Chinese company Netease is making an AAA action-adventure game called ‘Blood Message’

by admin June 21, 2025

NetEase, the Chinese video game company that published Marvel Rivals and Bungie’s Destiny: Rising, has announced its first single-player AAA game. It’s a story-driven third-person action-adventure game called Blood Message, and as Polygon notes, it’s in the vein of Uncharted and Assassin’s Creed. The story is set in the final years of the Tang Dynasty, which ruled imperial China from 618 to 907. In Blood Message, players take control of a nameless messenger and his son “to deliver a message that holds the fate of their war-torn homeland.”

Players will have to journey through desolate deserts and the vast wilderness of East and Central Asia. The trailer shows the messenger and his son fighting enemies in the desert, surviving avalanches, working with mysterious characters and discovering ancient artifacts. It also shows the game’s cinematic cutscenes, stealth and survival mechanics, as well as the landscapes players can expect to see.

“We are ushering players into a new generation of high adventure with Blood Message,” said Zhipeng Hu, the Lead Producer and NetEase Executive Vice President. “As our first completely single-player focused experience from NetEase Games, after two decades of deep dedication to the gaming industry, we are prepared to deliver a truly epic and cinematic experience for players around the world.”

NetEase has yet to announce a release date, but Blood Message will be available for consoles and the PC. The game’s announcement shows that Chinese developers are increasingly making more inroads into the AAA space. Black Myth: Wukong, which is widely considered as the first AAA game from China, was originally released last year and will be available on the Xbox in August.

Marvel Rivals publishers reveal Blood Message, a Naughty Dog-style singleplayer action game set in Tang era China

by admin June 21, 2025

Blood Message is a new singleplayer third-person action game from NetEase, publishers of Marvel Rivals and Naraka: Bladepoint. It follows the journey of a “nameless messenger” and his son across Tang dynasty China, and is laced with the “customs, culture, and rich history of the era”. Amongst other sights and sounds, you will join an uprising in Shazhou, Dunhuang and tread the legendary Silk Road trade routes as you “etch a final tale of loyalty” into the helpless, screaming face of Unreal Engine 5.

I know absolutely nothing about any of these historical and cultural precedents, so I will frame things in terms of the mechanics and skits I recognise from opulent manly bonkfests like God Of War. You will: shimmy through narrow gaps, presumably so that the next area has time to load! Lift a huge sliding door so that your AI-controlled partner can scamper under it, bookending your progress! Mash somebody’s mug into the woodwork while performing an environmental finisher! Topple over and slide uncontrollably through collapsing scenery! Remorselessly QTE a cartwheel while trapped beneath the speeding vehicle! There, now – between those two paragraphs, you don’t even need to watch the following trailer.

Watch on YouTube

It’s end-of-day Friday and I am probably being too pissy. Yes, this appears to be another vibrantly violent canyon of exploding or murdersome photoreal furniture, but there is a lot of (romanticised?) history here I wouldn’t mind encountering up close.

I just hope it manages to have a sense of humour about itself, somewhere. NetEase don’t give that impression in their announcement release. “How can countless ordinary people—smaller than dust—leave a mark on history?” it brays. “The Blood Message development team offers this answer: The remembrance and praise of future generations become their eternal monument.” Nice to hear, because the monuments in the trailer don’t seem very eternal: it’s like the masonry is mortared with anti-matter.

Lead producer and NetEase executive vice president Zhipeng Hu adds that this is the “first completely single-player focused experience from NetEase Games”. They are certainly making no bones of the genre markers they’re trying to hit with that video. There’s no release date yet. Learn more on the official site (which, be warned, is hella animation-heavy and may devour your mobile data allowance in one fell swoop).

Netease joins the AAA single player wave with Blood Message, developed by the Naraka Bladepoint team

by admin June 21, 2025

Blood Message, a single player narrative action game, has just been revealed by Netease Games.

The game is coming to PC and consoles, though no release date has been announced.

Developed by 24 Entertainment, the studio responsible for melee battle royale Naraka: Bladepoint, the new trailer introduces the Dunhuang’s Uprising as Blood Message’s setting, where your character must make a 1,000 mile trek with a crucial message in hand.

Watch the official trailer for Blood Message here!Watch on YouTube

The trailer – which you can watch above – is a visually impressive display, showcasing plenty of third-person action across various distinct locations. While 24 Entertainment does have action experience courtesy of Naraka, this looks to be a much slower, cinematic affair.

An accompanying press release states Blood Message will feature: “Visceral, realistic combat blending stealth and survival mechanics”, as well as “expansive landscapes inspired by the diverse terrains of East and Central Asia”. In terms of gameplay comparisons, think something along the lines of The Last of Us, albeit with a close-quarters, historical focus.

“We are ushering players a new generation of high adventure with Blood Message,” said Zhipeng Hu, lead producer and NetEase executive vice president. “As our first completely single-player focused experience from NetEase Games, after two decades of deep dedication to the gaming industry, we are prepared to deliver a truly epic and cinematic experience for players around the world.”

We’re seeing a lot of these big budget action games come from China as of late, as the success of Black Myth: Wukong changed the game for the country’s developers. Prior to Blood Message, Phantom Blade Zero, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, Lost Soul Aside, and Tides of Annihilation are just a handful of examples of interesting titles following the path Wukong first tread.

These examples have yet to release, and as such whether or not the financial and critical success of Wukong can be replicated by its contemporaries remains to be seen. Nonetheless, this wave of interesting looking games coming to the West from a historically under-represented part of the video game industry (at least as far as big budget AAA is concerned) certainly offers another avenue for exciting games to reach the hands of curious players.

NetEase Reveals Its ‘First Triple-A Single-Player’ Game, Blood Message, And It Looks Awesome

by admin June 21, 2025

Chinese publisher NetEase Games, which is behind multiplayer titles like Marvel Rivals, FragPunk, and Naraka: Bladepoint, has revealed its first-ever triple-A single-player game, Blood Message. Set during the final years of China’s Tang Dynasty, Blood Message is an action-adventure game being developed in Unreal Engine 5 by 24 Entertainment. There’s no word on when it’s coming out, but it’s due on consoles and PC.

NetEase says Blood Message puts players in control of a nameless messenger and his young son during a critical uprising in Dunhuang. “Caught in the crossfire of a righteous uprising and driven by loyalty to both family and country, players will embark on a perilous eastward journey to deliver a message that holds the fate of their war-torn homeland,” a press release reads. “Amidst the shifting sands of history, they will etch a final tale of loyalty.”

Check out the Blood Message reveal trailer for yourself below:

As this nameless messenger, players will embark on a 1000-mile odyssey back to Chang’an, the heart of the Tang Empire. To do so, they’ll cross lethal landscapes like desolate deserts and the wilderness of East and Central Asia while surviving brutal sieges, unforgiving terrain, and more. NetEase says the game’s setting in the last years of the Tang Dynasty “provides a cultural landmark of Chinese history that frames the story with customs, culture, and rich history of the era.”

Regarding gameplay, NetEase describes Blood Message as narrative-driven and anchored in cinematic storytelling with “visceral, realistic combat blending stealth and survival mechanics.”

“As our first completely single-player focused experience from NetEase Games, after two decades of deep dedication to the gaming industry, we are prepared to deliver a truly epic and cinematic experience for our players around the world,” NetEase executive vice president Zhipeng Hu writes in a press release.

GOG says it won’t repeat its ill-fated Daggerfall GOG Cut with its new one-click modding program, not least because it can send more than one message a day to modders now

by admin June 20, 2025

Remember the Daggerfall Unity GOG Cut? Odds are you don’t. It was, in essence, a pre-modded version of The Elder Scrolls 2: Daggerfall, in the excellent fan-made Daggerfall Unity engine reimplementation. The idea was that if you wanted to play Daggerfall but didn’t want to go through the rigamarole of modding it into modernity, you could just download the GOG Cut and be on your way.

But there were issues. It quickly became outdated as the mods it included got new updates that GOG didn’t wrap into the GOG Cut, and even if it had kept everything on its latest version, some of the included mods just didn’t quite mesh. It wasn’t the best way to play Daggerfall in the 2020s, and ended up delisted from GOG’s storefront earlier this year after languishing there since 2022.

But GOG is taking another crack at modding with its one-click mods program, which will let you install stuff like Skyblivion, HoMM 3: Horn of the Abyss, and other meaty mod projects much like you install any other game on the platform. As it begins to flex its fan-content muscles, it says its learnt a lot from the DF GOG Cut experience.

Related articles

“In this case, usually, for the mods it will be on them [to keep mods up-to-date],” says GOG’s Rudy de Marco. “They will have more access than previously, because at the end of the day it will be easier for everyone to trust them to actually update their stuff whenever they want, right? So that’s how we plan to go.”

So, presuming mod authors keep on top of their updates, we shouldn’t run into yet another scenario where mods on GOG end up woefully outdated compared to their counterparts on sites like Nexus Mods. It’s not a free-for-all, though: GOG of course has to approve which mods it hosts on its service, and de Marco tells me that the store does “give heads up” to studios whose games are being modded on the platform. “It’s for us, but for the mod creators as well, right? There are stories in the past where mods could have been shut down completely for a specific franchise, and it’s not something where we want to put anyone at risk… We are kind of a middleman to make sure that everything’s okay.”

I get the impression that GOG’s come quite a way from the first days of the DF GOG Cut. Which, you know, you’d certainly hope is the case. In our chat, de Marco told me that assembling the DF GOG Cut was so ramshackle that “Our main person in charge of [the GOG Cut] did not have a premium account on Nexus, so he could send one message a day to people that weren’t his friend.” Kind of made securing all the necessary permissions for mod authors a bit hard.

I’m interested to see where GOG goes with modding. The whole scene has hit interesting times in the wake of the departure of the 24-year head of Nexus Mods, with some users fearing the site’s new owners might put the stalwart platform on a path to enshittification. Perhaps we’re due a shake-up in the mod-hosting scene. Perhaps GOG is well-placed to take advantage of it. It probably has a premium account by this point.

Keep up to date with the most important stories and the best deals, as picked by the PC Gamer team.

Just when you think the day is done with gaming news, this happens. I’m quite happy with this though. Michael Saylor Posts ‘Powerful’ Bitcoin Message Ahead of Crucial Event Today

by admin June 18, 2025

  • Saylor’s Strategy “powered by Bitcoin”
  • FOMC meeting coming today, here are expectations

Michael Saylor, a vocal Bitcoin evangelist, who cofounded Bitcoin treasury company Strategy (formerly known as MicroStrategy), has taken to his social media account to send yet another BTC-themed message to the global crypto community.

This message came out of the X platform (formerly Twitter) ahead of the scheduled FOMC meeting on June 18.

Saylor’s Strategy “powered by Bitcoin”

The AI-generated image published by Michael Saylor today depicts him as a superhero that looks like the Iron Man character, who is wearing a shining Bitcoin mascot on his chest clad in metal armor.

In the background, the earth is red with spots of fire and drones flying around in a smoke-filled sky. “Powered by Bitcoin,” Saylor’s tweet says. In these regular BTC-themed tweets, Saylor seems to be promoting himself as a face associated with Bitcoin.

His Tuesday tweet was also a provocative one, as Saylor depicted himself as a boxer waiting for an upcoming fight in a boxing ring. “Sometimes you need to fight for Bitcoin,” he tweeted. The community’s reaction in the comments was mixed.

However, the majority of the commentators were supportive of Saylor and his urge to buy as much Bitcoin as possible, and then “hold it forever.” On Monday, Saylor’s company, Strategy, announced the accumulation of 10,100 worth over $1 billion in fiat. The total crypto holdings of the entity now stand at 592,000 Bitcoin, valued at $61,816,344 at press time.

Saylor’s tweet came ahead of the FOMC meeting scheduled for today, at which the Fed Reserve chairman will announce a decision on interest rates.

FOMC meeting coming today, here are expectations

At the FOMC meeting today, investors expect to hear the new verdict regarding interest rates. However, many believe that the Federal Reserve is likely to leave them unchanged, at least for June. The next meeting is scheduled for July 29-30.

Crypto analyst Michael van de Poppe tweeted that it is normal for the Bitcoin price to tumble one or two days before a new FOMC meeting, and this is a good chance to buy the dip. On Tuesday, Bitcoin plunged by 4.82%, hitting $103,590. By now it has managed to regain 1.78%, but then went down another 1%, and is currently changing hands at $104,400.

Michael Saylor, a vocal Bitcoin permabull and Strategy’s executive chairman who co-founded this company, has just published a post on the social media giant X to support a BTC treasury company Metaplanet.

In his latest tweet, Bitcoin evangelist Saylor sent congratulations to the Metaplanet team, to the company’s CEO, Simon Gerovich, and the shareholders of this Japanese Bitcoin treasury company.

Saylor shared a screenshot of the company’s shares (MTPLF) soaring 26% today, from 1,504 JPY to 1,896 JPY, after Metaplanet announced the acquisition of 1,112 Bitcoin for approximately $117.2 million at around $105,435 per coin.

Metaplanet also spread the word about reaching a Bitcoin yield of 266.1% year-to-date in 2025. Now, the company holds a total of 10,000 BTC, which is well ahead of its recently announced plan. The company expected to hold 10,000 BTC by the end of 2025, and then buy 21,000 Bitcoins by the time 2026 ends. The Bitcoin accumulation plan for 2026 mirrors the total Bitcoin hard cap of 21 million coins, more than 19 million of which have already been mined.

‘Rich Dad Poor Dad’ Author Issues Bitcoin Winner’s Message

by admin June 6, 2025

In a fresh tweet, Robert Kiyosaki, investor and financial author, who wrote classic book on financial literacy “Rich Dad Poor Dad,” praises Bitcoin and other “real assets” while criticizing fiat currency, which opposes them.

Kiyosaki’s tweet is titled “words of a loser,” and in it, Kiyosaki reveals “the best bargain today.” Curiously, it is not Bitcoin, even though the financial guru still insists that winners should get them both. In an earlier tweet, Kiyosaki predicted Bitcoin to surge above $1 million over the next 10 years.

Robert Kiyosaki reminded the community that has been recommending for many years to buy gold, silver and Bitcoin. Losers save “fake money,” the financial guru claims, and it is much better to own silver, gold and Bitcoin. “You’re a winner. Please act like one,” he stated.

Kiyosaki believes that, within the next 10 years, Bitcoin is likely to skyrocket to $1 million and higher per coin. Gold, according to him, will jump to $30,000 per ounce.

WORDS of a LOSER:

“I would have…I could have…I should have.”

For years I have been recommending buying gold, silver, Bitcoin.

Silver hit $35 an ounce. I believe silver is the best bargain today. I believe silver will 2X…possibly $70 this year.

Please do not be a loser…

Bitcoin price plummets 5%

At press time, Bitcoin is changing hands at $103,210 after experiencing a massive 5% drop, with BTC falling from $105,600 to $100,000 on Thursday but recovering earlier today.

The collapse took place in light of the news about U.S. pro-crypto president Trump and his former advisor, centibillionaire Elon Musk, having a public falling out on social media because of the criticism Musk poured on Trump’s new tax-and-spending bill. In return, Trump promised to deprive Tesla of the government’s subsidies. Elon Musk’s fortune shrank by $34 billion in a single day, which was a record even for him. Still, the former D.O.G.E. leader remains the world’s richest person and entrepreneur.

Kiyosaki tweeted that he believes silver to be “the best bargain today.” While it is trading at $35.77 per ounce now, the financial guru expects it to soar 2x and reach $70 this year. “Silver hit $35 an ounce. I believe silver is the best bargain today. I believe silver will 2X…possibly $70 this year,” he said in the tweet.

In his numerous tweets published earlier, Kiyosaki said that silver is likely to be actively used in various industries, including the production of solar panels, electronics, medicine and many other key spheres.

Crypto Whale Send Message With Massive 44M XRP Transfer

by admin June 1, 2025

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

A stunning movement of XRP has just been recorded, with 44.1 million tokens, worth over $97 million at current market price, transferred from Turkish crypto exchange Paribu to an unknown wallet.

The sudden move, initially flagged by an XRP investor known as Xaif on social media platform X, comes amid a projected wave of a giga pump forecasted by technical analysts conflicted by waning bullish sentiment surrounding the cryptocurrency.

44 Million XRP Leaves Paribu For Unknown Wallet

On May 31, 2025, at precisely 09:51 AM UTC, a transaction involving 44,100,000 XRP was executed on the XRP Ledger. The source was identified as Paribu, one of Turkey’s most prominent cryptocurrency exchanges.

This makes the source even more interesting, considering it isn’t one of the more popular Western-based crypto exchanges. Nonetheless, the tokens were moved to wallet address “rKeWg9,” which is not previously associated with any major exchange or custodian.

Blockchain data confirms that the entire amount was delivered successfully, with a transaction fee of just 0.00001 XRP. As noted by the XRP analyst, this is most likely a message from a giant investor, pointing to an accumulation move.

This is is because a significant movement of crypto tokens off an exchange platform is mostly viewed as a sign of long-term holding that reduces selling pressure.

When high-volume transfers like this are made, they are mostly purchases by institutions or high-net-worth individuals positioning themselves ahead of a bigger price shift. In a market where sentiment can change quickly, such moves carry psychological weight.

As expected, it has caused some optimism among smaller holders, and the next outlook is whether it can attract more buyers expecting a rally.

Giga Pump Incoming For XRP?

Adding to the building fire is a bold proclamation from market analyst Amonyx, who recently took to X to share an ultra-bullish outlook for XRP. Particularly, the analyst noted that XRP is on the way to printing a “giga pump” into the foreseeable long term.

The chart he shared shows a long-term symmetrical triangle breakout pattern, indicating that XRP has finally broken past a multi-year consolidation phase on the monthly candlestick timeframe, which dates back to 2018.

XRP is currently trading at $2.14. Chart: TradingView

The resemblance of this breakout to Bitcoin’s similar breakout in 2016 is unmistakable. Considering the subsequent Bitcoin price action at the time, the analyst projected a similar move for the XRP price.

Amonyx’s chart outlines an upside Fibonacci extension target above $27.16, with a more extreme resistance band around $71.41, implying a high-momentum move on the macro level. Both of these levels correspond to the 1.618 and 1.902 Fib extension levels, respectively. The trajectory, if sustained, would see XRP competing with Ethereum and possibly even Bitcoin in terms of market capitalization.

At the time of writing, XRP was trading at $2.19, up by 1.33% in the past 24 hours.
