Huge 89% Reason for Bitcoin Rally Named by Raoul Pal Dwarfs All Others

by admin June 14, 2025

  • 89% of all Bitcoin price action was down to this, per Pal
  • Bitcoin is new bonds, Pompliano says

Crypto expert and investor Raoul Pal has taken to his official X handle to share with his followers a thought about a crucial factor that has been driving the Bitcoin price up in the past two years.

This factor has been driving Bitcoin up since the BTC was above $40,000 in 2023, according to the chart shared by Pal.

89% of all Bitcoin price action was down to this, per Pal

Raoul Pal, a co-founder of Real Vision and a macroeconomic expert, published a chart that tracks down the correlation between Bitcoin price action observed over the past two years and the growth of the global money supply (M2).

M2 has been rising with the Bitcoin price following it closely as the global liquidity has been increasing with trillions of dollars getting printed and injected into the global economy. Pal stated that 89% of Bitcoin’s price action can be explained by this correlation, therefore, the expert added, “by definition almost all ‘news’ and ‘narrative’ is noise.” Bitcoin is debasing the U.S. dollar, Pal believes.

Keeps trucking along, doing its debasement thing… if 89% of all BTC’s price action is explained by Global Liquidity then by definition almost all “news” and “narrative” is noise. Enjoy your weekend… pic.twitter.com/Z16S9CB9Jy

On Friday, the largest cryptocurrency plunged by more that 4% in a matter of hours, falling from above $108,000 to the $103,000 zone. Later, it rebounded by slightly more than 2% but another rollback took place. The Bitcoin price reacted to the escalating military tensions in the Middle East that took place at the end of the week.

Bitcoin is new bonds, Pompliano says

Prominent angel investor who supports Bitcoin, Anthony Pompliano, tweeted today that he believes Bitcoin to be “the new bonds.” Once this concept is accepted, he said, “everything starts to make a lot more sense.”

Once you understand bitcoin is the new bonds, everything starts to make a lot more sense.

— Anthony Pompliano 🌪 (@APompliano) June 14, 2025

His statement aligns with a Forbes article released in April this year, where “BitBonds” are mentioned. The article suggests that U.S. Treasury bonds could be backed by Bitcoin. This would potentially bring down interest costs since a portion of bond proceeds would be tied to Bitcoin’s hard-fixed 21 million supply.

This article stresses the new economic direction taken by the Trump administration after the U.S. president proclaimed Bitcoin to be a strategic reserve asset, signing an executive order to create a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve. It already holds almost 200,000 BTC confiscated from illicit activities in the past few years, particularly, from the Silk Road-linked ones.

Jeff Carlisle covers MLS and the U.S. national team for ESPN FC.

Former United States international midfielder Michael Bradley has been hired as head coach of third-tier MLS Next Pro side New York Red Bulls II, making it the first managerial role in his nascent coaching career.

Bradley, 37, previously served on the staff of Norwegian side Stabaek from October of 2023 to September of 2024 under his father Bob Bradley. More recently, he worked as a “guest coach” with the Canada men’s national team under Jesse Marsch during the June international window.

The move also amounts to a homecoming of sorts for Michael Bradley, given that he broke into the professional ranks in 2004 as a player with the MetroStars, the forerunner of the New York Red Bulls.

“I couldn’t be more excited to come back to where my professional playing career began,” said Bradley. “This is a dream opportunity as a young coach. I’m looking forward to working everyday with this talented group of players, and I’ll give everything to help them take the next step in their careers.

“I’m thankful to the club for the opportunity and can’t wait to get started.”

Bradley is among the more decorated players in USMNT history, earning 151 caps, good for third on the program’s all-time list.

He scored 17 goals at international level and was part of the squads at the 2010 and 2014 World Cups. He was also part of two Gold Cup-winning teams in 2007 and 2017. Bradley was named U.S. Soccer Player of the Year in 2015.

At club level, in addition to his time with the MetroStars, Bradley played for SC Heerenveen, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Aston Villa, Chievo Verona, AS Roma and Toronto FC. While with Toronto, Bradley was part of the side that won a domestic treble in 2017.

“We are excited to welcome Michael to the club,” said New York Red Bulls sporting director Julian de Guzman. “He had an incredible playing career and is one of the greatest American soccer players ever.

“We see him as a promising coaching talent and look forward to supporting his development as he transitions to a career behind the touchline.”

Bradley’s first match in charge will be on June 21 at Truist Point Stadium against Carolina Core FC in MLS Next Pro.

Mindseye launches to clips of ATVs glitchily spaghettifying a bloke named Seb, but a patch is on the way

by admin June 11, 2025

Mindseye, the game from ex-Rockstar president Leslie Benzies-helmed studio Build a Rocket Boy, has arrived. Its launch has gone, er, a bit glitchily, currently landing the game at a mixed reception on Steam. That said, the studio have at least confirmed an update designed to improve Mindseye’s performance is on the way.

If you’re out of the loop, the sort of GTA-ish/Cyberpunk-ish game’s road to release had been plenty weird prior to it breaking cover. Build a Rocket Boy co-CEO Mark Gerhard had seemingly suggested on the game’s Discord server that he believed people were being paid to say negative things about Mindseye, and two other high-profile execs had departed the studio not long before release.

It’s now debuted to mixed Steam reviews and plenty of clips on the socials of players running into glitches or citing issues. The one that’s caught my eye in particular is multiple folks failing a mission because they’ve nudged an NPC named Seb with their ATV and he’s responded by bursting into a spaghettified mess of elongated limbs.

To be fair, being hit by a vehicle moving at speed is generally known to make your body contort in painful-looking ways that it isn’t supposed to, but I’ve yet to see any real life car accidents result into someone’s neck, arms and legs all instantly growing the giraffe length as they roll across the ground.

The Steam reviews also mention issues getting the game to run at a decent clip, with some citing the likes of stuttering, FPS drops, textures flickering, and also enemy corpses which “twitch like ragdoll puppets”.

In response to the day one performance issues, Build a Rocket Boy have said they’ve got a third patch for the game in the works, with a community manager writing the following in a post on the game’s subreddit:

We understand that the current minimum spec requirements are very high, but our engineering team are working around the clock to improve performance on mainstream hardware as well as consoles by integrating the performance improvements in Unreal Engine V5.6. We will provide patch 3 update timing, including these improvements, within the next 24 hours.

They also asked for feedback on the game’s main campaign, and its map editory “Build.Mindseye” mode. I’ll give them a 10/10 solely in the NPC spaghettification department.

Elite Footballers Named in $3.4 Million Crypto Fraud Case

by admin June 11, 2025

In brief

  • Six professional footballers, including World Cup winners, are under investigation for allegedly promoting a crypto project that defrauded investors of at least $3.4 million.
  • Spanish prosecutors allege the Shirtum platform used player endorsements to sell NFTs tied to image rights, but never delivered a working product.
  • Victims say funds were siphoned for personal use while the platform was quietly abandoned, prompting a criminal probe in Barcelona.

Six elite footballers, including World Cup winners and former Barcelona and Sevilla stars, are facing fraud allegations after a crypto company they promoted vanished with millions in investor funds, leaving thousands holding worthless digital tokens.

Barcelona’s Fifth District Court has launched a criminal investigation into a crypto and NFT scheme allegedly fronted by a group of Spanish and Argentine businessmen, with promotional help from the players, according to an El Periodico report.

Filed by 12 victims earlier this year, the case accuses Shirtum Europa SLU and its promoters of defrauding investors out of at least $3.4 million (€3 million) through the sale of non-functional NFTs tied to footballer image rights, purchased with the company’s in-house token, $SHI.

Among those named in the complaint are World Cup winners “Papu” Gómez and Lucas Ocampos, ex-Barca players Ivan Rakitić and Javier Saviola, as well as Nico Pareja and Alberto Moreno.

The alleged masterminds, Argentine businessman David Rozencwaig and Catalan entrepreneurs Manel Ángel Torras, his son Marc Alberto Torras, and Manuel Morillas, are accused of creating a “complex corporate structure” in Spain and Andorra, designed to evade taxes and avoid personal liability.

The complaint includes 13 expert reports and a financial analysis by top economics professor Prosper Lamothe, who describes the company’s structure as deliberately opaque and tax-evasive.

The NFTs were marketed as exclusive digital collectibles, some priced at over $513 (€450), but were never made tradable or supported by a functioning platform.

Shirtum allegedly used players’ reputations to build credibility, presenting them as “founders” and public ambassadors, according to the complaint cited by local reports.

In March 2022, Shirtum claimed it had suffered two massive crypto thefts and was the victim of a hack, yet no police report was ever filed.

Meanwhile, investigators say funds were siphoned for personal use, and the Shirtum platform was quietly abandoned.

The footballers served as promotional faces for the venture, with “Papu” Gómez—a close friend of alleged ringleader David Rozencwaig—allegedly recruiting other players after promoting himself as a company “founder” before systematically erasing all Shirtum evidence from social media alongside his fellow players.

Big names, big losses

“This Shirtum Europa case really shows how tricky things can get with crypto and NFTs,” Mohith Agadi, founder of decentralized fact-checking system Fact Protocol, told Decrypt. “People see big names like football stars and think it’s a safe bet, but that trust can be exploited.”

The Shirtum scandal points to the volatile relationship between Spanish football and crypto partnerships.

A ban on gambling advertising implemented in 2021 prevents La Liga teams from agreeing such deals with betting companies, creating a sponsorship vacuum that crypto firms rushed to fill.

However, this crypto embrace has proven problematic.

Many La Liga clubs have been left with “defaults, complaints, and an experience to forget” after partnerships with crypto sponsors soured, with several Spanish clubs now suing their crypto partners for unpaid sponsorship fees.

As Agadi noted, “Blockchain’s great for tracking transactions, but scammers use it to fake legitimacy too.”

First Steps’ Replaced the Thing On-Set With a Rock Named Jennifer

by admin June 4, 2025

Marvel Studios films are known to use unconventional methods for their character stand-ins and The Fantastic Four: First Steps aims to top the methods that came before. Actor Sean Gunn acted as a stand-in for Bradley Cooper as Guardians of the Galaxy’s Rocket Raccoon throughout various productions, but in a fun turn of events for the Matt Shakman-helmed feature, star Ebon Moss-Bachrach, who plays superhero Ben Grimm, got a different sort of companion to help bring the Thing to life.

Pulling a lot of the weight was “Jennifer”: a rock.

“We went out to the desert and found a rock that looked exactly how we thought the Thing should look,” Shakman told Empire Magazine, “and we filmed it in every single shot that the Thing appears in in the movie, under every lighting environment.”

The practical stand-in—no insight was given into the name choice, in case you’re also wondering about that—helped CG animators with the reference needed for coloring and lighting that would be required to support Moss-Bachrach’s motion-capture performance. It also helped ensure the character’s final form on screen wouldn’t be too cartoony.

Moss-Bachrach told the magazine, “It’s a little bit heady to think about all the hundreds of people that are helping animate this character. I just had faith that they would make my performance so much cooler. I’m very, very happy with the way Ben looks.”

While Jennifer helped with the character’s craggy appearance, the actor also did a deeper dive into Grimm’s interior too. “He’s a Lower East Side guy,” the actor explained about his connection as a NY native, same as the character’s creator Jack Kirby, who he kept in mind while creating his take on Ben. “A lot of this character was a homage to his father, and that, to me, is very meaningful.”

The Fantastic Four: First Steps opens in theaters July 25.

Key Reason Why Ethereum (ETH) Is to Continue Running Named by Top Analyst

by admin May 30, 2025

Cryptocurrency trader and analyst Michael van de Poppe has taken to his social media account to share his prediction of future Ethereum price movements.

“Ethereum to test the highs and continue the run”

Poppe shared an ETH/BTC chart, pointing out that in both April and May, the second-largest cryptocurrency saw “a strong upwards move.” He also noted that in May Ethereum retested the order block (OB), which was a key support level.

That line on the chart shows an area where large buying interest exists historically. Therefore, the surpassing of this area signals potential for future price growth and an asset going toward the highs it reached in the past.

The analyst tweeted: “This means that we’re about to test the highs and continue the run.” Currently, Ethereum is changing hands at 0.02463 BTC or $2,601 per coin.

Ethereum Foundation’s moves big ETH chunk

Earlier today, Ethereum Foundation caused a commotion within the community by transferring 1,000 ETH worth roughly $2.6 million to an anonymous address 0xc061…0B6d. This transaction raised eyebrows and speculations that the Foundation is selling ETH again with a risk of pushing the ETH price down.

Some commentators under the X post by @lookonchain analytics account about this tagged the AI chatbot Grok, asking it to provide an explanation for this ETH move by the Ethereum Foundation — particularly wondering if an Ethereum sell-off is coming.
