The Next Generation Xbox Consoles Will Be Powered By AMD In Multi-Year Partnership

by admin June 18, 2025

Microsoft has announced a multi-year partnership with tech giant and graphics card manufacturer AMD. The deal will result in AMD technology powering the next generation of Xbox hardware.

In a new video, Xbox president Sarah Bond explains that the partnership will see AMD co-engineer silicon for a range of devices, including the next generation of Xbox consoles.

“Together with AMD, we’re advancing the state of art in gaming silicon to deliver the next generation of graphics innovation to unlock a deeper level of visual quality and immersive gameplay and player experiences enhanced with the power of AI, all while maintaining compatibility with your existing library of Xbox games,” says Bond.

Bond says this move reinforces Xbox’s mission to build a platform where players can take their games anywhere across multiple devices, such as handheld, PC, and cloud.

“The next generation of Xbox is coming to life, and this is just the beginning,” says Bond. “We can’t wait to show you what’s next.”

Of course, the big news here is Microsoft confirming another generation of Xbox consoles is in the works. Many have wondered what the future of Xbox as a console platform would be following the Xbox Series X/S’ weaker sales compared to the PlayStation 5 and Switch. Combined with the publisher’s increasing focus on its Xbox Game Pass subscription service and its recent initiative to bring its exclusive franchises to rival platforms, such as Forza and Gears of War, some have questioned the long-term viability of Xbox as a console ecosystem.

Xbox’s deal with AMD is the second major partnership announcement this month. During Summer Game Fest, Microsoft revealed a partnership with Asus to produce an Xbox-centric model of the company’s ROG Ally handheld systems. Xbox strikes “strategic, multi-year agreement” with AMD, “powering the next generation of Xbox”

by admin June 17, 2025

Xbox has partnered with AMD to “power the next generation of Xbox.”

In a brief statement, Xbox president Sarah Bond said the companies were partnering to build first-party devices and cloud, “including future Xbox consoles.”

The “strategic, multi-year agreement” with AMD will be to co-engineer silicon across a “portfolio of devices” and AI-powered experiences, “grounded in a platform designed for players, not tied to a single store or device, and fully compatible with your existing Xbox game library.”

“At Xbox, our vision is for you to play the games you want, with the people you want, anywhere you want,” Bond said. “That’s why we’re investing in our next-generation hardware lineup, across console, handheld, PC, cloud, and accessories.

“I am thrilled to share we’ve established a strategic multi-year partnership with AMD to co-engineer silicon across a portfolio of devices including our next-generation Xbox consoles, in your living room, and in your hands.

“Together with AMD we’re advancing the state of art in gaming silicon to deliver the next generation of graphics innovation to unlock a deeper level of visual quality and immersive gameplay and player experiences enhanced with the power of AI, all while maintaining compatibility with your existing library of Xbox games,” she added.

NBA signs another “multiyear partnership” with 2K

by admin June 16, 2025

The National Basketball Association (NBA) has extended its relationship with 2K with a “multiyear partnership.”

In a press statement, the NBA, NBPA (National Basketball Players Association), and 2K say they have agreed in principle to terms for a “new multiyear global partnership expansion.” 2K has also agreed terms to extend its “longstanding relationships” with the NBA G League and USA Basketball which will “enable 2K to continue creating the most realistic, authentic, and engaging NBA video game experiences.”

As part of the agreement, the NBA and 2K are launching NBA Take-Two Media, “a modern entertainment company that will bring fans and players together through competitive gaming, social-first content, original programming, and live events.”

2K did not detail the terms of the agreement, but did confirm the series has sold over 150 million units worldwide.

“We are immensely pleased to continue our longstanding, highly successful partnership with the NBA and the NBPA and look forward to building upon the record-setting achievements that we have accomplished together,” said Strauss Zelnick, chairman and CEO of Take-Two Interactive.

“I would like to thank Adam Silver, Andre Iguodala, and all our partners at the NBA and NBPA for their continued support and shared vision to empower NBA 2K to become the premier interactive entertainment basketball franchise. We are excited to unveil NBA Take-Two Media and look forward to seeing how it will create an entirely new and multi-faceted NBA experience for our communities.”

Bitcoin eyes multi-year breakout, ETF inflows hit $1.3b

by admin June 15, 2025

Currently, the Bitcoin price is holding steady above $105,000 on Saturday as exchange-traded funds data show investors bought Friday’s dip.

Bitcoin (BTC) rose to $105,300, up by 2.4% from its lowest point on Friday, and 5% above this month’s lowest point.

SoSoValue data shows that spot Bitcoin ETFs saw inflows of $301 million on Friday, even as Bitcoin’s price dropped to nearly $100,000. This pushed total weekly ETF inflows to $1.3 billion—a sharp reversal from the previous week’s $128 million in outflows.

BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin ETF, whose ticker symbol is IBIT, had daily inflows of $238 million on Friday, bringing its cumulative figure to $49.7 billion. It now has $70 billion in assets, making it the fastest-growing ETF in finance.

The SPDR Gold Trust, which was launched in 2004, has accumulated $103 billion in assets. This means that IBIT may flip the biggest gold ETF in the next few months or in 2026 if the trend continues.

Fidelity’s FBTC ETF has had over $11 billion in inflows, while Bitwise’s BITB has had $2 billion since inception.

A possible reason why Wall Street investors bought Bitcoin’s dip is that it maintains strong fundamentals. BlackRock’s data shows that Bitcoin beats the stock market after a major geopolitical event such as the Iran and Israel attacks.

Bitcoin’s supply on exchanges has plunged from 1.5 million in January to 1.1 million today. Falling Bitcoin supplies at a time of falling supplies will likely boost the price in the long term.

Bitcoin price long-term chart point to a multi-year breakout

BTC price chart | Source: crypto.news

The monthly chart indicates a strong Bitcoin price breakout in the near term. This chart shows that Bitcoin formed a rounded bottom between Dec. 17 and March 2021.

Since November 2021, Bitcoin has been forming another rounded bottom. The price remains slightly below the ascending trendline connecting the upper side of these rounded bottoms.

Therefore, the coin may be about to exit an eight-year trendline, which could push it much higher in the long term. Ark Invest sees Bitcoin soaring to $2.4 million by 2030, while Michael Saylor has a mid-term forecast of $1 million.
