Oblivion Remastered Drops To Mixed Review Status On Steam

by admin September 9, 2025

When The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion got its fancy new remaster earlier this year, fans of Bethesda’s open-world RPGs, myself included, were elated at the return of this vintage classic.

Sadly, the enthusiasm wasn’t made to last. As seems befitting of its origins as a Bethesda-developed game, Oblivion Remastered is plagued by bugs and crashes on PC, especially following its 1.2 update which has ticked off enough players to see its Recent Reviews status on Steam sink to the dreaded pale orange “Mixed” designation. Recent reviews cite quizzical issues with performance across the board, crashes, unfair difficulty scaling, and frustration with Unreal Engine 5, a sentiment only becoming more and more common.

“I stopped counting the crashes,” reads one review taking aim at crashes encountered whenever trying to sleep or skip time in the game. “I really want to recommend this game,” starts another, “but I can’t due to technical issues and performance.” The same review cites the “few and far in between” patches the game has received, and the recent 1.2 update certainly hasn’t helped. “Started playing at launch with mods,” writes another reviewer, “and the game was perfectly fine to me. Came back this week and can’t for the life of me find out how to fix the “gpu crash dump triggered” crash.”

Frustration over performance is certainly one of the louder sentiments among Steam reviewers, especially with the remaster exhibiting the well-known stuttering issues seen in other Unreal Engine 5 games. But as another reviewer points out, not all the issues are unique to the new version. “Old 2006 Oblivion bugs have been faithfully ported over to the 2025 remaster,” they write. “I was shocked to find issues, look them up online for [a] workaround, and [saw] these were the exact same bugs from the 2006 game.”

Speaking for myself, the wildly inconsistent framerate and stuttering have definitely meant that I’ve spent considerably less time with the gorgeous remake of Bethesda’s 2006 open-world RPG than I was hoping to. Bummer!

Shiba Inu (SHIB): Ready to Fade Into Oblivion? XRP: Final Stand, Cardano (ADA) Bulls: Price Collapse Is One Move Away

by admin September 4, 2025

The market is on the verge of exiting the consolidation stage, with Shiba Inu, XRP and Cardano being on verge of their local formations that should boost volatility and push either asset into their next stage.

Shiba Inu at crossroads

With price action indicating the possibility of a significant breakdown, Shiba Inu is at a crucial crossroads. The token is stuck inside a narrowing triangle and is currently trading at about $0.0000123, but the overall structure is bearish.

Due to buyers’ inability to maintain momentum above resistance levels, each bounce has been weaker than the last. The consistent drop in trading volume is the most concerning indication. Volume has been declining since early August, which suggests that traders’ interest and involvement are waning.

SHIB/USDT Chart by TradingView

Declining volume during consolidation frequently precedes strong breakouts in cryptocurrency markets, however, since SHIB is already under pressure, the likelihood of a breakdown rather than a recovery is higher.

Technically speaking, SHIB will encounter resistance right away in the range of $0.0000130-$0.0000132, and then the 200-day moving average close to $0.0000139. Every upward attempt has been capped for weeks at these levels. Support for the downside is located just above $0.0000120. The next target might be $0.0000110 or even $0.0000100, a level that runs the risk of adding another zero to SHIB’s valuation if it significantly breaks below this.

Additionally, a classic indicator of deteriorating market structure, the descending trendline from the recent highs, is still forcing lower peaks. Bearish momentum will probably prevail unless SHIB can break out above that line with significant volume. That is, there is a genuine chance of oblivion.

In addition to possibly correcting further, SHIB runs the risk of becoming irrelevant for traders seeking stronger momentum plays if support gives way while volume keeps declining.

XRP’s last test

It appears that XRP is nearing a final stand at its current price. The token is currently trading at about $2.83, just above the 100-day EMA at $2.77, which serves as the crucial line of defense. If XRP is unable to maintain this zone, it may fall toward $2.50 and ultimately the psychological $2.00 level.

The symmetrical triangle pattern that had been supporting the price since mid-August is clearly broken in the chart. XRP was forced below the lower trendline by sellers, and although it has stabilized for the time being, momentum is still brittle. A clear close below $2.77 would validate the bearish trend.

The pattern in the volume adds to the uncertainty. The steady decline in trading volume is frequently an indication that sellers are worn out, and that bearish pressure is abating. However, low volume can also indicate fund outflows and disinterest, making XRP more susceptible to steeper drops when liquidity evaporates.

XRP has some breathing room for a recovery, as the RSI, which is currently hovering around 44 and reflecting neutral-to-weak momentum, does not yet exhibit any bullish divergence. Regaining $2.95-$3.00 is crucial for bulls. Strength would only be indicated by a persistent return above $3.00, which would pave the way for $3.10-$3.20.

XRP might still bounce back and reenter a consolidation range if support remains at the 100-day EMA. But if it fails, sentiment quickly shifts against it, making the path to $2.00 much more likely. This is a make-or-break situation for XRP investors for the time being.

Cardano’s patience

Cardano is putting its holders’ patience to the test once more. After weeks of losing momentum, the token is currently trading at a pivotal level, with bulls finding it difficult to maintain control. According to the short-term technical picture, the 100-day EMA and the crucial $0.80 support zone are both in the vicinity of ADA.

There is still hope for a recovery in ADA despite the negative undertones. The $0.80 area has previously shown itself to be resilient, serving as a base for several recoveries. Buyers can continue on their current trajectory toward $0.90 and $1.00 if they can defend this level once more.

You Might Also Like

A psychological shift would be signaled by a breakout above $1, which might draw momentum traders and investors who had been sidelined back into the market.

However, volume trends are not very promising. Everyday trading activity has decreased, indicating a general decline in enthusiasm. This makes ADA susceptible because, when markets turn risk-off, a lack of conviction can hasten downward pressure. However, these quiet periods frequently come before explosive moves, so the next sessions are very important.

The indecision is highlighted by the RSI, close to 48, which is in neutral territory and does not indicate oversold or overbought conditions. This implies that ADA has some leeway.

In general, the market is struggling, as there isn’t much of bearish support coming in and the majority of investors are bracing themselves for multiple breakdowns, especially if Bitcoin fails to deliver in the next few weeks.

Skyblivion project lead says release date reveal’s finally getting “closer”, as Oblivion remake mod shows off revamped intro

by admin August 31, 2025

Watch out, there’s a goblin over there! Have you dispatched him with a deceased Blade’s rusty blade? Good, we can now keep trekking through the revamped Imperial sewers dungeon that unofficial Oblivion remake Skyblivion’s devs have just shown off.

The massive Skyrim mod’s getting ever closer to the release its creators have pencilled in for later this year. Despite that looming, they’ve not opted to skip what’s become an annual cameo at fan-run Skyrim modding showcase Creation Mod Con, alongside a bunch of other in-the-works Elder Scrolls remake projects and add-ons.

I spoke to Skyblivion project lead Kyle ‘Rebelzize’ Rebel ahead of Creation Mod Con about where the modders are at in terms of announcing the mod’s full release date. “Progress is generally good, volunteer based projects are always a challenge due to people sometimes dropping out or not having as much time to contribute as in the past,” he told me. “To work around that we try as much as possible to keep the project a bit flexible and change our MVP (minimum viable product) according to the team’s capability. I’d say recent developments made us come closer to a potential date announcement, but we will be able to share more about that at a later date.”

The team also revealed that in addition to the GOG release they announced back in June, a release via Nexus Mods is also locked in and there are plans to offer the mod for free via Steam too. I’m intrigued to see how that last one might differ from the other two.

Anyway, the modders showed off the opening 15 minutes of Skyblivion in this latest showcase. Big spoiler alert – the sequence sees some youths in hoodies harass Patrick Stewart into freeing Nirn’s ugliest prisoner before departing to go and voice a sentient poo in the Emoji Movie several years down the line.

I’m not joking about it being Patrick Stewart that does this, as shown a recent dev diary, Skyblivion’s Uriel Septim is his regal spitting image. As for the iconic series of corridors in which he’s shanked up while you decide whether you’re going to default to a sneak build for the hundredth time, Skyblivion’s devs said they’ve opted to keep things “closer to the original experience” at the start so players can get up to speed with the mod’s combo of Skyrim and Oblivion mechanics.

Though, lest you forget this is remake rather than a remaster, something the modders have understandably been keen to stress since the official Oblivion remaster rocked up through a flaming gate earlier this year, there are plenty of the sort of tweaks and touches that’ve left me generally more curious to play this interpretation than Bethesda and Virtuos’ efforts.

As you battle through the caves, there are goblin cave paintings and brief glimpses of the White-Gold Tower to ensure the background’s more than a plain brown mush. They’re subtle elements, designed by modders Anna Khudorenko and Penrutet respectively, but I’m hoping they’ll keep the experience feeling a bit fresher than the remaster’s intentionally minimalistic reskinning.

That said, the fresh addition I dug most from what the modders showed off here is the first look at the Imperial Mausoleum, a hall in the Arboretum where Emperor Stewart’s body will now be interred once he meets his demise. The Skyblivion crew tell RPS this was designed by Gabriele Floris, aka Kazuhide. They’ve lent their two architecture degrees to shaping the mod’s version of Cyrodiil’s capital, with real life mock-ups for a restoration of the Roman Emperor Augustus’ mausoleum being cited as the inspiration for Uriel’s resting place.

This Septim tomb’s just one aspect of what you can expect from the mod’s total revamp of the city. “We’ve really set out to entirely remake the Imperial City to be the grand cosmopolitan city it is known as in lore – that means every district is substantially larger and more detailed,” Rebel tells me.

Skyblivion’s still looking for volunteers with the skills to help get it over the line.

Sorry, Oblivion Remastered: dabbing, twerking, and the griddy are now unleashable on command in you

by admin August 30, 2025

Are you sitting down, Oblivion Remastered? It’s alright. I’ve just got…some news I need to tell you. There’s no easy way to say this. A modder’s decided to put a bunch of Fortnitey emotes and dances inside you.

We can see the likes of dabs, the NaeNae, and even a stanky legg on the scans. They’re cranking it, spanking that, and Snoop Dogging all over your internal organs too. There’s nothing we could have done. That surgery which ported you from 2006 to 2025 increased the risk of this drastically, but how else were 12 year olds supposed to learn about the need to CLOSE SHUT THE JAWS OF OBLIVION?

We could rage against the cause of these symptoms, modder CosmicBoogaloo with their Dance and Emote Animation Pack. We could curse them in the name of the divines, of the Aedra, or even the Daedra. We could subjugate ourselves before Dagon himself, calling on his lust for revolution to grant us the malign powers required to reverse this regrettable chain of events.

We could crusade with the fury of Pelinal Whitestrake against any and all who download the mod, and go on to press one of the keys it assigns a Fortnitey dance or emote to. We could cast their characters, mid-subtle dab or weird bottomless twerk, into the fiery pits of The Deadlands, where they’d inevitably float around going ‘UGGGH’, ‘OOOOAGGHH’, and ‘NYYYYUUGGHHH’.

Watch on YouTube

We could outlaw its 19 emotes and 20 dances, including the ability to make it rain despite the fact that this province lacks paper money and criss crosses you can dougie into a running man before movin’ like Bernie. We could instruct every legion guard to stop violators of this anti-taunting legislation with deadly force. We could yell from the summit of the White-Gold Tower: ‘You there in the Arena district, cease flexing those muscles and woohooing at once, or else incur the wrath of mighty Akatosh!’

We could do all of that, but it wouldn’t matter. Those who wish to use this profane mod have likely already grabbed UE4SS and Simple BP Mod Loader.

The dabbage is irreversible.

Actor Terence Stamp, who played General Zod in Superman and Mankar Camoran in The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, has died

by admin August 17, 2025

As reported by the BBC, the family of Terence Stamp has confirmed that the actor died on Sunday morning at the age of 87. In Stamp’s long and illustrious career, the actor had some notable videogame performances, including the Prophet of Truth in Halo, and Mankar Camoran in The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion.

Stamp was born to a working class London family in 1938, and first rose to popularity in the 1960s, once even being considered to replace Sean Connery as James Bond. Stamp is perhaps best known today for the second act of his career, where he made a mark as a versatile character actor. Stamp played General Zod opposite Christopher Reeve in the first two Superman movies in 1978 and 1980.

Stamp had a small number of videogame appearances in his career, most notably in Halo 3 and The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion. Stamp was one of a number of famous actors who lent their voices to Oblivion, including Sir Patrick Stewart, Sean Bean, and Lynda Carter. Stamp’s performance as Mankar Camoran can once again be heard in Virtuous’ remaster of Oblivion, as well as the upcoming Skyblivion mod remake.

In the documentary, The Making of Oblivion, Stamp can be seen working in the booth, delivering some of his lines as Camoran and receiving direction from longtime Elder Scrolls lead, Todd Howard. Though Stamp says in the documentary that he had only gotten the FedEx of the script the night before recording and that he was less familiar with this “area of performance,” his delivery of Camoran remains a highlight of the game.

“Superman 1 and 2, kinda my formative years, when I was six or seven. Terence Stamp is General Zod, and he has a great line in Superman 2, where he gets Superman to kneel,” Howard explained in the documentary. “‘Son of Jor-El, kneel before Zod!’ And my brother would always do that but change ‘Zod’ to ‘Todd.’ Just over the years, one of those things.”

Naturally, in-between recording Cameron’s commanding and esoteric monologues to the Mythic Dawn cult, Stamp graciously delivered a menacing “Kneel before Todd!” For Howard and his brother.

Stamp was reportedly in talks to reprise his role as transgender drag queen Bernadette Bassenger in a distant sequel to the 1994 film, The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. According to IMDB, his final role will remain an appearance in Edgar Wright’s 2021 film, Last Night in Soho.
