new scenes compared to the 2004 original. For example, this updated version highlights the members of the Cobra Unit who were absent from the original. “Snake Eater” has also been re-recorded by its original performer, Cynthia Harrell.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a complete remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5. The original story and voice acting have been preserved, but the game features enhancements such as 3D audio and new graphical flourishes, such as Snake’s clothing degrading over time. The control scheme has been reworked and modernized, but fans can still play using the classic control setup. Additionally, the remake lets players choose between experiencing the game using a new third-person behind-the-shoulder view and the original game’s overhead viewpoint (known as Legacy Style).

You can pick up Naked Snake’s revamped adventure when it launches on August 28 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Check out previous trailers showing off gameplay, as well as our list of upcoming video game remakes.
