Konami Press Start Showcase Will Highlight Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Silent Hill F, And More This Week

by admin June 10, 2025

Though last week was packed with showcases like the PlayStation State of Play, Geoff Keighley’s Summer Games Fest, the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, Day of the Devs, and plenty more, there’s still some summer fun on the horizon. Konami has revealed it will host a Press Start showcase this week on Thursday, June 12, at 6 a.m. PT/9 a.m. ET, where it will highlight roughly 37 minutes of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Silent Hill f, and more.

“Join Konami for a broadcast of the latest information on new, upcoming titles like Silent Hill f and Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, and more,” the show’s description reads.

Though that’s not much to go on, fans excited for Konami’s upcoming Metal Gear Solid 3 remake and the latest Silent Hill, which brings players to Japan, should tune in when Press Start airs on Thursday.

In the meantime, check out the latest Silent Hill f gameplay trailer, where we also learned it is launching this September, and then check out Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater’s remade version of the original game’s iconic opening movie.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and Silent Hill f livestream announced by Konami

by admin June 9, 2025

Here’s a new date for your bumper summer line up of video game showcases: Konami has today announced its own livestream, which will give us all a fresh look at both Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and Silent Hill f.

The showcase – known as Konami Press Start – is scheduled for this coming Thursday, 12th June. It will air at 2pm here in the UK, so that’s 6:00am PT / 9:00am ET / 3:00pm CEST.

The whole thing is expected to last for around 37 minutes, Konami has said. While the studio namechecked both Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and Silent Hill f, it also promised “and more” during that time.

Everything We Know About Silent Hill f So Far. Watch on YouTube

Those interested in tuning in can do so via YouTube, Twitch, or Facebook.

“This live event offers a unique opportunity to hear directly from the creative minds behind some of Konami’s most iconic franchises,” the developer said, promising us all “insights into the development process”, as well as “exclusive content”.

As for those games mentioned above, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is scheduled for release on 28th August, complete with the Ape Escape-themed minigame from the original game. Last month, Konami released the intro video for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, which is absolutely worth a watch.

Silent Hill f, meanwhile, is slated for launch later this year, on 25th September. It will be “more action-oriented” than last year’s Silent Hill 2 remake, but still feature puzzles that are “grounded in psychological anguish and suffering”.

Mortal Shell 2 Gets Death Metal Trailer Full Of E3 2008 Energy

by admin June 8, 2025

Screenshot: PlayStack / Kotaku

Today, during Summer Game Fest, Mortal Shell 2 was announced with a trailer that made me miss the days of E3 circa 2008 or 2010. The dark and twisted souls-like is coming to PC and consoles in 2026.

Cyberpunk 2077’s Phantom Liberty DLC Probably Won’t Change V’s Fate

Here’s the first trailer for the upcoming action RPG, which kicked off the whole Summer Game Fest event, from publisher Playstack and developer Cold Symmetry:

And here’s how the publisher describes the standalone third-person RPG sequel to the first Mortal Shell, which launched to positive reviews in 2020.

“Mortal Shell II is a standalone sequel to Mortal Shell that significantly expands on the original with unrestricted, adrenaline-charged combat, deeper weapon design with extensive upgrade options, and an emphasis on free exploration.

This action RPG offers an immersive, interconnected open world, expansive yet deliberately compact, designed to unfold its twisted landscapes and hidden structures while respecting the player’s time.

This metal-infused Mortal Shell II trailer really reminded many of us at Kotaku of the kind of over-the-top but fun trailers we’d seen back in the mid-00s. The screaming metal, the angry executions, and the mention of what the song is at the start. Very 2010 or so energy. And I’m here for it.

The devs have removed any kind of stamina system from Mortal Shell II, according to a press release shared by Gematsu. “Mortal Shell II‘s combat system is agile yet grounded,” say the devs. “Unrestricted by stamina, players exploit multiple tactics to shatter enemy posture and strike critically.”

Mortal Shell II is set to launch on consoles and PC in 2026. No specific console was shared, but I expect it will arrive on PS5 and Xbox sometime next year.

Six Brutal Metal Albums To Blast After Doom: The Dark Ages

by admin June 1, 2025

Screenshot: iD Software / Claire Jackson / Kotaku

Doom The Dark Ages is an interesting little beast. It’s still Doom at heart, in the vein of the last two games. But the vibe is just so very different, and not just because of the medieval setting. It’s the Army of Darkness of Doom games, if you follow. That goes double for the music, and while there’s, uh, obvious reasons for that. Fact remains, this is a game where you’re an absolute unit, ripping demons to shreds; but there’s way more Warhammer shit in its veins than before.

Doom 2016 and Eternal may have sparked a whole new fire under the djent-ier side of metal—to the point that there’s folks trying to make the name “Argent Metal” happen—but The Dark Ages is slotting into a deep tradition of metal portraying high-fantasy Hell, without swaying too far in either direction. So, if you were one of those folks who fell down a metal rabbit hole after the first two games, and need something to match the vibes a little better this time around, or if this is your first step into a larger, more brutal world, let’s walk you a little further down the path with an appropriate six more albums to go hunting down to keep the brutal times rolling long after you’ve Shield Sawed your last demon in half.

Metal Gear Solid Delta’s James Bond opening gets the remake treatment

by admin May 25, 2025

Pull out the tuxedo and order a martini — shaken, not stirred — because Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater’s James Bond-esque opening has finally been revealed, and it’s different. Konami rolled out the 3-minute clip on YouTube, showing off new footage and audio from the forthcoming espionage game that reimagines Metal Gear Solid 3’s cinematic introduction.

Some key visual differences include the skeletal snakes from the original opening being more prominent in the remake. Additional shots of Snake being badass are scattered through the remade sequence, alongside shots from the original, now realized in incredible detail.

While Colonel Volgin is solely shown in the OG version, the new iteration includes even more key characters from the Cobra Unit, like The End (with his enormous eye), The Pain, and The Fear, with subtle redesigns that honor the original game’s vision. For good measure, Konami also throws in a shot of the dramatic showdown between Snake and The Boss.

The clip features new vocals from the great Cynthia Harrell, giving a softer performance compared to her original 2004 “Snake Eater” recording. Harrell’s ballad features noticeably less bass and fewer horn instruments than the 2004 edition, and leans heavier into psychedelic ambiance, emphasizing Harrell singing, “I’m still in a dream.”

Regardless of the changes, the sentiments from the original song — “concepts of why we have to live and why we have to go on,” as the song’s composer Norihiko Hibino told Polygon — remain intact.

At this point, you’re probably wondering whether or not players can still control the on-screen snakes like it’s 2004. Well, the short answer is yes.

According to the YouTube video’s description, players can engage with “interactive elements from the original, included in the in-game version of the opening.” And if Konami is honoring the snake mini-game, there’s a chance players can expect to hear a version of the song when you’re back climbing that unrealistically long ladder towards the end of the game — for James Bond dramatics, of course.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will be released on Aug. 28 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has revised iconic Bond-theme opening

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has revised iconic Bond-theme opening

by admin May 24, 2025

Konami has released the intro video for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, a remake of the iconic Bond-theme opening from the original game.

Singer Cynthia Harrell has re-recorded the theme song Snake Eater, while Kyle Cooper has re-done the visuals to match the revised main game.

While the song is essentially the same, the visuals are changed. The description states the staff credits will be included in the in-game version.

In the PS2 original the song comes after the initial prologue section as a credits sequence – just as you’d expect in a Bond film.

The new version has altered visuals in a similar style, but includes more gameplay footage, giving us another look at the improved graphics.

Before Snake Eater, Harrell also sang the theme song I Am The Wind for Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Steam on 28th August, complete with the Snake vs Monkey minigame.

Back in 2023, Konami confirmed Kojima Productions was not involved in the Snake Eater remake. Instead it’s been developed by Konami and Virtuos. Kojima and Konami infamously had a falling out, with Kojima leaving the company after Metal Gear Solid 5 to start his own studio.

Still, the game is a “doggedly faithful remake”, reads our Eurogamer Metal Gear Solid Delta preview.

Kojima himself is busy with Death Stranding 2, which releases next month, putting the two games somewhat in competition over the summer. He’ll then be working on his own new espionage game, Physint, but don’t expect it out for another few years.

Check Out Metal Gear Solid Delta’s Remade Version Of The Iconic ‘Snake Eater’ Opening Movie

by admin May 23, 2025

Konami has released the remade version of Metal Gear Solid 3’s famous opening movie, which will kick off Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater when it arrives this August. This clean version of the intro cinematic allows fans and newcomers to more clearly enjoy the newly recorded vocals for the classic “Snake Eater” song.

Although this new version retains the James Bond-like motion graphics and slithering snake skeleton, it features completely new scenes compared to the 2004 original. For example, this updated version highlights the members of the Cobra Unit who were absent from the original. “Snake Eater” has also been re-recorded by its original performer, Cynthia Harrell.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a complete remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5. The original story and voice acting have been preserved, but the game features enhancements such as 3D audio and new graphical flourishes, such as Snake’s clothing degrading over time. The control scheme has been reworked and modernized, but fans can still play using the classic control setup. Additionally, the remake lets players choose between experiencing the game using a new third-person behind-the-shoulder view and the original game’s overhead viewpoint (known as Legacy Style).

You can pick up Naked Snake’s revamped adventure when it launches on August 28 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Check out previous trailers showing off gameplay, as well as our list of upcoming video game remakes.
