BTC News: Hard Fork Chatter Disputed

by admin September 27, 2025

Debates over Bitcoin’s future are nothing new, but this week the discussion took on a sharper edge. One of Bitcoin’s long-serving developers was at the center of a storm about immutability, censorship and what it means to “save” the protocol.

The controversy escalated on Sept. 25, following an article published by The Rage claiming to reveal that Luke Dashjr, maintainer of the Bitcoin Knots software, advocates a hard fork that would install a trusted multisig committee with power to retroactively alter the blockchain, review transactions and remove illicit content.

A blockchain hard fork is a permanent divergence from the previous version of the blockchain software, requiring all participants to upgrade to the new protocol because the new and old versions are incompatible.

The piece cited purported leaked text messages in which Dashjr allegedly warned: “Either Bitcoin dies or we have to trust someone.”

The story spread across X, drawing hundreds of thousands of views and intensifying a long-running philosophical rift: should Bitcoin remain a neutral settlement layer, or should developers actively filter what counts as legitimate use of the network?

Dashjr rejected the claims outright. “The truth is I have not proposed a hardfork or anything of the sort, and these bad actors are just grasping at straws to slander me and try to undermine my efforts to save Bitcoin again,” he wrote.

The Rage responded with a meme to the effect of demanding to know who sent the leaked messages that its story shared.

Dashjr repeated his position multiple times over the following 24 hours. “Nope, nothing changed. Nobody is calling for a hard fork still.” he posted. In another reply, he underlined: “There is no hard fork.”

The Knots vs. Core Divide

Behind the dispute lies a deeper divide between Dashjr’s Bitcoin Knots project and the broader Bitcoin Core software used by most of the network.

Knots enforces tighter transaction policies, including blocking non-financial data such as Ordinals inscriptions and Runes tokens. Dashjr and his supporters argue such measures protect Bitcoin’s monetary integrity and safeguard it from regulatory risks. Core developers have historically taken a more permissive approach, tolerating non-standard data as long as it does not break consensus.

The alleged hard fork proposal cut to the heart of that tension. For Dashjr’s critics, it seemed to confirm fears that his vision requires compromising Bitcoin’s principle of immutability. For his defenders, the leak was an opportunistic smear designed to derail the case for stronger spam filters.

Among his defenders was Udi Wertheimer, co-founder of Taproot Wizards, a Bitcoin Ordinals project, so one which most would assume embodies everyting to which Dashjr is opposed.

“Not a Luke fan but this is a hit piece and fake news. He is not proposing this,” Wertheimer posted on X, referring to the supposed hard fork plan.

“I’m (obviously) not on Luke’s side but…this is just a sloppy low quality propaganda piece,” he wrote.

Wertheimer concluded that what Dasjhr’s leaked messages were a hypothetical discussion about using zero-knowledge proofs to allowing Knots nodes to avoid downloading “spam.”

“This is, as always, a nothing burger,” he concluded. “It’s pretty obvious to me that this proposal never gets implemented, and even if it did, it does not censor the network and does not split the network, and remains fully compatible with core.”

It’s worth noting that over the past 24 hours, BTC$109,485.29 slipped 2.2% to trade at around $109,000, a drop of over 5.5% in the last week.

While there’s no direct evidence linking this dip to the controversy over Dashjr’s alleged plans, the timing is hardly helpful. In crypto markets, uncertainty alone can amplify downward pressure and rumors of protocol upheaval tend to stoke exactly that.

Petit Planet: Key details and latest news, summarized by humans

by admin September 26, 2025

It’s announcement after announcement with HoYoverse lately, and just on the heels of its Honkai: Nexus Anima reveal, the publisher has introduced Petit Planet. It’s a painfully cute, Animal Crossing-inspired life sim that takes yet another HoYo game setting to the stars. I’m beginning to sense a theme here.

From the looks of it, Petit Planet gives us all a little corner of the galaxy to decorate and nourish. Over time, new neighbors show up and shape the world with you. Their friendship impacts how your planet grows, and you’ll do all of the day-to-day basics like gardening, crafting, and decorating while seeing your little cosmic community thrive.

Petit Planet release date details and speculation

Does Petit Planet have a release date?

No, there’s no release date for Petit Planet yet. HoYoverse hasn’t even given us a general window yet, so all we can do is speculate and look at some of the developer’s historical timelines.

Its more recent games, like Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero, saw around two years between their first reveal trailers and their release dates. None of this is to say we’ve got a long wait for Petit Planet, but we’ve at least got some idea of HoYo’s typical cycle.

So what happened to Astaweave Haven? Is it Petit Planet?

Astaweave Haven was never officially announced, though a 2024 VG247 report highlights social media accounts registered in China suggesting that something could have existed with that name. Eagle-eyed fans on Reddit later spotted Astaweave accounts being renamed to Petit Planet, and nothing more came of the name Astaweave, so my assumption is that it was a temporary title they’ve since replaced.

How to get into the Petit Planet beta

HoYoverse announced a Petit Planet beta test as part of its big reveal, with sign-ups live on September 25, 2025. Last we checked, HoYoverse hadn’t confirmed a closing date, but registration for the developer’s recent Honkai: Nexus Anima beta remained open for almost two weeks.

  • Visit the Petit Planet official website and log in with your HoYoverse account
  • Select Beta Sign Up and complete the questionnaire
  • Note this isn’t the same thing as the Pre-Registration option

The questionnaire is a bit long, but the HoYoverse FAQ notes your only other way in is through lucking out and winning test access through community events. There’s no date for when Petit Planet’s beta begins, either, but keep an eye on your inbox in case HoYo gives you its blessing.

Is pre-registration for Petit Planet open?

Yes, you can pre-register for Petit Planet now through the same site. There’s no word yet on what rewards you’ll get for signing up early, but they’re typically a handful of goodies like in-game currency and other extra resources. Those freebies are typically just for those who go through the pre-registration process, so it may be too late to cash in if you wait until launch.

Petit Planet trailers

Petit Planet – Cozy Cosmos Trailer | Weave Your Dreams Beneath the Stars – YouTube

Watch On

The first Petit Planet trailer dropped in the midst of the 2025 Tokyo Game Show. If you’ve played a certain other cozy life sim from Nintendo, then HoYo’s project looks familiar. I probably shouted “oh my god, that’s like Animal Crossing!” after every few seconds. But I mean that in a good way—Animal Crossing is why I still own a Switch.

It certainly seems to come with all of the series staples, with clips showing off its neighborly woodland creatures, resource gathering, and socializing with other players. My only hope is that it brings us twists on Animal Crossing’s features, or explores some of them more deeply. If that interior scene around the 1:50 mark is any indication of how much I can customize my home, then count me in.

Petit Planet characters, setting, and gameplay

Every Petit Planet neighbor revealed so far

I reckon calling them villagers makes less sense since you get a whole planet to yourself, so

Petit Planet is calling its cute little guys neighbors. As you spruce up your world, neighbors “can connect their home planets” with yours, and you’ll deepen your friendship from there.

Befriending your neighbors is done through “daily activities to unlock deeper connections,” which involve gift giving, regular conversations, and distinct interactions. The few we’ve seen so far are cute as a button, but I’m crossing my fingers for more variance. Someone has got to deliver on the return of sassy Animal Crossing characters since Nintendo won’t do it.

Petit Planet’s official site names a few of its bigger personalities:

  • Yunguo (Cultivator)
  • Isaki (Battle Bee Trainer)
  • Medowlyn (Plushie Designer)
  • Frostia (Mystic Scholar)

I’m assuming some of the Petit Planet neighbors we see in its reveal trailer are a mixture of mainstay NPCs (think Tom Nook or Isabelle) and surprise residents (like those guys I hit with a net until they leave).

More Petit Planet features

It’s not all about making fuzzy friends. From HoYo’s first announcement and trailer, it looks like Petit Planet will sport many of the features seen in other life sims and all the life sim cousins like Hello Kitty Island Adventure or Disney Dreamlight Valley. Highlights include:

  • Activities like planting, fishing, mining, cook, crafting, and beachcombing
  • Decorating your own interiors and outdoor spaces
  • Collecting themed furniture
  • Exploration through a “Starsea Voyage” to discover new places and collectables
  • The “Galactic Bazaar” social hub where you can meet other players

BNB Token News: Fees to be Cut

by admin September 25, 2025

Validators on BNB Chain have proposed lowering the minimum gas price from 0.1 Gwei to 0.05 Gwei while reducing block intervals from 750 milliseconds to 450 milliseconds.

The goal is to drive average transaction costs down to around $0.005, making the network competitive with low-cost chains such as Solana and Base.

The proposal follows a decision In April 2024 to cut gas from 3 Gwei to 1 Gwei, and again in May it was cut to 0.1 Gwei, with fees dropping by 75% as a result.

“As long as staking APY remains above 0.5%, BNB Chain should strive to have the lowest gas fees possible,” the proposal notes, framing ultra-low costs as a core principle of network growth.

Transactions per second compared with Base (TokenTerminal)

The timing of the proposal is key; on-chain trading activity is booming with decentralized exchange Aster emerging as the breakout trading venue.

According to CoinMarketCap, the exchange processed $29.37 billion in perpetual futures volume over the past 24 hours. Data from DefiLlama shows Aster generating $7.2 million in daily revenue, more than double HyperLiquid’s $2.79 million.

That strength is mirrored in their tokens. ASTR has surged 37% in the past 24 hours, lifting its market capitalization from $931 million a week ago to $3.74 billion. By contrast, HYPE has shed billions in value, falling from $14.88 billion to $11.73 billion.

Trading-related transactions already dominate BNB Chain’s activity, rising from 20% at the start of 2025 to 67% by June. The proposal notes that a lower cost environment could drive further growth.

BNB token, meanwhile, is down by 1% in the past 24 hours but still remains above a key psychological level at $1,000 with daily volume topping $3.8 billion.

Bitcoin Set For ‘Massive Political News’ Tuesday: Dennis Porter

by admin September 22, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

Dennis Porter, CEO and co-founder of Satoshi Action Fund, spent much of Sunday, September 21, stoking anticipation for what he called a watershed moment for Bitcoin policy in the United States, promising “MASSIVE POLITICAL NEWS COMING FOR BITCOIN TUESDAY THAT WILL RESHAPE THE TRAJECTORY OF BITCOIN POLITICS. THIS WILL BE A DEFINING MOMENT.”

In a late-US-hours video posted to X, Porter told followers that the announcement, to be unveiled during a coordinated X Space “with one of the largest shows in the space,” is intended to “potentially reorder the political conversation for Bitcoin across the country.”

What To Expect From The Bitcoin News On Tuesday?

Porter framed the reveal as part of a broader effort to move US policy onto “a better pathway” and away from what he described as a “dangerous pathway,” adding that the initiative is designed to build durable momentum for federal-level legislation.

“If you really want to see something like a strategic Bitcoin reserve (SBR) bill get passed at the federal level, if you want to see Bitcoin rights get passed at the federal level, then you’re going to want to pay attention to what’s happening on Tuesday,” Porter said. He stressed expectations should be political rather than market-moving in the short term: “This is not going to be some country buying 10 million Bitcoin.”

Porter positioned Tuesday’s reveal as a foundational step toward converting executive-branch direction into statute. “If you live by executive order, you’ll die by executive order,” he said, arguing that any US SBR must ultimately be codified by Congress to survive future administrations.

The comments arrive in a year when state-level experiments—and federal debate—over public-sector BTC holdings have accelerated. In May, New Hampshire became the first US state to enact a SBR law, authorizing the treasurer to allocate up to a fixed share of certain public funds into Bitcoin under specified conditions. The Granite State was followed by Arizona and Texas.

Many other states have introduced bills or are considering legislation for SBRs. Some bills have passed out of committee; others have failed to advance or were vetoed. For example, proposals in Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, and Florida have been brought forward; however, they have not succeeded into law.

Satoshi Action Fund, the advocacy group Porter leads, was a primary architect of this state-by-state strategy. Its public materials and social-media profiles claim involvement in “9 bills in 8 different states,” alongside grassroots campaigns aimed at mobilizing constituents behind pro-BTC policy. Porter reiterated that record on Sunday while thanking “over 2,500” supporters and the lawmakers who “put their careers on the line” to advance the cause.

IN LESS THAN 48 HOURS BITCOIN POLITICS WILL NEVER BE THE SAME — WHAT TO EXPECT. pic.twitter.com/h71TdBtGPl

— Dennis Porter (@Dennis_Porter_) September 22, 2025

While Porter did not preview the specific contours of Tuesday’s announcement, his remarks outlined two immediate objectives: entrenching “Bitcoin rights” at both state and federal levels, and advancing a statutory framework for a US SBR. He suggested Satoshi Action has been working “quietly” on multiple “stealth projects” to “reshape the conversation and make sure that we generate more political momentum for Bitcoin,” signaling that further disclosures will follow the initial reveal.

For now, the only clear facts are those Porter put on the record: the announcement will be political in nature; it will aim to “set the foundation” for a federal strategic-reserve bill and for nationwide “Bitcoin rights”; and it will be unveiled on Tuesday, September 23, during a high-profile X Space. Everything else—what the initiative specifically entails, who is backing it, and how quickly it could translate into draft legislation—will be answered when the details are made public. As Porter put it, “This is going to be a very big piece in making sure that we get to that final place with a strategic Bitcoin reserve bill.”

At press time, BTC traded at $114,264.

TRENDING RUMORS

– Barcelona have identified Manchester City striker Erling Haaland as their dream replacement for 37-year-old Robert Lewandowski, says Football Insider. Haaland, 25, has scored 130 goals in 151 games since arriving from Borussia Dortmund in 2022 and he signed a new nine-and-a-half-year contract January. City aren’t looking to let the Norway international leave, and it would take an offer of £150 million to start talks, which Barcelona would need to raise by letting other players go.

– Crystal Palace center back Marc Guéhi has now told his advisors that his heart is set on a move to Real Madrid, after his deadline day move to Liverpool fell through, says by The Mirror. Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konaté already looks set to leave as a free agent in the summer, with Los Blancos one of the clubs interested in the France international, but they could also land Guehi for nothing. Elsewhere, Marca reports that Bayern Munich center back Dayot Upamecano has offered himself to Real Madrid as a free agent with his contract also expiring in the summer.

– Toulouse goalkeeper Guillaume Restes is the latest name being considered by AC Milan as they look into possible replacements for Mike Maignan in the summer, as reported by Calciomercato. Cagliari’s Elia Caprile and Parma’s Zion Suzuki are also among the candidates and will be closely monitored throughout the season. Even so, the Rossoneri haven’t given up on keeping Maignan past his contract’s expiration in 2026, despite renewal negotiations having stalled for several months.

Transfer rumors, news: Man United move for Forest’s Anderson

by admin September 20, 2025

Manchester United are set to move for Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson in January, while Liverpool could be set to enter the race for Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba. Join us for the latest transfer news and rumors from around the globe.

TRENDING RUMORS

– Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson has emerged as a January target for Manchester United, according to TEAMtalk. With winter moves for Brighton and Hove Albion’s Carlos Baleba and Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton deemed unlikely, Anderson is regarded as a potential solution to United’s current midfield crisis. Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim is set to be given the funds to try and sign Anderson for around £70 million, although Forest might not be willing to let him go following his impressive start to the season. The 22-year-old made his international debut for England earlier this month, starring in a pair of FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia.

– Liverpool could be set to enter the race for Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba, TEAMtalk has revealed. The Cameroon international has been heavily linked with Manchester United this summer, but it is reported that their Premier League rivals are now also tracking his progress. A move for Baleba in January isn’t expected to be sanctioned, as Brighton remain “extremely reluctant” to let him go midway through the season. Nevertheless, an offer in excess of £100 million may be enough to secure a deal for the talented 21-year-old next summer.

2 Related

– AC Milan are plotting a €15 million move for Udinese defender Thomas Kristensen in January, says Gazzetta dello Sport. The 6-foot-6 Denmark international has impressed so far this season, and will face off against Milan this weekend where scouts will be watching. Kristensen, 23, was also wanted by Aston Villa this summer, although the Premier League side didn’t officially lodge a bid, and he is under contract at Udinese until June 2028.

– Manchester United pulled out of a move to sign goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma before he chose Manchester City, says the Daily Telegraph. Donnarumma, 26, moved from Paris Saint-Germain for a fee of around £26m in the summer, but the total financial package including his wages would have been around £130m and that was too much for United.

– Newcastle United remain interested in Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, says Football Insider. While the Red Devils are unlikely to sanction a loan deal in January, it is thought a “lucrative” offer for a permanent transfer could soften their stance. Mainoo is targeting regular first-team football this season, with the 2026 FIFA World Cup on the horizon. Mainoo, 20, was left out of Thomas Tuchel’s most recent England squad.

– However, Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic is not being considered as a possible replacement for Kane. (Bild)

– Real Madrid and Chelsea are set to ramp up a move for AZ Alkmaar midfielder Kees Smit, 19, amid interest from Barcelona and Man United. (Defensa Central)

– Vinicius Junior is “upset” after being left out of the Real Madrid team in midweek, and a departure “can’t be ruled out” if the situation gets any worse. Talks over a new contract have been put on hold in recent months, with his current deal expiring in 2027. (AS)

– Arsenal center back William Saliba is an option for Real Madrid in 2026, despite having brought in Dean Huijsen, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alvaro Carreras to strengthen the backline this summer. There are “various names on the agenda” but says one of them is Saliba, with Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konaté being a “cheap alternative” as he’ll be out of contract next year. (AS)

– Real Madrid are scouting Inter Milan striker Francesco Pio Esposito, who has drawn comparisons to Joselu within the club. (Defensa Central)

Bitcoin Price (BTC) News: Escalator Up, Elevator Down

by admin September 20, 2025

Markets take the escalator up and elevator down goes an old Wall Street shibboleth, and crypto is following that script this week, with several days of hard-earned gains more than wiped away in Friday trade.

Nearly pushing through the $118,000 level at one point on Thursday after the Federal Reserve one day earlier trimmed interest rates for the first time this year, bitcoin BTC$115,664.14 has pulled back to $115,600, down 1.5% over the past 24 hours and now essentially flat over the past seven days.

Ether (ETH) has pulled back from the $4,750 area to $4,460, lower by 2.9% over the past 24 hours and now off 1.5% week-over-week.

Amid ETF excitement and growing institutional adoption, the two hottest crypto majors this week were solana SOL$239.03 and dogecoin DOGE$0.2659. Both, however, have returned to flat over the last seven days, with SOL lower by 4.5% over the past 24 hours and DOGE down 6.3%.

Technical factors suggest reason for optimism

In a world where U.S. stocks have been putting in record highs on a daily basis, it may seem that bitcoin has failed to gain much ground of late. Its price action over the past few weeks, though, has formed a clear ascending triangle pattern, highlighted by a series of higher lows, while pressing against horizontal resistance near $118,000.

Each pullback since early September has found support at a rising trendline, signaling steady accumulation and a bullish bias among traders. The market is currently consolidating in the $115,700 around the rising support line.

For now, the higher lows keep the advantage tilted toward bulls, with traders closely watching the $118,000 ceiling.

ETH News: Fusaka Coming in December

by admin September 19, 2025

Ethereum core developers have confirmed a tentative roadmap for the network’s next major upgrade, Fusaka, during Thursday’s All Core Developers Consensus (ACDC) call.

The upgrade, designed to further scale the blockchain, is now scheduled for early December, with follow-up changes aimed at more than doubling blob capacity in the weeks after.

Before the Fusaka upgrade reaches Ethereum’s mainnet, developers will push the code through three public test networks in October.

If those tests proceed smoothly, the mainnet activation is targeted for Dec. 3. Developers noted that exact epoch numbers and timing will be confirmed in the coming days.

Blob Capacity Expansion via BPO Forks

While Fusaka itself won’t immediately change blob parameters, the call outlined a phased approach to scaling blob availability through so-called Blob Parameter Only (BPO) forks.

One week after Fusaka BPO-1 will raise the blog target/max from 6/9 to 10/15, then one week later BPO-2 will push the limit to 14/21.

These incremental changes are based on performance observed on the Fusaka Devnet-5 and are intended to safely expand capacity without requiring client-side software updates.

Blobs, introduced in March’s Dencun upgrade, allow Ethereum to store large amounts of rollup transaction data more efficiently, reducing costs for users of layer-2 scaling networks.

Looking Ahead

Ethereum researcher Christine Kim, who reported the call highlights on X, noted that additional BPOs remain on the roadmap for Fusaka, although only the first two were scheduled in this week’s call.

A detailed timeline of the Fusaka and BPO activations is available via Ethereum’s public notes.

The Fusaka rollout follows May’s Pectra upgrade, which introduced validator staking changes and new account abstraction features, underscoring Ethereum’s ongoing push to optimize scalability and network efficiency.

TRENDING RUMORS

– Manchester City are considering a shock move for Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, according to TEAMtalk. The report adds that the 20-year-old is also on the radar of Chelsea and Newcastle United. Mainoo wanted to leave Old Trafford on loan in January due to his frustration over a lack of game time under Ruben Amorim, but the Red Devils were unwilling to let that happen. TEAMtalk reports that England international Mainoo, who has another two years to run on his existing contract at Old Trafford, could be worth as much as £70 million on the transfer market.

– Juventus general manager Damien Comolli will look to see if a move for Bernardo Silva is possible when the midfielder’s Manchester City contract expires in the summer, Tuttosport reports. The Bianconeri have taken inspiration from AC Milan and Napoli’s moves for Luka Modric and Kevin De Bruyne respectively. They expect competition for the 31-year-old from clubs in Europe (including his former club Benfica), the United States and the United Arab Emirates and hope the Portugal international will maintain his desire to play at the top level.

This comes with the Liga F club telling PSG they would have to pay the 31-year-old’s release clause for her to leave in the final days of this window. Meanwhile, another Mundo Deportivo report claims that PSG remain fixated on Putellas and could pay her €1 million release clause.

– Following La Gazzetta dello Sport’s report on Real Madrid’s plan to re-sign attacking midfielder Nico Paz from Como, the Italian outlet has given an insight into the clauses that could allow the move to happen. The option to bring back the 21-year-old for €9 miullion has already passed, but they could sign him for €10 million in 2026 or €11 million in 2027, while Los Blancos would also earn half of the fee from a transfer to another club and have the opportunity to match any offers received by Como.

Sell the News? Bitcoin Market Shrugs Off Fed Moves: Analysis

by admin September 17, 2025

In brief

  • The Fed delivered a 25bps cut in an 11–1 vote, but markets reacted with little enthusiasm.
  • Bitcoin slipped 0.69% after briefly touching $117K earlier in the day.
  • Overall market sentiment remains neutral, though predictors on Myriad lean bullish.

Fed fatigue or was it simply priced in all along? Bitcoin is down a paltry 1% today, currently trading at around $115,500, following the Federal Reserve’s widely telegraphed quarter-point rate cut.

The crypto market appears a bit gassed, but if anything, today’s relatively small drop in prices could be interpreted as a classic “buy the rumor, sell the news” event.

The Federal Open Market Committee lowered its benchmark overnight lending rate by a quarter percentage point in an 11-to-1 vote, putting the overnight funds rate in a range between 4.00%-4.25%.

Rate cuts are typically bullish for risk assets, and yet markets appeared to have been pricing in this move for weeks and showed little enthusiasm. Bitcoin, for instance, was unable to hold above the psychologically important $117,000 level after briefly touching it today.

The overall crypto market still sits above $4 trillion, though down less than 1% in the last 24 hours, while the average performance of the top 20 cryptocurrencies has slipped 0.43%, according to data from Coinmarketcap. So, no FOMO just yet from the Fed’s easing. The Crypto Fear and Greed Index remains almost perfectly neutral at 51 points, down 6 points from last week’s greedy mood.

Fed Chair Jerome Powell characterized the cut as “risk management” rather than something more directed at shoring up a weak economy, which may explain the market’s lukewarm response. With a 96% chance of a 25 basis point cut already priced in way before the announcement, traders appear to be executing the classic “buy the rumor, sell the news” playbook.

The political drama surrounding the Fed decision added another layer of uncertainty. Newly installed Governor Stephen Miran—a widely recognized pro-Trump economist who advised him during his previous tenure—was the only policymaker voting against the quarter-point move, instead advocating for an even larger half-point cut.

Bitcoin (BTC) price: The consolidation continues

So what can be gleaned from the Bitcoin charts today?

The daily chart for BTC shows a market in limbo, with price action basically trading sideways since June, but with an ever so slightly upwards trajectory.

Bitcoin opened today at $116,836, but dipped to a low of $114,747 immediately after the Fed’s announcement, before bouncing to its current price for a net loss of less than 1% on the day.

The Relative Strength Index, or RSI, for Bitcoin sits at 58 in neutral to bullish territory. RSI measures price momentum on a scale of 0 to 100, where values above 70 indicate overbought conditions and below 30 suggest oversold levels. Bitcoin has gained a bit of momentum since dropping below its average price over the last 50 days of $110,000 back in late August

The Average Directional Index, or ADX, which measures trend strength regardless of direction, for BTC is currently at 18. For traders, this shows that the market is basically neutral—traders are essentially waiting for a catalyst to establish the next major move. (Anything under 25 tells traders that a trend isn’t really in place.)

This typically means range-bound trading will continue until a breakout occurs hitting a new all-time high or breakdown below $104,000, which is the average price of Bitcoin over the last 200 days.

It’s these exponential moving averages, or EMAs, that offer a glimmer of hope.

Until a few days ago, the 50-day EMA (the average price over the last 50 trading days) and the 200-day EMA started to compress, hinting at potentially bearish times. This bounce has been enough to increase the gap, which means Bitcoin is still in a bullish formation. Slow, yes, but bullish nonetheless.

The key question now is whether the Fed’s signal of two more cuts before year-end will be enough to reignite risk appetite, or if concerns about persistent inflation and political interference at the central bank will keep buyers on the sidelines.

Over on Myriad, predictors are bullish. Users on the prediction market, developed by Decrypt’s parent company Dastan, place the odds at 61% that Bitcoin keeps rising and hits $125K before it drops back down to $105K. They also believe there’s an 80% chance Bitcoin stays above $105K throughout the entire month of September.

Key Levels:

  • Immediate support: $113,700 (EMA50)
  • Strong support: $108,000 (recent consolidation base visible on chart)
  • Immediate resistance: $119,000 (recent rejection zone)
  • Strong resistance: $124,621 (all-time high)
