Seagate’s 2TB Xbox Expansion Card Is Cheaper per TB Than the 1TB One, All-Time Low Ahead of Prime Day in October

by admin September 18, 2025

Video game files sizes have gotten ridiculous. As time goes on, they continue to balloon to astronomical levels that are frankly unreasonable. This is especially common among western AAA developers. Just this year, we saw Oblivion: Remastered reach a size of over 120GB. I don’t even want to think about just how much space Grand Theft Auto VI is going to take up. While these game files extending into the triple digits of gigabytes, our Xbox consoles still sit at their base internal storage of 1TB. If you intend to play more than just the same four games back and fourth, you’re going to have to do some regular maintenance of deleting and reinstalling games — but not one want to that. The better solution is to get yourself a dedicated expansion drive. Seagate has one made specifically for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. For a limited time, you can grab it for a hefty discount.

See at Amazon

Right now, Amazon has three models of the Seagate expansion card for Xbox on sale. The 1TB model is down from $160 to just $130, saving you $30. The 2TB version comes down from $360 to just $218, a savings of $142. Then we have the massive 4TB model, normally priced at $500 but down to $430. That’s a savings of $70 with the deal. The best deal among the three at this time is for the 2TB version. That $142 savings accounts for a whopping 39% discount.

Since the Xbox Series X only starts with a single terabyte of storage, adding on one of these Seagate drives means you’ll be either doubling, tripling, or quintupling your storage capacity.

The Seagate expansion card is super easy to install. While the PS5 expansion SSDs require opening up the casing of your console, these ones for Xbox simply just plug into a dedicated slot in the back. No tools necessary. Once installed, you can choose to have the games you download save to either your internal storage or the new Seagate drive.

Play Games Seamlessly

Games saved to the Seagate drive receive the same benefits as those on your internal drive. One of the features of this generation Xbox that Microsoft likes to show off is Quick Resume. That allows you to suspend your game state of one game while you play another. You can hop from a race in Forza Horizon 5 into a quick Rocket League match with your buds, then pop back over to Forza to cross the finish line.

Well, Seagate officially-licensed the Xbox Velocity Architecture which is what makes Quick Resume possible. That means its supported on any game you have downloaded, whether its to your internals or to your new Seagate drive.

Take off the mask and get a desk job as Dispatch launches on October 22nd

by admin September 17, 2025

Today, AdHoc Studio announced that Dispatch is coming to PC and PS5 October 22nd in a weekly episode format. All eight episodes will be included with a single purchase.

Today AdHoc Studio announced that Dispatch, their highly anticipated superhero workplace comedy, will launch on October 22 for PC and PlayStation 5, kicking off an eight-episode season. Two episodes will be available at launch, with two more arriving every Wednesday until the season is complete. A single purchase gives players the entire season, and new episodes unlock automatically each week as they premiere.Like a TV series that one can play, Dispatch’s weekly format lets the community discuss and debate choices and outcomes together as each new episode drops.

“We think the release format is an underrated part of the player experience,” said Nick Herman, co-founder of AdHoc Studio and Dispatch Creative Director. “Episodic is a format that makes the story easy to slip into, easy to keep up with, and easy to share with friends. We want the launch of Dispatch to be ‘appointment gaming’ but with the weekly cadence of a TV show, as opposed to asking people to wait months between each release.”

Dispatch is a narrative adventure that follows the story of Robert Robertson, a former superhero forced to manage a squad of chaotic ex-villains while trying to exact revenge on his nemesis. The characters are brought to life by a stellar cast led by Aaron Paul, Jeffrey Wright, and members of Critical Role as part of a newly announced strategic collaboration with AdHoc Studio.

The Dispatch demo became one of the most played demos during June’s Steam Next Fest. The game currently has over 700,000 wishlists on Steam.

Dispatch is launching in an episodic format starting on October 22 on PC via Steam and on PlayStation 5. Players can wishlist the game now, join the official Discord, and follow AdHoc Studio on Bluesky, X, and Instagram for the latest updates.

Amazon’s October Prime Day kicks off October 7th

by admin September 16, 2025

Amazon has announced its fall Prime Big Deal Days event. It starts at 12:01AM PT / 3:01AM ET on Tuesday, October 7th, and runs through Wednesday, October 8th. Of course, we’ll bring you all the best deals on Verge-approved gadgets once they become available.

Amazon’s latest Prime Big Deal Days sale is shorter than the extended four-day Prime Day in July. Even so, that should be plenty of time for Prime members to save ahead of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The previous Prime Day delivered some of the lowest prices we’ve seen on popular devices like the iPad Air and AirPods 4, and we’re hoping for a similar caliber of deals this time around. In years past, we’ve seen deep discounts on big-name brands like Samsung, Apple, and Beats, plus all-time low prices on Amazon devices.

While Prime Day deals are exclusive to subscribers, Best Buy, Walmart, and other retailers often offer similar discounts, so you’ll have plenty of ways to shop. If you want to sign up for Prime, a subscription runs $14.99 per month or $139 per year. If you’re between the ages of 18 and 24, you can get a six-month subscription for free, with it renewing after that period for $7.49 per month (half the normal cost of Prime). Prime Big Deal Days will take place in the US, the UK, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Poland, Singapore, Spain, and Sweden, and for the first time, Colombia, Ireland, and Mexico.

Before Prime Big Deal Days gets underway, Amazon is holding a fall hardware event on September 30th. Amazon traditionally uses the annual event to reveal a slew of new products, including Echo smart speakers, Fire TV devices, Kindles, and more. Hopefully, we’ll see at least some of the new tech discounted during Amazon’s annual pre-Black Friday sale.

XRP Witnesses Explosive 221% Surge in Fund Inflows Ahead of October XRP ETF Verdict

by admin September 15, 2025

XRP investment products pulled in $32.5 million last week, more than double the $14.7 million recorded a week earlier, according to CoinShares. That 221% rise makes it one of the standout performers among digital assets, especially as fund inflows across the market picked up again after a quiet start to the month.

Bitcoin products continue to be the most popular crypto-tied investment opportunity, with $2.4 billion in new money, and Ethereum managed to stop losing funds by adding $645 million. Solana also made $198 million.

In the cut, XRP’s rise looks smaller in dollar terms, but it has a higher growth rate than other currencies.

Source: CoinShares

In September alone, XRP products attracted almost $48 million, taking the total for the year to date to $1.45 billion. The total value of assets under management that are linked to XRP is now $2.94 billion.

When XRP ETF?

The background is important. The SEC is expected to make a decision about several XRP ETF applications at the end of October. These include applications from Grayscale, 21Shares, Bitwise, CoinShares, Canary Capital and WisdomTree.

Traders are already expecting at least one approval, which could lead to much larger amounts of money being invested.

Nate Geraci, president of the ETF Store, said that spot XRP ETFs could attract as much as $5 billion in their first month of trading. He added that most people have not realized how big that number could be.

With those decisions only weeks away, the latest inflows into XRP funds may be a sign that institutional buyers are preparing early.

The Witcher Season 4 will hit Netflix in October with its new Geralt

by admin September 15, 2025

It’s been quite the wait, but the fourth season of The Witcher is almost here. In a teaser shared this weekend, Netflix finally revealed the release date: October 30. The video also provided an extended look at Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia — a casting change that fans naturally have a lot of feelings about after Henry Cavill won their hearts with his take on the character in the first three seasons. The minute-and-a-half-long clip doesn’t give away too much about season four, but we now have a proper sense of what our new Geralt looks and sounds like.

This season will also see Laurence Fishburne join as Regis, Sharlto Copley as Leo Bonhart and James Purefoy as Skellen. It’s the second to last season of the Netflix adaptation, and the streaming company has said that the two final seasons will cover the last three books in the series: Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow and Lady of the Lake. But, fans still have more Witcher content to look forward to yet outside of the show. The Witcher 4 (the game) is on the way, though we don’t yet have a release date.

Super Mario Galaxy 1 And 2 Are Coming To Switch This October

by admin September 14, 2025

Hot off the heels of the announcement of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, Nintendo announced that both Super Mario Galaxy games are finally coming to Switch this October.

2007’s Super Mario Galaxy and 2010’s Super Mario Galaxy 2 are being bundled together in a package plainly dubbed Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2.  Each game can also be purchased standalone, but only digitally.

The games are natively designed for the original Switch, meaning they’re also playable on Switch 2. The Switch 2 version will receive a free update adding 4K resolution support for both games.  The Galaxy games on Switch also boast improved resolution, improved UI, an Assist Mode, and new Storybook chapters fleshing out the story of the Lumas.

While Super Mario Galaxy was previously available on Switch via the Super Mario 3D All-Stars, that game is no longer available to for purchase. This gives fans who missed that collection another chance to own Galaxy and its equally excellent sequel, which is making its Switch debut after being excluded from 3D All-Stars. Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 will be available on Switch on October 2 for $69.99. Purchasing each game individually will cost $39.99.

Additionally, Nintendo is releasing new Galaxy-themed amiibo of Mario and Rosalina on April 2, 2026 and physical version of the storybook featured in the first Mario Galaxy.

‘The Witcher’ Returns for Season 4 in October

by admin September 14, 2025

At long last, we have a release date for The Witcher season four: October 30.

On Saturday night, Netflix released a first look at the new season, which sees Liam Hemsworth as the new Geralt of Rivia after Henry Cavill bowed out. We see Geralt’s still doing his monster-slaying thing, and the clip goes out of its way to assure Hemsworth’s got the look and action chops to carry the show for its final two seasons. Like the Cavill-led era, this new adventure for Geralt will span eight episodes, and unlike season three, thankfully release all at once.

Plot-wise, the logline notes Geralt, Ciri (Freya Allan), and Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) remain separated after the events of season three as war brews around the Continent. “As their paths diverge, and their goals sharpen,” it reads, “they stumble on unexpected allies eager to join their journeys. And if they can accept these found families, they just might have a chance at reuniting for good.” Along with a returning Joey Batey as Jaskier, the next season’s cast includes Laurence Fishburne, Robbie Amell, Meng’er Zhang, and Sharlto Copley.

Expect more on The Witcher as news about the season comes out. Until then, you’ve got the first three seasons to rewatch, along with the Sirens of the Deep anime film and Andrzej Sapkowski’s Crossroads of Ravens novel, which stars a young Geralt and lands September 30.

Three gaming industry summits coming to EGX at MCM London Comic Con this October

by admin September 13, 2025

Three gaming industry summits will take place at EGX at MCM London Comic Con this year.

MCM London Comic Con organiser ReedPop announced this year’s summits in a press release on September 11, 2025, revealing that this year’s convention will see the return of the PopCultr Marketing Summit, as well as an Investment Summit and a Creator Summit.

The Investment Summit, in partnership with Game Republic, offers indie developers an opportunity to learn more about securing investment for their games.

It will feature a keynote session held by Peter Moore, the former head of EA Sports, and Chris Dring, editor-in-chief of The Games Business (and former GamesIndustry.biz head).

The summit will also include a GamesIndustry.biz panel on investment chaired by our features editor Lewis Packwood. The panel will be made up of Curran Games Agency’s Cassia Curran, Transcend Fund’s Lirui Dring, Yogcast Games’ Simon Byron, and Team 17’s Meg Clarke.

More roundtables and panels will be revealed for the Investment Summit soon.

The Creator Summit, on the other hand, aims to equip creators with knowledge to help boost their careers, build their personal brand, and partner with businesses.

This summit will feature a selection of panels hosted by industry leaders, covering topics such as events, the UK’s Online Safety Act (OSA), and working with brands.

Experience12’s PopCultr Marketing Summit is also returning this year for the third time. This one-day summit brings together marketing professionals, with this year’s summit helping attendees understand the future of IP growth, storytelling, and fan engagement within a complex and constantly changing environment. You can pre-register for this summit here.

All three summits are free to attend for those with an MCM London Comic Con industry or creator pass, and will take place on October 24, 2025, at Excel London.

Battle Suit Aces, The Latest From Battle Chef Studio Trinket, Launches Its Mecha Card Battle Action This October

Battle Suit Aces, The Latest From Battle Chef Studio Trinket, Launches Its Mecha Card Battle Action This October

by admin September 9, 2025

It’s almost time to shuffle up and get in the robot. Game Informer can exclusively reveal that Battle Suit Aces, the new mecha card-battling game from Trinket Studios, will arrive on October 7 for PlayStation 5, Switch, and PC.

Trinket Studios made a splash with 2017’s Battle Chef Brigade, which mixed side-scrolling action with a match-3 puzzle system to portray a fantasy cooking competition. Similarly, Battle Suit Aces also blends several genres and concepts; in a card-fighting RPG, you follow the USS Zephyr and its crew through a planet-hopping voyage across the stars to try and stop a looming, universe-endangering threat.

Card battles play out on a board, where you can deploy your team of mechs, pilots, and drones to combat the enemy, trying to strike through their lines and destroy their base before they do the same. Between missions, you’ll be able to recruit and get to know your crewmates, as well as upgrade their mech suits.

Trinket is planning numerous story missions driven by both the plot and your recruited cast of characters, as well as a story influenced by the factions you support and the relationships you build. Different Factions can also help you lean into your chosen playstyle, too, opting for specific methods of crushing your enemies with your small army of pilot pals and giant mecha.

No word on exact pricing just yet, but Trinket Studios has confirmed it will launch Battle Suit Aces on PlayStation 5, Switch, and PC via Steam.

The new Street Fighter movie lands in theaters next October

by admin September 5, 2025

The new Street Fighter movie has been given a release date of October 16, 2026. Kitao Sakurai is directing the project and a few generic plot details have been disclosed. The story will be set in 1993, a nod to the year Street Fighter II was released in arcades, and will have familiar characters from the game uncovering “a deadly conspiracy” in the midst of all their street fighting.

It seems safe to expect a fair bit of camp in a Street Fighter project, and that bears out in some of the casting. Andrew Koji will play Ryu; he’s had several past action roles such as Bullet Train and TV series Warrior, so that feels like a solid choice. Noah Centineo is taking a break from his work in Netflix rom-coms (notably To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and its sequels) to play Ken. Newcomer Callina Liang, who only has a few credits to date, will play Chun-li. David Dastmalchian will be filling the great Raul Julia’s shoes (and oversized hat) as M. Bison.

Then things really get wacky. Curtis Jackson (who you know as rapper 50 Cent) is playing Balrog and country artist Orville Peck is Vega. Jason Momoa has been cast as Blanka, while WWE wrestler Cody Rhodes has even been chosen to play Guile. This could be absolute gold or absolute trash or possibly both at the same time.
