Minecraft’s Mounts Of Mayhem Update Will Mix Up Combat

by admin September 27, 2025

Sometimes nights in Minecraft are overwhelming, feeling like you’re battling an unstoppable army of hostile mobs. Minecraft’s next update, which drops in Holiday 2025, will offer up a new weapon, new mount, and new enemy configurations to mix up your battles.

The new weapon is the spear. Mojang says that this item is suited for both hand-to-hand and mounted combat, and that the damage scales with your speed, giving you all the excuse you need to charge into battle.

The new underwater mount, the nautilus.

That will pair great with the new underwater mount, the nautilus, which you can tame using pufferfish. In addition to making travel faster, this mount will preserve your existing air supply, making those enchanted helmets a little bit less necessary. You’ll also be able to find nautilus armor in chests, with copper, iron, gold, diamond, and netherite variants.

A spear-wielding zombie atop a zombie horse.

With your new weapon and mount, you’ll be fighting some new mobs. The zombie nautilus is a neutral mob, but the drowned mobs that ride them will be carrying tridents and a grudge against you. On land, meanwhile, you’ll be able to find zombie horses. Like the zombie nautilus, these horses won’t attack you on their own, but they’ll be ridden by spear-wielding zombies.

Mojang hasn’t announced a specific date for Mounts of Mayhem, but says it will arrive this holiday season.

Also announced at Minecraft Live are the Copper Age update landing next week, the educational Friendly Fishing add-on, and an upcoming Dragon Ball Z collaboration.

Pyth Network (PYTH) price targets $0.30 after 100% rally as whales step in

PYTH price risks wiping out recent gains as profit taking mounts

by admin September 2, 2025

Pyth Network price is down more than 11% in the past 24 hours as its token hovers around $0.16, and the market cap dips below $1 billion.

Summary

  • Pyth Network price has dropped 11% in the past 24 hours.
  • The PYTH token jumped more than 100% to a six-month high of $0.25 but is down at $0.16

The Pyth Network (PYTH) price squeeze last week stood out among top gainers as the cryptocurrency market reacted to the Department of Commerce’s move to put U.S. economic data onchain.

However, as other altcoins slip amid broader crypto pullback, PYTH is trending as one of the big losers with a double digit dump in the past 24 hours. The token has experienced a notable dip in daily volume though, with this metric down 25% as price drops from highs of $0.25 on Aug. 29 to about $0.16 on Sept. 1.

Pyth’s market cap has also dropped below $1 billion, currently around $935 million.

PYTH price decline

While the U.S. government’s decision to tap into Pyth Network and Chainlink to distribute macroeconomic data on blockchain helped bulls explode, traders are taking profits after PYTH reached its highest price in six months.

The decline mirrors the retreat for Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), with BTC price dipping below a key psychological level to hit lows of $107,300.

Pyth Network’s declines have cut weekly gains to about 41%, while the steady sell-off threatens to wipe the upside seen when price went vertical from lows of $0.11 on Aug. 28.

What next for PYTH price?

Although bulls can still target the $0.30 level they coveted as price jumped by more than 100%, analysts say the broader market’s downturn could extend into new lows in September.

In a market outlook report on Monday, analysts at Bitfinex noted altcoins have stagnated after a recent uptick, and a dip into a cyclical floor is likely before prices explode again in the fourth quarter.

“What is emerging is an Altcoin market cap that is stagnating, with any movement in alts signalling capital rotation rather than expansion. With ETF inflows seasonally muted and speculative excess flushed, September could mark the cyclical low point before structural drivers reassert for a Q4 recovery,” Bitifinex noted.

PYTH traded at an all-time peak of $1.20 in March, 2024.

No Man’s Sky Fan Discovers Beautiful Planet Full Of Testicle Mounts

by admin August 29, 2025

No Man’s Sky players are always talking about the fascinating planets they discover. Some are breathtaking paradises that look straight from the cover of a sci-fi paperback. Others are deadly traps ready to claim unsuspecting travelers as their next victims.

It’s less often that you hear about the weird creatures living on these procedurally generated space rocks. They are also randomized to simulate the diverging evolutionary trends of life finding a way throughout vast and far-flung corners of the cosmos. And on at least one of those planets are aliens that look like, well…this.

“I was going to show how beautiful this planet is, but then I saw these guys lolol,” UnderstandingDull174 posted on the No Man’s Sky subreddit this week. Lounging on tall grass under blue skies was what looked like—how else can I describe it—a dick and balls. Buoyant and springy, it greeted UnderstandingDull174 with the best of intentions. The planet might have looked like Avatar‘s Pandora but the inhabitants more like Cronenbergian abominations from Rick and Morty.

The player was allowed to feed them, pet them, and even ride them:

The player could also…milk them.

Tether, Circle to Meet South Korea’s Top Banking CEOs as Stablecoin Momentum Mounts

by admin August 21, 2025

In brief

  • Executives from stablecoin issuers Circle and Tether are set to meet with top figures in some of South Korea’s biggest financial groups this week, according to reports in local media.
  • The discussions will reportedly revolve around the potential distribution and use of dollar-pegged stablecoins in South Korea, as well as the issuance of won-backed stablecoins.
  • South Korea’s ruling party and the opposition party have expressed differing opinions about how to regulate stablecoins.

Following reports that South Korea is preparing to launch a legal framework for stablecoins in October, top executives from some of the country’s biggest financial groups are set to meet with executives from stablecoin giants Tether and Circle Internet Group this week.

Tether issues USDT, while Circle issues USDC, the world’s two largest stablecoins by market capitalization.

According to Korean news agency Yonhap, the executives will discuss the potential distribution and use of dollar-pegged stablecoins in South Korea. The meetings will also cover the issuance of stablecoins backed by the country’s currency, the won.

The CEO of Shinhan Financial Group, Jin Ok-dong, and Hana Financial Group CEO Ham Young-joo are set to have separate meetings with Circle President Heath Tarbert on Friday. Ham is also reported to be meeting an unnamed official from Tether later on Friday.

Meanwhile, KB Financial Group’s Chief Digital & Information Technology Officer Lee Chang-kwon and Woori Bank President Jeong Jin-wan are also said to be planning a meeting with Circle’s President, though an official date has not yet been set.

Rajiv Sawhney, Head of International Portfolio Management at Wave Digital Assets International, thinks the development is an “interesting” one considering how South Korea’s regulators have treated crypto in the past.

“Regulators there have historically blocked foreign institutions from registering and operating in the region,” he told Decrypt. “It’s a very domestic market, and the exchanges there are only allowed to list spot products, not perpetuals or leverage trading.”

He points out that Upbit, the country’s largest exchange, is entirely Korean owned and operated, and its listings are primarily quoted against Korean won fiat.

South Korea and stablecoins

Despite the East Asian nation’s current President Lee Jae-myung being widely considered crypto-friendly, the appropriate legal frameworks have proved politically controversial in the country. Under his presidency, Bitcoin ETFs have headed toward legalization in the country, while crypto KYC and AML oversight has been ramped up.

The country’s ruling party and the opposition party have both expressed different opinions about how to regulate the area, with the opposition Democratic Party debating the use of interest-generating stablecoins and the enforcement of strict capital limitations.

Meanwhile, executives from Korea’s central bank have mulled linking its deposit tokens to a public blockchain, enabling them to “coexist” with stablecoins issued by the private sector.

But these issues haven’t stopped some Korean companies from already preparing to issue their own stablecoins, with South Korean internet conglomerate Kakao recently registering trademarks for a Korean won stablecoin.

Sawhney argued that a joint venture or partnership between Circle or Tether and one of the banks would allow them to “maintain their market share in the stablecoin space” versus South Korean fintech firms issuing their own won-based stablecoins.

U.K. 30-Year Yield Tops U.S. as Pressure Mounts on Government Borrowing

U.K. 30-Year Yield Tops U.S. as Pressure Mounts on Government Borrowing

by admin August 19, 2025

The U.K.’s fragile fiscal situation is back in focus as yields on long-term government bonds surged, topping their U.S. counterparts for the first time this century.

The 30-year U.K. government bond offered a yield of 5.61% at press time. That’s 68 basis points more than the 30-year U.S. Treasury yield according to data source TradingView.

The widening gap means that the market is demanding a significant premium to hold U.K. debt versus Treasury notes, a sign that investors are becoming increasingly wary about the U.K.’s fiscal situation.

The U.K. gilt market (bond market) has taken on a life of its own, as the country faces structural, long-term economic challenges that it has built up over decades; yet, this is not a uniquely British issue. Japan, the EU, and the U.S. have also seen bond yields rise as debt burdens and inflation pressures mount.

This indebtedness of the advanced world supports the bullish case for perceived store-of-value assets like bitcoin

and gold.

Focus on U.K. inflation report

Wednesday’s U.K. inflation report is critical for bond markets.

The data is expected to show that both the headline consumer price index (CPI) and core CPI remained well above the 2% target in July, according to data source Trading Economics. The headline CPI is expected to be 3.7% year-over-year (up from the previous 3.6%), while core inflation is forecast to remain at 3.7% (unchanged from the prior month). The data will hit the wires just weeks after the Bank of England cut rates to 4%.

Expectations for sticky inflation couldn’t have come at a worse time, as the GDP growth has weakened and unemployment has begun to edge higher from secular lows.

Repeat of 2022 crisis?

A hot inflation report could only worsen the debt-bond dynamics by accelerating the uptrend in yields. This calls for both crypto and traditional market traders to remain vigilant for a 2022-style volatility in the U.K. markets.

The hardening of the 30-year gilt yield, representing the long end of the curve, played a big role in the liability-driven investment (LDI) pension crisis of 2022, which erupted under Liz Truss. The longer duration yield is now testing the upper bound of a long-term trend and could rise to 5.7%, the highest level since May 1998.

LDI strategies use leverage to hedge pension liabilities. When gilt yields spiked in 2022, collateral calls led to a mass sale of gilts, creating a feedback loop that threatened financial stability. That prompted the Bank of England to intervene with emergency purchases to prevent a systemic crisis.

If Wednesday’s inflation report runs hotter than expected, gilt yields could break new highs, putting further pressure on the government and raising the risk of another LDI-style crisis.
